a lil good omens brainrotted update from your mascot

Hello my maggots it's nearly midnight here's how the brainrot's going (spoiler alert, there are no, uh, ripe braincells anymore).

I just spent a rather significant amount of time drawing leaves into my bullet journal (because it's Crowley themed this month).

That whole time I listened to first Crowley's apartment ambience and then to a bunch of Good Omens edits and got extremely emotional about it but in the best way. God I love this show.

Every day (it'S a-GEtTinG clOSeR) I have a stare-off with the Good Omens book that keeps me company on my desk.

It laughs in my face, daring me to read it.

I recall the last time I opened it (to summarise, I read a line about Crowley and burst into tears like the macho guy I am). I refuse.

We are locked in a battle of wills. Who will win, the book or I? I'm torn between wanting to read it so bad and the fear that I will never be emotionally stable again if I do.

Speaking of books, just for vibesies an update on the one I'm writing, I've written 7,200 words in the past six days (when I pulled the WIP out of its musty folder because of that post Neil made).

The page I made in the bullet journal was actually a writing tracker here lemme show y'all because I'm proud of the progress I made:

Crowley quotesssss all the Crowley quotes I love them so much it's insane.

Also, I'm gonna go get yarn to I can continue my endeavour to learn crocheting to make a Crowley-beanie. @singalongpoppet is my guru and leader in this journey. Not sure if I'll manage it, but a guy can dream. Channeling my non-existent cottagecore era.

I am also considering getting a Plant.

Weirdly enough, this is not entirely brainrot, I was supposed to grow a plant back in January because my word thing of the year was Grow (the burden of prophecy is real).

However, I am dreadful at taking care of them, even succulents. I managed to kill a wild cactus that I brought home from a roadside. It survived several months but in the end being around me was too much for it, poor thing.

I assume there is a bit more to plant-parenting than misting them and screaming at them to GROW BETTER, so any advice, please?

End of update, I have no idea how to write conclusions so have a snapshot of the dynamic of Rian and Avi, the characters in the book I'm writing [spoiler alert: their dynamic is dumpster fire].

-Opposites Attract, or very similar?

incredibly similar. But, some opposites attract elements. Skull is more quiet and a bit reserved while Avi is a bit more of a social butterfly.

-Which one confessed first?

They confessed at the same time but technically Skull did first. Avi's comfession was full of some self-depricating comments ("why would someone like you wanna date me") and skull shut him up with their first kiss.

-Do they have a go-to date?

Honestly? A weekend or a week at Skull's moms' home. It's a giant field where they're self-sustainable and they have a farm, solar pannels... even a traditional Viking mead hall at one part of their property. It is a day trip out to the countryside but it's still a nice time just... away from the chaos of Inkopolis/Splatsville. That or an ice cream parlor

-which one proposes?

Avi did! One of their times staying at Skull's moms', they were stargazing and he popped the question. Skull of course said yes and their tender moment was "interrupted" by Skull's moms calling them in for dinner. When Skull told them one got up, walked to the fridge, and got out a thing of champagne. Important to note, none of Skull's family drinks champagne all that much

-Who's the big spoon?

its gotta be avi. you just know he gives the best cuddles and skull is milking that for all it's worth

-Do they have pets or kids? both?

They have actually adopted Aloha and Mask (since i see skull and avi as like. 26 or 27 instead of the rest of the s4 being 18 or 19) but as previously mentioned have a cat and kittens. They also have actual kids in the form of Rhodi and Sucre- ocs of the lovely rose here.

-What tradition do they have with each other?

Multiple! Avi and Skull bake SOOOO many pastries on Sunday to have through the week-mainly due to Army having religious trauma and the two trying to help him associate Sundays with this rather than dread but they've done this since before Army moved in- but also. Skull is Norse Pagan and because of that, they had their wedding on a Friday, the feast day of Frigg, goddess of Marriage. They also celebrate their anniversary the closest Friday to their actual wedding.

-What's their dynamic?

Old married couple who don't bicker/hate each other, they're very much in love <3

-What's their media? Songs, movies, books?

The song is Crush by Tessa Violet or Steal the Light by the Cat Empire, no movie comes to mind but the book is Song of Achilles, and the game is Hollow Knight (the VIBES, man!)

hiii have you watched the fame game? i would like to know your thoughts on it!! i personally really ended up liking it (maybe not the finale so much) and the queer rep omg????

fame game spoilers ahead

hello, i finished watching the fame game the other day. my thoughts. bold of you to assume my braincells survived watching madhuri dixit exclusively at her best in the show. oh it was so giving. i was overjoyed and so happy. like yeah the show was a little slow in the beginning because it takes time for all the puzzle pieces to fit and you already know which one goes where but its like AAAAAAAA jaldi karo naa.

manav and madhuri were too good, and to be honest if netflix released a movie within the fame game cinematic universe which was their movie, i would watch it so bad

the way that i sobbed in the coming out scene, i was like YEAH a hug from madhuri telling me it will be alright would genuinely fix me. rip to avi but im different.

amu steals anamika's spotlight (literally and metaphorically) in the last two episodes and im like ok wow i did not see that coming but gg for you, love to see girlbosses winning (but at what cost)

the show obviously paves road for the sequel or a season 2 etc, but it got pretty predictive and the execution of amu's plan/ career all that was like a little rushed through.

the queer rep in the show was genuinely refreshing and unexpected. the confession scene at the bungalow made me cry. i was like yeah exactly. obviously there was avi's scene and the fight that happens after (half of which i had to watch through closed eyes.) but leila and shobha were so good together and the domesticity and the dynamic chefs kiss honestly

you know that thing people say that you know an actor has done a phenomenal job as a character when you hate their guts and even their onscreen presence makes you want to hurl abuses etc etc. thats when you know the portrayal was authentic. like the way that sanjay kapur and the actress that played madhuri's mom. they put their entire ***** into it. the mother in a lot of her cinematic/ television roles usually plays such a cinammon role motherly figure, i was like how did she do that

also madhuri with a gun was something i didnt know i needed.

Im losing braincells to speak by the second but in my dying light of brain - i must say from octo arc on everything just updates my ships to ot3(+)'s (and also extends lists of ships i highly appreciate) and like i adore the skullvin

(and also by extension AviSkullVin is so top tier they fashion/support eachother / beat up other squids when they try to reveal avi's pretty eyes w/o him wanting to show em off. I like the idea of avi being sorta timid and at first vin is mad that skull "kept" Avi so to speak but like. Eventually its kinda circled around to all of them missing each other, realizing they wanna work on rebuilding their relationships and stuff and like there is SO MUCH POTENTIALS HERE wwwwaaahhh i wish i had more braincelss. Would also add eggshades but! Relationships still need some work)

art dump!!!

so this past week ive been not very active bc i wrote a dnd oneshot for my dnd pals but now that the oneshot is over, i can finally post all this, YAYYYYY!!!!

oneshot plot summary: It is the last day of Barksborough High School Fair and Student Council President Katigri Seyfarth asks four teenagers---Ellary Quailesberry @intensesargasm, Anitha Rathelle @luisdc-art, Aster Salvatore @miladymiss, and Mialee @afflatusssss --- to find her missing girlfriend, Avis Wrenworth.

It is revealed that Avis was kidnapped and held underground in a dungeon filled with monstrous fungi. She was imprisoned here by Izzy Bloomgold, president of the FUC (Fungi Understanding Club), with his accomplice, Zaira Jones. Izzy did this because he fell in love with two Violet Funguses and went batshit in the process. Zaira helped Izzy because Zaira is in love with him and is arguably as batshit as he is, given that shes in love with a 16 year old megalomaniac. Avis got trapped in a fungus dungeon because she had the audacity to say that Izzy’s feelings for the fungi were unhealthy. It’s a whole mess.

Some notable things that my players did:

In the beginning of the session, they ask a passing student for information. I improv a human jock named Brick who has 0 braincells and 100 emotions. Players get so attached to Brick that they bring him along the entire adventure. He does quite literally nothing, until right before the players enter the dungeon, he is tasked to take care of Aster’s pet chick, Frankie.

While Izzy is doing his grand villain monolog, Anitha charges and one hit KO’s him unconscious with a LANCE.

I mentioned that I was bummed that they didn’t go to a lot of locations during the adventure bc they were on a mission, so after they saved the day, my players went around the high school fair I made for them. They all just go around and have a fun normal time (literally just minutes after being in a life or death situation)

Oh, Gerard is very fun. He's Avi's brother, and despite them being twins (not identical ones, they're fraternal), they are polar opposites. Where Avi is bookish and logical, Gerard has three braincells and no sense of self preservation.

For example, Gerard refuses to say no to dares, which has almost killed him more than once. One of his friends dared him to wrestle a lion while they were at the zoo, and Gerard did. Luckily zoo security caught him before he got hurt, but he managed to pin the lion to the ground. Needless to say, he was banned from that zoo.

My OC is Avi Reddy, they're sixteen and your resident himbo (gn) jock and bisexual disaster who is stupidly in love with their frenemy Rian.

They're very hot-tempered and have negative common sense, but they're fiercely kind and creative and would kill for their friends. This is the song that relates to them and their journey of coming out as non-binary and bi.

They wouldn't want me to, but I also associate this song and its sheer dumbass energy with them. I'm sorry guys, this is an underrated masterpiece and Avi absolutely listens to it on loop in their free time, whatever they may say to the contrary.
