Being introverted (INFJ), I've worked hard on social skills and I'm proud to say socializing is less tiring than it used to be, but I'm coming to face the reality that it will always be tiring. Is there another way except socializing to feel connected to the world?
One's relationship to the world is mediated through the two extraverted functions, which are Fe and Se in INFJ. To simplify, Fe is about feeling connected, whereas Se is about being connected. Why is this seemingly minor distinction important?
One of the great advantages of being INFJ is that you are gifted with great powers of imagination. With Ni+Fe, you possess a unique capacity to conjure connections to the world. This means you can form a strong emotional bond with anything in the world, simply because you want to.
You might quibble with the word "conjure" because it sounds like you're just inventing something, and how can something fake or unreal be truly meaningful? I don't see it that way. A feeling is real, and feeling connected benefits your emotional well-being in very real ways. The benefits include: contentment, joy, love, fulfillment, and a sense of mattering. Life is hard enough, so why deprive yourself of this gift?
Yes, conjuring connections becomes a problem when it is the only means through which you can connect with the world (aka trapped in your own head). This is why it's important to strike the right balance between feeling connected and actually being connected. Fe development will only help quell Se grip if it leads to at least some concrete connections in the real world. Thus, social connection with real people is absolutely necessary, but it doesn't have to be the only or even the primary means of worldly connection.
It's always quite sad to me to see INFJs suffer from having their imagination stifled or oppressed. If you are one of them, perhaps you're wondering how to go about conjuring connections. To feel "bonded" to something is essentially to deeply love that thing, which requires opening your heart to it. I can give you simple examples from the many INFJs I've met. Some INFJs feel a strong bond with the authors that inspire them. Some feel a strong bond with nature, plants, or animals. Some feel a strong bond with creative works like music or paintings. Some feel a strong bond with sacred objects. Some feel a strong bond to particular places, times, or events.
Since you can form a strong emotional bond with anything, the only limit is your imagination. The more you work to expand your imagination, the more receptive your eyes will become, and the more opportunities you'll discover for filling your heart with love. People often chase love as though it's an elusive object out there in the world. Unfortunately, they don't realize that love can be willed into existence and actively infused into life, so there is no need to be so starved or desperate for it. Since you're very easily fatigued by socializing, you might be missing this key ingredient. If you approached people with a heart full of love, you might find socializing to be easier and much more fulfilling.

Hmm one day I’ll have to figure out my characters’ MBTI types.
#Personal#To be fair I’m super interested in this topic but#I’m just not sure my typing will be objective enough because most of them got their types on the very early stages of my writing x)#Anyway for now I’m sticking with Valerio being an ENFJ or ESFJ#He’s clearly a Fe dom user but honestly I’m not sure about his auxiliary function#I mean he might seem dwell into his past but he’s rather ignoring it which is why it can’t let him live a normal life#Hmm does it mean he’s in the Fe-Ne loop?#Like he tries to find different possibilities for having a bright future#but since he doesn’t rely on one of his main functions (Si) it doesn’t work out#Wait it does make sense#Akajjdkfm but I want him to be an ENFJ#I’ll need to think about it deeper someday#Okay so Ángel is clearly an ESFP and Frida is either an INFJ or INTJ#Matías seems like a Ti dom user because in his and Valerio’s duo he’s the one who always holds a braincell so he’s an ISTP#Emilio is an INTJ and he seems to be in the Ni-Fi loop#Verónica hmmmm ENTP maybe?#To be fair I barely know anything about her so I really don’t know XD#But she’s creative and can think objectively which does sound like NeTi I think#And INTJ and ENTP are the perfect match :D#As for Leticia I need to write her more often to figure it out but for now I think of her as an ENFP#And Gabe himself is an ESTJ#Wait wait wait wait coming back to Valerio’s MBTI#He does seem to be in the Fe-Se loop as well considering how much he cares about what other people will say about his scars#Like he cares about his image A LOT and wants others to perceive him as a wise and kind Señor Álvarez even though he’s not really is#And he tries to distract himself from his dark thoughts and memories via the sensory world which is kinda why he became a teacher#He just HAD to do something so he wouldn’t lose his mind#Plus the main thing about his arc is not accepting his past (although it’s still a big part of it)#but rather finding a true purpose in his life which is not teaching actually#Anyway Valerio clearly can’t be in both loops at the same time it’s just me trying to figure out his actual type aksjdmkf#But idk I might be biased but him being an ENFJ sounds more realistic because really he never used Si even when he’s not under stress

Tumblr media
↳ the sub-group archetype of the sentinels
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ISFJ ⟶ introverted sensing, extroverted feeling, introverted thinking and extroverted intuition.
breaking down the archetype ⬎
♇ the archetype is made up of Si Fe Ti and Ne.
I = introversion.
S = sensing.
F = feeling.
J = judging.
♇ the first two functions that determine the ISFJ TYPE CODE ⬎
Si Fe Ti Ne.
♇ the Si and Fe within the ISFJ function makes up for the two missing letters in the type code: I _ _ J because the two missing letters in the middle are the first two functions!
♇ the Si is the _ S _ _ because it is about introverted sensing.
♇ the Fe is the _ _ F _ because it is about extroverted feeling.
but what makes up the first letter in the code?
♇ what makes up for the first letter in the code is the second letter to the strongest function for the archetype. and the strongest function for ISFJ is Si and evidently the second letter is “I” which causes the function to now become from _ S F _ to I S F _ .
♇ but what makes up the last letter in the code?
♇ you’ll have to look back at the first extroverted function in the entire code. and for ISFJ it is ⟶ Si Fe Ti Ne. the first extroverted function in the type is Fe, which is extroverted feeling.
♇ Fe belongs to the judging function which displays the fact that the last letter to I S F _ will be I S F J.
explaining the archetype ⬎
♇ those who belong to the ISFJ archetype are people who could be deemed to be compassionate, loyal and devoted people. beings who are responsible and display themselves to be down-to-earth.
♇ though they could have a trait of wanting to feel like they're needed by others. a good trait of an ISFJ archetype is that they are people who have good memory and are people who like to learn new things. and when they're learning new things they like it when the information they take in is clear and thorough.
♇ ISFJ's are conservative/modest people, they like to do things the classic way and they like to be hard-working. the people can be supportive, sympathetic and have a trait of being perceptive and tactful. they are protective over the people they care about and people who are around ISFJ's believe they can usually count on them, since they are people who know how to handle tasks.
♇ though when it comes to expressing their feelings, they can be people who hold in their thoughts, they could have a dislike with sharing their feelings with other people, but even though on the outside they might appear as people who dont feel much. internally, ISFJ's feel very intensely.
♇ they are people who might find it easy to relate to people, even if they might not be the most emotionally expressive person, they have logic and common sense, and can easily sympathise with others.
♇ ISFJ's are practical people and have practical values, they are natural at handling details and they are people who appreciate the lessons life has to give. these people are prudent and dutiful but can be too dependent and reliant on other people.
♇ on the other hand, they can have the "negative" traits of being people who can be adamant and can view the world as black and white. though ISFJ's who are healthy can be experts with following through directions and plans.
ISFJ'S AUXILIARY ⟶ FE. [AUXILIARY HELPS GROWTH/HEALTHY OR DEVELOPED ISFJ'S] ⬎
♇ healthy ISFJ's are people who are caring and compassionate, being individuals others can trust and others can think of them to be people who are noble and very giving.
♇ healthy ISFJ's respect the space and boundaries of other people, and they can easily adapt to social situations/atmospheres. they can be people who can easily read through other people, the type to understand body language easily as they are individuals who have understanding of life and people.
IMMATURE AUXILIARY ⟶ FE. ⬎
♇ unhealthy ISFJ's can be people who care about what others think about too much, which leads them into having a fear of being judged by other people.
♇ underdeveloped ISFJ's are people who lack emotional boundaries, and are people who change themselves to fit people's standards, they can be a big people pleaser. and even though they're people who fear of judgement, they judge other people quickly.
WHEN ISFJ'S BEHAVE INHIBITED ⬎
⟶ TERTIARY TI LOOP
♇ they're people who can be perceived as naive, when they behave out of character, they can become people who dont realise unhealthy routines lead to a bad circumstance. they think they are self-aware, but they're not, especially when it comes to their own emotions, they over-think, but wont trust the guide and judgement of other people but only their own.
♇ though, they might blame other people aside from looking within, they are the type to not look at their own accountability.
♇ underdeveloped ISFJ's are the type to claim they are being true to themselves, but when it comes to peer pressure, they're easily moved by it. and when other people try to give them good critique, they would project their feelings onto other people. they can also become very combative and use smart words to make themselves feel superior, or to make other feel like they're dumb, it's like a performative intelligence.
♇ the type to give to complain about others without any proper reason.
INFERIOR NE GRIP ⬎
♇ they can become people who are very paranoid and on edge, and due to this, they become restless and even somewhat obsessive. bringing out a side to them that is insecure and troubled.
♇ they can be people who are irresponsible, and can be considered as unique with how unpredictable and erratic they can be. and when unhealthy, ISFJ's can be perceived as people who say and do damaging things.
♇ as i have implied before, they are over-thinkers, and this could lead to them thinking of hypothetical situations, which then leads them onto being unsure people and as a person who is anxious about their future.
♇ this inferior ne grip can give them the traits of being someone who has their spirits easily crushed. though, when they don't have their spirits crushed, they are people who have really good ideas, but they might not know how to execute them properly.

INTP Ti - Si Loop
Explanation on an MBTI loop. Not an expert. May change later.
___
Loops in MBTI occurs when a type begins to cycle between their dominant and tertiary function, completely ignoring the auxiliary and inferior. This is mainly caused from stress and can be continous until finally broken.
___
INTP Function stack: Ti - Ne - Si - Fe
When in a Ti - Si loop, INTP is stuck trying to find answers from previous experiences. They can get trapped in constant rumination about the past as they try to find the answer(s) to their issue(s). However, this does more harm than good as they will start to fixate on their past mistakes. Overanalyzing the things they could and should have done will paralyze them into fear and self doubt. Can be very indecisive. Their overthinking will stump their Aux Ne from functioning properly, which can cause INTP to get trapped with certain routines and structures (even if it is not benefitting them). Without the help of Ne, a looping INTP struggles to form new ideas and perspectives. It makes it difficult for INTP to be innovative.
To escape the loop, an INTP needs to learn to utilize their Ne properly again. They can try to put themselves in new opportunities that will get their Ne to function; new opportunities will hopefully get INTP to explore new ideas and concepts. Brainstorm possible solutions to get their gears going. Learn to be more accepting of their own mistakes and failures, be more self compassionate.

Ambrosius Goldenloin
ESFJ
Tumblr media
Dominant Fe (Extroverted Feeling) / Inferior Ti (Introverted Thinking)
Tumblr media
Ambrosius is very open with his emotions and very dedicated to his social role, and upholding the belief system he has been spoon-fed his entire life. He feels betrayed when Ballister is framed for murder, but never really stops to listen to him, when he tries to explain himself. He doesn’t even want to arrest Ballister, but continues to do so because that is what he is told to do. However, when information doesn’t add up, and when things don’t fit the moral standards he was taught growing up, he starts questioning things, and tries to figure out the logic behind it.
Auxiliary Si (Introverted Sensing) / Tertiary Ne (Extroverted Intuition
Tumblr media
Ambrosius is a very dutiful man, who heavily relies on his experiences and his training to make decisions. He does have many ideas for the future, that get overshadowed by his experiences and things he was taught. He is an extraordinary soldier, who does everything he can to uphold the morals and standards he’s learned his entire life.

QUICK CHAT ABOUT COD CHARACTERS AND THEIR MBTI TYPES PT 1.
Hi!!! So, I was just scrolling through Tumblr late at night and I saw some headcanons, where the creator mentioned Ghost's MBTI. It reminded me that I had a word file saved, discussing about the characters and their MBTI. But, I haven't finished it, so I'll just ramble some of my thoughts here instead.
I want to begin with Ghost. Seriously, I genuinely want to understand why people type him as an INTJ, the guy is not a Ni dom at all. And also, let’s just exclude here any chance of him being an INTP. But, I do see Ti and Ni in his functions. In my opinion, he is an ISTP 5w6. For those unfamiliar, ISTPs have Ti (dominant), Se (auxiliary), Ni (tertiary), and Fe (inferior) in their functions.
I'll be honest, this inferior Fe makes me doubt a bit because Ghost seems much more like a Fi user. However, considering that Fe is inferior and theoretically his weakest function, it makes sense. And, to me, what makes ISTP the most obvious choice is that this man really isn't a Ni dom or a Ne aux type. But like I said, I do see some Ni in him, but very weak, which excludes the possibility of him being a Ni dom, and adds the possibility of him being a Ti dom. But, he has zero Ne, so he can’t be an INTP. Just to clear things up, I don't think analysts can't be impulsive or that sensors are dumb, not at all. But they do have some tendencies, and you can see differences in how they deal/view the world.
So, let me give an example of a character who's an analyst: Laswell. She's the embodiment of an INTJ. Price and Ghost deviate so much from her. Both of them should have both Ni auxiliary and Ni dominant, respectively. The way both of them deals with Shepherd and Graves betrayal makes it very clear how they aren't intuitive types for me. They’re incapable of seeing the other side of the situation. And I know it might sound like a crappy argument, but speaking as a Ne aux, I always open myself to possibilities even if I DISAGREE, especially if I can benefit from it. You know who else does that? Laswell. A Ni dom. It's very clear her Ni/Te, and that's why compared to Ghost, I don't understand why people type him as an INTJ. Personally, I think Ti and Ni can be easily mistaken. And for me, Ghost's Ti is pretty obvious, the way he is practical, and how he analyzes things, and his Se aux helps him to be very aware of his surroundings (of course, there are more than that in Se aux). But to me? there's nothing more Ti/Se than that. I'll just drop here two brief descriptions of Ti/Ni dom that make me pretty sure Ghost isn’t a Ni dom.
"Introverted Intuition seeks underlying patterns that can predict how events will unfold in the long term. The primary goal is to understand cause and effect accurately, enabling confidence in problem-solving and avoiding causing issues. Individuals with this dominant function tend to be 'perceptive,' often capable of 'seeing through' situations by finding the 'real importance' or 'essence' or 'root' or 'meaning' of things and understanding the fundamental factors that will influence how situations unfold, connecting past, present, and future considerations in non-linear ways. They unconsciously seek vaguely familiar patterns of contextual variables and tend to gather multiple perspectives to synthesize and visualize 'the true truth' or a better version of life. In this way, they tend to be quite certain about how they want their lives to unfold, usually aspirational in pursuing meaningful goals with focus and determination as they seek to realize their personal potential."
"Introverted Thinking seeks to discover rules or direct formulas based on facts to guide thinking and behavior towards greater consistency and coherence. People with this dominant function tend to be highly analytical, preferring to adopt positions/judgments that are as free from biases or undue influences as possible. They often enjoy building skills and accumulating technical knowledge by systematically analyzing and deconstructing ideas/situations, preventing and solving problems, and manipulating systems to fix or enhance them. In this way, they can be dispassionate and self-sufficient in approaching situations with their refined knowledge, often admired for their calm and competent approach to solve problems. However, they may also become emotionally detached from situations due to the excision of the human perspective, incorrectly assuming it is irrelevant to their analyses. When people don't know how to use Ti properly, they tend to be overly reductionist, seeing only a simple cause for a complex situation and unable to recognize the gaps/flaws in their own reasoning process, especially when trying to understand issues in relationships and social contexts."
“The reason the two get confused so often is because, one: they are both introverted functions which makes them hard to see and distinguish, and two: they are both abstract. Ni collects and stores abstract information, while Ti makes abstract connections and conclusions.”
“Ni is a 'perceiving' funtion, which is different from Ti because it does not do the 'judging' which is Ti's role. Ni in simple words is seeing and thinking about things very deeply to find connections and therefore form certain hunches or predictions. Many Ni dominants may have a conclusion which they got to, but they don't know how to explain the way they got to it. Ni uses more subconscious thinking than Ti does. Ti on the other hand analyses even more than Ni does, and sorts certain ideas, sort of like Pros and Cons, it is usually what can be the deciding factor.”
*Quick reminder: Ghost never anticipated Graves' betrayal, and didn't give any reasons that he suspected of Graves before that. He seems unfazed when the betrayal occurs, but that's because it's not something new to him.
So, while I can argue that his lack of Fe may simply be because it is an inferior function, hence less dominant and developed function (though I think he showed a lot of Fe during the whole Mexico situation) it’s hard to argue his lack of Ni because it's a DOMINANT function. And when we talk about dominant function, when is undeveloped, it doesn't indicate a lack of, but rather an unhealthy mode of acting/thinking/coping.
So, about Price... I think he's an ESTP. Stereotypically, he's not the typical ESTP. Unlike Ghost, who has a weak/undeveloped inferior Fe, I think Price has his inferior Ni very well developed, and that's why I think the fact that he is an ESTP is not so noticeable. Just as I compared Ghost to a character who shared the same MBTI type that was attributed to him, I will now compare Price to Makarov. In my opinion, Makarov in this game is a good example of an ENTJ. If you compare the characters and the way they behave, you’ll see that Price has a liiittle more difficulty seeing beyond the obvious, and for me, if he had Ni aux as many point out, he would have anticipated many of Makarov's actions. And I go further, I also believe he would never have let Makarov live back in 2019, recognizing the threat that Makarov was, if he were and ENTJ. Because ENTJs tend to thinking ahead, if they have a problem they’ll think in a way to solve pragmatically, effectively and definitively for once and all. Also, Price is highly reluctant to work with Shepherd, showing a lack of Te/Ni, working with his enemies to achieve his goals is not his first thought (but it’s Laswell “first” thought, a Ni dom). It's not about trust, but personal/team/world gain. Again, he’s incapable of seeing the big picture. And, of course, he has a significant amount of Fe, the way he is a great leader, communicates effectively with people around him, and bond with his team proves that.
I think all the quotes I put up above really show how neither Price nor Ghost use Ni in their first two stacks. But both of them use Ti. There's this stereotype that sensors aren't that smart, so when you've got two characters who should be the best of the soldiers, really smart and skilled, people tend link them with the “best MBTI types” and type them as Ni users (completely bullshit, they just do this because they don’t know how functions work). And again, when you compared them with two Ni users (Laswell and Makarov) you can see how different they are.
I'm gonna do a part two and post it later because I wanna talk about Gaz and Soap too (and some other characters, but the two of them are my main goal now), but I think this one ended up slightly longer than I planned.

Anon wrote: Hello, 24M ISTP here hoping to help my 25F INFJ girlfriend, or at least understand her. It’s a persisting problem that’s taking a noticeable toll on her mental health and I’m a little lost on what to do.
We live in the UK, and drinking culture is HUGE here, particularly regarding an almost obsession with pubs. They’re seen as a community hub in a way for a lot of people. I personally only have one or two drinks on special occasions and my girlfriend is teetotal, so neither of us feel the need to go to these places ourselves. The problem, for my girlfriend, is how this interferes with the rest of her social life. She has a lot of online friends, but aside from myself and her sister, she only really hangs out with her work colleagues. Most of these outings involve drinking to an extent.
My girlfriend said herself, several times, that she doesn’t like the pub crowd. It’s not her scene, it’s noisy and cramped a lot of the time and she just finds it boring. Honestly I agree with her. She’s even had some people grilling her about why she doesn’t drink, which obviously won’t help. When it’s just the two of us, we usually go to some sort of cafe, or an actual activity like arcades or museums, because that’s what we both enjoy. Whenever she goes out with her colleagues, though, she comes home miserable and deflated. I suggested offering to go someplace else with them, but she’s apparently asked a few of them around the weekend time and they always say they’re busy.
I’ll see her obsessively scrolling on Reddit or Twitter at sometimes 4AM, looking into why people love drinking/pubs so much and to see if anyone feels the same way that she does. It seems to start this vicious cycle of guilt if she can’t find the answers she wants because she’ll see people praising pubs and what they mean to them. She tells me how she feels like she doesn’t fit in here, and it’s warping her view of the world generally, because so many people love and revolve their leisure time around an activity that she hates. Basically she thinks that there’s something wrong with her.
She’s tried to branch out a little over the last few weeks by taking music classes and volunteering, but she’s really shy and hasn’t formed any friendships so far, which is making her feel even worse. So she falls back into her usual routine of going to places that she hates because people want her to. I take her out to do what she likes as often as I can, but honestly I think there’s a deeper problem at play here.
I asked her if she feels lonely, and she said no. She doesn’t miss the connection of an actual friendship, she actually enjoys having lots of alone time. She told me it comes from a need to feel socially competent, and this does line up with her behaviour. The way she talks, acts, dresses, is all done so she can be perceived a certain way. She wants people to see her as someone that has friends and a fulfilling social life. But like I say to her - she’s not a public figure, she’s not a fictional character. There’s no audience here aside from the people she chooses to be around. Why is she sabotaging herself?
----------------------
Consult the article about Caring for Emotional Needs for tips about how to offer comfort to people in distress. Questions about how to help are always complicated because there are so many factors that could influence the outcome. The most important factors to consider are: 1) how open the person is to receiving help, 2) whether they possess enough inner and outer resources to carry out good advice, and 3) whether your presence has the potential to hinder them. From your description, it is unclear how these factors will play out.
Have you read the study guides and do you understand functional stacks and type development? It sounds like she is having difficulty with auxiliary development and reaching a point of auxiliary resistance, which can potentially trigger a gradual descent into tertiary loop. It is a common issue across all types.
It's possible there's something awry with her intentions. Approaching function development with the wrong intention often leads to negative results. She works very hard, perhaps too hard, to fit in, which indicates Fe overindulgence, but then also claims that she does not need the Fe things she's working for. She claims to want "social competence", which is ostensibly about healthy Fe, but then rejects vital opportunities to develop genuine social competence. Denial and ambivalence are major factors behind why people get stuck in developmental ruts. In essence, people want auxiliary development but also want to avoid the difficulties of it, which can lead them to choose dead ends and overlook viable opportunities.
Yes, it is self-sabotage, but it's important to remember that these "choices" are generally made unconsciously from a deep and dark place of pain, suffering, ignorance, or desperation. Although it might seem irrational to onlookers, it is rational to do what is necessary to alleviate short-term pain, in an effort to regain enough mental capacity to tackle long-term problems. However, when pain cannot be adequately alleviated (usually due to not having learned the right tools for coping), it starts to wreak havoc psychologically.
I often say that the easy path isn't usually the right path when it comes to personal growth. Ideally, she should go through the arduous process of making new friends with people who are better suited to her personal preferences and needs. Branching out is the better choice but also the more difficult choice because it involves facing up to painful truths about herself, i.e., to nakedly expose the shyness and deep insecurities that lie at the heart of the struggle. She has yet to realize that it is precisely through facing up to those vulnerabilities that genuine social competence is eventually achieved.
Since she isn't ready to face up to the real underlying problem, she's leaning on her colleagues at the pub. As you said, pub culture is huge in the UK, so enjoying it would allow one to quickly fit in with a significant swath of the population. However, as huge as pub culture is, there are also huge numbers of people with other interests, but it might be difficult to meet them without making a big change to one's immediate social environment. From my observations, spending too much time with people at work can really limit one's perspective, like putting all your eggs in one basket. I generally don't recommend seeking out personal relationships in the workplace unless you just happen to meet someone you really, really click with.
If she lacks the wherewithal to change her social environment, she might be feeling out of options and that might be why she's trying to force the pub situation, as it helps maintain some illusion of control. The misery she feels as a result is an extremely important warning sign but she's ignoring it, which indicates poor self-care and a need to improve emotional intelligence. Chasing these existing relationships is the golden path of least resistance, but it only seems easy on the surface. In the end, it's also an incredibly difficult path because she must deny herself and sacrifice her integrity for the pretense of fitting in, which basically amounts to self-violence.
In short, both paths are difficult, but only one will lead to proper function development and personal growth. In cases of auxiliary overindulgence, the dominant function doesn't work optimally. Without healthy Ni, it's difficult for her to understand the longer term implications of her choices. All FJs need a strong sense of belonging and community in order to flourish in life. Fe-related needs are legitimate and she must learn to fully embrace them as an integral part of her identity. Ideally, she should be encouraged to fulfill her Fe needs and be offered support as needed/requested. However, though it's hard to watch someone you care for struggle, you can't compel or force them to develop a function when they are not psychologically ready for it. It's something she ultimately has to decide to do on her own, for her own good.
Since her auxiliary function is your inferior function, you are in a dangerous position. You could inadvertently be a negative influence if your inferior Fe distorts her view of auxiliary Fe. It's important that you are mindful about your own relationship to Fe. You have to understand that auxiliary and inferior functions are very different animals that require very different approaches in type development. You should avoid expressing inferior Fe in a way that gives her a convenient excuse to withdraw from auxiliary Fe development entirely. This would be the worst case scenario from the perspective of type development.

Mbti & Astro Observations (5)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They're my personal observations, so take it with a grain of salt.
🪐 Saturn in the 1st house may have an awkward body or the way they lay, sit, stand, walk, etc. is awkward. It's hard for them to relax their body. Their firm body reminds me of a group of soldiers marching in the military.
🦂 Scorpio Moons like to show their expressions as if they're subtly unhinged. You may find their expressions strange and be confused if they're bad or normal by their expressions. But you're attracted to them because anything unknown unconsciously draw people in.
🌑 Pluto influence may make someone have a strong jaw. Or they may look like they hold their anger in like they hold their teeth tightly when someone upset them makes the end of their lips downwards. I think they do feel like that commonly. I associate Pluto with Ni and Fi. I found some dominant Fi users have this feature.
Ex: Aubrey Plaza (ISFP), Jenna Ortega (INFP), Blackpink's Jennie (ISFP)
🩷 Venus in the 1st house, Libra Rising or Libra Moon may exhibit strong Fe traits. Libra Moon eyes are average-sized and give a pretty, charming, and gentle look.
Ex: Beyoncé (Libra Rising, Venus in the 1st house, ESFJ), Mehgan Markle (Libra Moon, ENFJ), Selena Gomez (Venus in the 1st house, ISFJ), Arianna Grande (Libra Moon, ESFJ), Twice's Mina (Libra Moon, INFJ), Madison Beer (Libra Moon, ENFJ), Olivia Rodrigo (Venus in the 1st house, Libra Moon, ESFJ), Jennifer Aniston (Libra Rising, ESFJ), Harry Styles (Libra Rising, Libra Moon, ENFJ), Angelina Jolie (Venus in the 1st house, ESTP)
🌙 Also, people who have strong Cancer placements, especially Cancer Moon and Sun, Moon Conjunction Midheaven, or in the 10th house may exhibit strong Fe traits.
Ex: Prince William (Cancer Sun, Cancer Moon, ISFJ), Kate Middleton (Cancer Moon, ISFJ), Meghan Markle (Cancer Sun, Cancer Rising, ENFJ), Taylor Swift (Cancer Moon, ESFJ), Selena Gomez (Cancer Sun, Moon Conjunction Midheaven, ISFJ), Jennifer Aniston (Cancer Midheaven, ESFJ), Angelina Jolie (Cancer Rising, ESTP), Arianna Grande (Cancer Sun, ESFJ), Olivia Rodrigo (Moon Conjunction Midheaven, ESFJ), Twice's Dahyun (Cancer Moon, ESFJ), Aespa's Karina (Cancer Moon, ESFJ)
🌹 Some suspect Blackpink's Rosé to be a Libra Rising and Cancer Midheaven. Coincidentally, she's an ESFJ.
🌓 Sun trine Pluto are passionate people and influential leaders. They love what they do and are the masters of what they love. Everything they achieve seem legendary because they follow their true path. Everything falls into place when you follow your dream. They may have Fi and Ni in their stack. Both Fi and Ni are passionate about what they love.
Ex: Suga (INTJ), Blackpink's Lisa (ESFP)
🌫 Easy aspects (trine, sextile) try their best not to sound like they attack someone in the way they talk, act, etc. They look like someone who gives advice because they genuinely want to help people to be better. They probably got compliments about the traits belonging to those aspects from people in the past. They give off a peaceful and gentle vibe even with Mars, Saturn, and Pluto soft aspects.
🪨 Hard aspects (opposite, square) always talk and act like they attack someone, and someone attacks them. They likely experienced people with the traits belonging to those aspects attacking them in the past. They feel everyone come at them. You think they attack you, but they probably attack their imaginating ghost in the past. They may still be as true as the ones with easy aspects but sound harsher.
🔥 Mars in the 1st house or Aries Rising just looks hot. Their eyes are sharp, pointed upwards, and fierce-looking. They may likely be the sensing types, especially dominant/auxiliary Se users since Mars rules the bodies.
Ex: Kris Jenner (Mars in the 1st house, ESTJ), Rihanna (Aries Rising, ISFP), Megan Fox (Mars in the 1st house, ISTP), Kendall Jenner (Aries Rising, ISTJ)

The cognitive functions
Tumblr media
Hi everyone! This is my second post about tipology (especially MBTI) here on Tumblr and in it I will explain more about cognitive functions. If you are new to the typology field and want to know more I would recommend you to check this post of mine (is a quick overview of this whole theory while trying to keep it as simple as I can so that everyone will be able to understand at least the basic concepts) Hope you like it and find it useful! 🫶🏼
Tumblr media
General definition
Functions are one of the basic concepts in typology, and it could be sum up as how we process the information we receive and the way our personality traits show up in real life. There are a total of 8 functions: Se (Extroverted Sensing), Si (Introverted Sensing), Te (Extroverted Thinking), Ti (Introverted Thinking), Ne (Extroverted Intuition), Ni (Introverted intuition), Fe (Extroverted Feeling) and Fi (Introverted Feeling).
I promise I will be posting explantions for each function in a few days.I will attach the link to them here as soon as I publish them I promise 😅
The different function positions
Everyone has four basic functions that all together make the “code” of our true personality. Depending on the order the functions are sorted, our personality will be one way or another.
Dominant function: abbreviated to Dom function. It’s the first one, it is the one we use more in our daily basics and the one we develop earlier in life. This function related to the core and most easy to identify values of our personality, this also includes our strengths and weakness.
Auxiliary function: abbreviated to Aux function. The other half of our traits depend on it and this function is the one who keeps the balance with the Dom function.
Tertiary function: we use it in a smaller proportion. We can have some problems to manage it during childhood or early adolescence, but we always learn to deal with it as we grew up (usually in our young adult years). You can see it as an unlocked additional ability, if that makes sense.
Inferior function: this is the set of traits or attitudes that each person will struggle more to be or act like. We only rely on it when the other three functions fail or when we are tired or stressed. A normal person will learn to properly use them around their 30s or 40s, but some people will never be able to understand them.
Extroverted vs Introverted functions
Everyone has two extroverted and two introverted functions (it doesn’t mind if you are introverted, extroverted or ambivert in the general definition of these words). And they are always sorted in one of these two orders.
Introverted Dominant function - Extroverted Auxiliary function -Introverted Tertiary function - Extroverted Inferior function
Or
Extroverted Dominant function - Introverted Auxiliary function -Extroverted Tertiary function - Introverted Inferior function
If your Dominant function is extroverted the first letter of your MBTI will be an E, on the other hand if your dom function is introverted the letter will be an I. And, as I said, this doesn’t necessarily mean that you are an extrovert or introvert person (this is what 16p does). Someone with a Dominant Extroverted function can prefer solitude to being around others; and someone who has an Introverted Dom function can be a social butterfly too.
What does it mean when someone has an unhealthy MBTI type?
When someone can balance their functions properly and end up relaying in their dom or aux functions way to much they become an unhealthy version of their type (which leads to different flwas depending on each type). That's why we need to learn how to use all of our functions
That's all for now, thanks for reading. If you have any question you can ask me on the commentaries, reblogs or in my inbox, I will love to help. Reblogs are appreciated 🥰

elizabeth olsen: mbti type & enneagram | isfj 9w8
i put together a cohesive analysis of lizzie's typology that i've analyzed so far, collected from a few month's worth of study :D
because these are my own observations, these are not one hundred percent conclusive, so i am very willing to hear any contrasting opinions, especially as i am still always learning.
i believe elizabeth olsen is an isfj, and for reference as i will be referring to isfj's cognitive functions throughout the analysis, isfj's cognitive functions are (see links for definitions):
Si-dominant (introverted sensing), Fe-auxillary (extroverted feeling), Ti-tertiary (introverted thinking), and Ne-inferior (extroverted intuition)
an mbti type's cognitive functions serve as the processes a type goes through cognitively in order to process the world around them — receive information, understand things, etc. they are in chronological order from most used (strongest) to least used (weakest). in going through these functions and giving examples of lizzie's cognitive processes, i will prove why i believe she is an isfj.
additionally, the order in which the cognitive functions are placed also mean something. for example, though there is only one definition for what Si-dominant means, the function can be used differently when it is an auxiliary function or an inferior function, because then that would mean they are not an Si-dom mbti type (isfj and istj). so i will also being going over why i believe lizzie's usages of isfj's functions are in the order listed above. here are the definitions for each cognitive function placement:
dominant function (1st): you rely on this first and foremost when you process things and receive information, it is the way all your cognitive functions work together, it is your cognitive foundation in a sense.
an isfj's dominant function, Si (introverted sensing), uses their observations and experiences to create conclusions and understandings about their environment that they can rely on.
auxiliary function (2nd): the interest you lean towards when your mind processes things.
isfj's Fe (extroverted feeling), their auxiliary function, uses their dominant function in order to better understand the way people connect, to have reliable observations about human behaviour and people.
tertiary function (3rd): this can be seen as the function that brings some sort of comfort to you. it is the reason why your dominant and auxiliary functions work together, it's your reasoning behind why you process things naturally in the way that you do.
isfj's Si-Fe pairing work together because it creates comfort for them, they need a structure to rely on. they feel safer, more stable, and comfortable knowing they live in a world they understand. they want their observations and experiences to create a cohesive string of rationality that they can follow.
inferior function (4th): your weakest function, and the function you revert to under severe, prolonged stress (also called grip stress). developing one's weakest function can lead to great personal development, but having an underdeveloped inferior function (which is natural at first) can lead to more reliance on your first three functions.
for isfjs and Si-dominants in general, an underdeveloped inferior function can manifest as being someone who has a difficult time parting from their conclusions of their environment. an isfj a developed Ne-inferior function (lizzie has this) can create a very open-minded person who goes through lengths to reach out and understand more about people, who still take pleasure in creating structure with their experiences, but who are also not constricted by a close-mind or a strong fear of experimenting.
now that we have covered all of that basic information, i can now move onto my analyses! i will reference the definitions on isfj's functions and function placements often, so it may help you to scroll up and refer back to what i've written above whenever you need.
there is a common belief that lizzie is an entp, where her functions are Ne (extroverted intuition), Ti (introverted thinking), Fe (extroverted thinking), and Si (introverted sensing).
any person who says this does not have Fe as their tertiary function: “There’s a team effort that I’m obsessed with. I love working together with a group of people problem solving. I love being on a team so much, and it’s something you get to do a lot as a kid. I would never be like a tennis player, because I really love the team environment and that’s what being on a set feels like. I know there are other ways to do that in your life, and if there was another job I were to do, it would be something that was collaborative with people. I also love getting to explore why people are the way they are, and why they make decisions that they make. It’s just something that will never be boring to me. We spend the time getting to understand people’s life experiences, and I feel like a story is like a really artful way of exploring why we are the way we are. And I don’t get that from life except for meeting new people. To me, it’s like you go over to someone’s house and have dinner and then you’re like, ‘Oh my God, that was amazing!’ Like, that doesn’t happen all the time. But I get that from work — that constant peeling away at human behaviour.”
not only is this very auxiliary Fe to me, but it’s also coming across as Si-Fe. i’ve always seen her need to connect and harmonise with people around her as very Fe-aux, which is nothing like entps tertiary use of Fe. it is true that both types use the function, yet it is only an Si-Fe who would want to create harmony and find patterns in collaborative work, namely in observing human behaviour as they go through life putting pieces together to create a world of constructed harmony and collaboration derived from personal experience and observation. entp’s use of Fe is at the very least not this expressive. what i find most important to note with her behaviour is that she does not take in what Fe brings to be divulged (as an entp would, especially one with a developed use of Fe), but rather she internalises her analyzations and simple joys of being around groups of people, the world of collaboration and human behaviour, which also goes back to her being an Si-dominant.
instead, she is an isfj with a well-developed Ne-inferior as shown in this clip. she uses her past experiences and observations when playing a role in which she cannot personally relate to, with the ultimate goal of finding similarities within all individuals under the shared human behaviour. in this case, in playing wanda who is a mother and as someone who does not have children, she used her own experiences with friends and family and the love and dedication from those relationships to envision a mother’s love for her children, specifically through the structure of human nature that she continuously develops through her roles through, again, observation and experience. i believe that is very strongly Si-Fe with well developed Ne, referencing past experiences, namely her relationships and connections with those she loves and the dynamics between loved ones, in order to understand the greater concept of what all human beings share in spite of their differences.
she mentions that she does not have the exact same circumstances as a mother does, and still uses her past experiences to envision a mother’s love. i’d say that a large part of why that processing works so well even if she doesn’t come from the exact same situation is because of her Ne usage, how she finds connections between this structure of love within human nature. keyword is ‘structure,’ and i think it’s really important to note how often she brings up this understanding of human behaviour that she references to often (not only in this video but many other interviews), especially using her roles playing complex women to explore this. this is what Si-Fe with an amazingly developed Ne looks like. i personally do not see anything but isfj for her.
now moving onto her tertiary function, Ti (introverted thinking), i think her habit of categorising and observing human behaviour through her roles is a reliance on Ti, because along with using Si and Fe, i’d say they work together in a way that allows her to make sense of things. having to live within structure and having that reliance on her ability to make connections with the world (Si-Fe) seems to me like a tertiary use of Ti when she explains it from the standpoint she does it from. sort of like the whole “needing to make sense” of things, like things having to connect and form some sort of rational relationship.
in a podcast, i believe her exact analogy was comparing herself to gaseous atoms through the particle theory, how she has to experience the world through a sort of box, a controlled chaos if anything, for if you opened the box then the particles would scatter. and that kind of comfort that derives from stability and structure seems to me like Ti-tertiary, as the tertiary function is used a lot for sense of ‘comfort’ in a way. the analogy is pretty Si-dom to me as well, and her need to always follow some kind of string of logic to stay in her comfort zone is also Ti tert.
and finally, her enneagram! i believe she is an 9w8. out of the nine enneagram types, you can have one that applies to you the most and a wing, which is either one of the adjacent types that complements your primary enneagram the most.
enneagram 9s seek harmony, an understanding and balance in their environment, a connection to the things and people around them. they fear being separated from things and people they care about, fearing losing their connections. i think this fits perfectly with her desire to understand human behaviour amongst other things, especially as an isfj where her tertiary function (Ti) has her relying on rationale and stability, and with enneagram 9 that lets her seek peace-keeping and balance.
there are two things an enneagram 9 can be: 9w8 and 9w1.
moving onto why 8 wing > 1 wing, though she is outwardly very laid back, she can actually be quite assertive, and has mentioned once in an interview that she is a very opinionated person who is trying to come off as more sensitive, and in another podcast that she is a perfectionist who finds it natural to take control and did confess she could overdo it to a bit of a fault at times.
9w8s (known as the referee) are known for being assertive and stronger with their opinions, whereas 9w1s (known as the negotiator) are likely to be less prone to seek rebuttal in a way. 9w8s are a lot more likely to be more dominant and direct with their beliefs and opinions than 9w1s are.
i don’t see her as a 1 wing. i think her strong opinions and perfectionism being a part of her personality that's reserved for more personal relationships and professional roles (like producing her show) instead of very objective and explicit in her everyday life points to her being more a 9w8 than a 9w1, who'd instead be more overt with their opinions as a 1 enneagram tends to have their beliefs aligned with more objective values. additionally there is a bit of an idea that 9w8s are more likely to be extroverts, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they have to be extroverts, i think it has more to do with being people-oriented and valuing social harmony, which both apply to her while also being someone who's an Si-dom.
if i ever do some up with substantial enough additions to my observations of lizzie's typology, i think i will make a separate post like this one! but for now, these are all of my analysations that i've really enjoyed putting together and trying to understand. i think analysing her typology has helped me admire her more, and has also shed a lot of light on her mbti type and enneagram as i haven't previously known this much about someone with hers. i hope you all liked reading my observations and all, and i am also super open to answer any questions about anything i've written, or anything typology-related!
thank you for reading <3333

tell me about your interest in mbti!!! it’s something I was really into when I was in hs so like. throwback. did you ever look at the 8 I forget what they were called functions or smth? like how there are introverted and extroverted versions of N, S, T, F eg as an infp (?) you’re Fi, Ne, Si, Te ??? and also. If you feel like writing an essay on how this works/crosses over/makes muddled idk with neurodivergence I’m all here for it!! goes without saying no judgement on how much or little you know, I’m just curious to see the angle you hit it with because it’s been a hot minute since I interacted with anything mbti and I miss it!
hiiii
omg FINALLY an mbti enthusiast lmaooo, i had my phase like last year (?) bUt i still remember a lot
theyre called COGNITIVE functions, actually, and yea there are eight:
fi - introverted feeling fe - extroverted feeling si - introverted sensing se - extroverted sensing ti - introverted thinking te - extroverted thinking ni - introverted intuition ne - extroverted intuition
n each of the sixteen personality types has a dominant, auxiliary, tertiary, and inferior function
e.g. im an intp, so my cognitive functions are like this:
dominant function - introverted thinking (ti) auxiliary function - extroverted intuition (ne) tertiary function - introverted sensing (si) inferior function - extroverted feeling (fe)
sometimes people get mixed up w the orders or what shows the most, so similar types get mixed up bc they have the same functions in different orders. for example, the most similar type to mine is entp, and the entp cognitive functions are like this:
dominant function - extroverted intuition (ne) auxiliary function - introverted thinking (ti) tertiary function - extroverted feeling (fe) inferior function - introverted sensing (si)
im not sure how it crosses over w neurodivergency tbh, but i KNOW most everyone who knows abt this whole deal w cognitive functions is neurodivergent (including me lmao). i think its either bc nd people look for a way to make sense of people n understand them, or it could just be correlation n not causation lol
hope you enjoyed this :) i didnt rlly know what else to say except explain cognitive functions n shit lol

The Hunchback of Notre Dame - MBTI
This is my typing of each of the main characters, sans the gargoyles. I'm only going to discuss one of them in detail here, but I'll touch on each of the others as well.
Let's discuss what makes Phoebus such a healthy example of the ESTP.
Dominant Se: extroverted Sensing
Phoebus, as he's presented by Disney, just wants to live each day as it comes. He doesn't want to dwell on the past or stress about the future. He goes where he's called, thinking that wherever that is, adventure lies in store for him. His calm, collected, almost carefree demeanor makes one wonder if this man really has been at war for 20 years. Whether he has or not, he has learned through it all not to take a single day for granted. Sure, he can be impulsive and is just a little bit of a womanizer (moreso in the stage musical, but still far less so than in the book), but he knows how to keep these weaknesses in check and even use them as strengths. He's not as good of a flirt as he likes to think he is, but he stays humble enough to admit that. His Se is very well developed and shows all of its best strengths and qualities, tempered just enough by inferior Ni to keep Phoebus from jumping into everything without at least knowing and accepting the consequences.
Auxiliary Ti: introverted Thinking
This function is what gives Phoebus his skill as a strategist, a talent he's received numerous commendations for. Whenever he's presented with a new puzzle, he immediately goes to work breaking it down and analyzing each bit of it. His Ti also gives him a sharp wit, which keeps him cracking jokes. For a seasoned veteran, this is partly a coping mechanism, and partly a means by which he tries to relate to civilians in peacetime. But Phoebus is generally careful not to take it too far. His Ti is healthy, and is well tempered by tertiary Fe.
Tertiary Fe: extroverted Feeling
Phoebus' Fe is where his strength lies, and is the function that demonstrates the health of his personality type. He is in his early to mid 30s, so his Fe is at the peak of its development. It is the empathy function, seeking to relate to everyone around and tap into what they're feeling and experiencing. Phoebus displays a growth and maturity of this function in the right position at the right time that every ExTP should seek to emulate--quite the contrast to Clopin. Phoebus uses his Fe to key into what the other characters are feeling and is able to respond to them appropriately for the situation. This allows him to immediately respect Esmeralda as a person, for all that he admires her as a sexy young woman. He can remain stoic in the face of Frollo's flagrant admission to genocide, and knows the right moment to put his foot down. He stays in his position as long as he can with the clear intention of tempering Frollo's orders issued in rage, hoping to control some of the damage that Frollo is doing. But he also will not compromise when he sees others being put in immediate harm's way for Frollo's own ego. And he doesn't even consider his own safety or life when running into a burning building to rescue children, knowing full well he will probably be executed for saving such young lives.
Inferior Ni: introverted iNtuition
Phoebus is still a bit young yet to begin developing his Ni. But despite this, Ni doesn't seem to trip him up much, and it complements his Se well, even in this underdeveloped state. As mentioned above, Phoebus does not do much of anything without at least knowing what the consequences could be. Ni makes him accept them. It allows him to roll with them, and to change directions on a dime when need be. It gives him the focus necessary to see everything he does through to the end. No doubt that when Phoebus does start to develop this function in earnest, the end result will be a very wise and well rounded ESTP, who will be able to coach the next generation to become the best of themselves as well.
Leading with Se can make Phoebus appear shallow to those who don't know him well, and initially he is. But because of the strength of his other functions, Phoebus is capable of getting very deep. And the thing about the healthy ESTP is, once he goes deep, he never resurfaces. That's what gives this type its loyalty. And this is the type of loyalty we see in Phoebus. As far as fictional ESTPs go, Disney's Phoebus de Chateaupers is the single best example one can get.
Quasimodo - underdeveloped INFP
Because of Quasimodo's sheltered upbringing, he does not have much opportunity to develop his functions. He's 20 years old and should be working on his tertiary Si, but he's barely been allowed to even venture into exploring his Ne. However, despite being brought up by Disney's unhealthiest INFJ, Quasi has managed to develop a rather healthy Fi, making him an idealist. He's able to develop something of a sense of self and a defining moral center, and this allows him to connect with fellow Fi-dom Esmeralda. Quasi also has a very active imagination. If we consider the gargoyles figments of his imagination, this tells us that despite being isolated in the bell tower all his life, Quasi has still managed enough exposure to other personalities to be able to craft extremely fleshed out characters to reside in his paracosm. He can consider a multiverse of possibilities, and it gives him an idea of what he believes a perfect world would look like. His stunted Si will make adjusting to the outside world difficult, but at his age, his Te should be relatively unaffected.
Esmeralda - Blossoming ISFP
Like Quasimodo, Esmeralda is quite the idealist, with a solid moral core that she will not compromise on. Unlike Quasi, she has had time to discover who she is, and she is firm in her identity as a Romni, vocally proud of her heritage. She takes each day as it comes and doesn't consider a multitude of what-ifs the way Quasi and other Ne users do. Her outlook on life is shaped by her auxiliary Se. She doesn't worry about the past or the future because each day has enough trouble of its own. She is busy developing her Ni, which has her focused on rolling with the punches and using obstacles to her advantage. She serves as a nice foil to Phoebus' ESTP, bringing out the best traits in his type. And she offers solidarity for Quasi, who leads with Fi just as she does.
Clopin Trouillefou - ENTP caught in a loop
Clopin's age in the film is unknown, but considering he's the Rom baro (i.e. chief) of his community, there's no possible way he's younger than 35 (which is insanely young for a Rom baro) and little chance he's younger than 45 (which is still awfully young). So we have to assume that he is at an age where he should at least have started developing his inferior Si, the guiding function. But Clopin has a bit of a problem: He's looping between his dominant Ne and tertiary Fe, with his Ti being diminished to the point that he's capable of some very dumb things (not that we're letting Phoebus off the hook for falling for Frollo's ruse, but to be fair to him, he was suffering from blood loss and a concussion at the time). The Ne/Fe loop causes a person to tap into the toxic aspect of their empathy, feeding off of and reciprocating the negative emotions in the atmosphere, focusing on all the negative possibilities, and actively looking to suck all the energy out of others in a very unhealthy fashion for all parties. Clopin is in danger of becoming the Romani version of Frollo, albeit an extremely extroverted version. Letting his Ti become diminished is why Clopin foolishly takes all his guards off the entrance after capturing Phoebus and Quasimodo, which of course makes Frollo's work that much easier, allowing him to take the Court of Miracles without a fight. Hopefully with the pressure Frollo put on the Roma now gone, Clopin can claw his way out of that loop and start using his Ti and Si in a healthy manner again. He really is quite clever when he's a healthy ENTP.
Judge Claude Frollo - INFJ who should have gotten a grip, but ended up in one instead
Frollo had so much potential, and it all got shot to hellfire. As an INFJ, he had the rarest type, especially for men, and one of the most potent of all the types. His focus and empathy should've been bar none. He should've been the confidant; the compassionate priest he started out as in the novel. But early in his career, he allowed himself to slip into a loop between his Ni and Ti, and he never got out of it. He considered himself intellectually and spiritually superior to all around him, and could list out every last little reason why. And then Esmeralda came along and unwittingly plunged him into the grip of his inferior Se. He would've ended up there eventually, but Esmeralda is the one who sent him over the edge. Se is the sensory experience function, and at Frollo's age he should've already developed it in a healthy fashion that would allow it to temper his Ni. Normally, Se helps Ni remember the needs of the flesh--food, water, rest, relationships, etc. It acts as a reward system for Ni's focus and ambition. But when the Ni-dom is caught in the grip of Se, Se is taking revenge for being neglected for so long. Now it's all about the flesh. It's all about what Se wants right now. And you can't escape. Enjoy your guilt, Frollo, because Se is gonna pile it on as part of your punishment.

Sugar Apple Fairy Tale: Shall Fen Shall [ISTP]
Tumblr media
MBTI Type: ISTP Introverted - Sensing - Thinking - Perceiving
Introverted Thinking (Ti): Shall is logical, analytical, blunt, detached, and unemotional. He has an intense need to deeply analyze and understand the world and himself; and posseses a subjective logical framework in which he weights everything upon and that he'll never break. Ex: He didn't accepted to be Anne's friend because she owns his wing and is her slave. (It's illogical to be friend of someone you own.) In the LN it's shown that he assesses people and situations immediately upon encountering them. He's constantly trying to figure out other people's motivations and the reasons behind their actions. Shall thinks that: Anne treats fairies as people because she feels lonely, Lafalle's real motivation is revenge, not freedom, etc. He has great deductive reasoning skills too, like when he figured out the truth about Lafalle. Shall takes the most logical approach to problem solving: Upon seeing Anne in the slave market he told her to buy him so he could steal his wing back. (This is a very Ti way of doing it, by thinking of a way to hack the circumstances in his favor.) And sold himself to Bridget to find Anne's sugar.
Tumblr media
Extraverted Sensing (Se): He's a skilled warrior that enjoys the adrenaline of a good fight, observant of his environment and quick to leap into action when needed. Calm under pressure and confident in his ablities, able to improvise and think on his feet, like when he left the sugar trail (Ti-Se). He's comfortable living in the moment travelling with Anne, and is very physically affectionate with her. It's natural for him to constantly hug, kiss, and hold Anne's face.
Tumblr media
Introverted Intuition (Ni): He's insightful, constantly reflects on many topics, and has a sixth sense that he relies on: he accurately discerned Lafalle's past without any clue of it. Shall is laser focused on keeping Anne safe and makes it his mission to protect her forever. But, this is also his blindspot function, he was so focused on protecting Anne from Lafalle that he didn't foresee him threatening her friends to get to her.
Tumblr media
Extraverted Feeling (Fe): The source of his low emotional intelligence is his inferior Fe, it's his weakest and most underveloped function, he's highly unaware of his feelings which is a common Ti-dominant problem. He enjoys riling Cat up because it improves his mood, which indicates immature Fe. He doesn't understand or recognize his emotions at all, and takes a very long time to discover his feelings for Anne. He generalizes that all humans are the same until he meets Anne and slowly starts to change his pespective on people. However, he has a warm and caring side that he shows to Anne mostly by acts of service: supporting, protecting, and helping her solve her problems (Ti-Fe). He likes to feel needed by Anne and puts her needs above his own. At the beggining he was cold, uncaring, and extremely hateful towards humans, but by being with Anne and Mithril and caring for each other, and eventually interacting with Anne's friends, he starts to become more sympathethic towards people (Fe development).
*In the LN Shall is in a Ti-Ni loop: A loop happes when the person bypasses the auxiliary function and becomes looping between the first and tertiary function. As a result he's disconnected from the external world. He’s obsessed with overanalyzing everything and can’t make sense of his feelings. He’s locked inside of his mind. Certainly, he’s an introvert and needs to engage with his inner world of thoughts, but he’s too detached with the outside world which is unhealthy. Loops happen under heavy stress, he's been a slave for 70 years, so obviously he wouldn’t want to engage with the outside world. Fortunately, he found Anne and she has influenced him positively. Shall has great potential for character development.

MBTI Grip: Se
An explaination on function grip in MBTI. Not an expert. May change later.
___
Grips occur when a type is under an immense amount of stress. Their other functions give up mentally and "shut down", which allows their inferior function to take over. A type in the grip begins to act like the unhealthy version of their inferior function, very unlike and opposite of themselves. Grips can last for a short while or longer, depending on how long the stress persists.
___
Se inferior (INxJ)
Se inferior types may struggle to enjoy the present moment as their minds are often set on what they need to do next. They can miss obvious details and struggle with daily routine. They can also let opportunities slip by since they are often not spontaneous or risk takers - they prefer to see how a situation may go and follow through with it.
When in an Se grip, INxJ will come out of their shell but in a careless, messy way. As Se is focused on the physical sensations, a very stressed INxJ will try to cope with stress by overworking their Se. They may start to over indulge in physical sensations and pleasures such as food (especially unhealthy food) and drinking, sexually risky behavior, tv and/or on their phones (screen time in general), drugs, sleeping time away, etc any unusual thrill seeking and risky behavior is part of the Se grip.
Engaging with the auxiliary function helps to alleviate the stress and to gradually break out of the grip. For INTJs, they have to use their Te; need to create plans and goals to achieve things to boost their focus and confidence. For INFJs, they have to use their Fe; engage with others, work on and improve their relationships with others. Both types should focus on setting realistic goals and expectations for themselves when trying to get out of a grip. Doing too much and having high expectations will likely result in failure and disappointment, only pushing themselves further into their grip. They need to learn to use Se to relax and to support their Ni and aux rather than a distraction.

Adam (Hazbin Hotel)
ESTP
Tumblr media
He was definitely the easiest to type in my opinion.
Dominant Se (Extroverted Sensing) / Inferior Ni (Introverted Intuition)
Tumblr media
Adam is impulsive, straightforward and enjoys doing things for the sake of it. He often does things with no consideration for the long term effects, or how his actions, indicating low Ni. He often speaks without considering the situation, which is how the angels find out about the exterminations. He enjoys killing for the sake of killing, which is why he offers the exterminations as a solution for the “overpopulation” problem in Hell, not really understanding that it would only keep Hell off of Heaven’s doorstep for a little while.
Auxiliary Ti (Introverted Thinking) / Tertiary Fe (Extroverted Feeling)
Tumblr media
Adam tends to rationalize his horrible behavior with his knowledge of social rules, and by stating that it’s “just the way things are.” While most people could rationally see that it is wrong and cruel, he is able to justify it by claiming the rules are black and white, and there is no need to fight against these social rules.
