god you're so good at writing the interpersonal struggles of relationships between troubled and kind of shitty old men, i can't tell you how much of a refreshing breath of air reading your development/s and storylines for the characters you like are when all i see from other people is "oh they're so cute uwuwuwu" when like no there's more nuance and flavor to it than that!!!!!!!!!! god!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm biased bc I haven't seen any of the new shows yet, but from what I've gathered I honestly think Star Trek was better when people were making stuff about entirely new Characters and Places. Next Gen, DS9, and Voyager were iconic because they pushed the boundaries. The newer stuff might be technically good, but they're just rehashes of what everyone is familiar with, and that's disappointing when there's literally an entire universe to play with. I don't care how charming the new Kirk is, I've already got 2 of him. Give me someone new! Show me one of myriad species we've only gotten glimpses of (Andorian, Betazoid, Orion- there are so many to chose from!) Not to mention all the insane politics and cool space stuff.

Star Trek is inherently about pushing boundaries, but these last few series just feel so stagnent

my AOS academy-era mckirk fic is (finally) done! 31k, T-rated, fluff and light angst, this fic is the most romantic-comedy type plot I've written.

Summary

Starfleet Academy is hosting a formal dance, and Leonard has little interest in attending. But once he lets it slip that he didn’t go to prom in high school, he suddenly begins receiving anonymous letters from a mysterious secret admirer. If that weren't bad enough, it’s made worse by the fact that Leonard already has a crush, and there’s no way some secret admirer is going to sway his interests away from Jim Kirk.
