A Lot Like Ragatha (TADC! Nursery AU)
Plot: Ragatha tries to get the other babies to be like her, only for them to get irritated by her.

It was near the end of lunch, and Ragatha and Zooble were still eating in their highchairs in the kitchen. Caine was washing the dishes.
“Zoobster, come on! Let’s go play,” Jax said impatiently.
“I’m hurrying,” Zooble rolled their eyes. “And don’t call me Zoobster.”
Once Zooble finished eating, Caine flew over to them and wiped their mouth clean with a washcloth.
“There you go,” Caine said as he lifted Zooble from their highchair.
Zooble and Jax left the kitchen to go play. After Ragatha finished eating, Caine wiped her mouth and hands with another washcloth. He was about to let her down until she stopped him.
“Wait, Caine, I want to stay and help you clean up,” Ragatha offered.
“Well, thank you, Ragatha,” Caine smiled. “Aren’t you helpful?”
———
Ragatha spent the next few minutes helping Caine tidy the kitchen. Her job was grabbing the dishes from the dish drainer and passing them over to Caine, who put them in the cupboard.
“Thank you for being Caine’s little helper. Everyone should be a little more like you,” Caine said as he booped Ragatha’s nose and let her down from her highchair.
“Like me?” Ragatha beamed. “Really?”
“Exactly!”
Ragatha happily skipped out of the kitchen and into the playroom, where Gangle was finger painting at the easels.
“Hey, Ragatha, look at this,” Gangle said as she showed Ragatha her painting of a flower.
Ragatha examined the painting and replied, “I don’t see it.”
“Huh? What do you mean?”
“I’ll show you,” Ragatha said as she went over to another easel. “You see, you have to paint nice and neat.”
Ragatha finger-painted delicately until she painted a better version of the flower Gangle painted.
“There, that’s better,” Ragatha stated proudly. “You know, Gangle, you should be a little more like me.”
The ragdoll walked away while Gangle looked at the paintings with confusion.

Paisley, Orchid, and Kinger were having a tea party when Ragatha came by.
“Hey, guys, what are you doing?” Ragatha asked.
“We’re playing tea party with the king,” Orchid said. “Wanna join us?”
“Yeah, wanna play with us?” Paisley invited.
“We have plenty of tea to share,” Kinger said.
“Sure!” Ragatha nodded as she sat down at the table.
“Would you like some tea?”
“Why, yes, Kinger. Thank you.”
Kinger poured some pretend tea into Ragatha’s teacup.
“Cookie?” Paisley asked as she offered a plate of cookies to Ragatha.
“Yes, thank you,” Ragatha nodded as she took a cookie.
Paisley then passed the plate to Orchid, who also took a cookie.
“These are amazing,” Orchid commented as they passed the plate to Kinger.
“Did you make these cookies yourself?” Kinger asked.
“Thank you, Orchid, and no, Kinger. However, I did tell Caine and Bubble which ones to get at the store,” Paisley said.
Orchid, Kinger, and Paisley giggled and slurped some of their tea.
“No, no, that’s not how you’re supposed to drink tea. You have to drink it like this” Ragatha disputed as she politely sipped her tea. “See, that’s much better. You know, you three need to be more like me.”
Ragatha stood up and left the table, leaving the rest of the group annoyed.
———
Everyone was outside at the Digital Playground. Zooble, Pomni, and Jax were building sand-castles together. Jax and Zooble were competing against each other.
“My castle’s the best,” Jax boasted.
“No, mine is,” Zooble argued.
Meanwhile, Pomni was just happy building. Her castle wasn’t completely sturdy, but she was proud of her hard work.
“That’s not how you build a castle,” Ragatha said as she came over to the trio. “I’ll show you how it’s done.”
Ragatha grabbed a pail and shovel and began creating a sturdier sandcastle. She even decorated it with rocks and flowers.
“Woah, that’s actually cool,” Pomni remarked.
“Thanks, Pomni. You and everyone here should be a lot more like me.”
Ragatha walked away proudly while Jax and Zooble grew irritated. Pomni was concerened by Ragahta’s behavior.
“You and everyone here should be a lot more like me,” Jax repeated in a mocking tone.
“Ragatha said the same thing to us,” Paisley stated as she, Orchid, Kinger, and Gangle angrily walked over to Jax and Zooble.
“Who wants to be like her, anyway?” Zooble asked as they rolled their eyes.
“We do,” Jax declared.
“Huh?” the rest of the group responded in confusion.
“If Ragdolly wants us to be like her, then we’ll be just like her.”
———
Naptime
The babies were tucked in their cribs for naptime.
Zooble saw Ragatha fluffing her pillow, so they did the exact same thing.
Ragatha snuggled underneath her covers, Zooble snuggled underneath theirs. She noticed what they were doing and was perplexed. She brushed it off and went to sleep.
———
After Naptime…
Ragatha was playing with her teddy bear in the playroom.
“Alright, Bella, it’s time for your nap,” Ragatha said to her stuffed animal. “What’s that? You want your bottle? No need to worry, sweetie, I’ve got it right here.”
Jax and Pomni came by with their respective stuffed toys (Jax - a stuffed carrot; Pomni - a stuffed lion).
“Hey, Ragatha. Can we play dollies, too?” Pomni asked.
“Sure you can!” Ragatha nodded as Pomni and Jax sat down next to her.
“Do you have any bottles so we can feed our babies?”
“Of course! Let me get some for you.”
“Oh, brother…” Jax grumbled. Even though he orginally came up with the plan for everyone to copy Ragatha, he did not want to pretend his own stuffed carrot was his baby.
Ragatha handed Jax and Pomni extra baby bottles.
Pomni began bottle-feeding her stuffed lion.
“Am I doing this right?” Pomni asked Ragatha.
“Yeah, you’re doing right,” Ragatha replied.
“Well, that’s good. We want to be just like you. Right, Jax?”
Jax sighed heavily.
“Jax Jr., forgive me for what I’m about to do,” Jax sighed as he placed the bottle inside Jax Jr.’s mouth.
Ragatha finished feeding Bella and began burping her. Jax and Pomni did the same thing with their stuffed animals.
“Alright, Bella, it’s time for your nap, now,” Ragatha said.
“Are you ready for naptime?” Pomni asked her stuffed lion.
“Are you ready to go sleepy-weepy?” Jax asked his stuffed carrot.
Ragatha tucked Bella in with a blanket that she had.
“Goodnight, Rory,” Pomni cooed at her lion as she tucked it in.
“Nighty-night, Jax Jr.,” Jax said, giving Jax Jr. multiple forehead kisses.
“Ew!” Ragatha winced. “Uh, I think I hear Caine calling.”
Ragatha got up and walked away.
“I don’t feel good about this,” Pomni whispered to Jax.
“Well, do you want Dollface to correct you all the time for the rest of your life?” Jax whispered back, causing Pomni to shake her head. “Then just do what she does and she’ll stop for sure.”
Ragatha walked over to the toy box, where she spotted some jump ropes. She grabbed a jump rope and began skipping. Gangle noticed this and got herself a jump rope.
“Teddy bear, teddy bear, turn around,” Ragatha chanted.
“Teddy bear, teddy bear, turn around,” Gangle repeated.
“Teddy bear, teddy bear, touch the ground.”
“Teddy bear, teddy bear, touch the ground.”
“Teddy bear, teddy bear, tie your shoes.”
“Teddy bear, teddy bear, tie your shoes.”
Ragatha started getting annoyed and began jump-roping faster and faster, prompting Gangle to do the exact same thing. Ragatha jump-roped so fast that she tripped and fell. Gangle tripped and fell, too.
“Gangle, why are you repeating what I’m doing?” Ragatha glared.
“I want to be just like you,” Gangle said as Ragatha stood up and dusted herself off. Gangle dusted herself off, too.
Ragatha sighed heavily until she noticed Paisley, Orchid, and Kinger wearing her favorite shirts. They were also wearing bows on top of their heads. Orchid was carrying Bella in their arms.
“Hey, why are you guys wearing my shirts?” Ragatha angrily asked. “I didn’t say you could play with Bella, Orchid. And why are you three wearing my bows?”
“Well, in order to be like you, we figured we’d use some of your stuff,” Paisley answered.
“Yeah, what Paisley said,” Orchid and Kinger agreed.
“What are you guys talking about?” Ragatha asked.
“What are you guys talking about?” Orchid, Paisley, and Kinger repeated in unison.
“Why are you guys copying everything I say?”
“Why are you guys copying everything I say?”
“Stop it!”
“Stop it!”
“I’m telling Caine!”
“I’m telling Caine!”
“You… just… UGH!”
“You… just… UGH!”
“AUGH!” Ragatha screamed. “Why is everyone copying me?!”
“Gee, didn’t you want everyone to be more like you?” Jax smirked.
“Huh…? What do you mean?”
“You said for us to be like you over and over again,” Zooble stated.
“I did?”
“Yes,” the rest of the babies nodded in unison.
“Oh, wow… I wanted you guys to be like me because Caine said so,” Ragatha said as Caine flew in to the playroom. “Right, Caine?”
“Well, Ragatha, I meant that everyone here should be as helpful as you are; like you were after lunch today,” Caine explained.
“Oh…”
“Everyone has to be themselves. You wouldn’t want Gangle to stop painting, or Paisley, Orchid, and Kinger to stop having their tea parties, or Jax, Pomni, and Zooble to stop building sand castles, would you?”
“Well, no. I’m sorry, everyone,” Ragatha apologized. “I want everyone to be themselves from now on. I promise I won’t change who you are anymore.”
Everyone happily replied with “apology accepted” and “we forgive you”.
“Will you guys keep it down?” Jax shushed as he cradled Jax Jr. in his arms. “You’re gonna wake up Jax Jr.”
