Yo, long time no see! Mod Kokichi here with an update about this blog.

We are going to be starting this blog back up back up! I will revamp this blog to be a general blog about the fantasy AU I have created.

I will be going through and deleting all rp stuff as I no longer want to do that with this blog.

I will also be keeping everything else we have established so far.

Once the revamping is done here is what you can expect:

More written lore about other characters and not just Shuichi and Kokichi. Along with more world lore whenever we remember stuff.

Random text posts about all characters in this AU

Shuichi, Kaito, and Kokichi will be predominantly talked about but not be the only ones.

Hello! I wanted to start this off by saying I love this blog! Me and my s/o have made a fantasy au ask blog ( @ask-kitsune-kokichi-n-co ) and we are having trouble getting followers. If you could help us out that would be great! Also, Kokichi what would you do if you met a Kitsune version of yourself?

(Okay I have decided to put a little description up for Kokichi here: 

He looks relatively the same as in game but his hair actually reaches down to his shoulders so he usually has it tied up with something, only to keep it out of his way most of the time. He also has sparkly purple clips he uses to keep his bangs out of his face. 

He has purple colored fox ears on the top of his head that match his hair color while his two tails are long and thin. The coloration of the tails are black with purple tips. 

Clothing wise he’ll wear whatever, even if it doesn’t match. If he needs to care about his look for something he’ll be far more picky about his clothing choice and usually then its stylish flannels or something punk themed. His lounge/bed wear is just a stolen galaxy themed shirt of Kaito’s and his colorful boxers. (Though the shirt reaches at least to his knees.)

His fox form looks just like any ordinary fox, the exception being his coloration and two tails. He is a black fox with while his ears, the tips of his tails, his muzzle/face and feet are all purple.

Might make a list of his abilities next wont be a very long list though as he is still considered to be a young Kitsune )

World information

In this au mystical creatures are common and live along side humans. 

Magic is normal and most technology is fused with it.

The killing games never happened except for the first one still called the tragedy. Junko was stopped before her despair video could be released.  

Ultimates- These are genetically inherent talents that give the possessor unnatural abilities, making them a master at what they do. A curious thing also happens when their talent has awakened: Their Blood turns oddly pink. 

If forcefully awakened, artificially accelerated, or they get too overly obsessed with their talent, the ultimate will likely go insane/despair . ex. Junko

Hopes Peak has actually expanded to own a collage and is where this blog takes place most of the time. 

The collage is a mix of ultimate's (right side of the huge collage) and normal students (left side). It was created with the intent of finding those whose talents shown after high school, want to continue their education, couldn’t attended Hopes Peak High, and to help intergrade them within society. 

Makoto is head master, while Byakuya is co-head master. Kirigiri is Makoto’s assistant. They also practically run The Future Foundation. 

The Future Foundation basically scouts/tests for ultimate’s and keeps an eye on them to prevent another Junko from happening. 

Class 77 of Hopes Peak high go to this collage as Junko still made them despair. They were sent to Jabberwock Island for rehabilitation then were sent to the collage as a sort of permeate living space.

“Oh damn, you threw together a pillow fort while we were gone!” Kaito exclaims while the detective locks their door behind them. Suddenly, Shuichi could practically hear the other’s jubilation cut short, replaced with rather genuine surprise “Wait, those are our blankets!”

Kokichi was hidden in the make-shift fort, that somehow managed to encompass the couch and tv. He had borrowed the dinning room chairs to help make this possible. Hearing his two roommates enter, he couldn’t help but grin inside the fort. He let out a laugh at Kaito’s question. “Well duh. Whose else would they belong to, dog boy? I can’t exactly walk right out that door while the charm is on there now can I?” 

Kaito’s good mood was quickly replaced by annoyance at the kitsune’s response. He frowned and twitched an eye brow. “Dude. What did I tell you about going into my room... You can’t just take peoples shit without asking!” 

Kokichi kept grinning under the fort knowing neither of them could see him. “Yes. Well, If I had asked, then you would have said no.” His grin turned into a smirk as he continued. “Buuuuuuuuut, it doesn’t mater if I ask or not! Cause even if I had and you said no. I would still be sitting here in my new evil headquarters!”

The detective sighs quietly, shaking his head as he looks upon the scene unfolding. “U-um, we could probably use the credit card the Future Foundation gave us to buy more blankets?...” He suggests hesitantly.

“Headquarters smedgequarters, this better be the only crap you took!” Kaito groans, rubbing the back of his head; catching the blue-hair’s words, “As long as we’ve got a space to shove ‘em.”

Shuichi nods “Okay, we’ll work on that.” Before shuffling off to his room to put his briefcase next to his small study desk, except... All of Shuichi’s case files and books were everywhere but where they were supposed to be. The sight was more despairing then it really ought to have been, as any plans to work or study or even breathe were going to be put on hold until the detective tidied up.

Kaito waves the other off and directs his attention back to the voice beneath the fort “Well, whatever. We’ll work out dinner after I put my bed back together...” The werewolf relents, unwilling to let the situation go to complete shit and walks up to grab his blankets and pillows. “You could’ve jus’ told us...”

Kokichi’s ears had went flat against his head as he listened to Kaito’s and Shuichi’s back and forth. They were force back up when the werewolf talked about taking his pillows and blankets back. He let a pout cross over his face as he spoke back to the other. “But where’s the fun in thaaaaaaaat Momo-chaaaaaaan~”

Kaito huffs at the sudden use of a pet name from the other. He had started it with Shuichi and now it seemed it was his turn. “Don’t call me that, Ouma.” He quickly found his space themed pillows and blanket, easily removing them from the fort. Kokichi and half the couch could now be seen and the minute he saw Kokichi he knew he was going to start the fake water works. 

Kokichi did start faking crying before Kaito could even stop him. “Waaaaaaaahhhhh! Shuuuuuuu! Momo-chan ruined my evil base!”

Kokichi’s words pull the other up from his depression spiral. In one hand, the mess in front of him was caused by the kitsune, in the other hand... The blue-hair silently puts his briefcase down and walks back out, blinking at how barren half the room was now. “Well... That’s what you get for using flimsy materials in high demand, Ouma-kun.” He deadpans.

( Ah! I just realized I haven't explain D.I.C.E on here yet! Lets fix that.

D.I.C.E. was originally created by Kokichi and his 10 main members. It was created when Kokichi was very young (and still only just a fox) and started out as just a group of pranksters from an orphanage.

Once Kokichi gained his human form and a few more abilities he and the 10 members set out to find a base they could call there headquarters.

Said headquarters is actually located in something similar to his void holes but far more soild and real. It had taken a lot of his engergy to make something like that for being only one tailed at the time but he managed at the cost of only being able to crate what he now calls voids.

The base itself is basically reminiscent of a town or small city.

They started off with petty thievery to get by and also started adding more people they came across that needed the safety. Kokichi even started to recruit people that didn't live in the base. Those people were what he called his security, people who live on the outside that helps protect them. A new rule come aboht from this that if a member is seen having trouble to help them out no matter what. To him his growing group was his family and treated every one in it as such.

Soon petty thievery grew into more complicated and dangerouse hiests to provide for his group and Kokichi made a name for himself as the uncatchable Phantom Thief. Mostly to draw attention to only himself and not his still growing group.

They only stole from the corrupt and weathly and rarely hit the same place twice. At least not with in a short time range. They found it amusing when they hit the same place months even years after the first hit and still managed to pull it off.

Kokichi had also started to recruit people in power. Anyone he deemed capable of helping and protecting.

There are three types of members in his group:

The civilians: Who are the ones that live at the main base.

True members: Those that do hiests, dirty work, and basically help run every thing. With in this they either assigned to the base or as security. Depending on the their situation.

The main 10: who are the original founding members. They each run a base around the world and have actually done very dirty work (dispite the no killing rule, sometimes things couldn't be helpped). They are the only ones who get their hands dirty and deal with underground stuff. Kokichi is the only one without blood on his hands. The other 9 members make sure that he never needs or has too. They would take any burden to keep Kokichi safe.

(Mod Shuichi taking after Mod Kokichi here and dumping appearance info for Shuichi.) His hair is generally as depicted in canon, but it gets noticeably more disheveled when he’s stressed and he fiddles/combs his fingers through his front bang when he’s anxious or deep in thought.  The detective still has his baseball cap/hat but when he wears it more situational, when he needs to address people directly being the most common. Or simply embarrassed. He keeps it in his briefcase at all times if it’s not on his head. When Shuichi’s taking classes or heaven forbid (seriously this guy just wants to work cases from his dorm room >.>) at the police station/doing field work, he wears roughly the same uniform as canon; ie gray or navy-blue double-breasted jackets over white button up shirts, matching pants (with deep pockets!) and comfy loafers. If someone Kaito and/or Maki manage to drag the detective off campus for something other then business, he wears a lot of sweaters/turtle-necks with  reefer or double breasted trench coats/jackets (all detective-like) and continues wearing his uniform pants. If it’s too warm for that, then it’s graphic tees of various mystery/crime/puzzle media, a punk jacket, a pair of black ripped jeans he still has from his high-school days and black boots. He doesn’t like going out when it’s warm.  Shuichi has a few proper pajama sets that he mix-and-matches and will also forgo them entirely to wear those graphic tees with his boxers. That depends on his mental state and energy level.

(What’s next below here is discussion of  Dissociative Identity Disorder. Neither writers on this blog have D.I.D. but Mod Shuichi will do her best to depict it as tastefully and respectably as possible, and is doing research into it)

Shuichi has a split personality (D.I.D or  Dissociative Identity Disorder. He best fits under the category “Other Specified Dissociative Disorder” due to varying symptoms.) They both respond to and identify as Shuichi Saihara but are near opposites in all other ways. We haven’t introduced nicknames for them yet, but I’ll use them here to make explaining them more digestible. As these nicknames have not yet been added organically to our world, please refrain from using them in asks, thank you.

Shyhara is the one who fronts most of the time. He’s generally timid, anxious, polite and the one most concerned with how either of their actions or words could harm others. He’s sympathetic with low self-esteem. Shyhara’s also a hypocrite, he wants to help others and give advice, but refuses to apply said advice to himself. He’s book-smart, not people-smart and can easily get overwhelmed in large groups. When that happens, he pulls the brim of his hat down further and doesn’t speak unless spoken to; if he’s out with someone he trusts, he’ll lean into/against them until he can get away and relax.

Hyde (a reference to Doctor Jekyll and more specifically for this, his alter Mr Hyde, the character as a whole is typically depicted nowadays to have D.I.D. as well.) can be snarky, rude and crass... Or alarmingly calm. He’s the one who’s most impulsive and gets a kick out of angering or scaring others; anything to assert dominance and power. One thing he won’t do is physically harm anyone, that’s one of only two rules he’s inclined to live by. The second rule is to protect the select few he cares about, and Kaito is one of them. They’ll bicker and fight but as soon as someone else tries to butt in, Hyde intends to make sure whoever dared regrets it. Even though he’s oft stamped out by Shyhara, Hyde is actually the host; the original personality.

Between the two, Shyhara is more aware of their body’s lack of energy and does his best to combat it; as apposed to Hyde, who has in the past, knowing run their body into the ground just to worry others. 

They’re both obsessed with fictional detectives and to a lesser degree Kyoko Kirigiri, their mentor and supervisor. Shyhara respects her immensely while Hyde would love to get in her head and poke around.

The biggest reason Shyhara tries to repress Hyde is because Hyde has a strong obsession with killers. The more diabolical and ingenues the execution, the stronger the attraction. Kirigiri has advised the Police to funnel any and all cases they want to send to Shuichi through her first, expressly for this reason. The police don’t always listen and will send Shuichi unsolved cases directly anyway from time to time.

(As far as Mod Shuichi has read) Something more uncommon for people with D.I.D is that these two tend to share memories, often riding shotgun for the other. It’s like they’re driving a car. That’s pretty much how they’d describe their head-space. One usually has control of the wheel, while the other’s in the passenger seat and the popcorn gallery, complaining the whole way.

Another thing of note that’s quite common for Shuichi is the two personalities talking to each other internally. When that happens, he’s unresponsive to audio or visual stimulus as all his focus is internal. Sometimes he can be snapped out of it if they haven’t gotten too deep, but the best thing is to just wait on him. One of them will come back after a bit, usually whichever was just fronting.

Switching can be painful and they don’t always get to control who’s fronting. Another cause for the headaches how they switch, it’s almost always ripping control from the other, or getting ripped away via other means.

It’s also possible for neither personalities to be present, it leaves Shuichi looking and feeling like a husk of a person. He can still walk and talk, but there’s just... No one home.

Mod Shuichi may edit all this down the line, but she’s got a nasty headache herself after writing this.

Kokichi yawns and streaches like a cat. Mmmmmm~ that was a nice nap..."

Kaito glaces over at the kistune. "You were asleep for 6 hours Kokichi! I was honestly getting close to calling someone!"

Kokichi blinked and tilted his head cocking his ears to the side. "Whaaaaaat? B-But Shu was supposed to wake me up..." The fox-like male pouted

Kaito sighs and ran a hand through his hair. "He got called in for a case as far as I know." The detective seemed very excited and that was more then a little worrying for him. He knows how the half ghost can get with certain cases.

The kistune's ear drooped only slightly. "Oh."

Kaito noticed but didn't say anything. "But sleeping that long an't normal. What have you been doing when you are supose to be sleeping?"

Kokichi just stuck out his tounge before putting his arms behind his head. "Juuuuust planing with my evil orginization after all~ Its top secret and if I told you I'd have to kill you~ And I really don't wanna hurt that pretty little face of yours~"

Kaito only caughed awkwardly before rolling his eyes. "Yea right mr. Lair. But fine don't tell me just don't come crying to me if your lack of sleep catches up at the wrong time."

Kokichi forced a playful smirk onto his face. "Don't worry. I won't."

(Have A little snippet of what is now considered a past conversation between Kokichi and Shuichi. It’s the night before Kokichi started going to class. If anyone wants me to do snippets of Kokichi meeting each character for the first time just send in an ask!  ~Mod Kokichi)

Shuichi steps into his room, another long day of classes and nosy friends behind him. He sighs exhaustively and sits on the edge of his bed, hunching over. A moment of quiet passes as the detective relaxes enough to find his words. "Tomorrow is supposed to be the first day you'll be joining me in my classes... How are you feeling?" He doesn't bother addressing the kitsune by name, there was simply no need. Shuichi knew the other was there and awake.

Kokichi poked his head and upper body out of the void. he crossed his arms against the floor, resting his his chin on his arms as he looked at the detective. “You know when you talk like that people are gonna think you talk to yourself Shu~” He smirked then shrugged his shoulders. “What’s there to worry about? It’s not like I am being graded like you losers.” 

The Kitsune moved to put a finger to his chin tilting his head in a thinking motion. “Now that I think about it... I have never gone to a school before.” He then moved his finger to right above his lip with a smirk. “I mean when the orphanage found me they tried but I never went~ It sounded soooooo boring and I had better things to devote my time too. Besides I learned everything I know from my fellow kids, the streets and my past animal pals.”

The detective sighs, "Some people already think that." It was a slight exaggeration, collage pupils have probably never thought that. Shuichi continues, "Ah- but, you haven't been around more then a few people for a long time now, right? Just as long as you're prepared for that..."

Shuichi finds the energy to shuffle through his briefcase to pull out a notebook, he finally looks in the kitsune's general direction as the male extends it towards Kokichi. "I-I can give you a run-down of my classes as we move between them tomorrow, but I wrote them all down in this; what you do with the notebook is up to you." And then, rather hesitantly adds "S-some of these might uhm, interest you, as scary as the idea sounds..."

Kokichi pursed his lips slightly before lowering his ears slightly letting a bit of his true feelings. "Y-You want honesty? I really don't know. Guess I am a little worried. Maybe. It has been awhile..."

Seeing the notebook held out to him the kitsune crawled out of his little hole to sit right in front of Shuichi. He took the note book and looked it over. It was just a plain red notebook. Nothing really special about it.

Opening it he looked at what the detective wrote. He already saw few classes that sounded interesting enough to keep his attention. "A quick run down tomorrow might help. Maybe." He spoke without looking up from what he was reading.

Shuichi nods, "Y-yeah." The kitsune seemed to be placing some amount of trust in him and that sort of jumpstarted the detective's anxiety, but damnit now is not the time!

He finds his eyes drifting down to the other's hands, mindlessly looking at them, "Let me know if you need to step out of a class for a bit. My professor's already know you'll be with me a-and that you're, um... Different, i-in this case." Shuichi can't help but grimace at his use of the word different. And now, clean up the verbal mess you just made-

"They don't know anything more though, so don't worry about that, okay?" The detective back-peddles. "S-sorry, im probably not doing a good job of preparing you..." He sighs, lowering his gaze to the floor, resting his face in a hand.

Kokichi nodded "Okay. I know. They told me that all the professors know I'm not an actual student here. But to treat me like I was one unless you stepped in or something goes wrong with- No, Encase the bird comes. I always have to deal with the bird. Noone else should have too."

Kokichi panicked slightly seeing the other get depressed suddenly. "H-Hey, Your doing fine! This is new to you just as much as its new to me. B-But I guess you are helping. Maybe..."

"The bird..." The words carry like lead on his tongue, but Shuichi nods slowly. Just keep going along with it. "Y-yeah. I'll do my best, Oma-kun." He gives a small grin he hopes is encouraging. The male glances over to the small clock and the grin fades, "I'll- no, we'll need to be up by 7:30..." The detective yawns softly.

Kokichi nodded and gave a faint smile. He looked at the time and winced slightly. "If that's the case then sleep is needed." He crawled back over to his void to slide back into it. Luckily he was already in his sleep wear: a galaxy themed shirt stolen from Kaito.

Shuichi nods and stands once the kitsune was back in the void, changing out of his day clothes and throwing on an old T-shirt. He grunts, laying down on his bed; thoughts continuing to spin in his head. If he's going to be by me now, then I should just... "Uhm... K-kokichi-kun?" The male tries out casually addressing the other.

Kokichi froze in his void at hearing Shuichi use his actual name. A small blush dusting his cheeks. He just calls out from inside the void, voice muffled and slightly distorted "Yes Shu?"

"Goodnight"

"...Yea, N-Night shu!"

“Hello everyone! I am Kokichi Ouma! Though I may be a biiiiiiiiiit different than what your use too~” 

He twitches the fox ears on top of his head, while also moving his two tails up and down slightly. 

“I’m a Kitsune! And-” He lowers his voice to just a whisper. “ I have been very bad” His voice shot back to normal “Sooooooo now I am stuck living with two idiots...” 

He looked at his hand like he was bored. 

“So come~ Play with me~ And I might just tell you about my pitiful situation.”
