april!! I was thinking about you recently and wondering what you were up to because I hadn't heard from you in a while!

also yes it has somehow been an entire year. at least since it was first published. the au has been being written an contemplated for far longer than that and the idea was conceived before the pandemic even started. so it has truly taken over my life and I know no escape from it /lh

also don't worry about not being caught up!! honestly I don't even know if there's anyone who is. if there are, I haven't heard from them at all. I can see the number of hits go up whenever I post a new chapter, but aside from that I've got no clue if anyone reads the updates. it's mainly just me vibing in my head with the story and posting it in case anyone wants to see it

I hope whatever you're into right now is satisfying and enjoyable to you!!

Hi there. So I read your tags on an other post and thought I would give you challenge.

What were your 10 (or really how many you want) favourite locations in 2023 QLs? Can be places or buildings, or both. Your choice. Rose💜

I referred to MDL and so I've only included shows that started in 2023 and to keep this under Tumblr's maximum of 30 images, so I didn't include all screenshots for shared locations!

Anyway, these are my favourite QL locations from 2023:

1. Chong Nonsi Canal Park (Bed Friend, Chains of Heart and The Promise) (location) Shout out to @winnythanawin (aka @aprilblossomgirl) for our discussions about parks lol

2. The timber mill (Chains of Heart) I love wide angle and maximalist shots, so this location has been stuck in my mind.

3. Thai Muslim Women Foundation School (My Dear Gangster Oppa, Y-Destiny, Return Man, 55:15 Never Too Late, Midnight Motel, Never Let Me Go and My Only 12%) (location) I love that the building has specific motifs that are seen in other Islamic architecture. But also, an excessive number of chandeliers is always fun to me. (There are also far too many shared locations, so I picked only a few screenshots).

4. Chakngeaw Chinese Market (Moonlight Chicken) (location) Maybe it's the lanterns and the colours in the scenes, but I loved this location!

5. Como Metropolian Bangkok (Step by Step and Middleman's Love) (location) I described this as a Pride & Prejudice moment once. LOOK AT THE HUGE WINDOWS. That is all, lol

6. 13 Coins Tower Ngamwongwan (Playboyy and 3 Will Be Free) (location) I cannot explain how the slightly dead and uninhabited vibes of this hotel appeal to me but here we are 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♂️🤷

7. The houses (I Feel You Linger in the Air) (location, location) These details are *everything*. I'm especially a fan of the windows and stained glass!

8. Factopia (Pit Babe) (location) One thing about me is that I am chaotic. Look at this studio that's being used as a home. I love it lol

9. These two temples (Cherry Magic Thailand) (locations) The boat is selling the whole idea for me, though I've been told that there isn't actually a boat operating in these canals anymore, but let me imagine it!

10. Chao Phraya Sky Park (Last Twilight and Low Frequency Pilot Trailer) (location to come) I have actually been waiting to see this bridge/park used and was so excited to see it in Low Frequency's pilot trailer, though it didn't make it to the show. THEN Last Twilight showed up for me. Thank you to the location manager of the show.

11. Tokyo Tower (Shigatsu no Tokyo wa... / Tokyo in April is...) Please ignore how bad Ren looks in the screenshot. I don't care that only the base of my favourite tower can be seen. I'm taking it!!!

12. Whatever this building is (Pit Babe) I mean, I AM CURIOUS about it but haven't found the location. Maybe that's why I'm obsessing a little. Just let me find the location and I will get over it. Probably.

PERSONALITY: Suppapong, or as everyone calls him by Thai custom Saint, is a very driven individual and it shows in everything he does. Almost everything has a goal, whether it is choosing his food, declining your request of him or moving to the other side of the world. He always has a reason and he rarely gives up on his goals. He wants to make his family proud of him and strives to be the best. Not just as a figure skater but in general as a person he wants to be complimented and told he did well. Even so, it is undeniable that the man has a side of arrogance. However he sees it as something that even though it has its negative effects, if he controls it well is a perfect drive to keep him going further and further till he reaches the top. That and his rivalry with others. He can be prickly and impatient with things he doesn’t think worth his time yet he has the patience and focus to repeat one thing over and over again at training till he gets it just right. Though, faster is better. He considers himself unlucky but in reality he might often be the cause of his own misfortune. His highly demanding personality spills over into his personal life and surroundings, making it often hard for him to mix well with people who don’t have a similar mindset of working towards a goal. Add on to that his charisma and he can come across intimidating to some. But those who know him well enough are aware there’s a whole different side underneath. The brightest laughter and the most caring friend you can wish for. Crawling and clawing yourself to that spot however is not easy. But when you get there, he might just drop his guards and relax for once and you’ll see the Saint that doesn’t just act nice for the sake of it but who is actually warm and kind-hearted.

HISTORY: Born an only son of a resort owner on Koh Chang island in the Trat province of Thailand Suppapong, nicknamed Saint, never had too much to wish for in his childhood when it came to material things. The resort did well but as a result thereof and his mother’s wish for her son to excel he did not live on the beautiful island for long. Instead the boy was sent off, encouraged (made to) try many things to find his niche he could reach the top in. His mother wasn’t unkind, gods no, but she was determined in her wanting the best for her son. She saw finding your talents and excelling in them as the goal in life and as such created that life for Saint. His father was Horus, the Egyptian god who had a similar perfectionist attitude in the things he did. The boy never complained, always having seen it as normal for him and that he was made to excel, to make his parents proud. And eventually, in a local city they found something. It started with inline skating. Saint practically flew on the skates and in a short time through his joy and passion for the sport was doing tricks. The watchful eye of his ‘caretaker’, Aawut Ritthirong, who’d been with him throughout this search for his talent immediately saw it. He added to it. He had seen Saint excel in controlling his body and movements and knew exactly where to bring him. One flight to the capital Bangkok later and a scheduled training with a private coach they found it. Figure skating. Not only did it match the boy his interests and talents, it was also a prestigious sport.   Fast forward one year to the age of 7 and the young Thai child arrives in an unfamiliar country with just his caretaker and one suitcase full of clothes and personal belongings. Everything arranged for him there to become who he needs to be. In Paris he begins training to become a professional, and this is where he meets a lifelong rival and friend. Timothée Valère Iver. The two boys are both the opposite and same poles of a magnet. At times attracting and at others repulsing one another. And it made for a very fruitful training environment, especially for Saint. Not only that, for the Thai demigod it was also a social experience and a relationship that eventually opens his eyes to more. Nothing is meant to last though and at 14 he is sat in a plane again with a suitcase, moved across the globe to Seoul this time to train with a new coach. Through his years he perfects his English and learns relatively well French and Korean, good enough to get him through most conversations. Most of all of course, he soars as a talent in the world of figure skating, dominating the field of youth competitions alongside Timothée. But it has a shadow side as between the two, one of them shines just that bit more. And it’s aggravating, to know how hard he works and seeing his rival take the majority of first places. However, Saint is determined to overcome him and to be the pride of their family his parents wish for. Or so he thinks they do. Countless days and nights are spent training to the point coaches, fellow athletes and friends try to stop him before he overworks himself. The blisters on his feet are endless but he skates through them and when he makes a mistake and falls or creates a wound on his legs or hands on accident he covers it with bandages and continues on as if nothing had happened. He suffers injuries because of it and from simply being unlucky at times, yet pulls himself out of them quickly. But it all doesn’t matter, because his rival remains to be above him. He makes it look so easy, something he could never achieve. At times the injuries and fatigue lead him to ‘bomb’ a competition in his own eyes, having to be satisfied with a 3rd or even 5th place. Unthinkable in his head, and his phone calls with his father every other week do not help. Everytime he asks about a competition and Saint has to tell him he didn’t come in first a piece of him turns black and rotten. He just wants to make them proud, but until he can win those competitions he can’t. Time distances him from them, unable to open up to his parents. To not even mention his inability to manifest wings like his father and half-brother are able to. Eventually, down a spiral of greed for success in his sport and auto-aggression focused on his high demands on himself he is urged by a manager to take the offer for a magazine shoot and interview. He does it and finds it’s addicting. Having people fuss over him, giving him whatever he wants and not even minding when he’s being arrogant, not to mention the responses on it afterwards when it is published. And slowly but surely he begins taking more and more of these jobs where he can fit it in his schedule, even appearing on entertainment shows. Despite the fact he still never misses a single day of training, those surrounding him see his arrogance grow more outward. Where it had been a driving force when it had been inward, it was now becoming something bigger that others had to deal with as well. Yet with his natural charisma and glorified attitude as the hard-worker they’re willing to accept it of him. That is until his mother calls, having heard and seen her sons changes. His caretaker still reported all his daily activities to her and tells her he’s worried he will be overdoing himself to the point of fainting or worse. She thinks the same and that it’s a distraction as she worries he has given up. And maybe a part of him had. She pulls him back and with another call to his father the young man is sent off once more in his existence, this time to live a more reclused life on Mount Phoenix. The only reason he complies is because it’s his parents, and because his rival just so happens to be training there too. He will be the best.

Der Aussichtspunkt blickt in die eine Richtung auf die Andamanensee und in die andere Richtung auf die drei Westküstenstrände auf der anderen Seite der Insel. 6. Einen Ausflug nach Wat Chalong

Seit über einem Jahrhundert ist der Wat Chalong-Tempel für Besucher von überall her geöffnet, und bei Ihrer Ankunft gibt es hier viel zu sehen. Von der insgesamt schönen Außenseite des Tempels kann man auch den Poh Jao Wat (Wat bedeutet auf thailändisch Tempel) sehen, der zwei Statuen älterer Männer beherbergt - den Ta Khee Lek und den Nonsi. Die Legende besagt, dass Ta Khee Lek beim Besuch dieses Tempels Glück hatte, da er viele Lotterien gewonnen hat. Der Höhepunkt Ihres Besuchs wird die Große Pagode sein, die einen kleinen Splitter aus dem Knochen von Lord Buddha enthält. Die Pagode ist wunderschön mit Buddha-Bildern geschmückt, die sein Leben und seine Geschichte darstellen.

7. Thai Kochkurs

Die thailändische Küche kann einer der vielen Gründe sein, warum Sie nach Thailand reisen. Phuket hat so viele verschiedene Orte, an denen Kochkurse angeboten werden. Hey Quil!

I was just curious if you had done any April Fools jokes on people yesterday, or if you had any pranks played on you (online or in person.) I saw the booping thing and it looked really fun!

I wasn’t able to do anything major, but I did do a few minor pranks, including:

trying to convince someone that it was actually March 32 and we got an extra day of March because April was so short (and then they realized it was a leap year)

switching the language on one of my family member’s phones to French (I did end up learning some new words!)

pretending to see a gigantic seagull outside (makes slightly more sense in context)

Anyway, happy April! I’m wishing you good luck with all of your schoolwork! (Also I’m emotionally time traveling to boop you!)

Hi, Amethyst! I did not play any april fools jokes nor have any played on me outside of the booping. I must confess that I forgot both that it was april fools and that pranking people on april fools was a thing. It did not occur to me in the slightest

Instead I spent most of the day finalizing my homework before the week started (my weeks start on Tuesday this semester). So I’m glad you got to play some pranks!

Love the language one! Though I’m sure that’s no surprise. Are you studying French? I took 2 semesters in order to get my associates in Spanish, but I have forgotten practically everything. i think I still mostly know how to properly pronounce things though, but then again that’s just a general strength of mine when learning new languages (so far).

Happy April to you too! Thank you for the luck; I’ve got a few bigger things I need to knock out, so here’s hoping it goes relatively smooth. And I hope your schoolwork foes well, too!

as a kotlc fan who is also a locked tomb fan. yeah you should read tlt. particularly with how cursed you tend to make things, i think you’d enjoy it. also I need to spread propaganda lol.

welp, guess I'm adding it to my very long tbr! I have no clue when I'll get to it, but I will! gotta say I have no clue what this series is about even in the slightest and I'd like to keep it that way. hi! i’m pretty sure you don’t remember me because it’s been like three months since i’ve looked at anything kotlc related lol. but anyways, earlier this year (march maybe?) there was an anon on your blog who went by the name april and gave you a couple asks about tiana and sotam. that was me. idk why i’m doing this and you don’t have to answer the ask but i just wanted to kinda say hi after a really long time and see how you were doing. -april

april! you're back! I remember you and wondered where you went. You sent me a few asks and then I never heard from you again until now and I hoped you were doing well. I didn't forget you at all!

It's so nice to see you again. When people give me names to associate with them it's easier to remember you and keep track of you, so when I don't get an ask from you for a while I think of you from time to time and hope everything is okay and that whatever reason you've disappeared is a good one. Not like, you need a good excuse to stop sending asks, just like "I hope the reason I'm not hearing from them is because they're doing really great irl and are focusing on themselves!!" I want you to be doing well!

as for me, I'm doing aright overall. Stressful real life situations at the moment that I can't escape but they're temporary, so just gotta get through them the best I can and keep moving forward. I'm almost 2/3rds of the way done with my intersession course! I'm taking a 15 week course condensed into 3 weeks over winter break, so that's what I've been doing with my mornings. it's not a hard class, just one I have to take to prove I know the contents, which I already do. Hmm, what else have I been doing...oh! My sister and I started watched the Fate winx saga adaptation thing (idk what to call it) and that has been an experience to say the least. We watched a lot of Winx club together as kids, so we're both just sitting there essentially yelling at the screen because of how different things are. Not that it's bad for a series to take inspiration from another and make it its own, it's just so different and we're both reacting to it. Like Stella character was completely unexpected and so different, a really unpleasant and entitled person compared to the happy, friendly, fashionable person she is in the animated show. And the Burned Ones??? Don't know what's up with that but it's new. That's getting off topic though

that's a little of how I've been doing and what's up with me at the moment!! well, the little details that aren't in the update posts i've made throughout the past few weeks about my grandma and all the talking I did in the tags about being in wisconsin for a few days. I hope you're doing alright!! It's so nice to hear from you again after so long, so thank you for that! april! well it's very nice to see you again, even though it appears your account has been deactivated in the few days it took me to answer this.

I do try to remember everyone and keep track of the different conversations that we have and what specific people like. It does help that it's all documented on this very tumblr and I can go back and find things (if I have the patience, seeing as the tagging system is not great). The specific energy that people generally bring does tend to stick as well, like the way you convey yourself in writing and how that translates. For example, I remember you being very exuberant and like...bouncy? I'm unsure how to describe it, but you had a presence with such a clear buoyancy and it was lovely.

also don't worry about being cringey, I think we're all like that! I know I certainly cringe at some of the old things on my blog that I've been meaning to go back and delete yet keep forgetting to. I think it also might be more prevalent in the kotlc fandom specifically because it is a younger fandom so a lot of people who join or interact do so when they're younger, then mature and stick around for a while yet have changed drastically over the course of their time in the fandom. A few months for someone in the kotlc fandom who's younger is gonna have a huge difference!! That's just my theory on it though.
