Ah… I just wanted to say that I resonate with so many of your sabo takes… My eyes are all watery because I feel like you really understand Sabo’s character in a way that I feel like most other people dont take the time to properly investigate and appreciate. I feel like I’m always a little bit angry with how split the fandom is on Sabo, how trapped people are in Ace’s visage that they can’t even acknowledge how amazingly stunning Sabo is! I just want to say, thank you so so much for all your posts over the years rambling on and on about this one character, I’m so pleased to find such an eloquently well spoken sabo appreciator- reading through many of your Sabo discussions both gave me needed validations towards my feelings and emotions about him as well as deeper insights that I never would have uncovered on my own ; - ;

ahhhh man, thank you so much!!!! i've drawn art, written fics and made gifs for this fandom many times over the past ten years (...holy shit, has it really been ten years?) but when i think about it, the meta posts i've written about sabo are still some of my favorite things i've created for OP.

i've been here in the trenches since sabo was first re-introduced to the series in 2013, and it pains me to this day when i see people try to water him down to just a pretty boy or fanservice or ace 2.0, all while devaluing what an interesting and unique character he is in his own right with a very important role in the story completely separate to his brothers.

i know i haven't been that active on here recently (i now live alone in a big ole city and have a full time job and a girlfriend :3 so real life has gotten in the way) but rest assured i have felt so vindicated and validated by everything we've seen from sabo in recent chapters.

he's a revolutionary. he's a freedom fighter. he's willing to be branded a murderer if it helps his cause. he faced off against the highest power in the entire one piece world and he survived.

he's so, so interesting and powerful and intelligent and i'm so happy to have a character like him in a manga like one piece, where the corruption goes to the very top--someone whose goal, unlike almost every other character in the series, is to intentionally and systemically burn the whole corrupt government to the ground.

the world government and the gorosei and the celestial dragons are the true villains of one piece, and sabo has been defying them from the very beginning. he's not a D. he's not predestined to anything. he's going to change the world not because it's his birthright, but because it's the right thing to do to protect innocent civilians and give them their freedom.

Im going to hopefully give you more insights into me. So i wanted this to be a personal post. I've tried to keep this pretty tame but I do mention my eating disorder. I just want you to know that once you start focusing on yourself things will get better. Follow your heart if you read nothing else. Here's a tiny piece of my story below.

Dont let people project things they dislike about themselves on you. This seems to happen to me a lot. All my life I've literally been told that i couldnt do anything at all that I wanted to do. I let others put limitations on me because they themselves never felt they could do anything they wanted. Is that ok to you?

I wanted to do ballet, told I was too fat. I developed an eating disorder. I wore baggy clothes in middle school because I even had teachers tell me my chest was too big to wear fitted clothing. Honestly, I wasnt fat but I went through puberty early. I was just curvy. I am fat now because of how I've dealt with my depression via food. I struggled with anorexia in my teens then binge eating in my 20s. My highest weight was 218. I havent gotten bigger than 187 in recent years. My goodness if I didnt want to be tall and slender. I envied people who were model thin and had small chests. My fitness journey has become so important to me because I just want to look the way I want to look. I want to be 127 and im ok with the fact I wont have a small chest or slender figure. Its ok that I dont have a slender ballerina body. I spent too much time hating my hourglass shape. It was never anything to hate its just how im built. All bodies are beautiful. I realized I can still take adult ballet lessons. I want lessons so that my lines look good when I start Lyra Hoop. This is what I decided to do to fix this childhood wound. Im going to be ok.

I wanted to do acting was told its not a real job or goal to aspire. It was something I had natural ability, to become a different person. I got lead roles in school plays I was even told by official judges in competition I was a natural. Honestly, I realized I played a role all my life. I've played someone that wasn't me. Probably why I latched on so hard to acting in plays. It was easy for me because being anyone but myself was more bearable. Im not playing anymore roles to escape being me. Im stepping firmly into myself in my 30s. I can only be me. Im ok with this too.

I wanted to finally move to a different state was told stay here because it was no way I could make it without "support". The truth is no one ever supported me here (except my husband, he's always loved me even though I always see myself as too broken). Something just always felt wrong with me. I became more isolated the more profound my depression became. The lower my self esteem became the more I distance myself from connection. No one ever got to know me anyway. How could they when I never knew myself? All thats changing because Im firm in knowing who i want to be. Im not there yet, but (but, but, but) I see so clearly what I want for myself. I definitely know through all this struggle who I am not. Totally ok with this.

I was never a lead character in my own life. I was 28 when I realized I chipped away at parts of myself to please others (or my perceptions of what others wanted from me). Screw that, I'll do everything that my heart desires. Im turning 33 this year and I want to live my life for me. Doing what everyone always wanted never worked out for me. I gotta do what feels ok to me. This is all ok.

If this resonates, you can do anything you want to do. Never let people chip away parts of you. You're good enough. Im sorta a late bloomer but I feel great about my 30s. Life is for living so I must be active in my pursuit from now on. As long as you're living its never too late to do what you want to do. "Dont let your dreams be dreams."

You need to be a climber. A consistent builder. A sweat. An obsessed rat that gives their all. Eventually you will have the moment where you see yourself grow. You will destroy the paradigm that keeps you from working towards your goals everyday. You are a phenomenon. Change your state yourself.

Do not give in to the perverse weakness that is constantly grooming you all the way into your death bed. It only wants to save energy and will kill you and everything you hold dear to accomplish it. It doesn’t care about how you feel, it wants you to die and suffer the worst fate so that you can save energy. Its a part of the human mind that has not evolved, but you have. You realize by spending energy you are actually saving energy by destroying the futures where you regret your actions. Nothing destroys your energy like the vibration of regret, no! Trust yourself! You do what’s going to be beneficial for you a week from now, a month from now, a year from now, a decade from now! Go on the aggressive! 

You have the dormant ability to be of the highest caliber. But you have to adapt. You can not hold onto your old ways and habits. Get used to killing off your old responses to pressure. Those ways are those of self sabotage and abstract self harm. You need the update! You need to stay learning! Do not be fooled into thinking you can be content with some fluke ass victories. You have to be insurmountable. 

Do not doubt that there is a part of you that knows what must be done. You have to lower your withdrawal and raise your resolve. Even if it chaotically wedges its way into your schedule. You are the only thing that must live. Everything else is free game. Your loved ones will flourish on your back because you will carry them across the finish line. But even them. Even they can not be prioritized over your growth so include them into your growth. Make your life into a constant process of honing skills and you will never regret again. You will be grateful you underwent this metamorphosis.

Can I send a request for a fic with venti and a gender neutral mc? It's not really meant to be romantic or anything along those lines. I've just been constantly thinking about how the mc was stripped of everything, including their wings when they lost their fight against the unknown god, and how the gliders might have brought them a bit of comfort when trying to get accustomed to Mondstadt.

Something more heartfelt, maybe the mc just talking to venti after a late night out, or just waking up in the middle of the night to take a stroll in peace away from paimon, amber and the rest of the Chaotic knights of favonious.

In The Days To Come (How Much Will I Miss You?);

It was a series of perfect events, little coincidences, Paimon got distracted a while back by the smell of food, fluttering off with 'Delicious. Tasty food! Paimon will be back' before vanishing from your side. The knight of Favonius had no urgent problems to ask for your aid with now that the Dvalin has been saved and Mondstadt and its people can rest easy. You finally had time to yourself, time to feel and think of your new reality. 

It was the gentlest tug, pull of melancholy it crept up slowly, slowly, slowly all day nipping at your heels until you felt it from your toes to your head. Numbness, so empty at first then came sadness buried deep, ignored for days for the sake of saving others, making sure others were happy, living in their home, with their family-- while you were still missing yours. It felt unfair. Resentment and anger reared their ugly heads, howling like starving, ravenous beats. 

What an overwhelming torrent of emotion, waves after wave, lapping at your chin, your mouth, your nose. Sinking. Sinking. Sinking. No. Drowning. 

Until there was nothing but a muffled, muted haze of the world around you. 

If you nodded and 'hm', 'yes', 'sure', 'okay' your way through passing conversations no one noticed. Oh, how kind, brave and stoic the traveler was! Our hero! Maybe you didn't want to be a hero. You just wanted your sibling back. 

Gliding from the highest building in Mondstadt in the dead of night, you could close your eyes, imagine it, see it, your wings, the wind through your hair, the laughter of your best friend, your constant companion, your sibling-- 'I am absolutely certain, I can beat you!', 'Ha! How hilarious. You just try to keep up!' 

Then your feet hit the cobblestone of Mondstadt, your eyes snap open and that dream, that wish, all of it shatters into the most fragile fragments, fading away, slipping out of your mind, no matter how hard you try to grasp onto it, hold it close. Gone. 

You just want to cry. 

Figures it would be Venti who just so happens to find you. In the late hours of the night, every minute passes towards that too late but also too early threshold of time. 

He is whistling, then humming a gentle, soft song. Lyrics and melody unknown to you, deft, nimble fingers strum quiet, easy notes from his lyre. 

Quiet footsteps approaching your seating form, nearly hunched over a ledge outlooking most of Mondstadt from this peak near the cathedral and the statue of your friend, it was still a little odd to think of Venti, the whimsical, chaotic bard as a god but easier to wrap your mind around given the fact you had traveled to many different realms and worlds in the past. 

"How lucky I am to find a lone traveler, perhaps I could provide you with some company?" Venti interrupts his little performance to sit down beside you, cradling his lyre in his hands, you don't really have the energy to even answer or protest his presence even if you wanted. 

"Did you catch a bit of my new tune? I must work on something that will blow away even Master Diluc! Perhaps enough for a night of free drinks in the tavern in exchange for the request of my music!" Venti exclaims rather determinedly as always, especially when it came to getting the best wine possible, for free as well. The lengths he'd be willing to go is almost admirable in a way. 

Your answering silence, no laugh, huff or even a scoff at his expense nor a head shake, roll eyes. Nothing. 

"Ah poor traveler, your gloom could bring down even the brightest flowers bloom, what has doubled your trouble?" Even his joking yet sincere rhyming can't bring much of a reaction to your face and that eats away at Venti. Never one to want his friends to suffer, not if he is there to help in whatever way he can. 

Venti loses his playful, mischievous nature for the moment in favor of being serious. It's then he is more Anemo Archon then Venti the bard. 

"What is wrong, friend?" 

One tear is followed by many others, everything rushes to the surface, you shake, tremble, break under the weight of your own sorrow. Sobbing out to the blinking stars far, far away. 

"What if my sibling is gone forever? What if I never find any clues, signs? What if I spend the rest of my life trapped here, searching and searching?" You sound half hysterical with grief and worry, rambling out every doubt, insecurity you have kept so tightly hidden away. Because everyone else had their own problems and all the problems they wanted you to solve. 

"Years side by side, through every trouble, every battle, every adventure, journey, they were always with me. Now? I am alone. My power, my wings, my sibling taken from me." You sniff and cough, squeezing your eyes shut as the world around your blurs and become a mess of colors. 

"I am tired. I am scared. Why do I always have to be brave? Strong? My whole life has been turned upside down and I have barely had time to adjust! To take all of this in, it feels like every person I meet needs my help for something unrelated to finding my only family!" You can't help the way your words turn exhausted and bitter. 

Venti waits and listens to your venting without interruption. It's only once he is sure you have let it all out that he speaks. 

"There is no shame in your sorrow, your pain. You have been thrown into a situation unfamiliar and unless anything you have experienced before and you are being forced to endure this without your closest friend, your sibling." Venti's tone is slow, decisive as if he is giving every single word meticulous thought. 

"You are incorrect to assume that means you are alone. You have new friends here, people who care about you, your journey and your goal. Paimon, Me, Jean, Lisa, Diluc, Kaeya, Amber, we all care for you. And you will have our support whenever you need it. Without question." The finality and firmness of his statement leaves no room for argument. 

You realize and recognize the truth in his words and Venti stays by your side, in the quiet night as you cry and cry, relieving the tangled knot of everything you had let grow, fester and linger for so long, even before you found Paimon. 

Venti plays a soothing harmony, a mellow, delicate dance of the strings of his lyre and his soft voice, singing; something just for you, for the moment of trust and sharing between two friends. It is a lovely, comforting song as your tears begin to dry and the burden on you is lessened for now. 

It's easy to smile and hum along with Venti as if you've heard this a dozen times.

You have no idea what is awaiting you on the journey, what struggles you will face, what obstacles and hardships that will cause you to stumble and fall but you do have friends who will be there to pick you back up again and again.

"Paimon just enjoyed a juicy, sweet, savory meal! (Name) you should have join- wait a minute!" Paimon takes one look at you and her cheeks puff out in anger, it's too cute to be truly scary but the glares she shoots at Venti is fiercely defensive. 

"What did you do tone-deaf bard?!" 

You laugh, reaching out to take hold of Paimon, you hug her gentle. Paimon squeaks out in surprise but you feel her tiny arms gently squeeze your neck. 

"I have done nothing wrong, this time." Venti had paused his private little song, ensuring it was something meant to be shared between you two just like this night would be a shared memory to look back on. 

Paimon wiggles away from you, floating before you, you watch her stick her tongue out at Venti, blowing and making a hilarious show of her disbelief. "Paimon doesn't believe you! Apologize to them now!" 

In the ensuing 'fight' between Venti and Paimon, you watch Venti reach forward and pinch her cheek and the small girl lunged at him in a failed attempt to choke him, you are sure, Venti holds her back with a hand over her face. 

You laugh. 

Yeah, you had friends and you weren't alone.

Solas wants to take down the veil to bring back his people but bc of the veil his people started to get old and die and it has been more than 1000 years since be did that. So, arent his people dead? And the ones alive now are their descendats? I mean the evanuris are his people but he hates them. I know some are still alive, like abelas but the others are dead. I dont understand, what people can he bring back?

Hello, welcome to the fandom! Good question. Let’s see! There are several aspects to this. I don’t know if you’ve read Tevinter Nights, so I put this answer under a cut as some of it pertains to that.

First, there’s a bit of a distinction. Rather than “to bring back his people”, like just bringing back specific people or groups of people, the overarching goal is to save his people, his race. Save the elven people as an entity. This is more of a concept, like an idea? An idea that could take several forms, or entail several things, depending on who’s perspective we’re looking at, as is the case for many things (example: my Inquisitor’s conception of what “saving the People” means is radically different to his). “Saving humanity” in Battlestar Galactica involved only a small fraction of the human race escaping the fall of the Twelve Colonies on a fleet in space. In The 100, saving humanity in the in-universe history was a fraction of humanity escaping to live on an orbital space station after nuclear apocalypse. It’s not pleasant, but only a fraction of the whole, a (relative) few ‘seeds’, is truly required. (And not to get weird, but given the way elf genetics work when they reproduce with other races in modern Thedas, who’s to say how the genetics or genetic-analogues of ancient elves work? Is inbreeding weakness even a thing that can even happen to them? who knows. I just mean that their biology apparently works radically differently to ours in some ways)

It’s also that he intends to restore the world of his time, the world the elves of old lived in and the parameters of it. This is about two things: 1) reshaping reality and restoring it to the way it used to be metaphysically-speaking in pre-Veil times. Making it the way it used to be - a world where imagination defined reality, where spirits enter freely, when the Fade wasn’t a place one went but a state of nature like the wind, the countless marvels of architecture and similar things which were intrinsically tied to and whose existence depended on the Fade, the whole empire that used to be  - once again. And 2) changing and restoring the higher state of being the elves once had, their prior form of existence. This means restoring to them things like their immortality, their inherent magic, their inherent connection to the Fade (in most elves this is now blocked, except in the case of mages) - everything “themselves” once meant. It’s about changing the laws of physics and [re]upgrading a downgrade in part of their.. intrinsic or original personhood? (not sure how else to phrase this). He wants to bring back what was once theirs, and restore the things about them that were “their glory”. And who knows, when he’s brought things back to a state when his or anyone’s imagination can change reality, who knows what can be done in such a world…? Can he then will all those who died when Elvhenan fell back to life? Can he will that the Fall never even happened? Can he will what essentially amounts to pressing a giant reset button on the world? There is even examples of time magic in the setting (even we as Inquisitor encounter time-altering magic in DAI in the Redcliffe arc, Ameridan was preserved for a while, etc).

But who will inherit this new world in the case of no literal resetting or rezzing? Yes, many of the ancients have died. But also well, as you say, some are still alive. Abelas and the Temple of Mythal Sentinels are an obvious example. It stands to reason there are other Sentinels and other ancient elves in similar positions to them in other ancient elven temples and similar sites dotted around the place. Felassan is another example. He’s clearly an ancient elf and he must have come from somewhere! He can’t have been the only ancient agent of Fen’Harel. In fact he definitely isn’t. In TN one of the agents speaks in a sort-of Dalish accent, only more formal, like he’s reading poetry - given what we know of how the ancient elven language is, with rhythms and meanings, it stands to reason this dude is also an ancient, just one Solas removed the markings of, which we know from Trespasser that he did for his followers who wished it during his first rebellion. Solas also refers to other awake or periodically awake ancients in his conversation with Abelas - “there are other duties”. You can’t do duties while asleep. Yet other enclaves of ancients are further hinted at elsewhere. For example, the elves in the Tirashan sure sound hella mysterious and different and might be ancients (I’d prefer they weren’t and prefer the idea that they’re descendants who have evolved in complete isolation from the Dalish-Dalish all this time and basically therefore have their own traits and own culture, but that’s another subject - like compare the Chasind with the Agadi). Sometimes I wonder if the elves who sent the Inquisitor the red hart mount were ancient. For another, it seems very likely to me that there are still surviving ancient elves in uthenera. The highest dreamers who “perfected” themselves were able to sleep indefinitely without needing any sort of sustenance or caretaking done to their bodies. In the Deep Roads in Trespasser we find a whole roomfull of coffins. Ok, those coffins were most likely actually coffin-shaped caskets full of mined lyrium going by companion comments at the time, but it definitely put me in the mind of a secret ‘ark’ type place somewhere with a bunch of hidden sleeping ancients. You know like in Mass Effect 3 where Javik came from? Just without all the power gradually shutting down. Some of the highest might have gone to sleep in places which were hidden or known to only few, or otherwise managed to escape by sheer luck the murders of their sleeping bodies by resentful lower class servants that took place in the latter days of Elvhenan. Others - specifically thinking followers of Fen’Harel’s first rebellion - might have gone to sleep in like a warded and protected place in preparation for what was to come. Like maybe he gave them advance warning of his Veil-creating plans and ushered them into what effectively was meant to function as a time capsule before he cast his magic. Like get on the ark everybody, the earth is going to flood. Cole also alludes to beings sleeping “masked in a mirror, and to wake them -” when he reads Solas’ mind. that could either refer to sleeping jailed Evanuris/Titans etc or a cache of sleeping ancients. The point is that there are more ancient elves left than we think, both awake/periodically awake and sleeping still, both in other places in main-world Thedas akin to the ToM, and in places in the Crossroads network. I fully am convinced of that. “Your people yet linger.” They’re out there, lingering somehow.

The modern elves are indeed descendants of the ancients. Sometimes he refers to them as his people and sometimes he doesn’t. The modern elves are an additional, potential factor. There’s debate about this - from what he says in Trespasser it’s not 100% clear, even the way he phrases his words about this subject to Charter in TN is really weird imo and so therefore also still not 100% clear - but some people do believe that the modern elves are included when he says “save the People/my people”, and that modern elves would survive the change, be changed/restored like the ancients, and get to live in the new world. So that’s a possible thing/element too.

There’s a further thing going on: he genuinely seems to believe that what he’s doing will straight up save the entire world as we know it. Not everyone in it, but the very world itself. There’s debate about this and it’s not clear, but some people think that it seems like he has knowledge of some looming massive cataclysm, and that this notion of a looming cataclysm is seeded in various places in the lore - that some terrible disaster is going to befall Thedas soon, or that some terrible thing is currently gradually happening to Thedas as we speak, like something to do with the very fabrics of the world unraveling or similar.

College Advice

My brother was like, hey if you have any tips… So i wrote this! And then thought, there’s lots of people on tumblr just now going to college too…

Theres nothing in here about covid or making sure you have enough money– because i dont know anything about being a student during covid and i wouldnt give the same advice for getting money to everyone (and i wouldnt always know how anyway). I assume in the advice that the reader has enough money, because my brother does. That makes a big difference! Someone struggling for money wont have the bandwidth or time, probably, to do a lot of the stuff i advise. Edit: ugh i forgot, this is about US schools, specifically liberal arts US schools. Sorry about that!

Also, I didnt feel right taking the affection out of it once i decided to share it publicly. Help yourself! I may not have as direct an interest in your life, but there’s nothing in there i wouldnt wish for anyone going to college right now. (there’s also quite a bit that I think applies to anyone regardless of whether they do college or not).

College Advice:

Work: No matter how important your work is or how much you have, take at least one day off a week. No schoolwork or working for money or any kind of work at all that day! (if it works better for you to take a half-day here and there instead of the whole day, that will do). More than one day is preferable, but there may come times when you have So Much To DO that sacrificing your free time doesn’t seem so bad and even one day off feels like too much.

I’m sure you’ve had plenty of this already, but people will keep telling you (by things they say and don’t say) that what you accomplish is the most important thing. It is not. What is most important is up to you– but I think it’s being your own authentic self. That’s complicated of course, but it boils down to: you already have everything you need in yourself, and keeping in touch with what you really truly want and love comes before everything. 

If you flunk out of school and all your nightmares come true and you still remember who you are, I will consider you to have succeeded. (but if you do forget– and so many things conspire to make you forget!– I will still be proud of you). 

GPA: It’s not the same as it was in high school! I won’t get into specific numbers because different schools have different ways of calculating it, and different rates of gpa inflation etc. It’s mostly bullshit. Unfortunately, if you want to go to graduate school, it is bullshit you have to pay attention to, but even then it’s not as all-important as it was in high school. You don’t need a 4.0, not even to become a doctor or a lawyer. A 3.5 or 3.6 is plenty for the highest ambitions, especially given that you’ll be doing extracurriculars. 

I would advise keeping half an eye on the numbers, and not straining yourself for even one additional 0.1 above your target, whatever you decide that is. If you decide not to do graduate school, you honestly could get any GPA as long as you don’t end up on academic probation (which i think goes on your permanent record? Or maybe not. I was on academic probation my last semester of senior year and i’m still not clear on whether it’s on the transcript somehow). After college, people only care that you have your bachelor’s, not what your grades were while you got it. They mostly won’t even care what the bachelor’s is in! It’s very strange, after all the work you’ve put in! (many of them only care that you had the money to go to school, very disappointing)

Extracurriculars: I did a lot of different ones, and still don’t feel entirely qualified to advise about them, because I hated most of them. My mistake was doing things I thought I should do instead of what I wanted to do. I think you should do what you want, even if there’s no existing group for the thing you want to do, for a few reasons. 1. You should enjoy yourself! Having fun is a very serious matter! Keeping the joy of living alive in your heart will make living feel worthwhile, of course, but it will also give you courage and the power to stick by your principles and keep pursuing your goals. 2. It doesn’t actually matter to graduate schools WHAT you did for extracurriculars; what they’re looking for is evidence for what kind of person you are, and they judge that that’s shown through HOW you do your extracurriculars (with commitment and integrity etc) rather than which ones you do. (even so, don’t let the “commitment” part keep you stuck in a soul-sucking activity!)

Choices: You’ll be told you’re supposed to choose your major on a certain timeline, do this and that and everything to very specific deadlines, all very proper. Of course, the more deadlines you meet, the easier things are. But on the other hand– human beings are not machines. You’re allowed to change your mind! Even after you were supposed to be sure! It’s much better to listen to your own misgivings and really look at them to figure out what you want as soon as you know they’re there rather than pushing them down in a panic because you’re not supposed to have them. If they’re ignored, they won’t go away, and they’ll eat at you, and one day they’ll ruin things. (this may be what midlife crises are made of). 

Friends: I know you have an established way of having friends, very different from mine, and that’s a good thing! I also know a lot of people take going to college as an opportunity to finally allow themselves certain things. There’s all kinds of takes on this, from putting on a poorly-done accent to binge drinking to coming out. It’s much better to stretch your legs this way than otherwise, I think. We need all the autonomy we can get! 

My advice here is: trust yourself. Listen to even your very quiet instincts. They’re there for a reason. You may elect to ignore them, but consider them first, and reject them afterwards if you must. The extreme end of this is Having A Bad Feeling. Listening to that has saved me from some sticky situations! A more mild form is the weird feeling of dissonance between you and an old friend. There are many reasons you may feel that, but unfortunately, in college, one of the most common reasons is that you’re becoming different people who aren’t so suited to being friends as your high school selves were. It’s painful! At the same time, it’s okay to love someone and not be together forever– but I suspect you already know that!

The one thing I would absolutely forbid is isolating yourself. It may seem impossible from where you are now, but that’s what I thought at the beginning too. College is a weird place, not exactly school and not exactly work and not exactly home, and it’s too easy to slip into anonymity. Tell your friends how you feel, good or bad! If you feel like you’re imposing on them, impose!! If they love you, they will prefer inconvenience over learning later that you were in pain and said nothing.

How to Learn: It’s true what they say, that teaching is the best way to learn. Your peers may not always welcome this– I was rather disliked in study groups for always explaining the answer, before I reined it in a bit (things were still awkward unfortunately! possibly for other reasons lol). Of course, other people’s jealousy isn’t your responsibility, and you may sow discord with your brilliance with my full blessing. If you’d rather not do that, my advice would be to become a tutor and/or TA in the subject(s) most important to you at your earliest convenience/whenever they allow you to. It really does make you an expert!

Humanities: They’re going to make you read a lot. Excessively, some might say! You’ll learn which readings are actually necessary to pore over, which ones you may skim, and which ones you may skip altogether. Please don’t feel guilty for not always doing all the reading! Almost no one does all of them. I didn’t even do all of them, and I was a stickler for Doing It Right.

Papers: my tricks are the Purdue OWL website (for brushing up on grammar, looking up how to do those goddamn finicky citation styles, seeing examples of finished papers in those styles), outlining, and rest time. Leaving time between drafts of a paper helps a lot! (that being said, I will be very surprised if you make it all the way through college without turning in at least a few first drafts. It’s not the end of the world, and if you’ve got a knack for it, the professors may not even know the difference! Very amusing). Reading through what you’ve written out loud also helps, however silly it may feel. It has to do with how your brain processes information, and hearing what you’ve written is different enough from seeing it that you’ll be more sensitive to errors and weirdnesses. 

STEM subjects: For these ones, it’s more important to do all the homework, because they may only give you one problem per concept. Be very literal about how you interpret things, that’s how folks in STEM usually expect you to think. Office hours are gold, if you can get them (and if the professor isn’t an ass). TAs are hit or miss. Readings are usually super important, relatively short, and can be read multiple times for more benefit.

General knowledge: Don’t forget to think critically! You’d think that’s all you’ll be doing, but in fact most professors only want you to regurgitate their own thoughts back to them. Very disappointing. However, that doesn’t have to stop you! You can always think: “Who benefits from this? What voices aren’t I hearing from in this story?” (even in STEM there are stories). “Why is this important?” In general, don’t stop asking questions! This is where I think true intelligence lies.

I’m sure you don’t need ALL of this advice– please don’t think I don’t think you know what you’re doing! I’m being a little over-cautious not because I don’t trust you but because if there’s any chance of my mistakes and accidental successes helping you do better than otherwise, I want to give all of them that opportunity. Kind of a shotgun approach!

At some point in the last five months, you’d stopped recognizing yourself. The woman in the mirror wasn’t Y/N. Her hair was different, down to even the eyebrows. Her accent distinctly that of a life long Londoner. She worked for an independent UK couture fashion magazine, chose wine over whiskey, and was distinctly heterosexual.

When the chance to work this job requiring deep cover came up in December you jumped on it. You didn’t want to be you anymore. The you that couldn’t be with the woman you loved. The you that was heartbroken. The you who was beginning to doubt that you’d ever be happy. Fuck her.

Being Charlie Daniels was far better. She was, of course, a real person. Just one who was now living comfortably in the Bahamas courtesy of MI6. Even legit agencies had use of freelance talent every now and then.

Settling into her life had been easy. Not setting her boss on fire or blowing his brains out daily was a different task altogether. Turned out that a magazine was a great front for a crime empire. Lots of international travel, young and beautiful and desperate men and women, money exchanged in countless untraceable ways, on and on. And this fucker was happy to take advantage of every single disgusting avenue it opened up.

You almost had everything you needed to hand to MI6, get your obscenely large payout, and get on to another gig while they threw all of these bastards into cells to rot for the rest of their miserable lives. Just one more trip. After whatever horrible things they lay out in Tokyo you’ll be set.

Tokyo is one of those cities you can lose yourself in. Like New York but better for its interesting balance of vibrancy and grounded reserve. You absolutely love it.

The whole point of the trip, at least on the surface, was to focus on Fashion Week Tokyo. Honestly, there was a part of you that wished this was your world. Nothing but runway shows and after parties. Writing about the latest trends rather than delving into the inner workings of the worlds miscreants

Oh well. It was nice enough to pretend. You had to admit that you’d miss Charlie Daniels once you shed this skin in a couple of weeks.

You’re sitting two people down from your boss at an underground show. The level of security here screams that there are other things going on behind the scenes but it’s still a room filled with a who’s who of the Japanese and international fashion communities.

This was your third show of the day, and you knew there would be a party after where you’d have to schmooze all while plucking information from your unsuspecting fellow guests. You’re exhausted. So rather than pay much attention to the show you let your mind wander.

When she walks out you feel her rather than see her.  Slowly you turn your head to stare dumbstruck at the model walking onto the catwalk. Your heart begins beating against your ribs, your mouth goes dry, your hands shake.

It takes every ounce of control you have to keep your emotions in. To not scream “Natasha!” at the top of your lungs. To not grab her and run for the hills. Charlie Daniels and her easy life be damned. It’s hard but you manage.

As she turns and comes back down, passing now closer to you, her eyes don’t graze  the crowd at all. Head up, shoulders back, she walks the runway like she’d been doing it for years.

The rest of the show is maybe ten minutes but it feels like years. You know the models are all attending the party. Eye candy for the high end guests.

It’s fairly easy to ditch your coworkers in the crowd as you try to find the best vantage point in the room without being too obvious. After a solid twenty minutes, you find yourself planning an escape route. Most of the models are milling about but she’s no where to be seen. You will find her.

But you know you can’t skip out just yet. At the bar, you order a red wine and make yourself seen. Charlie would never miss the whole party after all. You spend a bit chatting with designers and a few models, feigning interest in the whole thing until you hear your boss call out to you.

“Oy, Charlie!” Carl’s voice alone makes you want to put him down. When you turn he’s waving you over to the bar. Sighing heavily you head over.

You’re about ten feet away when you see her, head back laughing at something Carl or his friend had said. Both men are far to close to her for your liking and the hungry look on Carl’s face sets your blood boiling.

He slings an arm around your shoulders and you carefully coach your face to not show disgust. “Charlie here is my best writer. Doin’ some pieces for us on this whole thing,” he waves his other hand around wildly.

“Good to meet ya, Charlie, I’m Dan,” the other man, clearly American says.

“Likewise,” Natasha doesn’t react to the accent at all.

“This here is-”

“Natalie,” Natasha cuts him off, extending a hand to you. Holding her eyes with yours you take it. It’s like touching a live wire.

“Natalie is an American model working here in Japan. May be a good topic for a piece.” He ribs you leaning closer, “And a good piece for the office eh?” Suddenly that MI6 money seems far less appealing.

“I’d love that,” Natasha beams. “Why don’t you guys go mingle and Charlie and I can chat!” The men exchange a glance, but there’s plenty of fresh meat around to sink their teeth into.

Carl flashes you a greasy smile and a wink as he walks away. Thinking clearly that you’re going to snare this woman for him. You, unfortunately, had a few others. Not something you were proud of. Demands of the job you told yourself.

“She’ll take a vodka neat,” you tell the bartender.

“Yes,” Natasha smiles at him, “Whiskey for her. Makers if you have it.” He thinks nothing of it and makes your drinks.

You laugh, “That bad? What’s the goal.”

“Getting a cover,” you commend the clever word play.

“End of the week.” Your skin itches to touch her. The men are rounding back. You hold her gaze and shift your eyes back to them. She catches on.

“Perfect! It’s so hard to have a good interview here, don’t you think?”

“Absolutely. Why don’t you come by my hotel?” You whip out your spare key card. “I’d love to get your story for the mag, maybe do a full feature.”

“A feature would be excellent exposure!”

“Wouldn’t it?” Carl slides up next to her. “We can get you all the exposure you could want Ms. Natalie.”

“Charlie was telling me all about it.” She flashes him a coy smile. “Thank you so much Charlie! I forgot I have a late fitting tonight for another show so I’ve got to run. But we’ll chat soon yeah?”

“Absolutely! It was so good to meet you Natalie.”

“Same! Bye!” She hurries through the crowded room and disappears.

“Busy girl.” Carl quips. “Whiskey?” You look down at the glass by your hand.

“Some guy sent them over,” you gesture to Natasha’s lipstick stained glass. “Seemed rude to refuse. Can’t stand the stuff though.”

“That’s a mans drink,” Carl laughs at his own perceived joke and you force a smile.

Somehow you make it through the rest of the evening. You’d refused to allow yourself to hope that she’d be here, too obvious to come the same night, better to wait. Kicking off your shoes you head straight to the mini bar and crack open a whiskey, downing it in one gulp.

“You really need to be more careful,” Natasha’s voice comes from the bathroom. “I mean not even checking around. Sloppy.”

“Charlie Daniels doesn’t have to check for Russian assassins in her bathroom,” a smile pulls your face so tight it hurts.

“Well, Natalie Rushman isn’t a Russian spy. So…”

You let your real accent resurface as you pull her into your arms, “Natalie Rushman, I don’t know if that’s clever or lazy.” She kisses you hard, tongue sliding over your lips hands gripping your ass.

You lean down to her but she stops you by planting a strappy heel in the center of your chest. Trailing your fingers down her leg you snag a knife from her thigh holster. Carefully you slide the blade under the straps, the incredibly sharp edge cuts through the thin suede like it’s nothing.

“Those were very expensive you know,” eyes sparkling with desire.

You slip the shoe off and toss it aside. “I’ll buy you a new pair.” Your lips press against her ankle.

Is it okay that I dont see my boyfriend during this pandemic? He asks me to come over but I don't think it's the best idea to, because it's advised we isolate and my job (that I have to go to because we haven't shut down) is high risk because I'm a cleaner at a venue so I see multiple different people and clean up gross things everyday, but he says that because I can go out to work then I can go out and see him. I dont want to hurt his feelings but I dont think he's seeing the big picture

There really isn’t precedent for this sort of thing. So suffice it for me to say, but you should probably follow the laws. The county I live near just went on mandatory shelter-in-place, which generally means going out for any reason at all. If you’re in an area where that’s happening, just make sure you’re following the rules and regulations outlined by your local officials. Last thing you want is to go to meet your boyfriend and get a citation for breaking travel restrictions. 

But let’s say that you’re not sheltering-in-place. Should you still see your partner? 

I think that really comes down to preference. A cleaner isn’t inherently a high-risk job; the level of risk rises with the amount of people you’re meeting with, not just because you’re interacting with gross stuff. As long as you’re cleaning with appropriate attire on and not licking doorknobs and stuff, you will probably be fine on the front of getting sick, and seeing your partner won’t be that big of a deal. 

The thing to take into account, however, is that Coronavirus is INCREDIBLY easy to transmit. And moreover, people can be asymptomatic for a very long time, and may not show any severe symptoms at all. This means that if you’re infected, but don’t realize it, you could be a risk to essentially everyone around you. How likely is that to actually happen? Again, depends on the generalized risk, depending on way too many factors. 

It also needs to be reminded that young people are not immune to Coronavirus. Just because older folks are at the highest risk doesn’t mean the rest of us aren’t. Even if most of us just weather the virus and get on it, there are new figures rising that say young people who do get sick can get severely ill. Quoted from here:

As a final note for this, because I’m sure there are many reading this who are in a similar position of wanting to see their loved ones, but are not sure what to do. I’m just going to assume that all of us are dumb monkeys with smartphones, because that’s what we are, and we’re very frequently going to make very stupid decisions in our own self-interest. 

Thus, if you’re considering or planning to visit your romantic partner while self-isolating, here is a quick rundown of things to take into account.  

First, when should you NOT see your partner? 

Are you around sick people? This applies especially to anyone working in a hospital, grocery store, or with other essential services. You’re around a lot of people. Just don’t do it.

Are you feeling under the weather? It doesn’t matter if it’s the cold, a simple cough, the flu, or actual coronavirus. If you’re not feeling well, STAY HOME. 

Have you been to a high risk area recently? This includes anywhere that a lot of people were. The beach, Disneyworld, foreign country, concert. Doesn’t matter. If you were recently around a huge number of people, STAY HOME and see if you develop symptoms. 

Does the law say to stay home? Obey the law. 

And then, assuming you ARE seeing your partner because you simply can’t help yourself, how can you make sure you’re not getting them sick? 

WASH YOUR HANDS. You should already be doing this all the time anyway, and if you don’t know how, a video is here and down below. But first thing you do when you get to your partner’s house, WASH YOUR HANDS. No hugs, no spanks, no nothing. Straight to the sink with you. 

STRIP. Man, who knew coronavirus was so sexy? But seriously, take off your damn clothes. If you drove from your house to theirs by yourself, it’s no big deal. But if you were out and about, interacting or nearby other people, or on public transit, why bother taking the risk of the virus being on your clothes? Bring a clean set of clothes with you, and change into them immediately. Leave them in a corner of the room or in your bag until it’s time to go home, and don’t interact with them. This way, if by some weird circumstance the virus IS on your clothes, you can get all cuddly without transmitting it from surface to your partner, or to yourself. Personally, being a bit of a germaphobe myself, this is the first thing I do any time I get home. 

WASH AND SHOWER. Again, this mostly applies if you were in public or on public transport, especially at your work. But go ahead and take your shower first thing. If you have coronavirus on you, it could be on your skin, on your hair, on your face. It’s invisible, so there’s no way to know. So just take a shower! Easy peasy, and you’ll be smelling great. 

SEXY TIME ANNOUNCEMENTS. Let’s be clear, coronavirus gets into the body through - usually - us dumb humans getting it on our hands, and touching our eyes, nose, mouth, ears, etc. So can you be sexy with your partner? GOOD QUESTION, and I don’t have the answer. So don’t take the risk with your dirty hands. If you want to be physically affectionate, follow the rules above: wash up thoroughly just to make sure.  The other concern is if you have the virus, and you start making out or smashing your partner, you could be spreading the virus. Again, this is no guarantee, and I’m no healthcare professional. But just be aware that this is directly putting yourself and your partner at risk in the event either one of you have the virus. Just be careful, and don’t be a hero if one person’s sick, and the other’s like, “I DON’T MIND I LOVE YOU.” Not this time, player. 

SHARING IS NOT CARING. Lots of partners will frequently share lots of things. Anything from cups and finger-foods, to as much weird stuff as toothbrushes, hairbrushes, and other stuff. Firstly, don’t share tooth or hairbrushes with people, that’s super unhygienic. But secondly, consider sharing less for now. If you or your partner share a cup of water, that’s one more opportunity for someone who has the virus in their system to pass it. Go reenact the Lady in the Tramp spaghetti scene later; right now, just use your own silverware, your own cups, your own plates, etc. 

BE AWARE OF WHO THEY SPEAK TO. The whole point of social distancing is that we’re interacting with the minimum number of people possible. If you and your boyfriend are only seeing each other, and nobody else beyond your work, that’s an OKAY scenario. Not great, but not bad. But if either you or your boyfriend are also visiting family, visiting other friends, going to their own job, etc., this should be a hard no-go.  Social distancing only works if we literally distance ourselves socially. That sucks, but it’s for the sake of everyone. If your boyfriend is visiting his other friends, his family, his coworkers, then you two should be highly aware of the web of people you’re interacting with. You’re already taking a risk by associating with one another; if you two are socializing as per normal, that’s just not good in any way.

Again, I’m not a healthcare provider. Listen to other people before me. But I know how hard it is to deny yourself contact with your significant other. It’s hard on everyone. And I know people are going to do it out of some romantic sense of love, and I can’t stop anyone from doing that. 

My goal here is to minimize the damage. PRACTICE SOCIAL DISTANCING, even when it sucks. Make sure you’re interacting with the minimum amount of people as possible while anyone around you might be sick. If that means that the sucky reality is you won’t get to see your partner very much, then that’s just life. Have internet dates, find other ways to associate. There are alternatives. 

And wash your fuckin’ hands.

MY LIFE AS A SENIOR HIGH STUDENT

Students face many challenges with school, relationship, work and social interactions. Hi! my name is Lalyn, 17 years old from laguna and I'am a senior at Francisco P. Tolentino Integrated High School. Let me tell you that being a student is not always easy. We really dont know what is stress is and we are just wait it until we grow up. But we as teenage students have our own levels of stress. All school activities is telling us to uphold our grade point average to yhe high standards, we dedicate any time to it day and night. Many students in their highschool years start their job, have to attend school in the morning, followed by responsibilities needing to be taken care at home.

High school is a place where students like me are made fun inside the school. we experience lot of things inside and outside of the school. Each of us knoes how to accept these challenges, and just like this challenges, i choose faith.

I am now Grade 12 student. I have lots of memories to keep with my beloved classmate and also our beautiful teacher. I knew that being a senior high student is not easy i taught that it is just for fun with easy activities but i was wrong. We, the students will give our own grade so we have to take focus and pass all the projects that the teacher give to us because we are graduating student we have goal that our batch will march on our graduation day.

My mom always tells me to enjoy it while i'am with my classmates. I know that the world outside of school is often harsh and that the responsibilities are serious. That’s exactly why I know that the focus I give to my future is essential in helping me navigate my way into a career that will allow me to contribute to society and enjoy who and what I become.

I want to remind everyone, including myself, that in this moment, we are as old as we have ever been, and as young as we will be again. Live in the moment! So that’s what I am trying to do learning as I go, wearing faith as my armor and knowing that in God’s plan we are all students and teachers, too.

Tagaytay is situated in the province of Cavite. Tagaytay is one of the country's most popular tourist destinations because of its scenery and cooler climate. Tagaytay is well-loved for its highland setting, offering a sanctuary that is close to nature. It's no wonder that it has become a popular destination, not just for fast vacations, but for celebrations. Tagaytay looks wonderful and beautiful it is, there's so much places that you've got to see.

There is beautiful places or destinations that you have to see in Tagaytay which is :

People's Park in the Sky, where it is located at the highest point of Tagaytay.

Skyranch have rides, where you can ride vikings, ferris wheel, roller coaster and many more. It is best to go there with your friends.

Picnic Grove, where you can get quiet picnic on the grass and you can also ride in the zipline. It is best to go there with your family.

Tagaytay holds many happy memories with me and my family. Both my parents are from Cavite where Tagaytay is. Come and visit and you can enjoy it's breeze and open spaces. Tagaytay is my place since I was born. I’ve been to so many places, but Tagaytay is one of the most beautiful and perfect places for me. It is always a chance to relax with my beloved parents, even though my both parents have a job. We cherish each moment together and I am so happy because I can see the happiness in their faces. Because on the other day, they already have a job. I was amazed by the ambiance and the view especially when I saw the taal volcano, even the tourist.

The tourist or people who visit in Tagaytay are interact with this place. It was beautiful and fascinating. We always enjoy foods, when we eat outside.

That moment I realized how important time is and enjoy my place. Thank you to my loving parents, because they gave me birth here in Tagaytay. Tagaytay will be always memorable places with me. It was nice seeing a lot people enjoying the view and taking pictures, here in Tagaytay. I think everyone love watching the view taking pictures, eating delicious foods and buying some stuffs, because every tourist I see, they enjoy everything in Tagaytay. Everyone had a chance to explore and see beautiful places that only here in the Philippines. I always thank God for being there for us and not letting us down. 2.            Starting on Day One, Cory will direct the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to require detention facilities to meet the new age of civil detention standards of the American Bar Association's Civil Immigration Detention Standards, which “call for detention as a last resort” and, for facilities that host children, to meet the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Facilities would be required to develop plans and meet deadlines for compliance with these requirements or face closure, Because, who really needs those jobs? with current residents transferred to facilities that meet those requirements or values willing to accept changes of better days.

The people held in DHS custody are seeking safer lives, from the danger they already know. The Trump Administration’s border detention camps are modern-day concentration camps, let's be real, the word camp, if thats what you believe as well, thats another vote for me. "Free-press," well "free-belief."   Also, immigration-human jails throughout the interior of the country are a stain on our nation’s history as a beacon for hope, freedom, and opportunity for generations in the world and over again. There's nothing great again, about making that apparent again and real in today's history textbooks. In recent weeks, the Administration has argued in court that migrant children don’t need safe and sanitary conditions and necessities, and DHS’s own inspector general has cataloged the horrific conditions at facilities. Do we need to wait for another Tv show or documentary highlighted this in 20-30 years or can we prevent this now.

            Cory would also increase accountability and transparency for detention facilities beginning on Day One, including directing DHS to permit access for independent experts and monitors to CBP facilities, improve the inspections process, require random spot checks of detention facilities, to make sure they aren't lazy on their housekeeping, if the already existing ones, have one. The prompt investigation of and published reports on all deaths of immigrants in its custody, because all lives they think don't matter, but it will matter, and only God knows when.

3.          Virtually eliminate our nation’s reliance on immigration incarceration, with the air of human trafficking around it. Includes ending the use of for-profit detention facilities. Most people in immigration detention are held in non-federal facilities and approximately 65% are held in detention centers run by for-profit prison corporations. Sending paid intel in prisons, are they? with no morality to be hoped for, bending will to work there seems easy.  Cory would direct the DHS to phase out its contracts with private prison facilities and county or local prisons over a three year period. Against the advice of the UN High Commissioner on Refugees, the United States has come to rely on incarceration as our primary method of migration management, how easy and lazy and legally evil. Under the Trump Administration, detention has increased by more than 40% and 50,000 humans sit in jail every day, left alone, the free, or starving, what is worse? often in substandard, plainly unacceptable conditions. Today, this system is perpetuated in part by the profit motives of private contractors and local blackmailed or not governments. By adopting evidence-based non-profit alternatives to detention and ensuring that detention is used as a last resort or less costly decisions. Cory’s goal would be to virtually eliminate immigration human detention, with limited exceptions. If there is a risk to public safety or flight risk because, we know 10-year-old serial killers can be produced in the 1% environment or in the detention camps, I rather use the word, centers.

Number 4.            End all abusive detention conditions and unnecessary delays for children and families is the outcome of 1-3 promises. Today, unaccompanied children and immigrant families suffer inhumane conditions and overcrowding when they arrive at the United States border. The Trump administration has pigeon-holded and expanded the detention of immigrant families despite its own government experts warning of the irreparable harm it causes to children. They are our young messiahs, the Administration has also proposed undoing the Flores Agreement, a set of standards that has protected the rights and treatment of detained immigrant children for over two decades. Why, is the protection being reprimanded, when the process to detain them is harsher? what is this thinking? Cory will fully abide by the Flores Agreement protections for children and fight to ensure that children who come to the United States unaccompanied receive the best care and support during their time in Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) custody, including access to medical, social service, and child welfare professionals, and speedy reunification with their relative or sponsor. Canada has 25 or younger for free health care, we dont even have free health care for 1/3 of those years. for your 1% children or any children, wouldn't you rather bet with those winnings? i mean, I would. Number 5         Create a presumption of liberty with a fair and humane bond process.  Amongst, journalism, First responders, and citizens with new immigrants, this Administration has chosen to ramp up immigrant detention despite the fact that there is no community safe in any city's jurisdiction for doing so. Where do they think they will go, if not the obvious choice to start a new life? Asylum seekers and long-time members of our communities are torn from their families and held in private prisons and county jails for the months or years it can take to have their case heard in immigration court, including pregnant women, nursing mothers, primary caregivers, the elderly, people with disabilities, LGBTQ, and other vulnerable populations along being a minority without evidence of a risk to public safety.----- Cory would shift federal enforcement priorities from a presumption of detention to a presumption of liberty. Under existing practices, many humans are arrested without warrants, left in detention for days or weeks without charging documents, denied the opportunity to request release on bond, and already being a refugee a request to prevail through bonds are already demoralizing, applying 1% minded laws, to refugees does not promote economic growth, it prolongs a modern-day slavery chain in which they are hopeless for eligibility for bond, a charge bond, that is unattainable, leaving them in detention. Cory would restore fairness and due process to the detention system by directing DHS to require probable cause within 48 hours of detention, at least a sooner outcome to begin proper delegation on and to ensure fair bond hearings for detained children our young aliens, it states an requirement that immigrants are released into the least restrictive setting and now with the process of undoing the Flores agreement, unless DHS provides evidence of a flight risk or danger to the community, and for immigration judges to take into account an immigrant’s ability to pay when setting bond and a promised of economic flow. Undoing the Flores agreement is a trusted wrongful step into this direction of this not happening. Cory would also direct DHS to develop a wide range of alternatives to detention operated in partnership with non-profit community partners, including community-based case management programs. Research has shown that such programs are “cheaper, more effective, and more humane” than detention.

number 6               Expand legal counsel for all immigrants, starting with immigrant children. Access to legal counsel remains a challenge: about two-thirds of immigrants face their deportation proceedings without a lawyer. And representation matters, especially if already under the guise of their homeland restricting their rights. Studies show that immigrants with legal representation are at least twice as likely to gain lawful protection in the United States. So, once again why undue the Flores agreement. Furthermore, when individuals are represented by counsel they are nearly 100% certain to comply with their court dates, what else is going to cause a delay, they have no connection to anything in the US. Deportation cases can be matters of life and death. The Trump administration tried to end the Legal Orientation Program (LOP) that provided basic information to immigrants in detention about their process and rights. The source of knowing the information to help your right to live is understandingly not brought up in Canada as a citizen. So, in relation as an incoming immigrant, they should know the requirements indefinitely, to be presented into a country to help benefit the country?  Cory will use his authority to expand access to counsel and the LOP to cover all detention centers and immigration courts and expand access to counsel for humans, especially unaccompanied orphaned children.

number 7                    A new vision for modernizing immigration: Stop treating immigrants as criminals. The criminal prosecution of improper entry has been used by the Trump Administration as a emplaced crack for the separation of thousands of families. Not only is this practice inhumane and counter to our values, but it also makes us less safe by focusing law enforcement resources on people who pose no risk to public safety. like, what exactly is defining the law, in the Trump administration, if not too be, a white hypocrite, when swearing an oath? Cory would reverse President Trump’s “zero-tolerance” policy, end Operation Streamline, and direct U.S. attorneys to deprioritize improper entry prosecutions across the U.S., unless an individual poses a public safety risk, with new-thinking of proper entry prosecutions.

Stop terrorizing immigrants in their homes and communities by reforming ICE and CBP and increasing accountability. When it brings no real safety to current citizens and incoming potential citizens. This is a natural selection of enlisting blind mules to generate economy in a backward spiral with no prosperous aspects to do inter-galactical exports and imports. All we have our Chinese deals in trying hard to reproduce fail Ai's.  In Cory’s administration, he will direct DHS to end immigration raids on “sensitive locations”—which today include schools, medical facilities and places of worship—as carried out by the Trump Administration and to expand the list of sensitive locations to explicitly include courthouses, among other locations. Cory would also end programs like 287(g) agreements used by ICE to allow local law enforcement to enforce federal immigration law, First of all, what are the qualifications that undergo the special badge to enforce such federal laws through local enforcement, other than fake suits from the FBI, opps, i mean ICE.  this creates ombudsman offices at ICE and CBP to monitor suspected abusive behavior with only negative solutions.

Expand pathways for refugees and those seeking asylum. Time and time again, the current president has put needless and unjust barriers in the path of refugees and asylum seekers to make obtaining asylum as arduous as possible, as we saw just last week with the heartbreaking image of Óscar Alberto Martínez Ramírez and his 23-month-old daughter Angie Valeria’s death. As president, Cory will meet our international responsibility head-on by removing the unnecessary barriers put in place by the Trump Administration including the Remain in Mexico policy, asylum metering, the asylum ban, guidance that makes it more difficult for the whole bang of domestic violence victims to obtain protection, and the Muslim and refugee bans. Cory would also increase the cap on refugees to a minimum of 110,000, strengthen staffing at the border for interviews for asylum seekers. This will enforce a strengthen care in-country refugees processing in Central America because they only care about the southern states and entries.

number 9         Revoke the orders against sanctuary cities and expanding interior enforcement. In January 2017, the president issued an executive order to strip federal funding from localities that do not comply with his agenda of mass-deportation and dramatically expand interior enforcement. Federal courts ruled the president’s executive order unconstitutional and have blocked his policies from taking effect. Cory would back these minds and provide the real income restoration of these policies and stand up for cities that protect the well-being of every member of their community.

Take steps to end the backlog of immigration cases. The Trump Administration has increased the backlog of immigration cases by establishing unrealistic case quotas for immigration judges and by ending the use of administrative closure. Cory will roll back the executive actions that have increased the backlog, including case quotas, and reinstate administrative closure authority to give judges the ability to waive automatic inadmissibility or deportation. In other words, this is another way to automatically sentenced a death penalty.

Number 10          Reinstate and expand the Central American Minors Program. The Central American Minors (CAM) refugee and parole program provided eligible children from Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador a legal, safe alternative passage, that first world countries experience, then to be subjected to dangerous and sometimes deadly journeys to the U.S by allowing refugees and family members to apply for status in-country or in neighboring countries. The program was ended by the Trump Administration in 2017. Cory would mostly re-establish this program as top priority as it can be an umbrella effect, to the rest of all trump's undoing with regards to, ORR, CBP, and ICE. To make the improvements to enable more children and their families to utilize this pathway to legal refugee status in the U.S. I'd like your consideration if this should be the first priority above everything else I have stated. To reinstall CAM because, I will do it regardless.

number 11     In a more out worldly cooperation, I plan to address the root causes of migration and the refugee crisis, around the world. This meaning in Africa, the Caribbean, and the Middle East, this president has placed barriers in the way of people fleeing crises. Families are fleeing the Northern Triangle countries of Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador in record numbers. In recent years, corruption has been on the rise, the region has been one of the leaders in the world in poverty and violence, and the effects of climate change -- including drought and other resource shortages -- have accelerated these trends. Rather than address these underlying causes of migration--not only in the Northern Triangle, but also in Africa, the Caribbean, and the Middle East--the Trump administration has provoked our allies and placed barriers in the way of people fleeing crisis. In April, President Trump announced that he would cut foreign aid to the Northern Triangle countries for failing to stop the migration of children and families to seek asylum. It's either the world relies on America, or America relies on No one, there's nothing unifying in these actions. Just a bunch of bullied states all sharing one land. This action, like President Trump’s entire approach to immigration, is based on a faulty notion that force and threats are what is needed to control migration. That approach hasn’t worked and has contributed to a humanitarian crisis at our border and the inhumane treatment and abuse of immigrants and fearful already made citizens within our country. Cory has supported an increased investment and multi-year commitment in foreign aid to Central America to address the root causes of migration, we simply need a new president. Hitler reborn would have a new outlook, wouldn't he? I guess not. As part of his executive actions to address this crisis, Cory would strengthen that commitment by:

                    Appoint a Special Envoy at the State Department to lead Administration efforts and focus on the root causes of migration - corruption, violence, poverty, and climate change. Instead of slow-walking and proposing to cut the disbursement of crucial foreign aid funds to address the root causes of migration like the Trump Administration doesn't do, Cory would commit to using foreign aid to address the root causes of migration and would appoint a Special Envoy to focus on and prioritize addressing the root causes of migration by:

- Leading a comprehensive strategy to invest in democratic institutions - reduce corruption - Reducing violence and crime - Fighting poverty and supporting economic development - Recognizing the role of climate change and identifying strategies to     mitigate its effects on migration.

Use the full power of our diplomatic tools through our minds, our egos, and letting something new develop a super ID. True Aliens look at nuclear militia means as caveman fire starters. From cutting successful international aid programs to failing to support a joint United Nations-Guatemala anti-corruption commission, to allowing crucial diplomatic posts to remain vacant, President Trump’s approach to diplomacy has only contributed to growing crises around the world, He is creating these problems, and ontop of them only providing old cold war means out of threat and force, with no means of war as a false pretense. Thus, I'd never be voicing, hitting, or hinting, of aggressive means in worldly meetings.

Number 12.   Reaffirming our values by expanding protections for immigrants and rolling back the Trump Administration’s anti-immigrant policies is about restoring and expanding protections for immigrants who live in our communities as family members, neighbors, colleagues, and friends. After nearly two years of litigation, the fate of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) remains uncertain. In September 2017, the Trump Administration rescinded the DACA program, throwing the lives and futures of more than 700,000 undocumented immigrants who came to the country as children. Then implemented his ICE program with the removal of the Flores agreement. So, as we saw not only abandoned DACA children but, their relatives including the family members and communities fell into limbo, so the snowball effect hits his old supporters that are now living in fear as well. Over the past two-and-a-half years, the Trump Administration also has moved to revoke Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for 98% of recipients, as well as for Liberians with Deferred Enforced Departure (DED). These people - the vast majority of whom have lived and worked in the U.S. with lawful status for decades. This may soon bring the faces of citizens being deported to unsafe and unstable conditions in their former home countries. who are safe? with him as president, definitely not his paid supporters either. Cory would restore and expand policies that provide protection to Dreamers, their families, individuals with TPS, and those with DED status, and promote opportunities to help beneficiaries pursue available pathways to citizenship.

Number 13.       End the discriminatory Muslim, refugee, and asylum bans. In September 2017, after two previous attempts were thwarted in federal courts, President Trump proposed a third version of his discriminatory Muslim ban, which bans people from five Muslim-majority countries, and North Korea from accessing both immigrant and non-immigrant visas. Around the same time, the president ramped up his attacks on refugees and asylum seekers through a series of proposals, which sought to ban refugees from several Muslim-majority countries, and an asylum ban which sought to summarily deport whole categories of asylum seekers. Cory will rescind these discriminatory restrictions on immigration and travel to the United States.

Number 14         Stop the border wall that is wasting taxpayer money and harming local environments and communities. The President’s wasteful border wall won’t make us safer. It will make us vulnerable, it shows fear, any real nationalist who has the strength to run a country wouldn't make a wall, it's a coward's way of thinking of protection in a defensive position, what are we waiting for? a war, if so, we will lose. In fact, efforts to build a wall have devastated the environment around the border and stalled important trade and legal human transit. As president, Cory would end the executive actions that provide funding for the border wall, and facilitate removal of the wall where it is harming border communities and environmental prosperity.

Lastly, Rescind the proposed public charge rule that targets immigrant families. The Trump Administration’s targets immigrants for deportation if they use programs that reduce hunger, poverty, and sickness, forcing them to choose between basic needs and keeping their family together. Cory would roll back the public charge rule because, Trump doesn't know what, basic means socially and the needs for humanity.
