Vaccine Booster Headache gave me a Vaseshipping dream, whut? XD

Yeah, not kidding, I had vaseshipping dream after I went to bed early due to getting a headache from the COVID vaccine booster.

And darn this dream, albeit brief, was ridiculously cute.

So the basis of the dream was that Atem and Mana were in aged in their late 20s or 30s, living in ancient Egypt by some place near the Nile river by a set of palm trees and reeds where it was cool and breezy. Mana was still a mage, but Atem, for whatever reason my brain decided to make Atem a weapons-making master working at a forge for some reason.

And here Atem was, working at the forge indoors, making some kind of "master blade", and Mana comes in with their really cute 5 year old daughter (who resembles Mana but with violet eyes) after a day of grocery shopping at the food market, and Atem is just way overjoyed to see his daughter and picks her up, and the daughter is just giggling at being picked up by her strong father.

Vaseshipping (AtemXMana) is one of my favorites! 

Not only are they childhood friends, but I think Mana is the kind of person Atem needs. In the past, everyone treated him as a king first, except Mana. She sees him for who he is. She reminds him to enjoy life and have fun. Even with no memories of her, Atem was always smiling when Mana was around. The kind of smile he usually one has around Yugi. I can also see Atem always being supportive of Mana, and her magic.

What’s your OTP for your Muse?:

Oh gosh honestly it’s a toss up between Sealshipping (AtemxMahad) and Pleashipping (MahadxIsis). While I wouldn’t call it an OTP, a shout-out to Ringshipping (TKBxMahad). It’s probably the only ship I like that isn’t based on actual romance or where one party doesn’t want it.

For Mana, I’d have to say probably Vaseshipping (AtemxMana)

What are you willing to RP when it comes to shipping?:

Anything goes, honestly. Fluff, angst, abuse, manipulation, nsfw. Really whatever my partner is okay with.

How large does the age gap have to be to make it uncomfortable?:

I’d say about ten years maybe?

Are you selective when shipping?:

I need to know that there’s chemistry between the two first, but I’m not really selective. I mean, don’t go forcing a ship on me or anything, but if you wanna talk possibilities, then sure.

How far do steamy moments have to go before they’re considered NSFW?:

As soon as genitals are mentioned, it’s tagged and put under a cut. I may ask to take the fade to black approach because a) I’m usually kind of uncomfortable writing out the actual deed and b) I’m not very good at writing it.

Who are other Muses you ship your Muse with?:

@ancientgoldboundspirit is honestly the only one so far that I ship with on this account that isn’t from my OTP (and oh man do I really like this one)

I do adore close platonic relationships, too, so even if we don’t romantically ship our muses, close platonic ships are my absolute jam

Does one have to ask to ship with you?:

I am always open to discussing ships, but chemistry between our muses must be present. I like being able to talk to the other mun about it, especially since we can scream and cry about the ship together. 

And then you will realize I am Satan when I send you angst for the ship

How often do you like to ship?:

If it happens, it happens. I’m not going to force ships to happen. Shipping also isn’t my main priority here.

Are you multiship?:

I am! I try to keep it to one version of a particular muse per ship though. I’m not going to have a harem of Atem for one of my muses, but each one can be shipped with an Atem. For muses like Bakura, where there’s three different versions of him (Ryou, the spirit, and Thief King), it’ll still be one of each. Does this make sense? I’m still sick so idk.

I’m curious about a lot of ships actually! I’m a super open shipper but I’ve yet to RP any ship other than puzzleship/blindship and such. I do want CHEMISTRY when I RP any ship. Off the top of my head: Heartshipping (Yugi x Ryou Bakura), Wishshipping (Yugi x Jounouchi), Dragonshipping (Yami Yugi x Jounouchi), Peachshipping (YugixAnzu), Revolutionshipping (YamixAnzu) and Vaseshipping (AtemxMana). I’ve yet to RP these, saw a lot of cute fanart of them!

I’m indifferent about: Bugshipping (Yugi x Insector Haga), Spikeshipping (Yugi x Honda), any ship involving Yugi/Yami/Atem and a evil villain or really really minor character, and any ship involving Yugi/Yami/Atem and Yami Marik in particular. Doesn’t mean people can’t ship these with me, but I wouldn’t search fanart of these. But hey surprise me! XD

Ship that you find disgusting: 💩

Disgusting is a strong word, and I don’t voice my opinions so strongly. I’ll try though XD! Probably stating the obvious here, but Yugi x Solomon/Sugoroku makes me super uncomfortable? Or Yugi/Yami x underage characters like Rebecca (she’s 8 in EN dub, 12 in JP dub... WAY TOO YOUNG!). Yet I see shippy art of Yugi and Rebecca. You can age up a lot of characters, sure, but not so much with her because that age gap will be INCREDIBLY hard to fill. It’s Cloud StrifexMarlene all over again...

Ship that is taboo: 💦

Depends on what you consider taboo. I’m personally super lenient about ships. What I do ship that might be considered taboo is duplicate muses (Yami YugixYami Yugi). Scandalshipping (Priest SetoxAtem) might be considered taboo too. People might even find Puzzleshipping taboo. Might as well ask what yugioh ship ISN’T taboo lmao XD

Summer in between school sessions should be relaxing, but not with a full-time job. I finally understand why adults wanna fall asleep by 10pm. Two research projects that also require after-hour readings is not fun, yet I somehow found time to write my latest chapter for this. Yugioh is an old anime I doubt most people still watch (the original, not the awkward new versions), but I really wanted to revive it. I feel like I can give Mana much more depth as a divergent thinker and an Egyptian girl than the series did. Fingers crossed! Please support :)

The Pharaoh & His Princess

Gracefully Cruel

The man couldn't help but feel utterly weak. The sight was enough for him to feel wholly fearful.

His wife smiled weakly at the small infant in the midwife's arms. Even though her eyes sparkled with adoration, she tiredly whispered, "She's divine."

Her breathing became harder. She winced in pain and immediately the midwives and the Chief Healer were by her side.

The man rushed to his wife's side only for the midwives to plead him to leave and let them resolve the situation. "No, no." he pleaded, the world spinning in circles as he felt his stomach drop into a pit of emptiness. "Please, please, please stay with me, Mana. You have to be here, with us..."

He never felt the pulls of various healers, ushering him out of the room. He only saw her petite and weak figure. Her soft gaze on him with a drowsy expression. He tried to scream for her, but her figure was far from his grasp, and soon from his sight.

In another room, the man walked around anxiously. All he desired was to be at his wife's side. If only he could demolish the wall separating him and his wife.

His complete adoration and love.

How was it possible that their happiest day had suddenly turned into a nightmare? The man weakly leaned on the wall. His face was dismayed. How was it possible that the most powerful man in Egypt shivered in fear?

Soft footsteps entered the room. The man looked up and there she was.

His daughter.

She was soundly asleep wrapped in a small blanket. The midwife gently placed her in his arms and he let out a shaken breath.

She was exactly like his wife described her.

Completely divine.

With a soft smile, the man allowed himself to enjoy this small moment. She was finally here.

His daughter.

Their precious daughter. Their own child.

"Anippe," the man tenderly whispered. "Hello my love," he continued before hearing midwives and healers shouting across the other side. Tears now in his eyes, with a trembling voice he said in desperate prayer, "Please, reach out to Mama. Help keep her here."

However, the gods heard no prayers that day.

It was dusk when the man was delivered the heartbreaking news.

She was gone.

The man awoke and gasped hard. Sitting forward, he threw his sheets off him and sighed.

It was hopeless. No matter how much he tried, he couldn't sleep peacefully. The minute he closed his eyes he relived that tragic day all over again.

It had just been a few days ago that she died. Atem and Egypt mourned in deep pain.

His throat tightened as his eyes clouded with tears.

"Mana."

That's when he noticed the cries of his daughter. Faster than light itself, he was next to the small wooden baby bed where she laid.

Atem frowned slightly. She couldn't stop crying.

"Hello, Anippe. What's wrong dear?"

Carefully, he picked up his daughter and rocked her.

Even though he wanted to mourn and lock himself away from the world, he knew he couldn't.

Anippe's cries and coos are a call back to the living world, making Atem smile sadly. No matter how daunting, how agonizing, how heartbreaking his wife's death was, there is a life she created that must be lived.

Anippe was here because of her... There was a beautiful princess that needed to be fed, to be sung to, to be held close, and loved. She was his beacon of hope in his most distraught dark thoughts. He wouldn't let himself be consumed into a dreadful and dark place because... he had her.

Humming, Atem paced around his room. Anippe's cries slowly come to a stop.

Explanations will come in the years ahead. For now, he wants her to know how magical her mother was. He wanted her to know how captivated he was with her breathtaking beauty, both inside and out. He wanted her to know about all the pranks they pulled together, the trouble they caused in the palace, and when he had asked for her hand at the Nile river. He wanted his daughter to know that her mother loved her with every part of her soul. Just like he did.

Gazing at Anippe's sleeping form, Atem softly kissed her forehead.

But those days would have to wait.

For now, they both needed sleep.

The first week back in University was amazing. Felt like updating due to my good mood. However, the chapter was anything but a good mood. I cried writing this chapter. It's enough to lose a significant other and become a widow(er). However, becoming a single parent as well? I'm completely devastated just imagining the weight and heartbreak of those who such tragedy has been bestowed upon them. This chapter is in your dedication, single parents. Know that you are never alone. You are a literal angel, a hero, and most importantly, a parent to a precious blessing.
