You were so kind to answer my previous question that I'd like to ask you another! What is your own opinion on the "Red is really Katarina" theory, if you have one? So many posters on reddit are of the opinion that Red is Kat with various "proofs" and theories, etc., based on what Red had said about himself and his past experiences, especially with babies. Thanks, so much, again!
Tumblr media
Oh boy. I know you said you are new to Tumblr but I try at this point never to speak of that theory because avoiding discussing it is the only way I can bring myself to still watch. I will never believe it was the original plan from the Pilot. While I concede they teased it hard in S8, I view it as so absolutely irreconcilable with most of the canon of the first few seasons that I will never accept it unless they come out and own it explicitly which so far, they have not.

Liz: And how should I look at this? Red: Like a criminal. May come easier than you think. Shall I show you? The Blacklist.
PART ONE
🕵️‍♂️
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This line makes a parental connection between Liz and Red.
Episode 4.22
Tumblr media
The second crucial line in the pilot that showrunners confirm was an Imposter clue is the “Everything about me is a lie” line.
Parental connection via the criminal parallel +
Red is not her father but an imposter of her father. =
Red is The Mother.
Wild ass speculation:
The mother died of WEAKNESS AND SHAME as per what Red told Liz in the pilot. Interestingly, that line about weakness and shame was different on the draft pilot script dated 2012 that somehow made it online and fans have decided to dissect it carefully. LOL.
In the original draft, her mother worked two jobs to keep Liz in school and out of juvenile court. Some anti-Redarina fans say this is evidence that Red was originally not supposed to be the mom as the mom would have raised Liz until she was 14. That same draft has Liz's age as 36 later changed to 29/30. Liz: There was a fire. I was fourteen. Mr. Kaplan: You tell people you got it when you were 14. Why is that? Liz: To hide the truth?
I disagree that any of this disproves Redarina. It is possible that her mother still could have disappeared and re-emerged as the imposter.
Liz's age was changed to 4 because maybe they realized that if Liz was 14, she could've remembered Red or saw something in him like his eyes. Changing her age to four years old IMHO, would've made it less likely for Liz to remember details, like Red's eyes. In the Luther Braxton Conclusion episode, it seemed Liz recognized that Red was at the fire by his EYES. She saw her mother in Red's eyes in the season 8 finale so. Add in the fact that Red had her memories erased.
And anyway, if they had kept it that the mom worked two jobs, etc, etc.. She still went somewhere and was out of the picture> Liz told Cooper she raised herself so both parents were out of the picture. Liz: Like most kids who raised themselves, I can display narcissistic behavior. I can be withdrawn, disconnected.
Tumblr media
THINK LIKE A CRIMINAL. The showrunners talk about Liz’s darkness and how she's becoming more like Red.
SEASON 3 - THE AU REVIEW
(When Liz and Red went on the run)
John Eisendrath: In terms of where Liz is heading, I think she’s struggling with this notion that there’s a piece within her that is criminal. Red told her in the very first episode of the show ‘think like a criminal, it may come easier to you than you may expect’ and I think that sort of haunts her, and now, even though she has whispers of a criminal past that we’ve alluded to, now that she’s being confronted with actually being a criminal, she’s had to rely on these instincts that she wants to ignore and pretend like they’re not there – and now she needs them.” So, not only is Liz forced to embrace a darker side that might be within her, we’re also getting to go out and travel with Red and to see him take the reigns and see how he operates and where he goes and stays in ways that we haven’t really seen before. Liz is going to take the audience by the hand and go into Red’s world a little bit more and learn about how he moves and operates which is going to be a lot of fun.
SEASON 5 TV GUIDE - SEASON 5
Daddy issues. If you thought the discovery that Red is her father would put an end to Liz's identity crisis once and for all, think again. "Her father is essentially the devil," Bokenkamp says. "She's confronting some frightening questions about who she is and what's in her DNA and that fight between good and evil. ... Liz is going to be combating that instinct to perhaps break the rules and fighting a darker side of herself that she knows is probably right under the surface." But in some twisted way, embracing her true nature may make Liz even better at her job. "Is she like Reddington?" Bokenkamp wonders. "He told her early, 'Think like a criminal. It may come easier than you think.'"
SEASON 5 ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY
How is Liz dealing with the truth that Red is her father?
Jon Bokenkamp: It’s going to be interesting to watch it play out, because I think she’s secretly terrified, or maybe not so secretly terrified, that the devil is her father and that she may have some of those instincts. He told her in the pilot, “Think like a criminal. It may come easier to you than you think,” and we’ve seen aspects of that. She murdered the Attorney General and has been on the run in the past. And so, I think she’s going to plant her flag early on that she’s a cop first and that is probably going to be a season-long struggle for her.
Elizabeth Keen No. 1 on The Blacklist.
SEASON 8 ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY
Megan Boone: I was definitely hoping it would be Liz at No. 1, but I didn't want to presume," Boone says. "I have to say… it's an honor.
SEASON 8 ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY
John Eisendrath: From the second Reddington walked into her life, a dark path was always a possibility for Liz. "One of the dramatic questions from the beginning is how this master criminal's desire to connect with this innocent FBI agent would change her life," Eisendrath explains. To find Blacklisters, Reddington has encouraged Liz to understand the mindset and think like a criminal. "She's learned at the feet of a master," he adds. The FBI agent's key moments, including learning she has the Warrior gene in her DNA and covering up a murder she committed, coupled with what Reddington has been teaching her, have been leading her to this place. Now, she's been pulled far enough into the dark side to be at the top of Red's list.
Red told Cooper that what Liz did by betraying them in this episode and kidnapping Dom was her “destiny.” What does that mean?
SEASON 8 THE WRAP
Bokenkamp:
I think what Red was talking about goes to the core of who Liz is. Is she fundamentally good? Is she fundamentally bad? Has she reached a tipping point that she can’t return from, or was this meant to be because it’s in her DNA? We’ve seen Liz dip her toes in the dark waters over the years — she’s certainly not that innocent, young FBI agent that we met in the pilot — and this season is going to explore her darker side. I think the real question lies in seeing how she navigates these dark waters and, if she does survive this, how she looks when she comes out the other side.
Eisendrath:
This has been a question since the pilot. First when she thought Red was her father; later when she realized Katarina Rostova was her mother — how much of a parent’s behavior is a child destined to repeat? In Liz’s case, how much bad behavior?
Tumblr media
The murder of Attorney General Tom Connolly (Reed Birney) was more about Liz than it was about her executing him. "It reflected to the audience about how far Liz is willing to go," Bokenkamp says. "That murder is very telling of who she was, and perhaps even who she was in the process of becoming." It got at the core of a debate the writers had for years, which was whether she's destined to embrace her darkness or it was free will that she chose to do these things. Liz's desperate action was not just a considerable character turn, but it sent her on the road with Reddington. Spending time with him meant seeing that she was more like him than she wanted to admit. - Entertainment Weekly
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Warrior Gene - Dr.Linus Creel Episode 2.04
The episode did not confirm that Liz had the warrior gene though it was implied. In later interviews, the showrunners confirm that Liz DID possess it.
Samar: I received everything Creel had on file at the hospital patient records, test results Including yours. We logged everything else into evidence, but I thought perhaps you would want that. It’s probably meaningless, right? Do you think Reddington could have known, when he gave you this case, that you’d find out?

I stopped watching the blacklist many episodes ago 'cause it's clear they'll never reveal red's true identity...
I think it's disrespectful to the viewers that have been watching since the beginning
but I guess they'll never do it 'cause if they say red is a man, friend, lover or whatever, redarina fans will be mad and if they say red's katarina, straight fans will be mad...
ps: anti redarina fans don't know how sex reassignment surgery works. trust me, there's ex women that look more man than a man, they look like a giant gay bear. so laugh at steroids or whatever, it is possible to change bones, etc.

So I’m fairly new to the Blacklist fandom.
The fuck is Redarina???
Not “the fuck” as in “what is it?” but “the fuck” as in “WHY DOES THIS EXIST???”
Look y’all theorize what you want but let me just say that you cannot add spine bones to a human being
Like that is not possible
If Red were really Katarina, then they would’ve been the same height, and James Spader and Lotte Verbeek are not the same height (Spader is 5’10, Verbeek is 5’6)
Gender reassignment surgery cannot change height
(And also side note: why the hell would Red see himself in Cape May? Makes no damn sense)
Anyway that’s my two cents; there’s wayyyy more evidence that Redarina cannot be true but this is the most damning evidence imo
Imma vibe in my corner of father-daughter love now

Now that I’ve had some time to cry & mourn & actually think about that horrendous excuse for television... I have... some thoughts.
Firstly, the pace of that episode was insane. I mean, the season itself felt like we were slowly & tortuously hacking our way through a tangled rain forest, trying desperately to see the forest for the trees, but instead stuck cutting vines & branches down one by one... until we got to that finale, which felt comparatively like finally cutting away all the dense foliage only to immediately fall off a fucking cliff. You could just tell they were using the least amount of dialogue they could to move through so many weird emotions at fucking breakneck speed. I mean there was... the brief aftermath in Latvia, the 4 second plane ride to re-introduce Red’s illness after how many eps, Liz’s 3 second long recuperation, the awkward attempt at humor with the helium followed by a crash landing into solemnity at Red’s talk with Cooper, the abrupt & unsatisfying discussion with Red & Liz where he makes his rEqUESt, all the different “heartfelt” one-on-ones with Liz’s people, the fucking forced af “romance” with K**nler, the shoe-horned “chance meeting” with Beth Ryker, the most Agnes has ever talked in the history of ever, the weirdly morbid & fucking heartbreaking walk in the park, the choppy restaurant scene, to the unmentionable... end event. It went all over the place, which is very unlike TBL imo, which usually seems to stick to a theme or emotional center for an entire episode, whether blacklister or mythology driven. I think it was painfully clear how poor their planning was (when they have literally no excuse bc they knew this was coming the whole season???) & just how much shit they were trying to squeeze into one episode.
Secondly - & this may seem obvious, but I think it’s worth talking about anyway - Liz should have gotten her answers. And I’m not just saying this as a Lizzington shipper (I mean, mostly I am, but there are other reasons also!) Primarily, I think bc... literally everyone expected them. Not just bc they were advertised (it’s certainly not the first time they’ve delighted in false advertising in promos when it comes to the all-important AnSwErS) but bc THEY MADE SURE EVERYONE KNEW BEFOREHAND THAT IT WAS MEGAN’S LAST EP. It might have been mildly acceptable to play coy for yet another season finale IF she was coming back in some capacity later to eventually wrap things up, but - given that they fucking slammed the door on that possibility - THEY SHOULD HAVE GIVEN US ANSWERS. I don’t think anyone considered the possibility that they would KILL her & NOT give us answers bc it makes no fucking sense. Additionally, Liz should have gotten her answers simply bc SHE!! DESERVED!! THEM!! They’re literally the thing she’s been fighting for for eight seasons & she fucking died without them? WTF??? But, most importantly to us Lizzington shippers, Liz not getting her answers ruined the park fantasy. I think we all imagined (BC IT WAS MEGAN’S LAST EP) that Red & Liz would finally talk & Red would give her the answers she wanted. I think we all expected from the (misleading) promo that he would make some sense out of the potentially jumbled memories/visions (?) from 8.21 &, most importantly, there would be SOME KIND OF EMOTIONAL TURNING POINT, SOME CATHARSIS, AN UNDERSTANDING & RENEWED LOVE BETWEEN THEM DRIVEN BY THE AFOREMENTIONED REVELATIONS (& LOVE OF WHATEVER KIND, MIND YOU, WE WEREN’T PICKY, JUST SOMETHING FOUNDED ON RECONCILIATION & PEACE.) But - bc they denied us that - Liz was still in the dark & waiting on answers for the entire ep, unable to forgive or reconnect with her true feelings for Red (whatever you believe them to be) & this made her reaction to Red’s rEqUeSt ring very hollow & detached, the whole park bench conversation stilted & awkward (on Liz’s end) & - THE WORST PART - it made the whole park fantasy feel FALSE. It cheapened it. Like she was just indulging him, letting him walk with her & play with Agnes & enjoy one more day of life before she indifferently killed him. The one thing we expected to get, should have gotten, & THOUGHT WE WOULD HAVE NO MATTER WHAT ELSE HAPPENED IN THE FINALE was ruined. With the assisted suicide talk beforehand, the almost begrudging acceptance from Liz, the obvious morbid mindset from Red, the song in the background, the context of it all. It put an awful spin we completely didn’t expect on what should have been our beautiful Lizzington park fantasy. And I think that may be the part that hurts the most - the fact that I can only look at gifs of that scene - bc the music & dialogue & context completely undermine what Liz’s fantasy should have been, that she got for just one afternoon, when she was supposed to be happy & at peace with Red & Agnes.
Thirdly, (anyone still there? lolz) the whole “plot” of this episode was fucking nonsensical. Chiefly - & many other people have pointed this out before now - Red would never ask Liz to kill him. I simply call bullshit. No matter how hard they tried to justify it (& boyyyyy, did they try) Red has never wanted Liz to be a killer, criminal, or have to live a life like him. He has canonically said as much. I could maybe buy the whole “taking over his empire” thing as the seasons progressed, but asking Liz to live with the guilt (however slight or delayed) of killing him, after everything they’ve been through together, after she told him she loves him (seasons ago, but the feelings are still there, albeit buried deep)? And thereby launching her (& by extension Agnes) directly into harm’s way as the “new” Concierge of Crime (?), without him there to guide her from the shadows? No way. Bullshit. Also - & @iwouldlovetoeatyourtoast mentioned this first, I believe - the whole idea of it was stupid anyway bc Liz has spent the entire season chasing him, has repeatedly gotten opportunities to take the big shot, & has always been unable to kill him. It wasn’t even an engaging tWiSt to throw in at the very end bc - even when she agreed to do it - we all knew it wouldn’t happen, also bc Megan was the one leaving & not James. So, it wasn’t a surprise when she broke down at the end & said she couldn’t, so wtf was the point?
Fourthly (almost to the end, god this feels good) & this was a huge tell imo - everyone was OOC. Now you might say that’s the bitterness talking & you might be right... but you fucking try & tell me that 1) Red all of a sudden decides he’s ready for death after how long of not accepting it or mentioning it & absolutely must be killed by Liz & no one else within the next 24-48 hours 2) Liz would willingly go along with that for even a second 3) Dembe wouldn’t try his damnedest to talk Red out of assisted suicide in general & especially coercing Liz into doing it 4) Ressler would be the one to fucking figure it out & hightail it out of bed AFTER BEING ON DEATH’S DOOR WITH A BUSTED LUNG & SEPSIS FFS 5) Wolf Man Van Dyke would even know where to find Liz on a random fucking street corner outside a random fucking restaurant 6) Red wouldn’t see him behind Liz taking aim 7) THERE WOULDN’T BE A DECLARATION OF FEELINGS/LOVE CONFESSION BETWEEN RED & LIZ IN THE 14 MILLION OBVIOUS PLACES THERE COULD HAVE BEEN *PRIMARILY AFTER SHE SAYS “I CAN’T DO IT, I DON’T WANT TO” I MEAN, HELLO????? WTF, WHY WASN’T THERE AN “BC I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU TOO, LIZZIE” LIKE HOW HARD WOULD THAT HAVE BEEN, IT WAS THE PERFECT PLACE, THE LAST CHANCE, & WE FUCKING DESERVED ITTTTTTTTTTT *ahem* & lastly, & most importantly, & I’m definitely going to cry typing this... 8) if you fucking try to tell me that Red would allow himself to be pulled away from Lizzie’s dead body for a second time by Dembe or anyone else (especially when it was only the stupid task force arriving???) without simply crossing the street to load his gun with trembling fingers, pull the trigger, & join her... you’re fucking crazy.
In conclusion, bc this has gone on long enough, this was just... a hasty, sloppy, rushed, unprepared, careless ending on all fronts, no matter how hard they tried to convince us it was totally-100%-on-purpose-of-course-why-do-you-ask? (And I’m not even touching on the Redarina bait bc fuck that shit.) Like, did anyone else feel like when Red was telling Dembe that he was sure & this was what he wanted & really he’s positive so please stop asking, and when he was explaining things to Liz in almost too much detail, and when he was telling Harold this was absolutely necessary... that it was really the writers trying to convince us? It just felt so sudden & forced & heavy-handed & absurdly preventable & at the same time ridiculously unstoppable... I mean, look, whatever drama clearly went on behind the scenes? I think we can all agree that they did a terrible, awful, shit-tastic job on all fronts. And it’s just such a shame that that’s how it ended 💔

there's a theory Red is actually Lizzie's mom post a sex change THOUGHTS?
the entire Redarina theory is a shit feast of transphobia and it’s honestly the worst thing this fandom has ever come up with
Look, I don’t give a rat’s ass if someone wants to headcanon Red as a trans man. Be my guest. But that theory goes along the lines of “Redarina is a person who pretends to be a man and even after disguising as a man for 30 years she’s actually still a woman”. That’s transphobic. On so many levels.
Know what’s also transphobic? Using a person’s trans-ness as a big shocking plot twist - and that’s what Redarina theorists are aiming for. They aren’t people who just wanna have a headcanon that Red is a trans man (which wouldn’t be an issue). They want Red to be a woman in disguise and they pack that up in some cissexist idea of what transgender means.
All they want is to clutch at straws to somehow prove Red is related to Liz because they cannot accept defeat. And with “defeat” I don’t even mean that they should have all turned into Lizzington shippers. It’s fine if they don’t ship it. But I mean they should just accept that it’s been established canon that Red is not Liz’s biological parent and no amount of their thinly veiled transphobic bullshit will ever change that. If they want to see it as a familial relationship then they can just stick with a surrogate-father/father figure interpretation.
I get the feeling they are clinging so hard to the biological aspect because they know there’s not much else to go on, given that Red isn’t actually acting like a father figure at all. Unless they go by the George Michael take on "father figure”.

I really can not be silent on this point any longer, as my tumblr lets me lots of anti-redarina posts by the tag "raymond reddington" or simply "the blacklist" and I read them - well, I have eyes, and I read them, and the main motive of them all is that Red being trans is an insult to all trans people, trans actors (really, come on, in Shakespearian theatre all roles were played by males, women did not act, and no one at the time thought that an insult to women - on the contrary, male actors were not very respected at the time), and to the story ("shitty writing" is what I read, and no surprise that mostly by Lizzington shippers, obviously not happy with all the ff, and now atributing Magen leaving to the writers not making Lizzington canon, as Megan herself "obviously wanted" - sorry, not gonna comment this opinion, I will just let it be).
Well, putting aside the "trans story is a n insult to..." discussion aside, let us focus on the fact that Redarina in NOT A TRANS STORY AT ALL!!!
Katarina was not trans, she was bisexual female, whose sexuality per se was used by her Father; everything she was was used by her Father to make her a super spy, that what she never wanted to be, but became. Still she did not consent with what her Father did to her. She gave birth to Masha among the crumbling world she belonged to and her life being constantly in danger. She kept walking on thin ice, balancing without aid in the open air, fighting to stay alive, to stay free, to have her Daughter at her side.
She only had a few people on her side. And she waw afraid that her being alive spelled death to her child. And here it all climaxed in Raymond Reddington dying by his own Daughter's little hand.
RED ADMITTED MANY TIMES HE GOT KRILOV TO ALTER MASHA'S MEMORY. KATARINA SAID IN NACHALO THAT IT WAS HER!
I am ready to listen to your objections - explain this one moment without a stretch of logic but without Redarina, please. But let me tell you at the outset - you shall fail! There is but one explanation, period!
So, again, Katarina was not trans, she made love to men, and she became a Mother, and that was how she saw herself, as a woman. BUT as a woman, as Katarina, she had zero chance to survive and to protect Masha.
Apart from a select few no one knew Reddington was dead, AND NO ONE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN. Then and only then could Katarina become the new Red, a traitor to his country, a weak cheaty man, who abandoned his wife and daughter and began his criminal path by selling docs, he allegiadly stole from his country. That is, the US. But Red always spoke of US as of "your country" - because Red is not American, as Katarina was Russian, even becoming Red, she still remained Russian!
So, her main points in becoming Reddington, version 2.0, are:
1. Katarina was female, Red is male. By looking for Katarina, would her enemies look for a man?
2. Real Reddington died - no one to impede Katarina becoming him, or exposing her just because all her enemies thought Reddington lived.
3. A male criminal of worldwide repute is much more formidable a force, then a female. The criminal world is still predominantly male. Even in the 21st century.
4. Her life put her Daughter's life at risk. So she disguized herself as an expert spy would - by becoming someone else, who already existed and was known for who he was and what he did, not a completely new personality, which would not serve Katarina's perpose - dissapear in plain sight! And make sure every one of her enemies believed SHE WAS DEAD, NOT REDDINGTON!
5. But the very main reason was protecting Masha. Having a chance to be there for her when the time and opportunity came, to protect her, to love her, to care for her, to have her love as her guardian, if not as her Mother. "My criminal Empire serves two perposes, to keep me free and you safe". Masha's Father is dead, long dead, and only the other Parent would come so far in protecting Masha, in serving her best interests, in loving her more then life, her own as Katarina and as Red, no other connection, less intimate, would explain it all.
This story of the Blacklist is a spy story about the greatest Love of all - Parental, unconditional, sacrificial, when one person would give up life, heart, self just to see their child alive, happy, and safe! Katarina did everything she could, both as herself and as Red, who became her, and she became him, to accomplish just that...but Red is not God, he couldn't forsee treason, and Van Dyke, who craved to accomplish Townsand's life ambition... Red was ready to die at her Daughter's hand just to make her stronger, to give her a way to survive - which eventually would have let her live, love, if she chose, and bring up her own Daughter...
This is the greatest Love of all and the greatest story!
Yours trully, Trish-the pro-Redarina pro-TBL canon story pro-trans rights-Vaylar.

Do YOU realize that there is literally no canon confirmation that Red IS Katarina but there are lots of evidences/proofs that he IS NOT Katarina?
Look, as much as I HATE to admit it, all signs point to Redarina being Jon Bokencamp's ending. The ONLY hope we have is that since JB is gone the execs try to retcon it.
They made a pretty good effort "tying" up most of the loose ends (albeit weakly for most of them). The things that were never explained was Red's "family" from Madeline Pratt and the ballet. I *guess* you could say that Katarina could have ballet girl since that was her cover, but that makes zero sense. But the story about Red's family and the farmer story just have too much emotion to be fake. This is why I'm still holding out hope for Team SeaDuke.
Sadly, majority of the other signs point to Redarina, including JB himself who said we would get answers and unfortunately the fact that Red never lies to Liz. He told Liz that he was the one who took her memory the night of the fire. Katarina said the same thing. Therefore, unless the ONE *truth* we had to hold onto about the show has been a lie from the beginning, we can assume that Red is Katarina.
So, please, don't come into MY inbox attacking me just because I've accepted that what was shown on screen is true because I stg if they played us all again with this *reveal* I will lose my fucking mind.
You don't know my theories. You don't know how many times I've debated both ways, mostly opposed to Redarina because I AM ANTI-REDARINA. I don't mind healthy debate, but don't think you know the answers because NOBODY really does. I'm just trusting JB when he said we would get a reveal this season and unfortunately that reveal was Redarina, at least as much of a reveal as we're ever going to get. That was it. That was the big secret. The past 8 years have been pointless. Don't be mad at me, go @ the writers.

My anti-Redarina take on the 'Katarina with newborn Masha' vision which is apparently Red's memory: he was colleagues and, perhaps, even friends with Masha's real father, which is how he knew Katarina (because Masha's real father introduced them... I mean, Katarina was supposed to seduce Masha's real father and use him, so he probably didn't know who she was until much later in their relationship). And when Masha was born, Red went to see his friend's newborn daughter, which wouldn't be surprising at all. That's where that memory came from. And it's only logical that during Liz's last moments, as she died in his arms, Red remembered the very first time he ever saw her aka when he went to see his friend's newborn baby.
Commenting on the mix of Liz's memories about Red and Katarina doesn't seem necessary to me because, come on, she was dying, she could've seen anything!
Dear Anon, oh boy I didn't even know that the scene you described was supposed to be Red's memories lol. I confess I was crying pretty hard through that whole scene so I maybe missed that, all I remember was as soon as she saw Agnes I started bawling and then she saw a bunch of our fave Lizzington moments
...
It's honestly v v hard for me to actually visualize that precise part of the episode still 😬.
Your take is beautiful! I'm sure it must be something like that. My other option being that Red was once Ivan (and the current Ivan we saw was actually Katerina), and therefore it would have been normal if he saw Lizzie when she was born, too, having been part of Katerina's life for so long.
Either way, I definitely agree that there's other explanations for what we and Lizzie saw. And that's a small comfort at least. Thanks for writing 💛

Bigotry/ignorance in the fandom?
I'm really starting to question some of the people in this fandom. I wanna start this off by saying I know the redarina theory probably isn't true because it's really not ultimately about that. I'm talking about some people's reasonings for why they are anti redarina or some people's reasons for why they think Red isn't Katarina.
1. Transphobia: (I already mentioned this before in a past post)
People saying they wouldn't watch the show anymore if it turned out that Red was "trans" (I'm putting it in quotes because if Red was Katarina it probably wouldn't be because he was trans but because Katarina wanted to hide her identity)
(This part is more about being ignorant than being transphobic) Saying that Red isn't Katarina cuz it was made clear that he has male genitalia when there is surgery to get male genitalia many trans men have gotten said surgery and it would just make more sense that Katarina would get every surgery if she was changing into Reddington/a male to hide her identity.
People saying that Red wouldn't be as much of a man to them anymore if it turned out he used to be a woman. (I really hope no trans fans saw those comments for their sake)
2. Stereotyping:
Saying theres no way he used to be a woman because of his masculine mannerisms.
3. Homophobia/biphobia (I also just mentioned this in my recent post):
Saying that he couldn't be Katarina because of him being flirty with/having relationships with women.
I think some people are just so against this redarina theory that they're letting their true colors come out and it's really gross and just overall disappointing. Is the theory far fetched? Yes, but are you really so against it that you have to say the most idiotic things to try to prove your point?

Openly slamming Antis.
“Reading the comments I find it funny that Redarina theorists are accused of being condescending and rude, LOL" What people tend to think when given in-show clues they don't want to accept. And they usually hit Rederina posts for the sake of slamming Rederina theorists. They'll tell you no one knows how the show is gonna end, then turn around and say with certainty it won't end with Rederina, as if they know how the show is gonna end.

Oh, by the way!
The fact that Agnes takes after her father not only in behavior but also in looks is also a low-key evidence that Imposter Theory or – a word/theory I abhor vehemently for a number of reasons – Redarina are not viable.
Because the last time I checked, plastic surgery doesn't alter genes, so the changes made can't be passed on to children)
My friend!! 🤩 Ugh YES. (Just an FYI: I'm pretty sure the Imposter Theory - which is our Red not being the real Raymond Reddington - is different from R*darina - the Biggest Retcon of our Time - but that's okay, I know what you meant!!) You're so right that how our Red looks could not be passed on to Agnes if it was merely the result of plastic surgery she would look like K*tarina instead, which is a whole new level of fucking mind-boggling disgusting which - if you believe in Agnesgate - is pretty solid proof against R*darina!! 😏 Anyway, thanks for the additional ask, my friend, & much love to you!! ❤️
