This is a High School Musical: The Musical: The Series fanfiction that follows Blake Sahan alongside her childhood best friend and first love, Ricky Bowen.

Blake Sahan's faceclaim is Maitreyi Ramakrishnan!

This series loosely follows the plot of the show, each chapter being based on every episode. Of course, (without any spoilers), there's a few key differences...

Characters are aged up.

They're in their freshman year of college.

The school is Salt Lake Community College.

If the college seems like a high school sometimes

it's for plot convenience ok just roll with it

Gina does not have feelings for Ricky.

Nini is lowkey kind of in her antagonist era in this.

I don't make posts, BUT the Ashlyn slander annoyed me very much... I will start by saying: WHAT IS WRONG WITH SOME PPL IN THIS FANDOM????

We forget so easily that Ashlyn was the reason Gina stayed (TWICE) (and also was the one who tried to be there for her when she felt miserable in the first half of s2) and we really jump on hating on her just for that Gina 1.0 remark??? This fandom is really sth...

I agree that Ash overreacted and was wrong when Gina said she wanted to do a solo audition... BUT Ash was right when Gina gave that advice to the younger girls and you can see, from the auditions, that it backfired on one of them... Both of them were wrong and right... See how easy it was to say that both of them were wrong without insulting either of them?

I won't accept any character slander in this show bc I love them all. But I'll admit when these characters do sth that I think is wrong...

Ps. Look how cute is their friendship. Did we really forget that so easily? We are so quick to find excuses for or favorites and talk bad about others... Next time when you want to say sth bad about a character, think it as your favorite did that and then see if you can still say sth bad...

Ok so I am barely on Tumblr but I was reading through the hsmtmts tag and it just seemed so negative! I mean maybe it’s an unpopular opinion but I really liked this season! I mean I don’t ship characters on this show so maybe that’s why i’m not so passionate about either portwell or rina but honestly I think this season was a lot of fun! Sure I missed Seb and Big Red but the new characters were really good! The girls bonding was just so sweet! I love female friendships like this! Ricky’s birthday bucket list was such a fun plot line and Nini getting him the ticket was such a sweet closure to their story! Maddox and Jet finally getting to the point where they can laugh at each other “admitting” their crushes was such a great growth for their relationship! Big Red coming out was so out of pocket but so on brand that I literally squealed! Ej and Val’s friendship was perfect! The real housewives episode was the best tv episode i’ve seen in awhile! Everyones Frozen costumes were beautiful! Ej and Ricky’s enemies to friends to brothers arc was so great and I can’t wait to see where that leads! And sure they could have definitely handled the whole Ej situation better and hopefully they will handle it! Sure it was a little rushed but it was also such a fun season, the music was incredible as always, the jokes were hilarious, and I think so we’re most of the serious moments! Idk maybe i’m reading into it to much but I actually really liked this season and can’t wait for season four!

episode 2 thoughts:

- jet WOW !! his voice ?? it would be a waste if he didn’t stick around for future seasons

- i can’t wait for ricky to take jet under his wing and be a big brother to him, it’s so cute

- you can see a lot of anxiety building up in ej and i hope he overcomes that and talks to someone

- gina was born to be a star and i’m happy she is starting to see value in herself again because i think they watered down part of her character last season just to ensure she is a “good” person which we already knew she is but whatever

- that being said, ashlyn is officially a character i dislike. she was always neutral to me, kind of corny in that caswell way but the way she is ready to put gina down and guilty her just for wanting to audition alone? extremely annoying. what’s 1.0 about gina wanting to stand on her own? just trying to make her feel bad for no reason

- maddox has become one of my favourite characters of the season and it’s only episode 2

- ricky is an absolute dork and i love him. i also love that he is still trying to see the good in people despite what happened with lily and is ready to extend a hand to jet. also bi ricky confirmed.

- i skipped all of nini’s scenes including the song so i don’t know what the hell she is up to

- rina’s first interaction since 206 and they were so cute. i can’t wait for all the episodes to come and for them to fall back in sync

Ricky hasn’t even read the whole show?? What the heck?? Like, I’ve been trying to give him somewhat of a pass because even though he doesn’t have as much responsibility as EJ, he has some responsibility as the lead, but the fact that he hasn’t even read the show…like I get they only have two weeks to perform it but the least you could do is take the time to read the whole script. This just goes to show how little everyone is doing in comparison to EJ and once again this is not fair at all. Especially since EJ and Ricky are the same age now you can’t even say EJ “deserves” it because he’s older (which is also such a fricked up thing to say in the first place)

Having Emmy (I think that’s her name) sing the beginning of this is real…I have no investment in this child she’s barely been in this season lol. Okay I think it somewhat makes sense but still

Ahh everyone looks so good in their costumes

Oh this is the first time we’ve seen Jet in his costume. I wonder if we’ll get to hear him sing Hans of the Southern Isles. I hope so but like I also hope we get to hear Monster and Dangerous to Dream and so many other songs from the musical, at least clips of them. That’s the thing about having original songs and camp rock songs and high school musical songs in one season; we barely get any from each which is sad. But we’re getting Kristoff’s Lullaby!! I’m excited

Is Big Red about to reveal he’s gay

I LOVE that Kourtney is getting this screen time and actual care given to her story and this anxiety plotline is being handled SO WELL I love this. Kourtney <333333
