Some witches (or people in general for that matter) have an animal who shows up time and time again throughout their practice and life. A recurring motif if you will. Some people like to call these spirit animals, but there's uhhhh a few pretty big problems with that but you get the idea. They are always something really badass or beautiful like wolves, butterflies, ravens, etc.

Well mine....are fucking chickens. I even had one crow during my very own initiation. One of the most sacred of magical moments and in the middle of absolute nowhere this chad of a rooster just goes OFF. Like....I appreciate the support and companionship but.....c'mon! 

Someone should really make a little doodle or comic series about a witch showing up to a school where everyone has these amazing, diverse, respectable familiars and they have ....a chicken.

Name: Robin Speck Character base: garden/animal witch Year: 2nd year Age: 14 Gender: nonbinary (he/him) Sexuality: bisexual Height: 5ft 5 Eye colour: green Hair colour: black and red mix Likes: sneaking food to the critters in the forest, rescuing orphan fox kits, building little villages out of sticks (he uses animal safe glue if it’s for the animals), being reminded that it’s okay to not practice outside of classes if he doesn’t feel up to it, handing out his handmade fox guides Dislikes: feeling too tired to even walk down to the gardens, running out of lint rollers, being reminded of the microwave egg incident, when the kits chew up his socks, feeling guilty for not having as many plants as the others Homeland: Rosewood Village Hobby: promoting for and raising foxes Talents: he has a very natural connection with animals, and all his kits listen to him and adore him (they usually have to be carried around with him or they’ll cry by the dorm doors) Magic path: earth elemental magic & animal communication

he currently has four fox kits and two adult foxes: two red fox kits named Carrot and Radish, one grey fox kit named Dust, one marble fox kit named Coffee, one adult silver fox named Midnight, and one adult silver marble fox named Granite (the majority of his room is dedicated to them)

the other students are always giving him positive words to make him feel better about, in his words, 'not being a true garden witch' (they gift him fake plants too, cause they know he stresses over real ones despite loving them)

he once tried microwaving eggs for his kits, and soon found out that it doesn't end well; everyone now references it if he's in the dorm kitchen

he struggles sometimes with putting too much pressure on himself, so once a week he writes a letter to Kaitlin for her to read and write back her advice (he feels too awkward talking about it face to face)
