Ok, so I know there's the idea that all the Vashes from the different iterations of Triguns are BFFs while the Kniveses are at each other's throats, but hear me out.

Vash, with his incredible self-loathing and plethora of fake smiles, will initially despise his alternate versions mostly because they force him to deal with people who truly see him and he doesn't really want to be seen. However, over time, his innate love for others kicks in, and through that he learns not only to love the other Vashes, but also himself.

Meanwhile, the Kniveses (my phone HATES that spelling) are initially THRILLED to meet such like-minded individuals. These other versions of himself actually get why humanity needs to die and why they have to torture-save Vash. They ally under the name Knives Network Interested in Vash's Eminent Salvation (K.N.I.V.E.S. for short), but over time, they start turning on each other.

First, Stampede Knives and Maximum Knives turn on '98 Knives, seeing his lack of strength as something in between fatal human useless and a lack of resolve. Then Stampede Knives and Maximum Knives turn on each other. It's close, but Stampede Knives wins on account of not needing to sleep.

But he's in trouble now because not only did he burn a bunch of energy against Maximum Knives, but now he's up against all three Vashes.

All those years watching anime really did leave an impact on Michael B. Jordan. Because the plot of Creed III being “righteous protagonist must fight their best friend who turned to the dark side due to jealousy/ego/wanting to prove that they’re better than the protagonist” is straight up a shonen anime storyline.
