As someone who ships Chaggie as well, I want your opinion on this.
Someone made a kinda good point about Charlie and Vaggie’s relationship; the point being that there’s a power imbalance between them. Charlie is the princess of hell. She wouldn’t physically loose anything or be hurt physically if she breaks up with Vaggie. But Vaggie would loose both the love of her life and her home and friends if they break off. And so they see this toxic dynamic because Vaggie is “walking on eggshells” in order to stay in Charlie’s favor and not getting on her bad side.
So….thoughts?
The problem is people who say these things treat the terms "power imbalance" and "toxic" and "unhealthy" as the same things when they are not.
There is a power imbalance, yes, definitely. I constantly make jokes about the fact that Charlie and Vaggie have a forbidden love story in a Boss/Employee HR violation kinda way for pete's sake. It's just a lot more funny thinking about the fact that that probably has more weight than the demon/angel situation.
But the thing is, no matter what Charlie will ALWAYS have a power imbalance with whoever she dates because she is literally the princess of Hell, as they have said. Even if she dates a fellow hellborn royal, the fact that Charlie is in a higher position of power will always be a fact because her parents are literally the only ones above that. So what? Should she just not date anyone??? Also, isn't the one has a higher position of power but still loves the other a super popular ship trope? Rich x poor. Royalty x commoner. Goddess/immortal x normal human. Popular in school x the social loser. The list goes on. So why is it a problem now?
The fact that they think Vaggie "walks on eggshells" around Charlie is a bit...? I'm just a little confused you know? Vaggie is definitely not afraid of Charlie. When they had their fallout, she wasn't afraid of losing the things she was dependent on Charlie if they ever broke up(i.e. a home, her safety, money etc) because Vaggie damn well knows Charlie wouldn't do that. Everyone in hell knows Charlie goddamn Morningstar wouldn't do that. Vaggie was merely afraid of losing their relationship, which is a perfectly normal thing to be afraid of. Vaggie's dedication to Charlie isn't rooted in fear, it's rooted in devotion in the name of what she thinks the person she loves deserves.
The thing that makes Chaggie so great despite that power imbalance is the fact that Charlie is an absolute sweetheart. She isn't the kind of person who would take advantage of that power and Vaggie, as someone who knows her so well, is perfectly aware of that. Vaggie is safe with Charlie in every way that matters, and this is where toxicity and the unhealthy elements come into play.
Charlie and Vaggie as individuals have all the ingredients for an unhealthy relationship. As Husk so plainly pointed out, Charlie would rather fix everyone else's problems than help herself. Meanwhile Vaggie has deep self-hatred that seeps into how she feels about everyone but Charlie. They're both the type of people who would rather think about others rather than themselves. This is the root of their codependency, and why their relationship can be quite unhealthy. It's extremely evident with Vaggie, which makes perfect sense since she probably never saw herself as a person before Charlie.
Those flaws can so easily be taken advantage of in a relationship, but the thing is, do they do that? Do either of them think the other ever would? As Rosie did say...
Tumblr media
While Charlie likes to shoulder everyone else's problems, Vaggie looks at the love her life and decides she'll take some of that load so she doesn't get crushed under the weight of the world. Vaggie reels Charlie in by being the realist to Charlie's dreamer. Vaggie used to essentially be Heaven's living weapon, but she has now sworn to be the armor for someone who looks out for everyone but herself.
Tumblr media
On the other hand Vaggie's self-worth is shrewed because she's an ex-soldier who thinks she should always be under someone's service to be deserving of anything. But here Charlie is who constantly calls Vaggie her partner and blatantly treats Vaggie as an equal and still loves Vaggie "more than anything" and doesn't doubt that Vaggie loves her in return even after finding out Vaggie's lie and true origins.
Tumblr media
So are they good for each other? Maybe not, but there's still more of the show to see. They can be unhealthy, but not to the point that being together damages each other in any significant way. Their relationship is imperfect, which is fine. No relationship is. Especially not in fucking HELL. And perfect for a story because, yunno... They are still in an ongoing story. They aren't a lost cause yet. It's something they can develop from, something we can get to SEE them develop from.
Are they toxic though?? Are they harming each other physically, emotionally, sexually, or financially? Definitely not. Because although whether they're good FOR each other still remains to be seen, it is an undeniable fact that they are good TO each other, despite all the ways they could not be. The unhealthy elements are due to how they treat themselves, but their relationship can't be deemed toxic because of how they treat each other. And for now, that's what matters and that's why I love this ship.

Heyyyy cate! Could you do a blurt or Oneshot on Spencer with his teenage daughter who maybe doesn’t seem to like his new girlfriend at all but really she’s just really scare of her dad’s attention shifting ? She could do rebellious stuff to gain it back and he would take a while to really get what was going on? 🥺
omg yes i live for this type of angst. also, i'm considering a series with single dad spence, what do we think ?? i don't have a plot or anything lmao
Tumblr media
There's nothing Phoebe loves more than her dad, and there's nothing Spencer loves more than his daughter. You knew that getting into a relationship with him.
He raised it early before your third date during the month you were only communicating by text. Now, you can't think of anything worse than going that long without talking to him.
You've been an increasingly permanent fixture in his life and, therefore, Phoebe's, especially after Spencer got released from prison. He needed an adult to talk to, not his fifteen-year-old daughter, and you were happy to be that for him.
Things would have been good, perfect even, hopefully, with you integrating even more into their lives, but your relationship with Phoebe was rocky.
She must have struggled with her dad in prison, having to stay with Aunt Penelope for three months while she had no idea what would happen to their family.
It's only deteriorated since you started sleeping over. It's like whenever you're around, she refuses to come out of her room, and it's more hatred for you than it is teenage angst.
That night, Spencer calls, asking you to come over. When you get there, he looks furious mixed with worried, but the furious is taking over.
You run through a list of things that might have happened during the day to have made him so mad. Maybe a problem with his reinstatement, although it's been fine for months, or a problem with a higher-up putting pressure on the team.
"Hey, hey, what's up?" You ask, shutting the door behind you and slipping your shoes off.
He nods to the study, walking in wordlessly as you follow. It's even more concerning that he won't say anything until the heavy wooden door has closed.
"So not only has Phoebe been skipping school to go to the mall, she has been stealing." He rants to you, pacing angrily. "Stealing! My daughter, who I raised to be a morally good person has been caught stealing."
Your eyes widen as your mouth drops open. It's pretty unbelievable. Although she hates you, Phoebe's a good kid. She's got too much of Spencer in her to be anything but. He's more hotheaded than he used to be, and he's not seeing it from any other perspective than how morally wrong it was.
"Alright, okay." You say, grabbing his hands and steering him to sit on the leather sofa. "Just breathe for a minute."
He tries, but it doesn't stop his eyes from darkening. "I need to be thinking about how I can punish her."
You shake your head softly. "You can't right now."
He looks at you like you're dumb, but you know he doesn't mean it. "You can't seriously be defending this."
You shake your head again. "I'm not, Spence. I promise. But this is a cry for help." He's still not understanding it, so you put it in terms she'll understand. "Behaviorally, what does it say if someone's shoplifting?"
"It's a reaction to a loss, to fill a void real or perceived." He lists off the common parts of the profile before it clicks in his head. "Oh."
"Yeah." You nod. "This is a call for help, Spencer. She's struggling with something, and I'm guessing it's a mix of me and what happened to you."
His eyes cloud over with tears then, his whole face softening. It's his baby, who he's been raising since he was fresh out of college, and she's begging for help, even if she doesn't know it.
Then he feels terrible because what type of a dad is he to not realize she's having such a rough time? And because of his decisions?
You can tell, too. "Spencer, stop." You insist. "You're not a bad dad."
"How did I not know?" He asks, holding his head in his hands.
"Because she's a teenager who hides her feelings from her dad." You joke, earning a slight chuckle from him, his beautiful smile gracing his face once again. "So I'm going to go so you can talk to her."
He shakes his head, squeezing your hand. "No, don't go." He begs. "Her problem is not with you."
"It is." You assure him. "I've started coming around more, and it's a big change. You don't like change, and I bet she doesn't either."
That makes him smile lightly. They are similar in a lot of ways, and that means the better and worse traits. "Can you wait here?" He asks.
Hesitantly, you concede. "I'll be in your bedroom." You say before winking at him as he gets up. "Go do good dad stuff."
Spencer flashes you one last smile before leaving you alone in the study so you can retreat to his room. He's worried when he walks up the stairs. There's been a lot of moments as a dad that he hasn't been able to prepare for, but this feels like the biggest of them all.
Gently, he knocks on her door. "Hey, sweet girl, can I come in?" He asks.
"Not your sweet girl." She answers, although she doesn't tell him not to come in so he pushes the door open.
It's clear she's been crying. Her new heavy eyeliner look makes that obvious. "You'll always be my sweet girl." He tells her, sitting on her desk chair.
"So what's my punishment?" She asks. "No phone, no iPad, no wifi? I bet you'll get Aunt Penelope to block it all, too."
Spencer shakes his head. "Nothing like that, Phoebs. I just want to talk."
"About what?" She asks in return.
"What's bothering you." He answers. "You're a good girl, and you know that was wrong. You're too smart for me to tell you that."
Phoebe shakes her head. "I'm not smart."
"You are." He assures her. "So, what's going on?" When he doesn't get an answer, he guesses. "Y/n?"
"I- She's so nice." Phoebe starts, articulating her feelings much better than Spencer ever could. "And I've been mean to her. It's just- she's here a lot, and I'm not used to having..." She trails off, playing with her fingers in her lap. "Someone around like that."
He can guess what she's thinking easily. "Someone I'm romantically interested in."
"My aunts and uncles aren't here all the time, but I feel like she's here to stay." She explains.
Spencer nods. "That's a decision we make together, but yes, I want that."
"I do, too," Phoebe says. "She's nice, and she likes you."
"She likes you, too," Spencer reminds her, taking her hand. "But you'll always be my number one, sweet girl." She smiles at him, standing up and walking over to hug him. He pulls her into a tight hug, kissing the top of her head. "I love you."
"I love you, too, and I'm really sorry." She replies.

Can I request mary dating hc’s
Yes and for some reason my tumblr us acting weird and not letting me format things normally. This won't have smut unless specificly requested. Idk here you gooo. Completely UNEDITED.
Tumblr media
Mary Satome Headcannons
Tumblr media
As a partner Mary acts much like she does with Yumeko. Except kinder, or in some cases meaner. When first meeting you she doesn't know how to act, does she like you or hate you? Does her heart beat too fast and she cant look at you? What's wrong with her?!
Mary's love for you is unconditional, and I truly mean unconditional. She's slightly obsessed, she sees you as being able to do no harm. (Even if you're worse than her.)
As a girlfriend, Mary definitely gives you gifts a lot. She feels the need to make up for being mean all the time, and she sees this as a good way. If you're the type to not accept gifts like that, she will pester you until you do.
As a girlfriend, Mary enjoys holding you hand. She doesn't care about the approval of others as much when she's around you. She trusts you not to hurt her, and this us one of her ways of showing trust. She gives you more than she has and never regrets it.
Mary is still rude as a girlfriend, that'll never change. Although she's rude for completely different reasons. If you happen to not be eating, sleeping, or you just aren't taking good care of yourself. Be prepared to get yelled at, she doesn't care who it's in front of.
Mary does enjoy flirting with you, seeing your face get red and seeing you look away gives her a rush. Sometimes she'll just hug you and/or kiss your forehead. Although those are reserved for private time.
Mary hates when Yumeko hugs you. She'll pull the girl off and hug you, it's almost like a python restricting you. She's more touchy than usual, feeling the (unnecessary) need to stake her claim over you.
As a girlfriend, Mary gamble's against you over stupid things. Unlike Yumeko, the stakes aren't stupidly high. No, she just wants to pay for the date, but if you want to pay this time... well she'll make you gamble with her. And when you lose (because let's be honest you're not that good) you have to let her pay, and deal with the shame of losing.
As a girlfriend, Mary also gambles with you. The two of you will sit side by side, while Yumeko and Ryota sit in front of you. Yumeko and Mary joke about how it's a friendly game, but halfway through you're not so sure anymore. In fact you worry about playing against Yumeko at all times.
Mary hates it when the president comes with a 50 foot radius of you. Not even joking, she'd threaten Kirari over you. Of course she'd be scared as hell while doing it, but she isn't letting that bitch anywhere near you. She also hates Ririka coming near you at first too, over time that changes.
"I dont love you, love is a very strong- I'm lying! Dont cry please- my god!"
There has definitely been a time when she's said something along those lines. You cried and her reaction switched up real quick. She was apologizing like never before, and that memory will be ingrained in her mind forever. She hates the idea of you not loving her, and she hates herself for saying that.
Mary takes you on dates like it's nobodies business! That girl would spend every dime she had to make sure you're happy. Then she'd make the money back by gambling with some idiots. Higher stakes probably, and she'd bring Yumeko to watch. She'd bring you too, but that's so you can see her in action.
Speaking of, as a girlfriend, Mary loves your validation. She literally lives for it. If you tell she did anything right, she's thinking about it all day. Sure, she acts like it isn't a big deal, but Mary treasures you more than herself.
So I'm gonna circle back to the being mean thing. So before the two of you dated, Mary wasn't the nicest towards you. She didn't treat you like a house pet, but she was a bully. She'd made you cry at least once, and while she personally couldn't tell how she felt. Mary knew she didn't like seeing you cry.
Of course, because you has to build trust, Mary has to earn it. Mary had visited you in your classroom, giving you small tips on gambling or maybe even just talking to you. She enjoyed her time with you, and would usually leave the classrooms as red as a tomato. It's not her fault you're so kind to her!
Mary definitely made you gamble her and the agreement would be like: 'you have to do whatever she says for a week if you lose and vice versa.' Mary had pretty much forcer you to go on dates with her, and by the end of the week she'd ask you out. She gave you the chance to say no, but you didn't and that made her all the happier.
After that there were many bumps in the road of yalls relationship, just like any other. You two were ready though, and hell you could maybe just imagine marrying this girl. Maybe.

Ooo love the devil’s bastard au
In one of your precious posts you mentioned Charlie and Nicaise meeting in heaven and getting to bond. How do you think a meeting like that would go?
They wouldn't know who the other was at first. It's an act of fate (me) that brings them together. I've seen a few different people say that the winners in Heaven don't remember their lives on Earth, but I haven't heard this until recently, and even if Vivienne did say it, I'm hesitant to take Word of God as the absolute truth until it's actually shown in the show proper. Things change in the writing process, you know?
That said, I like the idea so I'm going with it.
As a winner, Nicaise also has some deer-like traits. Her heavenly outfit is all creams and golds, she's got soft doe ears and white speckles across her cheeks, shoulders and arms, as well as a pair of cream-colored wings. Even with the deer traits though, Charlie doesn't make the immediate connection. She's a dark-skinned Creole woman who speaks with a distinct accent from Alastor's, so there's a bit of a disconnect in Charlie's mind.
They probably run into one another while Emily is showing Charlie around, perhaps at the zoo. The winners haven't been informed that they're hosting a guest from Hell because the heavenborn angels don't want to cause a panic or anything, but it becomes clear within a few minutes of conversation that Charlie's different from everyone else in Heaven. How amazed she is by the simplest things. Her sheer awe at the koala. The smell of brimstone that clings to her.
Now, Nicaise knows there's something... off about Heaven. She's known it since she first arrived and she felt like something important had been stolen from her. She just can't put together what that something was. Over the decades, the heavenborn angels have tried to placate her, reassuring that there is nothing missing from her life and that Heaven has everything she'll ever want or need. She calls bullshit. But, realizing she's not going to get anywhere butting heads, she opts to go the more subtle route, seeking out like minded winners and bringing them together. Together, she and her allies have been trying to figure out what the heavenborn are keeping from them, what they lost, but they've hit a lot of walls. Sera is too difficult to approach, and not easy to trick, Emily is just as in the dark as they are, and Adam... Well, Nicaise knows how to deal with repulsive men. But Sera realized pretty quickly what Nicaise was doing and forbid Adam from speaking to her or her cohorts, so that line of investigation was cut short.
Needless to say, Nicaise is thrilled to meet people from outside of Heaven.
She probes Charlie for information and Charlie is plenty happy to talk to someone from Heaven who doesn't seem politely disgusted by her lineage. (Something about Charlie's description of her father strikes a chord in Nicaise. She can't quite solidify the thought.) Emily is surprisingly open to the topic of conversation as well; Sera's never told her any of these things!
Nicaise knows that she must have had a life and a family back on Earth, but it's not until Charlie starts talking about souls passing to Heaven or Hell that she really understands what this means. For just a moment, the veil lifts from her memories. And then they're gone again, like a dream. Charlie, on the other hand, is more than a little peeved that Heaven is actually preventing winners from remembering their own lives. Yes, some of the memories may be painful, but these are their lives! The souls have a right to them, regardless of how painful they were! It's her first hint that Heaven might not be as idyllic as it seems.
Unfortunately, Charlie's meeting with Heaven's higher ups means they don't have as much time together as they would like, nor will they have any way to contact one another once Charlie returns to Hell. But she's left a lasting impact on Nicaise and has an ally in her and Emily both. Emily tells Nicaise everything that happened in the meeting, including the revelation of the exterminations. Nicaise passes this on to her group, who pass it on to more people who pass it on to even more people.
Soon winners all over Heaven are questioning and Sera is panicking. Things get worse for her when Sir Pentious shows up in her office. If she's going to maintain order over Heaven, she needs to find the people responsible for spreading disorder, and get rid of them. Fast.

I'm not sure what I'm missing about Koshkaryova recently but I have found her dancing underwhelming thus far? I thought she was fantastic at the Moscow IBC (Shirin variation!!!) but since then she has looked very messy. Her Corsaire, DQ bridesmaid variation and Paquita varation- all seemed noticeably off the music, frenetic, turned in and slightly sloppy turns with stiff arms. Also something about her epaulement seems off. I hope this is not related to preparing too many new roles too quickly. Additionally, I don't understand the double standards Valiullina is facing about her body type. Some people complain that she is too heavy for ballet yet fail to find fault with to other brilliant, less than stick-thin ballerinas like Maria Alexandrova and Angelina Vorontsova. I find Valiullina lovely with very effortless technique, an good jump and commanding stage presence, so naturally think the comments about her weight are quite unnecessary.
Probably because being good in competitions doesn't translate to being good in a major stage. I think there's two ways to think about this.
First, she's a fresh graduate. It's normal for her to be nervous. They're not just debuts, they're debuts on her first few months with the company. I think every legend in ballet has had their fair share of failures on stage. She'll probably have more solid footing after her first year. Second, the expectations for her are high because she's the top graduate and she's already a soloist. The bar is a lot higher for her than Yaroslavna and Sofia. Anything she will do, whether it be average or above, will likely be overlooked since we're expecting more from her.
That said, there's a lot to work on and I think she will and probably is working on them. Aside from her Paquita debut (Trilby Variation), I think she's been fine. Also, I don't know what she danced in Corsaire? Or if Bolshoi has performed Corsaire this season.
Here's a video of Natalia Makarova talking about her failures!
youtube
For Sofya, ugh I love her. You can tell that she's a thoughtful dancer. She's not a risk taker like Maria. Her technique is flawless and she's captivating on stage. She is my bias hahaha. To be honest with you, I don't look at instagram comments nor overtly negative telegram channels/forums so I'm not aware of the comments about her body. If there's an overwhelming amount of people judging her for that, that is disappointing. Does she have a more mature body, yes. Does it affect her dancing in any way whatsoever, no. She literally has the same body type as Maria Bulanova! I don't see why they can't accept her as well. She has so much potential, I hope they never hold her back just because she doesn't have the body of her 13 year old self?

What do you think about the slapstick in Urusei Yatsura? Most especifically, Lum electrocuting Ataru. I don't take it too seriously generally but sometimes it troubles me.
Hai there, hope you're doing great!!
The slapstick makes most of UY's comedy and I like the comedy so yeah, I like the slapstick.
As for Lum's electrocution specifically? Let's just say, if I've said it once, I've said it a million times: Slapstick does not equal abuse, and yes, this applies to Lum as well. Slapstick isn't supposed to be serious since a) it's done for comedic effect and b) the victim is shown to be completely fine with no injuries whatsoever (and if there is, they'll recover in one or few shots) and acts like the pain just lasted for one second. I won't explain that in even more detail cuz yeah, like I said, slapstick isn't abuse. Lum's electrocution at full force is stated to be just somewhat a bit higher in terms of pain than Shinobu's desk throw or Sakura's slap. And if it makes you feel better about this, did you know Lum actually holds back while electrocuting Ataru?
Ok, so at first, Lum would electrocute Ataru if she's made or if she just wants to show her love but as soon as she learns that electrocution can actually kill humans, she stops showing her love with it. At first I thought RT just forgot that aspect, but much later in the series, in 'Catch the heart', she uses her electricity on Ataru at full force to show her love under the influence of the love candy (those affected don't really think logically btw). Also, In that one chapter where has Tobimaro has a sunflower on his head, Lum says that she'll give Ataru a million volts which shows that the power of her electricity can be controlled, and in the bubble gum chapter, when Ten burns (fake) Ataru and it goes blank, Lum says Ten went too far, again showing that Oni can control how much power they use. And since Lum said that, she probably makes sure she doesn't use too much volts on him just in case. And as time goes on, she sometimes adopts other methods to punish him, the most obvious being her various sized gag hammers.. And of course, her methods also acts as punishment for his various sexual harassment.
Yeah, so rest assured anon, Lum isn't murdering Ataru or anything. He seems to be fine after she's done with her divine retribution (to the point he may even go for round two) and at the end of the day, it's not all that serious and it's all in stupid fun.

Does she have other animalistic traits?
Yes.
Hoarding food. Even if she doesn't need it to survive; she does need it for her sanity because her hunger pains are extremely painful. It was designed into her in her early life so she can't remove it as it would regrow (I mean... majins don't even HAVE organs. This is just weird fantasy idk). Her stomach is there to stimulate reward but also to punish her. She has an instinct that makes her obsessed with food. Real food. Her magic doesn't taste as good as the real thing. She's very food driven. She loves high fat and carbohydrate foods, so pizza, chocolates, pies, pastries, cheese, etc. It does not take much time for Tahinnia to feel hungry and it can cause her to terrorize people because her hunger is very discomforting. It makes her very aggressive and animalistic; feral. So, that's why she hoards food.
Hoard shiny things, and other things that are valuable to her. But she's very drawn to what's shiny.
She's able to purr. I think it's more like how a bunny does.
Tahinnia has an urge (and also loves the sensation) to chew and scratch on things. Perhaps she could be teething as a result of her regeneration malfunctioning. The teething is experienced as an irritating itch rather than pain. You could actually make her happy with a cute-looking chewing toy (LOL).
She likes to get pet/scritch (but be careful! She isn't too trusting. She can also hiss and scratch or bite you when you do it wrong!!) Even though she doesn't have fur, she does feel better than how a human would. She feels kinda gum-like. A little more squishy, very soft/nice to touch. Kinda like a stress toy. So petting her would feel nice on your hands! She can also control her body temperature to a certain degree so she can be very comfy to hold on to.
She kneads on blankets, pillows, etc.. to get comfy or soothe herself.
She may bite you affectionately. Animalistic playful aggression.
She loves to lick/suck on salty or sugary things. Like how horses do. Keep the himalayan salt lamps away... she'll be urged to lick.
Lick or suck on her lover's face, arms, or fingers to show affection.
Easily bored. Actually wants to play. However, she won't tell you. She's ashamed of being like this. Very cat-like. However, she's 100% just as satisfied with video games. Prefers it that way to hide her (surprisingly) playful nature.
The urge to chase things. Not just the red dot. If it's shiny/sparkly/etc, the likelyhood for Tahinnia to give in is higher.
Play with her own tail, or hug her own tail when bored or lonely.
Sniffing her lover because she'll love their scent more than anything.
It's all I could think of. She tries to hide and kinda fights against urges because she's a bit ashamed of them.
But yeah, she possesses these traits.

(Not) Alone - Chapter 7
Summary: Consumed with worry and scared after watching Dani almost die, Danny begs her to come home with him and meet Jazz. He wants to see her safe and happy and taken care of more than anything. An important reveal also weighs heavy on him – Dani isn’t the only living clone… and the other is him. He needs to tell her the truth; maybe that will convince her to agree to the idea of telling his parents. And she'll stay in Amity Park with him, where he'll never have to worry if she's safe ever again.
Meanwhile, Dani has mixed feelings. Still reeling from the loss of her clone siblings, Danny’s unexpected worry and care make her uncomfortable. And her own guilt… she hurt him and helped get him kidnapped twice. How can he care about a mistake like her? But having clean clothes and a bed is wonderful. And things aren’t as simple as she thinks.
Will Dani accept the help she needs and let herself be loved? Or will she push Danny and Jazz away and run again?

Danielle hadn’t left yet. The thought was a small comfort as Danny swung after dark, the younger clone humming contentedly beside him. It had been almost a week and despite his fears that first day, Dani hadn’t left. Instead, she’d grown more comfortable, most of the tension of that first night washing away.
Jazz and him had worked hard to give her a fun time. They’d looked for opportunities to bond, to get to know the younger girl better. And they had; the younger clone’s laughter rang like music in his ears. Her bright smiles warmed his heart. And her growing comfort with him and even with Jazz…. He couldn’t help but be hopeful, the feeling blooming in his core. And yet…
He and Dani hadn’t talked about any of it. Not their argument that first morning, the horrible things she’d said about herself and the hurtful accusations lobbed at him. Nor his not-entirely-intentional clone-fusion reveal – even if she did repeatedly, almost exclusively, call him Dami now. Nor their lost siblings.
Danielle was clearly so happy to have him here as one of her clone brothers. She was so relieved to be stable and safe, with fresh food, clean clothes, and a bed. She’d been so excited to have fun with him…. Danny didn’t want to spoil it.
But they needed to talk about it, as much as Danny didn't want to bring it up. He dreaded the painful conversation. Part of him wished that Dani would bring it up instead. That she would talk about all that was bothering her, all the thoughts and memories hurting her. The loss of their other siblings weighed heavy on him and he was sure they were on her mind too. But she hadn’t said anything.
No, that was his responsibility. His job as the older sibling to broach the hard topics. He couldn’t place that burden on his little sister. And he wouldn’t. He refused to.
But first… they were at a playground. They needed to have a little fun.
Danny jumped out of the swing. He rose higher for just a moment, falling in an arc. Then…. he just stayed in the air, buoyed by his natural ghostly weightlessness. “Wanna see how fast we can get the merry-go-round going?”
His little sister followed with a grin, jumping out of her own swing and twirling in the air. “Yes!” She zipped to the metal circle and plopped down in the middle. “You’ve gotta push me first!”
The boy laughed. “Alright.” Leaning down, closer to her ear. “It’s more fun if gravity actually affects you.”
With a flash, the girl turned human. “Spin me! Spin me! Spin me!” She chanted.
Danny obliged. Grabbing one of the metal handles, he flew parallel to the ground in a circle.
“Faster! Faster!” Danielle cheered
Danny zoomed fast, his aura blurring with the motion.
The girl laid down, her face towards the sky. She giggled, her chest heaving with the noise.
And Danny reveled in the sound. He flew faster and faster. He could keep this up for hours. Dani’s head tilted, sparklingly blue eyes meeting his green, though upside-down. Cross-eyed, dizzy with laughter…. And just plain dizzy.
Eventually, the ghost boy stopped flying. Letting go of the merry-go-round, he watched it spin to a stop.
In the middle, his sister panted. “That… was…awesome!” Another giggle burst forth. She tried to sit up, only to flop back down. “So dizzy.” She took another minute to equilibrate. Then with a flash, she transformed…. “Your turn!”
Danny took his turn on the merry-go-round, laying in the middle in human form while the younger girl spun it by flying in a circle. It was a blast, being able to ride it like this. Normally, Sam, Tucker, or Jazz got this treat, with him pushing the circle. And the one time he’d managed to summon a duplicate…. It wasn’t as fun, having to use half his attention to keep the other him from poofing. But this… this was perfect.
After his turn, Danielle turned human again and together, they enjoyed all that the playground had to offer. They raced down the slides. Swung on the monkey bars. Even made sandcastles in the sandbox. But the swings… the swings were the best.
“I bet I can go higher than you!” Danielle boosted.
“No, you can’t.” The boy countered.
“Yes, I can!” Pumping her legs, the girl soared higher.
Her brother chased her, laughing.
“I’m going to go so high, I’ll swing all the way around!”
Danielle gave it her best try, she did. But…. “Wa…Woah!” The chain creaked.
A bolt of panic. Too high!
Eyes wide, the girl wobbled. “D…Dami!” She fell.
“Dani! Float!” The boy reached.
Dani’s eyes flashed green, a ring of light sparking at her waist. Trying to transform, to float but… instead… “Umph!” She landed on her stomach, splayed in the mulch.
Danny’s eyes popped wide, jumping himself. Luckily for him, his core reacted. Weightlessness overtook him, slowing his fall. Gently, the boy landed on his feet. He ran to the prone girl.
“Are you okay? Are you hurt?” His heart pounded in his chest, full of fear. “Let me see your hands. Did you skin your knees?”
“I’m fine.” Dani rolled over with a grumble. “Not a scratch.” She sat up.
His eyes searched frantically. Sure enough… there were no bruises, no blood. A breathy sigh. “You’re alright.” He squatted, hands on her shoulders. “Shit. I should have been more careful. Stupid. I let myself get too excited. I knew… I knew that could be dangerous.”
The girl huffed but she didn't shake out of his hold. “You worry too much, you mother duck.”
Danny laughed, rolling his eyes at the jab. Then… a stab of guilt. Why was he being such a mother hen? She’d only fallen out of the swing; he’d done the same thing a dozen times as a kid. And she had ghost powers, like him. Clearly, her human body was a bit sturdier than was typical. That or she did manage to use flight to slow herself, just not as successfully as he had. She was fine. Maybe he did worry too much….
Shaking the thought away, the ghost boy straightened. “I think that’s enough fun for tonight.” He offered the younger girl a hand up. “Besides. I’ve got something to show you.”
Danielle raised a brow in question, taking the hand. “What is it?”
“A surprise.” Danny said evenly. He took a few steps away, towards the trees lining one side of the playground. Then he looked back, a heaviness in his eyes. “It’s uh… this is actually the reason I wanted to go to the park tonight.”
The girl stiffened slightly, as if sensing something in his words, his tone. But she didn’t ask anything else. Instead… trust shone in her eyes. “Lead the way.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Danny led her through the small wood, their path lit by the two ghosts’ spectral glows. Over branches, tree-roots, small boulders.
His heart twisted, nervous energy growing. He needed to show her this. Really, it was well overdue. But… how would she react? His core ached at the thought. Bearing all that pain, all the grief again. This was sure to lead to a heavy conversation. And with his seemingly bubbly little sister no less… Some of that happiness had to be a facade, a mask to pretend everything was alright; Danny was sadly familiar with doing the very same thing. The longer he let the mask stay on, the greater the damage was. And the more painful it was to remove. He needed to get Dani to talk to him….
 But would it just make everything worse?
The boy shook his head. No. He’d made up his mind… or rather, Jazz had verbally poked him with her big concerned eyes, until he agreed that, yes, he needed to talk to Dani about things.
A less than ten-minute walk later and the pair arrived. A tall sugar maple stretched above them, its wide branches heavy with leaves. This. This was their destination. And sitting at the base….
“Here we are.” Danny kneeled, brushing away the dirt, leaves, and…. wilted flowers.
Quietly, the girl lowered herself to her knees. “What’s this?” Her brows furrowed, eyes fixed on the pile of four stones.
Danny didn’t reply for a long moment, his insides twisting. This was it, the moment of truth. He swallowed, already feeling the grief rising in his throat. “We, Jazz and me…. we made this for our brothers.”
Beside him, Danielle stiffened. “Our… brothers?” Her voice was deceptively, forcefully even.
Slowly, he pulled four candles out of his bag. “It was Jazz’s idea, to make a little grave. A memorial to… remember them.” He placed the tall, white columns around the rocks. “After I told her and my friends about them… and about you. I… it was hard. I was… I was so upset. I kept thinking about them and you. I had nightmares, couldn’t sleep. Jazz… she said I should talk about them. We should make something to remember them. So we lit candles, left flowers and I talked, told them about everything I could remember.”
Danny paused, a moment to let the words sink in. Dani remained still, her fists balled in front of her. Her lips sat in a hard line but… they twitched. A hint of mist lingered in her eyes.
The brother shifted closer, gently wrapping an arm around her shoulders. “Do you want to say anything?”
The girl swallowed. Her voice came out so quiet…. “The rocks… what are they for?”
Danny gave a nod. Slowly, reverently, he picked up each one. “There’s one for each of us.” First the largest, irregularly shaped and covered with bumps. “This one’s for Muscles.” Second, a rough textured stone, as white as bone. “For Bones.” A third, smooth, round, and solid black. “Daniel.”
Each name was a crack to Dani’s facade, pain blooming across her face. Finally, on the last, a tear leaked. “Daniel.” She whined.
“There's one for each of them.” Danny said softly. “It’s… I know it’s not much but it’s the least they deserve and…” His own eyes watered with tears. “I love those three so much and I miss them. And I’m sure… I know you do too.”
Her face crumbled. “I…I do. I do. I miss… I miss them so much…” The last word broke, finally a torrent of tears. She rocked softly and Danny wrapped his arms around her. The girl buried her hand in his chest.
Together, for the second time since they’d been reunited, the two half ghosts cried. They wept. They held each other. Their one surviving clone sibling in their arms…. the only comfort for their crushing shared grief.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dani knelt at the grave and cried in her brother’s arms. She bawled. She wept because, because… Dami being there did not erase that their other brothers were gone. They were gone. Bones, Muscles, and Daniel were gone…. And they weren’t coming back.
She’d tried to push the knowledge away. Dami was here. He hadn’t left her. He’d found her again. And she was so happy. She loved him so much. But his presence didn’t wash away, blot away, erase that… that they were the only two left.
Everything they did this week…. Her heart kept trying to remind her. She wished her other brothers had been there too. But they weren’t. And it wasn’t fair….
Dani cried in her brother’s arms, her mind replaying these thoughts until she could hardly breathe. She sobbed, listening to the other half ghost cry until….
She pulled back, her eyes fixing on the little memorial. The pile of stones, one for each brother. Muscles, Bones, Daniel. She grabbed each one, whining their names. And…
There was a fourth one. “That one’s…one’s for me, isn’t it?” She sniffled out.
His words that first morning…. Since you left at Vlad’s, I had no idea if you were alive or… or dead.” He tripped over the word. “You could have destabilized anywhere, and I would have never known what happened to you. I thought… I thought you were dead.”
“You… you thought I was dead too. Because I ran away. I ran away and I didn’t come back.” Guilt twisted. He’d… he’d told her all that. He’d bared his heart to her. And… and she’d just yelled at him. “I knew you were here but… I thought you didn’t care. Or…Or…” New tears welled, the girl wiping at her face. “You pitied me. I’m… I’m just a stupid copy. A mi.. mistake for you to take care of. You wouldn’t… you wouldn’t want me. And I don’t deserve it, not after… after…” She panted, choking on her words. (Unable to say what she’d really done, why she really didn’t deserve….) “But I was wrong. You were here and I left you. I left you too and...”
“No. No.” He shook his head, eyes wide and desperate. “That.. that one’s not for you. I…I knew you were out there somewhere. You had to be and…”
He sniffled and Dani hugged him again, her head tucked under his chin.
Danny shook his head. “I always… I always cared, Dani. I always wanted you here. Don’t you ever think that I don’t. And… and you don’t deserve it?!” His voice pitched up, something in their hug shifting. “How could you think that? You do deserve it. You deserve to be loved. I love you so much. Jazz loves you so much and… and….”
He cried and Dani whimpered apologies. “I’m sorry. I’m sorry.” She buried her head in his shoulder. “I shouldn’t have… have said that. I know you care about me. But I was being stupid and… and I’m sorry. I’m sorry.“ She’d said so many mean things. She’d caused him so much pain…
Again, slowly, the tears slowed. Breathing evened out, heart rates calmed. The pair gently pulled apart.
The boy’s hands (smaller?) gripped her face, eye to eye. “You don’t have to apologize for that. Ever. I get it. Believe me, I get it.” The words were so earnest. “Sometimes your brain tries to tell you lies. Like you don’t deserve to be loved. Or no one wants you; no one cares. But those aren’t true, okay?” He lowered his hands.
“Okay.” The girl said quietly, wiping her eyes.
The other half ghost nodded, serious but just as tender as before. “You are good enough. You’re not stupid. You are not a mistake. And you deserve to be loved and to get help when you need it. Don’t let anyone, not even yourself, tell you otherwise.” He smiled softly. “You’ve gotta keep reminding yourself what’s true. And I promise, I’ll be here to help you with that too.”
What was true…. It was hard, so hard to believe what he’d just said. She’d spent so much time alone, having only herself to depend on. And not… not having her brothers by her side. They’d all suffered together. Vlad had never loved them; they were only useless, inferior copies to him. Mistakes. Damian knew all that; he understood.
(But… what she said at the store today. He was Danny too and she’d hurt him. She’d betrayed him…)
She shook her head, pushing the thought down. No, he was her brother. He loved her. He wanted to help her.
“Okay. I’ll try.” The girl finally answered. “It’s… it’s hard. It’s like… I know it in my head. I trust you. I wanna believe you but…” She vaguely motioned to her chest. “My feelings are all mixed up in here.”
Dami smiled without mirth. “Welcome to being alive. It’s like that sometimes.”
“Yeah.” Her own humorless laugh. She pulled back, gaze fixed down guiltly. “Still… I’m sorry for yelling at you earlier. I shouldn’t have….have said you just pitied me. Or that you’re not my brother.” Her eyes flickered, from her lap to the leaf covered ground to his white-clad boot beside her. “I know that’s not true now. You’re my brother and you do care about me.”
But she hadn’t known that then. She’d been furious, thinking he was Danny trying to take the place of her lost siblings. That wasn’t true though; he was one of her clone brothers. And…. he was Danny too.
The thought suddenly crashed in her head, a truth she’d been trying to avoid thinking about. A dozen emotions crowded her heart- guilt, dread, fear, sadness, hope, confusion, longing.
“Dani. It’s really okay.” That familiar, caring voice. “You really don’t have to apologize. I get it.” He’d already forgiven her, despite what she’d said (She didn’t deserve it, didn’t deserve it)….
An uneasy feeling in her heart, her gaze still flickered, anywhere but his eyes. A tall tree, wilted flowers, acorns laying across the path. That small pile of stones. One for Muscles, one for Bones, one for Daniel, and….
“Who’s the fourth stone for?” The question felt heavy on her tongue.
“What?” The boy blinked, as if startled by the question.
“The fourth stone.” She bit her lip. “You said it wasn’t for me so who….”
The question lingered in the air for a long moment. Then… “It’s for me.” He swallowed. “That one’s for me.”
For him…. Dani’s heart sank like a stone at the words. “Why?” She hardly dared to ask.
A pause, the body beside her tensed. Then he sat up more fully. “Just after the fusion was… hard. So freaking hard. I had these two different sets of memories. The fire and the shrinking powers were totally out of control and… I was angry. So freaking angry this happened to me. I was scared too. I didn’t really know what was going on. It’s like…” He sucked in a breath. “I woke up one day and I was a completely different person.” A shake of the head. “No, that’s not really right either.” His knees pulled to his chest. “It’s like… I wasn’t really Danny anymore and I wasn’t Tiny either. But I was. I was both of them. I didn’t know who I really was. Or who I was supposed to be. Was I supposed to just be Danny? But I couldn’t be. Sometimes, I felt like I was two different people, not just one person. But I’m still, somehow, just me…” He trailed off.
Dani looked up, eyes falling on his face. The distant green eyes, furrowed brow….
The girl swallowed. “But still… why the rock?”
His eyes closed. “I needed to mourn myself, Dani. I’m not…” He sighed. “I’m not the person I was before. The fusion happened and I’m not the person, er… the people I would have been if it hadn’t. I’m not really Danny… And I’m not really Dami either.”
This… this was what had been filling her mind with dread before. What she’d… what she’d been choosing to ignore.
Dani looked into the neon green eyes, eyes that she had known so well. They looked like Tiny’s. She could picture them, shining up at her with admiration. That expression was so different now. The thought made her heart ache, grief and anger stabbing at her. She missed the quiet companionship, the simple curiosity. Her core ached. That quiet little brother, he was… he was…. (gone).
And yet…
“Sorry.” His hand gently rested on her arm. “I know that probably doesn’t make a lot of sense. It’s heavy but you deserve to hear it.”
And yet… Dani had spent a week with his boy. They’d joked and played. He’d taught her things, bought her presents, made her meals. And…his arms hugging her earlier, the gentle voice muttering comforts in her ears…..
“I’m different from before.” He continued, eyes growing wider, more insistent. “Danny and Dami are both part of me but I’m not really either of them. I’m my own person. Their legacy, that’s how I explained it to Jazz. But I’m still your brother.”
He wasn’t the brother she had known but…
“I know I’m not the Tiny you remember but-”
“I love you.” She interrupted, finally meeting his eyes. He was different but she still knew him. She knew he loved her. And… “I love you.” The insistent, purposeful words.
Her brother’s mouth snapped shut, his forehead wrinkling. But before he could voice question (or doubt)....
“I didn’t really get what you were talking about earlier, the first time you explained stuff. Or maybe I was ignoring it.” Dani shook her head, frowning at herself. “But I get it more now. I know you’re different.” There was no accusation there, nor disappointment . “And I love you.” Just tender acceptance.
Dami’s…. Danny’s expression relaxed, a tentative hope. “You really… mean that?”
“You’re my brother, no matter what.” The girl nodded, eyes wide and earnest. “Of course I love you.”
Still, there was just a hint of doubt there, lingering in his gaze.
“I spent the whole week with you.” Dani continued. “Yeah, I saw how you’re different now. You’re barely like how Tiny was at Vlad’s. And the Danny part….” She bit her lip, more unsure. She’d called him Danny Phantom at the mall, seen him act the hero in ghost fights, seen his love of the stars. And yet….
The girl blinked, a realization hitting her. “I spent a lotta time with you now, but…” Before she’d come here, before the fusion even…. “I never really knew you, Danny you, before.” There was almost… relief in that idea. “Before that day at Vlad's, when I helped kidnap him… you…” That look of betrayal flashed in her mind but she pushed it down. “I didn’t know you. Vlad told me things but… I didn’t really know you.”
Her brow furrowed, stewing on the idea. The other half ghosts’ brow did too, bunched up in confused contemplation. And yet… he didn’t say anything. Dani felt her heart squeeze, affectionate. He was being so patient, letting her quietly put her thoughts together.
Finally….
“What I think I’m trying to say is… I never really knew Danny-you before. I knew Tiny and you’re really different from him. But…” She leaned, her shoulder bumping his. “I’ve been getting to know you. And I don’t know what parts are from Danny and which are Dami. But I know you’re fun to play with. You’re a good listener. You give the best hugs. You made me breakfast this morning and let me wear your old clothes. You care about me. You love me and….” Her arms wrapped around his back. “I love you too. All of you.”
“Oh, Danielle…..” The words shone with affection, the boy wrapping his own arms around her.
“I love being your baby sister, Danny.”
And that was the last thing. She’d been calling him Dami all week, her clone brother’s chosen name. But he was also called Danny. By his older sister, his friends. That was the name taped to his door, on the trophies in his room, written in the tags of his old clothes. He was Danny and he was Dami.
Dani didn’t understand how he could be both of them, but also somehow neither. Also somehow his own person, someone new. But she did know whoever he was, this person holding her… his name was Dami and it was Danny and he was her big brother. He was her big brother. She was his little sister and she loved him.
“I’m so happy to hear that.” Danny said, softly, lovingly. “I love being your big brother too.”
After a long moment, the pair pulled back. The boy smiled. “I’m really relieved to hear all that.” His hand rubbed the back of his neck, a tad sheepish. “I was afraid I was going to have to really push the idea sooner rather than later.” He lowered his hand, more earnest. “But I really wanted to give you time to come around on your own.
For a moment, Dani felt a flash of guilt but… “Thank you for giving me time.” She sighed. “This… everything’s been a lot since I came here. Some of it’s been hard, having to face things. But thanks for talking to me and… “ She looked at the pile of stones. “Thanks for taking me here.”
“You deserved to get to see it too.” The arm still wrapped around her back squeezed. “Crying for our brothers is no fun but I’m glad we were here together for it.”
Wordlessly, Dani met his eyes. She nodded. “I’m happy we’re both here too.”
With his own nod, Danny reached for his bag. “Do you want to light the candles? I’ve got a lighter in here-” He cut himself off, looking back at her. He blinked, brow furrowed. “You’re the same height as me.” His gaze flickered to his hands. “Did I shrink again?”
The bemused reaction chipped at the sadness encircling Dani’s core. “Yeah. I guess neither of us noticed?”
Her eyes traveled up and down him. Sure enough, he was shorter, seemingly the same height as her, hence them being eye to eye when sitting. Their proportions and ages still were different though. Dani was as baby-faced as ever while her brother still looked sixteen, strengthening jaw, gangly limbs stretched by his growth spurt, and all. Closer to her four feet and eight inches, compared to his former five feet ten inches. (Out of curiosity, Jazz had measured each of them this week.)
“How did neither of us notice!?” He raised a brow.
Dani raised her own brow, then shrugged. “We were kinda distracted.” She smiled softly, a hint of humor entering her voice. “I think I like you being me-sized.”
The boy rolled his eyes. “Guess I won’t shift back yet, then.”
“You better not.” She faux-threatened, eyes narrowed.
In all seriousness though, there was something special about sitting side by side with him, truly eye to eye. It made her happy to see him use his size-changing power again. That was something truly of Tiny. And his comment, about the power being all out of wack right after the fusion….
Earlier, he’d talked about all the complicated things he felt right after coming back from Vlad’s. Feeling out of place, like he didn’t know who he was…. And now, sitting eye to eye, the reminder tugged at her heart. He understood how she felt, what it was to not know who you were, who you were supposed to be, who you wanted to be.
The thought made her sad again, her eyes drawn to the flickering flame of the first lit candle.
“Do you want to say something about our brothers?” Danny quietly asked.
“Yeah. I… I do.”

Dumb question, but why can't Baela and Jace stay engaged?
Laenor was going to be Lord of the Tides and Prince Consort at the same time, why can't Baela do the same thing?
ooh yes thanks for bringing this up if it's unclear! i can totally include daeron talking about this in his next pov when he's with jace if it's helpful btw. long story short: laenor was only ever going to need to put in like 5% of the effort towards being a consort than baela would have.
laenor married rhaenyra when there was no contesting of her succession. it was anticipated that rhaenyra would have a fairly stable rule because the bastard thing hadn't become an issue yet and the greens hadn't really mobilized against her yet. in times of peace and stability, the royal consort's role isn't as important to help bolster the sovereign's reign. additionally, it was expected that laenor would have several years to settle into his role as consort before he'd come into his inheritance, and also to do his duty to produce heirs with rhaenyra, since corlys wasn't on his deathbed. so he could put more effort into his consort duties for several years, and then scale back with no problem once he needed to spend most of his time at driftmark. if rhaenyra had her heirs, and her claim was stable, it would've been totally fine for laenor to fuck off to driftmark like 95% of the time.
however, it is very likely that baela will become master of driftmark long before she would ever ascend to being queen. corlys will die long before rhaenyra does, after all. so she'll have the demand of driftmark's responsibilities throughout the first few years of jace's reign for sure, and during the time in which she'd be expected to be constantly producing heirs for him.
baela will also be held to higher standards as master of driftmark than laenor would have been, because she's a woman. she can't afford to half ass either of the two roles that would be expected of her, but she wouldn't be able to do them both at once. she can only be perfect at one role, but not the other. and she'll be expected to be perfect at both.
also, jace's political situation is highly fragile right now, and likely will remain this way especially for the first few years that he sits the throne. he's going to be held to a much higher standard than any king or queen has ever been held to, and this includes his consort. jace needs a consort who isn't splitting their time and energy between their duties to him and ruling an entire house and castle. he needs someone who can stay with him and the red keep as a valuable political player within king's landing and who will be seen as 100% committed to their role as consort. just as jace and all of his advisors will need to be seen as fully dedicated to their respective duties.
tldr laenor was expected to get several years to settle in before inheriting anything, to have enough free time to rule driftmark, and to be consort in a time of relative peace and stability. he also wasn't breaking precedent and didn't need to be stellar at being consort or ruling driftmark. baela would have ascended to her position as consort already bearing the burden of driftmark with no time to settle into her new role, and would not have the spare time and ability to travel that would be required to rule driftmark. she wouldn't be able to get away with being anything less than perfect at either of her roles, which would have been impossible.
i hope this helps! and again, happy to have daeron note this in a few chaps if you think it'll be helpful for other readers :)

Can you pretty please talk more about the point system? <3 A compatibility point system sounds so intriguing and organic. 👀
Tumblr media
I love yall both very much @n0tafish @hummingbird-games and I will NOT be ignoring U_U
Tumblr media
You'll have three in-game days to earn points before being locked into a route (an assigned work partner/mentor).
The numbers I've tallied so far are for the entirety of day one, in which:
You get long scenes with Warden, Griffin, and Jade.
You get much shorter scenes with Mia and Dart.
However, the available points aren't necessarily tied to their screen time. While Mia's scene is brief, she can feel VERY strongly about the MC (both positive and negative), so she has a higher point total than you'd expect. On the other hand, even though Jade has a long scene, she's less impressionable and therefore has less points.
Warden has more points because he's invested in you and wants to see you succeed - but on the other hand, you can disappoint him a great deal by not living up to the image he has of you in his head.
Meanwhile, Dart is just plain not that invested in your first meeting lol.
Griffin is a bit more special: Griffin has more points because she's being generous and wants to give you a fair chance, and is therefore much more forgiving when you mess up or say something weird. (Also, Griffin is just a sort of unflappable and even-tempered person).
More under the cut!
Okay, so now that we've covered what the compatibility point totals represent, I should point out that there's three types of choices to be aware of if you want to minmax a character's compatibility:
1. GROUP CHOICES
Tumblr media
This usually involves your personal beliefs. For example, you can decide how you feel about a celebrity hero who's fallen very far from grace. It's not that each choice matches a specific character - but how likely they are to agree with you, to varying degrees.
They don't feel strongly about the topic though (unless they're Mia, who feels a little stronger and agrees with two choices), hence they only give out 1 or 2 points.
Tumblr media
Then there's choices like this; Warden and Griffin appreciate you sympathizing with fans, Griffin and Jade will be amused that you'll 'yes and' the bit (or are chaotic enough to burn fanmail), Mia and Dart appreciate you deferring to Gemini, and while Mia just generally wants to defer to authority, Griffin does NOT like it if you're that worried about what Warden thinks.
Overall the Group Choices tend to offer fewer points, but they can add up. If you're compatible with two characters, your morals/expression from your Group Choices might just be a tiebreaker.
2. INDIVIDUAL CHOICES
This is a more standard-fare visual novel set-up, I think. Individual choices usually involve talking to that character directly, and not being RUDE to them (unless you're trying to farm those sweet sweet penalties or have a moment of weakness).
Tumblr media
There are "correct" choices and "incorrect" ones. Dart's especially prickly on the first day, so doing anything to interrupt his work will make him think you're not compatible.
Tumblr media
Mia is also rather prickly, but she's more willing to be won over. As long as you don't antagonize her afterwards, she'll really like it if you compliment her nails.
3. FLAVOR CHOICES
These are the ones that don't necessarily affect anything aside from dialogue. For example:
Tumblr media
The love interests aren't going to your judge compatibility based on what you like to eat, but they DO want you to eat. You can't escape at least getting some toast!
And... yep, that's three.
However, even if you don't know how the points work, I think you'll be able to get the character you want by being honest. I want the game to be not only organic, but very forgiving.
You're only expected to get about 60% compatibility to be "doing well" with a character by the end of day one, but there's still going to be two more days to earn points (and Griffin may or may not directly ask who you WANT to end up with - which doesn't cancel out your most compatible person, but might give the desired character a small boost.)
Okay I think that covers most everything sdjbnflsd thank you for asking!!! <3 <3 <3

Gatekeeper x Reader Headcanons
⚔️There was no way Holly liked you back... right? Right??? She's all high and mighty and hardly even wanted to talk to you, so SURELY she didn't like you back...?
⚔️Well one day she calls you pathetic for being too shy to share your feelings with her and confesses that she has a crush on you. Wait, she knew?? How? She tells you it was painfully obvious. Oh.
⚔️So you two started dating after that.
⚔️She's not used to saying nice things and you've learned when she's insulting you but like /aff versus when she's actually kinda mad and it's /neg. She's working on not just spewing out insults and she knows it hurts you when she's being genuine about her words!
⚔️Holly will also feel like she has to protect you from, well, almost everything. She will cite that if you two had a 1v1 fight she would absolutely destroy you as her reasoning for wanting to constantly protect you {yes Holly, attacking someone 3 times when they only get 1 tends to put you at a greater advantage in a 1v1 setting}.
⚔️If she starts to get too overprotective just remind her that you can in fact do things by yourself and you managed to survive [age] years before dating her.
⚔️At least she's good at getting what you/she want{s} from others. Staring at them with her red eyes and not saying anything tends to make people cooperate more readily.
⚔️She would be SO embarrassed about the huge loss of reputation if her coworkers found out she was dating a toon, so if you visit her while she's working she tries her best to treat you like any other toon. It's actually pretty funny because if you get really flirty with her she doesn't really know how to react.
⚔️In general PDA makes her very flustered and not know how to respond.
⚔️Need something done? She's already working on it and it will be done to even higher standards than she already has because her partner deserves better than perfection. Be it helping you fix your computer or getting you a new shelf, she will make sure it's the best you've ever seen and will ever see.
⚔️Holly can get a bit nervous about physical affection even behind closed doors because she's just not used to it, but over time she will warm up to the idea more and more. She'll even start to initiate it eventually.
⚔️Expect to hear a lot of attempts at compliments like, "Thou art but a pathetic- I meaneth... low skilled amateur. However, thou has madeth an attempt."
⚔️It's hard for Holly not to judge every tiny thing about you when it's her general personality and her job, but she'll get better about just appreciating you for who you are and acknowledging that's why she loves you in the first place.
⚔️Overall, your relationship might start off pretty rocky with a lot of judgement and being insulted a lot but Holly will learn how to give compliments and not be judgemental about everything. But she'll still always be protective of you, that's never going away.

Since my post about the Freddys at Fazbear Estate swearing and saying "fuck" seems to be going over rather well, allow me to tell you who is at the opposite end of the scale: the Foxy models.
Classic Foxy: In front of children and Fazbear Entertainment's higher-ups, Foxy doesn't swear at all. But all the rest of the time, he uses a lot of swear words casually, including "fuck". In fact, "fuck" is his favorite swear! He loves how versatile it is. He isn't insensitive, however; if someone tells him they're uncomfortable with his foul language, he'll dial it back accordingly. Foxy's a good guy. Foul-mouthed, but a good guy.
Mangle/Toy Foxy: Has been known to swear if she's angry or threatening someone. She likes swearing for the effect of it, so she saves her foulest language for when she knows it will get people's attention. "Fuck" is one of her heavy-duty swears, so it's rare to hear it from her. She's also been known to playfully trade creative swears and insults with her husband, or with Toy Chica, or Toy Bonnie. That's in all in good fun, though.
Nightmare Foxy: Just as foul-mouthed as his Classic counterpart. It just sounds more menacing when he does it, because Nightmare Foxy is very proud of how terrifying he is. He can also be quite mean and taunting with his swears. His favorite swears are "fuck", "bitch", and "fucking bitch". He can get more creative than that when he wants to, though. Best that you don't test him on that one unless you want to get verbally destroyed.
Funtime Foxy: He knows a myriad of swears, and tends to use them as casually and creatively as possible. Never in front of children, though. Human adults usually don't get mad at Funtime Foxy for swearing; they're mostly in awe of his way with words, no matter how foul. Since he's a performer by design, he tries to make every word he says count. This Includes "fuck", though unlike his sibling Mangle, he tends to use the word like it was going out of style.
Rockstar Foxy: He's just as much of a foul-mouth as Classic Foxy, but bear in mind, Rockstar Foxy isn't alone. He has his parrot, and his parrot is also a foul-mouth. Rockstar Foxy's parrot - Polly - is able to think and even fly just like a real parrot. Polly is able to mimic speech, whether from humans or animatronics, and this has led to some very embarrassing moments for Rockstar Foxy when he's performing for children. He usually takes the opportunity to teach kids that it's wrong to swear... only to head back home and cuss his head off. Polly hasn't learned a thing. Both are fond of the "f" word.
Roxanne Wolf: Now, before you say anything, yes, Roxanne counts as a Foxy. And good lord, she has SUCH A DIRTY MOUTH. She'll never swear in front of children, but she'll cuss up a storm in front of everyone else. This is because she's angry, frustrated, and depressed. Cursing helps her relieve that stress. She can be MEAN. Somebody please get this poor wolf a therapist... ahem. She says the word "fuck" way more than everyone else at the estate.

Spice tolerance of the muses!
Jaspern: He's okay with some spice, but once it starts getting to the point of being numbing, he doesn't really care for it. 2.5/5
JJ: He's good with his spice! Doesn't eat it all the time, which makes people think he's a baby about spice, only for them to be proved horribly, horribly wrong, later. 4/5
Ber: Okay with spice on certain foods, but decidedly not on others. Ex. Back of the mouth spicy is fine, but tip of the tongue spicy, not so much. 3/5.
Melchior: He actually can't handle much spice, but it's because lots of spice makes his venom especially potent, and it'll start burning his skin, etc. Not a fun time, so he just tends to avoid really spicy and really acidic foods. 1/5. If his venom weren't a problem, he'd be a solid 5/5, for sure.
Orin: They're naturally a spice baby? They want to like it though, and so they've managed to, over time, raise their tolerance to a 2/5.
Vanyllo: Most spice will have him choking immediately. And before you give him shit about it, he wants you to tell him what spicy food you can find under the damn ocean! Yeah. He thought so! 0/5
Darrow: He's better with spicy foods than you would think, though he'll be the first to admit that he doesn't eat them too often. It's one of those things he has to be in the mood for. 3.5/5. Maybe 4/5 on a good day.
Eleare: Do they look like a masochist to you? No. (and if you said yes, they give you the finger. it's okay though. I also said yes) Get that spicy shit out of their face, they're here for flavor, not a sensory fist fight with their noodles, thank you. 2/5.
Sivel: He's asking why the food hurts, ("Was it made incorrectly? What? It's supposed to be like this? For what reason?") but he's still eating it. Would quickly decide that he likes it, even if he's a little confused by it. 5/5
Alsina: Not as much of a fan as Sivel is. She'll eat it, but only if it's not just spicy. 3.5/5. She also wouldn't eat spicy food willingly, unless it's one of the only things available, or a friend made it for her.
Zikiriel: Spicy isn't actually something an angel can taste/feel (kind of like a bird, their bodies just don't process the capsaicin), so he's technically disqualified from this list! Man could put a whole apollo pepper in his mouth, and be totally fine. infinity/5
Pythius: Can't actually handle spicy food as well as you might think. Like the "slow to build, lingers a while" type of heat, though. 2.5/5
Death: Where Death grew up is known for having all kinds of different spicy foods! Honestly they probably have the highest tolerance of all the muses, with Pereux, Sivel, and Ezra being close behind? (Zi doesn't count) 6/5.
Aile: Spicy food is fine. He's the type that likes at least a little heat on everything he eats, but sticks toward the more dry type spiciness. 4/5.
Ouza: Another that's disqualified. Angels can't process capsaicin. No, not even fallen angels. (though that would be really funny. angel gets cast out and hit with the spicy hammer immediately) Just know that if he could, he would 100% be a spice baby. Sorry Ouza. infinity/5
Baphomet: Surprisingly, can not handle spice well. But he likes to act like he can, so sometimes he'll eat things spicier than he can handle just because. 1/5. Will pretend to be a 3/5 even as he's sweating and red-faced.
Ezzion: Doesn't like spicy food, but can tolerate some. Catch them getting a jalapeno that had been hidden on their nachos, and they're making a very displeased face, even if it's not actually bad. They do like spicy pickled peppers, though! 2/5
Felesio: He's fine with it. A lot of the "higher class/status" denizens of Carpathia, who eat regular food more often along with blood (even if they literally don't gain anything from regular food. rich people, man.) tend to eat spicy food fairly often. Why? I have no clue, they think it looks good for some reason. Either way, Fele, who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, handles it fine, and likes to indulge in it on occasion. 4/5.
Jinnea: Jinnie, unlike Fele, didn't grow up eating regular food at all, so she doesn't tolerate spicy food that well. Most of the time, if she gets something like that, she just gives it to her husband. 1/5.
Ezra: 5/5. We'll just get that out of the way right out the gate. You might think it's because he's a nephilim, so that would mean that his capacity for tasting/feeling spice like that would be lower. And you're right, it does! But even when he's reincarnated into a life that he's not an angel/half angel, he just inhales spicy food like his life depends on it. I dunno, man. I dunno.
Nirbhi: Moderate spice tolerance. 3/5. She really likes spicy food that has more citrus-y notes that go along with it.
Pereux: Another 5/5. She actually used to just kind of be able to tolerate it, thanks to not really experiencing much of it when she was younger (1 or 2/5 maybe). She's grown much more fond of it over the ages, though!
Niesal: They're not gonna eat spicy food by itself, even if they tolerate it well. Give them some rice or something to eat with it, though, and they're all for it! 4/5
Zeqyabin: Variable. Sometimes it's a 1/5, sometimes it's a 4/5. You would think it depends on the spice type, but I think it's more a mood thing? Who knows, with him.
Tarinx: Similar to the angels, but instead of just not being able to taste/feel spice, Irekoli like him just have a really dull sense of taste, overall. So he kind of has the opposite problem, where if he's eating something spicy, that's generally the only thing that he can "taste" (since spicy is technically a feeling, as opposed to a flavor), and is met with instant dislike. 0/5.

Headcanons Part 2
James Bond knows and has a fatherly relationship with Alex Rider. They met on a join mission between MI6's Double-Oh branch and the join MI6-MI5's Special Operations Branch that is the only branch capable of operating both inside and outside of the United Kingdom. James was assigned to play the role of Alex's father on an op and, well, he never really stopped playing the role. James and Q have plans to adopt the kid once they get enough time alone to sort out the paperwork and talk to Alex about it. Jack and Eve also get along in a way that none of them really understand.
I also like to think Ian Rider was OO2 and the go between for MI6 and Special Operations - hence why he was one of the few Double-Ohs cleared for operating legally on UK soil.
All the Double-Ohs see each other as more or less siblings - which when added with the idea that Silva was OO7 before James was all the more painful. The parallels work, their messed up childhoods because there is no way Silva didn't have childhood trauma, being Ms favourites and the personal meetings between the two - Silva meeting the his new 'baby brother' who took his place as 'Mummy's' favourite.
The Double-Ohs also play very competitive games whenever most of them are on shore leave. Things such as poker, manhunt and hide and seek. R has shot OO5 at least twice because she scared them and of course they carry?
Tanner could have been a Double-Oh. The only reason he didn't qualify is that sadly he suffers from asthma. Instead he took up the role of Chief of Staff, and Ms personal body guard. Most didn't know that about him, until that one time someone made a run past security and Bill took them out in less than 2 seconds. Even some of the official Double-Ohs are afraid of him - especially after he becomes Chief of Staff.
People seem to forget Q isn't just deadly with a laptop - as well being proficient in hand to hand combat, the Quartermaster is deadly with a sniper rifle and has startlingly good aim with a pistol. Good enough to rival James'. After all, MI6 wouldn't let him build the Agent's weapons if he didn't at least know how to use them.
James cannot watch spy flicks without tearing them to shreds - Eve and Tanner enjoy them because the pair love tearing them to shreds. Q enjoys the obviously impossible plots but by god will he point out the plot holes and rant about how things could have been done better. R loves them because they're easy to watch and so unrealistic they help to unwind.
MI6 as a collective will bet on literally anything. Will it rain tomorrow? £5 on at midday. Will OO7 bring his gear back? Is our darling Quartermaster related to the detective that faked his own death a few years back? Are Tanner and M dating? Does Eve know Dame Maggie Smith? (spoiler alter: yes she does.)
Eve and Tanner have very quietly-aggressive games of chess. The set lives in Ms office, he plays too sometimes but mostly its the Secretary and the Chief of Staff. Current score is 127:112
Expanding on my Q curses like a sailor headcanon - he frequently does do in other languages but never ever around kids. One time he swore in Spanish in front of Minion 27s kids and didn't forgive himself for 3 months.
Q rarely sleeps, but when he does it's usually on someone. He has a habit of sleeping on James' shoulder even before they were together - once they were that shoulder nap became a lap nap. James loves to play with Q's hair when that happens, Q can't really object. Even if it does make, as Eve put it once, him look like a "disgruntled kitten".
Everyone assumes Eve is the Gossip Machine of M-Branch and the higher ups and boy are they wrong. Sure, she'll share a lot of it, but most of her gossip isn't Moneypenny sourced. She gets most of it from Bill. As Chief of Staff with exceptional field and espionage training, its hard to find something that Bill doesn't know in the building. He has a list of questionable people who might maybe be up to something.

Title: Ready or Not Fandom: Transformers IDW2 Ship: Arcee/Greenlight Word Count: 1000 Rating: PG Summary: Missing scene. Arcee and Greenlight prepare themselves to meet their new ward. A/N: For Femslash February and for the femslash100100 prompt “ready”! I'm finally allowed to post my piece for Femme Metale-- which I'll be doing shortly-- and it put me in a mood for more Arceenlight+Gauge :D Granted, Gauge is barely in this but still!
.
All of Cybertron seemed to be speaking at once, white noise dancing like static over Arcee's last functioning nerve. Her hands twitched for a weapon-- a blade, a blaster, anything at all that she could use. But, of course, no weapon would serve her here, now.
Her hands twitched again in spite of the thought and Greenlight caught one of them in one of her own, a better fit than any weapon ever had been. Maybe, Arcee thought, this was what she had been twitching for after all. She returned the grip and turned to find Greenlight smiling at her. Arcee felt herself relax but couldn't dredge up a smile of her own.
"It's alright to be nervous," Greenlight said, the murmur somehow cutting through the incessant background noise of the crowd. Her smile faltered and Arcee could see the flicker of a shadow beyond the love shining in the light of her optics. She hadn't known Brainstorm well but she had known him and the shock of his death-- his murder-- ran deep regardless. "Especially now."
"There was supposed to be more time," Arcee said, the words heavy with the topic she was speaking around. "I didn't expect--"
"Who did?" Greenlight's grip grew tighter, her face haunted. "Who could have?" She shook it off a moment later, leaning to press her forehead to Arcee's and reaching for Acree's other hand. If Arcee had been any less familiar with Greenlight's touch, she didn't think she'd have noticed the tremble. "But we're here now, one way or another. And soon," she tipped her head, and Arcee's with her, towards the platform at the base of the Pyramid, "she'll be here too." In a passable imitation of Proxima, she added, "'It always seems too soon until you've met them-- that's when you realize you couldn't have known them soon enough.'"
Arcee managed a dry huff of a laugh. "I've read the book, Greenlight." She shifted their grip so that she could hide her own tremors between Greenlight's fingers. "Which means I also read the part that says no plan survives first contact with the-- with your new ward." She nuzzled Greenlight and drew back to look at the stage. Orion Pax had raised his hands for attention so that he could begin his speech. It wouldn't be long now for their cue. "I don't understand how you're so calm."
She looked back in time to see Greenlight startle, as if nervousness hadn't occurred to her. "Well, I suppose it's because you're the newly assigned mentor here, not me-- I'm just here for moral support."
"What." Another laugh, this one higher than the last, found its way out of Arcee's vocalizer. "Greenlight, you're going to be as much of a mentor as I am."
The light of Greenlight's optics went pale and when she squeezed Arcee's hands again, she didn't seem to be offering comfort so much as asking for it. "I-- I suppose I didn't think about it that way--"
"We talked about this before I even applied."
"Yes, we-- but I just-- it--" Greenlight reset her vocalizer with an audible click and looked towards the still sealed door of the Pyramid with an almost desperate air. "It completely slipped my mind, I think. Like the memory file got buried under the-- all the excitement. You were the one whose application was selected, you were the one who got the call--"
"As if who I had beside me as a co-mentor didn't make any difference to my being accepted," said Arcee. She could feel a smile growing now as her spark danced in her chamber, spreading warmth throughout her frame. Greenlight's expression seemed to dance too; Arcee watched with no small fascination as Greenlight sped through what she suspected was every emotion she herself had felt since she'd been notified of her assignment.
Not for the first time in the last two kilocycles-- or even the last cycle, come to that-- Arcee found herself falling in love with her all over again.
"I'm going to be a mentor," Greenlight said as if in a daze. She turned that desperate look back on Arcee now. "Arcee, I'm about to be a mentor."
Arcee laughed, leaning back in to press their foreheads together again. A thought about the timing tickled her processor but she pushed it away, cast the light of the occasion against the shadow of the reason for it. Her new ward-- their new ward-- deserved a better welcome than that. She said, "We're about to be mentors."
Greenlight's expression smoothed back into a smile of her own, though her trembling was rather more obvious. "Together."
"As always," said Arcee, expression softening. She tugged on their joined hands and then shook them loose so that she could hold Greenlight close with a grip on her shoulders instead.
Hands falling to Arcee's waist, Greenlight nuzzled along Arcee's jaw to her audial and added, "As we were meant to be."
For a moment, they might as well have been the only two living beings on the planet. Then Orion Pax, booming and warm, announced them-- announced Arcee, at any rate, which was as good as announcing them both.
With a parting brush of lips, they separated and Arcee saw all of her own feelings, from her fear to her wonder, reflected in Greenlight's face. They joined hands again, intertwined fingers squeezing tight. Their plating sang as excitement made it shudder in rippling waves against their protoforms.
"That's us," Arcee said, laughing at herself as she did.
Grinning, Greenlight nudged her shoulder against Arcee's, urging her towards the stage. "Then let's go," she said. "Remember what Proxima says--"
"We can't meet her soon enough," said Arcee. She shook herself sharply and strode forward, tugging Greenlight along-- not that she needed to be tugged, really. Not once she saw-- and Arcee knew from her grip the minute she saw-- a lone little figure silhouetted by the light pouring now from the Pyramid doors. "Ready or not."
