How about a popular reader x unpopular yandere>
It was lunch break and you sat together with your classmates inside the classroom, eating your food. Today's topic was the new horror movie coming out soon, you'd all seen the trailer and it seemed scary. It was one of those 'robot turns evil and starts murdering people' kind of film, and you were totally up to see it.
"Bro, did you see her face? Now that's what I call scary.'' your friend Taro said in an exited voice.
"Yeah, bet you shat yourself when you saw the trailer." Hana joked and snorted at him, Taro in return gave her a 'really?' look.
"Haha, very funny."
"I agree, I'd love to see the way you'll scream when we actually go watch it. It'll be the best moment of my life." you said, following in Hana's footsteps.
"Oh no, not you too. Bullying is bad, you know. You could get expelled."
"The only one getting expelled here is you, we saw what you did to that Mitsuki girl in 3A. Not to mention that other younger student." another one of your friends reminded him with a smirk gracing his lips. "Mitsuki was not looking good, I'll tell you. You need to stop tormenting these poor people or it'll come back and bite you one day." he mocked.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever." in the corner of Taro's eye, he noticed a certain boy enter the classroom and glancing around until he spotted your group. Taro smiled deviously, "well, talking about sad people," he turned to face you, "there is one right there."
Looking in the direction of which your friend pointed in, you realised what he was talking about and sighed at the sight. Sano Yamada, your boyfriend. Actually, you didn't know he he really was your boyfriend. It's not like you loved him or anything. How could you? Not with that plain face, boring fashion and lack of social life. He wasn't exactly a popular one...
Why are you with him, then? Because it's fun. Since no one liked him and he clearly liked you(far more than you would've enjoyed), your friends thought it'd be fun to pull a little prank on him. The joke was simple, ask him to meet you on the roof after school and 'confess' to him before revealing the truth. Your friends thought it'd be hilarious to watch him make a fool out of himself, so you agreed to partake in this.
That's how things were supposed to go. Just be a little mean and then go home like nothing happened, but the world had different plans it seemed. For when the time came for things to go down, Sani got too caught up in joy that he failed to notice you weren't done, you hadn't gotten the chance to spill the beans that it was all fake and you weren't even close to liking him. You wished to fix things so you didn't have to date him, but your friends wouldn't let you. They believed it would be fun if you simply didn't say anything and kept going out with Taro.
So that is how you ended up with an unwanted boyfriend.
"Hello," Sano said as he reached the put-together tables you were seated at. "how's it going?" Is he was trying to adapt to your group of friends and impress them. He sadly didn't succeed.
The others gave him a tight lipped smile and answered shortly with a small 'it's fine'. You could not help but sigh again at his presence, the two of you didn't even share any lessons, did he really have to be there? Understanding you were the reason for his unexpected visit, you still asked, "Sano, what a surprise. What are you doing here, aren't you supposed to be with your own class?"
He didn't pick up on your irritation and replied to your question with a kind smile, "Yeah, but I missed you so much that I thought I could come here instead." Blushingly he turned his gaze to the floor, still somewhat shy in front of you.
"Oh..that's so..sweet." You forced yourself to at least look like you enjoyed his gestures and loving gaze. Taro and the others covered their mouths to hide their snickers, you pretended not to notice. How you wished Hana was the one Sano liked, not you.
"Can I join?'' Sano wondered and pointed at a free chair next to him nobody was using.
"Eh, sure."
Ha thanked you and pulled the chair close to the tables and sat down. Giving their last mocking laughs, they stopped after you sent them stink eye. After that conversation continued on like normal. Though he'd been allowed to join you, Sano didn't dare say anything and only sat there quietly. Just like a shadow. Just like it'd always been. There but not there at the same time, unnoticed and ignored. That's how most of sano's life has played out.
"-yesterday me and Taro talked, and we thought it would be cool if we all went to mall tomorrow."
"Need those new clothes, y'know." Taro chimed in and gestured to his body.
"You in?" Hana asked and looked at you.
"Yeah, of course." you said happily, you needed to do a little shopping yourself anyway.
"Cool, we can see if we can find those dresses we didn't buy last time!"
Last time you went to the shopping centre, you discovered two beautiful dresses but sadly weren't able to but them at the time because you two were broke as hell. You were pretty sure you only had like three dollars in your bak account. While you thought you were bad, you didn't even wish to think about Hana's economy.
"Good idea, I really liked it and-"
"-sorry to cut in,'' an anxious voice had interrupted you, "but aren't we going on a date tomorrow?" Sano put his hand over yours and squeezed it, "remember?"
Right. You totally forgot. You werre supposed to go on a date with Sano this weekend, he'd inquired about it nonstop for almost three weeks now and there was only so much you could take before giving in to his demands. You thought it better to simply get it over with so he'll shut up and leave you alone for a while.
"Right, I forgot. Sorry" you apologised in an obvious fake tone.
Sano nodded, signalling he accepted your apology. He didn't see how you scowled at him behind his back when he wasn't looking.
-
Lunch time had now passed and school was almost over, the weekend fun could soon begin. Which everyone was happy over, perhaps the teacher's more than anyone.
'I shouldn't have drunk so much water.' Sano thought to himself as he wandered through the halls of the building.
Entering the boys bathroom he saw it as empty, and proceeded to open the stall door stall and lock it. But right as he was going to get down to business, he heard the door opening and others coming in. The voices weren't of people he recognise, so he didn't plan to bother with it. However, when the conversation went in a direction related to him, he had no choice but to secretly listen in.
"You know that (Yn) girl from class 3C?"
"Yeah, of course, she's hot as fuck."
"Right, but have you seen that guy who follows her around all the time?" The voice mentioned in a rude way, making it clear he did not mean well.
"I've seen him a couple times. Not the best face, if you get what i mean." The second voice said and laughed.
"Hahaha, he's not a prince charming that's for sure."
They didn't realise the person they were talking ill of were very much within hearing range and listened to every word that came out of their mouths. Sano stood there, completely frozen. Taking in what they said. Was that really how people saw you and him? While he knew he was no social butterfly and you were well liked by many in contrast to himself, he didn't think it was something people actually brought up.
"I don't get why she doesn't leave him. There are surely better guys in school, she's bound to fall for one of them."
"You mean someone like Haruto?"
The other voice exclaimed, "Exactly! Someone like Haruto is a much better fit for her, he's well in her league. "
After that Sano heard some more bustling noises, and then it was silence. He poked his head out to confirm they had indeed left. The boy decided to goo back to class, his reason for leaving now forgotten. He piled over the two students words. Were they right? Did people actually believe someone else was a better choice for you. But that couldn't be true. He was yours and you were his. You belonged together.
That's what you felt too. You must, what would he do if you didn’t? No, you have to love him. Otherwise you wouldn’t have confessed to him so sweetly that day on the roof. He tried convincing himself that he was the love of your life like you were his, something too him it wasn’t like that though.
He wondered if you actually would leave him if someone better showed up. Someone like Haruto. Those two students from earlier weren’t wrong at all, Haruto was great. At many things. He was liked by everyone, he was good at sports, good at being funny and he just had to be good-looking too.
Much more than Sano, which hurt pretty bad. He hated to admit it but you and Haruto would make a better couple. He was jealous. Very jealous. He’d have to prove he was the perfect one for you. Sano couldn’t let anyone come and steal you away!
Sano would show you how good of a boyfriend he can be and your date tomorrow would be a glorious opportunity for that.

If someone gets mad at you for playing into a joke they made about you, it wasn't a joke. It took me years figuring that one out because I struggled with social cues, but now that I know that red flag, the second I see it, I shut down from that friendship.

It is so disappointing when you believe someone is going to be with you for the rest of your life, then all of a sudden they aren’t there for you anymore. I’ll always admire and support them from afar, but I wish I could be close to them again.

im so sick of toxic friends victimising themselves and making it seem like it's my fault and not understanding what other people feel and think despite claiming to have the highest EQ in our friend group and then making me feel like shit 24/7 like its not that hard to have some awareness and consideration for other people without making everything about urself all the time and playing like they're hurt by me standing up for myself

Kaebedo Week 2023 Day 7 - Waiting (Free Day)
Albedo is distracted. Has been for that last two days, if he’s being honest and he blames it all on Kaeya.
Kaeya would never admit to sticking to a schedule but he comes to visit Albedo during his time in Dragonspine at least once, usually. This time however, Kaeya hasn’t shown up in almost two weeks and it’s throwing Albedo off.
Sure, Kaeya never promised to come by, never so much as said “See you soon” when Albedo left and still—he always comes to visit Albedo.
Except this time.
Albedo wonders if Kaeya has been sent on a mission or if he’s otherwise occupied and hasn’t shown up because of that but even then—he usually takes time to let Albedo know these kinds of things. A message is usually what he sends and even that hasn’t reached Albedo.
And it’s enough to distract Albedo thoroughly from his work. It’s a good thing he’s scheduled to go back down to Mondstadt tomorrow, anyway, because otherwise he might have needed to cut his time in the mountain short this time.
The worry is nagging at him every second and he couldn’t stand a day longer but one more night he can do. One more night to wrap everything here up and then return home to find Kaeya and figure out what’s going on.
It’s likely he’s worrying for nothing. At least he hopes he is.
Albedo sighs and discards his current experiment. He made a mistake some five steps ago and he is in no headspace to do it again but that leaves him with nothing to do.
He briefly debates if he should leave for Mondstadt today, but maybe Kaeya is on his way to pick him up to escort him back down and it wouldn’t do to miss him. So Albedo stays right where he is, staring at absolutely nothing and worrying his head off, just waiting for the night to pass so he can finally leave.
But all of his resolution vanishes the moment he sees a Dodoco firework explode over the city in the middle of the night. Yoimiya made a few for Klee during their trip to Inazuma and Albedo and Kaeya made Klee promise to only use them if she’s in danger or if something is very, very wrong.
So the sight of it now has Albedo in a panic.
He doesn’t bother to properly pack his things and he forces himself to not spare another thought for Kaeya; if he’s on his way up the mountain to pick Albedo up, he’ll have seen the firework as well and he will be returning to Mondstadt, too.
Albedo will probably meet him in the city, and with that thought he almost runs down the mountain. The trip that usually takes him the better half of a day is over in two mere hours and still, it feels like too much time. He doesn’t know what’s happening to Klee and he dreads the thought that he might already be too late.
There is barely enough time to be relieved when Mondstadt comes into view and it’s not in flames like Albedo almost expected but before that thought can fully take hold, he spots Klee on the bridge to the main entrance to Mondstadt.
It’s long past her bedtime, is the first thing that comes to Albedo’s mind strangely enough, but it is followed by a relief so acute it almost makes his knee buckle.
She’s whole and not hurt.
“Klee!” he calls out even though he’s still a short distance away from the bridge, but she must have picked it up because she bursts into tears almost immediately.
“Big brother Albedo,” she hiccups and stands rooted to the spot until he gets to her.
He immediately picks her up, subtly checking her over and breathing a sigh of relief when he can’t find a visible injury.
“What’s wrong? Klee, what’s wrong, you know you’re not supposed to use the emergency fireworks for nothing.”
“Klee knows,” she cries out and throws her tiny arms around his neck. “But this is an emergency!”
“What’s going on?” Albedo asks and smoothes a hand down her back. “What’s wrong, little spark?”
It seems to be the wrong thing to say to her because she only cries harder and it takes him a good five minutes to get her to calm down enough so she can talk.
“Big brother Kaeya is missing,” Klee finally tells him and Albedo’s stomach drops out.
“What?”
“He’s missing but no one will listen to Klee and no one is doing anything.” She’s crying again, though softer this time and Albedo cups her cheek in his hand.
“What do you mean he’s missing?”
“Klee means that he hasn’t been in the city for a few days. He told Klee he is going to visit big brother Albedo but he didn’t come back and he didn’t tell Klee he was going somewhere else. He always tells Klee.”
She lets out a sob again and Albedo pulls her towards his chest once more. Albedo’s heart flutters in his chest in fear because Klee is right. Kaeya never leaves without telling her either where he’s going or at least that he’s leaving.
For him to vanish like that—it can only spell trouble.
“Where is Jean, Klee?” Albedo asks and he forces himself to be calm.
“She won’t listen to Klee,” Klee sobs out, clinging hard to Albedo and he can feel her small form shake.
“She will listen to me, though,” he promises her and makes his way into the city.
He spots light in Jean’s office as soon as the headquarters come into view and so he simply marches on. Klee is still sniffling slightly in his arms by the time he makes his way into Jean’s office and he’s long past worrying if he’s being rude by simply barging in.
“Albedo,” she says, clearly surprised. “I didn’t expect you to be back so early.”
“Where is Kaeya?” he demands to know instead of answering her. “What is being done to find him?”
“Being done to find him?” she asks, confusion clear in her voice but then her eyes fall on Klee. “Ah, I see. Albedo, there’s no need to worry.”
“What do you mean, no need to worry. Klee said he hasn’t been seen in days.”
“That just happens sometimes. You know how he is. Sometimes he just vanishes like that.”
Albedo simply stares at her.
It might have been something Kaeya did before he became such a fixture in Klee’s—and Albedo’s—life, but ever since he took on some co-parenting duties—ever since this thing that’s been growing between him and Albedo—he never leaves without telling at least one of them.
“He never just vanishes like that,” Albedo gives back. “He said he was going to visit me, but he never arrived in my camp and clearly he hasn’t been back. Has no one been looking for him all this time?”
“Albedo,” Jean starts, and he can already tell that he’s not going to like what she has to say next. “I know that he made you and Klee believe he’s more reliable than that but the truth is—he really isn’t. He’s one of the best Captains we have, I’ll admit that, but as a friend—” she trails off with a sigh. “He always comes and goes as he pleases and his flirting is never meaningful. I’m sorry, Albedo. I know that you thought something different.”
Albedo can do nothing but stare at her with growing horror because she clearly believes what she’s saying.
“No!” Klee yells out and almost throws herself out of Albedo’s arms in the process. “You’re wrong! Big brother Kaeya would never leave Klee alone.”
Jean’s words set her off again, making her cry out big, heaving sobs once more and just for that Albedo wants to sneer at Jean.
“I see I was wrong to come here for help,” Albedo forces himself to calmly say. “Do not trouble yourself with us further.”
He doesn’t wait for Jean to answer and simply marches back out of her office but he’s not so quick to shake the anger off. Kaeya not reliable. Unbelievable. Kaeya is the only reliable person in this entire town because he will always be there for Klee and Albedo. He would never just leave and he would never make Klee worry like that. Never make Albedo worry like that.
It angers Albedo beyond belief that no one in the city seems to know Kaeya like they do.
Albedo carries a still crying Klee to Kaeya’s apartment, which he finds empty of course. But it won’t be for much longer, Albedo will make sure of that.
“Klee, listen to me,” he says as he sits her down on the couch. “I’ll go looking for Kaeya. But I need you to stay here.”
“No,” Klee immediately protests and fists her hands in his jacket. “Klee can help!”
“And Klee will help. I need someone here to tell me if he comes back. Clearly I can’t trust anyone else to do it, right, so I need you to do it. If he shows up while I’m still out looking for him, I need you to use your emergency fireworks again. Think you can do that for me?” he gently asks and pries her hands off him to hold them. “Mh, Klee, can you?”
“Yes!” She nods vigorously. “Klee can do that. When big brother Kaeya comes back before you do, I’ll fire them off.”
“Good girl,” Albedo praises her. “You stay right here in his apartment, okay? I’ll come back in time for lunch to check on you, or earlier with him. Don’t wander off to somewhere Kaeya can’t find you, alright?”
“Big brother Kaeya always finds me,” she mumbles, the stress of the day clearly taking a toll on her because her eyes are starting to drop.
“I know. But now it’s our time to find him,” Albedo mutters and eases her down on the couch where she’s asleep before her head even hits the cushion.
Albedo dislikes leaving her alone like this, but he’s not sure anyone in this town would listen to him right now and he’s not about to waste more time. If what Klee said is true—and he has absolutely no reason to doubt her—then Kaeya has been missing for a few days already.
That’s long enough for anyone to end up dead.
Albedo tries to push that thought out of his mind. He can’t allow himself to think that way. Kaeya is more than capable after all and Albedo will surely find him.
With that thought in mind he makes his way out of the city again. It’s tempting to simply rush back to Dragonspine, but Albedo has to think more clearly than that. Kaeya always follows the same route when he goes to visit Albedo and so that is what Albedo will do as well.
He is halfway up the mountain—and growing ever more uneasy with every step he takes—by the time he comes across something.
It’s barely anything, but he knows this mountain in a way not many do and he can tell when a disturbance happened somewhere. Like right in front of him.
He follows what seems to indicate a ruffle a few steps off the path and then his heart springs almost out of his chest because that certainly is blood on the ground.
It’s not promising, not at all, but it’s at least a track Albedo can follow. He doesn’t have to go too far before he hears the tell-tale sing-song of an Abyss mage and his sword is in his hand before he can think clearly.
Albedo carefully makes his way closer to what must be a hidden camp on the mountain and it’s not long before he finally finds it. What he sees makes his blood freeze in his veins though.
There’s not only a cryo Abyss mage but also a Frostarm Lawachurl and Albedo trembles with anger. He finds Kaeya slumped in a corner of the camp and while that makes Albedo sigh with relief he can’t help but to notice that something is wrong.
Kaeya’s leg is completely encased in ice, which probably means it’s broken, and even from this far away Albedo can see blood on his face. Going by the amount of it, it must be a rather nasty headwound.
Albedo must have made a sound because the Abyss mage suddenly looks right at him, bringing his shield up only a second later, but it’s all in vain.
A cold, deadly anger overcomes Albedo and not even the scream of the Lawachurl is enough to deter him anymore. He doesn’t quite remember the fight, but when he comes back to himself both enemies are crushed on the ground.
Usually Albedo would feel horrified by his loss of control, but right now he’s only thankful for it, because it means he can get Kaeya to a healer sooner.
“Kaeya,” Albedo breathes out as he carefully crouches next to him. “Kaeya, can you hear me?”
Kaeya blinks up at him and his eyes are unfocused which only worries Albedo more.
“Sunshine,” he croaks out. “Sorry I’m late.”
“You idiot,” Albedo almost sobs out because of course Kaeya would worry about that and he flutters his hands over Kaeya’s body.
“Are you hurt anywhere except the leg and your head?”
“Ribs,” Kaeya nods but cuts himself off with a wince. “They got me good.”
“They clearly did,” Albedo agrees and curses the fact that Kaeya is so much taller than him. Getting him back to Mondstadt will be a pain.
“We going home?” Kaeya asks him, his energy clearly rapidly leaving him so Albedo is quick to nod.
“Yes. Klee is waiting for you.”
“Must have worried her. And you. Sorry.”
“No, Kaeya, no, don’t apologise. I’ll get you home, alright?”
He waits for an answer and swears when Kaeya doesn’t respond anymore. He seems to have lost consciousness and maybe Albedo should be thankful for that. It allows him to pick Kaeya up much  more easily and most importantly without protest and then he’s off.
His camp in the mountain is closer, but Albedo doesn’t keep any first aid kits there and Kaeya clearly needs a healer as soon as possible, so his only option is back to Mondstadt.
He makes the trip for a third time in a day, and arrives at the gates just a little after breakfast time. Swan is staring at him with wide eyes when Albedo approaches the gate and it makes Albedo unreasonably angry.
“Go and get me a healer. To Kaeya’s apartment,” he snaps out and doesn’t wait for Swan to answer before he’s off.
Albedo knows that he shouldn’t allow Klee to see Kaeya like this but she has been worried enough and he knows that Kaeya prefers the comfort of his own home to the cold and empty rooms in the church.
Albedo shoulders the door to Kaeya’s apartment open and carefully carries him inside. The commotion must have woken up Klee because she comes out of the living-room, rubbing her eyes and clearly still more than half asleep.
“Big brother Kaeya?” she mumbles.
“I’ve got him,” Albedo tells her as he makes his way over to Kaeya’s bedroom. “He’s right here.”
“Big brother Kaeya,” she cries out when she finally takes in the scene and Albedo winces when his eyes fall on all the blood on Kaeya.
Well, there’s nothing to be done about it now.
“Is he dead?” she hiccups out and Albedo immediately shakes his head.
“No, Klee, he isn’t. He’ll be alright again in a few minutes, thanks to you.”
“Thanks to Klee?” She’s still crying but the panic is gone now so she clearly must trust Albedo.
“Thanks to you I found him on time,” Albedo tells her and just as he puts Kaeya down on the bed Barbara comes into the room.
“Kaeya?” she asks and her hands fly to her mouth in shock when she sees them. “Oh, Kaeya!”
She rushes to the bed, her hands coated with her healing water already and Albedo hasn’t even stepped fully back from the bed before she starts.
“What happened?” she wants to know as she works her magic on him and Albedo can’t help the bitter twist of his mouth.
“He was ambushed on his way up the mountain.” Ambushed and held hostage for who knows how long because no one here trusted him to be reliable.
Albedo shudders to think how often this might have happened already; Jean said they all got used to Kaeya vanishing for a few days. If something like this happens every time Kaeya doesn’t make it back home like promised—Albedo feels sick with just the thought.
“Oh no,” Barbara breathes out, her eyes glazed with tears and it seems she doubles her effort of healing him because she is done much sooner than Albedo is used to. “He’ll be alright. I healed what I could; the rest is exhaustion. Give him a day and he’ll be as good as new.”
“Thank you, thank you, thank you,” Klee cries out and rushes forward to hug Barbara, sparing Albedo from having to say anything.
“I’ll see myself out,” Barbara says with a pat to Klee’s head and then she’s gone as quickly as she arrived.
Albedo knows he should inform Jean about what happened, but he doesn’t feel in the mood to leave Kaeya or talk to her right this moment, so he gingerly sits down on the bed.
“Kaeya?” he carefully asks and is rewarded for it when Kaeya’s eyes flutter open.
“Petal. And my little spark,” he mutters out, clearly still out of it, but it’s enough to get Klee crying again.
“You’re not dead!” she cries and then throws himself at Kaeya before Albedo can stop her.
“Uff,” Kaeya groans out but it seems to have woken him up a bit more. “Albedo. What happened?”
“You were captured,” Albedo says and the memory seems to come back to Kaeya.
“Right. They came prepared this time. What happened to them?”
“I handled them,” Albedo says with a pointed look at Klee but Kaeya seems to understand him anyway. Albedo very pointedly does not comment on the ‘this time’ Kaeya mentioned. They will talk about this later.
“How long—”
“Too long,” Albedo bitterly spits out. “No one here believed Klee when she said something happened to you and I didn’t even know before today.”
“Ah, I see,” Kaeya mutters and hugs Klee close. “So I’m back thanks to you, mh, my little spark?”
“Klee was so worried,” she cries out in answer and Kaeya hugs her even closer. “No one wanted to believe Klee when she said you wouldn’t just vanish like that.”
“But Albedo believed you, didn’t he?”
“Of course I did. I know you wouldn’t just leave like that,” Albedo is quick to say, unwilling to let Kaeya doubt him even for a moment. “I know you better than that.”
“I wouldn’t,” Kaeya agrees. “Especially not you.” He still has his arms full with Klee but he somehow manages to extract an arm anyway and he doesn’t hesitate to take Albedo’s hand in his, threading their fingers together.
“I knew something was wrong,” Albedo admits, his voice quiet. “You always come to visit me.”
“Were you waiting for me?” Kaeya tries to joke but he falls quiet when Albedo simply looks at him.
“Of course I was,” he honestly gives back and squeezes Kaeya’s hand. “I’m always waiting for you.”
“Ah, petal, that’s—” Kaeya is visibly flustered by that and Albedo gives him a small smile.
“Let’s be done with waiting, okay?” he asks and leans forward to press a kiss to Kaeya’s head. “Sleep for a while, you must be exhausted. I’ll make you both some food.”
Klee already drifted off in Kaeya’s arms and the exhaustion is written all over Kaeya’s face as well.
“Sounds good.” He hesitates for a moment. “Promise you’ll be here when I wake up?”
“I’m not going anywhere,” Albedo promises immediately to Kaeya’s visible delight.
And that’s a promise he intends to keep.

why do I feel like people are sooo nice when they first find out about your mental problems or sh but like a month later the novelty and their ability to care dwindles away and they stop caring at all? They stop checking if your ok. They stop asking about bl00d or new cuts. They stop responding to cry’s for help. They stop caring. And then once again your left to deal with everything alone. Why does it keep happening? Why does it hurt so bad every time? I’m sad again and tired. Might relapse. Idk.
edit: I did lol.

When you put your trust into someone and ask them for an advice, and what they give you is “It’s your fault and you’re failure for struggling in the first place”, these people are just marking themselves as ‘‘not a good person to come to in the time of need.’
They might as well be saying “I don’t know anything about solutions, but I feel like blaming you, so that I feel in control and assured that this could never happen to me”, and that’s about the least useful they could be. They fail to understand even the simple fact that it can happen to anyone, and they refuse to understand it, because then it could happen to them, and they can’t live with that. In order to protect themselves from this reality, they’ll point fingers and victim blame without even feeling guilty, sometimes they’ll get angry that the problem even exists.
Another reason they might be saying it, is that they’re invested in you failing to blame the actual cause, which might be them, or someone they’re protecting. But it’s never true. You’re never at fault for struggling. You’re never a failure for going thru rough shit. You can’t even come close.
