Ford Fairlane GT-X Concept, 1966. A prototype high performance version of the 5th generation Fairlane Hardtop that was prepared by Gene Winfield. It was powered by a 427ci side-oiler medium-riser V8, finished in pearl white with metallic blue pearl stripes and fitted with metallic blue Naugahyde bucket seats. It debuted in January 1966 at the Detroit Autorama and toured until early 1967. Like many Ford concepts of the 1960s the car was thought to have destroyed at the end of its show life. However it resurfaced in 2000 and has been restored back to its original condition.

jedním z důvodů, proč je proti zavedení povinné vojenské služby je to, že armáda tu prý není od toho, aby za kohokoliv vychovávala jejich “mamánky”.

padákem celkem seskočil cca 130krát. Přijde mu to málo.

letěl čtyřmi různými proudovými letadly. Piloty obdivuje za to, že “zatímco já jsem vynaložil 95% úsilí na zachování důstojnosti [překlad: aby jim nezblil kokpit], on u toho stihl pilotovat, komunikovat a a ještě mně vykládat o krásách přírody. I když já jsem teda už moc nevnímal.”

jednou letěl s “ožralým ukrajinským generálem, který měl v tý době ještě tak 2,8 promile”. Na otázku, proč s ním do toho kokpitu vlezl, odpověděl, že netušil, že byl generál namol - myslel si, že tak blbě vypadá furt. “On byl ještě sjetej z večera. No ‘z večera’, on skončil ve tři ráno a v osm se mnou sedl do letadla.”

aktivně se vyhýbá příliš silným motorkám, protože ví, že nemá sebekontrolu, a kdyby se mu nějaká taková dostala do ruky, tak bude tu rychlost pokoušet, dokud se nezabije

+ na závěr audioknihy byl ještě rozhovor mezi Pavlem a hercem, co ho namlouval, Martinem Stránským:

Stránský: Když jste si to poslechl, jste spokojenej se svým vnitřním já?

Pavel: Naprosto. Víte, jak se někdy zaposloucháte do nějakého hlasu, a cítíte k němu okamžitou averzi? Tak to přesně není váš případ.

Stránský: Tak to děkuju mockrát. Víte, pro mě je to důležitý, protože já jsem se už několikrát takhle setkal s autorama, ale takhle, že bych měl tu příležitost a čest namlouvat někoho, kdo... no, když to řeknu blbě...

Not that I was capable of paying much attention at that point.”

once his pilot was a “completely wasted ukrainian general, who had to have a BAC of at least 0.28%.” When asked why he even got onto the plane with a pilot like that, he said he had no idea the general was drunk - he thought he just looked like that all the time. “He was still wasted from the night before. Well, ‘night before’, he stopped drinking at 3 AM and got onto a plane with me at 8 AM.”

he actively avoids driving overly powerful motorbikes, because he knows he has no self-control and he would just keep pushing the speed until he eventually killed himself

+ at the very end of the audiobook, there was a short talk between Pavel and Martin Stránský, the actor who voiced him:

Stránský: So, having listened to it, are you happy with the interpretation of your inner voice?

Pavel: Perfectly. You know the feeling when you hear a voice and you hate it immediately? Well, that precisely is not your case

Stránský: Wow, thank you. You know, this is really important to me, because I get to talk to the authors sometimes, but I’ve never had the opportunity and honour to voice someone who’s... well, this is gonna sound bad...
