I need to make something clear or else the fans might attack me and send me threats, I like this show and was kinda scared to post this but I gotta say it........

.......Anyways, Im just rant about some excuses for Helluva Boss that are just not good excuses when fans defend the wrighting.

1. "If you dont like it dont watch it 🙄"

So this excuse I hear a lot when fans are backed into a corner and cant protect the critisisms from the show (Sorry I am tired, so my spelling might not be that good) And even if people deny it they use this excuse anyways without giving a good argument to why whatever critism the show gets is wrong.

Also I told this to someone before, but by the logic of this excuse, that means anyone who watches and said they openly hate a show like Velma or High Gaurdian Spice secretly likes it.

(I am gonna bring these shows up a lot to use them as examples. Should probably mention now that I dont like either Velma or HGS, but Helluva Boss has SOME THINGS in common, not ALL THINGS, but SOME)

2. "The Series isnt finished, you should wait for it to be done"

Now to an extent this one is ok. Like for example: If Aang from ATLA were going on a journey to learn how to Waterbend, Earthbend, and Firebend to defeat the Firelord, then obviously its gonna take awhile and shouldnt be like "wHy DoEsNt He BeAt HiM NOW!!!". BUT that does not mean you cant critisize the episodes where Aang might get out of character, Katara does something that will leave a bad taste in your mouth, or anything that might not be good writing.

Yes Helluva Boss isnt finished, but thats still a bad excuse for defending the writing. You should still put effort into the writing. Like the fight between Blitzø and Stolas was resolved in A TEXT MESSAGE AND PEOPLE SAY ITS GOOD WRITING. IT ISNT!!! Like if your most emotion point in your show is going to be resolved in something we dont see happen, then there is no growth to the characters. (Saying this is an easter egg is just another excuse for bad writing.) People say that later on it might get resolved and that we should be patient I call bull crap. In S2E2 Stolas and Blitzø are not even akward around eachother, so I highly doubt future episodes will talk about this.

Also, I just thought, shouldnt shows like Velma also go for its excuse? Like its getting a Season 2, so we shouldnt judge the show until its finished right? I dont wanna hear "Its because Velma ruined Scooby Doo!" Or "Velma is an acception since it can make my eyes role" Nope!!! We gotta wait till Velma is over to fully critisize it.

2.5 "You shouldnt be comparing VELMA to HELLUVA BOSS!!!"

Gonna bring this up since SOMEONE WILL. But I do NOT like Velma, I think its crap. I like Helluva Boss, not a fan of the stans and a lot of things Viv says and does. They can not take Critisism. She says she can but accually doesnt. And I kinda realize that there are some things Velma does that people role their eyes at, but when Helluva Boss does it, they get praised for it. Again, I 👏DO 👏NOT 👏LIKE 👏 VELMA. Im treating it equal to other shows, when Velma does something everyone hates it. When Helluva Boss does it everyone likes it. For example, the Swearing and Sex jokes. When Velma does it, people say that they swear and do sex jokes for no reason and it ruins the mood. But when Helluva Boss does it (Which keep in mind, 90% of the dialoug is sex and swearing.) It gets praised. Just wanted to point it out.

3. "Its Hell, what do you expect? 🤡"

I saved the best for last. Yall probably heard this one before lol. So, Im just gonna say that yes the characters do live in hell and that can lead to their bad behavior and cruel humor. The issue that I have is that will be used to defend bad writing. Yes they live in hell, but that doesnt mean 90% of the dialoug should be sex, swearing, and angst. Yknow the end of Unhappy Campers where Moxxie and Millie dressed as siblings and had sex on stage infront of minors? "But its hell!" Yes, BUT its out of character for Moxxie and Millie. MOXXIE ESPECIALLY!!!! ITS ALSO GROSS LIKE HOW IS THIS FUNNY?????

There are also double standards. For example when Stella turns out to be a abusive bish, we are made to suppose to hate her. But when Loona was abusive to her adoptive father who took her in and gave her love, we are suppose to laugh??? Also, dont say "But he threatened to replace her!" No, Loona brought it up AFTER she was attacking Blitzø and he roled along with it.

"But its Hell!!!" my butt. If Stella is abusive to make Stolas look like a justified character and her unlikeable, then why should I like Loona? And no, trauma is not an excuse. She is 22 and she has control of her own self.

And like??? If I were to write a story of some unlikeable guy in New York City who killed people for no reason, should my excuse be "Its society, what do you expect? This is life, get over it."

Conclusion

In conclusion, if you accually want to defend the writing of your horny demon show, then find accual critisms. Again, I👏 Like👏This👏Show. But when Fans and Viv shield any critisms and just see it as blind hate, it makes me upset. Most people who critisize this show like it. The thing is, if we praise or ignore something that needs to be critiqued, then the writing wont get any better. If we critisize it, then there is a chance that Viv will realize she needs to put effort into her wrighting.

I like this show, it inspired me, but Season 2 is such a downgrade from the previous season.

every now and then i get comments on some of my older rants about totk and im pretty sure its usually the very first post without any of the additions i tend to add later on-

old post about how i found it a lil weird that the one of the first things rauru and sonia doing is put zelda back into a little white maiden dress even tho her own clothes didnt look damaged at all and were far more practical and someone commented that its so she doesnt stand out (something that was said in nearly every comment i got on that post already) and that it was only weird bc i was making it weird or sth xD

but it made me think about it again, so .... that excuse doesnt work for me at all bc .. why wouldnt she want to stand out? whats the danger of that? her suddendly appearing out of nowhere, not knowing anything of the traditions or happenings of the time, being around the king and queen all the time with a duplicate enigma stone and unknown technology (purah pad) isnt weird? i know the excuse of oohoho shes a distant relative of sonia (i know its far stretched techinically true i guess) but why even do that, why go to such lengths of keeping her time traveling secret? making her less of a target for gan isnt really sensical either bc he went for sonia anyway, despite zelda clearly being the younger and less experienced of the two with less control of her power, and if he knew she was techinically more powerful .. well then shes even less in danger, and if he might have wanted to get information from her what could he have gained from it really? she didnt really know anything more anyway? like all she could tell him would be like you will lose i guess lol

(also you could keep it secret from him but why from the others, i just dont see the point, i dont find her look pretty either, she just looks uncomfortable, like if she gets put in to a lil white uwu maiden dress AGAIN im just gonna assume ok you are stripped of all your agency and will sacricifce yourself again wahoo what fun)

in a world were time magic is normal why wouldnt you just say yep she literally came from the future to help us? the usual rules of time travel, as in, dont tell anyone who you are, dont mess with the happenings bc everything can have major consequences, doesnt apply anyway, she goes around by her real name and is involved in literally every major happening .. so why care?? keeping it secret from gan for the future? why? he literally recognizes her within a split second anyway

(no gonna get into why i think her time travelling in the first place is like .. so forced? its only segway to put her out of the game essentially and the oh no tragic twist, but like why, she got the powers and the stone so she unconcisouly travels ... back in time ..?? why not reverse the stones she fell from or something, if it was soemthing that would come up again ok! like she did the time travel accidentally and then learned how to return over the time she spent in the past thats good!! i like that idea, but its never broguht up again, the closest thing to it is the weird two time bubbles that just serve to give you her time powers (whats up with how that went down anyway) and then to send the mastersword back ... why even do that when it could have fallen and travelled back with her right away?? and both of those are at the very start of the game AND IT NEVER COMES UP AGAIN, like fine if it was her trying to go back but not getting it right so she creates weird ass time bubbles cool! why not put them all over the place with them getting bigger and maybe being able to talk to link from the past idk SOMETHING- ok ill stop here ...)

OK so on the palm of our hands thing i have a few things to say

first of all i love how Ash knew that he knew what to continue with bc they are just so in sync with each other ofc <3 and OFC they had to put that scene in for the last episode, like when it was in the Mewto episode for the first time, i was honestly screaming of how cute it was LIKE THE FACT ASH MADE THE LITTLE ADD ON OF 'OUR HANDS' IN THE FIRST TIME THEY DID IT JUST MAKES IT EVEN MORE CUTER EJHSKF

but anyways as much as i love this scene because of how 'the future is in the palm of our hands', can be interpreted in some otherways, 👀 I also couldnt help but thing about something else.

after/before the Project mew stuff actually started/finished (pretty sure it was after,) we see a scene of Goh, Gary and Horace using the 'palm of our hands' phrase together, and yeah its rlly cute lmao, but i was kind of hoping it was something unique for Ash and Goh, not trying to be a fusspot, but i think the scene now feels slightly less special to me now Goh used it with some other people?

I mean sure, ash and goh were still the first people who did it, and it IS their kind of thing lmao, like they created it. Even tho it was just an initial thought, it is still really sweet that goh used it with others don't get me wrong <3

uhmmm so first things first. Did i like the goodbye for them? Well, yeah, it was quite cute, especially the end part where Ash gives him that last bit of encouragement and called out his name, because SHEESH if they left that part out and gave them that first goodbye without Ash calling out to him, and they just left each other....yeah, i wouldn't be happy.

I am the anon who sent you the long message, I am also a dude , Im of a rare breed in the fanbase , dont seem like there is alot of us here and thats ok lol I have sent you something before actually about how when men know we know. And I will say that over and over again. Seems like alot of the anons you get seem to be from people who are losing faith in that and think whatever Miss Gerber has with Austin is real. A man knows when he found his wife, not to get all preachy and sound like a religious crazy person but there is legit a whole bible verse in the book of Proverbs about it. I am 31, still young but old enough to know , especially as a married man myself when a guy has found his wife, he isnt hiding that shit. When i proposed to my wife we were on vacation and I legit facetimed my friends when she was in the shower and told them the news, up there squealing like a woman excited as hell LMAO. Austin is someone who wears his heart on his sleeve, if he saw that life with Kaia we would know it will show. So all that privacy BS is exactly that.....BS....like he dodges questions about her all the time and Kaia does the same, i personally have never seen celebs go that far to do that, even the ones who wanna be private. They still talk about each other. I think these shippers as I stated see themselves in Kaia,so when things are said about their relationship and lacking chemistry they take it as you saying about them and Austin...anyways I will stop ranting here but i wanted this to known and to give your blog a guy perspective

i think a lot this discourse stems from the fact that the super young girls in this fandom closer to kaia's age clearly are showing that they haven't been in a serious relationship, or they don't have a lot of life experience. because a man should love his woman entirely and not be afraid to show it or talk about it. if a man hides his girl in any way then he's not happy with her. austin moves with kaia like a man that is not taking her serious. plus he knows she is too young for anything serious anyway. and when a guy TRULY thinks he has found his future wife, he won't waste time. i know this from personal family and friend experiences. i come from a parental background where my mom and dad got engaged after only 6 months of dating and they are still together 30+ years later. i know someone else where after only a week their man proposed and they are still together. like...it is what it is. a man can be just as emotional, clingy, and lovey-dovey to his woman than the woman is to him. ladies reading...if your guy doesn't act like the sun doesn't rise and set with you then he is not the one and he won't ever be. and that's okay. go find yourself a person that leaves no question as to their feelings for you. if you have to guess or question then, as the famous movie goes, he's just not that into you.

and you mentioned a verse in proverbs. i'm not necessarily a religious fanatic, however i am spiritual and i won't turn my nose up at acknowledging that stuff. . so if you would like to share the verse then go for it.

the FACT that SF6 doesn't have any SF3 characters despite being after it in the timeline is a real shame. the game is amazing but (as much as I hate DLC conceptually) I really want a SF3 fighters pass to happen after this season of DLC is over. my picks are absolutely Alex, Elena, Dudley, and Makoto. I want Sean too but he just ended up being 5th on my list.

here's my argument:

id: a gif of Alex. He is a big big muscle man. A white new yorker in his 20s with long hair, a headband, military style pants, fingerless gloves, and absolutely no shirt. end id.

Alex is the poster boy for SF3 but he is also a grappler which I think SF6 could use another of after all the season 1 characters are in the game. right now it's just Zangief and Manon and some would say thats enough but I'm biased cause I like grapplers.

id: a gif of Elena. she is a young black kenyan woman with short hair. she is more or less just wearing a bikini but to me that doesn't register in a sexual way. she is also wearing various colored bangles on her neck, arms, and legs. notably, she is doing an awesome idle animation where she dances back and forth like she is preparing to dodge and weave any attacks. end id.

Elena is just amazing. Do I even need to explain why she deserves the spot? Capoeria is a really cool inspiration for a fighter and another black woman in the SF6 cast would be great!

id: a gif of dudley. he is a black gentleman boxer from england. he is wearing fine clothes, a short sleeve white button up with suspenders that hold up his well tailored pants. and of course fancy shoes and boxing gloves. he has a foppish haircut and a fancy mustache. end id.

Dudley is maybe my favorite character in the SF3 cast. something about his whole vibe and attitude. sure, SF6 will have a boxer in the form of Ed but he represents a dirty boxer. He was trained by Balrog after all. Meanwhile Dudley is a very clean and honorable boxer and that creates a very interesting dynamic between the two. You can argue against having 2 boxers but how many shotos do we already have? you can deal.

id: a gif of makoto. she is a young japanese martial artist. she wears a Gi with a black belt and a long yellow scarf that flows behind her. she has short scruffy hair, giving off a tomboy look. she has a focused wide stance, preparing for any attack her opponent might throw. end id.

Makoto is maybe The standout character from SF6. She has an extremely unique and scary fighting style that would fit really well with SF6's universal mechanics. she is a fan favorite and I just like her a lot. plus we could see her a little older and more trained which would give her not only a cool redesign but a great story and gameplay opportunity. I mean come on, everyone wants Makoto.

Some Rambly Thoughts About Custom G1 Ponies…

Okay sorry in advance: Rereading some of these thoughts I am a little bit mean tonight. but i do not care lol I am ranting for fun.

I am A little annoyed at those types of people who criticize anyone who makes MLP G1 customs because they think its immoral to customize a vintage toy since they arent made anymore (….you could say the same thing about like, g4 since thats over now, but okay).

It is perfectly fine, and even good, to customize a vintage toy at times.

Most customizers are smart and will seek out “bait” (damaged) ponies to customize. If they’re already broken or damaged, customizing it is like giving it a new life, even if theyre not restoring it to be exactly how it is before. In fact: Sometimes it may be cheaper to customize a pony than restore it!

For example: The pony I made my extraterra custom of was Moondancer. She had cut hair and no cutiemark, her glitter for her cutiemark had completely faded away. Now, ive restored a moondancer before so I actually have everything i would need to have fixed her, but like. lets say i wasn’t a restorationist who had all the materials: I would have to pay for each of the hair colors I need (about 15 bucks when you factor in shipping) and then another 15-20 bucks to buy the rehairing tool and needles and then 5 bucks on quality glue and a few more bucks on zipties to retail her and then id have to buy glitter. I personally buy biodegradeable glitter but the kind i get is a little expensive especially since i have to get it shipped from overseas so im paying like 20 more bucks- Moondancer is one of the most common ponies and typically sells for around 15 bucks total o-o. Not that I don’t see value in restoring common ponies (I will restore at least 1 of every pony so that I can add her to my collection, no matter how damaged) but like. Most people don’t wanna throw all their money away to do that for a cheap common pony when they COULD put their money into those same supplies (hair, tools, paint, ect) and have fun making a cool new unique piece of artwork.

2. Even if the pony isn’t damaged: Is it your toy? Is that YOUR toy that the person customized? No? It was their Own Toy That They Paid For With Their Own Money? then shut the fuck up its not your business what they do with their toys 😭 Yeah it would hurt my heart if someones out there buying expensive rare ass ponies just to customize them when there are cheaper alternatives to certain poses (like if someone customized a night glider when they could have just used like, posey or someone for the pose) but its not my business because its not my toy and I accept that people can do whatever the fuck they want with their own property.

And anyways, most customizers DO care about vintage toys and will seek out the more common ponies with the poses they need, I don’t think anyone who is truly invested in the pony fandom uses ultra rare ponies for their customs UNLESS theyre already damaged, in which case I just see it as giving it new life. Also, customizers utilize projects like the HQG1C project or Basic Funs ponies, so you dont Have to use vintage toys to actually make a g1 custom anymore.

but I also dont think people should be shamed for using vintage bases. It can be convenient if you have bait ponies laying around. Especially since sometimes there Is No Good Alternative. like for example: I would love to make a custom of my pony design for Gregory Fnaf, but I would need a kinda rarer hard to get pose (the baby brother ponies with the molded hooves). I personally won’t make any customs unless i can find a damaged one, but if i COULD find a damaged vintage baby boy i would absolutely use it because whats the alternative when some poses are just flat out rare :(

Also to the people who just hate vintage customs in general: Sorry but youre boring. You dont like fun new designs in the g1 style? You want everything to be made with current toys? My autism makes me think about ponies 90% of the time, and for 99% of the time im thinking about ponies, i forget g4 and g5 even exist because im so focused on the older gens. Not everyone cares about the new stuff. You dont like the older gens or people using their creativity to make art relating to the older vintage gens? Youre boring as hell, sorry

Final thing I wanna say: this rant is inspired by many posts complaining about customs but the one that made me the most mad was someone complaining about G1 customs and then finishing their post with “and you could TELL that it was their first time making a custom like that :/ “

Fucking excuse you? Customs are an art form, plain and simple. And everyone has to start somewhere. do you think my first ever custom pony was any good? (for anyone curious its not one ive posted on this blog, it was a fakie) hell no I made many mistakes! But you shouldnt shame or insult people for their art, we all start somewhere and frankly you’re just mean.

So I was lurking in @thequeenofthewinter 's blog as one casually does and I came across the sexyman fiasco posts. and oh my God. I should have not went to investigate.

The sheer hate for Ulfric had me a little shocked. Like yeah, I admit that my favorite nord is very, very flawed (sometimes infuriating as well) and everyone is entitled to their opinions about him, whether they are positive or negative but hating a fictional character to the point that you feel the need to say that "People who like Ulfric Stormcloak should be shot." (I just went back and it was not one, BUT TWO people who said it) Is kind of... going a little too far.

There are reblogs roasting Ulfric that I know are all in good fun, and I even laughed at some of them (love the "how is ulfric going to compete against the glory of Alduin" one lmao) BUT COME ON...

Also saw someone said Ulfric was a n*zi?! And that people sent anon asks basically saying @incorrectskyrimquotes was endorsing rascism for just putting Ulfric in the poll. While saying they want to f*ck Alduin, who I'm pretty sure is pretty damn worse in the grand scheme of Nirn.

This post was made because of the sexyman poll, but it opened my eyes to how intolerant the fandom can be towards other less-liked/more flawed characters like Ondolemar, Miraak, etc. Because they get incredible amounts of hate as well.

Now, why am I not going to publish the fic I've been mentally planning for a whole year? I hear nobody ask.

Short answer is: I do not wish to get an explosive in my mail for simping over Ulfric. lol

Long answer is: I am genuinely scared of some of the members in the fandom. I fear that I post about a character I love, cherish and am attached to just to get harassed and dragged for it. That I attempt to connect with the community to befriend people who share my interests and get shunned and casted out instead.

I love when characters make mistakes, say the wrong things and get in trouble for it, I like when they have negative traits and flaws because it makes them human and not a bland Mary Sue who can do no wrong. I write my fics because I adore the original work, I write to express my feelings, my ideas, to transform the bad things that have happened in my life and make art out of the sadness, pain and anger. I accept criticism, and wish to learn and grow as both an author and a person. But there is a very clear difference between criticism and hate.

Its honestly very disheartening to see that a game that is widely regarded as a sandbox that gives you the freedom to create your own story has so many people in its fandom that cannot handle when others don't fit into the idea/mold they have created of what is "right" and what is not. People that don't care to understand the point of view of others and resort to insulting the other person.

Anyways, thats it, thats the rant.

I am, again, extremely sorry for how long it is but I truly needed to get it out of my chest.

I know sort of obvious choices, but I'm curious to see what opinions you have on these ships.

did metadede so its time for metalor and metasusie! putting both of these under the cut because youre getting my double opinion whammy. obligatory "its not every shipper obviously im just generalizing based on personal experience" dont let my opinions stop you from shipping something unless its like problematic obvs lol

theres nothing wrong with metalor but it unfortunately does fall into my "red flag ship" category

ill reiterate my definition of that again for people who didnt catch it in my last rant: what i call red flag ships are ships that are totally fine on paper, but for some reason the shippers and fandom culture surrounding it are just rancid and it throws me off liking the ship all together. and then i get kinda sussed out by people who ship it

honestly i have never gotten the appeal of this one or understood the dynamic at all. and thats fine of course. i did try reading a couple fics about it even, and in them its usually like. meta doing some shit that makes absolutely no sense under the guise of "he has a good reason for it" that just Coincidently happens to land him and magolor into some relationship-implying situation. and also the "good reason" meta knight had for doing whatever was not a good reason and was in fact a huge stretch of a reason for sake of moving the relationship along quicker. which you know i dont shame at all, i get that sometimes you just want to get to the juicy shit and people are absolutely allowed to do that, but that really just sums up my feelings on the ship entirely lol. stretches and stretches of reasonings for them to get together that dont entirely, or sometimes even remotely, make sense but okay they end up together in the end somehow 🤷

the fact that the ship is the two most popular and thirsted over men in the series together is the reason why this one lands into red-flag territory im so sorry. it attracts some um. interesting people who end up being somewhat pretentious about their own interpretations on the characters and some people get a little scary or intense about it. also of course occasionally their relationship being boiled down to whoever ships them nonstop thirsting for both of them but thats like just fandom culture for you, i really cant judge. people do that with metadede too to be fair. also a lot of metalor shippers ive seen are just downright mean for some reason. anyone else notice that or have i just been running into bad people

as people might be able to tell by how fairly neutral about it i seem, this one is yeah one of the less red flag-y of what i consider red flag ships. its totally fine. i personally really dont like the ship but its only like 60-70% of the shippers who i squint at compared to the Abysmal rates of other red flag ships. speaking of, by the way...............

i Do think its possible to ship this one in a healthy manner. actually even in a not healthy matter as long as youre explicit about it being not healthy and its just one of those ships you find interesting due to the drama. ive read metasusie fics where it was explicitly about how fucked up the relationship can be and theyre very very fascinating from a story and character perspective if you want to explore a tragically evil but still nuanced susie. i would say highly recommend, but i dont actually because a lot of them just lean into weird unnecessary torture porn. its somewhat of a fine line between tasteful and untasteful

ANYWAYS brief tangent aside, i think its possible to ship this one in a healthy manner because you know me i would be a hypocrite to bash an enemies to lovers ship, but it obviously relies on susie needing to recognize her faults and make up to meta knight in some way, plus improve as a person in general. its somewhat of a grey area depending on various factors, both game and real life perspective-wise, how redeemable one considers the whole mechanization and dehumanization though so i dont blame people who absolutely dont trust the ship

speaking of lets get into the way this one is Definitely the reddest of the red flag ships ever. metasusie shippers what are you doing oh my god

people will try to make the excuse that they have headcanon or interpretation differences that lighten the whole endeavor, which yeah that fair. you can imagine mecha knight was just some suit they put over him rather than anything invasive like a lot of people think. thats absolutely fair. you can imagine that meta knight still retains parts of his super star personality where he was kinda okay with the mechanization in some twisted personal ambition way because hes a power hungry guy who will take any means necessary to be stronger. thats also pretty fair. ah you think this is sounding favorable to the metasusie shippers huh. WRONG. WRONG. YOU CAN THINK ALL OF THIS BUT NONE OF THIS EXCUSES THAT THE WHOLE MECHANIZATION WAS STILL WRONG NO MATTER HOW YOU TWIST IT. tfw mecha knights theme is called "inner struggle" definitely implying that he did Not like being mechanized and was trying to fight against it. tfw the elephant in the room being mechanization is of course a metaphor for colonization which is not a good thing to do to someone regardless whether or not they seem cool with it. tfw THE DEHUMANIZATION. TFW METASUSIE SHIPPERS GO HEEHOO HEEHOO CUTE SHIP AND POLE VAULT OVER THE DEHUMANIZATION. HI.

regardless whether or not you have interpretation or headcanon differences, you Cannot ignore the fact that the game does not exist in a vacuum and its themes are undoubtedly tied to real life parallels. in ignoring those parallels or sidestepping them when theyre so blatant and in your face Yes you kinda are being a huge asshole. susie calling mecha knight an It and being like heres our newest product :) while also having the dissonance of being like hes such a cool strong handsome knight is supposed to directly refer to how colonizers will fetishize the people they colonize while fucking over them and their home because they only like them as a surface level Idea rather than actually respecting their culture and them as fellow human beings right im not just being insane making all this up??? huh???? ive gotten away from my original point i feel but tldr IF YOU PRETEND LIKE SUSIE NEVER HURT OR DID ANYTHING TO META KNIGHT I WILL THROW YOU INTO A GRAIN SILO. NO!!!

anyways if you have susie getting a redemption arc yes youre so cool. if you have them getting together okay thats cool. if you draw susie/mecha knight art and act like its cute im throwing you into the grain silo too. if you dont have susie properly redeeming herself and ship her with meta knight even though shes still weird about him and still colonizing people then i dont trust you and thats the category most metasusie shippers fall in

i also want to bring up the people ship it out of spite, because theres been a big spite-shipping metasusie resurgence in the past year thanks to weird stalking drama sparked by a very certain someone people might remember. yall need to realize that going harder on something that understandably makes people uncomfortable and trying to push back by pretending the ship is (by default) more harmless than it is and pretending that everyone who dislikes it is automatically being unreasonable just because Some people are yikes to metasusie shippers is Not the play to take. it just makes you look like an inconsiderate asshole. two people being assholes to each other does not cancel out it just makes an even bigger fire. get some critical thinking skills yeah

its not the fault of anyone who wants to make cute metasusie content that susie is very explicitly a colonizer and a lot of people have strong feelings about that, bbbbbbbbut i hope it came across in this whole tangent that if you try lessening the blow of her actions against meta knight people have full right to hate your guts imo

Baldur's Gate has over taken my life

So here's a long ass rant about Astarion because I love him so much my heart bursts with love and joy for this man (Everything will be spoilers under the cut so if you have not completed the game make sure you DO NOT read this LOL)

So...I'm not someone who usually rants like this on my blog but it's my blog and well free will is everything so let's go : )

What I really want to talk about is about how much the trauma and his abuse must have warped his mind...over 200 years of it, I can barley comprehend the past 23 for myself but 200 years

Like no wonder he treats everyone a certain way, no wonder his first reaction is to "go hurt someone", perhaps it maybe was in his nature beforehand(?) but we don't know and I don't think he really recalls either! (other than the fact that he was a magistrate all those years ago, which to me, is still kinda funny to think about hehe, but thats most likely because he wasn't the person we meet in BG3)

And thats the thing, once you help him over come the black mass and you enter the cutscene with him and he shares his old grave to you- I almost assumed that maybe it would have been old family members besides him...but no, just himself. Who was Astarion before his embrace? I suppose it doesn't matter anymore since after that moment he resigns that life and proclaims his past self long dead but...the mind does wander at times.

It does make me sad, how it seems as though he must pick and I suppose it's just me being jaded with the idea that one must sacrifice happiness to do the right thing- when idk the idea of having your cake and eating it too it something he deserves after again- 200 YEARS- of horrid abuse

This is NOT to say that I approve of him becoming evil lord 9000, but rather a catapult into the last option you get to say to him at the end of it all with his final cutscene where he asks you "What do you want?"

There is an option where you can suggest that the both of you continue to search for ways to let him walk into the sun together again and if you choose that well he does seem delighted and exclaims if there is a chance he will seize it no matter what (and that it will lead to more adventures together hehe).

My idea was that what if...it was actually a road to having him regain his humanity, you know? Bring him back to life as our dear evanessence would say- and I don't mean that he must sacrifice something to have this and he must suffer more blah blah blah I MEAN SERIOUSLY!

It was a sorta "final adventure", the gangs all here and somehow it becomes more than just that for our beloved vampire man (because of course it does), but at the end of the day, after possibly IDK saving the world for a second time perhaps LMAO- he gets to finally be rewarded :,))

He fought and fought hard, began the road to self acceptance and love, to slowly heal himself with the help of your BG3 character..to finally be rewarded to breathe air again.

To eat again, to feel the blood rush to his cheeks again- his heart pumping again. More than just walking into the sunlight without harm, but to be able to gain from it. To be alive again...

i was thinking about this line from Mahito during the Junpei arc

and about how it applies to a few other characters as well, most obvious to me being Getou, and to some extent Yuuji

the idea here is that its not always good to over-think things (though i guess the word “over-think” already has a negative connotation?) and that it can lead to a worse outcome than if you just act by gut instinct

Getou’s an obvious example of this at play:

after hidden inventory he spirals into hating non-sorcerers, partially because of his social isolation during this period (and also because of the events of hidden inventory), but also because of that “deliberation” as Mahito says. He’s trapped by constantly going on missions, which he compares to “running a marathon without knowing where the finish line is” in his discussion with Yuki. prior to that conversation, he talks to Haibara, who says this:

... which is exactly what Mahito is talking about.

then again, i guess Getou’s always been somewhat of a thinker, but here we can see that it bites him in the ass. he’s unable to find a simple, selfish purpose like Haibara, instead he has to remain the same selfless, morally righteous person he once was, except now he’s seen a side of the system that completely recontextualizes it

then he meets Yuki Tsukumo, who was like the worst possible person for him to meet at this point

(im not trying to say that yuki is evil or even that she personally corrupted him)

Yuki is also someone who’s looking at the system as a whole, and through their discussion Getou can find a perfect solution to his dilemma; a way to still feel “in the right”, to not have to live with that inner conflict.

Yuki seemingly tries to derail him from that line of thought with this:

essentially pointing out that its a false dichotomy, that he can pick whatever feelings he wants to. that said i have a hard time believing that Getou heard what she was saying, or maybe it wasnt possible for him to find another way once he met the twins.

in the end Getou’s decision here leads to his death, so i do think Mahito’s quote about deliberation applies rather well. just like Junpei, Getou cant stop thinking

(i actually want to rant a bit about megumi’s argument here, because it’s flat out insane: saving someone who later kills someone makes you in no way whatsoever responsible for that murder. you have literally nothing to do with it. even if something like a prison guard lets a murderer out of jail, and that murderer kills someone else, it wouldnt make sense to charge the guard for like.. assisted murder or anything. because the guard had nothing to do with the murder! even if yuuji saves tadashi (the dead guy in the detention center), and tadashi kills another little girl whilst driving without a license, thats not on yuuji! that’s on tadashi!! and it’s not really an argument for not saving him anyway, because you’re also depriving tadashi the possibility to become a better person and to thus positively impact other people lol. whatever rant over sorry)

ahem. Yuuji. at first Yuuji is like Haibara, he doesn’t really think too hard about stuff, but other people make him over-think:

Megumi’s argument from the detention center stuck with Yuuji, and here he’s essentially blaming himself for making Megumi guilty of saving his life, which let Sukuna kill like a billion people. It doesn’t make much sense, and its really just a symptom of Yuuji not knowing how to cope with Sukuna’s crime (which he feels like he enabled/let happen)... which had its consequences in the fight with Higuruma (is higgy also someone who over-thinks things??? someone help these guys)

I would say how fast the forgiveness went is my biggest critique with Baxter's DLC, but considering it is already the longest and the time crunch, I can also kind of see why it is that way. How would you have lengthened the angst before the forgiveness finally came?

yeah same!! i totally get why its the way it is and i dont think its bad at all, but i do think there's more avoidance and then sudden hashing out n forgiveness. also i think the difference is MC has 5 years to get over baxter, while we have 5 minutes more or less to make the decision so i think thats what makes forgiveness, sudden.

but to answer your question!!!

honestly i think i'd just make it longer n add some more options for those who hold grudges like me lol or just wanna snap on baxter bc i feel like mc never had a chance to really tell baxter how much it hurt. and for the most part baxter kept brushing it off whenever MC tried having a conversation.

although it does make sense cause of the wedding, and thus i'd have it play out more near the end/after the wedding bc i think that took a lot away from the problem, although it did help bring mc + baxter together which i think is a cute trope n i enjoyed it BUT ANYWAY

i think i would totally revamp the scene where mc confronts baxter and in the end it comes to nothing and he's like "im sorry, i can't give you what you want." or "its me, not you" basically

instead i would have a scene, probably before the wedding/baking the cake where MC snaps at baxter.

yelling at him, or at least ranting about how hurt they were. and maybe it ends in tears on your end

or talking about how they felt, and they start crying and ranting about how they felt, how they felt abandoned, etc.

overall i think it definitely ends with baxter hugging you (if you want it) or at least him holding your hands and he's on his knees in front of you, telling you how sorry he is and reassuring you that he wouldn't do it again

because thats one thing i think is iffy about the dlc, realistically you'd be afraid of baxter leaving again but instead its more you reassuring him that you won't leave him and that you want him. but i really wanted that reassurance instead, especially after a conversation on how he left

i would definitely have a option where MC ignores or acts more coldly with baxter, like a silent anger, and would try to not to be around baxter.

and baxter wouldn't talk too much about their moments together- at least if MC is around, but when he did the MC would get upset about it and maybe even walk off or just roll their eyes and go "that was in the past. forget about it"

just MC would be very distant and baxter would chase the MC instead, beg them to talk to him

and maybe baxter catches MC after a session with jude & scott, and he runs up to them, catching them by the wrist/hand

and MC: snatches their hand away, tenses up but doesnt pull away, doesnt pull away from shock/they dont really want to pull away...

and baxter starts going on about why he did it, he doesn't excuse it, he's just trying to explain but hes in front of you as if he didn't tear you apart half a decade ago and you snap at him.

you yell/raise your voice about how he left, how he shut you down when you asked to keep contacting, and now he's here and wants to act like it never happened but you cant do that.

you snap, ranting but keeping your voice even as you tell him how he left and how you had to pick yourself back up. about how he left so cruelly and now he wants to act like it's okay but its not.

you cry, telling him how you can't act like things are okay because you spent a long time trying to get over him. and maybe it worked, maybe it didn't, but either way it hurts.

at the end, you tell him you still love him but you can't go through this twice, that you can't trust him to not hurt you like that. that you love him but you need more than what he's doing.

and he apologizes, asks for a chance to make it up to you. to help you trust him again to which you agree.

basically i just would have a deeper confrontation and less avoidance, less wedding, and a more irritable/distant MC
