Bvlgari Aqva Marine
The ocean, has a special place in my heart. As a child, my parents used to take me to the ocean more than they'd take me anywhere else. The ocean, where all the middle class families go to during their vacation. Munching on ice-orathi (read shaved ice in pickled water and sugar syrup), icecreams, flying kites or just walking by the shore, letting the waves wash up on our feet and getting excited everytime the sea gets stronger.
As I grew older, the ocean changed as well for me. It was no longer an association of just happy feelings. Sometimes the ocean would be witness to my sorrows. A comforting friend, in those dark times with it's salty wind, that would envelope me in a hug. Almost as though, telling me that everything is going to be alright.
Bvlgari's Aqva Marine is that for me. That salty little gust of wind, that comforts me. It is no complex scent, and it stays true to the way it starts off. It truly is the ocean in a bottle for me, in every sense there is.
But while I do cherish this scent, I've also grown out of it. Being away from home for so long, away from the ocean. The ocean, now no longer comforts me. Each time I visit my hometown, I drive down to meet her. We shake hands, share hugs but we know that we both have moved on from what we used to be. I am no longer the boy that used to cry in her arms, and she, no longer the calm, soft gust of wind I remember. But that's alright, because all good things have an end.
Now that we have personification out of the way, let's rate this perfume as would any sane enthusiast.
For anyone looking for ocean in a bottle, look no further. This smells exactly like what it would've smelt to you, if you have experienced walking by the shore of the sea. The seaweed note here might cause a little polarity in terms of perception, but only because some noses perceive seaweed notes as rotten eggs. So if you are going to get this, give it a try beforehand to understand how good the scent smells to you.
The longevity, is poor. But that also comes from the fact that what replaced this scent for me is a Mancera. One spray of that was enough for me to have the projection, sillage and longevity I get from spraying 6 to 10 sprays of this.
While I cherish this scent, I don't know if I'll ever get a bottle of this. I might, for the sheer nostalgia it puts me through but I doubt nostalgia is worth 5k. I'm still in the process of figuring out if or not I want to buy this scent at all, solely because of the sheer lack of performance. But, chances are, I might.
Scent : A solid 9/10.
Only giving it a 9 because the seaweed note only works in extreme heat. The moment the temperature drops, the seaweed note turns into a headache. Atleast for me.
Longevity: 6/10
I've seen freshies that perform worse, but this certainly outlasts most of them. I'll give it a good 4 hours, maybe 3. Compared to the Mancera that replaced this scent for me, it really is a bad performer.
Projection: 6/10
I can't seem to understand how people seem to predict projection in terms of feet. But to me this is alright in terms of projection. It stays close to the skin, but also projects just enough that someone enters into a conversationable distance with you, they can smell it.
Sillage: 5/10
Not a lot of sillage. I don't think I leave a trail at all.

Persona 3 magic circle
I know this isn’t a “Kaneko” crib. I just wanted to share this and don’t know a better place for it.
A while back I got curious about the magic circle that appeared in Persona 3 and 4 during fusion. Here it is:

The text seems to be taken from several alchemical emblems in Sylva philosophorum, only transcribed in Greek letters instead of Latin (though I have trouble identifying the letter representing Latin "V/U").
The outer circle reads | DEVS EST TRINVS | ET VNVS | SANKTVS | PATER | FILIVS | SPIRITVS SANCT | ET OMNIA IN | OMNIBVS |
Not sure if this set is meant to be read in any particular order, but it is borrowed from this take on Shield of Trinity:
The four points of the central cross are the four classical elements. Together with words on the cross’s lines they form pairs:
AQVA - MASCVLINA
TERRA - ACTIVA
IGNIS - FAMININA
AER - NON EST (this one’s weird; you’d expect PASSIVA here… and even so, not a single adjective would be paired with either of the elements it supposedly describes)
The placement of classic elements in a cross and the words in the inner hexagram (PLANE, COMBINATIO, POSSIBILIS, PLANE, CONTRARIA, OMNINI) can be found here:
OMNINI seems to be a typo, as the word in the diagram reads OMNINO.
Finally, the corners of the overlapping squares have traditional astronomical symbols for celestial bodies associated with metals:

There is one symbol that I couldn’t figure out. Looks a bit like a merger of Salt (🜔) and Sulfur (🜍) symbols. I guess they wanted to have all the astronomical symbols and the three primes, but with Mercury being shared between the two that still left nine symbols for eight spots.
As for why go to alchemy in the first place:
Jung wrote about the relevancy of alchemical symbols in psychoanalytical process.
One of proposed etymologies for “alchemy” claims descent from Late Greek khēm(e)ía (χημ(ε)ία) meaning “to fuse or cast a metal”, and fusion is what you do when this circle appears.
That’s all I have for this. I hope at least something here is factually correct. And sorry if I messed up something here, I have no idea how Tumblr works.

I looked in my own alchemy books for a match but found none. I have a feeling that the Persona seal is an original, albeit based on existing ones, particularly the latter example.
An exact match could still turn up; Tingkat was found to be real, after all. But even if it does, I think you’ll find that no effort was made for the game function (i.e., fusion) to follow the original significance of the diagram. For example, the Seal of God appears in Nocturne:
It allegedly has power over nature/animals and is written with names of God and angels. But that’s probably not what was happening in the hospital room where you can see blood on the examining table nor as Baphomet is summoning Mara. In the Baphomet screenshot you can see that all of the text of the seal has been replaced with the same glyphs that are on the Amala drums:
This effectively wipes most of the magical potency away from the seal. And if they did this for Nocturne, the Persona one was probably created in the same way, so I wouldn’t put much stock into it. These seals and sigils in MT games are mostly there to look cool and/or ‘occult.’ And maybe that’s all they should be, because an ‘accurate’ simulation of a summoning or ritual wouldn’t be much fun.
