Went up to my mom and just said "You are a cisgendered heterosexual woman." just to see if she would get defensive and she went "Yeah- that is what a straight woman's called, right?" literally to make sure she was right on what she was thinking. She wasn't offended off the bat, she literally ASKED to be sure she knew what she thought it meant, and she was right. And yeah, when I told her that's essentially what it was, she continued "Yeah that's me. *scoff* Why, are the bigots offended that gay people call them straight now?" and laughed because she thought she was making a joke. I told her "Yeah they're offended over being called straight, they think it's a slur." and I thought she was going to explode from the stupidity by the face she gave me. And then she went on a 30 minute long rant about why that is the stupidest thing she's heard this week and why the hell do they think that's a "slur" and to call it a slur is literally offensive to those who get called actual slurs. (Which I ofc agree but it's fun to watch her rant because she literally pulls out historic context of shit and cites it and shit she's right) So there's my mom's support for you guys this week ig even if she's got to go into a historic rant about the history of the first slur along with it.

I just talked about lesbian TV-shows with my straight roommate and I just can't-I said to her that as a straight person she can just turn on any TV show or movie and she's going to be able to see herself in it. Homegirl immediately said NO. What do you mean no? In my 21 years of watching movies I have never EVER come across a single movie where there was not a single straight relationship in it. I can't think of a single one.

She just has no clue about the fucking scavenging hunt you have to go through at a certain point to find a TV show with lesbians that has not been canceled.
