The upgrade to Android 12 reset all the app permissions to "Deny" regardless if I had enabled permissions prior to the update. Fine, I guess.
What's not fine is there was no notice of the changes and no pop up when I'm using an app that required certain permissions to function. Instead, the affected apps just kept silently failing until I went to purge the cache as a troubleshooting step and saw that no permissions were granted to an app that requires Files & Media access to function (offline RSS reader).
A check of all my other apps revealed that each and every one had permissions nuked. Some complained, some didn't.
While this annoys me, it actually doesn't annoy me as much as how hideous the stock clock app's analog face is now, and I'm ready to pay money to replace it.
