I'm pretty new to Samantha Chase, which means I've barely touched the surface of her Montgomery family romance, but I'm already invested. The first book in Chase's Wylder Love series focuses on Lily and Noah - Lily being a Montgomery and Noah working for them. Of course, families are involved, so we get time with several of the Montgomerys. For me, that means I got to visit with some favorites as well as some I look forward to meeting.

As for Lily and Noah, I'd have to say that I haven't been so frustrated with a couple in quite some time. I wanted to shake the daylights out of one or both of them several times, especially Lily. The thing that kept me rooting for their HEA was Noah. He's an absolute sweetheart, and just between you and me, I think he wanted to shake Lily a few times as well. But he didn't, and I just loved him to pieces.

Amy McFadden gives voice to the characters, and she does a good job. She really captures Lily's spirit and spunk. I'd have liked a male narrator for Noah, especially since the story is in dual POV, but I don't feel like that hindered my enjoyment of the book.

In this first in a new series, Samantha Chase has introduced some fun characters that I can't wait to learn more about. I'm really looking forward to seeing what's next for the Wylder Love series.

I am finally back on track after a very long reading slump. When I started this book I knew it would not be the best choice to get rid of my slump but at the same time, I really wanted to read it. This would be my first self-growth book review and I am very excited to share it. Dale is truly an amazing writer and lecturer. His lessons are the type of lessons that will never get too old and that is why the book keeps selling and leaders continue to learn from it. ✨ I annotated a lot in this book as you can see in the photos as well. Who do you think is the best antagonist or anti-hero in literature? Answers will vary based on readers' preferences and likes, but one name I keep hearing and reading about is Thrawn. Introduced by Timothy Zahn in the '90's for Star Wars sequel trilogy (this was the original one before Disney bought Lucasfilm, now its part of the Legends series), many hailed Thrawn as the best antagonist written. He (Thrawn) is compared to Sherlock Holmes and Professor Moriarty, 2 other beloved characters in literature, but IDK so I decided to immerse myself in the Thrawn trilogies myself. Chaos Rising is the 1st in the prequels Thrawn Ascendancy. The next one's, Thrawn Legends, is the 2nd trilogy about him. Both trilogies are adult sci-fi-military-political-thrillers. Chaos Rising gives readers a thorough background of Thrawn's people, their political structure, and technology, but not much insight into his ingenuity, which is part of his charm. He's insanely smart but some of his conclusions have to he held with suspension of belief, which is hard to justify if he doesn't have The Force. This is also written like a non-fiction textbook chapter you'd have to study for history class, which made it clinical and a little dull for me. I liked my history classes but I don't want to feel like I'm studying for an exam! Especially with the amount of times I had to go back and reread some parts. Cherry Tomato Vinaigrette

The finely chopped parsley is what heightens the flavor in this savory tomato salad.  It fixes quickly and really makes a flavor impact.  Serve it on a bed of cut greens to add crunch.  Makes diabetic friendly food a delight!

Dressing:

2 T. olive oil

1 t. red wine vinegar

½ t. oregano leaves, dried

½ t. sea salt

½ t. ground pepper

Salad:

1 ½ pt. cherry tomatoes, halved

1 T. fresh parsley, finely chopped

1 c. feta cheese, crumbled

In a small bowl, whisk together oil, vinegar, oregano, salt and pepper - set aside.  In a large salad bowl,toss together cherry tomatoes, parsley, and cheese.  Drizzle dressing over salad and toss thoroughly to coat all ingredients.  Serve on a bed of greens - oh yeah!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you to #netgalley and Flatiron books for an early listen in exchange for a honest review. For an audiobook to be good, it takes a great narrator. This audiobook has three good narrators. Without those three brilliantly cast, perfectly distinct voices, I would not have been able to finish this book, despite the good story telling. As I listened, I couldn’t help but compare this novel to Saint’s debut, Ariadne. I loved that retelling—particularly the way in which Saint turned a tragedy into a coming-of-age story with a bittersweet, but hopeful ending. Saint took on three myths for this daring retelling, and her writing style admittedly kept me listening. I honestly believe that she was the only author who could tell both Elekra and Clytemnestra‘s stories in a way that makes both characters relatable. I’ve always had a particularly seeing Electra as a hero, and this certainly helped. First, you just can not go wrong with Shane East, and he proves that once again with Nana Malone's The Saint. Kyo Sija was completely new to me, but she certainly held her own as the voice of Kaya. Both narrators did an excellent job of bringing out the drama and intrigue as well as the romance.This is the third book in the Gentleman Rogues series, and while I haven't had the pleasure of reading the first two, the storyline here is easy enough to keep up with. I do intend to catch up on those earlier books because now that I've met the Rogues, I want all the details. If they're as fast-paced as this one, I'm in for some heart-racing reading and/or listening time. As mentioned, the storyline is easy to follow, and we're given everything we need to know for this book. That said, I still hesitate to call it a standalone because there are some unanswered questions, and the epilogue leaves us with a bit of a cliffy (I'm assuming that's a lead-in for the next book).Do be prepared for plenty of action with your romance. Kaya and Saint's story has flavors of Mission: Impossible and Bourne Identity combined with a steamy romance that certainly sees its fair share of miscommunication. This pair also sees plenty of danger with some near misses and, of course, a kidnapping - once you start reading and figure things out, you'll understand that mentioning a kidnapping is not giving away the book's secrets. It pretty much has to happen with this kind of storyline. To sum it up, The Saint is everything I've come to expect from Nana Malone, and paired with Shane East and Kyo Sija for the narration, this one is a must-listen.
