Toxic SW Fans After TFA: This is just copying the original trilogy! Rey is just female Luke, wokeness gone mad do something new!!
Toxic SW Fans After TLJ: Wait this is DIFFERENT? This trilogy is doing something new and the characters from the original trilogy have changed and evolved after decades!?! No, no, make Rey Luke’s daughter and just like him!
Toxic SW Fans After TROS: Wow, that made no sense and was terribly written hmm it’s almost like they were bullied into catering to the most toxic corner of the fandom who didn’t know what they even wanted and pushed a bunch of stupid contradictory theories because they didn’t care to understand this story solely because it’s not the original trilogy I WONDER WHO DID THAT

SPOILERS IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED THE THIRD EPISODE OF AHSOKA
PRO JEDI RANT DOWN BELOW
Tumblr media
This Loth Cat is a good representation of me not losing my mind on how badly the Jedi Order is being completely defiled by Feloni. Okay…so apparently according to Feloni anybody can just be a Jedi if they try really, really hard and believe in them because the Force resides in everyone when we all know that that’s not fucking true according to Lucas. Yes, the Force resides in all things HOWEVER it is the Force sensitive (I.e. the Jedi and Sith) that are able to wield the Force because they’ve got the blood to do so (midocholorians… I’m sure I’ve butchered the spelling forgive me). So with that being said, does anything in Star Wars even matter anymore? Like honestly.
By this logic…anybody in the OT could have just destroyed the Sith if they tRiEd HaRd EnOuGh. So I guess fuck the importance of Luke Skywalker and all the other survivors of Order 66? And I suppose by this logic none of the prequel Jedi or hell even Anakin doesn’t matter because anybody can just wield a lightsaber and tap into the Force if tHeY jUsT bElIeVeD iN tHeMsElVeS? Why does Rey matter when apparently anyone could have taken down the First Order and destroyed Palpatine when some fucking Mando could have just done the job of being Force sensitive doesn’t matter?
Like believe me guys, I am TRYING so hard not to be a hater but it truly makes me sad to see the one element of Star Wars I love so much (I.e. the Jedi Order and everything they do and stand for) just get picked apart and trashed over and over and over again. I just don’t understand it and I know I can’t be the only one feeling like this.
Also Ahsoka’s character right now is reminding me of Luke’s in TLJ where I feel like I’m seeing and hearing a completely different character and it’s heartbreaking when you’ve looked up and loved these heroes so much. Like for Gods sake can we settle the score in where Ahsoka stands with the Jedi? Is she or is she not? Because right now she’s doing a poor representation of all her mentors who have lost their lives staying true to themselves, Jedi who gave everything to protect and save lives. Now she seems to just go out of her way to scoff at the Order that raised her, similar to Luke dismissing the very thing that gave him hope in the OT.
As these new shows go on, it just makes the fall of the Jedi Order all the more tragic just seeing how their sacrifice and good will meant absolutely nothing. That’s why characters like Cal Kestis and Cere Junda are incredible. They stayed true to their Jedi values no matter what because that’s what the galaxy needs, heroes who care. Not heroes who have personal agendas.

The Rise of Skywalker could have continued to build on the ideas Yoda presents to Luke in The Last Jedi. Rey could have held her own amongst a bunch of legacy characters and been the 'nobody' who saved the galaxy. Instead, she becomes a vessel for the most boring and uninspired kind of nostalgia. Rey takes on Palpatine, and The Rise of Skywalker seems to think that we'll buy the stakes presented. But the shoehorned story about Rey battling an evil legacy is a cheap cover of what the filmmakers really want to do: make this story all about Luke Skywalker.
Rey defeats Palpatine by melting him with Luke and Leia's lightsabers, killing herself in the process. It's Ben Solo who cares enough to give his life to Rey. She comes back to life, and suddenly the power of the dyad, 'a power like life itself', isn't enough to save Ben Solo (the actual remaining member of the family the movie is so obsessed with). [...] Rey doesn't learn how to be enough on her own, independent of any lineage. She doesn't get to be with Ben, and her friendships and the themes of found family that Star Wars does so well are set aside in favor of fetch-quests and nostalgia worship.

Rey: *Lifts rocks with the Force and holds back a ship*
"Oh my gosh look at how OP she is! That should take years, decades of training! Actually not even Yoda himself could do that, she's breaking the entire Star Wars universe! Mary Sue! Feminist girlboss power fantasy! Kathleen Kennedy self-insert!"
Ahsoka Tano: *Is connected to the all-powerful World-Between-Worlds such that she can just accidentally fall into it to save her life, kills Jedi-hunters in a single move, is declared to be better than all the other Jedi by virtue of some nonsense training Anakin gave her, also holds back a ship piloted by a Sith Lord, survives all the eras of Star Wars, and looks ready to inherit the position of Daughter thus exalting herself into godhood.*
"Now that's how you do a female character! Not a Mary Sue like Rey Palpatine!"

In light of the oncoming anti Jedi nightmare of the acolyte (and filoni's crap) let us take solace in the fact that when asked if Rey would have any bio kids, Daisy Ridley's response was "no she's a Jedi"

I've decided I don't like the "disaster lineage" thing, I never really have, so I'm creating some new "lineage" names to better represent the way I interpret the characters.
The "infinite lineage" includes: Yoda, Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, Luke, and Rey.
I chose "infinite lineage" to reference how this lineage in particular is the one through which the Jedi Order keeps continuing on despite everything and everyone trying to wipe them off the map entirely. This is the lineage that PERSEVERES, that stays the course, that refuses to let the Jedi way of life die.
The "insidious lineage" includes: Palpatine, Anakin, Ahsoka, and the Ahsoka show version of Sabine.
This is the lineage that destroys, the one that passes on Sith teachings through subtle manipulation, slowly eroding the parts of its lineage that were once Jedi until what's left is just a sad pitiful little shell of selfishness and very little else. You can include characters like Dooku, Maul, Savage, and Ventress in here as well, though obviously these are all different branches stemming from Palpatine rather than one nice unbroken line, but the same general concept still applies. Anything good that used to exist in some of these people is just slowly chipped away by darkness until nothing's left of the people they used to be.

Reylo was always the plan, it was foreshadowed from TFA (so was Stormpilot but they chickened out of giving us gay representation). Han and Leia’s only son, the last actual Skywalker, was not supposed to be tossed aside and Rey was supposed to show that anyone can be force-sensitive, anyone can make a difference, she wasn’t supposed to be a Mary Sue who only got everything about her character from male characters.
TROS made no sense because it was fan-service for the most misogynistic dudebro fans who didn’t know what they were talking about they just hated Ben for “crying” because they can’t handle emotional complexity and male abuse victims, and hated Rey for having powers not given to her by a man. 🙄

It's so funny to me that Disney even managed to disappoint EVERYONE with the rise of Skywalker. Usually, displeasing a part of a fandom at least means another part is getting catered to. But the rise of Skywalker? Pissed off EVERYONE.
The bigoted fans were mad at the 2 second gay kiss and 2 black characters existing, the anti-racist fans were mad finn's sidelining was continued and rose barely on screen, the gay fans were mad at disney using the gay kiss for marketing while removing it in homophobic countries, and no finnpoe despite both actors and directors agreeing with the fandom that it made sense. The people who hated reylo were mad they kissed, the reylos were mad kylo died. The people who like good villains got palpatine AGAIN. The people who like cohesive stories got a mess of storylines barely holding together full of plot holes (remember that sith dagger in the shape of the death star wreckage?). Aside from lando and wedge, not even that many good cameos. The stakes felt meaningless, a whole planet blew up and nobody gave a fuck because.... it was riddled with criminals? I guess?? The people here just for action scenes didn't get anything extraordinary.
Astonishing how well it frustrated every fucking body no matter what you're watching star wars for
