Why I think that Chapter 139 (AOT Ending) makes no sense
Yes. Actually it should come out to your ears, but I thought about the last chapter again and I wanted to share this with you. The story about Ymir Fritz: We knew from Ymir Fritz that she must have been around 14 years old when she was first seen. She was a slave and they had her tongue removed which is why she couldn't speak. When she released the pigs and was therefore hunted and finally fell into the tree, it was a sign of her desire for freedom.
When Zeke was about to go through with the euthanasia plan, Eren hugged Ymir and said she was free. She then followed Eren's plans instead of obeying the king's descendants as she has done over the years. The message was clear: Ymir is no longer a slave to the king.
Until then it was still logical. Ymir Fritz was actually a slave, even after her death. Only Eren could make it clear that she was FREE. But then the last chapter came and nothing made sense anymore.. Suddenly she had feelings for the king and suffered from her love for him for 2 millennia. Only Mikasa could change that. That also explains why she released the pigs and had no will to live. Above all, it never became clear why the ONE person was needed for Ymir to break free and find peace was. People. We talk about of thousend of years. No one can tell me there hasn't been someone who has loved like Mikasa before. Especially the scene in which Mikasa kisses Eren's severed head and Ymir stands next to him with a satisfied expression on his face terrifies me enormously. What's the point of having an impact with Mikasa when Ymir has practically applied herself by obeying Eren instead of Zeke? But the main thing was that you could unnecessarily add more love drama.
Tumblr media
Erens plan was...destruction: Eren's plan was to wipe out humanity away from paradise. It is clear why he did this. Paradise threatened to be wiped out from the world and it was evident that there would be no peaceful negotiations. So the goal was set and implemented with Ymir's help. Armin and Co. should stop him, kill him and become heroes so that paradise will be accepted by the world. So I thought... would be his plan. No. Eren's plan was to do whatever it took to get Mikasa to kill him in order to break the titancurse. But if he hadn't known that the curse could be broken in this way, he would still have killed the people. And he doesn't know why... Give him a good reason, PLEASE. Wouldn't the euthanasia plan or the plan to hold the attackers at bay with the Wall Titans have been better options than killng thousands of innocent people? Of course he didn't want to sacrifice Historia and the freedom of his people. Oh well. Eren seemed to want to save his people above all. I think it's a bit of a shame at this point, because he knew that there were also good people outside of paradise. Chadren ist real shit. xD He could have at least THINK about an alternative. Instead of: I don't know why. How EreMika ruined the ending: I personally feel that Eren's outburst of emotion about his love for Mikasa was quite inappropriate. But after all, the whole story should end like this, otherwise Isayama wouldn't have brought in the totally illogical part with Ymir's feelings for her tormentor and the illogicial story, that only Mikasa can end Ymirs lovesick pain. Mikasa is quite a tragic character. She was severely traumatized by the death of her parents and the subsequent death of her new family. It was only thanks to Eren that she didn't give up on herself and life completely. But the aftermath of her trauma is still felt. If you look at her quotes like this, you realize that she says a lot about the beauty and especially the cruelty of life. But "fighting" is also very common in their vocabulary. Eren, on the other hand, is not only the last part of her remaining family, but the one who always gave her support in bad situations. This is also the reason why she doesn't want Eren to put himself in danger and is very protective of him. Unfortunately, her fear of losing Eren gives her quite a bit of tunnel vision. Because of this, she puts herself and others at risk. It should be obvious that she is in love with him. Eren, on the other hand, never seemed to have more feelings for Mikasa, than he did for a good friend or sister. Isayama said he wanted Eren and Mikasa to kiss the moment they were attacked by the grinning titan, but I think that's nonsense. That would mean that he already had feelings for Mikasa at that point and was aware that she liked him too. Who else kisses their adoptive sister without being asked? No. He had to ask Mikasa and then Zeke if she loves him, nine years later so he could be sure. Especially because he should have known it, if he can see into the future. Most of all...why didn't he confess his love to her before kissing Historia's hand? No. From the reader's point of view, it really doesn't appear that Eren had feelings for Mikasa that went beyond sibling love. That's why the scene with Eren's emotional outburst was more than surprising and out of place. It just seemed forced. The whole chapter. ~*~ It just seemed like something had to be concocted to create extra love drama and still squeeze in the fact that Eren loved Mikasa so much. Otherwise you could have left it at Mikasa's kiss and then wrote the scene of the war ending and so on. It would have been a nice ending, because Mikasa was able to break free from her trauma and let Eren go. It would have been more logical, because Ymir would simply have been a slave and not a person with Stockholm Syndrome. And Isayama don´t need to have drawn a flashback in which Eren half-heartedly explains his behavior. That Ymir loved the king and it took Mikasa to break the curse and all the trappings were just out of place and made zero sense. Sorry.

Post ch. 139 Levi Thoughts
I wonder how life would be for Levi after the war, like how would he cope with everything? He most definitely has ptsd and then there are his injuries, not to mention how he probably feels like all he could do was fight. I mean that’s all he’s been doing since he was a kid, and now? The war is over, the titans are gone, and he has to use a wheelchair most of the time, what is he supposed to do? He may be good at hiding it but in the end, he’s scared, what if he’s completely useless now? Almost everyone he knows is dead and he’s used to having a family unit of sorts, his independence is mostly gone right now it it will take a while to get it back, so what does he do? No matter what he chooses he’ll know in the back of his head that domestic life isn’t for him, he’ll know that he’s meant to fight, and he’ll question what is he if not a soldier?

To confess, I’m not great at drawing eren.
Despite the amount of times I had drawn him, I still don’t fully get him. It could be that I’m too dumb or too much of a casual fan for deep analysis, but AOT has failed to conclude his character for me.
To me Eren is a deeply traumatized individual who failed to mature. He’s a self-righteous man child. But there’s also some ancient evil yadayada messing with his head that isayama couldn’t clear up it up for me, so at this point I still don’t know why eren committed rumbling.
Interestingly, this shows in my art HAHA.
Most of my eremin art is seen from armin’s POV, eren remains either a mystery or partially seen. Eren from Armin’s POV works better in my drawings bc he’s an incomplete character, a huge mystery even, he makes no sense to me sometimes, but above all he’s a symbol of doom and rage.
(“POV” is rather vague in illustrations esp when a lot of them can be objective. To me POV applies when the drawing leans toward one character’s bias, feelings, and how they see things.)
Here’s an example of Eren from Armin’s POV:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Altho one thing I understand for sure is his relationship with armin, the way he idolizes and adores him, putting him on the pedestrian (and doom him in the process)
My Eren’s POV art:

So, I took the time to watch the Attack on Titan finale today.....
Tumblr media
I don't know why, because everyone keeps saying that the anime ending was a huge step up from the manga's ending. Jeez, has it really been three years since that dropped the ball?
So I decided I needed to see for myself what it really changed, I had the time so I forced myself through it, to see what exactly the big deal all was; mostly what was different, and what it did that was so far removed from the comic.
Well I gotta admit, I was surprised by what I saw.
The animation was really impressive, much better than what I've seen of MAPPA's handiwork from the rest of this season. The whole thing just kept going bigger and bigger, and it just never seemed to slow down. It's definitely one of the most impressive battles of the series, especially when so much focus on fighting and ending the Titans seemed to be lost after so long. Plus I forgot how stunning MAPPA's backgrounds can be, almost like WIT's. I guess that's what you call "peak" in the anime circle now, huh?
Tumblr media
Levi......What can I say, he's an absolute badass, and the battle was worth it just to see him plow through Eren's army of Titans in all of his glory. Nothing can slow this guy down, and he definitely earned his ending. Sure he lost everyone who was near and dear to him but at least he can finally get some measure of peace. A much better finish than what the manga gave us, in its own weird way.
Was surprisingly touching to see the fallen Scouts again btw. Should have had Marco somewhere for Jean's sake, but maybe they can finally move on to a better place, wherever that may be.
Tumblr media
Well the Armin and Eren scene pulled no punches, did it? XD Bad puns aside, I was surprised at how emotionally charged that scene was, Eren seemed really sorry for everything. At least he finally owned up to it in the end. Such a shame he was left with so little choice in the end.
Tumblr media
And really, I realized how hard I was on Mikasa. She knew the life she thought she and Eren could have was beyond all hope, and in the end she made the right choice, agonizing as it was. In the end Mikasa really was too good for Eren, theirs is a love that was tragically cut short by circumstance. He couldn't help it, she couldn't help it.......Eremika truly is an unsung Shakespearean tragedy.
Oh don't you worry Eren, I'm sure she was thinking of you well beyond ten years. Who could fault her? We all know you meant well....
Tumblr media
So........now everyone's saying it took two thousand years if not more for this to happen, huh? Well I guess that sort of makes up for it.....At least nobody we knew and loved lived to see it, right? I guess we can stop blaming Eren for whatever brought this upon Paradis, right?
Tumblr media
Well, whatever the case may be, after finally seeing it I can say the anime ending makes up for a lot of what the manga left hanging. Great animation, such raw emotions, the insane music.......It was a long slog, but I'm glad I was proven wrong about everything I have said since the manga ending came out. This really helped to tie everything together much better, made the loss of such a wondrous cast a little easier to swallow. In the end, they gave their hearts, and in the end, it's much better to feeling something than to feel nothing.
So kudos to Studio MAPPA, and kudos to Hajime Isayama, truly I underestimated you. I feel like seeing this animated opened my eyes to so much of what I thought was missing. Suddenly things are so much clearer. Now.......Now I understand.......Eren only did what had to be done. Well played Mr. Isayama, well played.
And with that, I just want to leave with a quick shoutout to the true GOAT of Attack on Titan..........
Tumblr media

Ok, I saw another dumb set of reasoning that Eremikas use to try to make their ship look better and Erehisu supposedly look bad. They said that because Eren could use the Founding Titans powers against Historia that makes her submissive to him and because others talk about how strong Mikasa is and is immune to the Founding Titan powers as an Ackerman, that makes her more dominant. That is ignoring the fact that even with her physical strength, Mikasa is already extremely submissive towards Eren, she makes everything in her life revolve around Eren. Eren also admires Historia’s strong personality which is why I think it would make way more sense for him to fall in love with her. Also the memory wipe thing was an offer made by Eren that Historia could reject if she chose because if you really wanted to go by Chapter 139, Eren had no problem with altering the memories of his friends without their consent, which is another reason why Chapter 139 sucks. But Eren gave Historia the offer because he saw how much it upset her and she decided not to accept that, which I think would make Eren more in love with her not less. But I also shouldn’t be surprised that Eremikas come up with some pretty dumb reasons to try to make their ship look better.

Eren is no Chad
I really hate that people who are fans of the AOT ending or chapter 139 or are EreHisu antis, always come up with the idea that we EreHisu´s or Ending-haters wanted to make Eren a Chad. No. I don't want Eren to be a cold-blooded killer who only cares about his people and kills the world with no remorse or hate. Eren's decision to kill the outside world was, if it were logical, the best decision you could have made. Eren had a choice between Zeke's euthanasia plan, letting the outside world overrun Paradise, or flattening the outside world to keep his people safe. How far he finally got with his plan depended on Armin and Co. But Eren stood up and said that he only killed a part of humanity on purpose because he could see into the future and saw no other solution... Maybe that came off somewhere...faint. In my opinion, the intention behind it was that he might not necessarily want to kill the outside world either, after the visit to the Jews. But it sounded pretty illogical in itself. Instead of this half-baked explanation, I wished that he had said the following: I only had the choice between the lives of my friends / the people who are important to me and the other people, who of course are not all bad. And I chose to save my friends. I didn't see any other possibility, for example for reconciliation. Finally I can see into the future.
We ending haters and/or EreHisus don't want a Chad, but an Eren with a logical background. The fact that we find the justification, or rather why he only killed part of humanity, illogical / weak doesn't mean that Eren shouldn't have his true feelings and struggles.

I have an important question, if you follow my blog, I want you to please answer it.
You can send me asks anonymously, please let me know and thank you 🙏
So help me out, I’m writing an ending analysis and wondering what questions or important things you feel I should add? Was there anything that confused you? Or something you feel is important I mention? Any theory or something you felt was good or bad? Any parallels? Anything, really. I would really appreciate if you answered this.
*edit, it can be general questions about Aot as well*
