Cakewalk by BandLab

久しぶりに音楽ソフト。

Cakewalkといえば今は亡きSonerで有名なDAWメーカーですが、こちら無料でリリースされているDAWソフト「 BandLab」。

高級プログラミング言語のC＋＋で制作されているので軽快にサクサク作動します。

無料で使えるDAWソフトの中では間違いなく最強です。僕はSonerも使っていますが、操作にあまり違いがないのでソナー使いの人は問題なく使えるでしょう。

付属するインストゥルメント・プラグインソフトはCakewalk TTS-1、Cakewalk Studio Instruments (Bass Guitar、Drum Kit、Electric Piano、Strings Section)、 エフェクト・プラグインは、Overloud TH3 Cakewalk Edition、BREVERB 2 Cakewalk、Sonitus:fx Suite (Compressor、Delay、Equalizer、Gate、Modulator、Multiband、Phase、Reverb、Surround、Surround Compressor、Wahwah)等、必要十分な内容。

表示ももちろんすべて日本語。

これが無料だという驚き・・。

世に出回っているあらゆる音源、エフェクト類も自由に組み込むことができます。

英国のスピットファイヤーオーディオや、SINE Playerの素晴らしい無料音源も問題なく作動しています。

サポートは終了したように思われがちですが、このソフトは非常に人気があるためか、最近アップグレードのアナウンスがあり、僕もアップグレードしました。

スピットファイヤーオーディオや、SINE Playerの無料音源についてはまたの機会に・・。

このdawで「そうだ京都、行こう。」のテーマ「 My favorite Things」を無エフェクトで録音したものを下に載せました。

1時間ほどで作ったので、スタジオレコーディング時のようなエフェクトもかけていませんし、バランス等もそのままの録って出し生音です。

アコーディオンのみ、このソフトに付属のCakewalk TTS-1を使って、ストリングスの各セクション、オーボエ、クラリネット等は所有しているスタジオクオリティの某有料オーケストラ音源の無加工生音からMP3出力しています。

BandLabはケークウォーク社のHPから無料でダウンロードできますが、プラットフォームはWINDOWS８以降の64ビットマシンのみで、残念ながらmacでは使用できません。

しかしながらこれだけの充実したdawソフトを無料でリリースしてくれているCakewalkに感謝です。

A Misplaced Note in The Heaven Waltz

The Gods came down and told the Bard

To listen.

And they sang their Heaven Waltz, once and only once

They expected a full transcription.

When the Bard came back to perform for Them, he gulped and drew his lute like a blade.

As the Bard played, the Gods made merry.

They listened, and They were pleased.

However, just at the end, the Bard’s finger slipped.

The lute made an awful sound.

The Gods stopped, and turned to the Bard, furious

His panicked face was covered with tears

He opened his mouth to speak, but They killed him

Enchanted his corpse so the sound of his performance played from it forever

An eternal reminder of his failure.

Narrator’s Note: I was there to bear witness to this tragedy. Here is my own rendition of The Heaven Waltz, as I remember it:
