I was today years old when I discovered that MORRIE and Arika Takarano (ALI PROJECT) are friends.
What I knew:
1-When ALI PROJECT had their major debut, it was under the same company. And that's where they met.
2-Arika participated in the tribute CD DEAD END Tribute -Song of Lunatics-. She sang the cover of Serafine.
3-She was invited to one of his concerts in 2014 (I'm going to look it up later, because I'm sure it was a year after the release of the tribute album)
4-Some random comment of a Japanese person talking about how Sugizo was looking for a singer (for Serafine) and somebody told him about Arika and her friendship with MORRIE. But that was a random, I had no proof.
5-Somebody illegaly uploaded a photo of her and MORRIE after (or before) his concert that is published on ALI PROJECT's official fanclub magazine.
So, today I was reading Arika's old entries from her blog and find one that actually talks about their friendship. But first, this is coming from the woman who writes NOTHING about her private life and at the same time writes tiny bits: her visits to art museums, beauty and fashion stuff, literature. Picture this: 30 years in the scene (as a major) and no childhood pictures, just last year a photo of her mother, I think a man who appeared in max 10 photos is her younger brother. I believe there's beauty in that but still.
(I am so sorry about making it so long) The thing is, Arika wrote that he's a friend, and that she considers that he is only one worthy of calling himself a musician. LOL

Wish Live at 南青山MANDALA (12.11.1996)
This is a live concert documented by this youtube channel, Babibeban.
I backed up their Ali Project concerts to keep them safe. This concert is from December 11, 1996 and was performed at 南青山MANDALA.
This is notable for CLAMP fans, specifically due to the performance of the Wish Gift Box songs; Wish and How to Make an Angels Egg. Not only that, Ali Project also performs Peony Pink, the opening theme to Clamp School Detectives.
For people not familiar with with Ali Project, they are a band of many styles. At one point they were classified as Progressive Rock, Psychedelic Rock and Neo Classical.
Ali Project consists of Arika Takarano (vocals and lyrics; Japanese, French, and Chinese) and Mikiya Katakura (arrangement and music; synth & violin). They have two defined styles known to fans as "Shiro (White) Ari" and "Kuro (Black) Ali "; Shiro Ali being light, fluffy, cute (Peony Pink, Wish) and Kuro Ali being heavier, intense, and evocative (Kneel Down and Lick My Boots). I personally think the 1998 album, Noblerot, is the start of their transition so that makes these concerts an amazing find!
If you have Spotify, please check them out as they have some of their library available... including the album "Music Tracks from Wish".
