i'm new to this place - as in fanfiction. okay, I've been fuckin' around in it for like four months but still.

how the hell do you find one? is this someone you scream at about your plots with? isn't it terrifying to have someone read your shit and like correct it?

actually that whole journal entry is so amazing and sad and yeah <3 i love that we got to see him (who we know as a stoic character) truly show his emotions. obviously we know that faraday cares about anastasia and curie but to actually see it—

today i am thinking about tim's freeze response.

in ep 104, in his statement about danny, he beats himself up over the fact that he couldn't bring himself to move when he saw "danny" up on the stage in the covent garden theatre

I'm generally not a hater. The list of media I actively hate (vs what I simply shrug at and go "its not for me") is fairly small. I don't usually talk about hating media online. I don't find it constructive or a meaningful use of my time.

That said, I will get this off my chest: I hate Star Trek Picard and the way it has made me feel bitter towards TNG. I hate the fact that it gets so much praise when the writing was so objectively shoddy, while Prodigy, which was well written and executed, got canceled because it was a "kids show." I hate how much nostalgia PIC threw to the masses to cover up poor writing. I hate the fact that it worked. I hate that people are petitioning for even more of the same style of show in Star Trek. I don't hate people that loved Picard, it's okay if it *was* your jam, but I am personally very bitter about the show and how it changed the face of Star Trek as a whole.

OH MY GOD imagine champion duelist!reader who participates in a duel someone on trial proposed to defend their honour. neuvillette had his reservations, and even entertained the thought of dissuading you from participating, but ultimately allowed it since that is court procedure and he mustn't let personal feelings get in the way of his work.

the duel is over and won in your favour. it is a natural outcome, neuvillette thinks, though what isn't natural is the way you're severely injured, cuts and bruises, gashes and wounds littering your body and noticeable through the tears of your clothing.

in that moment, when you glance his way and send him that glimmering smile of yours as though it is but an ordinary day and you're not battered after a gruelling duel for honour, neuvillette moves without thinking; in that moment where only you are in his sights as the rest of the world is blurred and frozen in silence, he is not the revered iudex of fontaine, but a man sick with worry for the one whom he holds dear.

(upon her arrival at an urgent call, sigewinne had half the mind to use her tranquillizer on the pacing sovereign, his manic-like footsteps and questions in varying degrees of "is [name] alright?" doing little for her concentration. she's just glad a word from you instantly quells his worries, and wonders when he will finally step up and confess.)

I'm so glad The Stone Rose is a fairly easy-to-find-for-free audiobook because it's been my favorite bedtime story for the last 5 years. I pop that puppy on to fall asleep to on a yearly basis.
