I wonder if my academic team coach would consider learning about elvish marriage customs as “learning something new over the summer”. He’s read the Silmarillion so maybe he does.

#i was walking out of a meet with the team in 2020 or late 2019 i don't remember and was talking about how i was reading fellowship and that #it was incredibly boring and i didn't care about it #i wasn't planning on ever finishing it or reading any of the other books #another guy who loves reading and whose favorite book is clockwork orange agreed with me #and then our coach told us that he read the silmarillion and that it was hard #i didn't even know what it was then #and now here i am obsessed with Tolkien's legendarium
