Autistic people can have extraordinary abilities to focus on details. It's not about having a superpower; it's about a different way of seeing the world. Let's celebrate neurodiversity today and every day.

“Autism Awareness” vs “Autism Acceptance”
Based on what I experienced just now.
Autism Awareness is people just being aware. Nothing else. They still don't understand #Autistics.
Autism Acceptance is taking an effort to understand and to reach out. To work with.
One is harmful. The other is win-win.

autism acceptance month 2024
Art for autism acceptance month! Here I drawn my neosona, along with my boyfriends neosona. We are both diagnosed with autism and we share similar hardships living with autism having to deal with stigma, but we are stronger together. On autism awareness month, please hear me out: we don’t want awareness, we don’t need a cure, and we just need our voices heard and to be accepted.

Donors Choose Project: Just a Piece of the Puzzle - Odessa, Texas - $198 Needed
Puzzles have been a favorite toy of children and educators for a long time. Giving our kids a variety of puzzles enhances their early childhood educational experience both at home and school. Some of the skills the puzzles enhance are Cognitive skills, fine motor and hand-eye coordination. Having a variety of puzzles for their age level is very important in their development and we have a different level children in our class, some of our kids need knob puzzles and some can do floor puzzles.
Puzzle can provide a lot of motor skills and cognitive skills for our life skills students.
Puzzles would make a great break time activity for our students to keep their brans fresh and to unwind. This would make a wonderful gift and activity for our kiddos.
Thank you for contributing to our project and our students.

So, my friend just lost his SSI disability case, and now he owes the government over 6k. If anyone wants to know how little the government cares about disabled people here's an example. And I might be next.

Autism Speaks: A Critical Perspective
Autism Speaks is one of the most well-known organizations in the autism community, but it has been subject to significant criticism from many within that community. Here's why:
Stigmatizing Autism: Autism Speaks has been accused of promoting a stigmatizing and harmful narrative about autism. For example, in 2009, they released a video titled "I Am Autism," which depicted autism as a malevolent force that destroys families. This portrayal has been widely criticized for promoting fear and misunderstanding, rather than acceptance and support.
Lack of Autistic Representation: Despite its name, Autism Speaks has been criticized for not including enough autistic voices in its leadership and decision-making processes. Until 2013, there were no openly autistic people on its board. This lack of representation has led to accusations that Autism Speaks is an organization about autism that does not include the voices of those it purports to represent.
Focus on a Cure: Autism Speaks has been known for its focus on finding a "cure" for autism. Many in the autistic community argue that this perspective promotes a harmful narrative that autism is a disease that needs to be eradicated, rather than a neurodevelopmental difference to be understood and accepted.
Questionable Use of Funds: There has been concern about how Autism Speaks allocates its funds. In 2010, it was reported that only 4% of the organization's budget was spent on services for autistic people and their families. Critics argue that the organization should be investing more in supports and services that directly benefit the autistic community.
Lack of Support for Autistic Adults: Autism Speaks has been criticized for its lack of focus on and support for autistic adults. Many argue that the organization's resources are disproportionately directed towards research and awareness, rather than practical supports and services for autistic people of all ages.
While Autism Speaks has played a significant role in raising awareness about autism, these criticisms highlight the importance of ensuring that advocacy organizations truly represent and respect the communities they serve. Advocacy should be about promoting understanding, acceptance, and support, not fear and stigma. It should be led by the voices of those it seeks to represent, and it should prioritize the needs and well-being of the community above all else.

My loops worked hard for their money last night. Some people who live near me were having a party and playing loud music. In the past neighbours parties have caused me to have meltdowns but whith my loops I can't hear the music at all. I am so thankful for them. Later in the night after the party there was a thunder storm and my dog was panting which like loud music is triggering to me but the loops cut the thunder and my dogs panting out. I slept pretty well last night with no meltdowns which is great.
Image Description:
There are two pale pink loop ear buds. I have edited the photo so they have eyes. One says "phew!! What a night!!" The other loop says "yeah I know!! First the neighbours were having a party than there was a thunder storm!!" End Description.
