im gg16 on ao3 and i've commented a few times on your stories but wanted to come here to let you know how much i adore your writing! i get so excited whenever i see RN or BOAH has an update and can't wait to see what you work on next! i wonder this with most authors especially when they have long fics that are like 40-50 chapters but with RN when you first started was their specific things/events you knew you wanted to happen by the end? like how far out did you plan?
Yes I recognize your name HELLO!
Thanks for coming over here with your lovely comments 🥰.
Oh RN. This story started in my head over a decade ago with me thinking up the apology scene in Chapter 8. Over the years, my mind started asking questions about how I'd even get a character like Draco to that point and have it feel authentic. D/Hr was always a pairing I read and imagining how these two could realistically find their way to one another occupied my brain for years.
Some of the earliest scenes/details I dreamt up long ago: the apology, draco seeing a healer, the dreamless sleep vial scene, the cafe convos, Draco's meltdown in chapter 12, the opera chapter and the morning after (😏), the surprise confrontation with narcissa, the way Ron reacts, the double date with the Potters, the elves, and Theo's arc.
And when all these other background details started screaming at me to be strung together and I envisioned an endpoint for it all, I unloaded it all into a doc in 2019. I didn't think I'd share it. I just needed it out of my head. I didn't pay attention to a word count or chapter count, I just needed to write it all out over about a year and a half until I felt I'd told the story I wanted to tell with these versions of my favorite characters.
Thank you for the fun ask! ❤❤

like a river flows - gg16 - G, 5 chapters - “Glass. Slippers. Glass slippers. Even if you don’t care about the woman out there, aren’t you a little worried about your own feet?”“I didn’t think it would be that bad!” Draco glared at the princess. He didn’t have to explain himself to her. She was a guest in his palace, his country.“Don’t you have advisors to warn you? Or anyone with common sense in this palace?” Hermione took another step forward, nearly putting her chest to chest with Draco. This was who wanted to take over her country, her birthright?
