okay! as funny as this idea is (and i agree btw), i got all giggly at the idea of mondo pronouncing it “skele’on” like max does. so i rushed through making this:

“oh! and the skele’on! that was really special!”

listen! it’s fun to characterize mondo like max for comedic purposes, but him saying “skele’on” is something i can seriously get behind.

also when they met in the afterlife, daiya called him a cuck for dying in a dumb way.

im gonna put the original clip under the cut, but i strongly recommend people watch the entirety of “nerdy prudes must die” on youtube if you haven’t already! especially if you like or are interested in comedy musicals (for that i can recommend most of starkid’s musicals), but this one (along with a couple others) has the added bonus of having horror elements as well!

hairsticks are apart from big clasps the only thing that can reliably hold my mass of hair together so i wear them quite often!

though i only have three, two wooden ones and one carved from bone

the wooden ones both look the same and originally had charms as the one in the pic attached at the end, but they both got loose and fell off 😅 i might try to fix it at some point but tbh the dangly bits always got caught in my hair so this is more practical

the bone one is so nice tho because its very long and holds really well

technically, i also have a metal one that looks like asword, but it is too short and slippery for me to actually use in daily business. I only bought it as a holy symbol prop for my dnd Cleric XD

so yeah, pro tip: you want your hairpins to be made from a porous material like wood, bone or amber, those have more grip

bonus thing:

hairpins are really hard to get where i am so the wooden ones are from the thrift and the other two from renfaires, but my ultimative dream would be to find a nice jade hairpin someday because THE CUNTICITY IS OFF THE CHARTS

I'm assuming your headcanons for Morphling will be covered inside of your fanfic, but you mentioned having a lot for her, would you make a list of them?

Sure I can, because most people don't have all the time in the world to read a super long fic.

I headcannon her name is Maureen Trevi. She won the 49th Annual Hunger Games when she was 18 years old.

(so In Catching Fire she is around 44 years old btw :) )

Before getting reaped she did paint jobs for different vehicles at the same factory as her dad.

She lives with her dad and younger sister and she has an estranged mother.

The last time anyone from D6 won was the same year she was born so she didn't have very high hopes for herself. At the same time she kind of knew moping too much wasn't going to let her win

Her District partner was a 13 year old boy named Dev that had essentially given up before the games even started. Even being the first causality of the game. One of the rare times that last place and first place were from the same District.

The arena for her games was an overgrown humid forest.

During her games she mostly hid with camouflage and used poison to get a upper hand on the other tributes.

She killed 4 tributes during her games, has a lot of crippling guilt around that. Always kind of seeing herself as a coward for how she killed the other tributes.

Had a brief alliance with another tribute because they bonded during training, he unfortunately dies (well yeah duh)

Added to that he was the son of a former victor, so added fun having to see his mom every year afterwards.

Has a low key friendship with Haymitch because of how close their Victory are, and they relate to each other when it comes to the substance abuse problems.

Usually wears long sleeves or long sleeved gloves because she is tired of hearing complaints from capitol audience that they can see needle marks on her arms.

11 years after her Victory, during the 60th game, she was the mentor of a 16 year old boy named Cassius and he ended up winning.

Mostly having a similar strategy as her and even getting her to share the strategies she used for her games because he thought that was the best chance he had to survive.

Unfortunately he ends up pretty quickly following her path with getting attached to drugs to cope with the games and his new life as a Victor.

They mostly bond after the games with art. Her mostly preferring to paint landscapes and him mostly preferring to draw with pen and pencil.

Most of the paintings she has done is usually around landscapes and rather abstract stuff. Usually any excuse to play around with colors.

Also like to think their friendship is WLW and MLM solidarity. Too many fics have the Morphlings as a romantic couple and I am tired of it. Nothing wrong with that interpretation, but it feels very "man and woman is considered a duo, they must be a couple" kind of.

Don't bother trying to find out my identity, it's really not hard if you think about it, so just don't.

Anyway, your angst for the day is-

Childe being in love with Zhongli, but the Tsaritsa is afraid that getting his heart broken will make him abandon their revolution against Celestia. She doesn't wanna see him hurt, so she magically freezes his heart so he can't feel love. And the traveler gets a letter from his worried siblings about how they think something happened. Teucer is heartbroken, but Tonia wants to beat up the cryo archon because she's convinced that she had something to do with it.

And Zhongli doesn't know about any of this, so when Childe returns to Liyue, Zhongli is happy he's back, but Childe doesn't feel anything at all, and Zhongli is heartbroken.

OK WAIT THAT HIT MY HEART LIKE A TRUCK WAIT LET ME RECOMPOSE MYSELF WAIT

Ok so this is gonna be a long one

There's something I always comes to my mind when I'm thinking about angsty Childe ideas or what would happen to him in the future, and that something was how his love for his family is the only thing that keeps "Ajax" from being completely gone from him, and it is also one of the only things that still makes him "human". Childe sees himself as a weapon, and his humanity is slowly drifting away from him, be it due to the Abyss or due to his ("flawed") perception of his own self. If something ever happened to his family, I can't imagine what would happen to Ajax.

My guess is that "Ajax", and every lasting remain of his old self would be completely gone. The ability to feel emotions such as 'love' is what makes us human, if he doesn't feel love anymore, what is he then? That's the moment in which "Ajax" truly loses his humanity, as well as who he is. If there is no "humanity" left in him, all that's left is the refined weapon of war that Tartaglia sees himself as.

Now about his family's reaction to Ajax suddenly losing all of his love for them, I can't imagine how heartbreaking it would be. Specially for Teucer, Tonia and Anthon.

Imagine Teucer, having his favorite, beloved big brother who he always looked up to.. suddenly not feeling anything for him, or for anyone else in his family. The once warm smile he used to give to him and his siblings is now just a loveless, emotionless expression being worn on the face of the person who was once his lovely brother.

In the past, everything Ajax did for his family was made with uttermost love and dedication. Their happiness and safety had always been his number one concern. He would do ANYTHING just to see his siblings happy, and to protect their dreams and childhood innocence until the very end. He had always doing his best so that his family can be happy, even for his parents and older siblings, who barely ever talked to him after he came back from the Abyss as a completely different person. It was always clear that Ajax's love for them never declined one bit, even after he was sent to the Fatui by his father.

But now it's like the once sweet, caring son and brother that Ajax once was had lost all of his emotions overnight. And that hurt them in a way no one could ever imagine.

And the worst part, there was little to no grief or regret from Childe's part. He didn't feel anything after all.

Tonia is now sure that the Cryo Archon has something to do with her brother suddenly losing his ability to love, so she begins to desperately try to come up with a plan to make the Tsaritsa pay, to make her bring her big brother back. But even if the rest of the family is worried about her, even though she knows that a mere mortal like her has little to no chances of changing a god's mind, she WILL bring Ajax back, she WILL make him love again if it's the last thing she does. She looked deep into her brother's now emontionless face, and promissed that she would save him ...And she was taught by that same brother that you should never break promisse no matter what.

And Zhongli is clearly not safe from the heartbreak too. When he heard that Childe was coming back to Liyue, he felt so happy. It had been a while since he and Childe had last seen eachother, and Zhongli missed him so much. He missed going on their dates togheter, he missed showing Childe arround Liyue while sharing his vast historical knowledge that Childe was undoubtedly fond of listening to, he missed the fatui harbinger's smile and laugh, and how he talked so fondly about the things that he liked to do, his homeland, his family, everything. Everyone in Liyue knew they would always walk arround the harbor while chatting and holding hands, go to restaurants and stores together, everything. And these encounters would never go by without a hearty laugh from Childe, and Zhongli's long commentaries.

And, if Zhongli was honest, he did have feelings for Childe, and he secretly wished to live a life togheter with him. Even though he knew full well Childe was a mortal who wouldn't live long, Zhongli wanted to be with Childe until the very end. And he had a little hope that the harbinger loved him back.

And that's why Childe's comeback to Liyue hit Zhongli so hard.

The man he loved was now almost a completely different person. It was as if they were just mere strangers to one another. From Childe's part, there was no smile or laugh, there was no happiness or excitement of seeing Zhongli back. There was just nothing at all. Heck, Childe even refused to go on a date like they used to. _What in Celestia happened to him?_ Zhongli wondered. That was not the same man Zhongli loved, something had definitely happened to him. But it was not like Zhongli was even as emotionally close to the man anymore to even be worthy of being told by him what caused him to suddenly feel little to no emotions towards him.

And if there was ever the smallest chance of Childe loving him back, Zhongli knew those chances were now beyond zero.

Sorry it took a while. I had one idea and the change my mind half way through. Anyways...

At the start of their training Isaac picks up an uneasiness around Hyoga. It was supposed to be in the KothZ verse but I think it might work an any universe. Warring for spelling.

There's something about Hyoga that Isaac is having a hard time pinning down exactly. His master says that he has a pretty powerful cosmos, dangerous if he can't control it. That he came to teacher with the nothing but the clothes on his back, demanding to be trained as a knight. Not that Isaac could say anything, he more or less did the same thing, but there's something in his demeanor that is telling of something else on his mind.

Refocusing on Hyoga, he sees that his partner is pass the his breaking point. Camus has told him to help Hyoga to build his cold tolerance. For the most part Hyoga is preforming admirably, he's already much father along than he was at that time frame. Two more weeks and Isaac is sure their master will let them spend the night outside to push their endurance more.

"Okay Hyoga I think that's enough for today. We should head back." Isaac then stands up and picks up the jacket he had next to him. He hopped over to Hyoga, a few meters away, and wraps the jacket around his person.

"No. I want to keep going. Please, it's only been an hour." Hyoga answered, shaking his head to try to stop his tears from falling. "I have to keep going..."

Isaac finally figured out what about Hyoga brothers him. It's that he acts like someone will send him away at the slightest mistake. That their master might send him away if he fails at this.

"And you won't be able too if you stay out here a minute longer." He puts both hands on his shoulder, both in reassurance and to secure the jacket. "You did good today Hyoga. A lot better than I did when I started."

"Really?"

"Yeah." Convinced that Hyoga feels safe, Isaac pushes them towards the small cabin their master is in. "So let's go tell Master Camus how well you did."

The rest of the walk Hyoga is silent, but that underlying dread is gone, hopefully for good. If Isaac does pick up on it again he now knows what to do, but once Master Camus teaches them how to read cosmos it will be easier to catch.

"Hyoga," Isaac catches him as he opens the door. "I promise to guide you. That means if you fall behind or need any help I'll be here." He pulls his hand forward, just like they first met. "So just ask, Okay?"

"Right." Hyoga nods and walks inside. He didn't take his promise like he did last time. Oh well, Isaac thinks. He moves into the cabin and closes the door. He'll have the rest of their lifetime to show his senarity.

The reason for this sideblog’s username is cuz back when I was in the harry potter fandom (twas a short phrase) people kept taking Strong Offense when I revealed that I had never read the books and didn’t intend to. So! This time I am shamelessly putting that fact ahead of everything else. Someone doesn’t like that I haven’t and won’t read the books? They can fuck off and happily avoid interacting with me or my stuff. No unneeded fuss or revelations! 7:D

TDLR: No, I haven’t read the Silmarillion, the lotr trilogy, or any other Tolkien books. I have only seen the lotr movies, the rest of my knowledge is from osmosis via the Tolkien Fandom (silm especially). I currently don’t have any plans to read the Tolkien books.

do u rly think the writers assumed ppl didnt like simon petrikov tbh.... like they gave him flaws n stuff but it's clear that they liked him seeing as how they gave him a whole focus series?? a character having realistically written flaws does NOT equate to the writers assuming ppl dislike him. the showrunners were literally talking about how much they like simon as they were announcing episodes.

ok THAT i will say is a valid read lol i shot that one at the hip because it isnt exactly the same? but it has some visceral similarities to me

no i do not think the writers wanted people to hate simon, i think they wanted to make him 1) as wet and pathetic a cat as possible and 2) write a story that calls him out for not paying enough attention to betty. And i DO think this could have actually been an amazing setup, the indictment of the man who we see first introduced slowly chipping away at himself to save marcy. But, the narrative haranguing didnt feel like it was really deserved, it comes so fast and the way it is directed at simon felt unearned in the way that feels reminiscent of similar narrative situations. i feel they misunderstood where a lot of the audience would be with simon going into eps 9-10. The ending also isn't quite on the same page with the rest of adventure time, and even lot of f&c itself. I think the writers wanted us to feel bettys disappointment in simon was justified (and the setup for that disappointment didnt land for me) and wrote the narrative in a way similar to the way characters in the post were handled where someone who is sympathetic but with some flaws that definitely could be dug into is suddenly indicted a lot more by the narrative in ways that pacingwise start feeling abrupt and unearned because they fail to weave it in with simon as we see him in AT, earlier eps of f&c. im sad because i feel like they couldve tied episodes 9-10 much more deeply into simons character than they did i guess? but yeah no there was some complex mathematical conversions happening in my brain when i saw that post and said petrikov but. i will stand by my theory lol
