Hi thereee~ Would you mind doing some headcanons of the chain with a reader that basically has no personal space rules set in place for themselves, so they're like a living teddy bear up for hugs and anything else? Who would totally take advantage of this for free cuddles?
A/n:Oh my goodness this is really cute heck yea. I’m not sure if this was meant to be platonic or romantic but it can be read as either!! This part includes Time, Sky, and Twilight in that order!
Also Lemme preface and say the chain would absolutely make sure you’re 100% okay with it first. They don’t wanna cross any lines, even if there aren’t technically any lines there. Just had to throw that out there. Anyway!
Time:
The old man isn’t really a cuddly person, but if you were you just come up to him and hug him, I don’t think he’d think anything of it. You’d definitely have to initiate it first with him for a while. Take for instance he and the captain are going over plans. You walk up to him and just hug around his torso or hug his arm and lean your head on his shoulder(or wherever you can reach), he wouldn’t even miss a beat.
“Hey uhh old man?”
“What?”
“…nothing”
They’re all just a touch too intimidated to say anything. He has a soft spot for you and would let you walk all over him if you wanted. Eventually he does get to a point where he returns your affections and place an arm around you whenever you come up—even if you don’t initiate it. He gets used to the affection you give and subtly begins to seek you out. Sitting by you at dinner time, putting his bedroll by yours, silently hoping you end up in his arms in the middle of the night. You’re comforting to him and he likes having you around.
Sky
Sky would 10000% take advantage of free affection. That man is the human version of the word “cuddle,” so the fact that you are as well makes him melt. Finally, he has someone just as snuggly as he is. I can see the two of you constantly snuggled up by the fire, his sailcloth around you both to act ad a blanket. He’d either be whittling something new(probably some cute gift for you) or playing his harp—or even just talking to one of the others. If he’s not doing something with his hands, you best believe he’s got at least one of his arms around you. I also know for a FACT he loves having someone play with his hair(it’s me I’m Jojo I say so/j). You can’t have hair THAT fluffy and not constantly want someone playing with it. Sky will absolutely seek you out at any time of day—as the chain travels around, he’ll come to walk by you and take your hand, swinging it with a dopey smile like he was proud of himself to get to walk beside you(spoiler alert:he is. He’s so happy he gets to exist at the same time as you, even momentarily.) sky adores you and wants nothing more than to hold you all the time. He will if you let him, but you’d have to say that first.
Twilight
My rancher, my cowboy, my beloved. He gives the best bear hugs in all of Hyrule—every Hyrule! He’s probably the second person under sky to absolutely take advantage of the ‘free hugs from y/n’ rule. He loves getting hugs and giving them too :,). He and sky are the comfort people in the chain—and you, little charm, are the newest addition to that title. If anyone is in need of comfort and love, they go to one of three folks. Sky, twilight, and you. You are Twilight’s comfort person, most definitely. Both as wolfie and himself. The wolf walks by you, and twilight will do his best to as well. Usually he sticks around the old man, but when he can, he’s by you, even doing so much as to drag you to the front of the group so he can have both. He likes being in his mentor’s plans, hearing the creation of them, knowing exactly what direction they’re heading and being able to be one of the first into action should something occur—speaking of action, that’s another reason he likes you by him. Not only to sling an arm around you and have you hug around his torso—but so he can protect you as well. He adores you and would absolutely blame himself if something happened to you(he and the champion are alike in that way). He can always keep you safe, and hold you when he wants to, so it’s a win win situation!

Unedited ass Bath for SMG3 fic moment
I literally didn't proof read this, read w caution <3
it's not really an entire story, just me thinking about a fun scenario bit so read w that in mind
bath for SMG3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“I said I was sorry, okay??!” one could be heard yelling.
“I don’t care! GO! AWAY!” the other yelled back.
“Please! Let… let me help you”
SMG3, sighed. He knew, SMG4 had good intentions, he offered his help honestly. He knew this.
“I’ve had enough of that”
“Wh-! WHAT??”
“I mean, your ‘help’ got my cafe infested with snails”
“Just more of a reason for me to help you!”
“What for?”
“Because we’re-”
“Friends? Oh… friends… Yeah, friends” 3 rolled his eyes “I’ve had enough of your friendship for a while now”
4 heartbroken, not knowing how to answer, took his leave. He couldn’t deal with this.
3 cleaned the cafe on his own, though it’s not like it was getting much traffic at this point. He was… once again stuck in the shadows.
He decided to close early, not like anyone would want to come in anyways. He went to his room, pondering to himself… What should he do now? What else is there for him? Or… will he be once again stuck in the shadows? Well… welcome back, shadows. At least you always take him back. Unconditionally
A few days have passed. 4 was still pissed but… He still could not look away. He didn’t see 3 leave his cafe for days. He didn’t see him open at all. He didn’t see him stream at all. He didn’t reply to the awesome memes he sent him on Discord. He didn’t even come to ask for useless shit that he would do sometimes for some reason. It was almost like he vanished. Nowhere to be found.
“No… no… I should stay calm” he talked to himself “It’s- It’s not like I already saw he was on the brink of breaking nooo! A little mental breakdown wouldn’t bring him down like that! Right… Right? SMG3 is built different… yea” he stared before himself before noticing Tari in the door way.
“Does this bloke always talk to himself?” Clench spoke, as he learned of the name of the hand a few days ago. It was… weird but not the weirdest thing in their universe. Tari glared at him before looking at 4, concern in her eyes.
“Hey… Want to check on SMG3 together? I can see you’re worried about him”
4 eyed the floor intensely. He didn’t realise how sensitive this situation made him. He wanted to cry.
“Yeah… we should…”
He got up, trying to collect himself together as they went to the cafe.
As they opened the door, 4 noted the cafe was as empty as it was their last fight. Their last fight… Why… Why… Why can’t he just help 3? Without causing him trouble. He couldn’t help it as he looked around. The tears felt comforting against his face, emotions pouring out. He missed when this place was filled.
“Hey, 4…” Tari put a hand on his shoulder “I get it but… you have to be strong… for 3”
4 took a deep breath. He really wanted to be strong for him. And do him right at least once, even if that’s the last thing he ever does.
“For 3” 4 smiled at Tari, trying to show that he still had courage. He cared too much not to.
They went to the bookshelf at the back. At this point 4 knew exactly how to get 3 by heart. You couldn’t waste time when you wanted someone’s opinions on your meme afterall. He smiled lightly at the memory as both him and Tari stepped into the elevator. He just couldn’t let go of something so great.
The elevator door opened, revealing the room as dark, only being illuminated by the elevator’s light. 3 didn’t seem to be anywhere.
“S..MG3?” Tari called out, though nervously “We.. want to help!... Whether you like it or not!” her threatening wasn’t too intimidating but at least she got her message across.
But 4 already where he was, eying his bed. He walked up to his bed, lightly putting his hand down on the shape he presumed as 3. The shape seemed to stir lightly at his touch, confirming that there’s one sad man underneath.
“I-... we’re worried about you, 3…” 4 spoke, trying to once again hold back tears. God damn it.
But there was no answer. Tari walked up beside 4.
“Please… 3… uh” Tari started to panic, not sure what else she could say that they didn’t say already “We’re… sorry if we… treated you badly… We do want to help”
“I… I know you hate when I say it” 4 chuckled, thinking about all the times 3 refused to give his pride up “But you said it once that… that we’re friends. You’re not escaping this easily… I know I’m not… always the best for you… which I should be but… I want to make up for it”
4 could see one tired eye peak out, unsure if it’s only red because of 3’s eyes being red, or if the possible exhaustion was adding to it.
“Get.. out”
“No” 4 said, firm.
“Yeah! What he said!” Tari stood with 4 “We ARE your friends”
“I don’t want friends” 3 spoke weakly.
4 was feeling fed up, he was REALLY about to not have it.
“Well, too bad, dipshit! We’re here whether you like it or not!”
Tari wasn’t sure how to add to it. But Clench had ideas, although Tari told him not to butt in for this.
“Rotting in bed won’t fix your life”
Wow. Those words stung. 3 could feel it all too well, as if daggers were stabbed into his soul from every direction.
“Well” he sat up angry “Maybe I don’t want to fix my life! Maybe I’ll rather rot, I’ll rather” he teared up “I rather stay in the shadows”
4 reached his boiling point. Without a word, he grabbed 3 by his collar and dragged him to his bathroom.
“ASSHOLE, WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING???!!” 3 screamed at him but 4 didn’t reply, just dragged him until he could throw him into the bathtub.
“It’s time for a bath” 4 growled. Tari was scared but she followed behind. Clench, while being a hand, still managed to look flabbergasted.
“WHAT?? SMG4 I’M- I’M IN MY CLOTHES- WHAT THE FUCK”
3 squirmed, so 4 got in the bath tub with him, holding him down. It was a bit awkward but whatever, 4 wasn’t thinking about that right now.
“Those need a wash as well anyways” 4 gave 3 that stern look. 3 would usually fight back more but there was something about the way that 4 looked at him that made him hesitate.
“I didn’t want to say but… the smell was pretty bad when we came in” Tari commented “I’m not judging though! Eheh,, it’s just… bad either way you know?”
3 sighed, with his arms folded as 4 started to soak him with the showerhead he had. The warmth of it was weirdly comforting, although just as weird, considering he was fully clothed. 4’s look while not looking any less stern, at least he started looking a little less intimidating. While awkward, Tari found it quite interesting to watch the 2. She knew stuff was intense between them but she didn’t think it got this bad.
She looked at Clench, who seemingly also looked at her, Tari smiling as she thought of doing something. Clench went for 3’s head lightly.
4 looked at him confused. Tari gave him a thumbs up with her free hand.
“What SMG3 is thinking: Maybe this isn’t so bad… hey what is that about how you want to-” suddenly 3 swatted away Clench.
“That’s private”
“Sheesh, dude…”
“What is it?” Tari questioned Clench. 4 also looked curiously. He wondered what 3 wanted to do.
“It’s about how he wants to-”
3 grabbed Clench, not so gently at that.
“Ow ow ow ow ow ow- That hurts”
“Shut your yapper then”
Tari looked at him sad. Clench also gestured sadly but then slowly leaned towards Tari and whispered something to her that made her less sad.
4 was too busy to notice them interacting further as he now focused back on cleaning up 3, although with how it was going, he was getting soaked himself. He didn’t really care though. The times his eyes would meet 3’s, while they didn’t last long… It all felt very intimate. He didn’t exactly get why he was doing this but… He had enough. He reached for shampoo as well, going for 3’s hair, massaging his head.
3 seemed to calm down. 4 was the perfect mix of gentle and firm. He felt a little less gross… A little less angry… A little more inclined to… No. Not that. He couldn’t think of 4 like that.
Regardless he enjoyed it and it was sort of obvious. Especially with how he kind of leaned into it. 4 actually found it kind of sweet in a way. It was obvious enough that Tari saw it too. It was always so special when these 2 were in peace with each other. It always made her wonder what these 2 could be like if they weren’t ever enemies. It’s just part of her fantasies where she imagines a perfect world where they’re perfectly all friends with no problems… She really only thinks about it in hard times… Hard times that could’ve been better if they were to just not argue and get along… And these 2 were pretty much the epitome of that.
4 rinsed off 3’s hair. 3 was practically motionless with how relaxed he got. Or maybe he just realised that fighting back wasn’t an option at this point. Or perhaps it was both.
Tari threw a towel to 4, who then used it to dry 3’s hair. 3 paid such attention to the way 4 was doing that… once again, a perfect blend of firm and gentle… with such seemingly calculated moves, holding him in place. He found himself looking at 4, and 4 looking at him. His face also read peace. He could get lost forever in those eyes… Their connection was like no one else’s… and 3 hated it so much, how true it was.
Tari coughed, catching both of their attention as they stopped staring at each other so intensely. Tari wasn’t ready to third wheel that hard. Though she wondered what would’ve happened if she didn’t alert them.
4 got out of the tub, although at this point he was very much soaked himself too. It was like bathing an overly excited dog. Except it was a grown ass, stinky man who heavily refused at first.
It seemed Tari thought of something as she left the room to do something else. Which left the 2 with each other. After 4 got up from holding 3 down, 3 got up too and took off his overalls, seemingly not really caring that 4 is there. Although he grew flustered when he noticed how 4 was staring at him. 4 realised how that must have looked to 3, now he was feeling embarrassed as well. Now we had 2 men, too embarrassed to look each other in the eyes. 4 thought for a bit, then decided to turn away from facing 3, even covering his face. Though it was interesting how it didn’t occur for him to leave. And that it didn’t occur for 3 to ask him to leave either. Instead, with how intense the air felt, 3 decided it was best to change fast. He was kind of glad now he kept some of his clothes in his bathroom, considering how he had been feeling too lazy to put away a lot of stuff, considering his state. He dressed up, feeling kind of renewed.
“You can turn around, idiot” 3 chuckled.
4 looked. 3 had a simple white shirt and purplee shorts on. A different look, kind of a little too boring for someone like 3 but hey? Who cares, at least he didn’t need to look at him naked.
“What are you calling me an idiot for?”
“Force of habit”
4 thought for a bit.
“Fair enough”
The 2 left the bathroom, the air still felt a little weird with it only being the 2 of them there. They saw that Tari seemed to take out and 3’s bedding. She came back right then.
“Oh hey! I took your blanket and pillows out as they uhm… they need it I think” she scratched her neck.
“Oh! Thanks.. I guess” 3 still wasn’t sure how to feel.
“You’re welcome, 3” Tari smiled warmly. It was weird. 3 felt weird. It was kind of forceful, but both of them were being so kind to him.
“And you’re not gonna thank me?” 4 looked at him, and then pointed at his own clothes, which were still very much soaked.
“What, you want me to give you clothes or something?”
4 stared at him, unsure what to reply.
“You can, if you want, 4” 3 looked away, seemingly blushing.
“Oh- Uh, thanks! I’ll take the offer” 4 awkwardly went back to the bathroom, closing the door after himself.
“Soooo…” Tari got close to him, with Clench speaking, she only had a grin on her face, knowing what he was about to say “You like him, don’t you?”
3 punched Clench into a different shape.
“No manners these days” Clench sobbed. 3 didn’t react further.
“You’re being so mean, 3…” Tari sobbed, holding her hand.
“Whatever” he grumbled.
4 came out of the bathroom after a bit, his outfit sort of mimicking 3’s with a black tee and purple shorts.
“So sorry, I think I’ll need to leave now, I have a Smash score to settle soon, I need to warm up!” Tari said as she went for the elevator. Now it was only 3 and 4.
4 thought for a bit.
“Uh-”
“Don’t say anything” 3 didn’t look at him.
“But- 3…”
“No, I… I think I already gave you enough”
“You, really? I think I helped you more”
“That’s..” 3 facepalmed “That’s not what I meant…”
“Then?”
“I’ve let you in… I was letting you stay… I think you should go… I have to… think about stuff”
“Oh, well…”
3 folded his arms, looking away from 4.
“I see don’t want me to stay… just… one more thing?”
“What?” 3 looked back at him, a bit annoyed, only to be pulled into a hug.
“Don’t make me do this again… It’s not fun worrying this much for you, alright?”
3 wasn’t sure how to react for a bit. It made him crazy. He hugged back. He didn’t remember having such prolonged physical contact for a while now, besides their guardian training sessions.
4 let go of him, looking at him with a small hopeful smile.
“Can you promise me that?” his voice was sweet and small. 3 was going crazy. So so crazy.
“I’ll try, I guess… but only so you don’t do that again…” 3 looked away, not wanting to look so weak. 4 pat him on his shoulder.
“Thanks, man… I hope to see you around. Take your time”
The 2 exchanged one more look, the sort of look that seemed to carry things that couldn’t be mentioned at this point.
4 finally left. Now it was only 3 and his room and oh boy… his head was loud.
He laid down on his bare bed, with nothing on it then. It still managed to be comfortable. He laid on his back, staring at the ceiling.
It was worth it to see 4 look at him like that… Maybe he’ll let 4 do that more… Though he was unsure if 4 would be happy about that.

Two people in nine hours is SUPER ROUGH yes but they did run into red more than once and just didn't kill them so idk I'd be more into it if they really didn't see a single player for any time whatsoever but like. Just because they didn't see bad more than once ISNT the same; I think I just mainly take issue with the fact everyone is trying to give bad a hard time for not fighting while refusing to acknowledge the entire server wanted his head on a platter, why should he 1v12?? Like that's ridiculous how is that even content when he'd get curbstomped against that many people, every time people want to fight him it's only AFTER they gather at least four to six people to take him out like be realistic if you want to 1v1 id be like fuck yea but he knows that where there's one there's the rest of y'all not too far away I just do not get it he's not a coward he's using basic common sense (plus even when people offer a 1v1 they're ALWAYS in a vc telling their team where to go to jump him) that is there's One of him and An Entire Server who wants him Dead good as he is (and tbf i also disagree with etoiles calling their fight from the other day a 1v2 because it wasn't--it started as a 2v2 and fit ran because he almost died (I'm aware of the miscommunication btw I don't blame either of them!!! It really really sucks bc I'm sure etoiles could've escaped) but regardless it WAS a 2v2 that bad didn't even Want to take on initially, it would've stayed that way if fit had stuck around because he was going to die anyways ykwim but to say it was unfair when it didn't start off that way is eh 2 me mostly bc it sounds like they jumped Etoiles off guard as if Etoiles and Fit didn't engage them first) HOWEVER saying all that I think they really should try to encourage PVP in different ways than just "everyone go hunt down this one specific player" because then it's kind of just . Like that encourages that player to just hide because why would they fight that many people? Boosting the kill percentage helps but manhunts don't imo they'll just stay underground the whole time and I don't blame anyone who does outside of even Blue--like when Blue and Green were hunting Red, of course red is going to stay hundreds of blocks away to avoid PvP it's just numbers ykwim idk it's purgatory but when you being killed will set your entire team back because there's significantly less of you then everyone else I don't blame them really and I hope the admins can come up with a different way to try and get fights going

This is gonna be a hot ass take, but don't post art to Ao3. It's not what Ao3 is for, and it's scummy to writers who put their work out there.
And I'm not talking about fics with artwork embedded, that's fine. I'm not even talking about comics, because those involve writing and if they're ongoing I can see why they could work there. I'm talking about people that make a 'work' on Ao3 that's just an embedded image (or a collection of embedded fanart) and nothing else, 0 word count.
Ao3 is the ONLY platform FOR writers. You physically can't post longfic on twitter (I mean maybe in a bazillion tweets, but really?) buttt you can post art on twitter all you want. You can post writing on other sites like tumblr, etc (deviantart? does anyone use it anymore? you shouldn't. anyway) but that's not really what people are LOOKING for on those platforms, and writers will ALWAYS be overshadowed by artists on those platforms because art is easier to consume faster, and anyone scrolling the tags there can scroll past art, appreciate it, like/reblog it in a second rather than taking the commitment to read something (that may take hours to consume) and THEN coming back to like/reblog it/otherwise interact with it.
That's kinda just the nature of writing vs art, and it is what it is.
But people come to Ao3 SPECIFICALLY for writing. It's the ONE platform (I mean barring older stuff like ff.net that's pretty much defunct) where people go specifically looking for writing to consume.
'Okay I get it Kai, but one person putting art on Ao3 doesn't hurt anyone or take away from the writers on there, they're all... there.'
Alas, it does.
In a much smaller fandom I wrote in, one of my more successful fics was on the first page of search results for that fandom when sorted by hits (which is the most popular way to sort 'em and really the only way older fics are found), up until a popular fan artist posted a work on Ao3 that was just a collection of embedded fanart pieces (that they'd already posted on twitter and had been seen there and were very popular) and that very quickly knocked my work off the first page of hits. So, my work was seen less because that artist just decided to repost to a platform primarily for writers. Yea, you're gonna bet that upset me.
'Kai you're just jealous their art was better than your writing'
'Kay not gonna deny it probably was. But their art had already been seen/was really popular on another platform that I, as a writer, didn't even have access to. Doesn't feel great for them to come into the writer's space and also then overshadow. Because again, art is easier to consume. it's always gonna be, that's the POINT of having a site like Ao3 where writers can shine. Fine fine, call me cranky for being bumped, but I wouldn't have cared at all if it were by another fic.
'You can sort out works with 0 words you know'
Yea, sure. Does everyone just visiting Ao3 know how to do that? And again, that's not the default. If you just click on the fandom without doing anything, it doesn't.
Now imagine you're not on the first page, and still had a work in that fandom and your work was on page 10 or whatever for that fandom (again it was a small one). You're now on page 11. Very few people have the patience to search that far back, and now you aren't been seen at all because you got bumped by a popular artist. This isn't something that happens on twitter or other platforms - everyone's bound by the silly algorithm / time on twitter, and time on tumblr. it's a LEVEL playing field. it isn't really on Ao3. Yes, there's sort by 'most recent' and that's all fair, but by hits, kudos etc isn't.
So yes, when those sort functions are taken into consideration, artists posting on Ao3 really do hurt writers, and take space away from them, make smaller writers less seen, etc. It sucks.
There's plenty of other places to post your art. I know, there's fewer places to post NSFW works now and get feedback on them (unfortunately) but Ao3 doesn't even host the images anyway... you have to upload them somewhere else! there are other options. Don't take space from writers because sites like tumblr aren't good for NSFW anymore.
Again this is gonna be a super hot take, but that's how I feel and I lose respect for artists real quick when they do this. No shade, I'm not trying to call anyone out, this isn't specifically directed at anyone, just something that I've seen repeatedly and has been milling around in my head for years now. Disagree if you like, but I'm not looking to get into fights in the rbs so.

Y’all i wanted to make another post on episode 6 cause after rewatching that heartbreaking sandray scene over and over again I noticed something that is super important for their dynamic. HEADS UP THIS IS POST IS ABOUT SANDRAY ONLY
okay so let’s dive in:
We know that the fight was the cause of Ray being disgusted over the recording and finding out that Top is in fact playing/ or was playing with Mew. Add a little alcohol & drugs to that mix and you get the mess that was Ray’s exposing. So let’s also remember that the pool scene had Ray sort of happy because he thought sand was finally going to want to address their situationship hence him asking, “you only called me out to play pool?” Which led to sand saying, “no, I want to talk about Mew.” Followed by a very taken back reaction from Ray. He then asks, “are you not okay that i like him” which leads me to think that maybe Ray is thinking, I hope me liking me best friend won’t ruin a friendship or potential future relationship with the guy I’m slowly falling for. Sand in this whole interaction is being very badly dismissive of his obvious feelings for Ray. I think at this point, Ray knows Sand likes him. And Ray possibly does too, maybe not as much as Sand but he definitely feels some type of way towards him.
Anyway, we know where that scene leads. Back to the argument. The painful argument which is breaking all our hearts. I’m leaving this:
because it is very important. In the midst of all the chaos created by hurt, which may i add; i don’t think it was just his feelings for Mew and the anger he felt about knowing the situation on Top & Boston but the constant teasing by his so called friends of him not having a lover or anyone by his side compared to them. All that bottled up and he finally exploded. I saw on many posts on here how his friends literally let him leave while intoxicated which i agree & in my opinion is very insensitive. Of course, Sand goes after him.
Getting to the point of the picture above. Look at his face. Literally translates to: “are you fucking kidding me? After all that? Yea bullshit.” Not only does he not believe Sand in the moment but he looks so sad. At this point this is a confession from Sand. But Ray doesn’t believe it. He says “why are you butting into my business?” Followed by:

Sand again, doesn’t stick to his heart or feelings. He dismissed it yet again by saying, “we’re nothing” as you saw above in the clip. Ray is frustrated at this point. Maybe not the perfect time or moment for a confession but I feel that’s what he wanted, needed in that moment. After hearing Sand say, “we’re nothing” “risk your own life but not others” he’s done. His reaction: heartbroken. Yet again, no one gives a damn about him. That’s all that he’s thinking right now. Despite Sand’s clear & obvious actions he doesn’t believe Sand feels any different towards him like everyone else. This pain all leads to him treating sand like a literal whore, trash. He’s nothing to him cause that’s all he’s ever been from the start (in his mind) I sensed a little regret when he tossed Sand to the floor but let’s not forget he’s hurting over many things: the situation with Mew, his friends, Sand, and most importantly himself.
Next episode we might get an insight on to who Ray really is, hopefully. I’m nervous, excited, scared, anxious to see what’s in store for this couple. I hope they’re able to communicate better & really start confessing if they feel something for each other, which they obviously do.

YEAH niki is such a straightforward character and she doesn't suffer the timewasting and arrogance of politics compared to so many other characters and so when her name gets pulled, she knows her odds of making it are just too low and she can't be bothered bullshitting that. she's not going to get up there and prance around for the cameras and pretend that everything is okay. it's not okay. she's not even a good liar in the first place. she has her parents presumably back home and a few friends in 12 so there's not much she can do, but there's a certain point where she just can't bring herself to participate. and then she finds wilbur, and the entire situation flips.
he is depending on her!! niki made peace with the idea of her own death as soon as her name was called at the reaping but this is an entire tidal wave of emotions that she already cannot compute. like the worst kind of grief and anger and survivors guilt. and if she loses, no one will rescue him. no one will even know he's there. and then that too, that's gonna be her fault. and even then, she gets these flashes of absolute rage...
she's so fucking lucky she has jack as a mentor to remind her of exactly the right way to smile so they can't see how tightly you clench your jaw. hbomb giving her these intricate hand braces so she can't visibly clench her fists when she talks so sweetly about winning the games and going home to her friends and making her district proud. and then she gets back to the tribute living spaces and tears her room apart in a whirlwind of burning anger, and then stays up late putting every stupid knick knack back together in case rumours spread because she needs to keep her reputation as the Sweet, Kind, Nicey Nice Girl from district 12 intact to win over sponsors.
and yea the forest fire is fucking traumatising. i can't remember if this is a canon hunger games thing or if my brain saw some fanon eight years ago and is running with it but i imagine once you win the games they slap all that megahealing shit into you so she wakes up in some private capitol hospital room and, beyond what she even thought was possible, the burns are gone. and she doesn't even know how that works but they must have done a pretty shit job because she can still fucking feel the fire beneath her skin.
you won and you got out! she gets wilbur out. maybe. but it's only really after the games that she realises she's never gonna be able to go home again. she should feel relieved to be alive at least, but all she feels is burning and a miserable, endless pit in her chest instead.
A SHAKEN UP SODA BOTTLE..... you're so fucking right KSHKDHDKD. wilbur is v interesting to me because like.... i think there's a bitter and hurting part of him that still blames himself above anyone else for getting caught. but he's been here for seven years. he has seen some horrible shit happen. wilbur has a tendency for self-hatred but he's not massively easily manipulated until someone is pushing him towards something he already wanted (thinking of how dream treated him in pogtopia.)
i think niki being reaped is a tipping point for him. like, he's not stupid. he's walked into the last seven years of reapings going not niki, and then not niki, not fundy, and then not niki not fundy please god not tommy and so on. and then the worst outcome happens, and niki barely manages to survive but only by swallowing her own voice and going through some terrible shit. wilbur saw that, he got to see it on live TV while pouring wine and retrieving stupidly rich food for stupidly rich people while he remembers arguing with tommy about whether they could eat a possum because at the time, that was their best option. it is one thing for him to be here. he has accepted that as his own fault (even if he probably shouldn't). but shoving niki through the meatgrinder? his kind, clever niki, who (in wilbur's eyes) has done nothing wrong in her entire fucking life? something needs to change, and he will bend steel with his bare fucking hands to make it happen.
now, to figure out how to do all that and actually stay alive.
the thing with wilbur that always stands out to me is that he's a character in motion. he doesn't stop. i think after being captured and having his tongue cut out and being tortured, he would obviously suffer greatly - but he wouldn't stop. his voice meant everything to him, and even though it's physically gone, part of him so venerates its absence that he cannot stop himself from trying to sustain it, to "bring it back", even if it sounds different now. even if it's all locked away in his mind. now, that is where he keeps everything he wants to say. he keeps his mind sharp over those years - reciting the names and birthdays of his friends in 12 so he doesn't forget them, tracing words across the wall when he's supposed to be sleeping so his handwriting stays neat enough to read. he's waiting, he just doesn't know for what.
and then niki is reaped. that's what.

saw someone describe mayoi + shinobu as “mayoi says something weird and shinobu just says ok” which is like Not Inaccurate but still misrepresentative enough to lead to bad interpretations so clarification for the folks. and if u do ship mayoshino or wtv thats not my business but i think if u see ppl interpret it romantically you should be informed on canon before u cast judgement
anyways while shinobu is accepting of mayoi and capable of deciphering his true intent behind his words, he also very much does not let EVERYTBINNG fly by. in motor show, shinobu on multiple occasion does tell mayoi hes going too far. first when he is talking to kanata and mayoi interrupts wherein shinobu clarifies hes doing something rn and doesnt want to be interrupted. secondly is when shinobu changes into his outfit and mayoi keeps hugging / holding him where he warns him against doing it, saying that he is more tolerant of mayoi but to anyone else it would be violating their boundaries. like yea shinobu knows and does tell mayoi if he goes overboard.
now i understand these arent the most flattering examples. it still casts mayoi in a creepy light. it could even be argued as portraying a mentally ill person like mayoi as incapable of controlling himself for better or for worse. however it is what it is. i do think and restate that mayois extremely intense feelings towards people like shinobu arising from his own past can be unhealthy, can hinder his relationships from being formed and even violate the actual boundaries of others in his hurry to protect them or excitement at “pure” things. im not denying it. im just stating that on shinobus end he does have boundaries he enforces
personally i find that mayoi centric stories generally write him with more depth than either just a phantom or weirdo but eh mayoi fans lose forever... i find in motor show mayoi is written more like a unrestrained creep which is quite different from how he is in dead end land but thats for another day anyways shrugs

You know, its big gay month so I may as well give some thoughts on my end of things. Cause why not right?
Just forewarning, I am not well versed into all the stuff surrounding LGBTQ+, the concept of it is still new but its one I welcome full heartedly. Just, this is just raw ramblings from someone that doesn't know much, so yea
Anyway, so recently I have been questioning myself and who I am a lot, specifically towards the idea of Transgender and all of that.
I dont exactly hate being who I am, I don't really feel as if something is deelpy wrong with me but the best way I'd describe it is a feeling of yearning.
I sometimes just think about being someone different sometimes, and I sometimes wonder how awesome it'd be to experience things from this side. Hell maybe I'm not even trans but just gay. Who the hell knows?? I sure fuckin dont.
But its weird, sometimes i think about how my life went and wonder if I was exposed stuff when I was much younger if I wouldve come out as like, gay, trans or whatever the hell else. Its really wacky.
I guess thats what growing up under a christian household does to someone, now granted my parents were always super chill about the topic, but still, it wasnt a taboo topic just something I never got exposed to uptil I was much older.
Anyway, I guess my conclusion to all of my confusion is that I am who I am. I don't know if there is a label that would describe who or where or what I am, and tbh I'd rather keep it that way.
I like to think that anyone can be anything in this world, and no one or nothing should take that away from you. Maybe you know who you are, maybe you dont, but you should always just let yourself just be. Cause to me we're all just humans trying to get by, trying to understand what the fuck is going on. And far as I'm concerned, you can call yourself a swarm of mandevouring ducklings in a coat and I'll still treat you just like I would anyone else.
Anyway yeah point is uhhh. Y'all are based as fuck and be whatever the fuck you want cause at the end of the day it matters the most to you.

okay, so i'm picturing during this time, shu was still pretty naive, at least in comparison to his current self.
though, it makes a lot of sense for him to get in trouble at school due to his lack of like.. wanting to do things. he’s still a kid, or at least he wants to be. and this is most likely before uhhh the whole.. polar bear thing so he doesn’t know the extremities of his father’s consequences,,,
anyway. he knows he’s going to be in trouble. he’ll just deal with it. but, once he sees his step-mother?? (who he genuinely sees as a mother as opposed to all of karl’s other wives,, bc she’s actually nice to them)
shu isn’t sure whether or not he should be relieved because this means he’s not going to get reprimanded, as he definitely expected literally anyone but his stepmom,, there’s also a part of him that almost feels guilty?
i mean, what can you expect? shu truly doesn’t want to disappoint his stepmother, who has basically (assumingly???) been the only one to actually praise him and even just show him affection. so yea, he feels kind of bad. he doesn’t want to let her down, specifically.
the guilt only grows more once the principal starts getting a little bold, i guess you could say
at first, shu doesn’t really pick up on the flirting- he’s not an idiot, but his stepmother is quite charming, so it’s understandable? he guesses?? he isn’t slow to notice the sudden shift of mood from his stepmother, either. even if she hides it well, he’ll pick up on any sort of discomfort, and it concerns him.
shu eventually insists on sticking up for his stepmother, at least in the best way he can without causing a scene. as i said, shu isn’t stupid, he knows that the principal literally just threatened her, and he knows it was wrong
he jumps in right away, trying to reassure both his stepmom and the principal that it’s not going to happen again. he does want to threaten the principal in return, but he doesn’t want anything to escalate
now, in this situation, i’m guessing they end up leaving anyways, because like ?? what’s the principal gonna do?? hold everyone hostage???
so.. yeah. that happens. and after it happens, shu honestly feels horrible about it. he’s not worried about his own education or anything, he just feels bad that his stepmother had to go through this, specifically because of him.

so.. if such thing were to happen, reiji would straight up be distraught over it. not specifically the harassment of his stepmother (which is something he’s not happy about either but what comes first for reiji is those grades)
the amount of self hatred he feels for this?? he has no idea how it even happened. he’s always done his best, and has never been in trouble before so that kind of is,, his main worry;;
if reiji did actually do something to get in trouble, i doubt it would be over grades. and if that were the case, i’m not sure he’d own up to it. or any of it at all, actually. he’s persistent that he’s done nothing wrong.
now, once the principal comes in with all of the threats and whatnot? reiji is livid. it’s amazing how angry he is, honestly.
like, such a young little thing to feel so much wrath? uhmm yikes. rip.
he looses his composure just a bit, you’ll notice that he’s really on edge because he knows the principal is full of it-

reiji tries to hide how upset he is, but his stepmother knows him well enough that he’s lowkey livid. he keeps it together for the most part, though
he doesn’t actually acknowledge the reason for her being there, but he does say that the principal doesn’t matter- the stepmother, in the long run, ultimately has more power. i mean, she’s married to his father. a king. there’s no way some school principal is going to be more powerful than that.
