Azerbaijan conducts joint military exercise with Turkey on the border with Armenia
Azerbaijan’s Defence Ministry announced the launch of joint exercise with Turkey near the border with Armenia on Monday, weeks after the seizure of Nagorno-Karabakh.
Azerbaijan’s lightning-fast military operation in Nagorno-Karabakh ended last month with the transfer of territory to Azerbaijan.
The ministry stated that “about 3,000” soldiers would participate in tactical exercises dubbed “Mustafa Kemal Atatürk 2023” in Baku, the Nakhichevan exclave between Iran and Armenia and in Karabakh, territories formerly held by ethnic Armenians. The exercise is aimed at “ensuring combat interoperability” between allied countries.
The European Union and the United States have taken the lead in mediating a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan in recent years. Russia has also mediated the conflict, but its efforts have diminished after focusing on the war in Ukraine.

To anyone interested in learning about Artsakh, its history and the struggle of Artsakhi Armenians for freedom and self determination, I suggest checking out Learn For Artsakh initiative (@/learn4artsakh on Instagram). They share a lot of information on these topics and spotlight the interconnection of violence inflicted on the indigenous groups in the region by the colonizing powers.
They also have an e-library with free pdfs of many books written by Armenians about Artsakh as well as literature about DR Congo, Sudan, Palestine and other nations experiencing genocide (scroll down to the "Libraries Against Genocide" section).

Undoubtedly, April 24th has become a day to remain vigilant and stay safe. However, for 109 years now, it has been much more than that.
April 24th is Armenian Genocide remembrance day.
This year marks 109 years since it began. 109 years of denial, 109 years of hearing, "It didn't happen, but they deserved it."
The only crime of the Armenian people is existing.
Today, we honor and remember the victims of this terrorism that is still widely unrecognized and denied. Can you imagine if this is how the Holocaust was treated?
It is a day for us to also stay vigilant as the amount of hate crimes rise this day, as sickening as that is, because Turkish and Azeri hate knowns no end. Because they teach their young that we're subhuman and gleefully laugh at any harm that befalls us, especially from their own hands. Even to this day, they believe we're better off dead.
Simply look at happened to Anush Apetyan, though be wary because it was horrifying. That should make clear the difference between the Armenian people and these genocidal Turkic nations.
Even in media, on any video regarding anything about Armenia, even if it's simply sharing an Armenian recipe, Turks and Azeris invade the space, calling on Armenian suffering, death, and bragging about their successful attempts of genocide and colonizing.
Two nations full of hate, fueled by rewritten history, propaganda, and nationalism. So much so that they literally spam Armenian spaces. Everywhere. All the time.
Kind of crazy from people who "didn't do it", hm?
If you stand for and are very vocal about Palestinians, you can be just as loud for Armenians.

etz hayyim (“tree of life”) synagogue in chania, crete, greece. the building dates to the 14th-15th centuries, and was originally a venetian catholic church. it was acquired by chania's jewish community and converted into a synagogue in the late 17th century. chania's jews were deported due to the holocaust in 1944, after which the building remained abandoned until restoration in the 1990s.
romaniote jews are the oldest jewish community in europe and one of the oldest in the world, thought to have lived in and around present day greece since before 70 ce. they have their own liturgy that is unrelated to the more commonly used european ones (ashkenazic and sephardic).

RUSSIAN PEACEKEEPERS WITHDRAW FROM NAGORNO-KARABAKH
The Press Secretary for the Russian Federation, Dmitry Peskov, confirmed on Wednesday the withdrawal of the Russian Peacekeeping forces from the contentious Nagorno-Karbakh region of Azerbaijan, an Armenian enclave that had been under independent administration by the Armenian population of the area until Azarbajani forces reclaimed the region in a large-scale offensive, beginning on September 19th, 2023.
A Russian Peacekeeping force numbering 1'960 military personnel with small arms, along with 90 armored personnel carriers and 380 units of vehicles and special equipment where stationed in the Nagorno-Karbakh area, beginning with the tripartite statement issued on November 10th, 2020 by the President of Azerbaijan, the Prime Minister of Armenia and the Russian President.
The mission was scheduled to continue until 2025, however, since the Armenian President recognized the area as belonging to Azerbaijan, discussions around the administration of the region were ongoing between the leaders of the three countries.
Yesterday, footage emerged showing Russian forces withdrawing from Nagorno-Karbakh.
Following the release of the footage, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov was asked about the withdrawal, to which he responded, "Yes, this is true."

Azerbaijan criticises French President’s statements on refusal of Azerbaijan and Turkey to participate in meeting on Karabakh
Azerbaijan on Friday criticised claims by French President Emmanuel Macron that the presidents of Turkey and Azerbaijan had refused to attend a meeting in Spain this week on the latest events in the southern Caucasus region of Karabakh.
Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement:
Allegations of the French President (Emmanuel Macron) on the refusal of Azerbaijan and Türkiye to participate in the (European Political Community) Granada meeting is a clear case of hypocrisy. The participants of this event are well aware of the particular opposition of France to Türkiye’s participation in the meeting. The French president spreading false information on this issue is improper behavior for the head of state.

Yeah, fuck Disney in general but also fuck Disney specifically for this. If anyone can contact them to let them know how fucked up that is, that would be very cool. And spread this around, so people who use Disney+ could know who they give their money to.
