Oh yeah the Archie stuff is wild, huh. The (spoiler-y) reason why USUM used his other design is because Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald (original design) are a different universe than ORAS (changed design). In USUM an alternate universe Giovanni pulls in other evil team leaders who, in their universes, won. Archie and Maxie (from Sapphire and Ruby, respectively) come from non-ORAS universes, and thus have their old designs to make it clearer to players that they're not from ORAS. Which is (I think!) a fun idea, but it has some… implications… with Archie, who is depicted so differently (in contrast, Maxie just has a different outfit).

So, going more into the monthly Message:

Raihan PokeFair scouting begins the 28th, alongside a timed trial event with event missions happening periodically from that point on for other timed trial events. We also get a free 3k to Scout him with. (So, 11 3* then. That is sincerely all I ever pull when they've given us big gem gifts.)

Battle Villa and Blissful Bonanza come back Apr30.

Father or Foe starts May4. Alder and N take a major role in this event. (I can't wait to see Ghetsis's Pokemon Center dialogue. I'd just love to see him trying to manipulate the player, with him occasionally hinting about what he'd do to us if we got in his way 💀)

A special event called Weather Alert will start May6, and be divided into two phases, with the second half starting mid-May. I think Archie and Maxie will be given later tho since Absolutely doesn't include them in the new Pairs list. (I guess Legendary Events later? Idk. Also, happy to see they're using their way better ORAS designs unlike RR.)

Solo Event with Bea and Nessa Scouting starts mid-May.

When will people quit complaining about Archie and Maxie's original RSE designs being used? This game is an homage to the entire series, they're using original designs for all of them, Ghetsis and arguably Giovanni included with the change being the TR logo. There are players in today's age who have honest to god never seen the original designs before either through not playing the games or being to young to remember.

Literally if y'all want to see their new designs, they're still there in ORAS! Released only in 2014. They're not that old or forgotten.

Seriously some people are taking it so personally, lol. They're villains, you're supposed to dislike them. Just kick their asses and move on. They're probably only going to be in the limelight for 5 minutes anyway so gamefreak can make Giovanni more important.
