synopsis: a first date with gojo satoru? maybe... or maybe not... content: canon divergence (still teen!gojo era!), fem!reader, hopeless romantic gojo, best bros satoru and suguru bickering as always, gojo has given you a nickname (and I will now claim reader and gojo as "gojo and his mochi"), unimpressed nanami, not beta read (sorry for any errors!) note: another addition to my gojo anthology series! I'm having sm fun writing these lil things for myself and you all! also... should I start a tag list? lmk in the replies!

"Nanami Kento, Haibara Yu, and," Yaga Masamichi introduced before gesturing in your direction, speaking your name. "You may know the first two already but we've got another sorcerer to the school roster." Continuing his speech towards his three students that sat before him, Suguru and Shoko listened closely, eyeing a brooding Kento and a smiley Yu... while Satoru gazed at you with the biggest heart eyes. He didn't seem to care if he was obvious, after his first interaction with you ever (possibly the best moment of his life), he made it his goal to see you at least once a day. If you were away on missions, or busy during a lecture, he'd find a way to see you... even if it was from afar. "I want you three to mentor them from now on. Each of you teaming up with one of them and spending at least an hour a day to help them boost up their technique—"

"I'll be partnered up with mochi!" Gojo exclaimed, interrupting his teacher with a hand in the air.

"What's the point of raising your hand if you're gonna interrupt anyway?" Geto teased, earning a look from his best friend as he stuck out his tongue.

"Who... is mochi?" Yaga asked, pinching the bridge of his nose, never quite getting used to his white haired student.

Pointing at you and speaking your name, you stood there with wide eyes and a blush. You weren't new to Gojo's behavior, after you first met him (helping you rescue your now kitten off a tree), you had plenty of... interesting interactions. At first, it was a lot to take in, seeing as he was very eccentric and grew really comfortable with you so easily, but after some time, you grew comfortable with it. With him. However, him calling you one of his favorite treats was a first. "She's cute like a mochi—"

"Oh, god..." Shoko shook her head as Suguru raised his eyebrows.

"That's a first," Yu spoke up, covering his mouth as he couldn't help but chuckle.

"No," the shared teacher spoke. "You will not be paired with her—"

"What! Why not?! We're best friends!" Satoru whined as you looked away with a subtle blush.

"Psht, that's harsh, am I now forgotten?" Suguru crossed his arms, leaning back in his seat. "What if I want to team up with mochi?" The young man smirked, earning a scowl from his best friend.

"Never call her that again," Gojo hissed, earning a laugh from Geto.

"Enough, you two, she will be partnered up with Shoko. Knowing you two, you'd end up getting her hurt somehow," earning a gasp from the two boys, you couldn't help but smile, biting your bottom lip at the way they reacted. "I trust Nanami and Haibara will be fine in either of your care."

"Ugh," Gojo groaned.

"I suppose that's fair," Geto shrugged, earning a shove from Gojo in which he shoved back. "Who are we teamed up with, then?"

"Geto, you'll be paired up with Haibara," hearing a faint cheer come from Yu, Kento only sighed, rubbing his forehead. "Which means Gojo, you'll be paired up with Nanami."

"Well, if I can't have my mochi, I guess Nanamin is fine!" Gojo crossed his arms behind his head. "No offense, Haibara! Nanamin is just great company to tease," he grinned, earning an eye roll from the young, blond man.

"Perfect, today will be your first day. Report back here in an hour. Get to know one another's abilities better." At that, Yaga dismissed the class, Shoko rushing up to you and interlocking arms as she pulled you out with her. You couldn't help but look back at Satoru, seeing his grin towards Kento turn into a frown as he looked at you. Sending him a small smile and wave, he waved back, happy that he at least got your attention for the time being.

Weeks then passed after Yaga paired everyone off, though it didn't change how things went—specifically missions—Gojo found another reason to see you. At least, another way to see you. Shoko's RCT required her to be in specific places, so he was well aware of where to find you when he wasn't with his own classmates. Nanami, on the occasion, was dragged along. Forced to watch his senior poorly flirt with you when you (shockingly) didn't seem too bothered by it. Instead, it made you flustered. You seemed to have enjoyed Satoru's attention. Of course, it never lasted long with Ieiri kicking both boys out (or just Gojo if he was the only one there) because she was busy being a good mentor and teaching you.

"I'm bored," Satoru whined as he sat on a bench, eyeing Kento as he trained on the open field. "This pairing up thing isn't all that fun."

"That's because you're not doing your job as my senior," Nanami spoke with a lack of enthusiasm.

"What's there to teach you? You're good as it is," he waved a hand as he sipped at his milk box. "I just wanna see my mochi..."

Sighing, Nanami shook his head before lifting it from his palm as he massaged his temples. A faint smile grew on his lips at the sight of you approaching, it seemed as if Shoko had lead the way before parting to go on her own route. You waved happily as he waved back, only to look at his senior to see that he hadn't noticed you. Grinning, Nanami quietly made his way towards you, his fellow classmate. To anyones shock, the two of you actually grew close. You saw one another like siblings, getting along quite well and actually maintaining interesting conversations. No one would've figured, he was a quiet boy and only really spoke when spoken to, but you brought something out of him. You always found something to speak about. Maybe it was your shared love for baked goods, or the possibility that you weren't annoying like most of the people around him. You were timid, but you were also very kind and social with those you were comfortable with. "How'd it go today?"

"Good, Shoko is very skilled, it's a shame we don't focus much on her technique. RCT is very important, no one does it like her." Smiling up at him as the two of you bumped fists, you then peeked over to Satoru, who was now lying on the bench, completely unaware of your presence. "Is he okay?"

"Being lazy as always," Nanami shrugged, but you slightly frowned. "Don't worry about it."

"What are you two babbling about?!" Gojo called out, not realizing who he had been yelling at.

"I'll catch you later..." the blond said before patting your head, then walking away.

"Hey, I asked you a—" Sitting up and realizing who he had been yelling at, Gojo's eyes widened as he gulped. "Mochi!"

"Hi, Satoru," you greeted with a kind smile, causing him to blush. "Long day?"

Instantly standing up, nearly tripping over his own feet, he shook his head. "No! I was just... taking a break! Y'know... training others can be so tiring," he frowned while slumping forward as you let out a small laugh. "Especially someone as skilled as Nanamin!"

"Right," You nodded. "I hadn't seen you all day. I was thinking..."

Blinking a few times as he watched you approach, Gojo gulped, "yeah?"

"We should get an early dinner—"

"Now?" His eyes widen as he stood straight, earning another laugh from you.

"Mhm, or later, whatever you prefer—"

"Now! Now is good," He nodded, meeting you halfway before he wrapped an arm around your shoulders. "I know the perfect place! Plus, right next door, they sell some delicious mochi..." He grinned as you smiled up at him.

"Is this our first date?" Gojo teased as you sat on a bench, sharing a box of mochi. The dinner was as great as he had promised, a cute little restaurant that Gojo frequented. Satoru tried his best to impress you with his cooking skills, only to burn half of what he ordered. You couldn't help but laugh it off, deciding to cook the rest—in which he praised your skills (and promised to improve his own for the next time). For someone trying to do some impressing, he's constantly teetering between being shy and letting his confidence kick in (even if it was false, trying to win you over).

"Hmm, I was the one who asked to go to dinner," you said, biting into your mochi. "Shouldn't I decide that?"

"Wait!" Gojo lifted his hands, pulling the box of mochi away as you tilted your head. "I took us here to get our dessert," he nudged his head back, towards the stand.

"So..." you trailed.

"So... this could be our first date!" He beamed, earning a look from you as you playfully lifted an eyebrow.

"Maybe."

“Baby, come quick!”

You were standing inside the kitchen, cutting up a watermelon into small chunks for your five and two year old children while Joel kept watch over them outside in the pool.

Dropping your knife as safely as you could manage with worry coursing through your veins, you ran outside, sure that you were going to have to rescue your drowning children, but instead finding your youngest, Miles, swimming across the shallow end to his father. Cracking a big grin, you crouched down by the edge of the pool behind where Joel waited in the water to watch Miles, his Star Wars themed floaties wrapped around his chubby little arms and a big toothy grin on his face.

“Good job, Milo,” Joel exclaimed, using a nickname the two of you had initially sworn off using, but that remained lodged into your daily vocabulary anyways.

“Those swimming lessons are paying off,” you added, adjusting yourself so that you were sitting down on the edge with your feet in the water. Iris, your five year old, came over from where she had been sitting beneath the shade, playing with her dolls. She stood behind you and draped her arms around your neck.

“Mama, where’s the watermelon?” she asked, trying her hardest not to whine. Joel lifted Miles out of the water and sat him on his shoulders, forcing the child into a giggle fit as he turned to face you.

“Yeah, mama,” he grinned. “Where’s the watermelon?”

“I was in the middle of cutting it when you scared me,” you answered, tilting your head at him sassily.

“I’m hungry,” Iris persisted, this time unable to hide her impatience.

You sighed and stood up, watching as Joel gave you an empathetic look as you walked inside with your daughter in tow to help you out. Iris held the big bowl of watermelon in both her arms while you carried three juice boxes and a beer for Joel in one arm and a bag of chips in the other. Joel and Miles we’re already sat at the patio table, dripping from the pool and eagerly awaiting the lunch you’d prepared for them.

“Gotta go grab the sandwiches,” you announced as you sat down the drinks and chips.

“Let me, baby,” Joel offered, standing up quicker than you could stop him. “Sit down, relax.”

“Mama, I can’t get my straw in,” Iris whined again, the sun clearly making her cranky. You gave Joel a knowing look before moving to help your child.

“Today’s not a relaxing kind of day for me, I guess,” you mumbled under your breath, hating that your exhaustion was ruining an otherwise lovely summer afternoon. Joel frowned and kissed the crown of your head as he passed behind you to go into the house to grab the sandwiches, leaving you to keep the kids occupied.

After finally getting Iris to eat her sandwich—she wasn’t happy that she was getting turkey instead of chicken—the kids were put down for the afternoon naps. You stood in the laundry room, moving the freshly washed load into the dryer so that you could wash the next batch, but before you could get started on it, two large, warm palms rested on your shoulders from behind you. You let out an exhale of relief as Joel started to knead at your tense muscles until you melted back against him.

“Time to relax,” his husked into the shell of your ear.

“Gotta do this load so Iris has her stuff washed for ballet tomorrow,” you mumbled, lazy and lost in the feeling of his hands on you.

“I’ll do it,” he promised as he pressed a kiss to your temple. “Go sit down, put a movie on. I’ll be right there.”

“Ba—“

“No,” he shook his head and used his hands on your shoulders to walk you out of the laundry room and into the living room. “Sit.”

“Yes, sir,” you smiled and took your usual seat, grabbing the throw blanket that laid over the back of the couch and unfolded it over your legs while Joel went back to the laundry.

You curled up on your side, flipping through channels until you saw that Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid was playing, and you were lucky enough to have caught it close to the start.

“You know me so well,” Joel smiled at you as he entered the room, finding his place on the couch, squeezing in behind you to hold you as you watched the movie.

“Paul Newman is so—“

“Dreamy, I know,” Joel chuckled against the shell of your ear, his palm flattening over the sliver of exposed skin between the hem of your tank top and waistline of your pajama shorts. “This movie’s gonna get you worked up.”

“You’re getting me worked up,” you corrected, smiling at the chills trickling down your arms from the simple contact of his skin on your hip.

“Am I?” he teased, kissing your neck before grazing his teeth against your earlobe. You hummed and nodded, closing your eyes to relish in his touch. “Good.”

Joel pressed himself into you, the thin material of his shorts doing little to contain the swelling of his girth as he continued to rock against you slowly. Hush EA Spoilers.

WOAAHHH OKAY I AM GENUINELY TWEAKING WTF WAS THAT??? /POS

OKAY. okay. a LOT to unpack here holy shit

first off, loving the soft Hush and Doc interactions at the beginning, the babygirl is learning! i love them ahsgajdh and Hush asking Doc to hold his hand :(((

VEGAS REFORMING. oh. wow.

it sounds like Hush only pulled together the parts of Vega from before the Cacophony ended. he has a better(?) view of humans, and he doesnt seem so vindictive of them as of yet

one thing that caught my attention is that Vega said "I am the first-formed of Gravity." he's one of the first demons. i even theorized as much in my last tinfoil hat post (therefore it is my legal right to say "HAH! called it!") that makes the Sovereign's cruelness towards demons even more sad, cuz he knew what they were like before they were evil n shit

another thing that Vega said was that he was the "Anacrusis of his (D'Deridahn's) Phrase." (this is referring to when he's repeating his whole name). again, we already know that "anacrusis" means "one or more unstressed syllables at the beginning of a verse."

i said in an earlier theory that the term "Anacruses" might be a fancy title for old demons. Vega said he's the "Anacrusis of [D'Deridahn's] Phrase." so, i think in some aspects, i was right, but "Anacruses" is more specific: it refers to the first demon created by a Sovereign; the "Phrase" in question being the line of demons created by that Sovereign, and the Anacrusis of that phrase being the first demon. do you see where im going with this?

speaking of lines, Vega said "When you made the Well. When you formed the line."

now, the obvious jump we can make with this is that Hush is the one who created the Elision Well in Aria. we already know from previous audios that Hush was someone else before he was Hush. he maintains that he was created (recently) by the Sovereigns, but Vega calling him "Egregore of the Sovereigns" clearly says that Hush indeed was someone else beforehand

whats interesting is that Vega doesnt say that Hush (or Egregore) is a Sovereign; he says "of the Sovereigns," which is funny because Egregore sounds like a very Sovereign-esque name, not a star's name like a demon's. looks like Egregore is a creation of the Sovereigns too, but what is he? is he the same as Hush, the silence in the spellsong? or is he something completely different, like a lesser Sovereign, or the first demon? could the naming conventions have been different back then? or maybe, its the opposite direction, with Egregore being an angel-type character?

and what is the "line" that Vega refers to? i assume that it has to do with the Well, considering that he says, "When you made the Well. When you formed the line." maybe its the line of yet-to-be-formed demons, lying in wait just beyond perceptibility?? we dont know why demons have kept forming in the Well after the Sovereigns were chained to Death, Avior said as much im sure; and granted, we dont even know how or why the Well was formed in the first place, but we do now know that Hush/Egregore was responsible for it

wrapping this up with YIPPEE THEYRE GONNA GO FIND WARDEN!! THEYRE GONNA GO LOOK FOR MY BABYGIRL!!!! i love Warden sm, they have a special place in my heart augh. cant wait for Hush to show up with their presumed dead situationship and be like "can you fix him 🥺🥺🥺" and for Warden to be like "WHAT THE FUCK??!" need to see them get angry on god frfr

in conclusion, Hush reforms Vega, Vega drops some Hush lore while also being an amnesiac, and sends all the theorizers of the fandom into a tail-spin trying to figure the meaning of the cryptic titles he keeps spitting out. uhhh damn thats crazy. anyways, thank you for coming to my ted talk, and remember: its just a theory (a game theory–)

Coming out of the woods to talk about Across the Spider Verse, and specifically a comparison of Insomniac Spider Man and Miles that’s been made. Spoilers ahead.

People have been comparing Insomniac SM(hence force pete) to miles on the basis of Pete’s big decision to not cure aunt May and save everyone else instead as the opposite of what miles is doing and I feel like that is a gross oversimplification of both of their scenarios. I do think Pete could end up siding with Miguel(in as much as the version of Pete in the movie is probably only tangentially canonical to game Pete) but I think that his reasons would be based on the assumption that Miguel knows what he’s talking about has actually researched it, which I think may be false

Anyway, Pete at the end of Insomniac’s game is faced with the decision to save aunt May and let everyone else in New York die, or hold onto the cure so it can be spread. He knows the exact ramifications of his actions, he knows the science and that without this dose of a cure there is no chance to save anyone else. He has no other options, either save May and let everyone else die, or save everyone except for May. Pete is also an adult and professional scientist who has a full understanding of his situation.

Miles is a child, very intelligent but still learning, who has been having turmoil with his parents throughout the movie. He wants to repair their relationship, but isn’t sure how to without revealing his identity and isn’t even sure that revealing his identity as spider-man would fix things. Facing this, he also is dealing with insecurity as a spider-man. Gwen hasn’t visited him, she’s keeping secrets from him, she’s hanging out with another spider-man who may be a romantic rival, and he was never invited to join the multiverse club. Facing that, he’s told by an iteration of Spider-man he’s never met before, who treats him callously and with no empathy while explaining the situation to him, and then expects him to obey him immediately. Miles is already on the outs, has very little reason to trust Miguel, and is not really given any choice in the matter. While the other spider-people largely accept that Miguel is right about canon events, the question is raised how sure he is and it does not appear that Miguel has looked for any alternatives or done any actual research, instead just operating based on the data from the world he collapsed. Even if this isn’t true, he doesn’t give Miles any reason to believe he’s worked exhaustively to look for alternatives. Miguel’s whole vibe is “man defeated by the world, doing what has to be done based on his pessimistic worldview, unwilling to try and be hopeful again”. So ultimately, Miles isn’t choosing to save his dad and damn his world, Miles is saying that he can’t standby and let someone he loves die when there is a chance he can save everyone.

Miles is fighting for the opportunity to save his dad and his world, banking on the ambiguity of the science behind the multiverse and his abilities as Spider-Man to find a way to hold his world together. There was no ambiguity in Pete’s situation. It was a true dead end, he knew all the stakes and knew what was possible, and made a choice within those confines.

Ever since Jung Kook transferred into my homeroom class from korea Biden-chan has been hanging out with him. I really thought we had a blossoming romance until him. Everyone keeps saying how they have a perfect shoujo love story, though i still have hope since theyre not official. Me and Joe have (thankfully) still become good friends despite Jung Kook, hanging out after school and doing volleyball practice together! i just love biden senpais face when hes focused, with sweat dripping off his sexy wrinkles as he deflects the ball with perfect form, its just so... cute!

Now im gonna be honest here. I only joined volleyball to see him, im not fully versed in the rules, but on the bright side whenever i kick the ball and get disqualified joe-chan always comes and calms me. His voice is soothing, deep yet cheerful, loving, and raspy. His words float out of his mouth perfectly, always knowing what to say. I lean on his shoulder and take in his musky scent, i dont think i could ever get sick of him.

3rd one part 2:

Today me and joe senpai were practicing in the gym as normal WHEN JUNG KOOK STORMS IN

A tear runs down his face

My tears stop. I look at him confused.

I ask.

"Why yes, why do u think i hang out with jung kook all the time?"

"Because u hate me? Becuase i will never be good enough for you? Becuase everyone knows ur in love with jung kook?"

He chuckles softly

"No sweetness, it is because i needed something to distract me... From you"

"Huh?"

"How could i ever love jung kook when i only have eyes for you? Ur wonderful, loving and an excellent fellowamerican"

I cannot believe it. Before i can say i feel the same a blairing alarms interrupts me. The buildings automatic sprinklers goes off, soaking the both of us. As we run out of the building I see jung kook holding a lighter over the fire alarm.

the sheer perfection of how well these verses fit. besides hange i think that second one could also fit Levi being propped up on the rock and seeing his comrades’ ‘extinction’? their visages fading away in the steam?

and these lyrics outline how he’s getting older, the war very much ended and yet Levi is still in the same frame of mind. he can’t move on.

and love how near the end of the song

it’s easy to imagine a whole postwar plot of Levi giving in to his demons and not fighting anymore. the whole GET UP COWARD breakdown hits so good.

Red Velvet - The ReVe Festival Finale

Okay I’m SO curious what the average of these songs is. Let’s do the math here: 7.1. That’s interesting, but I guess that’s right. The bad songs felt so off to me, the title tracks are good, the last song was Excellent. In terms of the broader SM picture, this felt more like a spiritual successor to the earlier groups than SNSD, and I don’t mean that in a good way. This album was a Slog, except instead of slow jams, it was creepy. That said, the good songs are miles better than the stuff you’d get out of Shinvi or M.I.L.K., so that is progress.

Maybe aespa’s concept can be tracked back to Red Velvet, actually. SM liked the creepy parts of RV so much that they decided to make creepy the entirety of aespa’s vibe.

Yeah yeah I know this is a compilation album, and probably one of Red Velvet’s less important releases, but 1) the timeline was looking really empty around this period and 2) I want something that’s gonna have some red and some velvet, and this album seemed like a good way to do that, based on the title tracks. Speaking of, I know the title tracks and nothing else. I’m not gonna watch the MV’s because I’m lazy.

Psycho

I never totally got the hype behind this song. Kinda like the entire Chill Kill album for me

Maybe I’m just not a velvet kinda guy

I’d probably like velvet songs better with lyrics, like this would be fun to sing along to

Also I’ve never been a huge fan of RV rap sections?

The pre-chorus is excellent, I’ll give it that

And that last “everything will be okay” in the bridge is nice

This really is a good song, it’s like Solid. I listen to this song all the time, but it’s not like, Big for me

Why does this feel like Zoom to me?

The verses feel … disconnected. Like, there’s space everywhere

The chorus is more flowy, but there’s still staccatos everywhere

Woahhh the second verse is Hot

I think I like this song?

I dunno. It’s kind of hard to get into with all of the Stops, and the chorus isn’t the catchiest

But like I love the way it Sounds

Which usually means I just need to listen to it more

Yeah, still not totally convinced by the chorus though

8/10, very solid, I think I’ll grow to like this song

Strings, horns - and then they disappear in favor of smooth vocals

They do come back, that’s nice

Allll the harmonies. If you’re a fan of cute vocal harmonies, then Red Velvet are the group for you

This whole album has been really echoey so far. Like I feel Space

Yeah I’m kind of bored of this sound. One thing I haven’t mentioned it how Slow it feels. The chorus is fine, but so many of these songs would feel way better at like, 1.25x speed or something

Finally, a song that I know I enjoy

Yeah, this song feels way more filled in. I enjoy the Speed. The bass is doing things, the percussion is doing things. The vocals are brighter and everything just feels Fuller. Like, non-empty. Idk how else to explain it

Also, I don’t really care for the song Feel My Rhythm, so every time I see Feel My Rhythm, I think that it’s this song

Something unforgettable~

Remember what I said about not liking Red Velvet raps? I quite like their quieter raps

8/10, I quite enjoy this song. It’s not my favorite RV title track, but it’s another Solid pick

Here was me hoping there would be some red on this album

They’re using a lot of red Sounds in this song, but I’m not convinced it’s a red song

Even now. Is this the chorus? Idk, but it feels too Ominous with that drone in the background

Red and velvet are Vibes. And even though this instrumentation is totally red, the Vibes are velvet

And that makes me kind of uncomfy, the dissonance between the two concepts

Did you like aespa drama? I liked it a lot 🫶🏻

Same. At first I didn't like it much, but after getting used to Karina's rap in beginning and Ningning's rap in the second verse (*cringe* "I'm a stunner" *cringe*), I like it a lot! It's catchy and definitely dramatic. I really, really love the play on words "I bring drama"/"I break trauma". I love cheesy verses like that, I think they're epic. They're also pretty meta. Isn't what we love the most about kpop that it brings us drama to distract us from life and "break" our trauma? The choreo is pretty cool too, especially the final pose - it's dramatic and bratty and fits their vibe so well. Also, Giselle looks really pretty this comeback. I like her hair and think her dancing has improved. She doesn't get many lines though, and I think Ningning has less lines than expected too - even Karina has less center time. I think SM is "pushing" Winter a bit. It's both good and a bad idea. Winter's voice is very high pitched and works really well in a lot of verses - her tone is piercing and her high notes have impact - and her "ice princess" vibe works well often too. However, her lack of facial expressions and "coldness" also limit her and the performance - in large doses it just seems like she doesn't like performing or knows how to express herself. Companies always take it too far. Next comeback she'll probably have less lines.

The Drama MV is good too. I like that it made a lot more sense than usual and that they're moving on from their lore, or just being more subtle about it, so you can enjoy their music and MVs without being confused.

Anyway, I reviewed the album already. I like it and have listened to it a few times since it came out. It's my favorite Aespa album after My World. I currently love Hot Air Balloon, Don't Blink and YOLO the best out of the bsides, but Drama and Better Things are my favorite tracks overall.
