after we set up our xbox to get it via game pass because we can't buy it yet (gotta wait a week or two and then we're gonna spend so much on it)

i'm so fucking happy because of this game

we had a stable sleep schedule and now we're struggling to sleep again like i'm a kid again

For the ship ask game: Jedi Exile x Atton

- What made you ship it?

Atton's confession while he dies made me super sad and started me on this path. I wanted to hear him say all that just not when he was dying in the floor. 😭

- What are your favorite things about the ship? Talking about Iaparce x Atton here, I like the contrast of their personalities, rash and rude vs patient and attentive. I like relationships that are hard to work around at the start but once they learn more about each other they become a fierce battle couple. I also like how much they rush for each other's aid, through all the obstacles they encounter.

- Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship? Atton's shitty rant when he feels cornered takes their relationship 50 steps back. He goes into attack mode when he should be open of what he did and the Exile is completely justified to say "That is a lot for me to forgive". After that they're going to need a lond time of development and building/recovering trust to actually be together. I just don't see them being openly romantic in the timelapse of kotor 2.

1. mace windu - he’s always been one of my faves since I was little and first got into star wars but that’s only increased as I’ve gotten older tbh?? he’s very steadfast and compassionate and invented a new lightsaber form that utilizes extreme focus and control over emotions and I love him for all of it. he also has the best lineage.

2. bastila shan - she’s such a complex character and I love that she’s flawed despite being a jedi prodigy and that she has such a kind heart beneath all of her bluster

3. kanan jarrus - such an interesting character because he mostly had to grow into and accept being a jedi after carrying the trauma of order 66 and living on the move, and despite his occasional gruffness and impatience, he’s so deeply caring at heart. the arc of him slowly getting more invested in the rebellion? or the entirety of how he trains ezra? it’s all so good.

4. orgus din - literally the character who got me so invested in the JK story (despite everything wrong with the JK story) with how funny and warm he is, especially with his padawan, and he tries to do what’s best to help others and sticks up for it

5. jocasta nu - I know she’s only a minor character and her biggest role in AOTC is snarking at obi-wan about the incomplete map but the comics where she stays to protect the archives from vader and the inquisitors sold me on her

honorable mention: luke skywalker. because he’s the loving and gentle jedi who saved the galaxy from the personification of evil and would be a great mentor (sequels DNI).

Hey guys,

This is my last post. I’ve decided to leave tumblr indefinitely, but I wanted to let you, my followers, know some of the details of the fallout so that you can stay aware and stay safe. I’m posting this with the awareness and support of others who were harmed in the entire debacle, although they wish to remain unmentioned here to avoid being further targeted. Since I’m leaving, I have no such concerns. So here we go.

This isn’t a formal call-out post. I can’t ask my friends to review their pain so close to the event, and I haven’t kept anywhere near a detailed log of events to put together a formal catalog. This is a heads-up about mine and other’s painful experiences with the people in question, so that you, my followers, and others in the KotOR and SWTOR communities can engage with them in full awareness. What you choose to do with this knowledge is up to you. 

On a personal note, I once left a partner who hurt me very badly. I knew that this partner had taken another girlfriend, and I did not warn her of this partner’s past behavior. They hurt her too. It’s not a situation I want to ever repeat, as difficult as it is to revisit this subject. And this is a summary: there’s more, and you’ll likely hear the accounts of these other people during your time in the KotOR and SWTOR communities. But this is mine.

Over the past month in the KotOR tumblr Discord server, these following people engaged in the derailing and targeting of a transgender woman with rhetoric and arguments taken from trans-exclusionary radical feminism. They further targeted a bisexual woman for defending this transgender woman and for identifying this rhetoric for the harmful ideology that it was, and then denied this bisexual woman the right to discuss her experiences with gender and sexuality, and ensured she didn't feel safe doing so, by retroactively casting her discussion of her suffering in queer communities as an agenda of lesbophobia. When others spoke up in both the transgender woman and the bisexual woman’s defense, they were also targeted, to the point where others have expressed privately that they felt seriously unsafe in that environment, and that their only recourse was to leave.

The conversation evolved to the point where a cisgender lesbian told the transgender lesbian woman who was targeted, quoting, "Do you know what it's like to be shoved to the sidelines of the lgbt community!?!? Do you!!?" And, really, that needs no further elaboration from me here.

It should be mentioned that many of these people write bisexual and transgender characters, which I and others took as an expression of solidarity with our communities. It should also be mentioned that these people are in their 20s and their 30s, and that the transgender woman who was initially derailed and policed is 19 years old.

You are welcome! I have been uploading footages and compilation videos about specific moments in Cassette Beasts, including the partners' scenes, because there are not many of these kinds of videos out there for this game, and these videos are needed for archival and reference purposes.

Aside from videos, I am also contributing to the official Cassette Beasts wiki, and documenting character dialogue by data mining the game so they will be added to the wiki.

I love your Juhani cameo in kotor 2 mod! I was wondering, how did you generate the audio for Juhani?

As I mentioned on both my post for the Juhani cameo add-on and the download pages of Alternate Revan Romances REDUX, the new Juhani voice-overs were generated by xVASynth, an AI voice synthesis tool that is specifically designed for synthesizing video game character voices.

To generate a character's voice with xVASynth, you need a voice model specific to that character. xVASynth has a companion app, xVATrainer for training voice models. You need to prepare a dataset including voice samples and transcripts for training the voice model in xVATrainer. I prepared Juhani's dataset by gathering her voice-over files from KotOR 1, transcribing her lines, using a KotOR modding community tool, SithCodec to make the audio readable by most media players, and converting the audio to mono WAV format. Since my 5-year-old gaming laptop is unfortunately not powerful enough to train voice models with xVATrainer sufficiently, I asked for help to train Juhani's voice model in the xVASynth Discord server.

Once the training of Juhani's voice is completed, I imported Juhani's voice model in xVASynth to generate Juhani's new voice-over.

The download pages of xVASynth and xVATrainer have more information about the apps and instructions on how to use them.

A bit of a strange question but do you know of any mods that remove carth onasi's spiel about loving female revan in kotor 2? Cause I know damn well I was with Juhani and not him. The more I think about how canon and legend treats its queer and poc characters the angrier I get and there's nothing I can do about it.

Yes, my Alternate Revan Romances REDUX mod is exactly the mod you are looking for. The mod is precisely made for KotOR players, especially queer KotOR players who are frustrated with the game's heteronormative assumption that female Revan romances Carth and male Revan romances Bastila.

It should be noted though, even though my mod gives you the option to mention Juhani as light side female Revan's love interest, the mod does not make Juhani appear in the game, because unfortunately Juhani has literally zero content in the entire KotOR 2, even if you use The Sith Lords Restored Content Mod (which is required for my mod to work regardless). At least, Alternate Revan Romances prevents Carth from talking about Revan romantically if you do not want him to be female Revan's love interest.

UPDATE: Starting from Version 4.0, Alternate Revan Romances REDUX has added a Juhani cameo add-on that will actually make Juhani appear in KotOR 2 if she is chosen as (female) Revan's love interest with fully-voiced new dialogue.

Just a correction, the proper term is characters of color/colour, not "PoC charcters".

Re: that post you just reblogged. I used to be active in the fandom and for a while I did like thranto but the behavior of a lot of the people in it in regards to them and other characters was really off putting n pushed me away from it

Also people making stuff up or cherrypicking then acting like it’s a 100% canon fact really annoys me like. A lot of the logic people use when it comes to this in regards to shipping is amanormative as hell which is super alienating

Well said. I can sympathise and empathise with your feelings about being alienated by the fandom, because the Thranto fandom was actually the last straw that made me dislike shipping culture in general, for the reasons you described here, in addition to the shippers' condemnable treatment of Ar'alani, Faro and Vah'nya, by reducing the former two to token background lesbians and reacting to the latter with hostility for "getting in the way of their ship", as highlighted in the post I reblogged.
