Image ID: A scene full several speculative aliens flying and hunting another alien. Most of the aliens are large pack hunters. They have a dragonfly-like body plan, mantis-like arms, and a long neck and head. On their backs are Zoronxie aliens, which are bipedal and raptor-like with a long tail, wings, and a segmented neck. Together they work to herd a massive-whale like creature. Only it’s head fits into frame as the dragonflies and Zoronxie swarm around it. End ID
Hartiklk are some of the largest flying animals on Zornxia, feeding almost entirely on the microscopic life that floats through the dense atmosphere. On the edge of being to heavy to fly, there is nothing that dares hunt a full grown Hartiklk.
… With the exception of a group of Karash that live along the sunrise areas of the ocean. These pack hunters, equipped with four wings that can beat both individually and in tandem, are among the best hunters in the skies. But what tips the hunt in their favor is the group of Zoronxie accompanying them. Zoronxie, the sapient species native to Zornxia, are more than able to hop onto the back of the Hartiklk and help subdue it.
It should be said that the relationship between the Zoronxie and the Karash hunters can’t be compared to that of humans and dogs. Zoronxie don’t put much stock in domesticating animals, and so these Karash are as wild as wolves. Their allowance towards the Zoronxie hunter even might be compared to that of wolves and ravens.
Conlang and biology notes under the cut :)
Zoronxie have upper jaws within their heads which they use for speech, and a pair of lower jaws that they use for eating. You can see how exaggerated the Karash’s jaws are in the image :). The face leads to the lungs, but has no connection to the stomach. The lower jaws are the opposite.
Hartiklk is pronounced har .t i /klk with both an upper jaw click (.t) and upper snap (/klk)). Karash and Zoronxie are both pronounced without any jaw syllables, but for two different reasons. Karash is just. That way anyways, but the word for Zoronxie is actually an adaptation from the Galactic Standardized/Enithian Standardized. That itself was an adaptation from whatever the original word for the species was.
Also. Hartiklk gets translated into Arabic as حوت, and Karash gets translated into يعسوب . Which then gets translated to ‘whale’ and ‘dragonfly’ in English. If you can tell. If anyone wants to, please correct me on the Arabic. Karash are VERY dragonfly-esc. They fly almost the same way, maybe with a little bit of hummingbird in there.
Also you can see how the Hartiklk’s ceramic-like sections on its face have seperations for an actual mouth section. Which is super unlike the Karash and Zoronxie faces, which only have additional nostril equivalents that mimic a mouth. Both Karash and Zoronxie, as kind of mentioned before, have seperate arm-like limbs that are the actual mouths.
But Hartiklk actually kind of fuse the mouth limbs into the head, so they can have a super wide mouth for eating microbes :). But that makes their nostrils and lungs really fucked up. The intake is pretty normal (the lines in the ceramic section above the mouth) but instead of having the lungs in the neck and breathing out of the same section the breath in with, Hartiklk have lungs only within the head, and they exhale with a section behind the ceramic plate that houses their eye.
Also something something speargun. Don’t worry about it. Did you enjoy my incomprehensible ramblings.

from Greece and Turkish Muslims are still so butthurt that they lost Greece it is insane lol they are constantly trying to antagonize us and then there is their ugly settler-colony on occupied Cyprus. They cry racism they were never allowed in the EU But the reason that is true is because they are illegally occupying greek territory
I never got why they're so hellbent on keeping that tiny spec of land they grabbed in Cyprus...it has no strategic or historical nor financial value whatsoever. But yeah it's wild how most ppl refuse to call like 80% of today's Arab world an occupation

my study plan:
right now the main things im struggling with are maths and the tree sciences (physics is the worst of the three tbh)
i changed schools in september which was an amazing experience but i didnt want to do it because it would mean switching exam boards. therefore ive got a lot of information missing (things that my classmates did last year that i didnt do and didnt get to do)
so therefore im gonna utilize the time i have left and teach myself everything i'm supposed to know but wasn't taught. i'm gonna use the specifications as a guide and do unit-by-unit (for the three sciences ofc)
(in business and arabic i dont rlly have any missing info since both schools ive been in use the same exam board- but right now i'm focusing on whats critical, which is adding that information that i shouldve had)
i'm gonna do the three sciences first and revise from the spec, then i'll worry about how to revise maths later
right now my worst science is physics so i'm gonna watch cognito videos on my computer and take notes on my ipad, then later i'll make those notes into physical flashcards i can study from.
im starting with unit one- i know it, but i want to go back to basics before teaching myself anything new

Speck Lore:
Just some basic info I threw together about five minutes ago based on my little theories I discussed with my friend about him the other night at like 4 am.
-Callsign is actually Speck. Came from when he first left operating and everyone called him Spec-Ops but it was too long so it eventually just shortened to Speck
-He's about 38-40 years old (This is not an age gap fic, maybe next time)
-Speck is…A liar to say the least. He rarely ever tells the truth and it's the due to past issues from his career in the military
-He was not a Marine like he told Price, that's just what he tells anyone who asks
-Speck went through BUD/S which stands for Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL training
-He was in fact a Navy Seal Tier One Operator
-He did way more than two deployments overseas and was in countless black ops missions for his country
-There was an incident (will be discussed in the fic later on) that caused him to retire early which is why he is where he is now
-Speck is now contracted to a private company that sends him, basically, where no one else wants to go. The only reason he was in the UK at the time is because he had heat on his ass and needed to lay low for a while. No one is going to search for a southerner in fuckin Birmingham, UK
-Man has a lot of family trauma, and boy do I mean a lot
-He wasn't always out as gay, has been married before, and has two kids he never sees anymore. His ex-wife didn't want him around them after they were divorced and used all his time on deployments to gain full custody of their kids
-Mans is also a gay man from Georgia, I don't know if any of yall have ever been a gay man from Georgia but when you are, and especially from a small town, your family doesn't exactly appreciate the fact their son is gay, at least not usually. God forbid they ever find out you aren't the top in the relationship, man is just out here tryna survive
-Makes hella money now and never sees any of it cause child support a bitch, also alimony
-Anyone who looks at Speck ever: Whatchu doin out here wit all that ass?? Double cheeked up on a Thursday afternoon.
-Is a dog handler
-Has a Dutch Shepherd
-Always covered in dog hair
-Dog's name is Cerberus
-Thalassophobia - My man hates open water and the ocean
-Gets severely seasick every time he's on a boat. Every. Time. Without fail.
-Avid people watcher, knows too much about everybody and sees more than he should
-Only sees his kids on facebook and knows nothing about them anymore
-Incredibly aloof
-Doesn't understand emotions because he has cut them off and suppressed them so long
-Fluent in about 10 languages, Arabic, Pashto, Farsi, Spanish, English, Hebrew, Swahili, Zulu, Yoruba, and Oromo but knows the basics of some Niger-Congo dialects as well

Needing to escape the reality that allows a close friend to ask me for ‘a take’ on the war. Honestly had to put down phone for a whole day like. Annoying to constantly have to psychically assert my perspective on things israel-Palestine because it’s illegal to have the thoughts that I have because they house a spec of nuance because I have some skin in the game, and that these very same hoes would never have the courage to ask something like that of an Arab. And I don’t even want to share my option on conflict cos like the people that ask don’t even fkn care they just want to tune their own perspective so they can seem intellectual to their peers because the popular modality at the moment is to be critical of 0-1 good bad binaries. But retardedly this modus operandi too misses the point of having an opinion on something, which is to be discerning and by default irrational. So sick of these fence sitting idiots trying to construct some coherent argument like without any opinion or like perspective or I don’t even know. No you don’t have to have an opinion on the war, in fact it’s probably better that you don’t. War sucks, it’s always justified, there’s no such thing as a legal or illigal war, the only crime in war is losing, the only difference between a soldier an innocent civilian is the uniform and kids are just future soldiers, Eradicating your enemy is always evil and always permitted, being weak doesn’t make you benevolent in fact being a savage is your only strength if you are weak. I don’t hope for anything anymore, I don’t believe in change, at this point my only will is to live my life with some degree of dignity. My family is fine for now, hopefully yours is too. If you feel inclined to care about this conflict go ahead but you’re dumb.
I don’t know maybe not. I just want it to end and I don’t people in Melbourne to ask me anything about it. I don’t have answers and anyone that does is probably wrong. I’m just so sad and many people are dying right now and I keep waiting for Lebanon to join in and fuck the north up which is where my family lives and then I will be even sadder and mourn their death and then I’ll never have to think about it ever again. I hope they leave and don’t come back, they probably hate me for being here. I’m pro nationalism on a cultural level but when shit hits the fan I’m fine with rat behaviour, we’re Jews, we’re good at that. I want my family to leave and start somewhere else. I want everyone to die there I want a lot of things to change. Fuck Palestine fuck Israel fuck you, let them annihilate each other let American and Iran start ww3, let a nuclear holocaust reap what it reaps, let humanity break and re build in an even more stupid orientation. Focus on small insignificant things like hunting, or the cold, or beauty, and love, and sit in a cave and reinvent writing and maths, and discover another version of god. Everything is permissible, world is written and rewritten, reality is reared in the image of its authors and when it’s your turn to hold the shit end of the stick you’ll probably hate it and try to flip the script.

I've Been Playing Postal 2 and I Have Some Thoughts
Since I am both trapped in COVID isolation and also incredibly timely and relevant to all things, I've been playing Postal 2 (2003) because it's something I've owned for a long time and only played once and also because my tiny notebook can't play much else.
I have some thoughts and reflections on it, don't expect anything groundbreaking or insightful here!
(cw: racism, homophobia, violence, abuse)
Recently I saw a post (that I am now failing to locate) that talked about how the punchline of South Park's comedy was largely pointed at one group of people: people who believe in something. It doesn't matter who they are or what they believe in, but if you believe in something strongly enough to have opinions or beliefs about them then you're worthy of derision.
I feel like Postal 2 - like many pieces of post-9/11 media - occupies exactly the same space as South Park does in this regard where the butt of the joke are really any people with strong beliefs, and also some racial minorities thrown in there for good measure.
(Side-bar: as someone who grew up in rural Canada in the post-9/11 era I can't help but notice that a lot of people who enjoyed this type of humor at the time the most tended to be of two categories:
Kids and teenagers who didn't have enough experience to know what they believed yet, but being rebellious teens anything edgy or shock-humory is inherently funny.
Centrists and Right moderates who enjoyed laughing at things like racial minorities and queer people. After all, when you're a member of the dominant social class who have the most power (i.e. white men) everything is much easier to shrug off as 'just a joke' when you have nothing actively threatened by this type of humor.
Inevitably kids who started in group 1 either grew out of this type of humor or turned into group 2 and made this humor their whole personality)
The game opens with some casual spousal abuse which I guess is supposed to be funny. The first enemies the game introduces to you are violent video game protestors, then book protestors, then 'al-Quaeda terrorists' (who all look exactly like Osama bin Laden)...you get the idea. There's an Asian man named "Cock Asian", an Indian man (I think he's supposed to be Arabic, but the assets they use surrounding him are definitely Indian as is his store's name) who runs a grocery store as a front for a terrorist organization, queer people, etc. Gary Coleman is in there for a bit. You can kill cats and dogs. It's all basically exactly what you'd expect from 'edgy 2003 game made by a group of white men'. It goes without saying that these people didn't even associate with any of these minorities when they made this game, because it's certainly not the kind of thing you make if you have any friends who are minorities - but that's just 2003 for you.
One thing that interests me is how apparently the developers and fans made a big deal about how "you don't need to do bad things in this game" and "any bad acts made in the game are by player choice".
Tumblr media
Why this is interesting is because by the basic design of the game this is obviously misleading: you're constantly presented with guns, bladed weapons, explosives, ammo, hallways full of enemies... While sure okay **technically** all the objectives are gated by arriving at a certain location, the paths there are littered with violence and people trying to kill you; there's really zero player incentive to act non-violently, so it sounds like an argument a child tries to make to get out of trouble. The player is given about 1000x more incentive to murder minorities in this game than they are to leave them alone, much less learn to love them. It's like saying you don't HAVE to drive if you're playing a racing game, except for the fact you're given a car and nothing else to do. It's sort of the primordial equivalent of Spec. Ops.: The Line's "How could you kill all these innocent people (that we forced you to kill)" angle. When all you're given is a hammer every problem looks like a nail.
The gameplay itself is.......fine I guess? Like it's honestly whatever. Sort of a really simplistic old-school GTA if all there was to do is fetch quests and kill people. The combat is by most accounts pretty substandard, and it doesn't do anything particularly well. I think there was maybe one joke that made me laugh only because it was so extreme and sterotypical that it came more from a place of "holy shit you actually thought this back then" as opposed to a place of comedy. I really wouldn't recommend it from a gameplay point of view even, there's really not much there and what is there is pretty thin.
In 2023 I don't know what I really gained from playing this. The reminder that the post-9/11 era was supremely fucked up and I'm glad that we're no longer making minorities the butt of every joke just because they exist, I guess? Yeah let's go with that.
The whole game just feels to me like something desperately fighting to prove its relevancy, and think if you made this game nowadays it would just be incredibly mediocre even by its own standards. Like it just wouldn't work by any stretch of the imagination.
Wait a minute...

Aswan, Egypt
At the Hospital, Medea sees the Crusaders entering the building from a nearby cafe and follows them.
She sees them at the front desk regarding the injuries they sustained from dealing with N'Doul and [Geb], walks past Iggy who's just chilling and eating coffee gum outside, unaware that he's a Stand user, and goes into the women's bathroom and hides in one of the stalls. Medea uses [Flogging Molly]'s hand googles as a x-ray spec to see past the walls.
Medea: ......... *Sees Kakyoin and Avdol being taken away by the doctors to the operating room, noticing the former's eyes are scarred up* Damn, [Geb] really messed him up badly, I feel kinda bad taking him out. *Takes out note book to write in* Note to self: "Never underestimate a Stand user with special needs." *Puts notebook away and spies out* ....Come on you gobshites, go away already.
Female patron: *Knocking on stall door*
Medea: (Arabic: "Occupied!") ...........*She continues to spy out until she sees them leave* Finally.... *She sneaks out of the bathroom, making sure the coast is clear. She goes to the elevators and hides in the maternity room near it* ................
Mother: *Pained screaming as she's going into labor*
Doctor: (Arabic: Hey you! Get out of here!)
Medea: *Leaves the room, embarrassed* (Arabic: I'm sorry! I'm sorry!) *Face palms as her Stand pats her head* Ugh, I lived in Egypt for a year and I still can't master the language to save my life... Uh oh! *Sees the Doctors with a now patched up Kakyoin on a stretcher bed, she thinks to herself:* "Good, he can't see me."
Doctor: (Arabic: Excuse us, Ms.)
Medea: *In a slightly pitched up voice so Kakyoin wouldn't recognize her voice* (Arabic: Yes, Doctor.) *Enters the elevator with them*
Kakyoin: *Wakes up* ......Hm? Where am I? Who's there?
Medea: *Nervous* ......(Arabic: I'm sorry, but I don't speak your language.)
Kakyoin: ..................
On the upper floor, Medea gets off and heads for the other side of the hall while Kakyoin's being taken to his room to rest in, she was pretending to look at the posters on the wall until the doctors leave his room. Soon enough, a couple of them did, she waited for a bit before making her move, but just as Medea was about to enter the room...
Intercom: (Arabic: Mr. Joestar, your friend Noriaki Kakyoin is ready to see you, the nurse will escort you.) ....*Translating* Mr. Joestar, your friend Noriaki Kakyoin is ready to see you, the nurse will escort you.
Medea: Oh shit! *Quickly hides in an empty bedroom nearby, she uses her Stand's hands as x-ray specs again to see the Crusaders arriving, they enter Kakyoin's room, it seems that only one doctor is still with him as well* Damn, I was so close to.
[Flogging Molly]: Kiru... kiru kiru... kiru...
Medea: *Sighs* I suppose your right, [Molly], it can't be helped. *She watches them chat inside* I swear you're a lot more patient than me. *She waits until the Crusaders are done talking with Kakyoin and the doctors*
Joseph: *To the nurse* Excuse me miss, do you know where Muhammad Avdol's room is?
Nurse: Oh yes, he's in the room underneath this one, just one floor down.
Joseph: Thanks. *He and the other two left to see Avdol.*
Medea:... Good, they're gone, but I can't just barge in yet, the doctor is still with Kakyoin and he needs to be asleep.
[Flogging Molly]: *Nods* Kiru...
Medea: *She watches him get comfortable in his bed, looking like he's about to go to take a nap. After a while, the doctors left and he looked sound asleep.* ...Alright, we're ready, now how to take him down without leaving any evidence? The poison's too corrosive... *Sees a nurse carrying a tray of clean syringes from room to room, smirking evilly, she snaps her fingers at [Flogging Molly] and pointed at the syringes*
[Flogging Molly]: *They flew out of the room to sneak a syringe from the tray while the nurse ain't looking, they returned to the room with it*
Medea: Excellent, prepare the "ammo".
[Flogging Molly]: *They provided a ball of "Drunken Lullaby", a very corrosive poison that can scar or kill enemies*
Medea: *Takes in the poison with the syringe* Thanks. Now let's do this. *She leaves the empty room with the syringe in hand and quietly enters Kakyoin's room, he was sleeping on his side* ........
Kakyoin: .......
Medea: *Medea can hear her heart beating, she takes a deep breath and walks towards the drip line connected to his hand, she plans to poison the line to put him into a sleep-like death, she thinks to herself:* Sweet dreams, Noriaki Kak- *Suddenly she felt like she stepped on string, it was colored green.* Eh-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH! *She was suddenly bombarded by chunks of emerald. Medea was ambushed by "Emerald Splash" from all directions, from behind, from the front, from above, from both sides, everywhere, it even destroyed the syringe in her hand, rendering her injection idea useless, she falls to the ground with a thud* GUH! *Coughing, she sits up and spits out blood from her mouth, and rubs her head. Her eyes widen when she came back to her senses and looks at Kakyoin who, despite being blinded, is looking straight at her, he was never asleep at all* ......Uhhhh........
Kakyoin: *Sits up* Let me guess: you're here to drop off some "get well" flowers for me?
Medea: Y-you knew I was coming!?
Kakyoin: You've been following us around across Asia for weeks, of course I knew you'd be here! Not to mention your voice acting's terrible, did you think I didn't recognize your Californian accent?
Medea: Baah *Stands up, staggers a bit* .....Well it doesn't matter anyway, smartass, you're gonna be the first one to die, and you have no vision or friends by your side to back you up. *The poison that was spilled began to form around her*
Kakyoin: *Smiles* Hm, I wouldn't be too sure about that, Medea. The "Emerald Splash" really made a lot of noise here, and it did shook up the room a little, I can even feel it shake up the floor beneath my bed.
Medea: What are you saying, Cherry boy? Don't mince words.
Kakyoin: *Points down, still smiling* Translation: Even if you manage to avoid the "Emerald Splash", the noise and tremors it caused would've alerted the guys beneath this room anyway.
Medea: WHAT!? *Hears running footsteps*
Kakyoin: Right on cue. *The 4 Crusaders busted through the door, seeing a roughed up Medea covered in bruises and emerald colored glitter*
Medea: O_O
Joseph: YOU AGAIN!?
Avdol: How did she know we're here?
Jotaro: *Annoyed* Goddammit, you just don't know when to quit, do you!?
Medea: Tch, *Making a thumb throat-slitting gesture* I'll quit when I make sure you Joestars dead.
Polnareff: *Summons [Silver Chariot]'s Rapier* Not if I can help it! *About to charge after her* HYAAAA! *Suddenly the poison shot up, melting the sword* SACRÉ BLEU!
Medea: I wouldn't do that if I were you, Polnareff. Did you even bother looking at your surroundings? *Points at their feet* That poison Kakyoin knocked out of my hand was a very big mistake on his end...
Jotaro: ???....*He looks down* Huh!?
Polnareff: That's what melted my Rapier!?.......*Moves the rapier over the poison again, it shot up and melted the sword more* GAH!
Joseph: Oh no! We're screwed!
Medea: *Evil smirk* That's right boys, you're all completely trapped by "Drunken Lullaby's" deadly embrace, and any move you guys make will only just spill your doom.
Jotaro: *Growls* Tch, you crazy bitch...
Kakyoin: *To himself* "This is bad, I have to do something, damn this blindness! .....Unless." *Out loud, grabbing her arm with [Hierophant Green]* Medea, Please! Just let them go, you came for me first, take me instead, I betrayed your Lord!
Medea: *Turns to him, feigning pouting* Sorry sweetie, but I'm afraid I can't do that now. *Moves [Hierophant Green]'s hand away* Lord DIO wanted some Joestar blood spilled and I don't wish to disappoint him. You're just going to have to wait your turn.
Avdol: *To himself* "What is he...wait." *Moves foot over the poison, nothing happens* "I see, Medea controls the poison when she's looking at us, and she's distracted!" *Pats Jotaro's shoulder*
Jotaro: ??? *Avdol whispers his discovery to his ear* ................. *Thumbs up, smirking*
Medea: *Ruffling Kakyoin's hair* I have to admit though, you're such a sweet boy taking the fall for the team like that, I almost feel bad about killing you ❤️
Kakyoin: *Grits teeth*
Medea: *Turns back to the rest of the group* Now where were we?
Jotaro: So you think you won huh?
Medea: Of course I won, Godzilla, your surrounded by the most corrosive material on the planet that reacts to any sort of movement, and there's nothing you or your precious Stands can do about it *snaps fingers*... That being said, any last words before you give yourself up to [Flogging Molly]?
Jotaro: ............... *Looks down on her body, then looks her in the eye while smirking* Yeah, I got a couple.
Medea: *Smirks* Fu fu fu~ Alright then, let's hear it.
Jotaro: .....*Claps hands together*
Medea: *Confused* Huh?
Jotaro: *Does a peace sign*
Joseph and Avdol: ?????????
Jotaro: *Does a ok sign*
Medea: What?
Polnareff: .....*Slow realization of what Jotaro's doing* /)OoO(\
Jotaro: *Salutes* The whole world can see it.
Polnareff: *Excited* OOOOOOOOOOOH! 8D
Avdol: *Looks away, blushing*
Joseph: *Face palm, dying on the inside* Oh my god.
Kakyoin: Did he just did what I think he did?
Polnareff: *Bouncing* HE DID! XD
Kakyoin: *Covers mouth*
Medea: *Even more confused* Did what? What's he looking at?...... *She looks at herself to see what he saw and sees that her baby pink colored panties are sticking out of her jeans, lace waistband and all* ....... *Blushes in embarrassment and shock* KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! *Covers herself* YOU PERVERT! *Tries to pull up her jeans, not looking at Jotaro* YOU HAVE NO RESPECT FOR WOMEN!
Jotaro: *Smirks, he summons [Star Platinum]*
[Star Platinum]: ORA!
Medea: *Turns to see [Star Platinum]'s fist before getting punched* GYAAAAAAH! *Goes flying through the window* [FLOGGING MOLLY]!
[Flogging Molly]: KIRU! *Grabs the ledge, dragging Medea back up the window sill*
Medea: *Hanging there, panting* .............. *Climbs back up, she looks up to see Jotaro standing over her, staring down at her* Uh oh...
Jotaro: ........ *Grabs her by her hips*
Medea: EEP! *Gets picked up with ease*
Jotaro: I have just about enough of your bullshit, Medea. *Throws her over his shoulder*
Medea: HEY!
Jotaro: I got special plans for you. *Walks out of the room* See ya later, you two.
Medea: *Starts kicking and punching* Put me down! (Irish: You're gonna pay for this you fat gorilla!)
Joseph: *Pats Avdol's and Kakyoin's backs* Get better soon, guys.
Polnareff: *Hugs Kakyoin* (French: Thank you! You saved us the trouble)! *Follows Jotaro and Joseph*
Kakyoin: It's no trouble.
Avdol: *To Kakyoin* Good thinking there, distracting Medea.
Kakyoin: It was just pure luck.
Medea: *Summons [Flogging Molly]'s blades* Let me go, you bastard! *About to stab him before [Star Platinum] holds her arms down* Ugh!
Jotaro: *Annoyed* Good grief...
Polnareff: *To Medea, jokingly* You're our friend now! We're having soft tacos later!
Jotaro: If this keeps up, people are gonna think we're kidnappers.
Joseph: Who cares, we're finally giving this little witch the justice she deserves. Besides, Medea's one of DIO's closest servants, maybe she could be useful to us!

I actually made this Incorrect Quote in January 22 this year, but I never uploaded it here because I was worried about how I handled the language, but I decided to go back and fix it before posting it here.
Some of the parts in the old version felt kinda cringe to me, as well as seeing more of the anime to get it accurate, so I went back to fix some of it as well.

Best Dive Watches Under $2,000 in 2024
Finding the best Dive watches under $2,000 can be easy as  Today's watches perform well and look fancy and classy when worn on the wrist.
We researched the market to summarize the best dive watches for under 2,000 dollars. In terms of style or capacity, these are mostly worn and injured and are worth passing on to people in the future. So, let's look at the best Dive watches under $2,000 in 2024.
Best Dive Watches Under $2,000 2024
1. Longines Legend Diver Automatic Men's Watch
The Longines Legend Diver is our first choice among the best Dive watches under $2,000. It instantly caught my eye and has not left my head since. The Longines company is known for making high-quality Swiss watches. Although not as famous today as Patek,  Rolex, or Audemars, Piguet Longines was one of the most prestigious watchmakers across Switzerland.
The Longines Legend Diver features a polished stainless steel case with a diameter of 36 mm, a black dial, polished silver-plated hands, and a well-placed date window.
The polished case has an automatic in-house L592 caliber with a date function and a power reserve of 45 hours. The iconic diver wears a black leather strap that perfectly complements the case.
Its design, movement, and water resistance of up to 300 meters make it an excellent watch for the avid underwater explorer.
Overall, Longines did a great job. Taking the iconic dive watch from the 1960s and upgrading it with a stylish case and stunning movement was an excellent choice, making it a real winner.
Compared to other Dive watches with similar specs and shapes, the price of around $1,760 is very reasonable. So, if you want a diving watch for about $2,000, this is an excellent choice in 2024.

2. Longines HydroConquest Automatic
Keep using Longines and HydroConquest. Founded in 1832, Longines in the small Swiss town of Saint-Imier is renowned for its high-quality Swiss watchmaking. HydroConquest is a top-rated dive watch that features a brushed stainless steel case with a diameter of 41 mm, a thickness of 11.9 mm, and a lug-to-lug length of —designed for the modern era of watchmaking.
The Longines Hydroconquest features a matte green dial with Arabic numerals and indexes, polished hands, and a date window at 3 o'clock. The copper-colored ceramic bezel that matches the green color of the dial looks fantastic outdoors in sunlight; a stainless steel bracelet combines brushed and polished links to create a very interesting, complementing the brushed case look.
This diver's watch has a water-resistant screw-down crown up to 300 meters. Inside the case, it surpasses the self-winding L888 movement, which offers a speed of 25,200 BPH and a power reserve of around 72 hours—the L888 is a very stable movement, combining modern components with classic watchmaking techniques.
The HydroConquest is the best automatic dive watch with great movement, design, and finish. You can get it in 2024 for under $2,000.

3. CASIO G-SHOCK Master of G FROGMAN
The CASIO G-SHOCK Master of G FROGMAN multi-band 6 GWF D1000B-1 JF Mis en's specially imported from Japan. The Casio G-Shock is worth buying under $2,000 if you need an extremely durable and reliable diving watch. In that respect, it is very cheap. The Casio G-Shock may not be as stylish as most dive watches. But when it comes to quality, you can count on a G-SHOCK watch; it's ruggedness.
This is evident in the stainless steel case, carbon fiber, band, and impact resistance proper, which make the Casio G-Shock stand out because it charges via solar energy, which frees you from the hassle of buying batteries frequently. It also has outdoor features like atomic time measurement, tide information, moon phase calendar, water resistance to 200 meters, and much more.
It's true that when it comes to a watch with a sturdy, sporty look, it is worth more than its price. The Casio G-Shock offers rich features, incredible durability, and an affordable price that any divers can easily understand.

4. Oris Divers Heritage Sixty-Five
The fourth place on this list of best watches for diving is the Oris and Divers Sixty-Five models. Inspired by Oris' iconic dive watch released in 1965, the revival version features distinctive vintage design details and has been a hit in the watch industry since its launch. The success of this particular mindset reflects the current status of the Oris brand.
Over the past century, Oris has specialized in creating luxury Swiss watches that offer an affordable price tag compared to other Swiss watch brands.
For under 2000 dollars, Oris Divers Sixty-Five features a polished stainless steel case; this watch is 36mm in diameter, 12mm thick, and 42mm lug to lug. And I'm thrilled that they made this beautiful watch in a very wearable size.
I'd be offended if the 43mm watch had a vintage design. The vintage design aspect is visible on the slim bezel and black with beige/faux-patina hour markers, straight hands, an internal minute indicator, and a date window at 3 o'clock.
In addition to having an excellent design, the Divers 65 also has a lot of influence when it comes to interiors. Powered by the automatic Oris 733 (base SW 200-1) movement, this watch has a power reserve of 38 hours, and frankly, there is still room for improvement. But aside from these little details, the look offers a lot of value for its $2,000 price tag.

5. Oris Aquis Date Watch with swiss-Made
Oris designed this watch to make it as close to a diving tool as possible without sacrificing look and feel. And I think they succeeded. The moderately sized 39.5mm case is made of stainless steel to ensure durability even when the water is moved out and tapped in the wild. The black ceramic bezel adds durability and luxury to the look simultaneously.
You know it's better quality than a regular minimum bezel, and it's so shiny and pretty. This watch has an automatic Oris 733 movement based on Sellita's SW 200-1 caliber. Ttrainingent combined with the sturdy case gives it a water-resistance certificate of up to 300 meters, once again proving that this watch was built for underwater exploration.
Oris insists that the watch is perfectly wearable when you go to the city and enjoy your coffee. And with a reasonably sized 39.5mm case, this statement is very believable. And if you have a watch there, they will give you $2,000 back. However, given all the specs, movement, and overall finish it offers, you'll find this price very affordable.

6. TAG Heuer Men's Dive Watch
Complementing the stainless steel strap and case, the beautiful blue dial provides a luxurious and elegant look that watch lovers will love. Despite being a sub $2000 diving watch, the design is of a much more expensive watch. However, the TAG Heuer outshines most diving protects thanks to its 300m water resistance rating.
You might think that a 200m water-resistant watch can offer similar performance, but if you want a severe underwater diving experience and long d, living the extra 100m is a valuable quality.
With a unidirectional rotating bezel, Swiss-made movement, shiny hands, and sapphire crystal windows, this watch is excellent if you are looking for outstanding diving performance and stylish appeal in one package.

7. Seiko Prospex Made in Japan
The PROSPEX Marine Master is a watch sold exclusively by the Seiko brand. It has a case diameter of 48 cm, antely precise 7-jewel 7C46 movement. Antimagnetic Lumi Brite for low-light or underwater visibility and day and date display.
Its main feature is that it can withstand water up to 300m and be worn in any deep activity. This watch is worth buying for diving under $2,000.

8. Seiko Prospex SPB143
The Seiko Prospex SPB143 features a durable stainless steel case measuring 40.5mm in diameter, 13.2mm thick, and 47.5mm lug to lug. Many blogs, magazines, YouTubers, and content creators recommend this best dive watch. This watch deserves to be included on this list.
The combination of case diameter and reasonable lug-to-lug distance makes wearing this watch an absolute pleasure. Especially if you consider other Dive watches from Seiko, which measure 44mm and are 52.4mm in diameter.
In comparison, the 40.5mm of the Prospex SPB143 looks small. The simple polished case features a curved sapphire crystal, LumiBrite coating, and a screw-down crown. The brown/grey sunburst dial and black unidirectional rotating bezel complement the point nicely. The SPB143's dial is kept as simple as possible in a true diver's manner, ensuring high legibility even when submerged in numerous waters.
The diver's signature bezel and LumiBrite coating on the hands, indexes, and bezel add to the watch's diving capabilities. Powered by the automatic Seiko 6R35 movement, the Seiko SPB143 provides a power reserve of approximately 70 hours and an accuracy of +25 to 15 seconds per day.
As mentioned above, the Seiko Prospex SBP143 offers a lot for you. The watch will make you happy, whether it's its proportions, design, or a well-executed movement.

How to buy the best dive watch?
The ideal watch for a diver is not as simple as choosing a look labeled "diver." Measuring the absolute reliability and merits of a diving watch comes with some of the essential elements:
1. Material
This is something to consider when you hardly care what watch style you buy. There are many options, among which stainless steel is more popular. The material selection comes down to two main factors: preference and 2nd price.
Better materials, such as titanium or ceramics (ceramics), are more expensive but have additional special rewards, such as greater remarkable robustness or lighter weight. When choosing your next dive watch, weigh the pros and cons and be fabulous and stylish.
Materials such as stainless steel (for bands and cases) and nylon, silicone, or rubber (forbears) are standard and usually inexpensive.
2. Waterproof
Buying a watch with adequate water resistance is very important to the performance of any dive watch. However, there are specific depths or meters an eye can reach. Considering that the water resistance rating is the most critical aspect of a dive watch, the minimum water resistance rating is 100 m or 330 feet.
If you want a diver's watch with serious diving performance, choose a watch with a water resistance rating of 300m or the ISO 6425 standard. Finding the ISO 6425 standard is also a great way to know that your eye can handle pressure and depth without breaking.
3. Movement
Dive watches are currently available and have three types of movements. There are usually manual, automatic, or quartz movements.
This movement is more common in high-end, better-quality, and high-end dive watches. With the craftsmanship only skilled and experienced watchmakers can afford, we invest much time in creating a single look.
Every little detail is meticulously researched with precision engineering. This is one of the many reasons many watch collectors and divers want to own an automatic diving watch.
The movement is the heart of every watch and is.
Manual: Manual movements are entirely mechanical and require extremely meticulous craftsmanship. This is why it is often the movement of choice for highly respected watchmakers.
The energy of the winding spring is used to power the watch, some of which require winding every day, while others can run for several days (depending on the size of the power reserve).
Automatic: Automatic movements are similar to manual activities in craftsmanship, but the wrist movement actuates the spring. This way, you won't have to manually wind your watch unless you've worn it for a while.
Quartz: Quartz movements use battery power to track time and are known to be the most accurate movement type. Battery life varies but typically lasts 10 to 24 months before needing replacement.
These days, there are solar-powered quartz watches on the market that can be charged by sunlight, so you may never (or rarely) need to replace the battery.
4. Easy readability
Another factor to consider is the visibility of the watch dial underwater. After all, readability is the best ability. The deeper the sea, the darker and murky it will become. As a result, the dive watch must maintain consistent clarity throughout the dive session. When in doubt, look for a watch with luminous hands or a watch that glows in the dark.
5. Accuracy
Accuracy is not just about accuracy. It's also mostly about functional longevity. The most common movements are quartz, solar (powered by light), automatic (no winding required), digital, and kinetic.
It is difficult to say that this is the best company of all movement tutors, but an accuracy class capable of resisting a magnetic field of 4,800 A/m is a good criterion.
6. Price
I agree. It would be best to think about this when you hardly care what style you'll buy. There are many options, among which stainless steel is more popular.
The material selection comes down to two main factors: preference and price. Better materials, such as titanium or pottery ceramics, are more expensive but have the added special reward of more remarkable robustness or lighter weight.
You need to weigh the pros and cons of decisions and be great and stylish when choosing your next dive watch. Materials such as stainless steel for bands and cases and nylon, silicone, or rubber for bands are generally regular and inexpensive.
7. Long-lasting battery life
The worst-case scenario to avoid is a random shutting down of the diver's watch during a dive session. Make sure the Dive watch you choose is configured for reliable battery life. If you plan to use a battery-operated clock, prepare a spare battery. Fortunately, some diver's watches use mechanical movements that require no charging or battery replacement.
Frequently Asked Questions about Dive Watches
Here are some questions to consider when choosing a diver's watch.
How should I care for my Dive watch?
It doesn't take much effort to care for your watch, so it will continue to be used for generations. Just follow these simple steps.
After each Dive, rinse at home with fresh water to remove salt or chemical residues.
Turn the unidirectional bezel to clear any debris from the watch dial.
In saunas, hot tubs, and jacuzzis, heat causes the rubber seal inside the watch to expand, reducing its water resistance and ensuring that the crown is secure before leaving and does not interfere with the peak during the Dive.
Keep your Dive watch away from chemicals that can damage the dive watch plating and make it less resistant to corrosion.
Why should a dive watch have a unidirectional bezel?
One of the integrated watch parts is the unidirectional bezel. An overlooked but essential component. Its role is to check the oxygen remaining in the scuba diving tank.
Before going under, ensure that the bezel marker is aligned with the minute hand for accurate results.
In addition, anti-reverse exercises should be applied to avoid miscalculations and discrepancies with expected readings and residual oxygen.
What watches do navy divers wear?
Seiko dive watches have been the favorites of many underwater diving and mission operators. They are known for being durable, reliable, and easy to read. For this reason, it is frequently purchased and issued by Navy SEALs and other special operations forces.
What is Marine Military Watch?
The Government Marine Watch is a unique watch made under government guidelines for military personnel. This marine military watch has exceptional security to protect your data and is used underwater.
What watches do actual divers wear?
Especially high-heeled Swiss watches experienced divers wear.

17
