Why did Levi choose to stay behind with Yelena when the alliance was battling the Yeagerists? I know he was left behind at first because of his wounds, but then Levi put himself forward when the Beast Titan showed up. And likewise in chp 136, Levi got stuck on Falco's Titan while the Alliance was battling the giants, but then when he saw Zeke he showed up. I see most people use these to prove that Levi doesn't care about anything but Erwin's promise. Sometimes I can't help thinking that Yams reduces him to an obsession with killing Zeke because he doesn't know what to write about him after Shiganshina and he thinks his role is over. And as a Levi stan, I'm sick of being shown this way in the finale and having fans making these statements.
You have to remember that when the alliance went to retrieve the plane before getting into a battle with the Yagerists, it had only been about a day since Hange found Levi and treated his wounds. He was SEVERELY injured. He didn't yet have the strength to fight, and would have only gotten in the way of the action had he attempted to do so. If people are really trying to float this ridiculous notion that Levi didn't participate because he didn't care about the fight, or his comrades, then I'm sorry, they're either brain dead levels of stupid, or they didn't read the manga. Levi's entire character is centered around how much he cares about his comrades.
He fought against Eren because the situation was dire and desperate and they needed all the help they could get. But the truth is, Levi shouldn't have ever even tried to fight. He was barely alive at that point, and was in no sort of fighting condition. He took a thunderspear to the face, basically, and people complain that "he didn't do enough". Like, get the fuck outta' here. It was an incredible act of courage that he took up arms in the final battle at all. He was further injured while saving Connie's life. He was coughing up blood, bleeding internally. Why anyone would criticize Levi for needing to sit out after that is beyond me, unless they're just a callous, cruel person. He took Zeke out because he was given a clear and easy shot. Zeke let himself be killed. It required little effort on Levi's part. That's hardly comparable to having to battle dozens upon dozens of spawning titans actively attacking, something Levi attempted to do before his leg nearly got bitten off. Levi also knew if he took out Zeke, it would end the Rumbling, full stop. What, was he just supposed to sit there and stare at Zeke waving him down, giving him a clear shot to kill him? That would have been stupid. Zeke specifically called out to Levi. Nobody else probably even realized Zeke was there, or if they did, they had their own hands full battling against the dozens of titans spawning on Eren's back.
Isayama never reduced Levi to any such thing as an "obsession" with Zeke. That whole notion comes from a bunch of idiots who don't know how to read properly, and have no grasp of Levi's character or what drives him. Levi was pivotal in organizing and rallying the alliance in the fight against Eren, and in gaining the victory. Without Levi's leadership in that final fight, who the hell knows what would have happened. I don't understand how anyone can read the manga and come away not seeing how greatly Levi contributed, and how much he gave in the final push against Eren and the Rumbling. He nearly died fighting alongside the others, protecting them and doing what he could to save what was left of humanity, despite being grievously injured. If all he cared about was Zeke, he would have killed Zeke any of the numerous times he had the chance to beforehand. In Shinganshina, during the raid on Liberio, in the forest, etc, etc... He didn't because he was always trying to do what was right for humanity. It was never about revenge, it was about honoring and giving meaning to the sacrifices of his fallen comrades. Not Erwin, but ALL of his comrades. I don't know why this is so hard for people to wrap their pea brains around. If all Levi cared about was killing Zeke, he wouldn't have acted as the de facto leader when Armin became indisposed and rallied everyone to keep fighting. If killing Zeke was all Levi cared about, he wouldn't have gotten Mikasa and Pieck up onto Falco's back after the fact, and whipped Mikasa into shape to deliver the final blow to Eren. WTF is so hard about understanding this for people, I wonder? Every action Levi takes is proof positive that he cared about humanity. The only explanation is that people are looking for ways to discredit Levi. Probably because they're butthurt that everyone hates Eren and loves Levi. Oh fucking well.
Anyway, I'm sorry if I sound pissed with this reply, but I'm sick to death of answering these types of questions. Like, Jesus Christ, if anyone feels that insecure about being a fan of Levi because a bunch of morons on the internet keep screaming about him not caring about humanity and being obsessed with Erwin or Zeke, then maybe they should take up a different interest. It's plain to see by reading the manga or watching the anime how much Levi cares. It's OBVIOUS. It's easy to debunk and counter these fools, because everything they claim is a falsehood to begin with.
Whatever. Again, sorry, I'm just so sick of this shit.

Hello, momtaku :) I'm new here. I was just browsing your snk 139 tag and read some interesting stuff you said about Levi. I like when you said you would've liked a conversation btw Eren and Levi but at the same time, you're glad that Levi's conclusion to the battle was centered on his fallen comrades and not Eren Jaeger as those are the people he treasured the most. However, I was just mulling over the timing of what Levi expressed to his fallen comrades in that panel. It seems he already knew the titan curse was lifted as he told them "You see that? This is the result of the hearts you dedicated". Now I could be wrong, but could this mean Eren had summoned him in the paths prior to these events and that's how Levi suddenly figured things out? Or maybe his focus is on commemorating his fallen comrades' memories, but at the same time, he's expressing his gratitude for Eren, that it was only possible through the rumbling that the hearts his fallen comrades dedicated meant something? I'm sorry if my question is confusing. It still doesn't make sense to me either considering the Ackermans are immune to the founding titan's memory manipulation.
Tumblr media
Something I've had to remind myself of is that Attack on Titan is primarily Eren, Mikasa and Armin's story. That wasn't always obvious. Early in the story it was easy to imagine that certain relationships might be important to the end game.
Levi as Eren's hero, mentor and protector was one of those relationships that felt significant, but was later (apparently) deemed unimportant to the narrative. From Erwin's death on, Levi's focus was exclusively on fulfilling his vow. He was still a part of the manga but he ceased being a part of EMA's story. That was hammered home in the epilogue when he was shown living a life completely independent of anything having to do with Paradis.
I don't agree that when Levi said those words he knew the curse was ended. Rather I believe Levi was expressing his relief that they stopped the genocide. The importance of stopping genocide was included in Levi's monologue in chapter 136. It was part of how Levi was giving meaning to the sacrifices of his friends. That's what he was fighting for.
Personally I feel like there is no way Levi would ever express gratitude to Eren for the rumbling. As I mentally flip through the manga volumes I am reminded of everything Levi lost because of Eren's action, especially when you consider that it was Eren who brought Zeke to Paradis. My read is that it's ultimately Eren's fault that Levi had to murder his squad who was titanized by Zeke. Eren's alliance with Zeke resulted in Levi losing an eye, several fingers and the use of his legs. Eren directly killed Hange. It's because of Eren's that people like Shadis and Nile died. It's Eren's fault that 80% of the world was murdered. Levi is a compassionate person, I know, but it's a huge stretch to imagine him being grateful Eren for any of that.
Thank you for the ask! I hope I understood it correctly and I hope I was able to express myself clearly.

Jujutsu Kaisen season 2: Everything we know about the new season so far
The second season of Jujutsu Kaisen is scheduled to air in 2023. Exciting isn't it? The smash hit anime of 2020/21 is set to enter its new arc, and on the heels of hit film Jujutsu Kaisen 0, more eyes than ever are on the adventures of Yuji and his friends.
Tumblr media
Do you need a back base? Next, we run the next installment rule to keep it until the next year. We've also looked at the source material to get an idea of what might happen next. And that's just the beginning - for more, read on to learn everything we know so far about Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2. For more on Medium, you can also check out our curated list of the 15 Best Anime Series You Should Be Watching Right Now.
Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 will air in 2023
As confirmed during an event in Japan (H/T Crunchyroll(opens in new tab)), Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 will be released in 2023. It can appear during one of three main anime release windows: Winter 2023 (from January 2023), Spring 2023 (from April 2023), or Fall 2023 (from October 2023).
If we had to invest money, we would say that it is most likely to be released in the fall of 2023. Not only did the original season begin in the fall window, but animation studio MAPPA has spent time working on Jujutsu Kaisen 0, Attack on Titan and the next Chainsaw Man. It's a tight schedule for any studio, and by early October 2023 they'll have plenty of time to deliver a second season that lives up to their absurdly high standards.
Chronicles of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2: Which Chapters Can Be Adapted?
The first season of Jujutsu Kaisen ended with the conclusion of the Death Painting arc which began in chapters 55–64 of the manga. If the anime continues to line up the manga in the continuing order, the next will be Gojo's previous arc, which consists of chapters 65–79 of the manga.
It revolves around, you guessed it, Gozo's past, specifically a mission where Gozo and Gato lead a star plasma vessel to Tangen.
If so, the second season could be a patchwork of flashbacks to Gozo's past, a big next arc: the Shibuya Incident (chapters 79–136). We're not going to get into spoiler territory here, don't worry, but the Shibuya incident arc is all about Goto and his plan to shut down Goto led by his new cursed alliance.
It has more than enough material for a 25-episode second season and seems like the most likely scenario. The Season 1 finale may also indicate the same.
After defeating the cursed wombat Aso and Kechizu, Yuji and Nobara rejoin Megumi. However, Tsukuna, due to the anime placing his mouth on Yuji's hand, eats the finger, moving him one step closer to regaining his power.
Expect the new season to deal with this evil invader as well as the third cursed wombat triple, Choso, who allies himself with series villains Gato and Mahito.
Jujutsu High also has a mole's little thing, in which the Utahime teacher is looking for the tricky magician. This too will form a big part of the upcoming season.
Do I need to watch Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie before season 2?
We'd definitely recommend it, but since the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie is a prequel to the main series, it's not necessary.
The film focuses on swordsman Yuta Okotsu, who, with a mild spoiler, will play a larger role as the jujutsu kaisen anime progresses. He's one of the most popular characters in the manga series, so you really should go and see what the fuss is all about.
There is also a post-credits scene that sets future events in the anime. It revolves around Yuta returning to Japan and joining the main series, although it is not yet known whether he will appear in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2.
It's also worth looking at from a holistic perspective: it does away with the concept of the world and the curse-ridden universe, while also creating a fascinating story in its own right. It can probably be skipped if you're short on time, but we really encourage you to check it out.
Where can I watch Jujutsu Kaisen before Season 2?
If you need to catch up on Jujutsu Kaisen before Season 2, all 24 episodes of Season 1 are currently available to watch on Crunchyroll. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, Demon Slayer Season 3, and other hit anime are also expected to be able to stream exclusively on the streaming service.

Japan Box Office: Shin Ultraman Repeats at No.1 with Strong 486 Million Yen
After making its impressive debut last weekend, Shin Ultraman has kept its No.1 spot for two consecutive weeks.
The Shinji Higuchi (Attack on Titan live-action films, Shin Godzilla)-directed all-new live-action film inspired by Tsuburaya Production's original Ultraman TV series in 1966-1967 earned a still-strong 486 million yen (3.8 million USD) on 312,000 admissions in its second weekend, bringing its total to 2 billion yen (15.65 million USD) on 1.34 million admissions. The two-week gross was about 93 percent of that of Higuchi's previous film in 2016, Shin Godzilla.
RELATED: Japan Box Office: Shin Ultraman Beats Conan, Making Impressive No.1 Debut
A film that outperformed Shin Ultraman in terms of per theater revenue was The Quintessential Quintuplets the Movie, a sequel to the two-season TV anime adaptation of Negi Haruba's romantic comedy manga. The 136-minute film was released in 108 theaters across Japan (Shin Ultraman had 362 theaters in its opening weekend) on May 20, then earned an impressive 267 million yen (2.09 million USD) on 200,000 admissions, making its second place debut. Its three-day total reached 390 million yen (3.05 million USD) on 290,000 admissions.
The film even ranked No.1 on Filmarks' first day satisfaction ranking with an average rating of 4.15/5.0 based on 520 reviews.
Coming in third was Detective Conan: The Bride of Halloween, which earned 238 million yen (1.86 million USD) on 166,000 admissions in its sixth weekend. Its total box office gross has reached 7.9 billion yen (61.82 million USD) and surpassed that of the Conan anime franchise's third top-grossing film, The Scarlet Bullet (2021 / 7.65 billion yen).
As expected by many people, The Avenger Scar, the first part of the Fullmetal Alchemist Complete Edition, the two-part live-action film sequel of Hiromu Arakawa's internationally popular fantasy action manga Fullmetal Alchemist, bombed at the Japanese box office.
Despite the wide release with 349 theaters and the large amount of publicity on TV, the 125-minute film made a disappointing 72 million yen (563,510 USD) and ranked ninth in its opening weekend. The opening weekend gross was only 27 percent of that of the first live-action film in 2017. It is expected to disappear from the top 10 next weekend. The second part Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Transmutation is set to be released on June 24.
The live-action film adaptation of the Naoki Prize-winning author Mizuki Tsujimura's popular novel Haken Anime! failed to rank in the top 10 in its opening weekend. Meanwhile, the film about the Japanese anime industry ranked second in Filmarks' first day satisfaction ranking with an average rating of 4.00/5.0 based on 1,265 reviews.
Also, Yuki no Maki, the first part of the trilogy film project Toku Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru ~Setsugetsuka~, didn't make it to the box office top 10 in its opening weekend. Its average rating in Filmarks' first day satisfaction ranking was 3.60/5.0 (based on 70 reviews).

I really love talking about this panel
Tumblr media
because not only is Levi's lines: "Both...we're doing both" a callback to Hanji's words in the Uprising arc, that by which they both mean there is absolutely no room for giving up on achieving their goal i.e saving humanity, but also Levi is once again proving (to those who definte him as the obsessed "must-kill-the-monk" revenge-seeker in particular) there's more to his goals and intentions in the final battle. To me this is a sequence of his monologue in 136 and about how much he is desperately struggling with the possibility that the sacrifices of his friends might have been in vain. The only difference is that he's saying all these words out loud for the kids to focus on defeating the elephant in the room i.e Eren.
It's also worth mentioning that this panel is another reminiscent of Hanji's sacrifice and LEVI IS THE PERSON REMEMBERING IT. He thinks he NEEDS to give meaning to her sacrifice for humanity's survival. So in other words, that's his way of trying to fulfill Hanji's wish of stopping the rumbling. THAT'S WHY HE'S REPEATING THE SAME WORDS AS HANJI DESPERATELY AND PERSISTENTLY.
So please don't tell me you still think he didn't care about mentioning Hanji following her death!

tell me... when you guys devoted yourselves... was that in order to trample the hearts and lives of others? no... when we dreamed of a world without titans... i’m pretty sure that was an absurdly innocent and idealised world. because if it wasn’t... it wouldn’t have been worth what they devoted.

[SPOILERS from Manga!] Attack on Titan Theory: The baby was NOT PLANNED.
MAJOR SPOILER WARNING!! IF YOU’RE ANIME ONLY SKIP THIS POST!
I thought I’d share my own theory on the whole situation with Eren and Historia. Keep in mind this is just my opinion/interpretation of everything so far. I just want to get my two cents in.
I know suggesting that the baby isn’t planned sounds nuts, but hear me out. In Ch 130 we’re shown panels of Eren and Historia discussing the military’s plans for her, Eren telling her his plan, and Historia discussing a baby with Eren.
In one panel, Historia is standing in front of the wooden fence, on the left side of the panel; then in a later panel she’s standing in front of the wooden fence on the right side of the panel.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don’t think this is by accident. This implies that Eren and Historia met up more than once, which opens up a strong possibility of them meeting up several times in the past. So when Historia asks Eren about having a baby, we don’t know if she said that in the same conversation as the earlier panels. It could have happened at a completely different time. We only have a close up of her face when she says it, and we dont see the whole convo, which means we don’t know the full context around her bringing up a baby to Eren.
*Assuming they have met up several times, it begs the question, why does Eren even meet up with Historia? In my opinion, it’s because he has feelings for her, and they might be involved romantically.
We know that the songs for AoT can allude to or foreshadow events in the story. I feel like Eren and Historia’s meet ups were alluded to in two songs (that I know of) in AoT OST, “Zero Eclipse” and “Yuugure no Tori” (ed3).
Zero Eclipse (only later part of the song is related to Eren):
“Make a promise that I cannot regret, As long as I can see you but in secret”
Yuugure no Tori:
“I’ll sing out with my girl, Go to the meeting place sing alone”
If the Baby was Planned, It Would Contradict Eren’s ideals/motivation
Another reason I don’t think the baby is planned is because if the point is to not produce kids just for a strategic purpose then why would Eren and Historia make a plan to do just that? (ie having a baby to put off Historia eating Zeke). Having the reason for making a child be reduced to convenience/serving your plan doesn’t sit right with me. It doesn’t align with Eren’s beliefs, in my opinion.
Assuming that Eren and Historia are romantically involved and have been physically intimate for some time, I think its fair to consider that this baby was conceived by chance (as well as love) rather than some sort of necessity brought on by a situation. I think upon hearing what the military was planning for Historia, Eren decided to make plans for another way that wouldn’t sacrifice her. I don’t think that involved making a child. I think the child came about by chance and the panel of Historia asking Eren about a baby was maybe part of a longer conversation where she was telling him that she was pregnant. I know I’m making a lot of assumptions, but I don’t think its impossible.
I think from there, Eren and Historia came up with a plan to hide the pregnancy in order to protect Historia from being connected to Eren, since he knew he was going to start going against the military and wanted to protect Historia from any association with that. And also, kept it secret because if Zeke some how found out, it would compromise Zeke’s confidence in Eren and mess up Eren’s plans. Eren and Historia’s plan to keep the paternity a secret involved lying about the due date and using the Farmer as a cover. I suspect the farmer guy agreed because he really did feel guilty about bullying Historia as a child. The fact that he felt guilty enough to work there for years opens the possibility of him willing to go along with Eren and Historia’s plan, so he can make up for everything.
Paneling Choices
Now I want to talk about Isayama’s choices when it comes to the panels in ch 130, specifically in regards to the scene of Eren making his plans, Eren and Historia talking, and Eren and Zeke discussing Mikasa. How Isayama chose to order these panels seemed to me, very intentional and meticulous.
In the previous panels in the same chapter we see Eren refusing to allow Historia to be sacrificed and we see him willing to go against humanity for her (and Paradis as a whole). Isayama decided to shows us the process of Eren deciding to carry out this plan through his interactions with Historia, as if to convey that she’s a big reason for why he’s doing all this. He’s emphasizing her importance in how Eren came to start this mission by positoning her front and center. This sequence ends with Eren telling Historia that she saved him, paralleling Mikasa in a big way.
Then, we go to a conversation between Zeke and Eren about the Ackerman bloodline. Zeke is clarifying to Eren that there is no ingrained behavior and that Mikasa does all these things for him because she loves him. And right after Zeke says that, there is a panel of Eren and Historia. I feel like Isayama gave us an explanation of Eren’s actions right here. A discussion about Mikasa’s affection and devotion juxtaposed with images of Eren and Historia right after we saw several panels of Eren doing exactly what Zeke described Mikasa does for Eren, in my opinion, was meant to indirectly allude to why Eren is doing this and how he feels about Historia. Isayama doesn’t want to give it away just yet, but is giving subtle breadcrumbs. Using Mikasa’s feelings to juxtapose probably threw people off too.

It’s my opinion that Eren loves Historia. There’s other evidence that people have pointed out that I also agree with, but I won’t delve deep I’ll just mention them here:
-Hanji noticing Eren smiling at Historia and defending her wellbeing, then asking Eren about it. Eren snaps at Hanji when she brings up Historia.
-Historia getting teary eyed when Eren defends her in the meeting.
The only person Eren has been consistent with protecting this whole time has been Historia. His desire to protect her never wavered. He’s been talking about protecting her since the end of season 3. The only person we’ve seen Eren confide in (about his plans etc.) is Historia. She’s clearly significant to him.
What Eren Kruger Said to Grisha
Another reason I think Eren loves Historia and is romantically involved with her is because of what Eren Kruger said to Grisha. The Attack titan shifter can see future memories as well as past ones. Kruger told Grisha to “love someone in the walls, build a family. If you can’t do that, the same cycle will repeat itself. If you want to save Mikasa and Armin, carry out your mission to the end”. I think Kruger was also talking to Eren here, OR Isayama was alluding to what Eren will need to do in order to save everyone. In the anime, they added a line for Kruger, he says “someone in the future might see this [moment/memory of their conversation]”. I think it was added to establish that there may be a link between what Kruger said and what Eren is doing. Afterall, we know Eren saw this conversation.

I think Eren did fall in love, with Historia, and is building a family (conceived a baby by chance), and something about the experience of love and impending fatherhood has played an important role in Eren carrying out this mission and ultimately saving Armin, Mikasa and Paradis, while also ending the cycle of hate.
In Ch 130, we see Eren saying that he has to do the rumbling in order for the cycle of hate to end. Similar to what Kruger said. Everything is happening exactly as Eren saw it, we saw that with that little boy Halil (or was it Ramzi?). The future memories were all correct, so if Kruger was speaking based on future memories then what he said about love, building a family, saving Armin and Mikasa, probably had truth to it.
Eren’s Talk with Mikasa in Ch 123
A lot of people see this as an ErenxMikasa moment but since Eren and Zeke’s conversation in Ch 130, I don’t think that’s the case. In Ch 123, Eren asks Mikasa “what am I to you?”. Mikasa flusters and says “family”. I think Eren asked her this because he was suspecting that her Ackerman bloodline was influencing her decisions. This probably worried him because he didn’t want Mikasa to be a slave to her bloodline. Mikasa’s answer didn’t clarify anything for him. He was left ambivalent on the subject and that’s why he asked Zeke about the Ackerman bloodline.
Mikasa says in Ch 123, that maybe if she gave a different answer things would have happened differently, but Zeke did give Eren a clear answer about how Mikasa felt. Eren knew how she felt and it didn’t change anything. Eren was concerned about the Ackerman bloodline influence because he wanted Mikasa to be free, not because he’s romantically interested in her.
I do realize I could be dead wrong. I know suggesting the baby wasn’t planned is a huge stretch but I just thought I’d put it out there. I just want it to be true so badly lol. Even if the baby is planned, I think there’s still some truth to some of the other things I pointed out. This was just a fun thing for me to do. I normally don’t write long theory posts, but I figured why not since it’s so close to the end and everyone is speculating. Why not join in?
I think that’s it. I hope I’m not missing anything. As for how I think the whole story will end? I think because Eren freed Ymir, titan powers might cease to exist. But I don’t know how that’ll affect the 13 year Ymir curse if that does happen. So I guess we’ll see.
Feel free to share your thoughts. I’m not AntiMikasa or anything. Please be respectful! Thanks for reading!

It's really exciting and funny to know that manga porco is just: knitted eyebrows, internal demonic cursing, cold, hands shoved in pockets, sarcastic, does he even smiles?? Sort of character, who barely interacts with anyone except pieck and occasionally throws shade at Reiner. Like look:

And animated porco is just 🥺?? Soft around the kids, overly sarcastic with the officials like let me inquire anyway cause you know what? Idc!, startled with fluffy hair and just stupidly handsome!!!! And oh, still very salty with Reiner~

Spoilers!!!!!
I lowkey can't wait to see the part where he steps out of his titan all bloody and battered; and goes like "homie, I am the better man. Here's another failed suicide attempt for you, peace!"
