Dear diary

How do I love myself again

When I'm not sure I ever really did

Maybe a time I claimed what was mine

Dropped denial and steeled my spine

When someone I loved wasn't put first

And I still carried out self-care

I cried and supplied needed comfort

I didn't get enough of growing up

And instead of dismissing what I felt

I acknowledged its validity then moved on

Before I let anyone else dictate my worth

Winter too far to freezingly squeeze

All vitality and assurance from my heart

I didn't need an excuse to love

Just the beat of my heart was enough

Every reason was reasonable

Back before I dissolved under the weight

Of expectations--taking credit for wrongs

That were never mine to right

How do I love myself again?

Tear out this page and start afresh

Forging forward on a blank new one

Writing to please me first and foremost

While sharing with those I care

Only that which I can actually spare

This is my pet project since 2010, when I became a writer, pretty much full time. In 2016 I opened a shop called The Poetry Dervish on etsy. The books are both in french and english, sometimes bilingual in one edition, and include print books, print short stories and pdf files. Also some artwork.

Your username honestly reminds me of all the time I've read about this season because where I live... autumn isn't a very distinct landmark in the path of time. 1. Are you named after anyone?

No. My name is a first in my family.

2. When was the last time you cried?

Today. I went to a funeral of a 14 yr old and it was heartbreaking, and so heartwrenching. 😔😭

3. Do you have kids?

I have 3 lovely daughters which are my pride and joy.

4. Do you use sarcasm alot?

No. I don' t like it, dispensing it as well as receiving it. It can hurt hearts and I don't like hurting anyone.

5. What’s the first thing you notice about people?

Their eyes, and their hands. If they have a smile on their face.

6. What’s your eye color?

Dark Brown

7. Scary movie or happy ending?

Happy ending always!

8. Any special talents?

I think I sing fairly well and I am a good cook. Im a trivia champion jajajajajajaja.

9. Where were you born?

Costa Rica

10. What are your hobbies?

Reading, cooking , singing. I would have said writing but I don't consider it a hobby anymore. (Its more akin to breathing now)

11. Do you have any pets?

My daughters beautiful cat Lyra (Does being a cat's grandma count? )

12. What sports do you play/have you played?

When I was in school it was volleyball, basketball, football, swimming. I still love swimming but now my love is running and weightlifting.

13. How tall are you?

I'm vertically challenged thats all I am gonna say. I could sure use some extra inches.

14. Favorite subject in school?

Science, Psychology, English

15. Dream job?

I have my dream job....I am a teacher but if I could have another dream job it would be to be a Dr or a full time writer.
