The Nightshade Sisters Go To Chicago 2
Plot: Gwendolyn's aunts have finally arrived in Chicago to visit their beloved niece, and decided to help around the bakery (after a misunderstanding upon their arrival in Part 1).
The Nightshade sisters are at it again! feat. a certain pirate 👀
Part 2/?
The bakery was as busy as usual, with Gwendolyn’s regular number of customers coming to and fro, placing their orders and happily leaving with their tasty treats, while others remained seated in the bakery, savoring her pastries with much gusto.
Gwendolyn remained behind the counter ringing up customers, while her aunts all took turns taking orders from customers that remained in the bakery. Odessa did fairly well, as she was very attentive and made sure everyone’s orders were taken accordingly. Meanwhile Seraphina complained all throughout her task, even going as far as questioning some customers’ orders, and as for Adissa, she rarely took any orders at all, as she was too busy playing with Gumdrop, or sometimes getting distracted by the bakery’s lovely decor.
In the end, Gwendolyn suggested that both Seraphina and Adissa could help each other in the kitchen, to make sure all of the magical utensils were doing their job in baking more treats properly. Seraphina wasn’t too keen about it, but Adissa happily obliged, even though she didn’t appear to have registered what her niece said.
“My goodness they’re getting everything dirty!” cried Seraphina as they arrived in the kitchen, witnessing the floury mess all of the baking utensils were doing.
“They’re having fun!” laughed Adissa, as she happily danced along to a cake mixer hopping about while mixing its batter.
“Gwendolyn needs to brush up on her spells,” Seraphina complained. “Otherwise, they’ll bring her whole bakery to the ground!”
As the sisters began to put things in order, they heard a noise coming from the back door, and exchanged worried looks before checking to see what it was. A tall man stood outside, holding something in his hand, which the sisters immediately recognized as a common Saventhian flower. He looked a bit disheveled, as though he had just returned from a long trip, and a strong smell of sea salt lingered around him.
He was surprised to be greeted by the sisters, but still acknowledged them in a very polite manner, which greatly contrasted his appearance.
“What are you doing here?!” asked Seraphina. “Go on, state your business!”
The man laughed. “I brought a gift for Gwendolyn - I was going to give it to her personally, but since the bakery’s very busy today, I thought I’d leave it here instead.”
“It’s very beautiful.” remarked Adissa, but Seraphina scolded her.
“I don’t trust you one bit!” she cried, returning her attention to him. “Either you get out of here, or I’ll kick you out myself!”
Just then Gwendolyn appeared, announcing that they were running out of brownies, when she saw the commotion before her, and as she caught the man’s eyes, her face began to turn red.
“Anonai,” she whispered, to which he bowed politely. “Wh-What brings you here?”
He smiled. “Just wanted to wish you a happy birthday.”
“Lies!” cried Seraphina. “He is a thief, he was going to break into the bakery and steal everything – I know a thief when I see one!”
“He has a pretty flower for you,” sang Adissa. “Just like the ones in Saventhia!”
Gwendolyn stammered, unsure of what to say as her face became more red by the second, all while Anonai chuckled to himself, very amused with what was happening.
“I think I left quite an impression on these lovely ladies.” he laughed, and Adissa giggled at his compliment.
“Don’t mind them, Anonai,” said Gwendolyn as she walked over to him. “My aunts mean no harm, they’re just protective of me, that’s all.”
“I see,” he said. “You are very lucky to have them.”
Gwendolyn smiled. “I am.”
“Well,” he continued, and handed her the flower. “I really just wanted to give you this - thought you might like it.”
“I do,” she said, carefully admiring it. “It’s very beautiful, thank you.”
Anonai smiled, and with that he bid her and her aunts farewell, and left the bakery. Gwendolyn still stared at her flower, slowly brushing its petals with much care, as she made her way back to the front of the bakery.
“I still don’t trust him,” remarked Seraphina, following her niece. “Be very careful of him, Gwen dear!”
“I like him,” Adissa sighed. “He’s very nice, and handsome too.”
“You think everyone’s nice.” Seraphina grumbled to her sister.
But Gwendolyn’s mind was elsewhere, as she searched for a small vase for her flower.

Crushes
Plot: Gwendolyn is watching captainanon’s twitch stream, and the topic of crushes is brought up - feat. Bates (College AU)
Gwendolyn’s phone buzzed with a notification that captainanon (or Anon, as she liked to call him)’s twitch stream is going live, and she immediately opens a new tab on her browser--ignoring the previous one with her essay on it.
She always liked watching his streams, even though she wasn’t really into video games, she liked hearing his commentary which were often very funny and entertaining, and it served as a nice background noise to fill her lonely days at campus.
As she got on, she saw the number of views immediately sky rocket, and the chat being filled with emotes and random comments, ranging from genuine compliments, to thirst comments and a few hateful ones. Gwendolyn left a kind greeting on his chat, to which he immediately responded on his stream, addressing her by her handle (sweet_delights) with a tone of genuine happiness in his voice, which made her feel happier than she should have.
He was playing Halo with another twitch streamer, his friend hellhound 666--who he often called him as Bates--and right off the bat Gwendolyn was laughing at Anon's jokes, and the stream went on like this for thirty minutes or so, with the topic changing from the actual game they were playing, to things about their personal life and goals, and finally to their love life.
“I’m single as fuck.” Bates blurted.
“That makes two of us!” Anon laughed, then proceeded to read a question one commenter asked.
“Do you have a crush, though?” he read, and there was a long pause.
“I’ll take that as a yes.” his friend laughed, as Anon still hadn’t answered the question.
“No, no, it’s--well, it’s not--I mean,” Anon stammered, as he was trying to defend himself.
Gwendolyn raised an eyebrow, surprised at his reaction. He was usually cool and collected, and always had a snarky remark ready on the tip of his tongue, even when they would chat with each other privately--which has happened quite often recently--he never showed any sign of being timid or embarrassed. But now he was very much the opposite of his usual persona.
“I mean,” he continued. “Well....yeah, kinda. I do.”
“Does she know?” asked Bates.
“Nah,” Anon replied. “at least I don’t think so, but she probably wouldn’t be into me anyway…”
“Rip.” said Bates, as he shot his target in the game.
Gwendolyn froze, staring at the screen as hundreds of comments flooded his chat box, ranging from shocked emoji faces to raging outbursts from his fans. She wondered who it could be, but then wondered why was she worrying about it in the first place? It wasn't any of her business to know, or care that Anon had grown feelings for someone. She was glad for him, and hoped that whoever caught his heart takes notice of him, and appreciates him for who he is.
