Please tell me everything you know about c!niki xD
THIS IS GONNA BE HELLA LONG SO HERE YOU GO
so niki first joined l'manberg - contrary to popular belief - AFTER the revolution, along w jack manifold. she joined bc she was good friends with wilbur and tommy. she opened up a bakery after consulting her diary/chat, and it ended up being pretty successful. not too succesful, but successful. during the elections, she decided to support her friend (childhood friend? the timeline is fucked up bc of c!fundy existing lbr) and together she and fundy made COCONUT2020. she didn't think she'd win, only really did it for fun, and supported wilbur even though she didn't join his party then her best friend and friend got exiled, and so she was understandably distraught and angry schlatt's reign was one of her low points. not her lowest, but pretty damn low if i do say so myself. she was tormented during this time by schlatt himself, and he made fun of her for her relationship with wilbur, called her things like a "wrench", he taxed her (to the point where she had to run away!), and he imprisoned her. it doesn't help that her childhood(?) friend betrayed her burnt down the flag that she had made for l'manberg (its so sad actually, listen to it) she had a birthday party that while i didnt watch ive heard that wilbur threatened to blow up l'manberg so yeah then she saw her younger brother-like figure get executed onstage, then almost got executed herself, when wilbur managed to get her away then it is DEVASTATING as she finally finds out abt how things have been going in pogtopia (especially for the viewers who only watched niki's pov). she had thought that they had a plan, that they were working things out, when really they haven't even got a semblance of a plan the pit fight happens, and then after she goes up to listen to one of tommy's discs with tubbo and tommy themselves during the manberg v pogtopia war, she fights for pogtopia and watches schlatt die and the nation become wilbur's again. then, of course, comes the part that all old school c!niki fans will remember... during the celebration they had just after tubbo gained presidency, she accidentally uncovered a small part of the wall and saw tnt. she went still, then covered it up, on the assumption that wilbur wouldn't blow it up BOY was she wrong her home gets destroyed (watch this and skip forwards until niki's pov), and she doesnt find out that wilbur dies until much, much later. to honour him, she starts wearing his coat. everything goes fine for a little while, and she yknow dates puffy (*SOBS* im unbiased im unbiased.... *sob*), and then doesnt find out abt tommy's exile until much later AFTER that. she doesnt really get in on the lore much during the inbetween period of tommy's exile and doomsday except for her city being built more. then, during doomsday, she gets angry at tommy and says that he couldn't just walk in there and assume everyone would be on his side, she also shouts at ranboo abt sides and stuff. later, she apologizes to ranboo and says that if ranboo fights for l'manberg, she will too. ranboo ends up doing nothing except watching everything unfold, and so niki does the same, except for one thing. she burns down the l'mantree, also known as her canonical lowest point. after that, she hears ghostbur speaking and has a panic attack, trying to reassure herself that "he's gone, he's gone, he's gone" and because shes too flooded w memories, she ends up blowing up her bakery. afterwards, however, she goes down into her secret city and isolates herself from everybody except for jack, who she plots to kill tommy with. she takes tommy to a nuclear test site and almost manages to kill him, but JUST misses him, somehow after this attempt, she scurries back to her little hole like a cryptid and (this is, in my opinion, her lowest point) isolates herself even MORE. she has contact with exactly 1 person during this whole period of four-five canonical(??) months, and it results in her mental health getting worse. technoblade visits her at the start of this, offering her a position as an anarchist to which she gives him a "maybe, after
i kill tommy" she gets night terrors, and keeps herself in a literal CELL so that she doesnt go anywhere when she sleepwalks, also punches the walls whenever she wakes up from a nightmare, which is often. eventually tho, she accepts techno's offer and joins the syndicate, naming herself as nemesis as a reference to her past self she manages to heal a substantial amount, finally having: a) a group that lets her speak (which is SO important for her, its actually the key to her entire arc) and b) socialization! however this takes a big turn, when she hears that wilbur's back she tries to play it off, then goes the l'manhole or l'crater, reminisces about wilbur betraying her (may i note the rocketduo where she looks pointedly at manifoldland and says "and GOD you deserved so much better dgsayufasyufgasuy) she grabs wilbur's diamonds, some of the first ever items she got in the SMP, then hides them in the wall, as a sign of her closing off from wilbur
PHHOOOOOOEEY THAT WAS A LONG ONE
okay so imma go with this writing cause its fun. so, you asked a few questions in response to the ask you gave me!! so lets go 1) why does she feel betrayed by wilbur? because she was one of the first people she met (canonically) on the SMP. he promised her that it would be a land of peace, prosperity, but she started loving it BECAUSE of wilbur. case and point: when wilbur asks whether she's loyal to l'manberg, she goes "yes, i'm loyal to you, wil." "no, no, not to me- to l'manberg" she quite literally wore his coat around the SMP as a symbol of her friendship and dedication towards him, because they were honestly the best of friends, and she THOUGHT she knew it. points out) and its the way she's learnt to do things. also remember: c!Niki is an unreliable narrator, that's the whole point of her character. it's a response to trauma (as @tubboblr pointed out) you're also probably wondering why she burnt down the l'mantree. and it's not because she "finally realized that l'manberg was bad" it was actually really simple: she wanted to be heard. she had been beaten down and talked over SO much (aka the BASIS for her arc) that she's so desperate to be heard she'll take desperate measures. another reason is because she finally loses hope in l'manberg. she loved it, loves it, but she just lost hope in it. she never hated it. she LOVED it, with all her heart. she just didnt believe it had any hope to be the place she had thought it was. if you have any other questions, let me know!!

Chapter 1: The Crimson Horror
Tumblr media
Summary: After falling victim to curiosity and finding yourselves in the clutches of the dastardly mrs Gillyflower and her strangely silent partner mr sweet- the now cured master, after escaping from the factories reject pile and surviving the failed preservation process, descends onto Sweetville with one mission: finding and saving his human. That is, if he can find you- and if you can be saved...
Notes: oh my god, its finally here! I've been so excited to start this series, the reception to the announcement was absolutely heartwarming! I've had so many ideas for where i can take this, i hope you all enjoy!
A big thank you to @plethora-of-imagines , you've been the complete supportive backbone of this series! I hope you enjoy! ❤
The gate to Sweetville loomed through the late night mist, piercing the dark through the weak glow of the streetlamps flanking its entrance. The Master stood before the wrought iron, TCE gripped tight in his palm. The air was cold, the Yorkshire chill biting at the back of his neck. But the rage inside him burnt hotter than any fire ever could.
He knew you were there, you had to be. There was no possible way you'd ended up on the reject pile like he did, the pilgrims at the factory would've made sure you survived the process. Too many rejects caused too many questions, are you were far too beautiful an Eve to miss out on mrs Gillyflower's home grown eden.
The lock on the gate cracked with a metalic whirr, the Master slipping between the open bars and descending on the row of houses before him. Perfectly pristine doors and windows lined the house's of Sweetville's main street, the flowerbeds decorating the center soon trodden under the Master's vengeful feet.
Instinct told him to kick each door down, rampaging the Victorian utopia until he found where they'd kept you. But he knew, for your sake, he had to stick to the silent dark. Exposing his presence would no doubt ruin any chance of getting you back to the revivication chamber and curing you of your petrified state. If you could be cured, that is.
The horrified expression on your face when you'd both been brought to the front door still burned inside his head, the petrified people soon exposed alongside the dome they resided in. You'd instinctively dived into his arms as the pilgrims surrounded the pair of you, his grip tightening around your shoulders as they attempted to prise you both apart. You'd fought and resisted, always a fighting spirit, but the descending forces were too strong- even for him to combat.
He didnt even know if you could be cured, despite his insistance on eternally promising to try. Just the thought of that caused his Gallifreyan blood to boil.
The Master soon found his way to each door, silently peeking inside every residence to inspect the residents under each dome. Each door returned nothing but measly, random humans, the Masters patience running thinner by the second. Of course he'd keep searching for you, refusing to relent in any regard, but his decorum for the orchestrator of this scheme and his willingness to hunt silently were both plummeting to nothing. He had to find you. Fast.
He continued to hunt, each door still exposing the frozen faces of strangers. He resented the way his heart's would jolt at every curtain covered door, the anticipation crippling him as he scowered the street for your presence. You had to be there, he refused to entertain the thought of finding you thrown into the canal like the other common humans entangled in this mess. Not even he knew the reign of terror he'd bestow upon the universe if they'd not only murdered you for vanity, but desecrated your body in your death.
"C'mon love... Let me find you." He whispered to himself, before crossing the street to the next house along.
He pushed the red and white curtain aside, twisting the knob of the pristine white door with tense urgency. He forced himself into the front room, tracking fresh dirt from the trampled flowerbeds onto the cream carpetting. He let his gaze find the dome and instantly froze in his tracks, brown eyes widening and jaw falling slack in horror, brows knitting together in a hybrid of fury and fear.
It wasnt a stranger sat under the dome, not this time. This one was far more precious to him than any other silly little trapped human. This one was the one he'd been hunting for.
This one was you.
"Y/N!" The Master rushed towards the glass, palms frantically pressing against the barrier between you. They'd posed you on a chair, poised and propper, a man at your side with a hand on your shoulder. Your face had been pushed into a gentle smile, but your eyes were glazed and lifeless. You looked like a perfect doll under there, and the Master was determined to get you out.
He assessed the situation- there was airflow into the dome, the process putting your body in a stasis, albeit in a petrified, frozen form. But it still required a level of oxygen, meaning the living component required propper lung function and supported circulation. You were most definitely alive in there , which pleased him despite the circumstance.
His fists pounded hard against the glass, teeth gritting together in rage, a snarl ripping from his lips. The glass was thick and reinforced, most likely to contain the concentraited air, so he needed something to function as a battering ram. Nothing too big that could cause you harm, but something strong enough to shatter the glass. He furiously scratched his beard in thought, tugging a hand through his hair before spotting his perfect weapon- an innocently placed chair.
The Master swiftly grabbed hold of the chair, raising it above his head with a yell. The object came crashing down upon the glass, sending the dome shattering into a cascade of falling shards. The chair was quickly thrown and discarded, the Master having far more important things to worry about.
"Y/N... my sweet, beautiful Y/N, what did they do to you?"
The Master crouched to your level, palm reaching for your cheek as the other took hold of your frozen hands. His thumb caressed over your cheekbone, the skin hard and hollow as he gently drumed his fingers on the bone. You were ice cold but still moveable, the Master's fear of shattering you like the dome disappating out of his mind.
"They made a big mistake, a big, big mistake taking you like this." He whispered, raising your hands to his lips and gently pecking the back of them. He moved your hand to hold his own cheek, the familiar warmth of your touch gone from your skin. You had no pulse either, a notion which made the timelords stomach drop.
His eyes suddenly fell on the hand atop your shoulder, glare narrowing as he followed the body to reach the face of the man they'd posed alongside you. He sneered at the figure, brandishing his TCE and aiming it at your partner. The man instantly shrunk with a digital 'zip', falling into one of the many piles of glass that littered the floor. The Master smirked smugly, cocking an eyebrow in victory.
"Sorry Adam, shes taken." He jibed, before turning his attention back to you.
A hand carefully brushed away the shards of glass that had fallen on you during impact, the Master's touch gentle against your unmoving form. He had to get you out of there before the pilgrims came to check on the commotion he'd obviously caused. There was no way nobody heard the sound of the dome smashing, but he didn't wish to wait and find out.
"C'mon love, lets get you out of here."
Carefully, he stole a blanket from the green armchair sat in the corner, draping the material around your shoulders before gathering you in his arms. He refused to let you freeze while he carried you towards the factory, who knew what your new condition would leave you susceptible to. Your head fell to his chest as he held you like his bride, the Master wincing at your eerie, permanent smile.
"Hold on doll, i'll have you back in no time."
He placed a delicate kiss to your temple, a silent promise that everything would be alright. A sigh escaped his lips before he clutched you tight towards his chest, carrying you out through the front door and towards the looming factory above.
"Just hold on for me Y/N, I promise."
There was a back road connecting Sweetville to the factory- he couldnt risk any of the pilgrims catching sight of you both as he made his way through, so the front gate was a no go. He frowned as he slipped through off the beaten track, your body still clutched tight against his chest as he made his way through the midnight streets.
Bypassing them was easy. They patrolled in routines, groups of three's working their way through the factory floor, a small gap between them, perfect for the Master to slip through. He traversed through corridor after corridor, sticking to the dark corners of the warehouse as he found his way back to the chambers- all the while keeping tight purchase on your form.
Soon making his way towards the chamber corridor, the Master pulled the TCE from his pocket. He'd come too far now to succumb to an ambush. He swiftly made his way towards the revivication chamber, unlocking the door with the device in his hand and yanking open the heavy shell. Carefully, the Master stood you inside the human shaped box, pulling the blanket from your shoulders and placing a small kiss atop your forehead.
"Good luck" he whispered, before sealing the door to the chamber and activating the device, blanket disreguarded and pooling on the floor.
The machine gave out a low groan, the mechanical ticking of the interior rotar echoing quietly through the hall. He could just about see the top of your head through the grated window, smoke eminating from the inside and drifting into the atmosphere. The timelord stood guard, a silent prayer on his lips, palm pressed flat against the exterior metal.
The chamber was warm, heat radiating off the body of the machinery, a hellish red glow emerging from inside. It was no doubt doing the same thing it did to him, reintroducing heat to the body and restarting all regular interior function. The preservation process had gone wrong for him, no doubt due to his irregular (and in his opinion superior) timelord biology. The Masters condition been easy to fix- a partial motory shutdown acompanied by a telltale vivid red complexion, a sign the preserving process had failed. But you were a full blown case of successful preservation. Would you even be able to recover?
The chamber continued to tick on, working away at the effects of the venom. The Master continued to peek inside, watching the process intently. The timelord was transfixed, all attention focused on his human. He didn't even notice the oncoming footsteps of the pilgrims approaching the corridor, until one of them dared to step forwards and adress him.
"You will come with us immediately."
The Master turned towards the man with a furious glare, a smirk playing on his lips and an eyebrow raised in question. There was around 7 of them, all men poised with wooden bats and menacing expressions- but none of them were a match for the Masters. He'd had thousands of years to perfect his spinechilling glare, after all.
"If you're thinking about stopping me, i suggest you rethink your next actions very, very carefully."
The pilgrims watched the Master intently. They'd recognised him from the day you and he had arrived at Sweetville. The Master leered at the closest pilgrim with a twisted smile, hand still pressed against the ticking metal.
"Sure, you pulled your little preserving stunt on me, and credit where it's due- its a cute plan, it really is."
The Master mockingly laughed gently, a confused expression creeping across the face of the pilgrim leader. The timelord toyed with the TCE in his hands, tone laced with an absolute dark malice.
"But you made a one crucial mistake, one very, very crucial mistake. You were so close, so very close to getting it all right. Who wants to guess?"
The pilgrims stood in comanding silence, the Master's judgemental gaze panning over their solemn faces.
"Nobody? Well then, guess i'll have to spell it out for you all."
The leading pilgrim sighed in frustration, the Masters stoic glower landing on his expression. He took a step forward, squaring off his shoulders like a wild animal, smile dropping from his features as his teeth clenched in a snarl.
"Your mistake, boys... was thinking you could also do it to her. You took her from me and hurt her, and god knows thats enough to doom every single one of you."
A pilgrim within the cluster rolled his eyes, raising his bat and lurching forward to swing at the Masters head. The timelord growled in annoyance, presenting the TCE with a flourish and sending the man crashing to the floor as a shrunken minifigure, instantly trodden under his foot. Another followed suit, the Master's elbow colliding with his jaw and fist landing square across his face. The pilgrim screamed in pain, soon joining his associate as a shrunken minifigure on the floor- the timelords hair flying wild as he quickly span on his heels and pinned the leader against the second revivication chamber, all in one swift swing. His hand clasped tight around the mans throat, gritted teeth practically spitting with rage as the pilgrims bat dropped to the floor from shock.
"So, two questions for you. Do you really want to attempt to take her from me again?"
The Master raised the TCE to the pilgrims face, a viscious fire lit behind his eyes, harsh voice barely over a whisper beside the pilgrims pitiful whimper.
"And are you really stupid enough to try?"
The pilgrim shook his head with a groan, hands still scrabbling against the Master's monsterously strong grip. The Master nodded in agreement, relenquishing his grip on the pilgrims throat and gesturing with his head for him to leave with an almost innocent expression. The pilgrim gasped for air, windpipe almost crushed under the timelords inhuman strength, eyes flitting towards the exit in a sudden panic. He began to bolt for the following hall, the other pilgrims backing away in fear.
The Master calmly raised the TCE, a concentrated blast landing straight against the mans back. The pilgrim shrunk with a shrill scream, a wave of horror surging across the four remaining men. Terrified feet scrambled against the hard stone floor, leaving the Master stood alone within the empty corridor, the sound of wooden bats being dropped against the flooring ricocheting through the hallway.
The Master released an almighty huff, tension falling from his shoulders, TCE returning to his inside pocket. He suddenly turned his attention back to your chamber, and every remaining ounce of fury melted from his face.
"I'm sure you would've enjoyed that, love. You're always partial to a good fight, arent you?"
The Master smiled to himself, peeking into the glowing red of the chamber between the pannels of horizontal grating. He quickly removed the TCE and gave a quick scan of the metal machine, a satisfied expression sinking onto his features. You were just about done, and it looked like the process had worked a treat. He'd have you back in no time.
The Master heaved open the door with a low grunt, the bellowing smoke dissapating out into the atmosphere. There you stood among the internal pipes and valves, eyes fluttered shut, swaying gently from side to side. All sense of stillness had escaped from your form, your eyes twitching and nose scrunching as you carefully began to come to. The Master gently moved a stray hair from your face, fingers trailing across your now warm skin as you subconciously nestled your cheek against his palm.
You were slowly starting to wake, your fingers subtly twitching as your once still lips slowly parted. Your balance hadn't yet returned though, your limbs suddenly falling weak. You began to fall against the timelords chest, the Master instantly curling an arm around your waist to keep you upright, your hands instinctively flying to his shoulders. The other hand remained on your cheek, thumb caressing the apples of your cheek as your eyes finally fluttered open.
The world was hazy, images fuzzy and your vision lacking any sharpness. Your eyes focused on the figure before you, the soft mound of shapes in front of your eyes carefully creeping towards clarity. You groaned softly, squinting as you made out the features in your eyeline. Fluffy hair, a scruffy beard, and brown eyes that looked down upon you with such a caring, fond warmth it made your heart begin to race.
"There she is, there's my Y/N"
Your ears practically perked up at the familiar voice, your mind slowly working through the sluggish lull it was trapped in. The puzzle pieces began to ease together in your mind, the soft palm against your cheek bringing you such comfort as you processed your surroundings. There was only one person you knew who would even get chance to hold you like this, let alone desire to.
A warm smile spread across your face, recognition gleaming in your eyes as you scratched your nails against the underside of his jaw. The figure before you hummed in appreciation, your finger raising up to gently boop him on the nose.
"Master"
Your voice was amost a dreamy sigh, gaze brimming with affection as you nestled further into his arms. The timelord above you hummed out a laugh, a blush spreading rapidly across your cheeks. The arm around your waist tightened, your hold on the masters shoulders shifting from desperate grappling to tender affection. You had no clue how long it had been: days, weeks, months - but you felt like you'd missed his arms, the familar comfort an utter blessing.
"You came back for me" you murmured, placing a tender kiss against his wrist. The Master raised his eyebrows, allowing his face to be burried in your hair as he pulled you tighter to his chest. You nestled your nose against the crook of his neck, your arms winding around his torso.
"Hey, of course I came back for you, love. I'd always come back for you."
His hands gingerly rubbed up and down your spine, the familiar scent of his collar drifting up your nostrils as you gave yourself to his embrace. The hug was comforting, caring, something you'd been craving ever since you stepped foot into Sweetville. Gone was the terror of the unknown, the looming peral that stood behind the factory doors. You'd found your way back to Master's arms, and everything felt right again.
Questions wracked themselves through your brain, your mind having finally caught up with your racing heart. You pulled yourself to face him, hand making its way to hold the side of his neck.
"What happened to me? What happened to you? What's our next move? Where's Mrs gillyflower? How are we gonna stop her? What-
Why are you looking at me like that?"
Your ramblings were cut off by the masters fond expression, face shapen into a loving smile and eyes gazing down at you with an unspoken adoration. He brushed the hair from your face once more, fingers caressing down your jawline before gently landing under your chin.
"Just thinking... Did I tell you how much I missed you?" The timelord mused, stupid grin still perched atop his lips. You rolled your eyes and smirked, gripping onto his jacket collar and curling your fingers under his lapels.
"No, but you can show me." You returned, before pulling his collar towards your chest and crashing your lips against his.
The Master fell deep into the kiss, hands grasping hold of your waist as he tilted his head, nose brushing against yours as he slotted himself further against your face. You let out a gentle moan, his lips prising away your dominance as your eyes closed in bliss. His mouth was warm and inviting, lips soft against your own as they carefully guided your movements, creating a symphony of coordination between both of your mouthes.
He tasted hot and desperate, teeth almost clashing as he hungrilly delved deeper. His fingers dug into your side as you moaned once again, the air being snatched away from your lungs as you succumbed to his every movement. He could sense you were running out of momentum, his forehead pressed against your own as he carefully prised himself away, your lips shining a glossy red as you gasped out for air.
"Now that...that was a good show."
The Master looked awfully proud of himself, your eyes meeting his own, chest rising and falling in a gentle pant. He could've kept going, his respiratory bypass an absolute boon when it came to intimacy. You however, being human, needed a break now and then. Not that the Master would have you any other way.
"Right then, my dear Y/N. It seems, as the locals would say, 'there's trouble at mill'."
You couldn't hold back your laughter, the Yorkshire lilt he added to his voice simultaniously perfect and horrendous. You couldnt help but think it was a minor jab at a familiar blonde timelady, but her and her vocal habits were the last things you were concerned about right now.
"And, now that you're finally back in one very beautiful piece, we need to solve this little mystery of ours."
You giggled lightly, a confident smile encasing your reddened lips, a proud blush spreading across your cheeks. The Masters eyes were alit with something fabulously excitable, lips curled into an eager grin. He was absolutely raring to go, shoulders straightening proudly.
"Whats your plan, Master?" You asked, curiosity coursing through your veins. The Master flashed a dazzling grin, obviously happy you'd asked.
"I think, love, its about time we finally had a talk with our dear old friend Mr Sweet."
The Master extended his hand towards you, your own hand slipping in perfectly against his palm. He squeezed your hand gently, sending you a wink that almost made your knees buckle. The effect he had on you would never stop being practically magical.
You squoze back, beaming up at the renegade timelord with determination before the pair of you ran towards the large crimson door of the factory, ready to face whatever horror's lay in store- together.

Double standards where Lena is concerned. She can't win.
I find a lot of opinions about Lena to be so hypocritical, honestly it's like 'pick a lane!'
1. People say that Lena is selfish because she and Kara only ever talk about her issues. But then when Kara does have issues and Lena tries to talk to her about them Kara rejects her. (Ie after Mon El left)
These same people say that Lena is selfish for NOT telling Kara every time she decides to work on something.
So which is it? Because you can't have it both ways. Lena can't be selfish for talking to Kara about what's she's doing but also be selfish for not telling her what she's doing.
2. People say that Lena is Xenophobic because she made an alien detection device in ONE episode which we only ever saw again when she used it on Rhea. Oh and because she thinks humans should be able to fight bad aliens that ALWAYS show up, and people like the COL and shouldn't have to rely only on the good graces of Supergirl and her few friends. She also had Kryptonite to PROTECT the world from Reign and to protect Sam from herself.
But then Lena saves all the aliens of National City, Supergirl, Sam, builds a statue of Supergirl, works with Supergirl, makes image inducors tech to protect aliens, protects Supergirl, condemns her mothers and brothers actions, makes Harun El to keep Argo City alive, saves Argo City from Lex and then shoots her own brother to keep him from murdering and terrorizing aliens and humans alike.
So which is it? Because you can't have to both ways.
3. People say that Lena is a cold blooded murderer that kills kids. Because she shot Corbin, Lex , accidentally killed Adam and was going to shoot Edge.
But Corbin was going to kill Alex and was trying to kill Lena. She shot Corbin when he had a gun to Alex's head, even Kara isn't faster than a gun touching Alex's head. So you would prefer her to have just let the guy kill Alex? To ignore the guy trying to kill her? She shot an unarmed Lex because he was an insane, murdering, evil man who wanted to commit genocide and would never stop and was essentially Hitler 2.0. But you would have preferred she turn him in only to have him escape again and try to kill her and everyone else again? For the record, Adam was not an unaware kid. He was well aware of what was happening, he was NOT a kid and he convinced Lena to go ahead. Lena shouldn't have gone ahead, but that's not cold blooded murder. She also went to kill Edge, a man who was ACTUALLY trying to kill children.
So which is it? Lena uses a gun to save lives and she's a murderer, she uses a gun to kill those that are about to kill others and she's a murderer, someone accidentally dies from her experiments and she's a murderer, oh and she prevents genocide more than once and she's a murderer?? It can't be both (or all).
4. It's also completely glossed over that Kara, Jonn and Alex have all killed people for whatever reason, some unnecessarily. But they get off Scott free whereas Lena is a murderer.
You can't have it both ways, the Superfriends can't be allowed to kill but Lena isn't.
5. Lena is condemned for being pro gun, not just by haters but by characters such as James.
But Alex essentially has a love affair with her gun and it's seen as awesome and bad ass not just by the audience but people like James.
So which is it? Guns are good or bad? Because it can't be both based on preference of character.
6. People condem Lena for talking about her Luthor origins.
But Mon El was allowed to talk about how crap his family were, Kara is allowed to talk about how crap her family was, Winn is allowed to talk about his crap family, Brainy is allowed to talk about his crap family, even Alex is allowed to talk about how crap her dad is. I bet Jonn is going to be allowed to talk about how crap his bother is going to be.
So which is it? You're either allowed to talk about a crap family or you're not. It can't be one rule for Lena and another for others.
6. Lena is condemned for not telling Kara all her secrets.
But apparently Kara is entitled to keep all of hers?
Well which is it? It can't be one rule for Lena and another for Kara.
7. Lena is condemned still for helping Rhea. She's blamed for the Daxamite invasion and Mon El having to leave.
But let's take a look back, Lena may have been tricked into opening a gate, but she ISN'T the reason Rhea chose to invade. That was all Mon El and Kara. Remember Rhea only wanted to take Mon El back to Daxam and rebuild. She had no interest in Earth at all. Mon El made a half assed protest against slavery and as soon as he was rebuked and told he would spend a few years in a cell he immediately gave up his protest and decided being with Kara and enjoying life on Earth was way more appealing. Even Kara who was supposedly against Slavery and even had a go at Rhea about it during dinner didn't even try to convince Mon El to go and help his people. She immediately wanted him to stay with her, regardless of the difference he could have made. It was Mon Els rejection and the fact that Kara was Kryptonian that drove Rhea to want to invade Earth. Lena had bugger all to do with that. If Kara had been honest with Lena she would have known that Rhea was Mon Els mother and not to trust her.
So which is it? Is she the whole reason the Daxamites invaded? Or are you going to acknowledge Kara and Mon Els part in it?
8. Lena is condemned for making Kryptonite to protect Sam, keep her contained so Reign didnt kill anyone else. No intention of it being anywhere near supergirl at any time.
But Alex shoots Kara out of the sky with Kryptonite bullets in the first episode but that's OK? Jonn owns a Kryptonite knife he really liked and that's OK? Jonn carried Kryptonite cuffs so he can use them on Kara but that's OK? The DEO stock piles Kryptonite Kara is well aware of and that's OK? There's a Kryptonite room in the DEO and that's OK? Alex kills Astra with a Kryptonite sword but that's OK?
So which is it? All those Kryptonite issues were meant to be in contact or hurt Kara in some way. Lena is actually the only one to be in possession of it without any intention of it hurting or coming into contact with Supergirl in any way.
9. Lena is accused of talking advantage of Kara.
But it's actually Kara that takes advantage of Lena since they first met. It's Kara who went asking about Roulette, it's Kara who used her all access privilege to try to trick Lena into giving up info about her mother. It's Kara who ignored Lena and then Immediately went to her to save Cat Co, then when Lena has spent millions on it rejected her again. It was Kara who thought she could take advantage of Lena as her boss and didn't think she had to follow the rules. It was Kara and Alura that used Lena to make Harun El for Argo City. It was also Kara who used Lena's personal relationships to betray her trust.
So yeah, Lena doesn't take advantage of Kara, she wants to be around Kara, gives Kara pretty much anything she wants and instantly let's things go. (unfortunately I think that part has ended).
10. Lena is hated because she told Kara off at work and set up meetings without James.
Well Kara thought she could do whatever she wanted, repeatedly ignored requests from her new boss, let her personal life interfere with her job, had a go at her boss who was patient and even offered understanding and more time off. You can only disrespect your boss so much before they have to pull rank on you, friend or family. Lena also instantly forgave Kara and offered up more understanding. As for James, he was shocked Lena even showed up, no she doesn't have to tell him. This was her new company, best to turn up and see what's its really like, than phone ahead and see what people want you to see. She was probably also aware Olsen didn't like her. She was well within her rights to set up a meeting to get to know her staff without them being briefed by James, a guy who didn't like her. James was also beyond disrespectful and acted like her opinion didn't matter at work while they were dating to the point she stopped coming to Cat Co.
So which is it? Is she selfish and taking advantage of Kara and James when they are disrespectful to her at work ? Or is she allowed to put them in their place since she is their boss. Bare in mind, Lena only pulls rank when she is pushed to the absolute limit. It's also totally fine when Cat treats everyone especially Kara like garbage, but Lena the understanding best friend is bad??
11. Lena is condemned for working with the government/DEO on her super serum.
But when Jonn, Alex, Kara, Brainy, Winn, etc all worked for the DEO that was absolutely fine. Even James stuck his nose in consistently at the DEO but then when Lena was actually wanted there he basically threatened to break up with her. Remember the DEO pre- Col Haley, still wasnt the best place . Since season one it locked up aliens without trial. Pre that Alex was against all aliens save for Kara. But when Lena is asked to come and help, and works ALONGSIDE both Brainy and Alex, she is still the ONLY one to be condemned.
So which is it? Lena can't be the only bad one for working with the DEO when she was working alongside Alex and Brainy and EVERYONE at some point has worked with the DEO.
12. Lena is always condemned for making Harun El and accused of stealing it.
Lena didn't steal Harun El, she made it. Haters never acknowledge the fact that Lena made more to help with Sam or even the huge deal that was her saving Argo City from extinction or even that she managed to do something in a week an advanced society of alien scientists couldn't figure out. But when she realises that Harun El that she has manufactured could benefit the human race and probably cure Cancer she's told she can't have it because Alura and Kara say so?? If Kara and Alura had got off their high Kryptontian horses Lena wouldn't have had to lie or rather not inform them that she intended to use Harun El. They didn't want it used because THEY didn't understand the full uses of it, something Lena got closer than Argo did at figuring out. You dont stop studying something because you don't know it's potential. That's the whole point of science.
So which it? Is Lena bad for making Harun El and saving Argo , basically curing cancer etc? Is she bad for thinking humans deserve the same chances that Argo has? Is she bad for using a substance she figured out how to make? Is she bad for thinking humans could have super powers? Something that wasn't even her original intent. Is she bad that she DID tell her ideas to the Superfriends and they rejected it so she didn't bother mentioning it again until she nearly had it sorted. Do you know who else worked on the Harun El? Alex and Brainy did.
13. Lena was an evil murderer for shooting an unarmed Lex.
But apparently she's also evil and stupid for saving Lex when he had Cancer.
So which is it? She's can't be bad for both those things.
I could write more but that's enough. Can anyone think of anymore??

This fan base never ceases to amaze me. Apparently, no one moved pass their SuperWhoLock mentality.
I loved the film, but I’m still adjusting, that is all I will say about the Last Jedi.
Having a good or bad reaction to the content does not bar me from critiquing any production experience of a major film franchise. I can admire a film franchise I dont like for its creativity and cast and crew, and I can critique one I do like for where it goes wrong.
But I have written this as a reaction the internet’s hatred toward’s Rian Johnson, not the film, not his choices, not Lucasfilm’s or Disney’s choices. That is an entirely different subject. This is about the hatred that sprung from the ground like oil out of nowhere. This dirty oil did not exists before December 15th.
Where to start?
People are pulling up out of context interviews and tweets to make it seem that Rian Johnson was hated by the cast and no one wanted to work with him. I’ve seen every accusation under the sun. If you ask Tumblr, Reddit, IGN, etc, he’s everything from racist to Cthulhu.
This type of reaction from the internet is predictive and cyclical.
There was, and still is, a camp of disatisfied star wars fans born in 2015 dedicated to defaming J.J Abrams and The Force Awakens. This was in the wake of the criticism that The Force Awakens was too similar to A New Hope. Coincidence? If you said no, you’re right.
But back to Rian.
I want to state here and now that I don’t have a rosy tinted view of the production, I’m not saying everyone warmed quickly to the plot points of The Last Jedi. I want to state that no one, strangely, had a problem with the director. That’s it.
I hope that I can bring up some points that are on record to remind people, that maybe, if not surely, that this criticism is transparent and stupid.
There was a slow evolution for the actors, like many of the avid star wars fan, to adjust to the change in gear for the franchise. I find it especially amazing that Mark Hamill went out of his way to publicly state his wariness and the disagreements on the script which the late Carrie Fisher collaborated on with Rian Johnson. Hamill came back and said he was wrong and now he is utterly in tune with Rian’s vision. If there were any hard feelings left they wouldn’t have mentioned it on the press tour. This isn’t remotely reminiscent of Chris Hemsworth staring into camera during the 2015 Ultron Press Tour and saying: I had no clue what was going on.
If Hamill and Johnson hadn’t reconciled you can bet that their original disagreement wouldn’t have made itself known on the Star Wars 40th Anniversary Celebration Stage. If audiences want to counter and say that it was Disney’s plan all along to bolster the image of the Last Jedi, go ahead, it’s a damn good strategy. People disagree in creative circles, and to have one publicly state their agreement is a good thing.
Carrie Fisher didn’t seem to be the only collaborator. Rian Johnson and John Boyega inform interviewers on separate occasions about how happy they were to work on progressing Finn’s character together. John Boyega took a huge lead in strengthening the character and making him stronger, he even cites rian’s auteurship as the reason for the maneuver room in the franchise.
Gwendoline Christie also cites Rian’s collaboratory attitude when forging ahead with Phasma’s story. Oddly enough so does Oscar Isaac.
Daisy Ridley speaks about her wariness for the direction of the franchise as well. But she also speaks on how open the director was to input and how much he tried to make everyone feel comfortable. I say this because I saw someone pull up a tweet of Daisy’s reaction to J.J coming back to work on IX. The article states she apparently was delighted and cried with joy at the TFA director’s return. The blog post framed it as a relief and reprieve from Rian’s supposed reign of terror. This sounds very silly because J.J Abrams wasn’t AWOL during pre-production, production and post: He’s the producer. Not even executive producer. Producer. He is also present for writing/directing the third installment in the trilogy. The most important detail left out was that this was a reaction to Colin Trevormorrow who was slated to direct the third installment. I believe he left on creative differences with the Walt Disney corporation and lucasfilm. His vision for the film was not in tune with the direction of the movie. This was also a secondary source article, there was a clear bias in the words spoken by the article.
Speaking of bias, the internet loves screenshots, so much so that they become subsitutes to whole videos and dialogues. An out of context picture is misleading, for better of worse.
The cast joke about the poker faces during interviews because their NDA comes with a side order of Mickey Mouse Snipers. But yet, bloggers on the internet take screencaps of the interviews mid questions and post them with captions like: They’re hiding their hatred for the director and/or the movie. In reality, they’re in the middle of listening to a question or trying to not react to a spoiler. If any of you have seen anything of the press tour, most of it is the cast trying to keep a straight face and avoid spoilers. And trust me, I watched the entirety of the press tour, I know which moments were screenshotted.
If this sounds familiar it’s because the internet is predictable. This is beginning to sound a lot like how people tried to frame Adam Driver like some sort of 9/11 bigoted ex-soldier with no respect for his cast mates after TFA. There was divisive crowd who initiated a backlash against him simply because they didnt like the character. Remember half the reason he isn’t in most of the press junkets and press conferences? Half of it is his self proclaimed discomfort at the whole idea of the spotlight. But it isn’t absurd to think the other half is unfounded backlash he receives for his character.
I saw people also quoted one of Adam’s interviews and his feeling on 9/11 and left it at that. The blogger made it seem like he was what all liberals fear. They forgot to mention his exit from the Marines, the creation of his foundation for returning War Vets and reintegration and encouragement through the arts as a way to explore trauma. When I did my gendered violence class we found a Ted Talk with him talking about the toxic masculinity of the US military complex. It’s a great speech and its deeply profound. If you really care about feminist issues and the nature of the military backbone in the United States there is some great reading I can recommend but this is a good start.
I don’t want anyone to mistake my fondness for any of the characters for any biased defense. They are people too, they aren’t perfect, but they aren’t evil incarnate. I’m not opposed to dumping a content creator like a hot potato for violation of ethical rights and questionable conflicts in production.
This is all to say that Tumblr finds ways to do what all bad journalists do: commence head hunts through clipped interviews, out of context quotes, images, and pseudo liberal pitchfork waving.
I’m half expecting half the disgruntled fans to be Alicia Silverstone in the Scooby Doo movies. So much of the hatred on the internet feels like Freddie’s dialgue cut together to say: I THINK COOLSVILLE SUCKS.
All for what? For the same reason they don’t like the new movie. They’ll skim the surface for buzz words, absorb misunderstood information, and ignore internal meaning, and cast aside the answers to their questions which are explicitly stated.
Until I see any facts that actually exist outside the draconian and dogmatic bubble of Tumblr’s bowels I think its safe to say that Rian and the cast are A-Okay with one another. I’m not avoiding being convinced, I just hope people can see HOW SILLY IT ALL SOUNDS.
It seems like we haven’t really progressed from the SuperWhoLock Days? Huh, Tumblr? It just seems to hide behind seemingly more lofty righteous reasons.
