Red shall spill (BadBoyHalo x reader)

More angst because I need motivation... I realize there is a slight Sam x reader and Eret x reader, maybe I’ll grow off that in the future? Idk, let me know what y’all think.

TW - Some blood.

My eyes widened at the piece of paper in my hand, eyes glancing over the words once more,

Dear (Y/N),

I hope you've been well, sorry I haven't been around as much. The eggpire is hosting a banquet and it would mean a lot to me if you joined us. I know we've been in a tough spot recently, but I'm hoping this could show you that I am willing to change for you.

Please wear red, I hope to see you there my love,

I let out a sigh and put the paper onto the kitchen counter, eyebrows knit together in thought. 'On one hand, I could go, chances are I won't be alone. On the other however, that egg is still in the picture, which means I would need to stay on guard' I brought my hand to my face, pinching the bridge of my nose. "Okay." I said to no one in particular, "My mind is made."

~ Time Skip ~

I approached the banquet hall with little hopes, was it foolish of me to go when I know the ‘egg’s’ effect on Bad? Definitely. Was I going anyways because that small part of my brain willed me to see him? Absolutely. Though, once I saw his usual red and black hood stark white, I had an awful feeling about the events that would ensue. I saw everyone, Niki, Puffy, Hannah, Eret, Sam, even Fundy, people of which I trusted, so I headed towards them rather than the demon that had held his arms open for me. As soon as I approached however, Hannah split off with Antfrost. We met eyes and I offered a smile and a wave, but got nothing in return. “(Y/N)? What are you doing here?” I turned my head to see Eret approaching me, bringing me into a hug, “Same as you all, I was invited and wanted to see what this is all about.” Eret let go of the hug and rather grabbed my hand, leading me towards the others, Puffy smiled at me and gave me a side hug, as Eret had yet to let go of my hand, “I guess Bad want’s to ‘turn a new leaf’, you look wonderful by the way.” I smiled at her, “Thank you, as do you all!” This made Eret giggle as she spun me in a circle, only to stop me by putting her hands on my waist, “If I would have known you’d be coming, I would have put more effort in dear.” I laughed along, “You look wonderful Eret, you’ll have to give me your seamstress’s name!” Our conversation was cut short however by Bad’s voice, “Alright everyone! Please hand any items you may have on you to Ponk and follow me!” My eyes met his pure white ones for a moment before two hands were set on either of my shoulders, “C’mon, we’ll be your escorts for tonight.” Sam and Eret both smiled down at me as I nodded, both of them offering me their arm. I linked mine with theirs and we started down the stairs, and into the hall.

“How are you enjoying the party (Y/N)?” Bad was now next to me, offering me a smile. Sam and Eret left me for a moment to speak with Puffy and Niki, which meant I was alone for the time being, “It’s nice, I am happy to see everyone getting along. Thank you for inviting me Bad.” His smile faltered only slightly before it grew even larger than before, “You look wonderful, might I add, I don’t think I’ve seen you wear that outfit before.” I looked down at what I was wearing, a simple (Dress, suit, whatever) “Oh, yeah, I got it for the banquet. I didn’t exactly own any red formal wear.” He nodded in return, still looking at my face. It seemed like he wanted to say something before a clawed paw gently grabbed my arm, “(Y/N)! I haven’t spoken to you in so long, would you like to walk around with me? You know, catch up?” I glanced at the culprit, being Antfrost, and gave an unsure nod, making him practically drag me away from Bad.

This went on for a while, Ant asked me about how I’ve been, leading me down the several pathways in the banquet hall before leaving me for a moment, Bad would show up and talk to me, and then someone else would pull me away. Until everyone was called to the table of course, but even then, I was sat in between Sam and Eret. People were giving speeches, but I didn’t listen, I was too distracted by the feeling of eyes on me. I glanced up and looked around the table, everyone was looking at Puffy, who was currently speaking. Though I kept scanning and met not one, but three sets of eyes. Ant, Hannah, and Bad were all looking at me, though Bad seemed to have a different expression, one of worry? Guilt? ‘Oh no’. I saw his mouth moving, but I couldn’t hear anything, I saw others applauding from the corner of my eyes, but sat still. I came back to my senses as he wrapped up his speech, “In the spirit of, you know, moving things forward. I would just like to say that I was very, very happy that we were able to gather everybody here together, for what is, I’m sure going to be a Banquet that none of us are ever going to forget. And yeah! Thank you for coming, everybody!” He paused and looked me in the eyes before looking away with a grin, “Now, prepare to die.” I could see the lava, I could hear the panicked yells, and yet I still sat, looking at the demon in front of me. “You lied.” My voice was stern as I spoke to him, some people quieted down while others still yelled for help. “Join us (Y/N), please.” I glared at the man in front of me, a man I once loved, “Join you? For some stupid egg? I would rather die.” I heard Puffy talk about knowing Bad was up to something as she pulled back the runner on the table. I heard Hannah say she had to betray them, but none of that mattered to me, what mattered was Bad, standing there, expecting me to join him. Though soon I felt familiar paws on my arms, this time claws dug into my skin making me wince, “Time to stand (Y/N), wouldn’t want to miss the show, now would we?” I was dragged out of my seat and to an angry Bad, “Let them go Ant.” Ant just laughed, slowly dragging his claws downward, “Gotta get them exposed Bad, otherwise they’ll never join us.” Bad scoffed at this, but turned his back to us. I could feel something prick my back as Ant chuckled from behind me, “I wouldn’t move if I were you, this arrow is covered in poison and harming.” I let out a whimper as the effects slightly burned my skin. I couldn’t focus on anything but the crossbow aimed at my back, I heard Puffy scream and looked up to see Foolish fall inside of a box, golden particles floating out. I heard yells and saw Quackity, he gave weapons and potions to others and glanced at me. I heard dogs, Purpled, and Techno, and then took action. I ignored the pain of the arrow piercing my back as I threw my body onto Ant’s, rolling off of him to allow Puffy to take over. Adrenaline coursed through my veins as I approached Eret and Sam, both looking at me in concern. I glanced over my shoulder at Bad as they all left, his eyes caught mine but soon glanced down my back in fear. Though he was soon pulled away by Ponk and Hannah. Someone pulled me into a tight hug that caused me to cry out in pain, the arrow shifting and more of the potions flooding into my system. I was gently laid down onto the ground as someone placed something into my mouth, ‘leather’? I soon realized what the leather was for as pain ripped through my body, the arrow thrown to the side and healing potions being poured onto the wound. I started feeling tired as someone grabbed my hand, Eret sat by my side, hair disheveled and expression still panicked. I blacked out after that.

My body jolted up as I let out a gasp, only to turn into a cry of pain as my back burned. I heard steps quickly approaching, my door thrown open to reveal Puffy and Eret. “Welcome back to the land of the living (Y/N).” Puffy’s voice was hoarse, and she had tear tracks on her cheeks that were drying, “What happened, where is everyone?” Puffy and Eret both entered the room fully, coming to sit on the bed, “Everyone else went to their own places to recuperate, Sam carried you here and Niki, Eret and I have been keeping an eye on you. You haven’t been out for long, but Sam went back to the prison and Niki to her shop, I was actually about to leave and find Foolish.” I nodded and laid back down, “Tell me how he is, okay Puffy?” She gave me a smile, new tears forming as she left, leaving just me and Eret who made themselves comfortable on my bed. “So, what now (Y/N)?” I glanced at her, feeling a wave of my own tears coming, “Now, I stay away from them. Bad isn’t the man I once loved, and I don’t know if he ever will be again. What I do know is I hate the color red now.” She let out a laugh and laid next to me, mumbling a ‘me too’ as we both drifted off to a much-needed sleep.
