man five years waiting for a letdown the finale is so underwhelming? Disappointing? I just feel empty. Like Scott pilgrim takes off also had 8 episodes but they somehow accomplished so much more in 8 episodes and the final fight was built up properly. Hazbin was just 8 episodes of nothing it just feels like their rushing to get to the songs and broadway talent which they’re nice but after awhile they feel interchangeable and comes out one ear and goes out the other. Idk if give it 6/10. Charlie is by far my least favorite character she’s doesn’t do anything and is babied all the time.
Vaggie is disappointing because she has a lot going for her but her reveal was so rushed and added nothing to her character. I feel like in the hands of a capable writer Vaggie and Charlie relationship could’ve been interesting if the delved into toxic co-dependency since they are way to dependent on eachother but it’s framed as health and cute Alastor is kinda lame but also interesting or at least the deal he’s trapped in and wants to be free from (hmm almost like him and another character that’s trapped in a shitty deal that also wants his freedom have a lot more in common)
Keith David carries Husk because husk is just there? Like he doesn’t add anything except being ship fodder
Angel is ok I guess like I just feel sorry that he’s someone’s rape fetish. He’s just a nice guy that likes sex jokes
Nifty is adorable but I was seething that she was the one to kill Adam this is almost as bad as GoT when Arya killed the night king. Just two separate characters they never crossed path or were part of each other storylines. I don’t care about sir pentious I still don’t but now knowing was just created to make fun of DC is poetic af since now he’s the most loved character in fandom
Adam was the worst villain like he wasn’t even a love to hate type villain he was pathetic
I honestly don’t even know why Cherri was in the finale when she just showed up one episode tried to get Angel to do drug and got pissy when he didn’t want too and ignored sir pentious but he has two dicks so now she’s all game. I hate her voice so much, just hire an Australian actor or better yet don’t recast Krystal because Krystal was great but too bad for her she wasn’t a Broadway actor, shoot better luck next time Krystal
I hope Krystal keeps finding better and better projects. She's too good for this show, and for Viv.

I once saw a bsg fan bemoan the lack of a bsg fandom on Tumblr but I can tell you why that fandom is dead in the water.
it's because Battlestar Galactica utterly failed at creating a world you'd want to return to.
look at deep space nine, a 25 year old TV show that still has a wildly active fandom here and even on Twitter.
and why is that?
because ds9 was edgy too, but underneath that, there was a world that you could miss. there were characters who grew and changed like real people. they felt like your family, they were each other's family, and who doesn't visit their found family/friends at least occasionally?
re watching ds9 is like seeing old friends you haven't spoken to in a while, but when you hang out, it's like no time has passed. it's like returning to the house you grew up in, and smiling as you see the old photographs and the lines where your parents scratched your height into the wall.
but bsg? christ.
it's like returning to an abandoned meth lab.
it spent literally its entire run trying to SHOCK you.
instead of world building or creating any form of culture aboard the fleet, it upped the ante every week, and never gave you time to breathe.
worse than that, it would zoom through some of its more interesting ideas in favor of trying to get your blood pumping with some new shit immediately.
it never let you dwell on characters, or let them have genuine growth, because the next week, they'd want to do something even CRAZIER, and then that character would have to act a certain way, to make sure the melodrama keeps people engaged.
shows like that never last, because when you re watch them, there's like... nothing.
the world was destroyed- ok, then why don't we see the culture of the surviving humans?
everyone lives on different ships!! you could've shown us those ships developing their own cultures???
but no, we're stuck on the warship, full of officers, except we don't even get episodes dedicated to just, daily life on Battlestar.
it's just, oh baltar gets away with yet another war crime. how interesting.
it's also not remembered that well because...
mass murder and gang rape and endless torture of all the characters- oh it's so exciting... that you don't really want to go back to the stress.
you get tired of it, man. you can't throw high octane plots at people every day for five years... and then expect them to even remember half of that shit when they return to it, years later.
why would you even want to?
it's not like any of it was planned either.
it's not like, a show where it's exciting all the time, yes, but it's worth re watching to pick up on all the hints of the later story.
those kinds of shows last. you know. where the creators knew the ending and the hints were always there and you love the melodrama because you know where it's going, and it's still interesting to consider, years later. to really chew on deep and insightful characters, and think about their entire stories.
but bsg?
nothing was fucking planned.
you re watch bsg and you see just how much of it NEVER PAYS OFF.
they ram so many plots down your throat, and 90% of them get retconned out or totally re written.
And that's also why people don't remember bsg that well.
So much shit happens that they just don't know what the hell happened.
the pacing is awful, the world building is non existent, it's a melodrama so dedicated to melodrama that it totally ignores what it was doing with the characters the week before...
and that's why it's dead in the water.
the characters were the best part about it and they get so butchered by the end, they hardly matter.

Saving Grace
DoL Whitney x Reader
Word Count:766
Warnings: PTSD like flashback/episode, allusions to rape/assault, the usual DoL stuff
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I laid awake smoking and watching him sleep, he looked so peaceful and cute like this. A side of him I only get to see when we're alone. I looked around the room, much cleaner than last time I was over. I made a mental note to tease him about it another time.
I reached over to the ashtray on the bedside table and ashed the cigarette I stole from Whitney. As I did he shifted and gripped my hip tighter to keep me from moving. I smiled down at his sleeping form. Face scrunched up, hair a mess, and only wearing sweatpants he looked perfect in my eyes.
I don't know how I ended up here, but I'm glad I did. In a way he's been my saving grace, my sanity. I continue on for him. Without him I don't know where I'd be, maybe the underground brothel or farm. I still get nightmares about my time in both of them.
I don't think he knows about all of it. What I have to do and what I've done. It's for the best he doesn't, I don't want to think of what'd he do. I leaned over again and put out the butt of my cigarette in the ashtray.
I leaned back into the pillow as he shifted again, this time sitting up. "Dreams again?" He asked groggily while rubbing sleep from his eyes. I gave him a silent nod in reply to which he replied with a hum.
He reached out and manhandled me into a position he liked then laid down face first into my chest causing me to laugh. He playfully slapped my thigh and pulled the blanket over our bodies. Once comfortable enough he grabbed hold of my right breast and used the other as a pillow, "They can't hurt you here." He said quietly into my chest, making me smile sadly. The dreams are never ending just like the encounters. It makes me want to hide away with him, but I have to face the world and this shitty town with its shitty people.
I ran my hand through his hair making him hum in satisfaction. I continued to pet his hair till his breathing evened out and was asleep. I stayed up longer to admire him more, but eventually I too succumbed to sleep. The dreams aren't as bad when I'm with him.
I dreamt of a dark room and shady people. Pink humming lights and crowds cheering. The full picture always left me when I woke, but I always remember the feeling it gave me. I opened my eyes and quietly looked around fearing the worst but only finding Whitney's plushies. His bathroom door was cracked and the shower was running.
I sat up slowly to get my bearings. I was safe, I was ok. Nothing can hurt me here. But I can't stay…and there's always one right around the corner, watching and waiting. More will follow. I grabbed Iggy the whale, his favorite plushie, and held it tight as memories started to flood in and refused to leave. I could feel them all around me, grabbing and groping. The words they spat and the horrible things they called me. And god the smell. Everything was beginning to spiral around me when I was suddenly pulled out.
I peeked open my eyes and looked up to find a pair of worried blue eyes…Whitney. He looked distressed and frantic. “There you are slut.” He said with a sad chuckle, trying to keep it together, and loosened his grip to let me sit up. I didn’t move, just continued to stare. Waiting for something to happen, but nothing did. “It's just you and me Y/n.” He tried to reason with me. I could hear the earnestness in his voice and looked around to see no one but us.
I took a deep breath and realized how close to tears I was. I sniffled and wiped at my eyes to keep the tears from falling. I sat up on my knees and looked at Whitney. He still looked distressed, but he was hiding it the best he could. “I’m sorry….” I trailed off not really knowing what to say. I just had an episode, a flashback I guess you could call it. They always felt so real.
For the first time since coming to I realized he was only wearing a towel and was still wet from his shower. “Don’t fucking apologize.” He said with his voice breaking at the end. He pulled me close and didn’t let me go.

Dude, thank you so much for these reblogs and hearts; I did not expected to have such a nice surprise. If I can ask- what is bothering you the most in Helluva/Hazbin (f. ex. writting, worldbuilding, characters) and what do you actually like about it (if there is anything)?
You're welcome
What's bother me about helluva boss?
Bothering me about the show
1. The main thing that bothering me about helluva boss is the portrayal of abuser that's obviously stella and i really appreciated you make that post regarding stella as an abuser. Some abuser like paimon and stella are really feel like villain cartoon instead of actual abuser you know i found ironic the fandom actually can give much more accurate depiction stella and paimon. When that job supposed to be on the writer not the fandom. I'm gonna said this disney character who's abuser like judge frollo, mother gothel, lady tremaine, odalia blight even though disney is famous for their villain who's over the top their villain who's abuser come far more accurate than stella. Crimson he's actually quite accurate but he lack the motivation, the screentime showing us how before he become abusive, less making him the reason he's abuse moxxie just because he hated him(i remember reading one of the post with the tag helluva boss critical vivziepop portrayal of abuser is just black and white if i remember correctly).
2. The other thing that bother me is inconsistent from world building, character, story, lore.
3. The character who are supposed to be horrible person are not being acknowledge as horrible person, to simplify it blitzo and stolas are gary sue both are never being punished including loona she's also a mary sue well more precisely jerk sue.
4. Some heavy topic or social commentary in this show are being handle poorly
5. The character design are just terrible
6. Helluva boss is pro rich show
7. Portrayal of demon just not that great like they can make the demon more neutral or something like ok we have evil demon then we have another demon who's more neutral
8. The normalizing of SA, fatphobia, rape, toxic and parasocial relationship, abusive relationship, infedility
9. Infact this show demonize people who have valid anger like octavia and stella toward stolas, barbie wire and verosika toward blitzo
10. The lack of development and depth on female character
11. The creator immaturity
12. Too much villain but don't even bother to developing the villain and making them interesting. Striker he's threatening but then become a joke
13. Colorism the character with darker skintone often potrayed in a very bad light. Verosika crew who's incubus most of them are brown and darker skintone as prosmicuous and abuser. Barbie wire human disguises who's darker skintone is a groomer
14. Ableism the r word and moxxie character that is shown to have autistic trait but of course stolas gonna be mention first instead of moxxie since their favorite uwu sad boi come first. Moxxie actually did show sign of autistic behavior but i only see a few people mention it. Blitzo ableist behavior is not being hold accountable
15. Antisemitism the greedy jewish people in the first episode of helluva boss
The thing i liked on this show
1. The voice acting
2. The animation
3. The fighting scene is great
4. Angst teen trope being done right
That's all i can think about what i liked on helluva boss

@silvanshadow and @galladrabbles thanks for another great week💕
Ok first off. Love the song. So the prompt from snow patrol, crack in the shutters . Thank you for the in on a Drabble I have been thinking about for a while.
I always believed the real reason Ian left Mickey at the border was deep down he believed either him sourcing meds or having an episode down there would get Mickey caught . He needed Mickey free and saw himself a liability because at that point he was still a young guy trying to manage his disease with a shitty free clinic.
Crack in the Shutters
" Ian, it's time"
Ian rolled over, smiling at the light in the crack of the shutter.
" SHIM are you sure I can do this?"
" Darling you left Mickey to keep him safe. Your job is to stop others from hurting those like your love. He is safe, promise."
--------------
Mickey stopped breathing as he watched the video of Ian and the van.
" Fuck Gallagher , what are you thinking?"
Tumblr media
----------------
Ian looked and saw not the scared boy rushing out of the van but Mickey beaten and raped because of him.
SHIM would keep Mickey safe. Ian hit the button as flames exploded

Jinwoo Aura mentioned officially in the anime ✅
Jinwoo gets his first high rank human kill✅
Tumblr media
Another really good Solo Levelling episode. Honestly, Kang really didn’t do anything wrong until he threatened my baby Joohee. At that point, he had to go lol. Killing the prisoners I was ok with because they raped a girl and got off light for it, and they clearly weren’t remorseful. The two adventurers he killed had abandoned the party in the first dungeon so didn’t care about them either. But trying to kill the old dude and Joohee to leave no witnesses was too far 🤷🏾‍♂️
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fight between he and Jinwoo started out a little subpar compared to A-1’s usual standards. Lot of speed lines and some meh frames, but once Jinwoo started powering up it got a lot better.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So if Kang is a B rank, albeit one of the very best and gave Jinwoo a little trouble, I wonder what a fight against an A rank like Jinchul would be like..
Tumblr media
“The stronger I get, the more I feel something inside of me falling apart” I think this’ll be one of the most interesting things in the series. Just how much will he change from who he started out as. From what I’ve heard he’s gonna get magnitudes stronger, he’s already so different in terms of personality. Much more detached and cold. What’ll be left at the end?
Tumblr media
What’s that Joohee holding onto at the end of the episode?? Also damn she’s fine as hell

I find it hypocritical that you call out Stolas for how he treated Blitz in Murder Family even though in the same episode Blitz literally made a threat to Moxxie that he would rape both him and Millie if he messed up another mission.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I missed that in the video but yeah, even if that scene was meant to be a “joke”, it wasn’t ok for Blitz to do. Frankly, how Blitz treats Moxxie isn’t right even after their heart to heart post Truth Seekers, it’s still toxic.

Ok so I lumped this on the discord earlier but there was barely any grammar and most of it was just repetitive rambling. I decided to rewrite it for myself but also because I didn't wanna let that paragraph of autismsplaining go unheard. So yeah. Enjoy.
•••
In the comics it's Homelander that rapes Starlight, not The Deep. (It was also A-Train and Black Noir, but for the sake of this post we'll forget that.)
As we all know, The Deep alone assaulted Starlight in the show, and there are a few reasons I'm guessing they changed it. The main one is that if it were Homelander, it'd reveal that he's a bad guy too early on. In the first episode he's made out to be this perfect hero, maybe even the "one good supe", and then he lasers the Mayor of Baltimore's plane in half at the end and it all goes downhill from there. Although it would make Starlight's side of the story worse/more interesting with her inability to speak out and the realization of how far Vought is willing to go to keep profits, I can understand why this just wouldn't work.
So they changed it to The Deep. I could be reading too far into this, but I'm guessing it was him specifically because in the comics he seems (or seemed, since I'm still just past Herogasm) to not really have a storyline or even personality of his own. I can only remember him even talking once or twice. Other than Black Noir until that god awful plot twist, I'm pretty sure he's the only member of The Seven who you never get to learn anything about. They could've turned him into the real "one good supe" bar Starlight. They could've given him the Jack from Jupiter treatment and replace him with an original character. I guess they didn't wanna do the latter twice, which is fair. So to make him both a more significant character and more believable villain, this is what we were given.
Yet even with Homelander and The Deep's switched dynamics (probably not the right word), they still wanted to include the whole Ryan plot. For this reason, and I'm guessing this reason only, Homelander too was written as a rapist.
What I always found strange about this is that Homelander showed no signs of that sort of behaviour before or since Becca. I know they kind of needed him to be "that guy" so they could include Ryan in a comic-accurate way. Like, what's more realistic, Homelander settling down with a nice happy family or him gaining the female validation he craves by force? But still, that part of him is always jarring to remember.
I feel like this could've been done a lot more effectively if they delved deeper into his relationship with Stillwell. The reason people so often forget that she groomed him - or don't realise it at all - is because it's just never discussed. It's implied, mentioned in passing out of the show's context, but never actually spoken about. So often I see their relationship reduced to "haha mommy kink breast milk needy good boy." And to be fair, that's basically how it's portrayed in the show. I just wish that it wasn't. Anyway, I'll probably do a whole post about that in the future. I'm getting off topic.
What I'm actually trying to say here is that they probably almost gave The Deep a child instead. It would've made sense, including that aspect of the comics but changing things up again like usual, giving the child to "the" rapist character instead of creating a second one just for the sake of it. Again, I understand why they didn't go with this.
I mean, he wasn't a main antagonist in season one. And not once has he been considered a supervillain. It's more obvious as the show progresses that he's basically just comic relief (another thing I'm a little pissed about but I digress). And since his powers make him more of a glorified human than an actual supe, it would be harder to make his offspring a significant plot device. Ryan is a threat. A ticking time bomb. I'm very excited to see what they do with him in season four. But Kevin Junior? I mean, what would there even be to worry about besides toxic masculinity and an inherited case of body dysmorphia? The only thing this hypothetical kid would be good for is a redemption arc, and it's becoming increasingly clear that the show either doesn't want that for The Deep, or is saving it for the milisecond before his gruesome death.
If this was the original idea, I understand why it was kicked. If it wasn't, it's still kind of a missed opportunity. I really think it was an unusual choice to have Homelander rape Becca. Then again, there's the whole controversy over whether he actually did, but I'm not gonna get involved.

Ok, some opinions i have about these two new episodes:
Dad beat dad:
i can finally see what people mean when they say the show is rushed and the songs come out of nowhere, that was REALLY apparent in Dad beat dad, like i was literally jumpscared by the first song.
Lucifer is... Well i expected him to be goofy and pathetic sure but he felt... Idk a little dissapointing? Idk i just thought he'd be more interesting i guess, really don't like how fast his arc with Charlie went.
Mimzy was there. She exists i guess. Expected more from her.
Finally we see how shitty Alastor can be, the show up until now didn't really give anyone a reason to dislike him, but the way he treats Husk i think is a great way to illustrate that YES Alastor is a piece of shit, and should be seen as a piece of shit, i'm not saying if you like Alastor(Like i do) you shouldn't, but just keep in mind that he is abusing Husk.
I liked the songs and i thought the feud between Alastor and Lucifer was pretty funny, but i think it came out of nowhere? Still really funny tho.
Also Alastor said fuck omg
Welcome to Heaven:
Wish we got to see more of heaven, it was a little too fast and i had to keep pausing cuz there was to much happening and i couldn't see anything.
MOLLY MOLLY IS HERE YEEEEEEEEEES MOLLYYYYYYY
I thought it was interesting how the extermination was actually a SECRET like holy shit??? That's really cool i loved that, it gives heaven a little bit of redemption potencial.
Also Lute is hot haha
Anyway Sera and Emily are cool but we barely got to know them and that made me really sad. They are suppose to be really important but i feel like the show didn't really demonstrated it that well? It felt rushed is what i mean
Vaggie being an angel is something everyone knew but like, idk the reveal was a little too early for me, if they had revealed that in the last or near the last episode it would be a little more impactful i think, tho i understand if they want to explore Charlie and Vaggie's relantioship more with this conflict.
Adam being doubtful of his place in heaven was one of my favorite things in the episode, i really like Adam he is such an asshole and i love how they showed this weaker side to him, like the reason he is doing the extermination is kind of an affirmation that he deserves to be in heaven, loved that
The last song of the episode tho... Not great, not that the song was bad, it just didn't feel earned. Also Emily switching sides so fast gave me whiplash like girl who are you why is the show treating it like this moment is a big deal? I don't know her at all, i don't even know what her role in heaven is
The hotel side plot was great, best part of the episode, i loved to see Angel getting better, also cherry bomb yeeeeeeeeeeeeeee i love her sdsdhfuhsdufihbsdfbjhdsa
Sir Pentious liking her was such a surprise lol guess my Aroace headcannon went down the drain, i mean i still think he's ace(I have done something similar to what he was doing once so i know the struggle my guy)
HOWEVER i need to say i HATED the part where he said he'd have sex with everyone and got dragged into a room, that's like, so tasteless? Like guys you can't have an episode where a character is show being raped and abused on screen and the next episode make a joke about it with another character, that wasn't funny i really didn't like it, it made my expirience sour a little bit.
Nifty is cute i love her she's just like me when i'm drunk lmao
Also Angel and Husk babying her was so cute, i love these three so much sdfbshbdiufhsiuhfnahjifh
Anyway that's all, if anyone wants to argue about the points i brought up feel free to, i wanna know if my opinion on certain topics are fair of if i'm not seeing something

The Handmaids Tale
A good man
Tumblr media
Episode 402 Nightshade
Maybe there are no good men in Gilead.
I think there are good men everywhere. Even here. It's just complicated, you know? Gilead makes it really hard to be good.
Tumblr media
Episode 409 Progress
Yeah, you've got a good man in Gilead who can help you now.
That's true.
Tumblr media
Episode 510 Safe
If it was up to me, I'd take you at your word.
Not sure how much my word is worth right now.
I'd call you an honorable man.
Tumblr media
Episode 510 Safe
You're a liar. You say that because you want to feel like you're a good man.
It’s interesting to me how by the end of the season, at first glance Rose doesn’t think Nick is a good man simply because he’s in love with somebody else. But by Gilead standards though he is a good man. He is a comander that appears to be up and rising and he has a pregnant wife, upholding those good ol’ Gilead values where love isn’t a priority.
Why did you pretend that you loved me? I do love you. (Just not the way Nick loves June which is pretty much the same situation June is in in terms of how she now feels about Luke-but that’s a topic for another post). The thing is Rose knew about June. She didn’t seem to mind him helping June, as long as her privileged position in Gilead wasn’t threatened. Maybe she assumed that after Fred, Nick would be done with June and because she knew he is a good man he would then focus on moving forward with life he had to make in Gilead in order to survive - just like June had to do in Canada (Hey june try to be happy. You too). This means that she was ok with Nick committing treason by helping June and by setting up a founding father (like her father) to be killed. That tells me that she was ok with being with a man she knew didn’t love her and that she was content with a Gilead marriage. Why? I think it was simply because it gave her what she wanted. Power and privilege acquired on her own and not because of who her father is. The moment Nick threatened that status for her, he stopped being a good man, and that began when he killed Putnam. Rose had a problem with Nick killing Putnam but she didn’t seem to have a problem with the fact that Putnam raped a young girl. Again that tells me that as long as she could keep the status that being a wife with child gave her she really didn’t mind Gilead and she believed she could acquire that with Nick. She had to make the appeal to her father to marry Nick and I always assumed that statement meant she had to plead with her father to be able to marry Nick since she’s the daughter of a high commander and Nick wasn’t in the same level as her. She wasn’t forced to marry him, she chose to marry him and if she chose him, it was because she believed he was a good man. For Rose, Nick was a good man as long as he could give her what she wanted. Once that fell apart he stopped being a good man for her.
Now in contrast June has never really doubted Nick. At first he was all she had. Even now with her being in Canada you can tell he’s the only person she fully trusts. During the first seasons she could’ve easily had him put on the wall, but instead by the end of Season 1 she chose to trust him and get in the van. Just like in season 4 she trusted him and she let herself be captured. Even after not seeing him and even after finding out he was part of the take over, for June he has always been a good man. Even with the constant ambiguity that surrounds his characters given to us by the show, if we put the pieces together we can easily see that Nick is a good man that has had to make questionable choices.

It'd be the absolute worst if the show had Blitz say he wants to keep the full moon deal going. It'd be trying to play it like 'see? Blitz doesn't feel exploited, he wants to be exploited some more!! Stolas Did Nothing Wrong and you people were just reading way too much into it'. Even if Blitz did want to keep the deal going, it's not like it would retroactively make it OK in the first place. 1) Stolas used him getting shot at to coerce him into it, 2) Blitz looked like he was visibly dreading Stolas' enthusiasm over the phone, 3) Stolas was effectively still holding his ability to keep his business going over his head the entire time they had the deal going, 4) Ozzie's shows Blitz feels he has to placate Stolas with sex and immediately associates being alone with Stolas = having to sleep with him, a notion Stolas has done nothing to dispel and 5) Blitz had been literally sold to be Stolas' friend for the day as a child - even if he had somehow rationalized to himself that what Stolas is doing is OK, it wouldn't make it OK, it would just suggest Blitz has been raised in a world where he has to compartmentalize being sold or selling himself to rich nobles in order to survive as normal.
Honestly if they go that route I think it'll be the most disgusting thing the show has ever done, and it would remind me of the worst trope BL stories are prone to - where one character rapes another and the last act of the story 'reveals' the victim actually wanted it the whole time in an attempt to recontextualize the assault as being consensual so the perpetrator can be rewritten into a straightforward love interest. I hate that trope so much, it feeds into so many pernicious myths about SA. I just don't understand how the writers can want to cape for Stolas so much that they're willing to throw not only all the stories complexity on the bonfire, but any kind of ethical backbone, too.
It really feels like they had Blitz seduce Stolas for the book that first time (instead of it being spontaneous on both ends or Stolas proposing it, since Blitz's dialogue in the pilot is ambiguous) to make it look like they're mutually using one another and somehow soften Stolas' actions, even though Blitz wasn't exactly subtle about the fact that he intended it to be a one time thing and only wanted the book. If Stolas had just demanded the grimoire back it's not like Blitz could have refused, literally no one forced Stolas to sleep with Blitz the first time or to keep booty calling him or demand monthly sex from him. It was all his choice to do that. And frankly there's a big difference between using someone to survive, and using someone to get your kicks knowing you can tank their business at any moment.
This, all of it.
Fully prepared for the bile to rise pretty high in my throat after this episode, but I'm prepared to do some serious tamping.

Trigger Warning: Discussion of rape.
Ginathon Episodes: Episode 229
Gina drops in for a few minutes before her official return after her and Jonathan went on an African Safari just to check that everything is OK and to see if there's anything she needs to deal with immediately.
Tumblr media
She hears shouts coming from the canteen and hurries through in time to see Cameron beating the living daylights out of Gabriel after he taunts him about raping Kerry. Gina breaks it apart and threatens both with arrest.
Ginathon Episodes: Episode 230
Gina tries to get Gabriel to drop charges against Cameron for his attack. Cameron isn't exactly helpful as he will only tell Gina that it's a private matter. Gabriel claims he doesn't know why Cameron assaulted him and he wants him kicked out. Kerry tells Cameron that Gabriel has the CCTV tape that shows Cameron distract her from the victim in the armed robbery who had the bomb strapped to him. It shows her take her attention from the victim to shout Cameron back - and then the explosion. That is why she didn't report the rape the day before like she'd told Cameron she was going to.

Jonathan works with Sam and the CID officers to build the case against Serial Rapist Alan Kennedy. He tells Sam that they need more than the basic forensic evidence (soil sample and boot print matching one of Kennedy's) to have a charge authorised. One of Kennedy's victims caught a glimpse of him and Sam hopes that she can pick him up through an ID parade. Kerry says that Khadijah isn't strong enough and - when Sam visits her - it's clear that she's far too fragile to be involved.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first chance they get, Jonathan and Gina meet up outside to catch up on how their days are going - with Gina playfully telling Jonathan off for smoking because he was giving up. He tells her about Khadijah and she tells him about Gabriel. "I thought he was the aggrieved party?" he asks. "Just because he's not guilty of one thing doesn't mean he's not guilty of another." Gina sighs. Jonathan teases her about being a die hard police officer and she points out being innocent and being proved innocent are two different matters. "Cut you in half and is says 'Evenin' all' right the way through does it?"
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gina asks Kerry what the fight was about. She says she has no idea. Gina tells her Cameron would be right there for her if she needed him to be and asks where her loyalty is. Gabriel taunts Kerry in the women's locker room so she marches out to tell Gina that he raped her. Gabriel continues to mock her as he follows her, claiming it'd just be her 'crying rape again' and that he has the video of what really happened at the armed robbery. Kerry insists she doesn't care anymore and it's about protecting Cameron. "Sacrifice yourself for Pretty Boy? You ain't got the bottle." he snarls. "Just watch me!"
As Kerry is about to confess all to Gina, Sam and Jonathan arrive with Khadijah who has gotten up the courage to try and identify her rapist. Unfortunately, Khadijah catches sight of Gabriel and freaks out. In Gina's office, Kerry bluffs that a picture of Gabriel from a poster she'd been making to commemorate a party had accidentally fallen from her bag mid-talk with Khadijah and she saw it and got the wrong idea. The truth is that after Gabriel raped her, Kerry suspected Gabriel was the serial rapist and showed Khadijah the picture to see if she recognised him. Gabriel tells them he spoke to Khadijah when she was in hospital and she'd have recognised him from there. Kerry is bollocked by Sam and Gina and told that identification was the only strong link they could have gotten to put Kennedy in the frame. When asked what she has to say for herself and with Gabriel smugly smirking at her, Kerry has to take it all and keep quiet.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gina senses something's wrong with Jonathan. Kennedy was a City high flyer until he was accused of indecent assault. It was Jonathan who defended him. He blames himself for putting a serial rapist back on the streets. He tells her that Kennedy quite obviously enjoyed the circus of the trial and the legal loopholes that Jonathan used to defend him and seeing his victim humiliated all over again. Jonathan has a daughter the same age as a missing child who it's suspected could be another victim. "I can't help thinking "What if it was her?"
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gabriel confronts Kerry for showing Khadijah his picture, thinking she was setting him up. Kerry simply says that he raped her so why not the rest of them - she had to know if it was him. Gabriel calls her a stupid bitch and advances on her. Kerry grabs a glass bottle from the table and smashes it, holding it out towards Gabriel. He says he'd never take women off the street and rape and cut them like Kennedy. Kerry scoffs "Oh that's bad is it? What you did to me? How's that different? Good rape, bad rape...? Maybe you could explain it to me because I'm a little bit confused right now." For weeks he'd been telling her that it's no big deal whilst she's felt dirty and empty whilst trying to drink herself to sleep each night and hoping she wouldn't wake up in the morning and hating herself for being weak. She tells him there's only so far someone can be pushed before they can't be hurt anymore and she's at that point. If he ever goes near her again she promises him that she will kill him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gina confronts Gabriel later in the canteen. "You said we don't see eye to eye, you and I. Well the truth is, I've always seen you as a conniving, scheming and ultimately selfish little toerag. But I'm giving you a chance to prove me wrong...." she says before suggesting a compromise to save Cameron's job. He agrees without hearing what it is. "I don't really care anymore." he says, walking off.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cameron and Kerry have a heart to heart that gets interrupted by Honey. It breaks the reconciliatory mood (there'd been something brewing between them whilst the two were apart). Cameron gets a call which leads to Kennedy being found and Cameron arresting him. "At least that's one rapist scum off the streets." he says in response to being congratulated, staring threateningly at Gabriel as he does. Gina tells Cameron if he tells her what the fight is about, she'll write a report full of mitigating circumstances and he'll keep his job. Cameron says he can't tell her and he realises it will cost him his job so he's booked a flight home to Sydney that night, resigning with immediate effect.
Honey tells Kerry that Cameron is leaving and she runs off to find him, literally chasing his cab and begging him to stop. He does and they talk with Kerry learning that the mother of his child is taking their daughter over and he doesn't say no when she suggests they might get back together down the line. He'll only get back together with her if she comes out with him to Australia and won't stay - even for a few more weeks. They share a kiss and he gets back into his taxi and leaves her behind.
Even as someone who isn't Kerry's biggest fan - how many bloody times can one girl be kicked in the face in just one episode?!

How gay witches saved my life, or, how I fell in love with The Owl House
(Content warning: Bullying, suicidal thoughts, depression.) I don't have that many true hyperfixations. I think it has to do with what happened when I was younger. My family and my classmates all used to make fun of me and treat me like shit because I was obsessed with certain things, and I guess it had an effect to make me not really excited or enthusiastic about things I like. I've gotten better about it as I've gotten older, that's part of the reason normal people can't beat me at Splatoon, and why I've gotten hyper focused on writing and drawing. So, when this Disney cartoon came along about gay witches fighting a Puritan, my eyebrow raised slightly. I thought nothing of The Owl House at first, I have a lot of issues with Disney and how they treat their employees (especially animators,) and the whole James Gunn incident from a few years ago really bothered me. Note for everyone: When a Nazi who openly mocks his rape victim because he got away with it tries to destroy the reputation of a famous director, ignore them and tell them to piss off, especially if said director has repeatedly apologized for his actions for over a decade. Still, the Owl House kept going, and soon Grom happened, then the kiss, and suddenly, my interests actually turned towards the show. "What's this? A gay(-ish) main character kissed a girl and she likes it, on a DISNEY show? I'm invested." It also just happened to fall alongside a really bad breakup I had with someone. Someone who lied to me, used me, and tossed me aside without any real explanation. I was feeling super low, I didn't feel a reason to live, especially because what happened in that breakup was something that had happened with every friend, family member, classmate, teacher, social worker, co-worker, and lover I've had. I'm too trusting when people offer care, people take advantage of my kindness and loneliness. So, after a while, hearing about the cancellation, and absorbing quite a bit of the fandom from perusing the internet for a while, I decided to subscribe to Disney+ and watch the series. And I was immediately hooked. Are you telling me that, after years of wanting everything squeaky clean, without any real representation in race, disability, or sexual orientation, that Disney gave the ok for a series that has nothing but? A show where the bisexual Latina girl had a crush/romance with another girl, and it wasn't shoved in at the last episode? Where mental health is explored and accepted, and where character try to understand each other, even as enemies? Ok Disney, fine, you got me... You really fucking got me. But more over, I empathize with the characters in that series. I know how Luz feels being weird and isolated for it, I know what it's like to have abusive family or be lied to and manipulated, I know what it's like to feel weak and worthless while everyone uses you for your smarts or kindness. But I also love things with all of my heart (not just people, but those few hyperfixations I have,) I have been through a lot but yearn to be stronger, to grow from my mistakes and pain. This series hit me like an emotional train, dragging my fat trans ass several miles as it made a lot of feelings I've had bubble up to the surface. In fact, it helped me process my feelings on not only the breakup, but also how awful I've been treated by everyone. I love this stupid gay witch show with all of my heart and soul, and I curse Disney for canceling it, for trying to bury it because it "didn't fit our brand" or whatever bullshit lie they came up with to justify it. Basically what I'm saying here is that I'm..... writing the first fan fiction I've written in over a decade about Hexsquad going on a road trip two years after the Epilogue. I hope you all will look forward to it, and I hope to put a lot of fun stuff into it.

Gemstones Episode 2.8, Continued: Macaulay Culkin grows up, the Cycle Ninjas break out, and Jussie Smollett shows his stuff
Tumblr media
Previous: Episode 2.8: Baby Billy sees a ghost, Judy becomes a mom, and Kelvin gets *** up. With nude dwarf athletes
Baby Billy's Baby Boy: Harmon the special-needs son who Baby Billy abandoned at Christmas 1993. has grown into a special-needs adult (Macaulay Culkin), But nevertheless he has achieved the heterosexual nuclear family trajectory of job, house, wife, and kids.Actually, his wife has the job (a lawyer, "an educated breadwinner") but close enough.
Suddenly the doorbell rings: it's a card with a photo of Harmon on Santa's lap the day his Daddy abandoned him.  Then his Daddy!
Baby Billy wants to fix things between them, so he can move forward with his new son.  So it's not about Harmon, it's about you?  Harmon says just don't make the same mistake again, and "Can I hit you with a closed fist as hard as I can in the face?"  That's rather precise, but Baby Billy agrees, and gets walloped.
Jesse Smollett and K-Fed: Back stage before Eli's  "welcome back" service, the siblings are in makeup and practicing their enunciation. They agree to make Daddy proud by showing how much they love each other. Judy says that she loves "Jesse Smollett" and "K-Fed," whereupon Kelvin makes a strange feminine gesture.
Tumblr media
K-Fed is Kevin Federline, an actor, musician, and dj, known for his brief marriage to Britney Spears.
Jesse Smollett is Jussie Smollett (top photo and left), an actor who came out as gay in 2015.  On the Fox drama Empire (2014), he played a gay musician trying to gain the approval of father, a hiphop mogul.  Sounds more like Kelvin.
At least Jussie's character managed to kiss a dude. Kelvin won't get around to that for another umpteen episodes.
Back to the siblings: They're going to take a photo with the Millins, an impoverished family that the church is gifting $50,000.  Judy wonders why they are bothering with such a small amount, "barely any money at all." It doesn't seem worthwhile.  "Poor people love money," Kelvin explains.
Geez, just when you think these people have redeemed themselves...are they so lacking in empathy, or are they so out of touch that they don't realize that $50,000 is almost a full year's household income in South Carolina?
Wait -- where is Eli?
Eli and Junior reconcile: Eli skipped his welcome-back service to make a surprise visit to Junior's wrestling studio in Memphis.  He couldn't have waited until after church?
Suspicious of his motives (naturally, after the run-in with Jesse), Junior comes armed with his own God Squad of four musclemen. But Eli has had enough: he doesn't want to fight.
"But you ignored and disrespected me," Junior says, forgetting for a moment that Eli also broke his heart, "And sent your asshole son to threaten me with violence, to rape me.  What's up with that?"
Eli denies that he sent Jesse, and comes clean about his father murdering Junior's father. Junior is ok with it: "He was asshole, anyway."
They stand so close together that one expects them to kiss.  But then Junior drops one last bombshell: he didn't send the Cycle Ninjas.  Someone else is trying to kill Eli.  But who?
Cut to the police station.  Sheriff Brenda is on the toilet, when she hears an explosion.  The lights go out, and the fire alarm goes on.  Out in the hallway, cops are lying dead.  The Cycle Ninjas have escaped!  The end.
One episode left, and a lot of questions to answer.

9, 10, and 12 for BtVS and/or AtS!
9. worst part of canon
OK, I'm splitting this into 2 answers, one for BtVS and one for AtS. For BtVS there are many contenders I could choose from -- I think Willow's magic addiction arc completely derailed her character, I think Spike's attempted rape of Buffy completely derailed both of their characters since the network was never going to get rid of Spike which meant that S7 had to be in large part about Buffy forgiving him, I think Buffy's choice to activate the potentials worldwide without their consent fundamentally undermines the themes of the show -- but I am going to go with the actual Slayer mythology they came up with in S7 because it is so incredibly racist.
As a refresher, in 7.15 "Get it Done" Buffy finds out through a ritual that places her in the shoes of the First Slayer (who, in another classic racist BtVS move, is never named by the show) that the Slayer was created when the precursors to the Watchers, the "Shadow Men", forced the spirit of a demon into a human woman. Which, OK, sure, but the actual scene frames this act as a metaphorical gang-rape perpetuated by a bunch of nameless black men against the First Slayer -- who, again, is represented in this scene by Buffy, a white woman. Which is bad enough, but it doesn't actually end there -- in 7.21 "End of Days" we meet a "Guardian", one of a group of women who created the Scythe and hid it away from the "Shadow Men" (terrible name with racist undertones) so it could one day be used by the Slayer. This woman, who is presumably from the same geographical location & time period as the First Slayer & the "Shadow Men"...is a blonde white woman. Because of course she is. :| Anyway, it's awful and racist and I hate it so much.
For AtS, there are also many contenders --I think Fred's death is hideously misogynistic, I think the implication in 4.15 "Orpheus" that Angel & Angelus are literally two different people is deeply damaging to the character & show, I think the fact that all the narratively important female characters are dead before the finale speaks for itself -- but I have to go with one specific, oft-underdiscussed yet crucial aspect of the Jasmine-possessing-Cordelia arc in S4. Which is that the audience is not let in on the fact that Cordelia is not herself until 4.12 "Calvary", and in 4.07 "Apocalypse, Nowish", Jasmine has sex with Connor while possessing Cordelia, an act that we the audience are meant to find objectionable & disgusting even without knowing about the possession. But because the audience does not know about the possession, the blame for this act of pseudo-incest falls on Cordelia. So for six straight episodes, the other characters and the audience are not just permitted but actively encouraged by the show to blame & vilify a woman for her own rape. I think that's utterly vile and it's by far the worst element of the S4 debacle. If I could change only one thing about the show, it would be that.
10. worst part of fanon
I know you've said you aren't so tapped in to the online side of fandom so I am truly sorry if I am the one who must inform you that there are a sizable number of people on this website who are very attached to the idea that Spike (yes, that Spike) is a lesbian. I don't just mean they make jokes about it; there are entire metas about why Spike is actually a woman and why Spuffy is a lesbian relationship. So, uh. If you didn't know. Now you know.
12. the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them
See this is tough because the culture has changed so much on this site that I don't even know who's unpopular anymore! Cordelia and especially Dawn used to be unpopular on Tumblr but I don't actually think they are these days. I don't think Gunn is unpopular either though I do think he's underappreciated. But in terms of actually unpopular characters I am going to go to bat for my mans Connor Angel. I do think the writing did not always serve him very well but his actions are completely sympathetic if you get inside his head and he is also so so funny and sassy like all 3 of his parents. (Angel, Darla, & Cordelia. NOT counting Holtz. He can choke.)

Damn Jazz Back At It Again With The Helluva Boss Rambles
Back on my bullshit again with another post now that I’ve mellowed out from the shock of how shit that episode was lol
I wish mobile made it easier to add the “Keep Reading” tab but it’s fine
I’ve seen so many people go around being like “o it’s ok if Stella’s generic and not given more personality like everyone else because women can be bad didn’t you know that something something Amber Herd” and apparently anyone who thinks otherwise is just a Vivziepop hater who thinks she’s a misogynist (love the strawman shit mmm so juicy). And while evil for evil’s sake can be fun and cool in something like Sleeping Beauty (aka an adaptation of a fairy tale that’s already a story of “good vs evil”), why would you expect me to be chill with that in a show where the demons are, for the most part, more than just evil demons? If Stella was some minor, one-off character like that asshole imp guy at Loo Loo Land, that’d be one thing, but she’s not. She’s one of the main antagonists. This isn’t a “good vs. evil” story where you don’t need to worry about that kind of thing, Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel are supposed to be more than that. I’d be just as confused if Valentino or Vox, for every second of screentime they had, were doing nothing but going “haha rape haha prostitution haha tv is so cool” for 25 minutes and that’s it. But I digress.
I’m writing this because I was suddenly reminded of a character that’s basically what Stella could’ve been: Flowey. Flowey is just as volatile and agressive as Stella is, attacking you, killing you, and possibly having done countless genocide runs in the past with his own ability to RESET. Then, we get his backstory and find out who he used to be and why he’s the way he is. He’s an unfeeling sociopathic child. He was created with absolutely no way of feeling empathy because he has no SOUL. The child that he used to be is angry, longing for his past and his old friend, and was put into this situation for reasons that weren’t even his fault. Flowey is also a victim, but that doesn’t mean he can’t also be evil or do hurtful things. Whether or not you choose to show him pity or mercy is up to the player, but the fact that he’s that complex enough to warrant that choice is just part of Undertale’s writing. Hell, even Toriel is a better Stella than what Stella is in “canon”. I personally don’t like Toriel, but she does have depth to her (until the end where she just waltzes in and takes over the situation and no one does a thing to stop her because it’s Toriel and I guess everyone’s just chill with the traitorous queen coming in and acting like she’s in charge). Toriel comes in acting all sweet and nice, but is very clingy and definitely has issues with guilt and a black-and-white morality to justify her own actions. She’s not simply “ah, my child have some pie and we’ll be a family my child” 24/7. She’s a spiteful bitch, a hypocrite, and runs away from her problems. Again, this is because Undertale’s writing is (for the most part) consistent with giving it’s characters more depth underneath the memes and quotable dialogue.
Now, why am I writing all this about Undertale? Because it and HB/HH are on similar levels of writing. They both try to show more than just what’s at face value. Charlie is nice and sweet but will throw hands and has self-doubts, Alastor is everyone’s nightmare, but according to the comics, he does crave genuine interaction and is much nicer towards women (aside from Vaggie but my theory is that it’s because she’s not as feminine as Charlie or the Sheep Woman and far less easy to charm). So if Alastor, a mass murderer and cannibal who is more than likely going to do everything he can to mess with the Hotel’s success for his own entertainment, can have elements of good in him, then why the fuck can’t Stella? Oh, I know why, because Alastor isn’t interfering with the “romance”. I already didn’t like Stolitz before but Season 2 has nuked any chance of making me change my mind. This whole “romance” is being pushed so hard that it’s tainting the writing with retcons and things that just make no sense. Why would Octavia say “you ruined it” to Stolas in episode 2 if Stella was apparently just mean and nasty the whole time and Stolas was just soooo innocent? Why does the Ozzie’s song frame it like Stella and Octavia are victims of Stolas fucking up if Stella was always secretly the evil one and not Stolas? Why is Stolas ashamed if he was so proudly yelling about his divorce in front of her friends? Why is Goetia divorce a thing if the Goetia family looks down on it and sets up arranged marriages? Why the fuck is Stella just around and eating at the dinner table like they’re married if she can’t stand Stolas? Why is she ranting about Stolas being a cheater on the phone, if they’re separated and if she just doesn’t care about anything but money? And why the dickshit would Stella, someone who everyone is so fucking sure is only in it for her image, just blabbing about how shit her marriage is if that would just make her look like a loser who’s settling for trash? It makes no fucking sense unless it’s all just some poorly done retcon of earlier events. Hell, the pilot is supposedly non-canon, and yet a scene of it pops up in the new episode, so I can’t even be sure what’s true or not.
Sigh, but I guess at the end of the day, I saw this coming. They’re trying so hard to push Stolitz that the writing has to suffer for it. I’m not even sure I want to continue the series, if it’s just gonna become some genetic telenovela where everyone is so evil unless they wanna help Stolas in some way because he’s “such a victim”. I never wanted to have to write something like this and I sure as shit never foresaw myself reblogging critical content, but it is the way it is, I guess. But, that’s what rewrites and AUs are for, and I’ll be working on mine.
Anyway, that’s it for now unless I find something else to ramble about. Later.
