20p Adventures, 20p Shorts ep1.

Synopsis: 20p, just to use the toilet! We can all agree that putting a cost on relieving oneself is truly an evil act by the higher powers and you’d be quite right in thinking ‘I’ll just slip over the barrier’. At one point Joey would have thought this, but not when the toilet turns out to be a portal into other dimensions. Leading to Joey and their best friend Sammy going on many a quirky and wondrous adventure, guided by their ever-welcoming guide, Schrödinger (‘s cat) – all for the best bargain you’ll find. Naturally, you are all welcome to join, just don’t forget your 20p!

For those who have been following me for a while will know that this has been a long time coming. I have spent what feels like an eternity developing these character and story and I can't wait to share with you all the shenanigans these three get up to.

Eventually I will be releasing a longer story, even more jam-packed with quirky joy. However for now, I hope you enjoy my fun little shorts.

Hey hey Peeps!

Have belated Thanksgiving! Sorry again for being so quiet - I've had to take on some part-time jobs to support myself so things have been hectic.

I hope to get more convention commission photos up soon (still have a few to get through), but on that note of conventions, I have some news: This next year, 2023, I will be taking a break from conventions. I might do 1 or 2 shows, but will not be appearing as frequently at others this next year.

I need to take time to regroup and work on new things for the table, as well as get together new work for my portfolio so I can hopefully stop working at Kroger and Staples as I do now.

I do have some GOOD news though, to balance this out. The Etsy shop is back up! Right now, all I have are Pick Your Own Button Bundles, as people seem to like to Mix and Match, though I hope to get my pillows up there, maybe the prints, and separate button sets or Custom Button options available soon.

Stickers will probably not be up any time soon, as I'm still looking for a new printer, as mine died a while back and I haven't been able to print new ones since - another reason I need to take a break from conventions as I figure that one out.

In keeping with the relaunch theme of ribbons and colorful magical girls. I thought I’d do a bit of a through back and try drawing Rainbow Brite in my style. I thought some of you might be interested in seeing my process of how I came up with the design for the 20p Adventures logo - says the geeky person in the corner who loves seeing other artists process.

At one point, I did try to incorporate a circular design for the 20p to make it more internationally inclusive. However, I kept going back to the soft angled design of the British 20p. I had intended from the start for 20p Adventures to be based in the UK, so all of my earlier designs used the British 20 pence piece and I suppose I became a little attached to the design - absolutely not favouritism for currency I've grown up with! - you can prove nothing! The diamond seen in some of the designs was back when I was trying to be extremely clever and thus fell partly through the cracks, but that is a story for another day!

The Port-Al-Loo accepts any currency, as long as it roughly equates to 20p, exchange rates do apply, so I promised you will not get overcharged for your adventure!
