sometimes it's super sad going into the polin tag and seeing all the 'Pen is gonna be THE debutante next season' or 'Pen is gonna be the Diamond of S3' or 'Pen about to get ALLLLL the attention' and like
penelope was supposed to be for the wallflowers. the quiet girls. the ones who aren't the center of attention. penelope was never meant to be the heart of the party or the big draw or the one everyone drooled over. penelope was meant to be the character representing all the peeps who stood off to the side and, in many cases, preferred it that way.
give me Penelope going through all these lessons to be more 'appealing' and all the sparkly dresses and going 'actually? i kind of hate this'. give me Penelope dancing the night away with stranger after stranger and cringing about it the whole time. give me Penelope who just wants to go back to her hobbies and her friends and her comfy corner and is tired of pretending. give me Penelope who goes through the tedious introductions and the 'what's your name? number of siblings? favorite color? great. . .' first dates of it all and hating it. give me a Penelope who empathizes like hell with Eloise because she understands now how stressful it is to always be looked at and watched. give me a Penelope who has extra appreciation for Colin for looking to understand her when she was 'invisible' in ways no one else tried to. give me Penelope who gets a taste of being The Star and spits it right out
you don't have to be the sparkling gem of a party to be worth love and care. some of us don't want the Diamond moment. we deserve our flowers, too.

hello scpblr i have risen from the void to bring thee my own personal Shaw interpretation/headcanon
Jack was either placed indefinitely in the freezer or they found a way to actually terminate him.
So firstly, I have yet to figure out how in the fuck this guy got in possession of scp-963-2, suggestions welcome
secondly, I decided to spice it up for -2 to make it work a lil differently so: When the host of SCP-963-2 is injured, fatally or otherwise it will heal the wound, now this has its limits, if most or all the body is destroyed beyond repair, it'll trap the hosts soul inside and basically stay there until another viable host touches the amulet, forcing the hosts soul into the body, replacing it. This makes the host effectively immortal. Now while the soul does get replaced, memories from the new host will still be there, over time with growing number of bodies this would become a problem as the human mind can only hold on to so many memories.
As of now Shaw has yet to experience this, he's been immortal for only a couple months and id enjoying the high of never dying, he's done pretty good at keeping his body intact and functioning.
Shaw is just some guy who likes red sunglasses, 70's fashion, and indie pop. He's so girlypop I love him<3 he's making my brain go brrrrr

Am I the only one who GENUINELY loves Paul’s old man singing voice? Like, I don’t know. Maybe it’s not as strong and doesn’t hold exactly as well as it used to, but it is SO GOOD to convey a more vulnerable state of mind, to hear what the core of a human emotion sounds like. Like, I obviously love Paul’s voice ALWAYS, but back in the day it sounded like an “aesthetically” pleasing voice and wasn’t often moved by it (I was more moved by his lyrics, piano, guitar and bass playing). And now I just connect to his voice instinctively.
Frankly, I don’t care that on some days he doesn’t get to certain high notes, or that his voice breaks. Actually, THAT’S THE POINT. I don’t want a vocalist to be flawless. I want a vocalist to express something.

AU where Danny develops early arthritis and some chronic pain issues in his left hand as a consequence of the portal accident frying it.
When it flares up, he may have to alter his fighting style a little to make up for it and minimize pain or he may not be in the best of moods or condition. This (and the distraction it may cause) could totally be used as a reason to have Danny get hit by stuff he normally wouldn't. It could even be used for a reveal scenario or to change things up a little in general.

my sibling just sent me someone's book review that sparked a conversation between the reviewer and someone else about [very paraphrased] 'i would love to hear about a society of sentient trains where not all trains feel like being trains and some trains do art or ballet or unionize, etc, and what challenges this poses' because this exchange made my sibling instantly think of me and now i'm having an absolute moment over this because THAT'S WHAT'S IN MY BRAIN. THAT'S THE EXTENDED STAREX AU. AM I BEING TRUMAN SHOW'D RN?? HELLO????

gods I love drawing texture i love drawing velvet i love drawing carapace i love making the light scatter and the shine spots on smooth things
i love fur, I love how it both drinks in and refracts the light
I love that polar bears have transparent hollow hair to hold heat to their bodies
science and art friends 4ever
if you want to be an artist, study anatomy study light study evolution study kinetics
When you know skin is more like a gel you can understand how to layer colors to make it feel realistic
When you learn muscles, your faces will emote so much better and your bodies will contort and bulge in the ways you know you can break the rules instead of breaking them accidentally
When you learn the various types of natural hinges, what happens when muscles are too short and too long or can bend beyond what they should, you learn how to tell a story just as well as shape theory does
And when you're into science and you learn the arts, when you turn your hands, you can understand why weavers used the precursors to the computer, why punch cards were used first, why the first printing press was a modified wine press, why embroiderers and lace artisans were still working in the tech industries into the 60's
You'll find your hands stronger as you play guitar and work at sculpture, you'll find your designs more elegant and more likely to work than your usual brutalist boxes
You'll learn about the origins of dyes and why they're important, why gold is still important to computing, why silver is important to cooking, why it can be useful to water cooling systems
By learning how ceramic works, you build better circuits
And as each learn from each other, we all become better humans because we are different yet each has so much to fucking offer the world still
We are bees, we all can learn of comb, of flower, of honey and birth and dance as we look in awe of the logarithmic spirals and golden ratio and the tragedy of a grave with the wrong spiral on it and why it took a weaver looking at stone age tools to realize what they were for
Humans, a colony of humans who do different things to help the whole
That is the ideal of art. That is the ideal of science. That is the ideal of humankind.
