Lovely Writer: Count 18 & 19
So I decided to buy and translate the paid chapters, because I can’t stand being totally in the dark about what’s going to happen on Lovely Writer. I hope you guys enjoy it!
I summarized Count 17 here. Based on the Episode 8 promo, these chapters (17-19) should be included in the episode. Keep in mind that my Thai is elementary so I’m just translating the main points of the chapters. Also that they often cut scenes or move them around.
Count 18
After coming home from the mall and dealing with the fan who wanted his signature, Gene goes home and writes for a bit before watching a show and then falling asleep.
He wakes and notices his phone which he put on silent is vibrating.
He checks it and sees that it’s Nubsib asking if he ate.
Gene says he hasn’t but he will. He notices that it’s only 2PM which means Nubsib is texting him during his lunch break.
Nubsib asks if he’ll sleep over at his place tonight and Gene doesn’t know if it’s an invitation or a question. He says no even though he wants to meet Nubsib.
Since Nubsib moved out they’ve been talking a lot. Gene doesn’t usually like to text but with Nubsib it doesn’t feel burdensome. Texting Nubsib so much makes Gene feel vulnerable, like the person who always wanted to be alone isn’t there.
Gene eats dinner and then works on his writing. His writerly muse is hitting him and he feels inspired. He makes a coffee and goes out on the balcony. It’s hot even at night, because it’s Thailand.
Nubsib says, “Are you just eating that, or are you already full?” and Gene is so shocked he almost drops his coffee.
Luckily, Nubsib catches it.
Nubsib is on the balcony to his left and Gene is shocked. As far as he knows, the person next door was a business person in their thirties who stopped using the condo cause they got married and moved in with their spouse.
The condo isn’t expensive but it ain’t cheap either. Gene asks how Nubsib is in that condo and Nubsib says he bought it.
Gene wants to faint thinking about poor Uncle Wat (Nubsib’s Dad) who had to pay for it but Nubsib assures Gene that he used his own money.
Gene asks Nubsib if he regrets using his own money and Nubsib is like, “If it gets me closer to Gene...”
Nubsib says he only regrets that it’s stressing Gene out, so if Gene wants he can move in with him. They can sell the condo right now.
Gene asks what the hell he’s talking about and Nubsib laughs. He leans closer to give Gene the mug of coffee he almost dropped and Gene tentatively takes it. Nubsib takes the chance to kiss his cheek.
Nubsib tells Gene he’s not poor or struggling. He bought this condo a year ago.
Gene is shocked and realizes that’s when Nubsib came back from abroad. Nubsib admits that he planned to move into the neighbouring apartment last year, but then he found out that Gene was having a casting for his series and he chose to go that route instead.
Gene realizes that Nubsib is extremely invested in him. He’s very happy that Nubsib was honest but he’s frustrated with how lonely he feels now that Nubsib is out of his condo (even though he’s next door) and how Nubsib’s confession doesn’t make him angry at all. He only regrets that Nubsib spent so much money on the condo.
Gene wants Nubsib to feel as annoyed as he does so he calls him “Nong Sib”. It works because Nubsib’s face becomes cold and serious.
Nubsib asks Gene if he remembers what he said. If Gene calls him “Nong” then he’ll kiss him as punishment. Gene says he didn’t forget but he’s not stupid enough to open his door for Nubsib. He then remembers the card keys.
Gene goes to his wallet and checks and realized that Nubsib gave him the card key for apartment 1714. Nubsib’s apartment is 1714 which means Nubsib tricked him, and gave Gene the card to enter HIS apartment. Nubsib still has card key 1713 (Gene’s condo #) which means he can enter Gene’s condo whenever he wants.
Nubsib calls Gene back to the balcony and asks if he’s mad. Gene says he isn’t because he realized that he likes feeling like Nubsib is right around the corner.
Nubsib asks Gene to come closer and then kisses his cheek. He asks Gene if he slept yet because the lights have been on all night. Gene says he hasn’t so Nubsib tells him to sleep.
Nubsib comes over the next day, and rings the doorbell. Gene is barely dressed when he answers the door and Nubsib tells him to put his clothes on properly before he answers the door next time.
Gene is touched that Nubsib rang the doorbell even though he has a card key because it makes him feel like Nubsib is respecting his feelings.
They decide to go out to eat. Gene notices the toy in the car and remembers his drunk night playing with it.
Nubsib drives them to the mall in his sportscar.
Gene can’t decide between sukiyaki or pizza. Nubsib pays for both and says they can just bring them both back and eat one later which makes Gene feel spoiled. He thought Nubsib would be the spoiled one as a kid.
They drive back to the condo to eat, and in the parking lot Nubsib says he’s glad Gene asked him out on a date to eat. Gene says he didn’t and pushes Nubsib’s face away when he comes close.
Neung interrupts them. He’s there in an expensive suit and he looks surprised. Gene jumps away from Nubsib.
Neung says that he decided to stop by because he heard that Nubsib moved in there.
Gene tries to get Nubsib’s hands off his waist but he doesn’t budge or seem to care at all.
Neung asks what he’s doing there and Gene says he lives there. Neung immediately says “Oh! I understand.” and Gene doesn’t get it.
Nubsib is smiling and Neung laughs. He tells Nubsib not to forget to tell their parents and Nubsib tells him not to worry. He’ll bring Gene home himself.
Gene is confused. He tells Neung not to worry, when he goes back he’ll visit Auntie Orn and Uncle Wat himself.
Gene tells Neung they’re going to make sukiyaki at his condo but he doesn’t really want him to come over. Not because his place is dingy, but because he doesn’t want him to notice anything between him and Nubsib.
Nubsib’s hand tightens on his waist and he whispers that if Gene tells Neung that then he’s going to stay for awhile.
Neung assures them that he won’t stay long because he has to deal with some documents.
They go upstairs and start eating and Nubsib is totally silent while eating except for giving Gene extra meat.
Gene kicks Nubsib and tells him to give Neung meat too. Nubsib says, “Phi has hands too doesn’t he?” and Gene demands that he gives Neung food. Nubsib only gives him lettuce so Gene gives Neung some of his meat.
Nubsib tells Gene not to give Neung meat and to give it to him instead and Gene throws back in his face, “Why? Don’t you have hands?”
Neung says, “I don’t eat innards. Please give each other meat. You don’t have to pretend to be interested in me.”
Gene protests that that’s not what they’re doing and Neung says, “You guys would kiss if I wasn’t here, please just let me sit and eat here quietly.” Gene chokes on his broth.
After dinner Neung goes out to smoke on the balcony.
Gene joins him and Neung says he’s known about Nubsib’s interest in Gene for awhile. Why did Gene want to hide? He goes further and asks if they’re dating.
Gene fumbles and Neung says he’s been waiting for it for a long time, which makes Gene blush. Neung admits that he called his parents already and they’ll be so delighted to ask him to be a real son.
Gene’s mind is going into overdrive because he never thought about the reality that would be their close families finding out. Neung tells him to calm down and not overthink. His family is not conservative.
Gene tells Neung that he’s not with Nubsib yet and Neung says he knows, because Gene wouldn’t survive it.
Gene chokes for the second time that night.
Count 19
Gene went to bed at 7AM the night prior, so he needs to be dragged out of bed by Tum.
They have an event at Siam Paragon.
Gene says he’s not going to go and Tum urges him, saying that his husband is going, so doesn’t he want to go? And Gene is so tired he doesn’t care and replies, “My husband?”
Tum calls him a bastard for not waking up on time, because he promised Tum he’d go with him to the after party.
Gene goes to get dressed and sees Nubsib when he goes into the living room. Nubsib asks if he’s tired and if he ate and Gene says he hasn’t slept and he is hungry, but it’s fine. He’ll eat at the mall.
Gene sleeps a bit in the car and when they arrive at the mall it’s mostly highschool girls. Gene is forced to stand to the side while Nubsib and the main actors are interviewed.
A girl ends up waving Gene over for a picture.
She asks him to take a picture with Nubsib and Gene intends to refuse but Nubsib tells Gene to come over.
Nubsib tells Gene to smile a little more cutely. Gene frowns and says he’s not cute and Nubsib laughs which makes the fangirls scream.
Gene is overwhelmed by the crowd and the attention and excuses himself to pee.
Tum follows him and asks if he has a cloth or glasses (to hide his identity). He squeezes Gene’s face and Gene tells him off but Tum jokes about how he wants to touch the celebrity.
Tum tells Gene that there’s a clip of him brushing his teeth on his balcony so people know that he lives in Nubsib’s building, which could be a problem. It was fine when the series was in pre-production but if more shippers flock to SibGene over SibAey now, it will be a problem.
Gene understands how shippers and BL series work so he tells Tum he understands.
He decides to go to the food court to get some food because he didn’t eat. Tum says that’s fine but to remember to LINE Nubsib and tell him where he went.
Gene gets his food and then goes into the bathroom to cool his face with water.
Aey appears and asks Gene why he’s alone. He then says that Gene should be comfortable, since they’re alone.
Gene tries to pass but Aey blocks him. He says that he saw lots of cute tweets about Gene and then asks if Nubsib and Gene are dating.
Gene says, “What do you mean dating?” and Aey goes, “You’re really going to say that again?”
Aey says what he said in the promo. “You like Nubsib, even though you know I like Nubsib.”
Aey says that he thinks Gene is a very naive and cute person, which is bad. Gene is confused at his insult wrapped in a compliment.
Aey gets so close that their noses touch and says it’s good that Gene is stupid like this.
Gene doesn’t like confrontation but Aey is his Nong and he feels like this is very disrespectful. He tells Aey to have some manners and Aey asks if he’s angry with him.
Nubsib interrupts them and he’s so scary Gene doesn’t dare to speak.
He asks Aey if he forgot what they talked about and Aey says he didn’t. Nubsib tells Aey not to mess around and Aey says he isn’t. This is his truth.
Nubsib says he won’t repeat himself a third or fourth time.
His demeanour changes and he grabs Gene’s hand, telling him that Tum is waiting for them.
He drags Gene from the bathroom and tells him to stay away from Aey because he’s not good.
Gene asks if they have a problem and Nubsib says it’s not a problem, but a matter.
Gene asks if the matter involves him and Nubsib says yes.
Nubsib won’t elaborate so Gene says he wasn’t finished talking to Aey. Nubsib says he was and that’s all that matters. If Gene doesn’t understand what’s going on, he’ll clear it up later.
Gene says that the matter involves him so Nubsib should tell him now.
Nubsib says he doesn’t care about the issue, he’s just worried about Gene.
Gene tells Nubsib that he doesn’t like calling him Nong, right? Well, Gene doesn’t like being treated like a kid.
Nubsib tells Gene that Aey is interested in him.
Tum interrupts them and says he’s been looking for them everywhere.
Tum asks about the party later that night and Gene says that he’s still sleepy. He struggles to keep his face and tone calm even though he’s kind of freaking out.
Nubsib tells Gene he can’t go to the after party and tells him to go back to his room and wait for him. He’ll meet him and they’ll talk about all of this later.

Dubious Representation (P.4, Final)
Title: Dubious Representation (Part Four, Final) Summary: Fem!Reader x soft Dark!Hank Palmer. Reader’s husband is facing jail time and although Hank Palmer entered the counsel for pro bono, he is still going to get a form of payment. Recently single, he’s been lonely and he’s looking for some comfort. Even if it means obtaining it from less than savory means. Words: 3,110 Warnings (for entire fic): Eventual smut, sexual coercion, infidelity, mention of past domestic violence, verbal abuse
Part Three || Masterpost (mobile) || Fanfic masterpost
Hank came downstairs, buttoning up his dress shirt. You looked over your shoulder from where you were making breakfast, something you had gotten accustomed to when you stayed over. It was relaxing. He was right about one thing; you did love to cook. And it was nice you had someone who actually seemed to appreciate it rather than taking it for granted. Not to mention, his kitchen was top notch, and his fridge was always stocked cause he gave you the money to do so.
He caused you to pause for a second as he grabbed your shoulders to hold you while he kissed your temple.
“Morning, doll,” he spoke against your skin before he pulled away. “Did you sleep well?”
“Mhm.” You always did on his expensive mattress. Especially after he wore you out.
You finished up and made up two plates. Turning around you found him at the island, clicking away on his phone. You placed his plate in front of him, him thanking you, and slid onto the stool next to him.
He swore under his breath and tossed his phone down before he started eating.
“What’s wrong?” you asked.
“Lisa is being a bitch as usual.” He held a lot of contempt for his ex-wife.
“I’m sorry.”
“Nothing for you to be sorry about.” He took another bite and eyed you. “I’ve got Lauren this weekend again.”
You made sure you were away when she was there. He never made you feel like you had to be but the few weekends he had with her since you had started seeing him, you made yourself scarce.
“Good. You haven’t seen her in a while,” you told him, and you meant it. It had been a couple weeks. “I need to clean my apartment too, so this is good.”
“You don’t gotta go home.”
You shot him a look at that and saw he was staring at you with purpose. You swallowed your bite and forced a shrug. “It’s okay. It’s good you guys have time alone together.”
“We don’t have to always be alone together,” Hank said, taking another bite. He shrugged in turn now, fixing you with another intense look. “I’ve thought about you moving in.”
That was unexpected. And all you could muster was, “Oh.”
“‘Oh’ what?” He sounded like he was going to get on a combative route.
You rested your hand on the counter, meeting his eyes. “That… I don’t think that’s a good idea.”
“Why not? Explain it to me.”
You blinked. How did you explain how wrong you felt about falling into another man’s bed so soon? The same day Rich had left, you were back with Hank. Not that you had not slept with him before then but… and how guilty you felt about your feelings for him? His relationship had already been done and had been for a while. You were moving on without a consensual party who had no idea what was happening outside their jail cell. No matter how free you felt since you were not afraid of what kind of mood Rich was going to be in when you got home, there was still history.
“It seems too quick.”
“It’s been six months.” Hank grabbed the jug of iced tea you had placed on the counter and began pouring you and him glasses.
“A lot of people would say too quick.”
“Rich is refusing to see you when you have gone to visit. I don’t think it’s quick enough we make this more serious.”
He sounded bitter about the Rich comment. When you had told him you were going to visit Rich in prison the first time, Hank had been frigid. And then the next two times, he was still bristled. And he had had a “told you so” attitude about it when you came back mopey because he was right about that: Rich refused to see you. He would walk in and see it was you at the table and turn around and walk back through the door.
“Don’t you think?” Hank continued as he finished pouring the iced tea. “You are already sleeping here half the week. It’s a waste of money for you to keep the apartment.”
You chewed on your bottom lip. The apartment was yours now. Something you had not had to yourself for years. But you felt more comfortable here.
“I guess when you put it that way,” you said.
He saw your resolve crumbling and he capitalized, leaning on his arm to come closer to you. “Then what’s the issue?”
“My apartment—"
“You know. I brought it up to come to the point to just tell you: Don’t worry about it. I’ve already contacted your building manager about paying off the rest of the lease. You had only four more months left so that wasn’t a huge expense. You need to sign the paperwork though.”
“Hank!”
“What?”
“You didn’t even ask me. And they just spoke to you about my lease when you’re not even on it?”
Hank waved you off, “You’re getting distracted. Did you wanna keep living there with no AC in the summer and then shitty heating in the winter? And that carpet was atrocious in the halls. Do you not like my house?”
“I like it. A lot.”
“Then again, let me ask, what’s the issue?” You had nothing to say, and he grasped your hand. “Doll, all you need to do is go pack up the things you want to bring here — I’ll get you boxes — and then the rest of it we can send to the thrift shop. AND—" he rose his voice as soon as he saw you were going to protest, and you closed your mouth. “The other stuff — you know things of his — we can ship to his next of kin.”
“His parents.”
“Good. They can inherit it. Just like they’ll inherit him when he’s out.”
You let that sink in for a couple moments before you realized a way out of being here while Lauren was here. “Well, then I should go to my apartment this weekend to do that…”
Hank looked impressed for a split second before he agreed, “I suppose so. But I want you available on Saturday morning. You don’t have to stay here but we are going to the botanical gardens and then getting lunch. I want you there. Is that fair?”
It was a type of compromise, a rarity.
“Yes.”
He had still gotten his way. As usual.
<><><>
Lauren was a sweet girl, eleven years old. She was headstrong just like Hank, and you had to smile watching them go back and forth about their opinions. She was going to be a force to be reckoned with.
When she got you alone for a moment, she was watching you closely.
“What’s up?” you asked, trying to hide your unease.
“I told my dad that daddies don’t get lonely when he asked me who I wanted to live with when they were getting divorced.”
“Oh?”
“Yeah. They move on quick.” Your stomach clenched, worried where this conversation was going. “But my mom was dating someone before he was. Like almost immediately. It’s just weird. But I’m glad he has someone now.”
You relaxed and nodded before you told her, “Me too. He makes me happy.”
<><><>
A week and a half later, there was a voicemail on your cell phone. You did not recognize the number.
You pressed on it and your blood chilled hearing Rich’s voice.
“Y/N, what the fuck is this about all these boxes of my shit showing up at my parent’s house? You know they don’t have the space in their two bedroom. And what the fuck are you sending it away for in the first place? If you’re even thinking about kicking me out, you’ve got another thing coming, you little bitch. Do you understand me? Moving on like a fucking hussy now that I’m in here and you’ve got space in the bed? I know you’re helpless when it comes to providing for yourself but if you think I’m gonna let it slide that you are spreading your legs for some other fucking guy cause you can’t hack it on your own, you are sorely mistaken! I—”
The voicemail cut off. He must have run out of time.
Your lip was warbling as you stared down at your phone.
“What is it?”
Hank’s voice startled you. He was rubbing his hair with a towel, another one wrapped around his waist, straight from the shower.
“Nothing,” you said wiping at your eyes.
Hank’s arm dropped from his head, and he stalked over. He reached his hand out, gesturing for you to hand over your phone. He did not buy it when you said nothing. You slowly relented and he took it from you. Pressing play, he replayed the button and you flinched, the words hurting just as much if not more than the first time you heard them.
Snorting, Hank deleted the message. “Fuck him. And his condescension. You’re doing what’s best for you, and you are hacking it on your own. I say it’s about time you got a new number, Hmm? To avoid that bullshit.” Your lips parted in surprise, and he held your phone back out to you. You took it as he said, “I’ll add you to my plan, baby. We can go tomorrow. I don’t have meetings in the afternoon.”
With that, he turned and walked back towards the bathroom. He had not waited for you to respond.
<><><>
As soon as you were two weeks late, Hank brought home a test. He had stopped using condoms months ago when things had progressed. That same night, he had taken you out to a fancy restaurant to celebrate. He had taken you there before and you had adored it. That time though it was like a fog was clouding the room. You were happy, you had wanted to be a mother, and he was happy. But you were still married.
Hank had obviously been thinking about that too because a couple days later, he brought it up bluntly as he was watering his flowers.
“You should get a divorce.”
Pushing your sunglasses up, you stared at him in shock. You were reclining on a lawn chair, reading a magazine.
When you did not respond, he looked over his shoulder. You knew this conversation was coming but the knowledge of that did nothing to soften the blow.
“That seems heartless.”
“What? Fully leaving? Or are you telling me you’re planning to go back to him?” He was using that challenging tone.
“No!” you blurted. “That’s not what I’m saying.”
He turned the hose off and dropped it turning to face you.
“Y/N, he’s been in jail for over a year. You’ve already sent his shit away, he’s gotten mad about it, you don’t know if his family cares cause you aren’t at the apartment, you’re living with me. And you’re not at your old job. So, they can’t find you there. And you got a new number so no one can contact you. I think the writing has been on the wall where this is going. So what’s with dragging your feet?”
“It’s… hard.”
“A lot of things are hard, but we deal with them. Look, you’ll feel better once it’s over and done with and so will I. I don’t like knowing you’re still legally tied to that bastard. Can you understand that? Not just as the man you’re with but from an attorney’s viewpoint. It’s not good news. I’d sleep easier at night knowing he’s not gonna try to pull some shit.”
“Isn’t that a conflict of interest if you initiate and oversee this?”
Hank gave a brief chuckle, “No. I’m allowed to represent blood family even. I’m supposed to be unbiased of course but it’s legal to do it. I’m allowed to represent anyone.” He came closer, looking down at you on the chair. “And honestly, if I have it under my belt I represented him — that is if the bastard decides to take it to court, which I’m doubtful he will — and ‘saw the errors of my choice’ and now I’m trying to help you out, that’ll help in court.” He saw the look on your face and shrugged sheepishly. “I don’t mean to be insensitive but that’s how juries are swayed. Sob stories. And I could hit that shit out of the park.”
Swallowing, you contemplated. You had been thinking about divorce for a while. Even more so now that you knew you were carrying Hank’s baby.
You had taken too long to respond again, and Hank added, “Free of charge for you of course.”
You gave a small smile and said, “Hank… yeah, fine. I know.”
“‘Fine’? ‘You know’? Doll, you know I like you to elaborate your firm feelings.”
“I’ve been thinking about it. And I need to take a plunge. I wanna be invested in us. Fully.”
Hank nodded, “That’s better.” He nodded once more. “I’ll get them drafted up tomorrow.”
“Tomorrow is Sunday.”
“And?”
“Don’t you wanna enjoy the weekend?”
Hank simpered, “What’s a weekend?”
<><><>
Hank strolled past the security gate and swooped his briefcase up. The visiting room in the prison was bare and beat up. He was seated at the table, waiting, reading emails. As soon as the prisoners were trickling into the room, he kept an eye on the door.
The moment Rich walked in, he hesitated seeing Hank. Unlike with Y/N, he ventured into the room and pulled the chair back, sitting across the table from Hank.
“Surprised you haven’t found yourself in max yet. I was expecting to talk to you through glass. Whatever works though,” Hank clipped, sitting up straight.
“What are you doing here?” Rich asked, his tone tight. He ignored Hank’s jab.
“Thought you’d never ask,” Hank said, opening his briefcase and pulling out the pile of papers. He tossed them onto the table and leaned back, waiting for Rich to respond.
Rich stared at them for a few moments and shrugged, “What are these? Early release? I thought I made it clear I didn’t want you representing me anymore.”
“Ah, no,” Hank laughed. He was unable to hold it back. “Divorce papers actually. And I’m not representing you. I’m representing Y/N.”
Rich’s face darkened and he snapped, “What?”
“She’s divorcing you now that she’s not afraid you’re gonna bash her in with a monkey wrench. You’re right here, my man. And she’s free out there.” He leaned in closer and said, “Seriously, you fucking up the way you did worked out best for everyone. She’s positively glowing.” He tapped the papers and said, “So, it’s all in here. Just need you to read it over, get your signature, and it’ll be solid.”
Rich was staring harshly at Hank and Hank could pinpoint the moment the realization washed over him. He looked murderous. “You.”
“Yeah, me.”
“You son of a bitch. Just swooping in when you saw weakness,” Rich growled, slamming his hand on the table. The guards took notice and he immediately reeled it in, much to Hank’s amusement who had not even flinched. Through gritted teeth, Rich vowed, “You’re not going to get away with this. She’s my wife—"
“Yeah, a wife you have refused to see for over a year because what? You’re mad you had to come to her rescue because you were rolling too hard to pay proper attention as she almost got assaulted? Great. Husband of the year award right for you. I’ll make sure it’s delivered.”
“I’m not going to roll over on this!”
Hank waved him off, quipping. “Take it to court then. We know how well that worked out for you last time.” He smiled cruelly, “Do you understand how even more easy it would be for me this time to get them to turn against you than the DA did last time? I could easily paint myself as the white knight and yeah, sure, you would get a day out of the prison to come to court, which might seem worth it to you, but it is worth the cost for good representation? I don’t think so. You will get the floor mopped with you and the end result would be the same.”
Rich looked furious and Hank threw his hands out. “Think about it this way. Once you’re out, you can find another woman who was just as naïve and young as Y/N and do what you will. It’s wiping the slate clean for you, fresh start. Plus, Y/N’s already pregnant, so she’s pretty settled in already with me. Don’t wanna go messing that up cause trust me, motherfucker, I will make that hell for you. I’ve got the resources to do so. And man, do I have a vendetta against your ass. So, do you really want to try me?” If Rich could look more furious. His fists were clenched on the table, shaking, but he was keeping himself from lunging across the table. Hank was even impressed; the bastard really did not want to go to max.
Clearing his throat, Hank leaned over and grabbed his briefcase, standing up. “Anyways, you can wipe your ass with that if you want, but it’s still going to go forward. And I have more copies. Just let me know what you wanna do.” He pulled a business card out of his pocket and carelessly tossed it onto the table. “In case you forgot my number, champ.”
<><><>
Hank came up behind you and kissed at the nape of your neck. “You didn’t need to do this.”
“You weren’t home when you normally do it,” you told him, running the water from the hose over the hydrangeas that he cherished so much.
“I’m only thirty minutes late,” Hank chuckled.
“But you are particular.”
“That I am,” he breathed, kissing you again on your shoulder. He nuzzled in and nipped at your ear, drawing a smile out of you. “I got the papers back today.”
That caused you to stall, your hand dropping every so slightly, the water not arching as high. It had been a couple weeks since Hank had gone to the prison and all he had told you was that he had left the papers with Rich. You had not heard anything since. Hearing that he had actually sent them back signed…
He noticed your demeanor and his hands came around you, coming to your stomach. He held you protectively there and breathed reassuringly, “Looks like our family is going to be okay.”

Hello y’all! It’s time for another unrequested review of the lastest episode of American Housewife, their 100th episode “Getting Frank with the Ottos”. Sorry that it took me so long to post, I had a lot on my mind and I was trying to put my thoughts in order, still I think I didn’t do a great job, lol.
Before I start, I’d like to say that I freaking loved this episode, it felt like the show went back to what it was before they had to make so many changes due to Covid restrictions and safety measures. What I’ve always loved about the series is, besides Cooliver obviously, the family dynamics between the Ottos. There were always so many great scenes with all the Ottos in the same room, or the Otto kids misbehaving. I think that not being able to have all the actors together at the same time, was what really affected the show. It felt weird Anna-Kat not having any scene with her siblings, or the three of them listening to Katie going off about whatever she was pissed at the moment. Obviously two actresses leaving the show, Doris always on video call, new characters added and old ones not appearing anymore (I need freaking Chloe Brown Muller, Suzanne and Tara Summers back! They were part of Katie’s plot) hit them hard too. So, last episode having all the Ottos plus Cooper, Franklin and Kathryn together was exactly what they and we needed.
There was too much going on this episode, I totally get Daniel finding it hard to live tweet. 😂
Will Greg win city council elections? I think it would be good for him to have a win this season. He’s the best dad and he deserves the best. I thought Principal Ablin’s add was so funny. His family being in Westport for 2000 years? LOL. And Cooper actually believing this. Franklin didn’t hold back with Greg. “Why do you completely lack any sort of backbone?” DAMN! I don’t think Greg let’s people walk over him. He just have a zero conflictive personality. But when he needs to defend himself or his family, he sure does. I liked that he brought Lonnie back, I enjoy his character a lot. And they shootin paintballs at Cooper and Oliver was hilarious.
Anna-Kat had a lot of fun moments. She is super supportive and proud of her boyfriend. And she trying to join the cheerleaders was a huge development for her. I love that Giselle portrays a more mature version of Anna-Kat. I am glad that she and Franklin confronted Katie and Kathryn about their quitter attitude. Of course she was going to be super defensive of Trip, he’s been great with her, I love all their scenes together. She was really mad when she saw Taylor obviously flirting with her TA. Her lines this episode were really funny. “That’s all you’re gonna say to this cheating harlot?’ “What I am trying to say is, you a ho’! Was that modern enough for you?’ LOL she was super angry at Taylor.
I am glad that Katie had the chance to talk about old issues with Kathryin. I understand she was trying to protect Anna-Kat from the dissapointment of not getting in the cheer squad, but still not reason to discourage her. I loved that Kathryn is back, she’s one of my favorite characters always given the best most inappropriate advice to the kids. And her step mother was hilarious “get the fuck over it!” LOL. It was great that they had Katie’s inner monologue back.
While I agree that maybe Taylor and Trip need time to reevaluate their relationship and Taylor feeling like she might have outgrown him, I don’t like the fact that one of the biggest reasons she is feeling like this is because of her feelings for Andre, or any other dude. I think since last season she began questioning her future with Trip, when she wanted to go to Carnegie Mellon (what happened to that plot, though? Why hasn’t it been brought up again?). So she’d find herself at this crossroad eventually. I don’t want them to break up though, Trip is an amazing guy, he is sweet and cares a lot about Taylor and her whole family. He has been an amazing friend to Anna-Kat. Maybe they’ll break up and get back together in the future. He needs to be in that family photo in ten years! Kathryn’s adviced was sooo funny lol, one of the best lines of the episode. “Honey you never quit a job until you’re sure you’ve got another one. Unless you’re willing to hold down to jobs at once” lol 😂😅. Franklin was clearly biased when interviewing her lol.
Franklin was a savage with the Ottos. I am pretty sure Westport Fire Department got a few calls from their neighbors for all the smoke that was coming out of their house after he roasted them. It was so funny how after Cooper and Oliver left Greg’s office upset, Katie and Taylor were a little bit scared of going in.
And what all y’all really want: COOLIVER. Bear with me because I have A LOT to say.
This episode was huge for them, and for us. Starting with Cooper cooking breakfast for Katie, and she being super appreciative. Huevos Ottos lol. Oliver was so excited telling Katie about the app and their plans for Harvard and she barely paid him any attention, Katie don’t be mean. Franklin had no business being that rude to Cooper. I loved how Oliver and Cooper were really happy at the beginning of their interview, finishing each other’s sandwiches sentences and being extra boyfriendish. “You two have what’s called a boy and his dog relationship” “This one follows you around like a lost puppy” “Oliver, you go first. Cooper will follow” he completely roasted poor Cooper 😢. Franklin saying that he follows Anna-Kat because she’s his girlfriend was like, and what do you think it’s happening between these two idiots, Franklin? They missed a huge chance here. 🙄 And of course the HIGHLIGHT of the entire series. Oliver calling Cooper and himself “Cooliver” OMFG! What a time to be alive! 🥰. And was Trevor actually being his own version of nice to Cooper? Glad that Cooper stood for himself this time. And damn, Oliver smiling so proud and in love when Cooper was being praised for his food. And it was pretty lazy writing that Gifty suggested for Cooper exactly the same gift than it did to Oliver. Like, even I am pretty sure Cooper doesn’t follow, like or shares the same content Oliver does. 🤔 It only made them fight and kinda put Oliver in a bad light. Which he didn’t deserve. For someone who doesn’t care at all about other people’s feelings, the fact that Trevor thought Oliver and Cooper were dating, says a lot about their relationship and how other people perceive them. And the biggest character development we got so far this season is Oliver not getting triggered by someone saying that Cooper and him are boyfriends 🤣🤣🤣. Oliver looked so worried after their fight. 😢. It was very sweet and extremely boyfriendish that Oliver got Cooper a gift, and it was obviously custom made. “King of La Cocina”. Cooper looked so happy! 🥰 Oliver called himself Cooper’s boy again. He has done it twice already! And Cooper has called him “my guy”. They both know who Oliver belongs to. Can they be more in love and at the same time so oblivious? And of course Oliver would be supportive of Cooper’s dream, he loves him that much. Cooper looked for culinary schools near Harvard so they can still live together. They are going to spend their live together. If they are just “best friends” why can’t they bear the thought of being apart? These boys are dense. 🙄. I was really hoping that Kathryn would say something to Oliver, in her usual style, about Cooper. I love how Cooper is now cooking for his in laws, I mean the Ottos... 😜 I really loved this episode Cooliver’s scenes. However, I still have some issues with how the writers handled some of the situations.
Where do I start?
Will they ever give Oliver a dream that’s not shallow? I mean, being rich or becoming rich, going to Harvard and then opening a whatever the hell is a boutique hedge fund (I do know now what it is, I had to google it, lol), it seems so insignificant, I don’t know if that’s the right word for what I am trying to say, but is his only goal in life just that? I know that when the series started, Oliver wanted nothing more than becoming so rich he could buy whatever the hell he wanted. But he has grown so much since then. He has a rich not-boyfriend, who always reminds him that being rich is not the same as being happy, who reminds him that he has a family that loves him, that supports him, that cares for him. He has seen first hand what money does to people, Spencer was a lonely man at the end of his days. He has find joy and fulfillment if you will, in helping people. How can his dream still be the dream of a 12 year old child? Oliver deserves better than that. I am not saying they should suddenly make him want to be an astronaut or a doctor or a teacher. He can still be rich, but do something good or meaningful along the way. This kid has a good heart, the writers need to realize that and make something good with him.
I hated how they made Cooper and Oliver fight, and kinda blame Oliver for something that he wasn’t really to blame for. He never forced Cooper to do anything he didn’t want to. He never manipulated him or dismissed him. Maybe I am reading to much into it. But it felt like that was what they were implying. Cooper choosing to follow Oliver wherever, is something that he’s been doing or willing to do since season 3. He told Oliver he’d go with him to that dance boarding school just because he wanted to be with him. He wanted to go to Harvard to be with Oliver. He didn’t care or worried about his future career, because he believed he didn’t need to. He was already rich, and whatever their parents company or business is, it would still be there providing for him. His only constant dream, want, desire or whatever you want to call it, was being with Oliver. He took a fucking plane just to reconcile with Oliver after their stupid fight. Oliver never told him to go with him, but he was happy having him by his side. In a way, I think Oliver’s only crime was being so happy with Cooper’s company and the promise of sharing a future together, that he never stopped and asked himself and Cooper, if Cooper actually wanted that. Cooper saying that he had enough doing only what Oliver wanted was so uncalled for. Because we’ve seen multiple times that Cooper does what he wants. He gets what he wants. He doesn’t just blindly follow Oliver. Frequently, he’s the one making decisions for the both of them. Or the one who comes up with a plan.
What really changed this season, and I actually loved this, is that Cooper stepped out of his comfortable, full of distractions life, that for once he began to feel that he was lacking something. Living with the Ottos, away from his many staff members, his fancy toys and cars, his exotic pets (he once said he had a zebra), from all those things in his mansion that kept him busy and distracted, he had time to do some introspection. When Cooper was feeling that Oliver wasn’t spending enough time with him, and being jealous of Trevor, and most of the fandom quickly blame Oliver and said that he was taking Cooper for granted (something that I don’t really agree with) we were missing the bigger picture here. It wasn’t that Oliver was being a bad friend. If you think about it, Oliver was just living his life and doing the same stuff he usually did. If he had been doing ballet instead of working with Trevor, Cooper would’ve still felt left out. Because it was Cooper who no longer had something to fill his days with. I am not saying that Oliver couldn’t have been more understanding or attentive to Cooper’s feelings. But it goes both ways, I think. They missed a huge oportunity this episode, not only to make them canon, or at least, becoming aware of their feelings. But to explore their relationship. Instead of fighting after Franklin brutal but eye opening assesment, lol. They should’ve had a heart to heart conversation, Oliver could’ve asked Cooper if he actually wanted to go to Harvard. And Cooper should’ve started asking himself why is he so willing to go whetever Oliver goes? Why are they planning on building a future together to the extent they do? Why are they picturing a life together if they are just friends? C’mon! We saw how worried Oliver was when Cooper was feeling like he didn’t have a purpose, how supportive he was when Cooper was exploring stuff to find out what he was good at or passionate about. After their fight, Oliver was so preoccupied, he got Cooper a present that he’d love, to show him that he understands him, that he supports him, that he encourages him to follow his dreams, and that he loves him. So how can you tell me that he didn’t care about Cooper enough to ask him what he wanted to do with his life after what Franklin told them. At least they showed us that Oliver realized that he was so focused on getting into Harvard that he simply assumed Cooper wanted the same, which it seemed he did. Because he never said otherwise. These boys are dumb, really 🙄 (I might’ve lost my point here, lol 😂)
And they keep teasing us! They really need to stop with the gay jokes if they won’t make Cooliver canon. Like I’ve said before, is not cool. And being lgbtq+ is not a joke... I love a good slow-burn romance, I do. But they need to give us something more than just a joke. Or stop already.
Anyway, I think this post is already long enough, lol. And I rambled a lot, sorry again. I did enjoyed this episode, despite what my complaining might suggest. And I love American Housewife, even if I only started watching a few months ago, it came into my life when I was feeling kinda down, and maybe that’s why I hold it close to my heart and love the Ottos so much. I am hoping they get a new season, and as many more as they can get. Let’s hope they do!

Karma’s Backstory HC
So your homeboy doesn’t really have much of one to be honest. Breaking down what we do know:
His parents are wealth day traders
He’s left home alone most of the time
They’re really into India
They’re free spirits who care more about whims than responsibility
Now, just a prewarning that literally none of what I’m about to say after this is canon. This is just the ideas I’ve developed over the years of having to come up with stuff for fics, and it’s the narrative I use for canon based fics. That being said, anyone who has a hard time coming up with this stuff is totally free to use it however they want! It’s weirdly in depth, I will say.
Karma’s father comes from Hokkaido (the northern island of Japan - famous for farming and lots of snow), mostly because I really like Hokkaido, but there’s definitely this countryside kind of reputation that comes with it.
His family is very much one of those generational farmer families who don’t feel the need to leave their community. He has three sisters, but he’s the only son. He went to Sapporo for university which was a shock to the family.
Kind of a Japanese cultural no no to be honest.
During his time at university, studying business, he decided to travel Asia a bit, eventually meeting his future wife (who is also Japanese, as fun as Karma being mixed headcanons are to me) on some kind of trip. They’re around the same age, maybe give or take a year or two.
The two of them ended up falling for each other very fast, the whole ‘if you know you know’ thing.
Her family are from Nagoya, just normal business people with nothing special about them. She’s an only child and they always had this view that she’d marry into a nice stable life.
They get married pretty much as soon as he graduates, moving to be close to Tokyo since it was the best option for their jobs. Neither of their families is happy about this, but they don’t really care.
Karma comes along pretty soon after, before they’ve really had a chance to settle into their lives together. They’re caught up in the whirlwind of their romance, soon, so they think having a baby is a great idea.
Pretty soon, the itch of staying too long in one place starts to set in. Furthermore, the reality of a kid is very different to the fantasy. I think Karma probably cried a lot, even as a baby quickly figuring out the way to get attention. Karma’s mother doesn’t give up work, either, so managing everything starts to get stressful.
After maybe a year of stability, they decide instead to just go back to the people they really are, moving around wherever the work takes them. Even as a toddler now, Karma starts to really get attached to things he has, because without much of a permanent home he doesn’t get to own a whole bunch of toys etc.
When they’re not travelling for work, they’re travelling abroad. Actually, I think they took Karma with them a lot when he was old enough to have some kind of awareness of what’s happening around him. He really enjoyed those times, but he didn’t have a new normal yet. This fit in with their cute life vision, at the time.
I picture them being Hindus, but not very strictly? Japanese attitudes towards religion are a fascinating subject honestly, but the long and short of it is that strictly following one down to the ‘rules’ isn’t that common. I think they’d like it more for aesthetic reasons than actually believing in it.
Controversial, but I actually think Karma was genuinely a pretty sweet and quiet kid. Due to moving so much, he never really got to settle in anywhere and make friends, so his social skills are lacking when it comes to people his age.
Around that age, his parents teach him stuff that’s not so appropriate for a child, such as how to manipulate people into doing business deals with you, the value of money etc.
However, once again they started to get a little tried with him. Karma’s a really curious kid, which leads him into running off and not always doing what his parents want him to, asking questions about things to the point it gets irritating to them. They feel like he’s now holding them back. So, increasingly, they reach out to neighbours they have at the time, asking them to watch after Karma when they go on these trips together.
Karma starts to develop this really bad separation anxiety, like he doesn’t understand what’s happening when they’re suddenly leaving him. He gets the idea to start lashing out at whoever’s meant to be looking after him, in the hopes that they’ll be forced to come back. Most of the time, they don’t have a choice.
Karma begins to resent his parents, and they begin to resent him further for misbehaving.
Since this is some kind of solution to him now, he applies it to his school life. At this point it’s the age where kids really know how to pick on people and target. Karma shuts that down quickly, by fighting his way out of it.
Since he ends up getting suspended a lot, he has free time to learn ahead of school. He genuinely likes that part of school, but it’s just the everything else he doesn’t.
He’s actually very passionate about the things he enjoys, but he’s learnt that expressing it at school would get him teased, and his parents don’t care at all. It’s rare even as he goes into canon and beyond, then, that he expresses his more fanboy sides.
Even when his parents are in the country, they find it suitable around the age of 7 or so to let Karma be in the house alone whilst they work for long hours. As such, he gets really into watching movies as a distraction.
They don’t hate Karma by any means, they definitely ‘love’ him in a way, though it’s not the same kind of parental love most people receive. They try to placate him with gifts, when they leave the country, but Karma doesn’t easily just forgive and forget. After a time he just asks them to bring him spices, in a sort of self protest of not wanting their gifts. Those spices become his prized possession.
By about 10, Karma stops fighting it. He locks his feelings about them away and accepts that nothing he does will make his parents stay. Whilst he doesn’t purposely act out to get attention, acting out at this point has morphed into a normal part of his personality.
There’s been nobody to teach him right from wrong, so he’s left to make mostly his own decisions about it.
When he’s approaching eleven, and his parents are just the slightest bit more responsible, and decide that in the effort of not messing up their son’s entire education, they’re going to buy a house and make it a permanent home until he at least graduates junior high.
Did I say responsible? Because that also comes with the decision that he’s old enough to be left at home alone. At first it’s only for a night or two, but it slowly becomes weeks and months at a time, until Karma’s practically living alone with barely even a phone call from them.
Karma’s actually really lonely, though he shrugs it off and perfects his act of being unbothered. He misses them, but he shoves that embarrassing feeling right down and ignores it.
Since he has to, Karma learns how to cook, along with general domestic stuff such as shopping for a reasonable budget and
His parents send a ridiculous allowance, though, which he doesn’t like to touch much of if he can help it.
He also booby traps his bedroom, and other areas of the house. Just in case.
Nagisa’s his first genuine friend.
It’s not until 3E where he finally develops healthy bonds with multiple people, and really learns that it’s okay to trust.
Wow that got long. As I said, I have thought about this a lot. I feel like it would explain why Karma is the way he is. Honestly, it’s a bit depressing too. I just don’t see Karma’s parents being Good People.

dress you up, dress you down ch.1 - dress you up
aka the Tie Fic. Also on Ao3
00000
“So. Davey.”
Davey pauses mid-sip. He looks at Katherine, then down at the cup of coffee in his hand—it’s the expensive kind, the kind that comes with milk and sugar, the kind that Davey would never dare buy for himself—then back up at Katherine, and realizes that he’s been tricked.
He sets his cup down with a heavy sigh. “What is it?”
To her credit, Katherine doesn’t even pretend to misunderstand. “Jack needs new clothes.”
Davey’s eyebrows shoot up.
“Okay...” he says after a moment of consideration. “Why does Jack need new clothes? We got him that art smock so he’d stop getting paint on his selling shirts and I haven’t noticed any rips or tears—“
“No, not his selling clothes,” Katherine interrupts. “I want to get him a few outfits that he can wear for his shifts in the art department. He keeps coming in wearing his Newsies cap and he showed up at my father’s office on Friday with a piece of tie-line holding his pants up instead of a belt.”
“He didn’t,” Davey says, though he doesn’t find it at all hard to believe, torn between laughter and exasperation.
“He really did,” Katherine says, the corners of her eyes crinkling up in amusement. “I’m sure a lot of it is just impertinence for impertinence’s sake—understandable after all that’s happened—and god knows it’s good to have someone around that won’t jump at my father’s every beck and call, but Davey,“ Katherine leans forward, her expression turning serious, “you get why things can’t continue on this way, don’t you?”
Davey takes a long drink of his coffee to give his thoughts a chance to settle. Because the thing is, Davey absolutely understands Katherine’s concern.
Jack’s new position at The World is a fantastic opportunity, especially for someone who wasn’t born with the privileges of a full education, a comfortable home, or family connections to ease his way in life. This job might just be a weekly political cartoon, but it has the potential to one day be so much more: the start of a life-long career, where Jack can do something he loves and get paid a fair wage to do it.
Jack’s hard working and smart and so incredibly talented, but he’s also stubborn as a mule and dead set against submitting to any kind of authority, even over something as simple as an office dress code. Pulitzer and the other managers in the art department might be willing to look over Jack’s apparel for now, but not forever—the last thing Davey wants is for Jack to get passed up for promotions, raises, and projects because he can’t dress the part.
“Yeah,” Davey finally says. “I get it. It’s a good idea, Kath.”
“Great!” Katherine exclaims. “So now we just have to convince Jack to let us pick out some business casual clothes for him; I was thinking we could spend tomorrow uptown, my tailor will be able to see us right away, I’m sure, and we can get Jack’s measurements taken and have him fitted for a few—“
“Wait, hold on,” Davey says, suddenly wrong-footed. “How did I become involved in this? It’s your idea!”
“But it’ll be easier to convince him if he hears it from both of us,” Katherine says. She’s hitting him with the wide-eyed, pouty, please-Davey-do-this-favor-for-me face. Joke’s on her: if Les and Sarah hadn’t already indoctrinated him against that face years ago, the last couple of months spent as the lone voice of reason amongst the chaos that is the Lower Manhattan Newsies would’ve done the trick. “And it would be helpful to have your opinion when he starts trying things on.”
“You mean, it’ll be helpful to have me there to take the fall if Jack hates the idea,” Davey says.
“Oh, sure, like Jack’s gonna be angry with you,” Katherine says, rolling her eyes.
Davey patently ignores this comment. “I mean, you clearly have a handle on the situation,” he continues, fingers drumming against the rim of his coffee cup. “I’m sure you don’t really need me to—“
“If you come with me to pitch this to Jack, I’ll make sure he leaves with a new set of suspenders,” Katherine says.
Davey blinks, his protests thoroughly derailed. Katherine knows him too well.
“I hate you,” he says, blowing out a breath. “Fine, I’ll go. But I’m telling you now, Jack’s not gonna be happy about this.”
“All we have to do is present a united front,” Katherine states with incredible confidence. “He can’t argue if it’s both of us.”
“No. Hell no,” Jack says when they approach him the next day. The two of them have been talking for all of five minutes and Katherine and Jack both look ready to throw punches. Davey’s relatively sure it won’t come to that, though honestly, his money’s on Katherine if it does.
“Jack, would you please just—“ Katherine gets out through clenched teeth.
“I said no, Kath! How many more times do you wanna hear it? No!”
Katherine throws Davey an exasperated look—one that says ‘for the love of God, talk some sense into him.’
“Jack,” Davey starts, taking a step closer to him. “I think you should let Kathy take you shopping for some new clothes.”
Jack whirls around to face him, his eyes dark with irritation. “Dave, just ‘cause  I’m workin’ a desk gig don’t mean I need some fancy geddup to do my damn job—“
“Jack, no one’s saying you need to start showing up to The World dressed to the nines,” Davey says, “but don’t you think having a nice set of office clothes would get the other workers to treat you with more respect?”
“I shouldn’t hafta dress a certain way to get treated decent,” Jack says, and he still looks upset but he’s starting to settle down. “Havin’ money don’t make ya a better worker and being poor don’t make me an idiot.”
“You think I don’t know that?” Davey asks, running a hand soothingly along Jack’s shoulders until the tension there eases. “I’m not saying it’s fair, of course it’s not fair—but stuff like this never is. It’s about knowing the game and learning how to play it. Katherine and I just want to make sure you got a decent shot at it.”
Jack holds Davey’s gaze for a long moment, then the last of the fight drains out of him.
“Fine,” he huffs. “What exactly did the two of ya have in mind?”
00000
Katherine doesn’t give Jack the opportunity to reconsider. She drags them uptown to a little tailor’s shop with a neat, simple storefront, but whose glossy windows and brass finishes make it clear that this is a place that caters to the upper class.
The bell above the doorway chimes gently as they enter. The young woman behind the counter looks up from where she’s taking inventory and greets them with a smile; a moment later an older gentleman with a head of salt and pepper hair comes out of a back room, his arms open wide in welcome.
“Miss Katherine,” he exclaims, taking one of Kathy’s hands in his own and kissing the back of it. “How good it is to see you once more! And you have brought friends!”
“Good morning, Giovanni,” Katherine greets warmly. “This is David and this is Jack. Jack’s the latest hire in the art department—he works on political cartoons.”
“Jack… Kelly?” Giovanni asks. “Yes, I have seen your work! I very much enjoyed the cartoon with the little shoe shiner. Was very funny!”
Jack looks a little caught off guard—like he wants to dislike Giovanni on sheer principle, but is finding it difficult in the face of such an honest compliment.
“Uh... nice to meet ya,” Jack says.
“We’re looking to get Jack fitted for a few things,” Katherine explains. “Business casual, office wear. Do you have time to see us now?”
“Of course, Miss Katherine,” Giovanni says. “We will get this taken care of right away. Abigail!” The girl at the front counter scurries over. “Turn the sign on the door—we have a project and must not be disturbed!”
Giovanni has Jack stand on a small footstool towards the back of the store. He makes a slow circle around him—pulling a tape measure out of one of his apron pockets and whipping it to and fro—eyeing Jack critically and muttering rapidly to Abigail, who trails behind him dutifully taking notes.
For his part, Jack looks deeply uncomfortable with having such careful scrutiny trained on him. Davey tries to seem calm and reassuring but he’s not sure how successful he is: he’s feeling a bit out of his depth as well.
Finally, Giovanni steps back. “This is enough to start with,” he says, nodding decisively.
“What options can we look at right now?” Katherine asks, with a kind of intensity that Davey would be hard pressed to muster up over any clothing, no matter its quality. “Ideally we’d like to leave here with at least one full outfit.”
“We keep a selection of our most popular styles on hand for customers to try on before purchase,” Giovanni offers. “Would you like to begin with those? I can think of several that would flatter the young gentleman.”
Katherine smiles. “That sounds perfect.”
The two of them have a quick conversation about colors and cuts and fabrics that goes over Davey’s head, then Giovanni is bustling Jack into a changing area, his arms weighed down with bolts of cloth and a mouthful of stick pins. In the meantime, Abigail ushers Katherine and Davey over to a pair of cushioned stools set up next to a tri-fold mirror, ostensibly so they’ll have the best view from which to offer commentary and cast judgement.
Or, really, for Katherine to cast judgement. Davey suspects his main job will be mediating when the argument between ‘An Actual Heiress’ Kath and ‘the paint stains on this vest match my hat so it’s fine’ Jack inevitably breaks out.
They’ve not been waiting very long when Jack comes out of the fitting room to model the first outfit. Davey glances over when he hears the rustle of the curtain being pushed back and—
Oh.
Oh.
Jack is wearing a navy blue button down with a pair of dark gray slacks and a matching vest. The colors and cuts aren’t that much different than his usual garb, but the way everything fits makes a whole world of difference. Oh good god, does everything fit.
Davey’s eyes bounce here and there, his brain unable to decide which part of the incredible sight to focus on. There’s the strong line of Jack’s shoulders, which look even broader than usual because of how the vest tapers in at the waist. Or how the fabric of the pants drapes nicely around Jack’s thighs, perfectly highlighting the toned muscle underneath.
Jack looks back to ask Giovanni a question. Davey’s eyes trail up the backs of his legs as he turns, then up over the curve of his ass—
Davey ducks his head to hide his burning face. Oh no.
“That looks great, Giovanni,” Katherine says. “How does it feel, Jack?”
“Like it’s too damn expensive,” Jack mutters. He’s standing strangely: holding his arms out from his sides like he’s trying his hardest not to touch the clothes even as he wears them. “I’m still not convinced that all this is necessary.”
“Do not start with me, Jack Kelly,” Katherine says, one eyebrow lifted. “Now honestly, what do you think?”
“Well... it fits,” Jack says lamely. “That’s all that matters, right?”
“Jack,” Katherine starts with a huff.
“I’m serious!” Jack says defensively. “I’m not tryin’ta get on ya nerves, Kath, but I dunno what else there is to say.”
Katherine considers him for a moment, then sighs, disappointed but accepting the answer. “Davey, what do you think.”
Davey’s throat works. He still sort of feels like someone’s hit him over the head, but he manages to say, “The gray is nice. You can match it with a bunch of different colored shirts.”
“Hmm...” Katherine hums, tilting her head to the side. “Simple, versatile... sure, we can make that work.”
“Versatile?” Jack whispers to Davey.
Davey gets caught between not staring at Jack and trying not to look like he’s avoiding staring at Jack; his gaze lands somewhere around Jack’s left ear. “She means colors like black and gray and navy and brown—stuff that goes with everything.”
“Right, okay,” Jack mutters to himself. “That don’t sound too bad.”
Another quick conversation between Giovanni and Katherine, then Jack’s back in the fitting room to try on a second option. As the curtain pulls shut, Davey feels himself let out a breath he hadn’t realized he was holding.
Katherine glances over at him and says, “Aren’t you glad you agreed to come with us?”
Davey’s blush had been fading, but it flairs up again with a vengeance. “You are the worst person.”
“I am the best person,” Katherine corrects. “I’m the reason you know what Jack looks like in pants that actually fit his waist—“
“Katherine,” Davey hisses, shoulders hunching in embarrassment.
“—and I saw you staring at his biceps. You’re welcome for that, by the way.”
“Katherine, oh my god—!”
Jack comes out again, this time in a black and white ensemble, and still looking far too handsome for someone who’s been safety pinned into his clothes.
“I like this, but it’s a little... plain.” Katherine says, mercifully distracted from tormenting Davey any further.
“And? What’s wrong with plain?” Jack grumbles. He moves as if to cross his arms across his chest, then seems to remember all the sharp pins sitting very close to his skin. He settles for tucking his hands in his pockets. “Plain works just fine for me.”
“It needs something to finish the look,” Kath muses, ignoring Jack completely. She looks at Giovanni and asks, “What sorts of ties do you have?”
“No. Absolutely not. Ya mighta talked me into a coupla shirts but ya ain’t gonna put me in no tie—“
“We have a fine selection, Miss Katherine,” Giovanni responds, joining Katherine in talking over Jack’s protests. “In fact, we just received a variety of silk ties in a number of colors. I will fetch the display—“
Jack’s eyes bug out a little when he hears the work silk, his mouth opening and closing soundlessly; Davey fairs only slightly better. Katherine and Giovanni don’t pay them any mind—examining the assortment of ties, weighing the pros and cons of each one, occasionally holding one up next to Jack’s face and frowning.
After a few more seconds of spluttering, Jack seems to come to terms with the fact that he’s leaving with a tie. He points at the array Giovanni has brought over and says, “What about that blue one?”
“You and your blue,” Katherine mutters, shaking her head. “How about something different for once? This silver one is nice. Or, how about this one, with the stripes—“
“If you’re gonna make me get a tie, you could at least let me pick it out,” Jack grumbles. “I like the blue one.”
“You can’t only wear blue, Jack,” Katherine says, a little testily. “You need to have different options.”
“Don’t seem so important to me,” Jack says with a shrug. “Blue’s a good color: it don’t stain too easy, it’s versatile.” His eyes dart briefly to Davey, and then away again. “And it’s my favorite.”
“Be that as it may, I still think you should choose something else—“
“Jeeze, why does it matter so much—“
“The red one,” Davey blurts out, and given that he hadn’t meant to say anything at all, it comes out much louder than he’d intended it to.
Katherine and Jack halt their bickering and they all turn to look at him. Davey regrets opening his mouth.
He swallows, then awkwardly continues, “You should try the red one. It looks nice—red is a nice color, I mean. You’d look good in it, or it’d look good on you. Either, really, I guess. And, um... yeah.”
“Uh, okay,” Jack says when Davey trails off. “Sure, let’s try the red one.”
Giovanni slips the tie around Jack’s neck and knots it for him with professional ease. Jack flips his collar back down, then tucks the ends hesitantly under his vest. He stares at himself in the mirror, twisting and turning as he checks himself over from all the different angles.
It looks nice. Better than nice, actually. Maybe even incredible. Davey tugs at the collar of his own shirt, suddenly feeling overheated.
“Yeah, that’s the one,” Katherine declares. She’s not even looking at Jack, instead she’s watching Davey for his reaction. She pins him with a knowing smirk, and Davey blushes even harder, privately wishing for a nice, cozy sinkhole to open up beneath him and put him out of his misery.
“I dunno,” Jack murmurs dubiously, not noticing the exchange. “What do you think, Dave? Does it live up to your expectations?”
Davey really wishes Jack would stop asking for his opinion. He already feels like he’s suffocating—Jack could at least do him the courtesy of letting him die unharassed.
“...I think it looks good,” Davey mutters into the floor.
Jack does another turn. “I still think the blue one woulda been nice...”
“Get the tie,” Katherine orders.
“But—“
“Get the tie before I stab you with these fabric scissors.”
Jack ends up leaving with two vest-and-pants combinations, one in black and one in gray, four dress shirts in various colors, the promised suspenders, a new pair of shoes, and the red silk tie. Katherine leaves with an incredibly satisfied expression and Davey leaves with significantly elevated blood pressure.
As they walk back home, Katherine says, “So do you want me to hold on to everything, or do you want Davey to?”
“What?” Jack asks.
“Who do you want to keep your new clothes, me or Davey?” Katherine repeats.
Jack and Davey stare at her, not grasping her meaning.
“You don’t have anywhere to keep them at the Lodging House, and I would say you could see if Medda would let you keep them at the theater but I know they wouldn’t last the day before they were covered in paint,” Katherine explains. “So? Me or Davey?”
“I guess I’ll have Davey keep ‘em for me, if that’s okay,” Jack decides, glancing at Davey for permission. “Probably easier that way.”
“Um, sure, that’s fine,” Davey says, taking the garment bag when Jack hands it to him. “You can get changed at mine, and we can clean and press them for you too.”
“Sounds like a plan,” Jack agrees. “I’ll just pop over before my shift tomorrow, yeah?”
Davey imagines tomorrow, imagines trying to deal with Jack in a suit and tie first thing in the morning, and can feel his expression start to falter. “Sounds good,” he says weakly.

For we rise and we fall, and we crash on the coastlines (Only our love will last 'til the end); Chapter 1
thank you to @drowninginstarlights for editing! Heads up for Travis’ and Gable’s terrible dad’s and mom death!
the journey of a selkie, a cursed fisher, a lighthousekeeper, her aprentice and a very confused mortal as their lives intertwine and the magic around them grows.
or a selkie au with general folklore themes!
In the end, Uriel doesn’t even remember what happened. All they have are pieces of their memories, flashes of knowledge. They remember being afraid of the sea, ever since they were young. They grew up in a big coastal city, where the sea was as much your enemy as your only source of income. They remember their father, a deeply unpleasant man. They remember anger. They remember a fire, and a boat sinking, and they don’t think they’ll ever be sure what actually caused it, but that doesn’t matter. There was no doubt in their father’s mind that it was caused by them.
They remember, before that, being in school and being taught not to curse people, not even as a joke, and certainly not on the sea. Magic is finicky business. It doesn’t take much for things to get out of hand.
So here’s the thing. They remember their father spitting his last words at them, but they can never remember the exact phrasing. Must have been something like “may you dwell upon the sea forever,” or “may you never stray far from the sea.” It must have been, because they remember thinking Odd words for a dying man .
There is power in the last words of a dying man, they did not think.
After that, they couldn’t drown. They remember not being able to drown. They don’t remember the months after, the ones they must have spent on some shore somewhere, slowly realising something in their father’s wording must have made it so they couldn’t die. So they couldn’t ever leave.
They stared out to the vast expanse of the ocean, now both their prison and only companion.
-
William’s father hated magic. He was a wealthy man whose money made money, and he’d never seen any point in such frilly business as magic.
William’s mother, however, had loved magic. Not only that, she’d respected it, and believed that it was important to teach it, as much as any of the other fundamental truths about the universe. There were even whispers that her own mother had come from the sea itself.
Like anything his father hated and his mother loved, William adored magic. He’d stand and stare with great intent whenever his mother had shown him even the most basic of protection charms. But then she’d fallen ill, and then suddenly she was gone. Really gone, gone as in there was no trace of her left in the house, not even her body. It hadn’t taken long for Father to get rid of all her possessions too.
“She’s gone back to the sea,” William would tell people. They’d look at him uncomfortably, clearly thinking this was just a child struggling to process grief, but he always knew better. The only thing he always wondered is why she hadn’t taken him with her.
Years later, his father was on a trip and William was alone. He had grown up attempting to forget about his mother, about everything, but he couldn’t. He’d grown up to enjoy being left alone in his vast house where he never felt at home, spending the downtime between his father’s presence nursing his wounds.
He stared out of the window of the penthouse, dreading his father’s return, hoping with every inch of him that his father’s ship wouldn’t make it to port.
Eventually, he couldn’t stand there any longer, so he turned inwards. There wasn’t much left of his mother’s teachings in the house, his own memories turned fuzzy with time, but he had managed to snatch a single grimoire from the library. Bargains were easy, he imagined, and especially so for him. He too, in some way, belonged to the sea.
So in the middle of a dark, cold night, while the full moon hung heavy in the sky, he went to plead to the waters.
“I am not, I must admit, entirely sure what this whole deal is,” he said, the moonlight shining off the sand around him, “But you took my mother from me.”
He looked at the lapping edges of the water. The sea remained just the sea. The waves came and went.
“I get that you won’t just drown my father for me, and I don’t particularly have much to offer but-” he shuddered a bit, knowing what he was about to do was cruel and very dangerous, “You can take me, William.”
As he spoke his name, the wind picked up suddenly. It smelt of salt and distant rainfall.
“You can take me like you took my mother,” he continued, “And in exchange, I want you to make sure his ship doesn’t get here.”
The sea seemed to agitate, the waves picking up, dark even in the moonlight.
“Did you hear me?” he yelled, raising his voice over the rushing wind, “You just need to drown-”
As he spoke his father’s true name, the world went black.
He hadn’t expected to wake up, after that. It seemed fair enough, a life for a life. Maybe he would get to be a cool water spirit, scaring tourists. Or maybe a fish, with no memories at all. He did not expect to wake up and find himself a seal.
He knew about selkies, sure, but waking up and being a seal was still a shock. He stared at this new body, his new completely different body, attempting to rationalize what he knew was true - that it was him.
The other thing he did not expect was to wake up looking onto the ocean, and seeing a storm raging. There was a ship, tossing up and down with the waves, a very familiar ship. It was so close to port, but he knew that it couldn’t make it. It was sinking. His father’s ship was sinking.
He knew it was the sea showing him their deal was signed. He hadn’t known, not truly, the enormity of his choice until he stared at it, burning in front of him. He didn’t know how to feel as he stared into the sinking ship.
How many people had he just killed? What was he supposed to do?
He stayed there for a long time, looking on until the ship fully disappeared under the waves. Eventually, when there was nothing but dark wreckage on the surface, he dove down into the water. Time to learn how to be a seal.
At least now he didn’t have to be human anymore. At least then he could swim far away, see where the ocean currents take him.
It’s not like there was anyone at home missing him anyway.
-
Eventually, Uriel got their hands on two things: a small living, and a fishing boat. The boat was just a little too small for them, but it was cozy. She was old enough that her boards creaked in the wind, ropes faded and fraying, and the paint was so worn that her original name was entirely illegible.
Uriel couldn’t die, and they couldn’t leave the waters for too long,or they got antsy. They’d never gone away for long enough to test the ocean's patience, but it wasn’t hard to imagine the consequences. So living on the water was their only option, and as they still enjoyed food and food cost money, fishing it was.
It was a lonely existence, but they discover you can get used to even the loneliest things. They had eternity in front of them to learn how to do their job, and do it well.
They settled in a small town by the name of Safe Harbour. Uriel knew painfully little of magic to understand the how or why, but the town was protected somehow and the magic was strong. Everyone was perfectly content to buy Uriel’s fish, and never talk to them unless they spoke first.
Routine took over and life was almost pleasant. Uriel wasn’t exactly happy, but they imagined this is as happy as people like them got to be, so they pressed on. There was always more fish to be caught.
-
William met Uriel the only good way of meeting people, which is while robbing them. By now, he was perfectly capable of hunting for his own food, but it was such a chore, and a boring one at that. Other seals could tell he was different, that the sea owned him in a different way, and anway, he couldn’t actually talk to them. He didn’t have to be a seal, all the time. But it wasn’t like he could really talk to the humans either, and the vulnerability of being human once again always set him on edge. So he stayed a seal, and passed back and forth through towns, being a general nuisance.
The only consistent thing about his life these days was stealing, and that was practically second nature. So he didn’t think anything of it when he swam up to a small fishing vessel to get his lunch for the day.
He managed to climb up on the deck, and was about to flop back into the sea, triumphant with a fish in his mouth, when he heard a loud voice.
“Hey!” they shouted.
He froze, turning to look at the irate fisher. He wasn’t the type to be afraid, not anymore, but this person was incredibly tall with long, flowing hair that was almost stark white tied haphazardly back. They had the look of someone who had been on sea for years, but they also didn’t look older than maybe their late twenties. They were also holding a harpoon, pointed menacingly at him.
He wasn’t the type to be afraid, but he was, perhaps, a little nervous.
“I swear those damn seals get smarter every time,” they muttered.
He dropped the fish out of his mouth and sighed. “I have always been this smart, I'll have you know.”
This made them pause, looking at him baffled for a second before they let out a cry and charged at him with the harpoon.
“Whoa, okay no need to be rude,” he said, attempting to quickly move out of the way. But he was, in fact, a seal, and seals aren’t made for quick motions on land, to his dismay.
Desperate times call for desperate measures. He transformed into a man.
The stranger stopped again, the harpoon dangerously close to his body.
“Who are you? And what are you doing on my boat?” they say.
Travis couldn’t help but grin as he held up his hand, with his fish clutched in it. “I feel like it’s rather obvious.”
-
Uriel didn’t know how to feel. There was a man on their boat. That’s an undeniable fact. First there had been a seal, and now there was a very annoying silver haired stranger, wearing a ridiculous coat and actively stealing their fish with his bare hands.
They could deal with seals. They could deal with other sea creatures. They weren’t in any way prepared to deal with this.
“Asking for names, just like that?” he said, “How rude of you.”
They could feel more annoyance bubbling up inside them. “I wasn't asking for your name!”
The stranger smirked at them again, clearly enjoying getting them riled up. They should have harpooned him to death then and there. They’ll never know why they didn’t.
“Well, you may call me Travis Matagot anyway,” he said magnanimously, dropping the fish and extending a hand.
They stared at it incredulously, before deciding that their life was already so weird, this might as well happen. They shook it.
“You can call me, uh…” they said. It had been so long since they had to give out names like this. “Gable,” they settled on eventually.
“Like the roof thing,” he said, deadpan.
Gable felt their cheeks heating up. “Shut up!” they said, still holding a lowered harpoon in their other hand, “You were stealing from me, what makes you think-”
“I was hungry,” he said, shrugging. He seemed harmless, if very annoying, so they cautiously put the harpoon down.
“Can’t you fish? You are a seal part of the time, apparently.”
Travis visibly relaxed a little once they’re no longer armed. “Now, why would I, when I can have others do it for me?”
“You could have just asked me,” they said.
Now it was Travis’ turn to be taken aback. He stared at them. “What?” he said.
“I have a lot of fish soup,” Gable said, knowing what they were saying is surreal but being certain that by now they were far too late to stop this trainwreck of a conversation.
“Like in general?” he seemed almost amused.
“I always make too much,” they admit.
-
That's how Travis ended up in their painfully crowded combined kitchen and living room, his coat draped over the back of the chair he was sitting on, staring at a hot bowl of fish soup.
He almost wondered if he ought to accept food at all, but although he didn’t know what to make of Gable yet, they certainly didn’t seem the type to trap him eternally by feeding him.
Gable stared at him, almost self consciously. He almost wanted to pretend he didn’t like it, just to see how they’d react, but regrettably he was hungrier than he thought, and the soup was surprisingly good.
“You liked it,” they said, grinning.
“It was fine,” he said, stopping himself just short of asking for seconds.
“I have spent a lot of time perfecting that soup, Travis.”
He laughed. Time had been something of a laughable concept for a while now. “Well, can’t have been that long. How old are you, twenty five?”
That made his companion pause. They looked down and, honest to god, started counting on their fingers. “Probably forty by now,” they said, looking at him sheepishly. “No clue what that is in seal-man years, or whatever.”
He stared at them, somewhat intrigued at last. But not enough to pry, certainly. “First of all, you must have heard of selkies before,” he said. They gave him a blank stare that meant they honestly probably hadn’t. “And I don’t know either, we don’t age, exactly.”
Gable shrugged. “Sure, did you want more soup?”
“Well if you insist,” he said, passing his bowl to them.
-
They fell into this new routine together easily. Travis would come and try and steal things or otherwise be an annoyance. Gable would threaten him with increasingly odd weapons or just bodily throw him off the side.
And sometimes Travis stayed, and ate Gable’s repertoire of fish based dishes, or mucked about in the small space of the boat. They both occasionally went to town, although mostly separately, as Gable had the reputation of a gentle constant and Travis was rather more of a trickster cryptid.
They never talked about the pasts that plagued them or the curses on their heads, and they were both entirely too stubborn to admit this is the happiest they had been in a very, very long time.
There wasn’t a single moment that they realised they had become friends, and certainly not one they acknowledged. There was only a night, and a tipsy Travis falling asleep on the couch, his silver gray coat left behind, still slung over the chair he usually ate at. There was only a morning Gable spent staring at it wistfully, telling themselves they shouldn’t read into it.
There was him waking up, not for a second doubting his coat would still be there, safe and untouched.
And so in the fragile silence of their friendship, time pressed on.

the truth untold
riddle rosehearts
full imagine
happy angst (?)
female reader
inspired by the smeraldo flower theory
play: the truth untold - bts
.・゜-: ✧ :- -: ✧ :-゜・.
“The blue flower your hand was picking I want to hold it”
it was the autumn of 1697. the streets were bustling with carriages and villagers as orange-yellow leaves fell from the nearly barren tree. it was almost winter. riddle walked out his humble abode, a lime green watering can in his right hand, his other clutching his brown coat due to the weather. it was his daily routine; to water his garden for hours on end and attend to the variety of blooming flowers in the bushes.
a smile graced upon his features when he saw the buds of the roses. his eyes glanced to the bush next to it- smeraldo flowers. its soft blue and pink colors mesmerized him. roses have always been his favorite flowers, but this gorgeous specie takes second place. his pale hands gently stroked the pale blue flower before he lifted up the watering can and poured it around the bushes. a sigh escaped riddle’s lips, forming a small cloud of breath as he felt the cold seep in through his layers of clothing.
“i should ask mother to buy more clothing. . .” riddle stopped talking to himself for a moment, contemplating on his decision. should he request his mother to go to the village? you see, they lived on the outskirts of the town. his mother was overly protective of him and so they were secluded from human contact. “no, never mind. that’s ridiculous.” riddle made his decision, mind filled with the reaction his dear mother would have if he had asked such a request.
riddle finished watering the garden’s bushes and a few of the large hedges that decorated the entrance of their large manor. riddle didn’t see the point of owning such a house when there were only him and his mother as living in the residence. to him, it was a huge waste of space. they were only drawing more attention from the villagers even though their intent (it’s more accurate to say, his mother’s intent) was to be hidden and to rarely interact with the people.
after the redhead has finished his mini monologue, he stepped back inside their unnecessarily big manor, enjoying the warmth the house welcomed him with. he slipped off his cloak and walked towards the spiral stairs to his room to finish his studies of magic.
nightfall had graced the rose kingdom and it was chillier than it was in the afternoon. riddle had lit up a candle to concentrate on his reading, but saw something from his window- no, not something. rather, it was someone. riddle froze, not knowing what to do. he has never encountered anyone that wasn’t his mother and he was scared. his mother wouldn’t be back until next week. riddle took a deep breath, brainstorming ways on how he would handle this situation but it proved to be useless when he saw the stranger running away. he couldn’t see their face but hoped this would be the last they see of them.
the next day, riddle attended to the garden as always and felt odd. the smeraldo flowers he had adored that brought him happiness was. . . lacking. it felt like there were some flowers missing. he knew very well that there were more than just thirteen flowers in this specific bush. he knew because he counted each time he went out to water the flowers. riddle started to deduce all the possibilities that could’ve caused some flowers to go missing. his mind then went back to last night. it was chilly and the dirt roads to his house were covered in dead, crunchy autumn leaves. the stranger that trespassed into his garden was to blame.
riddle felt his blood boil. how dare someone take his precious flowers. who did they think they were? those flowers were his only source of happiness and someone had to steal them. who was this brave newcomer? riddle gripped the handle of his watering can tightly and marched into his house. he was going to stay in front of his bedroom window and watch over the flowers intently. he was going to catch this thief red handed.
it was almost midnight, at least that’s what a certain redhead had deduced. the night was dark but the stars shined to give some light. it was peaceful. riddle felt his eyelids get heavy. no! you can’t fall asleep! riddle scolded himself, lightly slapping his cheeks which caused it to turn red from the impact of his palms. he had to resist the tiredness. . . although that proved to be useless once he woke up and saw the shadow of the stranger hopping off the tall black gates.
angered, riddle let out a frustrated groan and gripped his hair. normally, people would let this slide. but you have to understand that riddle is lonely. he didn’t have any friends. the only “person” he could talk to were the flowers that adorned the front of their house. he let out his frustrations, his excitement and his worries to those plants. it was the only “friend” he has, and those friends were being taken away from him by force.
days passed by and the flower thief (or what riddle liked to call them), was never caught. it seemed like their stealing habits were endless. it tired riddle. he wasn’t focusing on his studies. his mother would be furious of him when she returned. but riddle couldn’t help but wait for the right moment to catch the stranger. that was, until one faithful night, where he decided to follow the thief and see where they would go.
the decision was reckless and risky. what if his mother found out he had left the mansion? would she be even more hard on him? would she be. . . disappointed? god, riddle would kill for his mother to be proud of him for even just a second. nonetheless, he brushed off the consequences he most probably would receive if his mother found out. it wasn’t a when, it was an if. riddle thought long and hard to make this decision a final one. it was like rapunzel escaping the tower mother gothel had trapped her in.
the night had finally dawned upon the rose kingdom. after he saw the stranger grab more of his flowers, he threw the makeshift rope he made from blankets and cloaks he owned and descended down the slightly high window. good thing the stranger didn’t notice him yet. if he was quick enough, he can still make it and follow them. riddle finally made it down and let out a nervous sigh- he was scared. he didn’t know anything about the outside world and how it worked. but if he wanted to get to the bottom of this, he had to do something.
riddle opened his gates and ran towards the direction he thought the flower thief could be headed. his assumption was correct as he saw the familiar ragged cloak and dirties socks. riddle hid behind a food stall that had no employee. his stale grey eyes watching over you. you rubbed your hands together and blew into your cold palms to keep yourself warm. it was rather chilly. you needed some money to keep yourself warm. clearing your throat, you then walked up to strangers and shoved a singular flower in front of them, “have a flower to give to your loved ones to celebrate the holidays! only 10 mandol each!” you gave your best, heartwarming smile and awaited for their answer.
the man in front of you seemed to be taken aback but let out a chuckle, “i dare say that the bundle of florals you are holding as of right now are extremely rare to find back in my hometown,” he started. his voice a tad mysterious. the man gave a grin, showing his slightly sharp teeth and continued, “but, hm, they do look quite fascinating and cheap too, they’ll be perfect for potions. i’ll take a few.” he smiled, passing you a small bag that was hopefully filled with mandol. you smiled to yourself and tied the small bag to your waist with a poorly conditioned rope. “it’s not much for me to stay in a motel but it’ll have to do,” you solemnly sighed, looking up at the passersby and showed them the flowers you had in hand.
in the end, you made quite a large sum of money. it was enough for a place to sleep in and food that would last for three days- five days if you ate sparingly. riddle couldn’t believe his eyes. he felt his chest tighten. you sold his flowers in means to make money out of it. suddenly, all the anger and hatred he felt for you vanished into thin air. all he wanted to do was to help you. he wanted to help you make some money. if he could, he would lend you some but that would mean talking to you and who knows what his mother would do if she found out.
riddle decided it was enough for the night and walked back to his residence.
-
once riddle’s mother has returned from her trip, she realized how different her son’s mood used to be. the riddle she knew was always vigilant and obeyed no questions asked. but the day she returned from her trip, riddle didn’t greet her like he usually would. in fact, he wasn’t even downstairs! he was sleeping away and it was already time for lunch!
she was not happy about this sudden change in behavior and felt the need to instigate something to change him. let’s just say, the rest of the day was harsh for riddle more than it usually was. he was smacked, insulted, he studied for hours, overworked himself and it was exhausting. but something in him gave him hope. no, it wasn’t the flowers he was looking forward to. it was you- the thief who stole the smeraldo flowers. he never forgot the look on your face- he felt extremely bad. was this what his mother was trying to hide him from the outside world? that not everyone slept comfortably in a nice warm bed? that they don’t always have food to eat whenever they wanted? that they have to fend for themselves and do risky things like steal?
it pained him.
it pained him to see you in that state. your clothes were ragged and it barely kept you warm. you didn’t even have proper footwear! you were wearing socks. it pained him. it made him feel guilty for even getting mad at you when you had no choice.
after a long day of being pushed to the extent, riddle watched you from his bedroom window as you stole all that’s left of the rose bushes however he was surprised when you didn’t run away immediately. you turned around and placed back two smeraldo flowers and left a torn up note on the bush before leaving the manor. riddle was curious on what you could’ve left in that bush and so he threw back the makeshift rope off the window and read the note.
i’m sincerely apologize for the theft of your flowers. i left two flowers so that they wouldn’t get lonely.
riddle felt his eyes well up with hot tears. he covered his mouth to stop himself from crying but it was too late as the tears rolled down his flushed cheeks. how considerate do you have to be? you were already living the harsh reality and yet, you were sweet and kind enough to even care for the flowers. riddle smiled at the note and tucked it away in his pockets before climbing back up to his room.
he had to do something, otherwise it was too late. winter would be arriving soon and he doesn’t know if the money you earned from this day’s bundle of flowers would be enough for you to stay at an inn for the rest of winter and at the start of january. riddle felt determined to help you more than ever.
you never stopped taking the flowers from his garden. seeing as the smeraldo flowers were all gone (except for the two flowers you left), he stole other species of florals. marigolds, roses, dandelions, moonflower, morning glory, every flower in the garden. riddle didn’t pay no mind to it. he was busy making something even more special for you to take so that you would for sure make some profit off of it.
riddle always watched you take his flowers, slowly falling for you in the process. he was caught off guard at his change of emotions and how extreme they were whenever he caught your figure. he didn’t have to deny it- he was in love with you. this caused him even more determined to make something that no one could refuse.
through time, riddle did ponder. what if he just talked to you? what if he just helped you? would you be scared of him because he lived in the manor you stole from? would you be embarrassed? the negative thinking never stopped, it drove him mad. he wanted to be able to talk to you calmly. he wanted to feel you. to hear your voice and tell him he is doing a great job.
riddle let out a sigh of accomplishment, he was finally done. you see, riddle made a flower that was made of glass. it looked absolutely captivating. this would be a win-win since his mother was supposed to teach him this spell anyway and if she found out he achieved it without her help? my, she would be ecstatic! riddle felt giddy and couldn’t wait until nightfall had dawned upon the land.
he watched intently from his window as the glass smeraldo flower shined in the bright night, waiting for your arrival. you would never be able to resist this, now would you? he felt proud of himself- something he rarely felt. but. . . there was an unsettling feeling growing in the pit of his stomach when you never came. hours have passed. it was already 2am.
why didn’t you come back?
days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months. where are you? riddle wondered to himself, feeling glum. he has never felt this depressed and lonely in a while. a tear streamed down his face, he sadly glanced out the window where pure white snow covered the dirt road and some of the hedges and bushes. are you cold? riddle asked, as if he could talk to you telepathically. it worried him. the fact that you haven’t visited in two months.
riddle walked downstairs, his mother greeting him with the smell of strawberry tart, though, riddle wasn’t hungry. he didn’t have the appetite. riddle glanced at his mother, his eyes glossy from the tears. riddle’s mother gave a questioning look- albeit, she was worried what made him feel this way. he turned away and ran straight out the door and escaped the manor while his mother called out after her son.
the redhead didn’t care, however, who gives two fucks? the fact that you haven’t been in his property for over two months worried him to death. he held the glass smeraldo in hand, breathing heavily as he dashed towards the village, eager to find you. his throat and nostrils hurt from the current weather and how he wasn’t in appropriate clothing. his eyes searched everywhere for you, but couldn’t find you wearing your signature ragged clothes and dirty socks. so, he asked the employee of a food stall he hid behind the first time he saw you selling flowers.
“excuse me, have you seen a girl around my age selling flowers around here?” the woman gave him a shocked then saddened expression. “young man, the lady you are looking for has passed away two months ago.”
that sentence alone caused his world to shatter. you. . . you were gone. you were gone from this world and you were never coming back. riddle dropped the glass smeraldo as it broke into pieces, the life in it now fading away. he couldn’t accept it. he wouldn’t accept it. he was an idiot for not talking to you before. why was he such a coward? why did he have doubts? riddle felt tears roll down his cheeks as he hiccuped, trying not to make a sound from crying.
“son? are you okay? if you’re crying from the fact that the girl has passed, you two must’ve been close. she doesn’t have any friends besides you, i suppose.” you never had friends? riddle wiped his tears away and smiled sadly at the food vendor, “t-thank you. . .” he whispered, and picked up the pieces of the shattered glass smeraldo, then left to return back to his home.
the world felt gloomy. it felt like nothing,
who knew that a mere stranger would have a huge impact on him.
-
“you want to help us paint the white roses?” cater grinned at you, giving you no time to answer and shoved you a bucket of red paint and a big brush. you internally groaned but agreed to paint anyway. it’s not like you had anything better to do. you dipped your brush in the bucket. after painting for a good two minutes, you placed your bucket down to stretch before noticing two unfamiliar flowers in the bush. they weren’t white nor red.
they were a pale blue.
you felt yourself being mesmerized by the flower and stared at it before hearing a voice behind you. you flinched only to realize it was riddle rosehearts: the dorm leader of heartslabyul. “what are you staring at?” he asked from behind your shoulder. “oh, nothing. it’s just strange that these flowers are out of place. . .” you trailed off, staring at the flower once more.
riddle chuckled, “that flower holds a special meaning,” your eyes lit up, wanting to know the meaning behind it. riddle smiled and gripped on the glass flower that he hid behind his back, holding back the tears of happiness he felt welling up his eyes. he never thought he’d see you again.
you came back, flower thief.

Just seen a post like "y r reylos upset? they kissed. I have a ship where they don't even meet" and I was ready to go "I Don't Know How To Explain To You That knowingly shipping a crackship and seeing a ship that's been set up since the beginning get turned into some emotionally manipulative little trick by hacks who dgaf abt the characters and only want to cash in on every single part of the fandom are very different things." But I gave up. Not worth the effort.
it’s not, but... honestly?
this thing is... like... I don’t want to say mildly worrying me, but... it is. (beware the next post won’t probably make much sense but bear with me this thing isn’t sitting well with me lmao)
I mean, like, let’s get it out of the way that I didn’t care for reylo either way until tlj and post-tlj I was like ‘oh okay they’re definitely the romance of the trilogy fine sounds nice I’ll be here being happy for them when they inevitably kiss’, because it’s like.. star... wars. I mean. sw is like the one franchise that until five days ago I’d have cashed in on being the ONE thing that would always end up cheesy/hopeful/not disappointing you know, so... I didn’t even consider that there was another way it could end. because it’s goddamn sw, redemption stories with happy endings are the damned brand.
so like... the fact that the thing was obviously set up and they tore it to shreds along with everything else in the movie is bad. like, bad. but people who didn’t realize how fucking insulting it was just... don’t seem to get that the moment you go watch movies whose brand is making you feel better about things and they turn into calvinism central NO HAPPINESS ALLOWED and they don’t even do it with sense - bc rots made no fucking sense at any point ever and that’s outside reylo - it just... makes you feel betrayed? like, again: in 2015 when I came out of the cinema the only thing I banked on was poe dameron not dying and I couldn’t care either way about kylo ren, but like - tlj made me care. as it was supposed to be. I was supposed to care about kylo ren’s pull to the light and guess what I did because that movie wanted me to, and it wanted me to do 2+2 and realize that he and rey were soulmates and fine I was down with that because I like myself a nice love story.
and then like... you give it to me, like that, and the moment you have the character who has had a shitty life, has been groomed since he was born if not before by Worst Person In The Galaxy if the new canon wants me to buy that - or by snoke but it’s the same -, is an abuse victim and is 100% sure that everyone hates him and no one understands him or wants to understand him, you make that character related to one of the most iconic ones in the franchise to the point that you tried to make han every other member of the trio tbh, you actually have that character taking his life in his hands after talking to han and like embrace what he always wanted to be and show that he’s actually happy with it (like ffs guys it’s also probs because adam driver is an excellent actor but you can see the ben solo vs kylo ren difference in the span of five seconds, and you’re supposed to root for ben solo to win ffs), have him actually win, have him being happy for the first time in the entire canon and then you kill him a second later with rey in tears over it except that then we forget to give him a funeral........... like.......... sorry but I feel robbed because as lowkey as my effort on banking on ben solo’s redemption was because I was sure it was coming and I took it for granted it still felt like they were being unnecessarily cruel. like, they could have killed him in ten other ways that wouldn’t make you feel like someone stabbed you in the kidney as another anon put it. but no, let’s give people the prospect of HEY THEY’LL BE HAPPY just to tear it away from them ten seconds later. like, what the fuck? that’s not what anyone signed up for.
especially when the entire thing was obviously set up for the happy ending. like, if you actually misread the audience so much that you think star wars audience wants grimdark when it’s a movie marketed at children then you don’t deserve the money you’re most likely getting paid.
like, again: as someone who wasn’t even diehard reylo or whatever even if I absolutely shipped it, I felt like these assholes took my money and punched me in the kidney since rey palpatine was a thing and the moment he died I about screamed fuck you out loud... along with most of the entire room which was screaming fuck you, because guess what, not a single person in that room actually was banking on the ben solo redemption to fail and each single person in the room was clapping when they kissed because we were fucking waiting for it already, and like......... obviously ppl shipping it are upset. they were given an unsatisfactory movie up until then that didn’t give the characters justice but which could have still been more or less decent if it saved the spirit of the entire thing... which it didn’t because sw is not fucking calvinist central and hasn’t ever been until now. and then they were given canon after being the target of the vilest shit (guys seriously I unfollowed antireylo people way before shipping reylo myself bc that crap was out of line for shipping fictional stuff)... just to have them take it away by killing the one character that was there to show you that there’s always hope for you to do the right thing?
like, let’s be fucking real: the message is that if you fucked up and want to be better it won’t ever be enough because sorry but you’ll never get another good start and if you care about someone who fucked up and want to help them be better it’s wasted time because people who want to do better can’t actually live and have a chance to keep on doing it.
and sorry but fuck that message with a chainsaw. the beautiful thing about this ship imvho was that in tlj it made it overtly clear how rey helped him out of being a genuinely nice person who listened to someone who thought no one ever would and at the same time kylo/ben couldn’t believe that someone actually said that he wouldn’t be alone either bc the two of them are extremely lonely people and feel that acutely....... and they even threw in the soul bond to make it extra obvious. it was a hopeful story because you had girl who never had anyone who was also innately good who could put her prejudices aside to see that someone who also went dark side because he thought no one loved him and then kept on being abused his entire life actually had good inside them and wanted to help him see that instead of writing him off as a lost cause. like. that was a good romance. nothing exceedingly new under the sun, but in sw it was pretty fresh and a good spin compared to the two other main love stories of the trilogy. also, anakin/padme was what it was and han/leia was immensely better but hey someone decided to kill off the entire original trio so whatever... and if these two ended well they’d have been a constant improvement, never mind the symbolism - you had anakin who was a no one and married a space princess but ended up tragically because he went to the dark side and she could do nothing for him, then anakin’s daughter who was a space princess and married han who is also technically a no one since he didn’t even have a surname on his home planet, and if rey/ben had actually not.. had that ending you’d have closed the circle with space prince descended from both anakin and leia being brought back from the dark side with the help of another no one and finally the damned skywalker line would have gotten one 100% happy ending because it was supposed to be the ending.
like.
that’s something that thematically made so much sense I didn’t even think they wouldn’t do it.
and they did. and guess what of course people are pissed. because this movie about ignored themes, its own canon (from tfa and tlj) and didn’t accomplish one single thing except chewie getting his damned medal.
which, while something we all hoped would happen at some point, is hardly the one thing you should accomplish in a star wars movie supposed to end the goddamned cycle and which eventually ended up being prequel-level if not worse. because I mean, objectively I think the phantom menace was actually a better movie, and I would rewatch this over 2 and 3 just because the cgi in this movie didn’t hurt my eyes, but as bad as lucas got with the prequels, he never did a single character as dirty as disney did all the characters here. no, not even padme, and he did do padme dirty.
tldr: if people don’t get why you’d be pissed at how this movie ended idk what to tell them... but shit if it’s not worrying me that people apparently can’t get that it was a disaster on each single level it could have been. peace.

Okay so I wanted to add to the Revfinder content because I defiantly don’t love this ship with all my heart.... I don’t know what you’re talking about. I was heavily inspired by @jogress and @muceybbds stories! Which I loved! This does suggest some sensitive parts so be warend! This is also my first time doing something like this so I hope you enjoy! XD
Pathfinder is a very simple Robot. He doesn’t have certain needs nor wants, he simply wants to be happy with his friends. With every game he wins the more money he gets, but he doesn’t have anything he really wants so he buys presents for his friends because he doesn’t want them to feel as if they didn’t do well in the game!
The only thing Pathfinder buys him self is stuffed animals, he has a very big collection of ones that have caught his eye! He has dragons of all different colours, Elephants of all different sizes and giraffes of all different pattens. His prized collection is of course Nessie’s. Wattson made one for him so of course he keeps this one close to him. It was his colours Blue and Yellow and had his happy emoji on the front of his neck, Wattson even took the liberty of sewing his name into the Nessie so that if Pathfinder ever lost it (not that that would ever happen) the finder would have someone to return it to.
Another Nessie is one that he himself bought that was multi coloured, it reminded him of all his favourite colours and every colour he linked to every other legend! So this one he loves showing all his friends reminding them of the colour that they remind him of and that he keeps this one close to his heart!
His last Nessie is one that reminded him of Best friend, Revenant. It’s a dark red with black and silver spots all over it and it’s yellow eyes could glow in the dark! Pathfinder loved this one so much that he often recharged with it to keep him safe and comfortable.
After a long and hard working game Pathfinder was brought back to the drop ship with his team, Revenant and Wraith. Wraith congratulated Path
“Thanks friend! I couldn’t have done it without you! You’re always great to fight beside!”
“You saved me multiple times Path don’t pin the win on me!” Wraith said. Pathfinder then put up his hand for a high five to which Wraith gladly returned.
Revenant was grumbling in the corner watching this all go down, just as he was about to leave Wraith turned to him “You did well too Revenant”
“Agh” he remarked back at her
“I’ll take that as a compliment” she replied “Don’t stay up too long!” She said as she trailed off to the kitchen. She grabbed a drink and watched the two walk down the hall together. Wattson walked in behind her “Bonjour Mon Àmie, you look well today!”
“I’m okay!” Wraith paused “Do you think they know they’re in love?”
“Who?” Wattson looked down the hall seeing the two robots walk further down the ship.
“Oh... They’ll find out soon enough!”
Revenant and Pathfinder has rooms that were relatively close to each other and Pathfinder always took it to walk Revenant back to his room after every game, which Revenant hated, he didn’t really know why he hated it. He always assumed it was just because he was so overly optimistic or that he was getting in the way or being too intrusive, but it lit a different kind of fire in him. One that felt different to anger or annoyance, it was warm and fuzzy.
“I think you did really well today Rev”
He stayed silent and just grunted in acknowledgement. He was trying to hide the fact that his he was over heating a bit too much and that his arms weren’t crossed and his hands unclenched which was abnormal for him, what was wrong with him! He didn’t understand what was happening. His chest felt tight and he felt like he forgotten how to walk. Pathfinder was still going on about how well Revenant had done in the games
“It was exciting to watch as you were able to take down an entire squad on your own while me and Wraith were...” Pathfinder stopped. What happened? Rev only noticed when he couldn’t hear Pathfinder trotting next to him. He stopped and turned to see Pathfinder with a question mark on his screen.
“Are you okay Rev?”
“I-I’m fine” he retorted “why’d you stop?”
“Because you don’t seem okay!” “You’re overheating! Are you sure you’re okay friend?”
Revenant couldn’t focus properly, he just stayed silent and continued walking to his room.
Pathfinder followed to his door and before revenant could retreat to his room Pathfinder stopped him.
“It’s okay to not be okay friend! You don’t have to tell me what’s wrong, if you don’t want too, but you don’t seem yourself!”
“I don’t need your help, I just need to recharge”
Revenant couldn’t look at Pathfinder! He knew that just looking at him would make the feeing even bigger! He felt like he would just shut down in front of him. His eyes kept looking at Pathfinder’s hands, why?! He didn’t want anything to do with Pathfinder he wanted to push him away and threaten him to leave him alone like he would with anyone else. But he couldn’t bring himself to do it... was this?
No he thought, it couldn’t be! He doesn’t deserve it.
Revenant looked up at Pathfinder finally and said “I’m going now... thanks I guess....”
“For what friend? I haven’t done anything”
Revenant didn’t explain why just shut the door in Paths face.
Pathfinder then trotted over to his room.
Later that night Path couldn’t stop thinking about Revenant! He knew something was up, but he couldn’t know unless he told him. He held Revenant’s Nessie close to him, he wanted to go help him... but he didn’t want to be rude.
Path decided to build up his courage! His best friend was hurting and he wanted to help him! He got up out of his berth and opened his door, holding his Nessie tightly he slowly but surely walked over to Revenants door. The door was already open slightly which was odd, Path gently knocked on the door.
“Friend... I- I wanted to see if you’re okay”
Revenant was sitting on the end of his bed when Pathfinder knocked, he shot up when he heard to knock. “I’m fine MRVN.... I don’t need anything”
“You don’t seem that way friend! I thought you might need some company, do you mind if I come in?”
Revenant glared at him then dropped his head to the floor, “fine... come in”
“Thank you friend!” Pathfinder closed the door behind him and sat down on the floor, To which Revenant looked at him in surprise.
“What are you doing?”
“Well there’s not enough chairs for us both to sit down so the floor is fine!”
Revenant looked at him, if he could emote he would be stumped as to why this tall hunk of a robot was just sitting in his floor! “Use the bed you mo... just use the bed” he said. Path then stood up, at this point Revenant noticed that he was carrying two Nessie’s!
“What are you doing with those? Why do you have two?” Pathfinder looked down at his hands and noticed he accidentally brought the plushie that looked like Revenant I’m with him as well as the one Wattson had made for him.
“Well friend when I have trouble sleeping or I have a bad day! I like to cuddle up to a plush animal! It helps me relax a bit”
“Why do you have 2?” Rev questioned
“ I didn’t realise I brought this one in!” He held up the red Nessie so Revenant could see it. Revenant looked at the plushie and felt a warm heat come across his face.
“Is that... supposed to look like m-me?” He spluttered
“Yes friend! I like to think that if I can’t hug you then I can hug this version of you to keep you happy! His eyes shine like yours!” Pathfinder handed the Nessie over to Revenant who was shocked. The feeling in his chest was bigger than ever, why the hell would this MRVN want to hug him? His a murderer and a cold hearted fool!
“Why?”
“Why what friend?”
“Why me?” Revenant looked at Pathfinder who had a nervous emoji stuck on his screen, his hands where joined and his two index fingers tapping together in hesitation.
“I.. I really like you fr.. Revenant!”
The sentence sent Revenant into shock he sat back in his chair and turn to look at the plushie in his hands.
“Your face is pretty, your frame is slender and your eyes are ... very.. very beautiful!”
Revenants chest felt like it was going to burst, the feeling had sent his engines into over drive and he was making a whining sound “Don’t continue”
But Path presses on! “Your arms are long and tender and your hands are slim and pretty... I think that you are very .... handsome Revenant!” Revenant looked at Pathfinder who had heart emojis all over his screen.
At this point Revenant had become very noisy and was lost in thoughts of kicking this hunk of adorableness out of his room.
The room fell silent. It stayed that way for a couple of minutes before Pathfinder sat down on Revenants bed. “I’m sorry if you are overwhelmed by this friend, you just seem a bit... lonely” Revenant stood up, at this point Pathfinder was sure he was going to be pushed off the bed and told to get out or he would be killed. Pathfinder had a shut eye emoji on his screen with tears running down the screen, Revenant didn’t do anything, the noise stopped and he just stood there holding the Nessie in both his hands.
“Are you okay Revenant?” Pathfinder asked, silence followed. “Revenant?”
Rev turned around and sat down next to Pathfinder he placed his head on Paths shoulder and started to hum slowly. Pathfinder was surprised! He never saw or heard Revenant do this before, so slowly he moved his hand and pressed his blocky fingers onto Revenants slim ones until he could slide his fingers between his. He clasped at the hand tightly, “I promise to never hurt you friend, I just want to make you happy!” Pathfinder said slowly. He then felt Revenants had slowly but surely close to hold Pathfinders tighter. Path the put his other arm around Revenants waist and pulled him close.
“I love you friend and I will always be here for you!” Revenant handed back the plushie and softly asked “can... can I have this one?” Pointing at Pathfinder’s Nessie.
“Of course Friend! I think that would be much better! We can always be together then!”
“That... would be..” he didn’t finish his sentence but gentle held the plushie in his hands stroking the neck of the Nessie.

How is everyone okay with this?
I was thinking of maybe making this a series of like cute hogwarts moments of parents moments from George and Y/n especially with kids at hogwarts.... Let me know.
Also something that surprises me is how can everyone say goodbye to their children and just send them to boarding school but also I get. Just ditch the kids on that train and have ten month vacation? YES.
“They’ll have to go to Hogwarts sometime.” George said, you shake your head. As a muggleborn you had never understood how parents could send their children to that god awful school. The stories Harry told about his first year, and then second all the other years had made you decide you would not be sending your children there. “No!” you said angry. The two of you had this discussion many times when they were younger. George had let you go your way when it came to the kid’s education, he would sit with either of them at the kitchen table and help with  math problems, and you’d teach them at home because every sneeze from Ophelia meant that every nose turned turquoise in her vicinity. Or, every class toad would be released by Alfie without so much as a glance.  You couldn’t let them out on their own because they had no control of their magical abilities in quite an extraordinary way. They were only eight year old when Mcgonacall was first offered to let stay at Hogwarts after Neville discussed the twins with her. You thought they were too young, and instead you kept them home from school, and the two of you taught them yourself. Which meant the two of you were very lenient when it came to travelling. They came with the two of you when you went to Romania for a few weeks to visit Charlie, they came along to America, France, Vietnam, and many other countries the four of you traveled to. But, now your babies were almost eleven, and you knew that stupid letter would arrive. “They are  so young, George. Our babies.” you argued. George chuckled. “We cannot keep them forever. They need to learn magic.” George said, you looked at the ground, and you knew he was right. He stepped closer to you, putting his fingers under your chin to force you to look at him. “She’ll do great.” he said: “Just have faith in them.” he said, with a smile. “But, I’ll miss them too much.” you pouted. George laughed, he put his arms around you for a hug. “You’ll appreciate them more in the summer vacation.” he said, you couldn’t help but feel sad, the two of you never had any more children than the twins, only now you understood why Molly had seven.
You stood at the platform with tears in your eyes, as George went off to put the kid’s trunk in the train. “Forget that owl your dad gave you. Here I have my own gift for you.” you said, taking out two iphones for the kids. You had saved some money so you could each buy their own. You didn’t agree with giving kids phones but you felt desperate to keep in close contact with the two. “Just call me whenever you feel lonely or text.” you said, she had a smile on her face. “Mum, I’m not sure they’ll have cell reception at Hogwarts.” Ophelia said she was confident for her age. Something she definitely got from George. “Keep your sister out of trouble.” you tell Alfie. He was the spitting image of George. Although in his opinion he looked more like Fred. Teddy and Victoire said they’d let them hang out if they got lonely and Neville, who was your Hogwarts best friend, said he’d keep an eye out, and the feeling of wanting to keep them here was so strong within you. You couldn’t understand how all these parents could do it. You wanted them to be happy to go to school so you hold your tears. George came back, and Ophelia hid her cellphone in her jacket pocket. “Are you ready to board the train?” he asked. Ophelia nodded. You give her a hug, and a kiss on her cheek. Next was George, who was beaming with pride for his daughter. He held her a little too long as she tried to wriggle herself out of his embrace and he ruffled her curls. You hug Alfie, and whisper that you loved him, giving him a kiss.  “Dad!” Ophelia said, when George was still hugging Alfie. “Alright. Have fun and don’t let me get a letter about your mischief.”  They hurried to the train only looking back once, leaving the two of you standing there. You unconsciously held your breath as the train started to move. All the other parents waved at the children who each had their hand poking out of the window to wave. You suddenly burst into tears because your babies had left. George held you in his embrace. “They are going to be fine.” he mumbled.
The phone rang around ten. You pick up the phone, you and George were watching a movie. “Hello Sweetie. How is Hogwarts?’ you ask. You turn on the phone on speaker. “What house are you in?” George asked. You look at your husband and even though you knew it was important for him to know which house they were in, it wasn’t so much for you. “I’m Gryffindor, dad.” Ophelia said he wouldn’t let her know if he was disappointed if she was in any other house. But, you could just tell he was glad she was Gryffindor. “THat’s bloody brilliant, darling.” he said: “Are you having fun?” you pause the movie to listen more intently. “Oh yes, I already made a friend. Ellis Wood, he is a Hufflepuff.” she said, George chuckled. “Oh yes. I used to play quidditch with his father.” George said, you just listen to your husband reminiscing about whose children are in her year. “You should go to sleep, it is going to be a long day tomorrow.” you tell her before the two of them gossip through the night. “Goodnight mum. Bye dad.” Ophelia said, hanging up the phone. When you realised she hadn’t handed the phone to Alfie. You dial the number, it only went over a couple of times before he picked up. “Mum?” he answered. “Hi honey.” you said, you heard soft sobs, and you thought you heard your heart breaking. “What is going on?” you ask. He was probably just homesick. “I want to go home, mum.” Alfie cried. George gave you the look, like you had raised a momma’s boy. “Can we go?” you whisper to George. He raised his eyebrow, and hesitated. “Fine, kid. We’ll just have a chat with uncle Neville.” George said to Alfie. “Just stay put.” he added. He hung up the phone. You had a smile on your face. “What are you laughing about?” he asked with a devilish smile. “At Least one of our kids misses us. Don’t you find that a bit enjoyable?” you ask. He shook his head, with a laugh.
Not an hour later you were sitting in Mcgonacall’s office chatting with her while Alfie was sitting in the hallway. “Well it is normal for the young students to feel a bit homesick, and it is highly irregular for parents to come to the school in the middle of the night.” She said, she had a smile on her face though. “He is a hufflepuff at heart like you, Y/n.” She said: “But, the sorting hat put him in Gryffindor.” you could tell George was happy with it. “And you Mr. Weasley, how dare you hand those children the attributes to cause trouble even before they entered the train?” She said stern, you could tell George knew more of this by the look on his face. “I have no idea what you are referring to.” he said, innocently. “Can we just talk to him?” you ask her. She nods. The two of you get up, and George was already out of the room when Mcgonacall said this: “I suspect young Alfred asked the sorting hat for Gryffindor, but I can only assume he is too sensitive at heart.” without looking up from the papers in front of her.
The two of you sat down next to Alfie either on one side of your son. “Can I go home?” He asked. You shake your head, George put his hand on his son’s shoulder. “You don’t have to be scared, bean.” George said, Alfie looked up at you with the same brown eyes as his dad. “Please mum. These people already gave me detention!” he said, you locked eyes with George, and it was like he won. Alfie wasn’t homesick; he and Ophelia just got in trouble. “Yes, I heard about it. Do you want to tell what happened?” you ask. Alfie looked at the ground. “Ophelia and I replaced the taffy on the trolley with dad’s puking pastilles.” Alfie confessed and the two of you laughed expecting the other to be serious. “Way to go little man” You said, George held up his hand for a high five. “You’re not mad?” Alfie asked. You shrug. “Let me tell you the good part about Hogwarts.” George said: “you’ll get punished here enough.” He looked at you and even though the two of you knew that wasn't exactly the case. The two of you just didn’t want Alfie to feel even worse on his first day. Alfie laughed because he didn’t know the two of you weren’t joking.
The two of you said goodbye to Alfie, as the two of you walked down the corridors of Hogwarts. “Remember we shagged in the astronomy tower?” George reminded you. You look at your husband with a laugh. “We also shagged in that cupboard. Where are you going with this?” you ask. You gestured at the cupboard. The evil smirk vanished from his face. “We should just go home.” he said, George pecked a kiss on your lips. “What was that for?” you ask. He had a smile on his stupid face. “I am glad your hufflepuff genes didn’t ruin our kids into goodie two shoes.” he said, you glared at him. “I also don’t like Ophelia hanging out with Oliver Wood’s kid.” he said, you laugh. “He always was an idiot.”  you chuckle, putting your hands around his neck and kissing George.
Christmas break, and you were excited for the train to arrive at the perron. “Calm down they’ll be home in a bit.” Bill laughed. He had Victoire already at Hogwarts, with Louis, and Dominique at home with Fleur waiting for their sister to return. “She has the entire christmas break planned. Because she wants to do a muggle christmas.” George made fun of you. You stick out your tongue at your husband. You look amongst all the children in black robes, when you saw Teddy, with Victoire on his arm, with Ophelia, Ellis, and Alfie following them. “Mum!” She said, ran towards you. “I’m her favorite.” you said, sticking once again your tongue to George. He scrunched his nose, you hugged Ophelia when she reached you. “I missed you, bean.” you said, kissing her all over her face. She rubbed away the kisses on her cheeks with the back of her hand. George patted her over her head. She had grown so much. Or, maybe that is how you felt after you hadn’t seen her in months. The other reached you too, and you pulled Alfie in for a hug. “Mum stop!” he said embarrassed. But, you didn’t care. “My babies are back” you cooed. “I am sorry you have to witness this.” Alfie turned to Ellis, who was laughing. “I have to go find my parents. Have a nice break, Weasleys” he said to the twins.

Everyone knew what happened to you and Tom. The marriage wasn't working out anymore and even when you tried marriage counseling, it wasn't making anything better. You decided it'd be best to get a divorce and move out with your two kids, leaving a heartbroken Tom behind.
There were a few reasons as to why you guys decided to get a divorce. The reasons being: lack of communication, arguing, and lack of equality.
Although you and Tom loved each very much, you couldn't handle the arguments anymore; it wasn't healthy. Your children deserved to be in a loving household.
Tom helped you put the last suitcase in your car and his heart breaks even more when you check your things in the car once more.
"I'll, uh, I'll miss you." Tom says, putting his hands in his pockets. You look at Tom and give him a sad smile. He pulls you in for a hug, one you never thought you needed. He hugs you tightly as he silently cries. You pull away and kiss his cheek, "I'll miss you too, but it'll be for the best. We can't keep fighting anymore."
Tom nods, "I understand. It just sucks to live in this big house all alone. I could've moved out you know?"
"I can't let you do that." you shake your head. "You used your money to buy this house. You deserve to stay here."
"I bought it for us."
"I know and I love it, but it's your money used to buy it."
"Where will you stay?" Tom asks. "I'll miss the kids."
"I wrote my address down and I put it on the fridge using the magnets." you answer. Tom nods and hears the laughter of his children. He looks at them and smiles.
You and Tom have two boys; a six year old and a three year old. Both of them were your light. Their energy makes both of you happy and stress-free.
"Daddy!" your six year old, James, smiles as Tom picks him up and hugs him tightly. "Daddy, are you coming with us?"
"Oh, uh, I'm not coming, buddy. I have work to do. I'll see you soon, okay?" Tom says. You and Tom didn't tell them about the divorce. They'll understand when they're older. James pouts and nods. Tom kisses his forehead before putting him down. He feels someone tugging his jeans and he looks down to see his youngest, Khalil.
Tom picks him up too and Khalil immediately rests his head on Tom's shoulder. You didn't know why, but for some reason, only Tom could put him to sleep. Khalil would stay up until midnight when Tom comes home, because he wants his dad to put him to sleep.
It made you feel like a shit mom.
You helped James in the car as Tom stands there with Khalil in his arms. You turn to Tom to see Khalil already fast asleep. With the door still open, Tom carefully puts Khalil in his car seat and closes the door. He looks at you and sighs, "I'll pick them up on Friday, okay?"
"Yeah, okay." you pull him in for a hug once more only this time, both of you were crying. You held on to each other like your life depended on it, before pulling away. You wipe your tears and force yourself to smile, "We'll be okay. I love you."
"I love you more." Tom sobs.
You walk to the driver's side and look at Tom one last time before getting in your car to drive on the way to your parents' new house.
Tom lets out a frustrated sigh before going back inside the house. He goes straight to the kitchen and sees the new note on the fridge. He walks closer to it and sees the address of your parents' new house. On the kitchen counter are the divorce papers needing his signature.
-
Weeks passed and Tom still wasn't used to coming home to an empty and quiet house. He couldn't invite Harrison anymore like he used to, because Harrison has his own family. His brothers have their own lives now and he feels sad and lonely.
He's so tired of people looking at him with pity. He still hasn't signed the papers, because he believes he could still fix your relationship. He's not so sure on how to do it but one thing's for sure, when he fixes it you'll move back in with him and you could be a family again.
* * * *
kinda sad kinda not
Happy birthday Tom x

How the Types Dump You
ESTJ: As you walk into the room, he is sitting at an office desk. He motions for you to sit down. (This confuses you greatly, because you don’t even have an office desk in your house; did he buy one just for this occasion?) He takes out his reading glasses and pulls out a file folder that you can see is extensively tagged with color-coded index notes. He opens it up and begins reading from a double-spaced, 5,000-word essay written in size 12 Times New Roman with in-text citations and a bibliography written in APA format. His essay lists every way in which you’ve ever failed to live up to his expectations in the relationship; the report concludes that there is no other rational choice but to fire you as his companion. He thanks you for your time and writes you a severance check (aka first and last month’s rent) before leaving. You shrug casually because, well, hey, it could’ve been worse: you could’ve been broken up with the way that the ENFP girl’s boyfriend on this list did.
ISTJ: ISTJs don’t break up with you. If you end up with an ISTJ, you’re either going to have to do the dirty work yourself, or you’re going to be stuck with them until you die.
Either that, or they’ll e-mail you from work while they’re on their lunch break (because they can’t send a personal e-mail during work hours, obviously).
ESTP: You walk into your apartment to see your ESTP boyfriend in the middle of having a literal orgy in your living room. “What the fuck are you doing?!” you scream at your ESTP boyfriend (and the twelve other people in the room, too, I guess), who seems genuinely confused somehow. “But I don’t even love them!” he continues to insist, not understanding how you could be so upset about this. “It’s just sex, what’s the big deal? Here, how about this: why don’t you join us? Would that make you feel better? The bowl of condoms is over there. They’re just for decoration and we’re not using them, but I thought I would show them to you anyway.”
ISTP: Sends you a letter in the mail from a clinic advising you to get tested for STDs.
ESFJ: You’ve been talking about starting to try for a baby for a while now, so you and your partner begin to make some preparations to help protect your future family - stashing away money for the down-payment on a house, trading in your car for a family van, filling out life insurance policies; routine stuff. But then, little things started happening; things so small that you only noticed in hindsight. The new lock on her phone that wasn’t there before. How often you caught her smiling to herself as she was texting. How much more often she was suddenly going on out-of-town work trips, or going out for a lady’s night, or having to stay late for work. How irritated she always seemed to be with you, and how little you were having sex despite actively trying to get pregnant. You were in denial at first, but slowly, you’re starting to put the pieces together. You make up your mind to confront her on the weekend, in case anything goes wrong and you suddenly have to go stay somewhere else.
Except you never get a chance to, because one morning, you wake up and your world looks completely different. You aren’t in your bed; in fact, you don’t seem to be anywhere at all. And that’s because you’re dead, because your wife poisoned you so that she could move overseas to be with her new hot 23-year-old boyfriend from Spain, and the money she got from your $250,000 life insurance policy.
ISFJ: Does it the proper, old-fashioned way: by sitting you down and explaining to you why it just isn’t working out. Fuck ISFJs and their wholesomeness and perfection preventing me from shitposting about them. =/
ESFP: Sends you a picture of themselves flipping the bird while sucking your best friend’s dick. Afterwards, texts you a detailed play-by-play of everything they did, and how much of a better lay he was than you. Oh, and how much bigger his dick was than yours, of course.
ISFP: Breaking up? Us? Oh, honey. Honey, no. You’re not going anywhere. I will murder your entire family if that’s what I have to do to stop them from being able to take you away from me. The police? Lmao, that’s cute. Let them come and watch me win the Oscar performance of the year as I cry about how you beat me, and drag you away to jail instead. No, baby, you’re not going anywhere. We’re never breaking up. We’re always going to be together. Forever.
ENTJ: He’s a wildly successful entrepreneur who ended up becoming a multi-millionaire. You’re the beautiful philanthropist and socialite trophy wife and stay-at-home mom who takes care of the kids. Together, you own homes in four different countries (one for each season, and several in Aspen and Montauk - just for the weekends, of course), a yacht, multiple sports cars, an entire room just for shoes, ties, and handbags, and a chef, a housekeeper, and a full-time, live-in nanny. Everything he owns is shiny, new, the latest model - everything, that is, except for you. So he cheats on you behind your back, divorces you when you find out about it, and then replaces you with a hotter, younger replica of yourself.
But hey, at least you got half of everything in the divorce. At least he was gracious enough not to have you assassinated, I guess.
INTJ: Calmly and rationally explains to you why it just wouldn’t work in the grand scheme of things. I mean, for one thing, having a wife (or even a serious girlfriend) just wasn’t a part of the life plan that he created for himself in the first grade; hell, it wasn’t even a part of the ten-year plan that he drew up for himself on the first day of high school. He’s not trying to be rude or insensitive, but he just doesn’t have the time to waste on pursuing empty, meaningless pursuits like social relationships or having a girlfriend. How is he going to meet his goal of becoming the youngest PhD holder in his state if he has to waste time doing things like talking to you?
Joke’s on him, though, because this is exactly how the movie Legally Blonde started, and doesn’t he know how that movie ended for someone like him?
ENTP: ENTPs don’t break up with you, because ENTPs don’t date anyone seriously in the first place. If, by some stroke of (horrible) luck, you actually did manage to get an ENTP to agree to hang out with you often enough under a context that could reasonably be construed as the two of you being “in a relationship”, they would probably get bored and cheat on you within weeks. But hey, if you’re a masochist and getting your heart broken repeatedly is your thing (lookin’ at you, INFxs), then do what makes you happy, man. I’m not judging.
INTP: Meh. Doesn’t really bother to break up with you. Continues to co-habitate with you while ceasing to continue putting any effort into the maintenance of the relationship, and just kind of letting it die a natural death. By the time it’s over, neither of you have cared for months.
ENFJ: Leaves you a length, caring, compassionate, “It’s not you, it’s me” goodbye letter on your bedside table in an attempt to soften the blow of gently explaining that she has decided to leave you and your life together in order to pursue her dream of cultivating relationships with multiple wealthy Sugar Daddies who fund her extravagant, globetrotting lifestyle.
INFJ: INFJs never truly break up with anyone. They keep the door open just the tiniest sliver, so that they can keep you around as their potential back-up plan in case their current relationship falls apart. After all, where are they going to get their identity and sense of self from if they’re alone?
ENFP: You come home after work and she isn’t there. None of her stuff is missing, so at first, you aren’t worried - she must just be running late, or made an impromptu decision to go see a friend. By 10 PM, you’re riddled with anxiety and the fear that something has gone horribly, horribly wrong. You call her friends. You call all the local hospitals and jails. You file a police report. But nothing ever comes of the investigation, and no one can figure out what happened to her - it’s like she dropped off the face of the Earth. The whole ordeal is emotionally devastating for you, but eventually life goes on, as it inevitably must.
Years later, you turn on your computer and have a new friend request on Facebook. It’s your ex-girlfriend. You find out that she’s been living on a hippie commune in the Costa Rican rainforest for the past three years. She felt “stifled and trapped” by her old life, she tells you, and felt like she “needed a change from the oppressive grind of daily life”. She can’t understand why you’re so upset about it; shouldn’t you be happy for her for finally getting to live out her dream?
You hang up the phone and never think about her again.
INFP: Ghosts you.
That’s it. That’s literally it. You’ll never hear from them again. It’s like they just never existed. After a while, you start to wonder whether they ever really did, or if they were just a figment of your imagination.
(If you’re an INTP, then this is probably true. Your caring, squishy uwu INFP senpai girlfriend was all a product of your lonely imagination.)

....
Hearing your name the memories come back again I remember when it started happening I see you n' every thought I had and then The thoughts slowly found words attached to them And I knew as they escaped away I was committing myself to em n' everyday I regret saying those things 'cause now I see that I Took what I hated and made it a part of me
Lying From You || Linkin Park
When I pretend Everything is what I want it to be I look exactly like what you had always wanted to see When I pretend I can forget about the criminal I am Stealing second after second just cause I know I can, but I can't pretend this is the way it will stay, I'm just (Trying to bend the truth) I can't pretend I'm who you want me to be
....
I remember what they taught to me Remember condescending talk of who I ought to be Remember listening to all of that and this again So I pretended up a person who was fitting in And now you think this person really is me and I'm (trying to bend the truth) But the more I push The more I'm pulling away
Lithium || Nirvana
I'm so happy because today I've found my friends They're in my head I'm so ugly, but that's okay, 'cause so are you We've broken our mirrors
...
I'm so lonely but that's okay I shaved my head And I'm not sad And just maybe I'm to blame for all I've heard But I'm not sure I'm so excited, I can't wait to meet you there But I don't care I'm so horny but that's okay My will is good

13 Days of Christmas (Yoon Jeonghan)
Hi! Not much to say but I hope you enjoyed Erin’s update! And this is one of my favorites that I wrote! I’ll see y’all tomorrow! gif credits to owners!
Word count: 2699
Tumblr media
“There it is,” you said, gently placing your fingertips against the glass, “Jeonghan’s Christmas present.” It was neither grandiose nor revolutionary but you could guarantee that that record player would light up his face the moment he saw it and it was worth it. You could already picture him buying a table specifically for that and his little collection of records happily on the side. You felt the goosebumps making their way across your body hearing Jeonghan’s vocals as he sang along to his favorite songs.
Joshua, on the other hand, didn’t look too amazed. “It’s nice…Y/N, it’s really nice, but isn’t the price...a bit much?” He loved his friend, he really did but the thought of spending so much money on him was enough to haunt his daydreams. But then he figured that if ever found someone that would spend as many Christmases with him the way you and Jeonghan did, then maybe he’d understand. After all, you were already dating when he met Jeonghan, but he surprised himself when he saw he got along with you as well, being neighbors and all.
“Joshua...for Jeonghan, too much is never enough.”
“But when was the last time you bought something for yourself?”
You kicked your foot in the air to show him your kicks. “Uh, I bought these four months ago, remember?”
“Yes...I told you to either buy them or I would. You had to justify buying a new pair even though they had a hole on the toe.”
“Not everyone can inherit a family business, Mr. Show Off. Now, are you gonna help me wrap that thing when I get out of work?” You cleaned the prints with the sleeve of your sweater paw, ridding the smudge on the window. You tapped the pocket of the small zipper of your mini backpack, making sure you brought the money with you for the umpteenth time. All your tips and extra cash you had leftover went to the record player. And if the owners had a set schedule, you would’ve bought it and taken it home with you a long time ago.
“And when are you getting your camera? Don’t you miss taking photos?’
“I can always wait for my next birthday or when I’m not drowning in debt.” You remembered all the unopened film you had at home.
So why are you buying something this expensive for Jeonghan?”
“He deserves it. He’s been working so many hours lately and even though he’s dead tired, he still makes time for me. Honestly, that over there-” you pointed to the antique, “-is nothing to compared to everything he’s done.”
“And you don’t work enough hours?” He had never seen a couple like you and Jeonghan, so young and in love and always putting each other first. It sickened him sometimes and he usually had to be realistic for the both of you.
“Pfft, I’m pretty sure I’ve been slacking just to make sure I get by. That’s what happens when I decide to get sick..” you mumbled the last of your ranting so he wouldn’t hear you. Getting sick around this time of year hadn’t been an option and it still happened and it made you hate your immune system for making you suffer.
“Why not just move in with Jeonghan already to save costs? You’ve been together long enough.”
“I don’t think we’re ready for that yet,” you admitted. It’s not that the thought hadn’t crossed your mind before; it’s just that there were other things you wanted to do and get on your own before taking that next step.
“Okay so you spend all your money on him...and vice versa, you spend all your free time together, you pretty much spend weeks at each other’s places AND you’ve been together since the dawn of time...but no. Moving in together is too much of a commitment.”
“Oh hush before you make me late for work. Come on. I have annoying customers to attend to. Hopefully, they’ll be generous enough to leave me good tips.”
“‘Tis the season to be jolly,” he raised his coffee cup in a toast and sipped it.
*
“Isn’t she a beaut?” Jeonghan asked Seungcheol on his way to work. He sighed longingly at the Polaroid on display, wanting and wishing so desperately he’d be getting paid today just so could buy you your present right now.
“Very pretty,” he whistled. “I’m sure Y/N will love it.”
He nodded, still remembering the broken-hearted expression you had when you realized that you had forgotten it at the bus stop and he swore he’d buy you another one as soon as he could afford it. “I hope so. Y/N deserves all the good things in this world and I’ll try my hardest to make that happen.”
“You know I keep thinking that maybe one day you’ll realize that you’ll both be happy once you move in together.”
“We’ve talked about it but we’re not ready for that.”
“So you’re just gonna settle for buying yet another ridiculously expensive present.”
“Y/N needs this. Trust me.”
“And I need someone to help me pay rent because living alone sucks.”
“Didn’t Soonyoung have an opening available?”
“You really want me to have a stroke, huh? Last time he had Seungkwan over at his place...I had to help him scrape noodles off the ceiling.” He frowned. “And Minghao wasn’t pleased about the food stains on his book, so I had to give him my copy.”
“New plan, get into a relationship.”
“Yeah, that’s easy for you to say. You don’t have to worry about all that shit.”
“I got lucky,” Jeonghan shrugged nonchalantly. He turned his attention back to the vintage camera. “That’ll prove it.” He had slowly been saving up for that Polaroid for you, stopping by weekly to give a downpayment, and with this week’s paycheck, you’d surely be getting it tonight.
“Man, you guys are gross,” Seungcheol gagged. “Making me feel lonely with my single ass. Let’s go, Romeo. Otherwise, the only thing you’ll be getting is a pink slip.”
“I really hate Soonyoung,” he grumbled. “He got to be one of Santa’s elves and I’m fucking Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer.”
“And I’m a cashier who has to hear sob stories and threats over discounts that aren’t included with the shit they’re buying.” Jeonghan wasn’t sure if the tears were real or not, but he couldn’t blame him either way.
*
You walked out of the bathroom, still wondering how the smell of coffee made its way into your street clothes. You stuffed your uniform into your backpack, grateful to be out earlier than expected but trying not to think about how you were gonna make extra money before the rent. Tips weren’t too bad but you felt a little guilty for hoping for more. You’d find a way to manage; you always did.
Your coworkers wished you a happy holiday, as well as thanking you for the gifts and then you went next door to wait for Joshua since he texted you that he’d be leaving soon. The secretaries at the law firm didn’t give you a second glance other than greeting you. They were used to seeing you by now so they let you wait there. Luckily, he hardly kept you waiting so you were back out before the door even closed. He chatted about the potential clients and the ones who stuck out to him. You didn’t know how many cups of coffee he drank on the way to the antique store, but he never seemed jittery. But you guessed it went to you since you were buzzing and speeding up and rushing him to get there faster. You finally left him about half a block away to run inside to get someone to help take the record player to the register to pay the owner.
However, when Joshua caught up to you, you were frantically digging through your backpack looking for the small zip-loc that had all your savings for it. “Where is it?” You dumped everything out on the counter, hoping it’d be mixed in with your uniform or your wallet or anywhere else. “Joshua,” I can’t find it.” You tried not to cry, thinking if you went back to the restaurant, it’d be there in your locker, waiting for you. “I’m sorry, can you just keep this on hold for me? I left my money in my locker at work. I’ll be back with it as soon as possible.”
“I’m sorry, but if someone else wants it, we might have to sell it to them,” the owner said apologetically.
“No, please. I have the money. It’s for my boyfriend. That’s his Christmas gift. I’ll be back in an hour, I promise.”
*
“What do you mean I’m not getting paid?” Jeonghan asked his boss in disbelief.
“No, you’re still getting paid...it’s just delayed a couple of days. And that’s my fault for not seeing that I was overdrafted from one of my payments sooner.”
“And all my coworkers?”
“Are in the same position as you. I-It’s out of my hands.”
“Can’t you just give it to me in cash, sir? It’s an emergency.”
“My daughter just deposited everything that we made today. Jeonghan, I’m truly sorry. How else can I make it up to you?”
“It’s fine. Forget it.” The rush of emotions left him conflicted as he drove home. He didn’t have a backup plan for something like this. He just assumed that after work today, he’d be able to buy you your Christmas gift with no problem. He was pissed that it didn’t happen like that. He knew that banks messed up all the time but he couldn’t believe his luck. He promised you the greatest gift in the world, and now would he provide that? He threw your towels in the washer, knowing you’d want to shower after you got back from visiting your friends at Mingyu’s place. He tidied the room a little, looked for your slippers and made sure he had some ramen in case you came home hungry.
He went back out to the living room, car keys in hand, when he laid his eyes on his records...his most prized collection. A lot of them he had been buying since he started earning his money, and some he got for a really good deal. He always promised himself that one day, he’d get himself one just to be able to play his music. And then when you crossed his mind, he pictured you with the Polaroid in your hands as you took the pictures and in one swift movement, picked up the records and headed out.
*
You never understood how Jeonghan managed to tangle himself up in you but you never complained about it. If anything, you welcomed it because it was just something you liked...unless it was scorching hot and his body heat radiated off of him. “Hannie,” you called him softly. “Hannie, wake up.”
“Five more minutes, my love,” he mumbled. “I’m tired.”
“But Hannie, it’s Christmas! I wanna make you breakfast.”
“Stay with meeeeeee.” He sleepily pressed his lips to your cheek, not quite processing your words.
“Come on. You can sleep in the living room.”
“Jagi, can you make me pancakes?”
“Yes, come on. And take your blanket too so you’ll stay warm.”
“Can we stay in our pjs too?”
“Go nuts.”
He didn’t need his blanket because as soon as he turned on the TV, he woke up and flipped through the channels excitedly, looking for anything that hinted at his childhood. He looked under the Christmas tree, only two presents, a sure sign that they’d gotten older. His heart clenched at seeing his gift to you, which now looked like nothing compared to the one you wrapped for him. He didn’t wanna dwell on that. It was Christmas, you were here with him again and it was perfect. Breakfast too. He loved hearing you humming in the kitchen, and making small talk. He met you on the table but you shook your head and went to the living room and sat on the floor. You patted the spot next to you and you watched the movie playing in silence. You looked like you were in a good mood, and he couldn’t complain. And then you mentioned opening presents and he felt the nerves turn icy in his veins.
“Okay. Do you want to open mine first or do you want me to start?” He didn’t give you the chance to speak since he handed you your and he waited.
You took your time unwrapping it, trying to figure out what he could’ve gotten you. “Is this what I think it is?” You finally decided to tear it open, and you tried not to cry. “It’s a...Polaroid,” you said quietly. You could feel the lump in your throat, touched at the fact that he got it for you. “Thank you.”
“I know it can’t replace your old one, but I know you missed taking photos. Here, why don’t you take one of me while I open yours?”
“I think I’d rather just capture the moment as is.” You leaned closer to him while he unwrapped his, nearly helping him because of your excitement.
“It’s a record player,” he said in the same voice you just used. “Thank you.”
“Yeah, I know how you’ve been dying for this and it’s what you deserve. Now, why don’t you put one of your favorite albums so I can hear your beautiful voice?”
He surprised you by taking your hands in his. “Y/N, do you know how happy you make me and how I’ll do anything to see you smile?” He kissed your hands when you nodded and continued. “Yesterday, I wasn’t able to get paid, so I had to sell my records to get your Polaroid.” He didn’t need to tell you that he had to stop at several places because many of the owners didn’t offer the prices he needed to buy it for you.
“Jeonghan, why?” he wiped away a tear that had fallen. Your heart broke at his sacrifice and you felt so selfish.
“Because I love you. Now start taking pictures and hang them up everywhere you can. Your photograph...why are you crying? Jagi, please don’t cry. You're more important to me than those. I can always buy more.”
“Jeonghan, I sold all my film to buy you this record player,” you admitted. “I lost the money I saved up for it and they were gonna give it to someone else. You love music so much and it was the first thing I thought of.”
To your surprise, he started laughing so hard his own tears started falling and then it was your turn to wipe them. “Baby, why would you do that for me?”
“Because I love you. More than anything, even my stupid hobby.”
He didn’t know what else to do, so he grabbed your face and placed kisses everywhere he could until he just held you close to him. He rested you close to his heart, content despite everything. “Man, we’re just a couple of fools, aren’t we?”
You didn’t answer him, the steady beating of his heart matching with yours. You still couldn’t believe that he loved you this much. And you loved him just as much. You’d already known that you were gonna spend the rest of your life with him, but this just solidified any doubts you may have had.
“Jagi?” He tried again.
“Hmm?”
“I know this is long overdue and we’ve only talked about this a couple of times, but would you just move in with me already? I don’t know if I can handle being apart from you much longer. It doesn’t to be right away-”
“How about after the new year?”
“Really? Are you sure?”
“Jeonghan, after what you did for me...how can I say no? Besides, it took us long enough, right?’
“I love you...so fucking much.”
And I love you...just as fucking much,” you said, placing a soft kiss to his lips.

Rewatch: Mahou Tsukai Precure Ep 3
Tumblr media
Hey hey hey~!
I made it to Sunday with another MahoPre post again! Praise me, won’t you?
*bows extravagantly* ( -∀-)シ
ALSO, HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY TO ALL YOU GREAT MOMMIES OUT THERE!! WHERE WOULD WE BE WITHOUT YOU?!  (。^▽^。)/ ♡
Yaaaaa, you know the animation quality really went up when not only the new transformation sequence was top notch but the episode it debuted in was as well. Really! Everything was so sparkly and purdy~
Like Mirai and Mofu-chan’s excited faces, kyaaaaa~! xD
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ahem, so we start off with Mirai calling home and let’s just say she’s very lucky it was Grandma who picked up.
I don’t know how long Mirai’s been gone but judging by how Grandma’s first question is about Mirai’s search instead of asking where she is right now, maybe she hasn’t been gone too long to raise any alarms yet.
In any case, the beginning of the phone call was hilarious cuz though Grandma shares Mirai’s belief in witches and magic, I’m pretty sure she never expected for Mirai to be contacting her from another realm, much less hear that she’s become a witch herself.
She’s like “Huh? Wut?” xD;
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then there’s Mirai. Oh god, Mirai.
She really is the type to spill almost every detail out in a jumbled manner and gesture frantically on the other end of the line even though there’s no way her Grandma can actually see her, lol I do the same thing when I talk over the phone
Meanwhile, Headmaster and Riko are just standing awkwardly in the background, watching this girl play charades in front of a crystal ball.
(^ ∀ ^ ;;)
Tumblr media
Anyways, despite all the rushed explanations, Mirai wants to attend class here and asks for permission.
Naturally, any normal parent/guardian would say “no” because first of all, what the heck is she going on about? Flying brooms? Magic World? WAT? Did you hit your head while playing or something?
I mean, even the most understanding person would just assume Mirai found a new friend at the playground who introduced her to some secret hangout or whatever and that Mirai just wants to stay out longer to have fun, that’s all.
But nuh-uh! Mirai’s really in the Magic World right now and she really wants to enroll in magic school for the rest of spring break!
Tumblr media
Miraculously (and again, she is so lucky it was Grandma who picked up), she does get the okay.
Grandma actually believes Mirai will be alright with these strangers in some foreign place she’s never heard of. She’s never met them, there’s no address or even a phone number she can call to check up on Mirai. For all she knows, her granddaughter could’ve been tricked and kidnapped by some shady hoodlums.
But over the phone, it doesn’t seem that Mirai is any danger...and since she sounds so eager, well then, alright. Grandma chooses to trust Mirai.
Tumblr media
Cue joyous, major squee-able hug! <D
But on a serious note, PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW THIS IN REAL LIFE, OKAY?!
(O_ O ;;)
It’s somewhat forgivable in an children’s anime where things are more idyllic and even Mirai’s situation is an exception among exceptions because of plox.
But if your kid is asking to stay out in some vague location with people who don’t have your trust to look out for their well-being, then you get in your car or call the police or do whatever’s necessary to bring them home immediately!
...come to think of it, I wonder how Mirai’s parents reacted when Grandma told them the news. By the time Mirai got back home, they seemed pretty cool with it but Mirai should’ve at least called them every day (off-screen) to ensure she’s alright so that they didn’t have to worry a lot while she was away.
I dunno, please don’t mind me too much on this matter. I'm just very sensitive when it comes to the safety of children, that’s all. The news and living in the city scared me into being cautious.
Tumblr media
Honestly, I wouldn’t mind becoming an Uber driver as long it’s a magic carpet I’m flying.
But I’m not sure what the insurance policy on that is like and it doesn’t look like there are seat belts either which is a tad bit concerning. Hmm...
Tumblr media
Bouncy-wouncy flippy-floppy Mofurun~!
Look at this happy bear~! She’s having the time of her life!
Ugh, my heart~!!! x3333
Tumblr media
I believe this is the first time Mirai’s had the chance to tell Riko something about herself and it’s quite nice that Riko was the one who (sorta) initiated the interest this time around.
We all know what Riko’s like. She’s not fond of people being too chummy with her because if they get to know her, they’ll learn how bad she is at magic as well. That’s why she’s always trying to maintain a distance. Trying not to interact with others too much and not volunteer too much info about herself so she can uphold an image she doesn’t really possess and protect where she’s most vulnerable. Tsundere defense mechanism in the works.
For her to reach out to Mirai, even if it’s only out of some courteous small talk and minimal curiosity, maybe it means she’s gradually becoming more comfortable. At least in Mirai’s company, there’s no need to have her guard up that high and she can talk to someone normally for once.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mirai, on the other hand, is the honest type through and through and is thrilled to share anything about what she loves.
Her bright, sincere personality and close relationship with her grandma shows how well she was raised because no matter how wild or out of this world Mirai’s thoughts can get sometimes, those closest to her never ridiculed or made her think less of herself for that. That’s why she’s almost always able to face anything with open optimism. She’s free to be unapologetically herself because she has that kind of reassurance.
It’s a security that many people would die to have.
Tumblr media
And Riko is one of those people.
Listening to Mirai talk warmly about her grandmother brings a slightly lonely expression to her face because Riko doesn’t have anyone like that. No one whom she can talk to about anything and everything, no one whom she can show her true self to without fear of being judged by them.
No one to call a real friend.
Well, guess what, Riko? Ya got right one in front of ya, dont’cha? Hahaha~!
She just doesn’t realize it yet.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Moving along, damn, the whole island is occupied by magic merchants and their shops!
Diagon Alley can’t even begin to compare!
Yep. If there’s any Precure universe I want to live in, it’s definitely this one! 8D
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At the center of the giant square, of course there’s a statue and of course there’s a story to go along with it and of course, there’s an old man (by the name of Mr. Hook) just waiting to tell that story to whoever’s new in town.
Nevertheless, this story is a rather interesting one in respect to the Linkle Stone Ruby that’s set to appear later.
The Merchant Alley is where people gather to sell their trades and goods. It’s a place where they can share the work they’re proud of and passionate about.
And Ruby is the Linkle Stone of what? Passion.
So the Passion Flame was pretty much the Linkle Stone Ruby all along and it returned to remind the people of the magic they still have within themselves.
This slightly debunks the idea that the Linkle Stones will only appear when Precure do but it doesn’t change the fact that Ruby’s true form didn’t manifest until Mirai and Riko came to the Alley.
Anyways, on another note, isn’t it an extremely heartwarming thought that even though Mother Rapapa has been gone for centuries, her magic hasn’t disappeared and that it still extends itself to help people when they’re in need? Even now, Mother Rapapa still loves and wants to protect the world she defended with her very life which just goes to prove that the most ancient and most powerful magic of all is indeed, love.
Love never dying means magic never dying.
Aaaaahhhh~, that’s so beautiful! *sniff* <’D
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Aww, but I wanted to hear about Pegasus Lane!
( •́ ∧ •̀ )
Tumblr media
Ok, ok, maybe some other time.
At least we got Riko taking Mirai’s hand to lead her away instead. Me is a happy gurl~ <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But then Mofurun says she smells something sweet and duh, it’s clearly Ruby sitting in the statue’s lamp but they don’t know that yet so they all assume it’s just the cotton candy from a street vendor near by.
Well, their reaction was adorbs anyway.
D’aww, omgawd, look at Mirai, trying to tug Riko in the direction of sweets and Riko having none of that. Kekekeke! xD
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ok, before we go in, I just want to say that I adore Francois and all the fabulousness he’s packaged with!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But more than that, I love how he’s always so kind to people who visit his shop, especially the girls. He’s always eager to give them the best fashion he can offer and since he learned his trade in the Mundane World, it’s probably safe to say he isn’t at all prejudiced against anyone from there either.
But also, also...!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He knows how to recognize CUTE when he sees it!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh yea, Francois is my spirit animal.
Poor Mofurun, though. She looks so traumatized. xD;
Tumblr media
My daughter is soooooo cute! Don’t you agree?
*pokes you in the back with ten needles* (*°∀°)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Man, if I could do magic......I would probably still go out to buy clothes instead of making them myself. It’s less about not having the talent to design and more about gathering the material that would be a pain for me. I’d rather leave that to the professionals.
That said, since it’s magic we’re talking about, I hope retail prices are a lot lower over there since production requires less manual labor. Or should it be magical labor?
Well, it takes less time if an outfit can be fitted and finished within the hour so that’s a plus at least.
Tumblr media
Mmhmm. *nods appreciatively*
I wasn’t lying when I said this uniform is one of my (if not the) top favorite school uniform designs across all Precure seasons.
The colors, the plaid bows, and ugh, the HAT!!
...I wanna be a witch, too. TwT
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Honestly, Francois is just one of the best recurring characters. Period.
He’s so thoughtful, going the extra mile even when he doesn’t really have to. He’s not in it for the famous name or money, he just wants to make sure his clients look good and feel good looking good.
What an artisan!
(Btw, Mofurun still uses the same pouch when Mirai grows up and I just find that so awesome because they’re continuing to treat a gift from Francois with such care~ <3)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I mean, fixing a loose button is a small task. Hardly worth mentioning but with Riko falling so often (*discontent Riko noises*), you’d think Francois would be exasperated about her always ruining her clothes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nope.
He just goes and sews it back in place without charge, gently telling Riko in his own special way for her to be more careful.
Riko doesn’t miss the sentiment behind his words and really, you’d have to be blind to not see how all the people Riko knows really care about her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
More locals to meet and this one is Todd and he sells produce!
Not much to say about him other than he’s a nice dude, offering Mirai a sample of what a Frozen Clementine really tastes like.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
lol, oh Riko, don’t take it so personally. These things happen. <D;
Also, that’s two strikes for Riko today. I wouldn’t be surprised if the whole town was aware of how clumsy she is.
At least, none of them are mean about it or deliberately poking fun at her. Riko’s just a little too sensitive is all.
Tumblr media
Again, the shifts through Riko’s many faces when eating clementines are fun to watch.
It’s okay, Riko! You’ll get there eventually!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wouldn’t put it past an eccentric, old man like him to do something like that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I mean, I’m positive that the Headmaster’s character is partially inspired by Albus Dumbledore who also fits these kind of descriptions so yea...
Tumblr media
YEA.
Meanwhile, I am living for the savageness that Cathy is unrepentantly laying on the Deputy Headmistress concerning her stickler-policy/no-outsider opinions.
Nothing against the Deputy Head since she does come around eventually but hell yea, Miss Sassy Crystal Ball! xD;
Tumblr media
Next up is Gustav’s, where Mirai gets her own broom!
God, I love this broom so much. It’s simple but so charming!! Perfect for a young witch!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nooooooo, Riko-chan~
That’s not what she meant! (^ ∀ ^ ;;)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ooo, that’s three strikes now!
Riko really can’t catch a break, huh?
Tumblr media
I wonder how many times everybody in town has heard this reply, lol
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Y’know, these shopkeepers have known Riko since she was little so for them to comment on Mirai accompanying her today just further supports the idea that they’re always watching out for her however they can.
Riko’s an awkward kid who’s trying too hard to act and see through the eyes of an adult and that’s why she blunders so much.
But perhaps, if they were to point that out too directly, it’ll just make Riko feel more ashamed or make her more stubborn than she already is.
If that’s true, then I’d like to think they all agreed to just give Riko her space and let her grow into it in her own time. They’ll still support her every now and then (because she needs it) but they won’t overdo it to the point where she’ll notice and misunderstand it as an remark on her poor skills in magic.
Anyways, at least Gustav seems happy to see Riko’s finally got a friend to spend time with. As much as Riko’s unsure about calling Mirai her friend, no one’s going to deny that Riko not being alone anymore is a good thing for her, hehe~
Tumblr media
They got to eat cotton candy, after all! YAY~!
Gotta say, this might just be the best way to eat cotton candy cuz it just levitates a little above your hand and you don’t have to worry about holding onto a stick and then the candy melting onto the stick and your hands getting messy cuz of that and whatnot.
Also, it really makes it look like you’re munchin’ on a cloud. Cute, right? :D
Tumblr media
So far, Mirai is having a superb day. She got the whole magic user starter kit and it really feels like she’s become a witch now.
Tumblr media
But as Riko says, it takes more than just looking the part to be a genuine practitioner of magic.
I wonder if she realizes how contradictory she sounds here because if she knew that all along, then that would label her search for the Emerald as hypocritical.
Tumblr media
Though it’s possible she only realized this after coming back from her recent trip to the Mundane World empty-handed.
Still, there’s no doubt the Emerald’s profound and mythical qualities would be desired by many, including those who are efficient in magic. Nobody is really sure what it’s capable of but since it’s reputed to be the rarest and most powerful of the Linkle Stones, we can at least expect it to live up to its name in some way.
And when Riko overheard the Headmaster talking about it in his office, well, who can really blame her for shooting off to go find it then?
If anything, had she found it, Riko probably would’ve used the Emerald to figure out why her magic seldom worked out the way she wanted it to. Then from there, she’d do whatever she could in her own power to make herself a great witch.
...Maybe.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mirai, however, is more impressed by how brave and aggressive Riko is on fulfilling her dream.
In fact, she’s more amazed by Riko than the Emerald itself and doesn’t think her search for the Emerald sounds ridiculous at all.
To her, Riko is a hard worker and she should be acknowledged just for how much effort she puts into becoming a witch worthy of respect.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But when she asks what Riko means by stuff like “excellent” or “splendid”, even Riko’s not sure.
Of course, even if you have a good amount of magical prowess, that doesn’t automatically mean you’re a great magic user.
Rather, it should be how you use your magic that determines whether you are great or not.
I guess that’s why Riko suddenly turned that question back on Mirai. Because as of this moment, she’s only looking for ways to cast her spells without them backfiring on her. She hasn’t given much thought on what she can do with magic once she does have it in her hands.
Riko doesn’t have an answer yet. And because she doesn’t want to appear like she doesn’t, her walls go up again in an attempt to prevent anyone else from realizing how unsure she actually is inside.
But you know what?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mirai’s not sure about her own dream either.
She’s never thought of it before now and nothing really comes to mind just because she’s asked out of the blue like this. However, that doesn’t really bother her.
It’d be awesome if one day, she can find something to dedicate herself to like Riko does...but until then, there’s no need to rush or stress it. If she’s meant to find it, then she’ll find it eventually.
Having a dream should be a wonderful thing, after all. It’s not something you must have but something you want, something you choose to pursue.
I believe that’s what makes Riko so special in Mirai’s eyes. Because despite all the doubts and hardships that come with it, Mirai can tell Riko truly cherishes her desire to become a fine witch some day.
If she didn’t, Riko wouldn’t have needed to try so hard. But she did and is still trying because she really wants it. That is what earned her Mirai’s admiration.
Tumblr media
Not sure if those feelings reached Riko but at least it seems that she knows Mirai respects and understands her to extent in that regard, which then draws out a smile from her as well.
Cuz c’mon, it’s just nice to talk these things out with a friend.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That’s right, they’re definitely friends now.
They’re laughing together and the atmosphere is very light and pleasant and happy.
Just look at Mofurun, the perfect mood indicator. If that’s not enough to show how well our girls are getting along, then I don’t know what is.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ugh, unfortunately if there’s a good mood going on, a mood ruiner is never too far off.
This time it’s Sparda and she introduces herself by stealing Mirai’s Diamond pendant. *GASP* BAD! >:(
Demands are made for the Emerald’s location, Mirai loudly defies the villain again and villain decide to wreck things as a response. Yada yada yada, same old, same old.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Except with them missing one Diamond and unable to transform into Precure, they really can’t do anything to stop Sparda.
As the situation becomes grimmer, so does the anger start to build within Riko as she surveys the damage of the town.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We even get a mini-montage of a younger Riko (OMG ISN’T SHE THE SWEETEST LIL’ WITCH-IN-TRAINING?!?!? KYAAA~!!! xDD) on her first time visiting all the shops, essentially telling us how many important memories she’s made here and how much the people who helped her mean to her.
Tumblr media
This finally, finally makes her blow her top.
How dare this cretin selfishly trample all over the innocent people trying to do their daily jobs peacefully! How dare this insect woman make a mess of their community, a place where everybody works so hard to support each other, without remorse!
That is absolutely unforgivable!!
...but at the same time, Riko releasing her anger is just what they needed. Her feelings are now fully synchronized with Mirai’s...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
...which causes the Ruby to awaken and reveal its true form to them.
Hmm, this is really fascinating because we can interpret it to mean that passion, the idea that the Ruby represents, is linked to many emotions and not just a strong sense of love towards something.
Or you can say even “negative” emotions like anger or sorrow can also be proof of a very strong love.
Considering that rage and passion are often symbolized through flames and fire imagery, I’d say that the connection between those two is really appropriate for these turn of events.
But moving along...
Tumblr media
THE BIRTH OF RUBY STYLE~!!!
(⋈◍>◡<◍)。✧♡
I’ll go into my thoughts on this design another day but ahhh, I do so love this Form Change to death. Have a hard time deciding if this is my top favorite among the MahoPre forms.
Tumblr media
As for the battle, well, sad to say this one wasn’t worth writing home about either. And I think the animation quality dropped a little around this part of the ep. Not sure why there’s a sudden inconsistency when there wasn’t that much “fighting” going on.
But again, I’m not here to write about the battle scenes (until maybe post-Felice debut), which are more or less the same anyway so I’d just be repeating myself if I were. I’m here for the chemistry between the girls, the character studies and so on.
Some key highlights, though, because I couldn’t ignore them:
Tumblr media
Mofurun catching the Diamond back like one would catch a home run ball.
I’M SO PROUD OF YOU, MY BABY!!!!!
x3
Tumblr media
This kick.
This kick is everything.
Miracle and Magical grabbing each other’s hands to help propel their feet at the Yokubaru.
And then the ice thawing immediately upon impact, a call out to the Frozen Clementines they always eat and further demonstration of symbolism of passion through fire because heat melts ice.
Looks like this might’ve been the first time Riko was successful in using this type of magic. Too bad you can’t really eat it. But not that you’d really want to, lol
Tumblr media
Then Ruby Passionale and another day saved.
Yay~
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And now everybody’s witnessed the legend in the flesh!
lol, Miracle being polite to the crowd while Mofurun is trying to hide her face ("No pictures, please-mofu!”) and Magical is so close to freaking out cuz they gotta get outta here before their transformations become undone and their true identities are found out and ohhh, we don’t want to stick around to find out what that’s gonna be like......
Tumblr media
...so they leave by leaping to the rooftops.
Classic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Later that day, they go to pick up Mirai’s broom and aww, that’s so nice of Gustav to give her a cute ribbon as an extra service!
It comes in both her and Riko’s colors, too! How did he know?!?!?!? 8D
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And he even gave one to Riko to match with Mirai!
Ugh, Gustav is so awesome. I want to buy him a steak dinner.
I’ll buy dinner for any character in story who helps me ship my ship, hahaha! xD
Tumblr media
Hehe, my lovely girls~
I love them soooo much. <3
Mmkay, I’m done for the day. I think I can manage to do one more post for next week. Then we’ll see what happens from there cuz I’ll be going back to work soon.

Savior : Chapter 10
"Stop! What's that?" The man who had a rifle in his hand asked.
Currently the team were in Grey Terminal. This started when they were talking about food and suddenly Ace started talking about the food they get inside the gate beyond Grey Terminal.
Now they were all staked up, wearing a cloak dragging a covered dead crocodile as a way to get through the inspection and inside their desired place.
"It's crocodile leather for sale." Ace said. He then removed the cloth on the crocodile to prove his statement.
The gate keeper flinched back in surprise. "Go ahead." He said.
After that they were able to go inside but as soon as they entered Emilia noted that a rather large amount of people were surrounding the entrance. Obviously thieves that were trying to rob the goods.
"It seems that you're carrying a valuable thing there." One of the men carrying a stick said. "How about you leave it here."
Other men also started surrounding them while laughing. The man who first talked to them boldly approached them. "Oi! Say something."
"Shut up, you small fry." Ace said without hesitation. Luffy who was at the bottom  of the pile then swung his iron pipe, (which male trio were carrying)making the man fall.
"Before you rob..." Ace started as he pulled the cloak revealing themselves. "You should choose your targets wisely."
After revealing themselves, the thieves immediately recognised them and took a step back. The children without hesitation jumped and started attacking.
Emilia was the only one without the iron pipe. She rather wanted to see how strong her armament haki was.
Emilia punched the guy in front of her without a second thought. This made the guy being thrown  near by, making a hole on the wall .
Emilia sweat dropped mentally noteing to not use it against normal people. After not even 5 minutes of fighting, they had beaten all the guys and started dressing up again.
.........
Emilia stared at the shop keeper in front of her currently out of their disguise. "Huh? 20,000 Beli? Uncle, you can clearly see that this one is pure leather."
"Yes. That is why I'm buying it for 20,000. It's a rather great deal of you ask me." The shop keeper said trying to trick the small girl.
"I'm pretty sure this won't be any less than 60,000 Beli and I offered that for 50,000." Emilia said crossing her hands not budging.
Ace,Sabo and Luffy had no idea how to do this stuff and left it entirely on Emilia. At first they were happy that they could sell it for 20,000 but when Emilia mentioned the real cost, they couldn't be more happy to have her who knows the values of stuff since she does a lot of reading.
"I see..." Emilia sighed.
The shop keeper smiled. Even though she know the cost of her products , she is nothing more than a child after all.
"I guess I'll sell it in another shop." Emilia said turning back. "Let's go, you guys."
"W-wait!" The shop keeper said. "I....I'll buy it."
Emilia smiled.
..........
"They paid us a good price for the crocodile ." Sabo said. "More money for our pirate savings."
"Yeah!" Ace agreed in a low tone since they were still in disguise. "Thanks Emilia."
"I was quite nervous since it was my first time negotiating." Emilia said.
"I'm hungry." Luffy who was at the very bottom, complained.
"Just wait." Ace replied. "You'll get to eat some delicious ramen soon."
"Ramen? What's that?" Sabo questioned. "Is it that delicious."
"I don't care, let's hurry up and eat." Luffy said.
Soon they came in front of a rather large building and entered it.
"Welcome." The man, probably the chef greeted but stopped them after seeing their unpleasant  appearance. "W-wait, you can't come in our restaurant!"
Sabo then showed a golden circular thing and said. "I want a private room."
After that the man jumped back and bowed, quickly showing them their room.
"Four bowls of Ramen! Sorry for the wait." The waitress greeted and then left.
"So this is ramen?" Sabo asked quickly followed by "It looks delicious" by Luffy.
Emilia eyes also glowed as she stared at the food in front of her.She never tasted ramen after coming to this world after all.
All of them started eating and soon finished and again ordered.Emilia was full from her second plate and didn't eat from them on.
"Emilia you're not eating anymore?" Ace asked.
"No...I'm full." Emilia replied. She really wonder how did these boys eat so much and was still so skinny.
"Then can I have your share?" Luffy asked as he ate.
" Go ahead."
They kept on ordering again and again that Emilia had started feeling bad for the staff.
"Excuse me." The waitress knocked bringing new set of bowls. But then Luffy who was distracted stretched his hand and reached out for the bowl making the waitress squeal in horror .
"Oh..." Emilia who witnessed the scene smiled. "We should go now that our cover is blown."
"Wait let me eat some more." Luffy said as he continued eating.
Not even a minute later the door opened . "Sir,please explain..."
"Run!" Sabo said as all of them rushed towards the window, breaking it and then jumped.
"The ramen was delicious." Sabo said as he was falling.
"I told you." Ace replied.
"I should try making it as well." Emilia said.
"I can't wait!" Luffy exclaimed.
You can imagine how other people saw this scene where children who were falling were talking mid-air calmly.
They then safely landed and started bolting.
"Stop! Some one catch them!" One of the sheriffs who spotted them shouted.
"Is that you,Sabo?! Wait!" One of the man who they ran pass by started shouting. "You were alive!"
Sabo stopped and looked back along with Emilia,Ace and Luffy.
"Sabo, that man's calling for you!" Ace said.
"Who is that?" Luffy questioned.
Emilia then realised who that man and where Sabo was from. She put all the pieces in place from when Sabo talked about nobles, certain time which showed Sabo was well educated, had a noble's belonging and now a man was calling out for him. However she didn't comment.
"He must be mistaken.Lets go"
......
They were currently back in the forest and as soon as they reached a safe distance Ace and Luffy started interrogating Sabo.
"What..Im not hiding anything." Sabo said, as he was backed in a corner.
"Really?" Luffy said, oblivious already believing him.
"It's obvious he is hiding something!" Ace shouted. "Are you really keeping going to keep a secret from us?!"
"I told you already...I'm not hiding anything." Sabo looked away clearly a sign of lying.
"Talk already or I'll make you talk."Ace and Luffy grabbed Sabo and then started 'a forceful interrogration'.
"Sabo." Emilia called out making the boys stop fighting momentarily. "It's fine to reveal it. I'm sure they'll understand."
"Emilia, you already knew about it?!" Luffy questioned.
"No.I just found it out myself in the town." Emilia quickly denied.
Sabo then nodded and started explaining his story.
"Ehhhh?! A noble's son." Ace and Luffy questioned in unison. "....who is?"
"Me!!!" Sabo shouted.
Ace and Luffy then shoved their pinky finger deep in their nose. "So?"
"You guys were the ones who asked it." Emilia said, sweat dropping at the scene suddenly remembering Garp. Seriously this family....
"I'm not an orphan and both my parents are alive." Sabo explained. "And the man who we saw today is my father."
The other trio just stared quietly waiting for the blond haired boy to continue. "I'm sorry for lying to you." Sabo apologised looking down.
"You apologied so I forgive  you." Luffy said crossing his arms. Emilia looked at Luffy smiling. This child is always so pure, always giving out love attracting people to him along the way.
"Honesty I'm shocked " Ace said turning his back and facing the sea "Why would you do this if you're a noble's son?"
"I ran away from home...." Sabo started remembering his childhood memories when he was with his parents "...because they only care about money and status but not me. I had to study all day since if I am unable to marry a girl from a royal family, I'll be considered  crap."
Emilia stared at the boy in front of her. She had been lucky to be born into a loving family so she can't completely understand Sabo but then she can't help but feel saddened for him.
"For that family I was a nuisance.Sorry if I offend you, but even though I had parents I felt lonely!" Sabo shouted. "People in Grey Terminal were not like the nobles ,but for me I liked it better there."
"I see...Now I understand." Ace stated.
Sabo then stood up now smiling. "We'll definitely set sail and leave this country. I wanna know this world and then write a book on my adventures!"
"I don't mind studying navigation. I'll be stronger and then become a pirate!" Sabo shouted arms in the air. This caused all of them to smile.
" I know, you don't have to tell me that." Ace started "I'll become a pirate and keep on fighting, until I'm the most famous! That's the way I'll prove my existence. "
"I don't care if those bastards don't acknowledge my existence or how much they hate me...I'll  become a great pirate and I'll face them." Ace shouted with determination in his eyes. " I won't run away from anyone, I won't lose against anyone neither will  I be afraid of anyone. Everyone will know my name!"
When Ace said these words a wave of emotion rushed through Emilia. She didn't know how to describe it. She felt proud at the same time she felt un easy. But one thing sure was that she really wanted to see Ace grow more.Staying with him and the others made her really attached to them.
This world at first was just a fiction but now this has become a reality. And all the times they have spend together is real.
Luffy who was next to her, laughed and then rushed forward. "I'll find One Piece and then become the Pirate King!!!"
"Huh?!" Both Ace and Sabo exclaimed as Luffy just laughed.
"I have no idea what your saying...You just talk nonsense" Ace said scratching his head while Sabo just laughed.
Emilia then walked forward and looked at the sea.
"My dream is..." She started talking as she turned and  faces them. " to make sure you guys keep your promises and do my best to support them."
The boys all had a questioning face but soon started fighting about who will be the captain (again ) as Emilia looked at them with a smile.
She really was happy.
