Do you have any IronDad recommendations?
I have looked at this every day since you asked it, and felt overwhelmed every time, because there are SO. MANY. GREAT. STORIES. AND. AUTHORS. And because I had anxiety about forgetting/leaving people out. But I'm going to answer anyway.
A small (and very incomplete) collection of some Irondad authors I definitely recommend (according to my Ao3 subscriptions): I have read/want to read/will read pretty much everything they write. Happy FFWF!!! If RDJ and Tom Holland were to read one of your fics, which one would it be and why? How do you think they would react to it?
Okay, FIRST of all, if RDJ or Tom Holland were to read ANY of my fics, I would probably die inside. Partly from excitement, and partly from nerves/embarrassment. XD
Not that there’s necessarily anything, like, inherently embarrassing in any of my fics, but it’s the principle of the thing. XD
Anyways. To actually answer your question:
The ones that I would want them to read would be Nothing Wrong with Being Yourself or This is Where..., because I feel like those are two of my best Irondad and Spiderson fics.
In terms of what I think they’d actually read?
Hmmm....
I feel like Tom Holland would probably read The Meaning of Christmas, especially with Spider-Man: No Way Home coming up and supposedly being during Christmas. It’s a little bit cutsier and more comedy than whump/angst, which I think Tom would appreciate. As far as how he’d react, I think he’d laugh and smile--or, at least, that’s what I’m hoping. XD
I think Robert Downey Jr. would probably read Always and Forever or 5 Times Pepper Reminded Tony She'll Always Be There for Him and 1 Time He Reminded Her, because I feel like those are the most canonical/realistic to the actual storyline, plus a lot more complex, and I feel like he would appreciate the emotion/stories I added and the contexts I put them in. How he’d react...? I guess hopefully he’d smile at them and find them heartwarming. I don’t know lol.
In general, I feel like both of them would be willing to read Who Knew Birthdays Could Be So Complicated, ‘cause I feel like it’s such a complex story within itself, and it’s something they can both appreciate, with comedy and drama and whump and everything in between. I feel like they would both think the villain is pretty dumb, and they honestly might find the final boss fight a little silly or anticlimactic, but I think they’d appreciate it for what it is and find things that they both love about it. Well, that’s what I’d want anyways. XD

P.S. Out of curiosity, does anyone know if the Marvel cast actually does search for/read fan fiction? Like, I know the Supernatural cast does, but is that a thing the Marvel cast does too??

Stay Away From my Son

No one knows that Peter Parker is Tony Stark’s son. What would happen if the media finds out?

“Mr. Stark! Mr. Stark!” The paparazzi call out. “Do you care to comment on the leaked news that you have a son?”
On a normal day, Tony would just push past and ignore the whole ordeal. Today is different. If he didn’t get the vultures out of here, some smart reporter like the Ms. Christine Everhart in the front of the crowd would catch onto something… like a 15-year-old boy walking out of SI.
He scoffs and keeps walking, turning back at them as to lead them away. “What, isn’t this like the millionth time we’ve had a report like this?”
“Can you explain the photos of you eating lunch with a boy in a restaurant in Queens?” A reporter shows a printed photo of Tony sitting at a table with a boy with brown, wavy hair. The boy’s face is hidden from the camera.
“As you know, I hire interns for SI, and I like to personally vet them myself.”
“Will we be seeing much of this intern?”
Tony turns and glares straight at the man who asked the question “No, you will respect the young man’s privacy. He is not famous, nor does he want to be. If I see any of you trying to badger any one of my employees, I will have security throw you out and a restraining order will be filed. Do I make myself clear?”
The paparazzo leaves soon after – no one wants to be hit with a restraining order. Tony sighs and turns back to walk into Stark Industries.
Peter walks out, face bright and happy. “Hi Mr. Stark! How are you?”
“Hey Pete. Headed home?”
“Aunt May says we have to get Korean for dinner, and the place closes at 5:30 on Thursdays. So, I have to get home.” Peter shrugs.
“Sounds good. Send my regards.” Tony smiles. “Hey, if any reporters try to stop you, ignore them. I already threatened them with a restraining order.”
Peter grimaces, “Thanks, I guess.”
Tony’s heart drops when he sees Peter’s reaction. Truth of the matter is, Peter is Tony’s biological son. Only finding out this year when Pepper had found a letter from Mary Parker that Stane had hidden for over 10 years. Tony had wasted no time in going to meet his son but respected the boy’s low-profile life. What a surprise it had been that his son was the same Spiderman that he had been monitoring! It has been six months since Peter and Tony had first met, and Tony would love to spend as much time as he could with the boy and act as his father, but Tony knows the only way that would work is if the media knows who Peter is. He knows it’s Peter’s decision, and it’s looking like Peter would rather live his life out of the spotlight, and Tony understands. He totally understands. If only he could do that, Tony would never be in the spotlight again, but someone has to offer PR for both SI and the Avengers, and he knows he’s the best man for the job.
Tony stands watching Peter leave. Unbeknownst to him, one sneaky reporter watched the whole exchange. She takes a few pictures and commits them to memory. She’ll strike when the time is correct.

“What do you think I should do?” Tony asks Pepper and Rhodey when they meet for dinner. “Should I ask him? Because I don’t want him to think that he has to, and you know how he is. He’s a people pleaser.”
“I think it should definitely be up to him,” Pepper tells him. “You just have to know how to word it.”
“I know. I want him to know that I love him and want to support him with whatever life he chooses.”
Rhodey takes his arm in his hand, “You’ll be fine. He loves you and you love him.”
“Yea, I know. I, I just get nervous that he’s going to regret meeting me. What if I act like Howard? You know how I get with binges.”
Pepper shoots him with a look so withering that he wants to shrivel up. He concedes, “Ok, ok. I’m just insecure. Thanks guys.”

“How’s the falafel?” Tony asks, pointing his fork at Peter.
Peter smiles, “It’s delicious. How’s the curry chicken?”
“Ugh. It’s so good. Bruce would be so proud.”
They eat in silence for a few minutes until Tony speaks up, “Can I run something past you?”
Peter straightens up. “Sure! What’s up?”
“I, ah, was thinking… how do you want to come out as my son and heir to Stark Industries?”
“Like… tell the media?”
“Yeah… I know it’s a big decision, and one that can’t be reversed if you decide to go for it, so I’m going to give you time to think. And I just want you to know that however you choose to go with this, I fully support you.” Tony smiles at Peter.
“Thanks dad. I just… I hate that the paparazzi treats you. What if they treat me like that?”
“Then they will have an angry father to deal with.”
Peter smiles, then sighs. “I’ll think about it… just give me some time.”
“All the time you need. I’m here for you.” Tony stands up and hugs Peter.
“Thanks Dad. I know. I love you.”

Two weeks later, Peter’s mind is made up for him. He and Tony are out getting lunch at his favorite Chinese place when a swarm of photographers and reporters gather outside.
Tony doesn’t realize until too late that they are here for Peter. They attack like vultures as he and the kid leave the building. “Tony! Is this your son? What’s his name? Mr. Stark! Kid, what’s your name?” Tony can feel Peter shrinking in on himself.
“Get. Out. Of. My. Way.” Tony growls.
“Peter Parker. You used to work for the Bulletin, right?” Someone asks. “You’re Tony Stark’s kid?”
Peter squeaks but huddles close to Tony’s side. Tony pushes through the crowd to push Peter into the back seat of his Rolls Royce. Once Peter is secure, he turns to the sea of reporters. “I need you to fucking step out of the way and leave us alone. He’s a kid, not a circus animal. Go find someone else to bother.”
“Mr. Stark. Who is he?” Voices all meld together.
“If any of you tries to follow to interview the kid, I will make your life hell. Remember that.” He slides in beside Peter.
“Hey,” Peter grabs his arm, and only then is when Tony realizes he was shaking. “Thank you, but I think we should put a message out. Is there any reporter we can trust?”
“As long as you’re sure, I can call one that I’ve dealt with before.”
Within two hours, one Christine Everhart arrives at Stark Tower to interview a protective parent and his newly found son.

In the morning, Peter sends Tony a link to a Vanity Fair article with a 😊 emoji. Tony reads it and thanks God that he has an ally in Christine. She’ll scare the others off.
Going down to breakfast, Tony is happy to see Peter eating a bowl of cereal before school. “Hey kid.”
“Hey Dad. Thanks for helping me yesterday.”
“Anything for you, Pete. I love you.”
“I love you, too, Dad.”

2000 Follower Iron Dad Fic Raffle
2000 followers is a HUGE milestone, and I want to celebrate it with you! I’ve been teetering back and forth on the edge of it for a year, now, which is kind of wild 😂 but I seem to have settled pretty solidly in the 2k zone now.
I currently have 19 published works on Ao3, and a few Tumblr-exclusive drabbles. I have many more ideas, but a lot of them are complicated and will probably take me a long time to actually write, especially since I'm not the fastest writer in the world to begin with.
With that in mind, I am raffling fic requests to 3 followers! They will be chosen randomly 2 weeks after this post goes up.
Requirements for entry are as follows:

This raffle is for the IRON DAD fandom, specifically! Fics will be centered around the platonic father-son relationship between Tony Stark and Peter Parker, though other characters may be included (see below). I will not be writing fics for any other fandom at this time.

Writer Games for Writer Friends
Disclaimer: I've only ever played these as 2-player games, and with online friends through texts, so that's how I'm going to describe them, BUT these can probably be adapted to include more players with a little adjusting, and some games could be played in person. Also not all of these can be played by fanfic-only writers since many of these rely on either having OCs or your own made up world, but these could also be changed or adapted to turn it into a fanfic writing game

Question Game 1
Instructions: The most basic of writing games here, Player 1 asks a question about Player 2's wip, P2 answers then asks a question and P1 answers it, then P2 asks--and that basically goes on until either you get bored or (and more likely) one of you has to go do something and are tragically torn away from the game.
Requirements: Very little requirements here, all you need is a very basic wip idea, fanfic or OG, I've played this game with people who've only had two characters and little to no setting yet, and we ended up playing for literally hours with just that. This is a really good game for people who don't have a lot to their story yet, because it forces them to think up answers to the questions their playing partner asks, therefore filling out their story/world more
Suggestions: None, this is, again, super basic haha
Question Game 2
Instructions: Similar to the first one, only you have a ask game list from tumblr to help. Basically the same game as the first one, but the questions you send are from one specific ask game post
Requirements: Again, very few requirements, all you need is an ask game post (just look up "OC ask game" or "writing/writer ask game" etc), and a wip, fanfic or OG. Some ask games assume you have a more thought out wip/are in the middle of writing a wip, so just make sure to choose a post that fits where you and your friend are at in your stories.
Suggestions: In my games we usually stay within one ask post, so no asking questions from other ask posts
Crossover Reaction Game
Instructions: Ok this is probably one of my favorite games on the list. P1 picks a character from their own wip, and asks P2 "How would your characters react to my character?" P2 then goes down their list of characters, saying how each one would feel about P2's character. Usually "your characters" just means the main character + other important characters, but you can ask about specific side characters too. Once that question is answered, P2 picks one of their own characters and asks the same question to P1. The game continues until all characters have "met" each other.
If you're wondering what I mean by "react", I mean "how would your characters feel about my character upon first meeting them" or "would your character(s) be friends with mine down the line?" Basically P1 and P2 are creating an AU together where their characters meet and interact with each other, and you're taking turns telling each other how that would go.
Requirements: You need to have an OG wip. You need to know your own character's personalities well, and you need to know your friends characters fairly well, so you can properly figure out how your own characters would react to them. If the only thing you know about your friend's characters is their names, maybe try playing one of the Question Games first
Suggestions: None really? As long as you meet the requirements you should be good to go
Rumor Game
Instructions: This game is actually a little similar to roleplaying but... not quite haha. To quote my friend when they made this game: "Compose a conversation with the other person about the characters as if the other person is a newcomer to the society and you're filling them in on the local gossip pog???" And that's it, that's the game. Similar to the first question game, but P1 pretends to be a traveler, and P2 pretends to be some NPC-type character that fills them in on local news. Once P1 gets their conversation done, it's P2's turn to be the traveler and ask questions. This is a dramatic game and going as off-the-walls as possible is encouraged. Not everything the NPC says will be true because that's how gossip works, so feel free to go wild with it.
Requirements: You need to have an OG wip. You need know your story as well as your friend's story quite well so that you can ask good, interesting questions. You'll also need to be good at thinking of said questions to ask, there's not really a list of questions that will help you with this game haha.
Suggestions:
Ask specific NPCs questions: You'll get different answers if you ask a child NPC a question vs if you ask an adult NPC the same question, so as the traveler feel free to specify who you're asking your questions to.
Switch up your traveler's personality too, different personalities will react to differently to gossip/ask different questions, feel free to mess with this
Don't play as one of your actual characters, this is a game about the most no-name people in the story, the helpless civilians in the superhero movie that get two seconds of screen time. You're playing the people who gossip about what the heroes are doing without knowing the whole story
Emoji Game
Instructions: I've only played this using discord emojis, but it'll work with other emoji sets as well. P1 sends a series of emojis, and P2 has to guess what character from P1's wip the set of emojis represents. Once P2 guesses it, it's P2's turn to send emojis. The game ends when you run out of characters to send emojis about
Requirements: Emojis and characters to guess, so this can work for fanfic wips or OG wips. You also need to know each other's characters fairly well so that you can make an actual guess at what the character might be
Suggestions: In my games, you have to send one emoji from each section of emojis. So one People emoji, one Nature, one Food, etc etc. This can also be done using only one emoji for the other person to base their guess on, but I find it more fun to send a series of emojis
Find The Word Game
Instructions: This game is most easily explained with a scenario
P1: How many times does "help" show up in your wip?
P2: Choose a number between 1-108
P1: 57
P2: "“Hello, how may I help you?” a man said, appearing from another room. His greeting was less cheery than the woman at the shelter."
Basically, you use the search function in your word processor to see how many times a word comes up in your wip, and then have the other person choose a number. Then you send them the sentence/paragraph it shows up in! This game can last for hours, especially if you both have a lot written of your wip.
Requirements: You have to have a good amount of your wip written already for this to work, the longer the better. This can be a fanfic wip or an OG wip.
Suggestions: In my games, there's no repeating the last word you sent to get a different sentence, we choose a different word each time. It forces you to think of more possible words. Also avoid super common words like "the" or "a" or something like that, that's just boring. It's also more fun if you haven't read each other's stories yet, that way you can ask questions about the sentences you get sent, BUT it still works and is fun if you've already read each other's stories

Okay okay. Since you’re asking for ultimate favorites, but since you’re also in a sense kind of asking for recommendations, I’ll do you a solid and give you a list of fifteen (which is really doing myself a solid because it means there are fewer that I have to narrow down).

This is a mini Hogwarts AU that I absolutely ADORE and think about at least once a week. The way the author melds the two universes is incredible and so well done, and I quote it all the time.
One-shot, IronFam centric, featuring Ned and MJ, with special guest appearances from the other Avengers and Peter’s classmates. No major warnings.
2. Everybody Loves Skip by @baloobird
Okay, Kris is my favorite MCU fanfic author of all time, so you’ll see her on here a couple of times. This is by far my favorite story of hers, and it’s what made me fall in love with Interwebs. <3 <3

I read this story as a part of last year’s Irondad Big Bang, and let me tell you, I was SOOO invested. I got to the point where I had to send in play by play reactions because I was so emotionally invested. The story is so well told. <3

ANOTHER Irondad Big Bang 2020 story that I became OVERLY invested in to the point that I had to send play by plays in to the author. It’s a Room AU, and she NAILS each and every one of the character dynamics. I never even saw Room, and I loved it. <3

Yet ANOTHER Irondad Big Bang 2020 story that hit me right in the feels. This is a canon-divergent post-Infinity War fic, and the way the author shows how events could’ve transpired is so realistic and beautiful. <3

This is one of her more recent ones, but it’s one of my faves, even with all the whump (being Whumptober and all). It has a positive ending, I promise.

@justme--emily is an amazing writer and the queen of Penny Parker fics! All their stories are great but I highly recommend their Tiny Penny Parker series and Bio Son Peter Parker series! (Here’s their master list)
@jen27ny writes some of the best Irondad one shots I’ve ever read, and their Bio!Dad series Was That a Star Wars Reference, Dr Stark? is one of my all time favourite Irondad fics! (Master list)
@i-am-irondad is a phenomenal writer, and they just nail the Ironfamily dynamics so well! Come, My Darling, Homeward Bound is one of my favourites, but do mind the warnings because it does cover sensitive topics 😄 (Ao3)

164 in nearly 3 years.
What’s your total ao3 word count?
1,506,973, which seems excessive. lol.
How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
I have only ever writen for the Marvel/Irondad and Spiderson Fandom.
What are your top five fics by kudos?
A Parent Apparent (528718 words) with 5991 kudos (Probably because I was updating this fic for over a year. 😂)
What I Really Need is You (18520 words) with 2352 kudos
Distracted by a Dime (56169 words) with 1428 Kudos (Which makes me happy because I love this one!!)
Suspended (3607 words) with 1387 kudos
Of All Days... (4688 words) with 1368 kudos (Of course a sickfic had to make my top five.)
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I always try to respond to comments. Someone took the time to say something nice to me. I want to take the time to knowledge that.
What’s the fic you’ve written with the most angsty ending?
Hmm... I don't write a lot of angsty ending so I'm so to say it's Probably, 'Breathe, Kid (You're Not Alone)' That fic explores the aftermath of Peter loosing his best friend (Ned) and of course their's no solving that. Peter is struggling hard to accept it. But it does end with some hope for recovery.
Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Occasionally but it's very rare. Generally, I will either ignore it or roll with it, depending on my mood that day.
Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I have never written any kind of smut. It's just not my thing.
What’s your all time favourite ship?
Oh! That's tough! I love spideychelle A LOT. And I love Pepperony! But I also like to see Tony Stark Paired with with James Rhodes or Steve Rogers. It's fun to see the different dynamics.
What’s a WIP that you still want to finish, but you don’t think you ever will?
Well, I have a WIP that has Peter Parker battling with and recovering from severe depression. I have written four chapters over the last year or so but I'm not sure I will ever post any of it.
What are your writing strengths?
I think I do dialogue/banter pretty well.
What are your writing weaknesses?
Endings! I have the hardest time figuring out how to wrap things up!!
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
I don't mind it.

Happy (late) FFWF! Which fanfic writers inspire you and why?

ADHFKAKDFLJKD OMG!!! SO MANY!!!
Okay, first of all, basically any fan fiction writer I've read has become an inspiration to me in some way. Every single author out there is incredible, and they always inspire me to continue writing and keep putting my ideas out there, so thank you to all of the writers out there!! <3 <3
I definitely do have a few stands outs though.
First of all, you, plus @jolinarjackson and @i-am-irondad. Besides being amazing writers that I adore, after I read all of your stories for the Irondad Big Bang 2020 (Ohana, Friendly Fire, and Come My Darling, Homeward Bound, respectively), I was so impressed with how complex and well-thought out they were! As such, for this year's Irondad Big Bang, I started my story really early and put a lot of thought into it in the hopes of trying to, at the very least, skim the surface of how deep and beautiful your stories were. :) (Also, Jenny and Jolinar, I am so sorry I haven't finished your Irondad Big Bang stories for this year! I promise I will!)
@ironfamjam, in general, is an amazing author, but in particular, she inspired me to include more of Peter and Morgan's relationship in my stories, plus Peter, Ned, and MJ's relationship, because of how much I love those dynamics in all of her writing--especially in More Ancient Than Magic.
Most of all, though, my biggest inspiration for writing has been, and probably always will be, @baloobird. Kris is the whole reason I even started writing MCU fan fiction to begin with. I found her stories, and I got hooked. She pulled me into Irondad and Spiderson fan fiction like nobody's business, and eventually, I felt like I could start writing my own! She's gotten me into various ships (most notably, InterWebs) and inspired me to include more asexual characters in my fics and be more open about my own asexuality. Even now, she constantly inspires new ideas in my brain, and besides being an incredible writer, she's also an incredible friend. I will always appreciate her for everything she's taught me and all the support she's shown me! <3 <3

1. @madasthesea
I've mentioned them many times, and honestly I need to say them more. Their fics are what jumpstarted my love for irondad with their sleepy oneshot. I adore their music recommendations and I listen to them often!! I know they don't write irondad much anymore, but I still love to reread their fics! They have so much talent for fluff and angst!! 💕💕
2. @winter-turtle
I've seen many of Winter's fics come up when I search for some good hurt/comfort irondad, and I love it all! They have some mad talent for multichapter fics and series, I wish I had that motivation 😂 I live for their villain irondad series!!
3. @baloobird
I adore them with all my heart!! I found their fics in my early fan stage and couldn't stay away!! I adore their ace hc with Peter and Tony! They have some really really good fics. Lilac Means Family is my favorite of theirs with all the fluff and jokes 🥰
