ya hold on i'll try to remember all the astrology stuff i learned years back - so, your Sun Sign is synonymous with Zodiac Sign, and it allegedly influences your like, core personality - basically, according to astrology all ppl with the same Sun Signs share the same "core" character traits.

your Moon Sign describes how you deal with feelings and internal stuff? as in, Sun Sign is what you display outside and Moon Sign is what goes on inside, i suppose.

and i've learned that your Rising Sign is the way people (first) perceive you - i'm a scorpio rising so that means that ppl should kinda get a "mysterious & moody" vibe from me when they meet me.

the way these are determined is by looking where the sun & moon are at the time & location of your birth + which sign is just rising on the horizon.

so what you do is google common traits of the signs in your sun & moon & rising and that gives you an overview of who you are - alternatively you can also just google smth like "leo moon meaning" and it'll give you more information, if you're interested in that.

but yeah, this is kinda just Advanced Astrology and not proven to be facts, so don't take it too seriously.

Hey anon! First, I’m sorry for the late reply T^T OKAY, I saw the post around here too, and if this method works for them, kudos to them ;)

Short answer: the statement that “traditionally whole signs MUST be read with the sidereal system” is mistaken.

True, the post points out that Modern is heavily associated with Tropical because Tropical is the most popular system in the West. But like they said, Tropical has been around since 5 B.C. It’s not based off the constellations; it’s based off the solstices and equinoxes in the Northern Hemisphere. The Whole Signs house system itself is the oldest house system, so it has been used for centuries with Tropical before the Placidus system arrived in the 1600s. Like how Firmicus is a traditional astrologer from 4 A.D. who utilized Tropical Zodiac and most likely the Whole Signs system according to this.

Regarding the point that Sidereal and Whole Signs house system go hand-in-hand; honestly, it just depends on the astrologer. True, I have seen Sidereal astrologers recommend Whole Signs house system over Placidus system for Sidereal. But I’ve also seen the Equal house system used amongst Sidereal astrologers. And there are Sidereal astrologers who believe it’s best to use the Campanus House system because of its practicality in consideration of the software that the astrologer employed for Sidereal charts.

For the predictive techniques, true, the natal chart does talk about your whole life and its external circumstances, but people can use it to figure out themselves, despite the fact this isn’t the only thing the natal chart can show them.

Okay, in simplistic terms, the 5th house talks about passion, crushes, children, entertainment, friends that you have fun with, etc. and people can read about what occurs in this area of your life, what kind of friends will show up (11th talks about that too but of more serious (?) friendships), how many children you’ll have, etc. But the 5th house can also talk about your attitude towards the house’s subjects, how you approach love (but also gotta check Venus, Moon, 7th house, rulers, etc. for this matter), how you feel about children, how you approach fun, etc. if you put that all together you can read both circumstances, for example:

Someone can read if a person adores children (internal circumstances) but won’t have any children in this lifetime (external circumstances).

In the end, it depends on the astrologer and what works for them. Personally, I stick with Tropical, traditional astrology, and Whole Signs because it’s something that make sense and works for me. If you’re still reading anon, I’d say accuracy depends on what the reader is looking for and if the reader is able to understand what they’re looking at.
