kinktober masterlist 🖤 general masterlist 🖤
Tumblr media
You have grown pretty close with your roommate Sunwoo over the college years you shared. You were two busy students, he was a biology major, and you were in law, both working your asses off in different fields to get on top of all your classes.
So, even if you lived in the same apartment, you barely saw each other, cramming as much content as possible till dawn. It was getting super tiring for both of you, and you spent your rare free time watching a movie to relax from the daily pressure. You were also there to comfort each other when you felt like giving up, but it stopped there.
Sunwoo was in a relationship with a girl when you first moved in together, and as the wonderful roommate you were, you willingly left the apartment to give them some privacy a few times per week, when she came over. But at some point during the year, you no longer saw this girl coming around your place.
Sunwoo informed you one day that they had broken up over a shitty reason that he remained pretty vague about, and you didn’t dig further, much to his delight. That’s all you needed to know, even if it was a blatant lie. He would never admit to anyone that your name accidentally slipped off his lips as he reached his high, his girlfriend outraged by the incident.
She had immediately put a stop to this relationship, storming out of the apartment while yelling insults and a loud “WE’RE DONE!” at him as she slammed the door, a vase wobbling on the chest of drawers, falling to the ground the next second.
When you came back to the apartment as you had spent the evening with Jacob and Kevin, you thought it was best not to mention the broken glass on the floor and the stillness of the apartment, which was quite unusual.
The first few times, you could always hear either her cranky laugh or borderline pornographic moans coming out of her mouth as you walked through the door, making you cringe as sometimes even gag. It was as if she wanted to prove that she was the one fucking Sunwoo and not you, but you just shrugged it off, finding her pathetic and utterly out of her mind.
You felt your heart skip a beat in happiness when he admitted that they were no longer together, and he seemed relieved as well that she finally wasn’t always watching what he was doing.
Since then, Sunwoo started walking more freely around the apartment, always one part of his body barely covered; he was either shirt- or pantless, the latter happening more rarely than the former, but you witnessed him once walking around only in his boxers.
To say the least, this man was packed. Thighs, ass, chest, arms, crotch. Whatever you name, it had girth.
As much as you hated yourself for doing so, you started developing a crush on him. The first symptom was when you couldn’t help but stare at his back profile each time he walked past you hardly dressed. It was a rule that you had established to protect yourself from getting hurt, but even your inner, future lawyer was telling you to break it. Just once.
And as predicted, it ruined your life.
One night, which was tonight, you could not take it anymore. You were exhausted, your hormones were acting up and the only thing that you had in mind was sex and, of course, your roommate.
You rolled your chair away from your desk and jumped on your bed after making sure that you pushed the door fully to the frame, deciding not to lock it as you still had a few hours left alone. Sunwoo was out for the evening, and he shouldn’t be back before dawn, like each time he went out for drinks with his friends.
You made sure to turn your notifications and Bluetooth off – an accident can happen so fast with technology – before plugging in your headphones to your iPad, opening an adult website. You cringed at what you furiously typed in the search bar, biting on your thumb as you scrolled through the different explicit thumbnails.
You found a video of a couple fucking, and when you clicked on it, your heart skipped a beat as the male surprisingly had a similar voice to your roommate. However, much to your disappointment, it wasn’t Sunwoo in the video.
Your pussy throbbed at the idea of him fucking you with a camera somewhere in the bedroom, and you didn’t waste a single second to remove your sweatpants and undergarments to start touching yourself, fingers rubbing deliciously between your folds.
You whined as you were already super wet, a clear image of Sunwoo coming into your mind when you closed your eyes and forced your head back into the pillows.
The sounds in your ears were extremely erotic, the video and quality were good. You couldn’t help but get lost in the pleasure as it sounded as real as it looked. No artificial scenarios, no fake moans, just pure love and desire that a partner has for their significant other. It was like they were made for each other.
You unconsciously let out a whisper of Sunwoo’s name, your free hand instantly slapping against your mouth in embarrassment as you went faster, now entering yourself with your ring and middle finger. It felt good, but deep down, oh so deep down, you wished that they were his fingers touching you like that.
Screen resting against the mattress, you only focused on the sounds as they turned you on more than the images. The pads of your fingers toyed and teased your clit, causing you to mewl out your roommate’s name another time.
His handsome face appeared in your mind, and your heart hammered faster, the man’s grunts making your imagination run wild. You clenched around your fingers when he whispered dirty things in his lover’s ear, making it sound like he was doing it to you. What a good idea he had to hide a mic behind his partner, it made it sound even more real.
Too real, almost. You were covered in a thin layer of sweat as you were about to cum, the couple not far from their high either.
You mimicked the breathy whispers of the woman, the “baby I’m gonna cum,” replacing the nickname with your roommate’s name, your orgasm getting closer as you fastened the pace your fingers entered you, curling them right to tease your g-spot. They weren’t long enough to reach it as you pleased - you were sure his were slim enough to trigger it – and that simple thought pushed you over the edge in a loud scream, followed by whines and profanities mixed with a trail of Sunwoo’s name hastily whispered as you were riding your high, droplets of your juices rolling down your digits.
It was hard for you to catch your breath again as it was one of the most intense orgasms you had ever given yourself, and it’s with amazement you realised that you had come more than usual, your shrouds dripping off your core.
“Oh my god,” you breathily whispered as you paused the video, body heating up in embarrassment at the mess you’ve just created on your bed. It was almost midnight, how you could explain to your friend why you made the washing machine work this late in the evening when you had the entire day to do your laundry?
This thought had just appeared in your brain, but it quickly got vanished by two confident knocks on your door frame, your head snapping up instantly as your heart jumped in your throat. Panting, you hastily covered yourself and removed your headphones, the door sliding wide open on a grinning Sunwoo.
His muscular arms from his endless workouts were crossed on his chest, a smirk decorating his mouth as cockiness was painted all over his face. You thickly swallowed, cursing him for coming home this early. He looked so sexy, and you sighed, wishing that he didn’t look this sober and sexy with a boner constricted in his jeans.
“Sunwoo! What are you doing here?” you aggressively asked, snapping back to your senses. He chuckled, taking a slow yet confident step inside your dimmed bedroom. Your LED lights had turned purple while you were deep in your business, and the light made Sunwoo entirely clothed in black look even sexier.
“Looks like someone’s enjoying themselves over there. Thinking of me, I heard?” He ignored your question while taking another step, your body instantly withdrawing towards the bed frame to establish some distance.
“Shut up,” you frowned as you clutched the covers around your body, watching your roommate taking a seat next to you. His eyes fell on your bare collarbones, and he licked his lips before looking back at you, a wider smirk tugging on his mouth.
“Do you want me to, dear? Don’t you want to hear how much you turn me on and how sexy you looked when you made yourself cum while thinking of me?” he asked as his large hand landed on your covered thigh, caressing it up and down. Your body instantly reacted to his touch, sending a rush of warmth in your veins. He felt electric, and it wouldn’t take him too much time to make your brain short-circuit.
“You’ve seen everything?” Heat was now all over your face, spread to your ears down your neck, feeling like you could cook an egg on your cheeks at how embarrassed you were. Sunwoo smirked as his hand trailed higher, now caressing your stomach, forefinger climbing the valley of your breasts to catch and grab your chin. Your heart hammered in your chest, and Sunwoo could see the vein on your neck pump fast, his ego swelling at the effect he had on you.
“A good part of it, yeah. You looked so needy and sexy while chasing your high that I couldn’t interrupt you.” “So you just enjoyed the show of your roommate masturbating? Like a huge perv?” you asked, and he chuckled again, climbing on your bed, his body straddling yours. “If you wanted some privacy, you should’ve locked the door, not just pushed it,” he bent down to whisper those words against your lips, feeling his warm breath hitting them, making you shiver.
“You fucking asshole,” you weakly smirked, your hand flying to the back of his head to press his lips against yours, moving them at a harsh, needy pace that Sunwoo didn’t struggle to follow. You did when he took the upper hand and went at his pace, switching positions, making you land on top of his hard abs.
He moaned against your mouth when he felt how wet you still were from your previous orgasm and his current teasing, your juices dampening his t-shirt, making his skin shiver in pleasure. When he pulled away, you were both panting, and he was quick to push you backwards, head landing at the far end of the bed.
To Sunwoo, you looked so sexy with your hair sprawled on the plush fabric of the comforter, your naked body laying under him. You didn’t feel shy as he eyed you up and down, his mouth water and cock throbbing in his pants at the sight of your bare cunt.
“So pretty, I wanna fucking ruin you,” he whispered as his hands rested on each side of your head, mouth sinking back on yours, as if to silence his own dirtiest fantasies.
You wriggled as the pad of his fingers ghosted on your skin, goosebumps awakening immediately. Your back slightly arched off the bed, and you moaned against his mouth as his fingers played and twisted your nipple before cupping your breast.
“So good,” he whispered and grunted when you directed your hand to his crotch, rubbing him up and down. You felt it twitch against your palm, and you smirked, whining as he kept teasing your breasts.
His fingers started dancing lower, down your breasts to your stomach, soon hovering above where you needed him the most. His large palm cupped your cunt, his ring finger easily slipping between your folds, thanks to how aroused you were for him.
“Seems like your idea of me making you cum wasn’t enough. Look how much you’re dripping, you needy slut,” he whispered, retracting his hand and spreading his fingers apart for you to see your arousal forming strings between them.
“Sunwoo please, do something,” you begged, and his smirk widened, loving how you sounded when you were submissively begging for his touch. “Since you asked so nicely, I can’t refuse you anything, beauty,” he whispered as his hand squeezed your shoulder, the other rubbing in between your folds.
You whined his name at the sensation, mouth falling agape before breaking in a loud moan as he inserted two fingers at once. It felt amazing. Your arousal returned twice as strong as you were maintaining eye contact with your roommate, trying not to roll your eyes at the back of your head. He was kneeling next to your upper chest, his crotch almost in your face, mouth watering as you thought about sucking him off. You could smell his laundry and the masculine cologne he was always wearing, core clenching around his fingers as you smelt a good whiff of it.
Your hand wrapped around his tensed forearm, feeling his veins under your skin as he kept pumping his fingers inside of you at a rapid pace, the squelching sounds turning you on even more. The only thing you could do was mewl, and Sunwoo loved to see you react that way. He smirked and kissed your lips before trailing his mouth down to your neck, his fingers curling even further inside you.
“A-Ah! God fuck yeah, keep going Woo, please,” you panted, the pace he set never faltering, his thumb rising in the air to come and tease your clit.
It pressed harder on your sensitive point at each thrust, making you see stars as his fingers were devilishly wrecking you apart. You were already a mess around them, Sunwoo couldn’t help but wonder how sexy and submissive you would look falling apart around his cock.
Your moans were getting higher and louder, Sunwoo pumping his fingers even faster. They reached much deeper than yours as they were slender, making you feel like Heaven was within reach, you just needed something more.
And, as if Sunwoo had scanned your brain to understand what would send you over the edge, he wrapped his free hand around your throat and lifted you from the bed to press your lips together, the tightness of his hold was just the right thing to make you see stars and eventually orgasm.
“Good girl, that’s it, baby, that’s it. Come around my fingers, yeah, that’s it,” you fell apart around Sunwoo’s fingers, hands clutching onto the bed sheets as your whole body shook, eyes rolling at the back of your head as he whispered his dirty words on your mouth.
His eyes lingered on your face, admiring your fucked out state before wetting his lips and pressing them on yours in a languish kiss. He helped you ride your orgasm by keeping on pumping his fingers inside you, your thighs quivering as you threw your head back in the comforter, your juices rolling down Sunwoo’s fingers and your inner thighs.
A few moans slipped out of his mouth as well as you kept clenching hard around his fingers, his cock feeling painful in the confines of his boxers. He eventually let go of your throat, your blurry vision slowly coming back to normal as you were coming down for your high, chest heaving up and down heavily.
Sunwoo smirked and tapped your cheek to make you open your mouth, your tongue wrapping around his fingers as you tasted yourself on them. Once you had licked them clean, he wiped the corners of your mouth with his thumb as a mix of drool and your cum had gathered there, smearing it in his palm. He then unbuttoned his pants, touching himself with your spit after falling on his back next to you.
He was super sensitive due to all the dirty talk and your fucked out, submissive state, and he only needed a few harsh strokes for his seeds to spurt out of his tip, coating his hand and staining his black t-shirt and underwear. Just like he did for you, you helped him ride his high by wrapping your hand around his, applying pressure and speed. A surprised yet pleased moan erupted from the back of Sunwoo’s voice, making you clench around nothing at how sexy he looked.
He glanced at you with hooded eyes and a drowsy smile, finding you the hottest in this blissful state. You gathered strength and lifted your arm, hand coming to his face to caress his warm cheek, earning a smile from him.
“That was amazing,” he whispered, and you nodded, fingers grazing against the skin of his neck. “It was, but we made a mess,” you whined as the sheets were covered in sweat and messily wrinkled with your movements and releases, Sunwoo giggling at your state of distress.
“Come sleep with me, I washed my bedding yesterday,” he mumbled as he pushed himself closer to you, his face nuzzled in your neck as he pressed his hot lips on your sensitive skin. “So we can mess your sheets too?” you teased, and he chuckled, sucking harshly on the spot right below your earlobe, slightly decentred to the left. “Not now, darling, but I can’t promise you in the morning.” He smirked, and you scoffed, jokingly slapping his chest before he sat up, throwing you on his shoulder to take you to his bedroom.

As easy as it was to say compared to real life, Choi Yeonjun was a wreck. A horrible, horrible and you must’ve forget to say- horrible wreck! That is including the duration of time before and after the second time you left.
How he roused one morning to you no where in sight after a vicious night of going out was something he deeply regretted. He would do anything to go back to that day, of course. He wasn’t sure about how you were doing, but jeez did he want to see those bright glints in your eyes whenever you saw him again. To see you smiling like nothing was wrong or giggling when he finally made ticklish contact on those sensitive places or even how you’d frown before him due to his carelessness. His mind drew him back to the ungodly hour of 4am when you scolded him for the scar on his arm he didn’t seem to realize until later and the way you made sure nothing else on his body was hurt. Yeah anyone could tell that didn’t go very well considering he was a boy and you were a girl, but that wasn’t the point!
In simple terms, he missed you more than anyone he’s ever laid eyes upon and the plain truth was that. You weren’t easy to be shaken off his mind after that ordeal of getting you to himself for one, final night. It hurt him most to see the disgusted expression on your face as if you were staring straight at a pile of elephant poop on the ground, not wanting to do anything with it because it was useless and foul. He couldn’t possibly make it your fault too, which meant he shouldn’t have been surprised. Breaking your poor heart by insulting you and taking you for granted, everything was wrong with him for thinking this way!
Whether he liked it or not, his heart said differently about this matter.
Perhaps it was the way you looked that night- he could say- however, it was more than that. With your adoring, sparkling eyes that weren’t easy to miss and your stunning, contagious smile that caused ripples of happiness to fly across the room, he couldn’t blame anyone for falling in love with you. After all, he was a victim of it himself so there was no way he could’ve not in the end. All of those things were true especially, but taking in everything to account as well hanging out with you, your unique individual beauty meant nothing.
He just loved you for you. Loved? No, not loved. Loves. He still loves you for you, and he was a fool to realize it this late. He just lost the best thing in his life due to his stupidity; he knew fully well that you couldn’t ever bring yourself to talk to him face-to-face again if the two of you met again. Would you two even come to meet in the first place? That was the true question here. He and you both knew that due to your resistance and remorse for what happened last weekend that you would never permit yourself to see him. Like he said, he couldn’t blame you for that either.
And yet, why is he trying to convince himself that he’s the only one for you? Your every smile was originally because of him, but now... but now, you’d never let him hear that for one, last time. He couldn’t redo his mistakes of the past of hurting you even if he promised never to do that again. And judging this situation, destiny wouldn’t allow that to happen anyway. With all of your encounters, it seemed as if they all turned out the same way. Everything was ripped into shreds.
«──── « ⋅ʚ♡ɞ⋅ » ────»
“Wait, so you sLEPT WITH HIM?!” Soobin’s voice reached to a dangerous while the two of you paced around the hallways together, trying to quietly talk about last weekend until he so rudely screamed about your untrue administrations. You clasped your hand over his mouth in instinct, punching his shoulder as a warning to keep quiet or else. His body heaved with hearty chuckles while you screamed, telling him to keep his voice down so that you could truly tell him the whole story.
“Soobin! That’s not true; I wouldn’t do anything like that, ever!”
“Well, he’s your ex- and he’s hot, so why wouldn’t you sleep with him?!”
Now some of the students subtly shuffled around to eavesdrop on your conversation, and you groaned at the newfound attention. Just what were you thinking about telling him when sometimes he could contradict himself to be this loud?! It was steaming tea, yes, but no one else had to hear about it! You should’ve told him this stuff at lunch when the two of you were alone.
Swiftly pulling Soobin to the vacant hallway where thankfully no one else was walking, you made sure to keep your voice to a faint hush. You weren’t sure if he could hear you, but you couldn’t risk involving anyone else in this personal matter. Students passed by all around you in the other hallway, holding conversations and walking in groups which was a good sign you could actually speak normally since no one was paying attention anymore.
“So did you or did you not?” He mused, ruffling the top of your head. You pushed his hand away, rolling your eyes at his playfulness when the gravity of the situation needed to be comprehended instead.
“Soobin, I told you we never slept together in that sense last weekend. We were both drunk and shared the same bed! It doesn’t mean anything and we aren’t going to get back together,” you held your breath through those words as you watched the amused smile on his face turn into a pitiful, pouting lip. His adorable puppy dog eyes that were begging you not to get mad at him didn’t seem to work now, and you found yourself telling him off even if you didn’t mean to in the first place.
“You’re so stupid for thinking that, you know?! Yeonjun’s a jerk, I have no clue why I ever got with that bastard in the first place! God, if you never let us meet together then you know I would’ve been happy now. Just why did everything have to turn out this way?!”
The walls of your heart you tried so hard to buttress through your words and actions crumbled with every second you spoke, disintegrating into pure dust the moment your voice leveled to reach your anger. Your chest was trembling as you choked out the last few words, unable to say anything anymore as a lump appeared in your throat. You hated being weak in front of him the most because he’s seen you so many times like this before and he’d very clearly think of you as a crybaby.
He seemed to understand this, shooting you a gently smile as some small encouragement. It was that smile that urged you to snap out of your evil trance immediately. For saying all those rude things to him, it was contradictory since at that very moment you wanted to take everything back. The guilt ate you up in an instant once you took in his dumbfound yet soft expression, causing you to envelope him in a warm embrace as contrition. He never deserved this treatment when it wasn’t even his fault anyway.
“I... I’m sorry, Soobin. I shouldn’t have taken it out on you. It’s just so hard on me now since I know I shouldn’t have done that with him last weekend. We didn’t do a lot, and yet I still want to say that I love him...? Even now I won’t allow myself to cry and be weak but,” your voice faltered as your body slightly shivered, “I can’t do it. I just can’t be strong anymore. It’s so hard.”
Soobin sighed, generously allowing you to lean on him like last time. You were so strong- you had always been so strong in front of him, and it hurt him to see that you were slowly breaking no matter how much you tried to stop it. He could see right through the so called smile you shot him this morning as soon as you saw him. He knew right then and there that something happened to you during the weekend and when he heard it was all about Yeonjun... he had to contain himself not to beat up his best friend or else the friendship he treasured dearly would crash, fall, and wouldn’t withstand.
However, the truth remained. Little by little, you were shattering due to Yeonjun’s actions and he could only watch helplessly as you flew freely to the ground. It was an understatement to say that he was starting to hate his best friend for doing this to you, but in the end he believed you. If you did it before, then you could do it again right? And you knew that Soobin was always right there for you no matter what.
Last month you gave it your all in order to move on. He truly admired that you kept running and running towards the future even if you felt that there was no end, a quality he secretly cherished of you. As a person, you were strong in your own way and Soobin was proud of you. He just didn’t know how to say it now without making the bright atmosphere droop. It was always like this whenever a problem with your relationship arose. He brought you closer to his arms.
“You’re not weak at all for crying, Y/N. I think you’ve been holding it for too long now. You’re always welcome to come to me, alright? I’ll save you from that stupid Yeonjun and make you happier than he ever has! You deserve someone much better. You and I both know this.”
He wiped your every tear which streamed against your cheek with his thumb gently, and somehow you finally smiled. Ardent, genuine, and sincere, your smile was enough to cause another one of his own towards you, a great deal of blinding happiness all around you. You were sure Soobin was waiting for this after a while, although it came out at a surprising time. You didn’t expect it either.
This was another feeling you couldn’t ever get enough of, for it reminded you of the time when Yeonjun asked you to be his... but comparing it to this wasn’t right at all.
No words were spoken between the two of you, but it really did mean a great deal of comfort to you. How could he offer up this ample amount of support towards you? You made a promise to yourself to make it up to him one day.
A few minutes later, you reluctantly pulled away from his sweet hug to check the time on your phone. You weren’t sure how long you’d been holding each other like this (and you really did enjoy it), but if you kept dawdling then you would miss every single afternoon class. Your eyes scanned through the upper numbers.
Crap. You already missed the first few minutes!
You scrambled to get yourself off him, pulling your bag over your shoulder in a haste. “Wait, I’ll tell you the details later!” You waved your hand for a flimsy goodbye, rushing to get every paper in your bags in check. It was a pathetic bye, that was for sure. You rushed out before Soobin could even mutter a bye, hoping to get there in good time so that you wouldn’t embarrass yourself in front of everyone. Oh, well. You’ll see him later.
Your footsteps faded away little by little and yet another set rippled through his ears through little clacks on the spotless floor. He wondered if you were coming back to ask him something but before he could turn around, sweet words that were due to a familiar tone made his heart stop in place.
“Please, take care of her for me.”
...
Upon hearing that voice Soobin halted in his tracks, looking back at a pair of warm, brown eyes that met his own. By the looks of it, he heard everything you said. Not to mention that it was the second time the boy eavesdropped at that.
“Soobin, please? You can date her even if it hurts but just please... if I can’t look after her, then who else’ll take her to her favorite restaurant?”
The pleas did not matter to him all the more, if he was being honest. This game was something he didn’t want to be involved in but looks like fate had its plans. It was obvious now. He hated this and although he said you deserved better, it was clear that the two of you were destined to be together.
«──── « ⋅ʚ♡ɞ⋅ » ────»
The door clamorously creaked as soon as you entered, making you cringe at the sudden but minimal heads that turned towards you. You shyly offered up a smile, reorganizing the books in your hands to pass off some of the attention somewhere else. Some of the people there were doing their own things and focused on talking to each other to an extent. You sighed gratefully. Thankfully you could sit alone at a spot where no one would notice you at the top of the row.
After you wondered where the rest of the students were and the professor whom you searched for in every direction, you gave up with a relieving drop of your shoulders and decided to sit down. Glancing at the time, you muttered how stupid you were under your breath for reading the clock wrong. You were fortunately five minutes earlier, but looks like you have to wait now until the lesson starts.
Getting situated in your spot was an easy thing and you toyed with your phone when you heard a shuffling of clothes sitting next to you on the right. It wasn’t such a good time to be socializing right now since you felt like crap but if you were going to make new friends, you might as well do so now. After all, college was supposed to be a good experience minus all the endless assignments and projects to prepare for your future.
You managed to steal a look at the person who sat right next to you but became paralyzed in your spot when you realized who it was, whipping your head where you wouldn’t be able to get distracted by him. That dazzling, blue hair was unmistakable. And the perfect, rosy lips were too! How could you not be tainted when he chose to sit next to you?! Seeing as the latter was impossible when you heard his deep voice murmur the words ‘good morning,’ a bead of sweat collected at your forehead. He was never this bold before after you broke up, and you pondered if he wanted to be good friends again after what happened. The audacity was unbelievable.
You couldn’t understand why he’d choose to be beside you when there were many more other open spots in the room. He must’ve been mocking you, making fun of you after how weak you looked a few days before.
The question was though, why the hell was he sitting right there?! Right next to you?! You could feel the words becoming stuck in your throat as you choked out a good morning back, too anxious to say anything or else it’d initiate a conversation between the two of you. That was the least thing you wanted to do as of now, wasting all your energy on the time spent convincing yourself he’d make up some small talk. That time however never came, and you were left politely smiling at the one and only Choi Yeonjun when you randomly found him staring at you.
The professor finally arrived, lifting off a heavy burden on your chest when you could’ve been dreading the lesson instead. You should’ve left before as to not create any conflict, but anymore absences and your future would’ve been as good as dead. Although you could look at the bright side now! Yeonjun wouldn’t be able to talk to you or else he’d miss some important things which would in turn affect his grades. You threw a grateful smile towards the center of the cavernous room, becoming a little bit relaxed even if some part of you was still freaking out he was that close to you.
The class was a blur, pointless information echoing throughout the room you didn’t care to learn since you were dozing off. Your mind was too busy looking back at the events that went down last weekend, becoming more tired with every second that passed. It was hard to get your brain off that addicting stuff called overthinking every single time you caught Yeonjun staring at you with tender, soft eyes. Simultaneously, you were hoping no one would call you out for daydreaming of what could’ve been, so you hid behind a tall person’s blonde head, hoping not to be caught.
Sadly, you were brought back to the room when a chorus of sighs collected together to make a violin whimper of disappointment.
“You will be working with the person beside you on the right,” the professor declared, clearing their throat while most of the class groaned altogether. Wait so that means...
In an instant, everything seemed way too overheated in the room now. Were you the only one feeling hot or what?! You knew fully what was supposed to come next since you were the only two sitting on the top, the rest of the bottom being filled out by tons of people who were tuning in to the lesson.
Sometimes life doesn’t work the way we want it to. That itself was obvious. Otherwise you’d be somewhere else being happy instead of working with this jerk!
You couldn’t help the frustration of curses you thought in your head, glaring at the boy who was giggling cutely to himself.
“Oh, looks like you’re paired up with me! I can’t wait to work with you, Y/N~” The tone of his voice made your heart skip a beat, the all too familiar teasing getting to your head. As you expected, whatever he said would have an effect on you, instantly making you heat up at how true that statement was.
Smiling, you gulped, feeling too parched all of a sudden. God only knows how much you wanted to get out of there right away. You were dying not to embarrass yourself, collecting your books together as you slathered a polite tone to your voice. Somehow you got the words out despite making clear eye contact with him way too long for your own good. It felt so wrong to say he was a masterpiece but it felt so right to keep looking at him like this.
“Where should we work?” Yeonjun asked once more.
He leaned closer to you, leaning on his hand as he maintained an direct, intent gaze. Your lips formed into a straight line, hopelessly wishing he wouldn’t see how much of a mess you were in front of him. Then he licked his lips. That was the end of you! He and you both knew that it was meant to be flirtatious. Your ears burned at the sight. Well that was enough to be looking at his eyes now! You foolishly turned away.
“Hmm, how about we meet at the bakery everyday at five? Are you okay with that?” Yeonjun suggested, raising an eyebrow to comprehend your unsure expression. You nodded your head acceptingly, albeit a bit defeated. He shouldn’t have been expecting anything. You were fine with whatever place you could meet up by, but didn’t he know that you weren’t fine working with him?!
After the quiet and easily awkward atmosphere, you turned on your heel getting up from the exhausting spot. It was much too uncomfortable for you to plan out a schedule with him, and second you weren’t able to catch the directions with him chatting it up a bunch.
Of course you wanted to be mature about the situation, but it was impossible for you. If it was another person, then you would’ve been fine. You could ask around but that itself was scary too. Your heart was in a tugging predicament with you in between, and you weren’t sure what to choose. Seems like Yeonjun was your only choice now. It would’ve helped you move on but with him right there, it would be harder to really think about yourself for once. You shot him one more look, hoping it would be the last.
“Yeonjun, don’t think you’re fooling me with this flirting. You know I can’t work with you after what you said. I’m sorry, but find someone else who’ll be open to being your partner.” You opted to get up from your seat, trying to dash away as quickly and quietly as possible until he said something that made you paralyzed as you got up.
“Y/N, please wait!”
Suddenly the world stopped and in it, you could only see the two of you with Yeonjun clinging gently to you.
He grabbed your arm before you could move to another seat, holding on tightly just to make you stay. You winced at how warm it was compared to your shaking arm, avoiding his vulnerable eyes due to embarrassment. You didn’t know how you were supposed to do this project anyway when you couldn’t even look at him in the first place.
“I know, and I’m really sorry. I shouldn’t have done whatever we did while we were drunk and bothered you like that. Just... can you work with me this once? I want you to get a good grade with me.”
Gradually, his words became inaudible at the end, as if too ashamed to say it out loud. It was an understatement to say what he said was surprising. Therefore you couldn’t help but gasp at how vulnerable he got when you tried to move away from him when you thought he would’ve let you go after what happened. It was clearly too much for you to see his adorable puppy dog eyes, glistening and sparkling with sincerity when you safely decided to look back at him, feeling weak in the knees with uncertainty of what to say.
And although you wanted to say no so badly, you spoke without thinking and murmured something only he could hear.
“Okay then... Let’s do well.”

Before you knew it, five pm rolled by and you were face-to-face at the bakery where Yeonjun was waiting for you. At this point, you were reluctant to go through with this since you could easily say you hadn’t found anyone to do the project with. But knowing that the teacher was stubborn and hardheaded when they made plans like these, it would be impossible to convince him to let you work alone. Plus, you actually got ready instead of throwing your favorite hoodie this time! You couldn’t let all your extra effort and special preparing to go to waste just because it was Yeonjun.
And gosh, you just had to remind yourself it was Yeonjun again.
The advances were simple. You had brought all your heavy books relating to the subject, hoping they’d be able to help but now all they seemed to do was weigh you down from getting the door. The wind was heartless, sending icy gusts through your clothes as you heaved out a sigh. It would’ve been good if you just left now instead. But this would only make matters worse. You swiped your phone again, purposely ignoring the contact name of ‘Stupid Mean Jerk Jjuniebug.’ He hadn’t texted you yet saying he was there so you hesitated a tiny bit before reaching for the golden door handle and eventually going inside.
The warm smell of cookies, cakes, and a variety of baked breads welcomed your nose, making the corners of your lips turn up with satisfaction. Out of all the distractions in the world, the Boulangerie was such a perfect place to go to do anything, really. If it wasn’t for your stupid project, you’d probably relax and enjoy a cup of your favorite drink paired with one of the delights they had here! It sounded like flawless idea. Happily, you made a mental memorandum in your head to plan out a day with Soobin where the two of you could hang out and tell stories to each other. He would definitely enjoy this place because of all of the bread you could order.
Surprisingly, Yeonjun was there already and you assumed he was writing something important down due to the determined expression on his face. He furrowed an eyebrow, slightly biting is lip while you inched towards him. You couldn’t help the smile that arose on your cheeks because of how endearing he looked as he worked hard, holding tightly to the books in your arms when you finally came close to him.
He looked up from his little notes of hearts and bunnies he was doodling as soon as a pair of shoes made unpretentious clitter-clacks, eyes lighting up with admiration when he realized that it was you standing there.
“I ordered your favorite dessert while waiting for you. Do you still like it?”
The words got stuck in your throat. He got you something? He must’ve been thinking of your arrival too attentively otherwise there’s no way that was true, but gosh did Yeonjun prove you wrong in a second.
Glancing at the sweets before you paired with a dainty teacup of your favorite drink, a gasp left your lips that embodied awe since he still remembered what you liked to order whenever you came to the Boulangerie with him. The snow white lace of the table fabric created flashbacks in your mind and you tensed up in realization. You hadn’t come here in two months- the last time you were able to picture your last date with him. Although, that wasn’t the point at all.
You were not to be expecting anything after the two of you separated even if the two of you were exes. It was just in Yeonjun’s moral codes in life to be kind to anybody and especially you whenever he please just because it was normal to him. You adored how pure he was, but at the same time you couldn’t shake how he acted towards you almost two months ago. That hostile expression on his face- one you’d never seen before- couldn’t ever be erased from your memory no matter how much effort you put in it.
But the past was the past. No bad things could happen like that now, could it? It was all because the two of you broke up. You were exes.
And yet, you could smile freely like nothing of the sort happened towards the two of you. After all, it was the right thing to do wasn’t it? Yeonjun would’ve wanted you to do that too, you knew it deep inside despite desiring to deny it. To move on and not have any feelings of pent up frustration and anger towards each other. Joy swelled in your heart at how much maturity you were gaining because of heartbreak. Maybe the two of you could be friends. Maybe.
“Thank you so much for doing this even if you didn’t have to, Yeonjun. I’m surprised you even came since your friends are much more interesting than me. I’m glad that you did though.”
You decided to take a bite in the delicacy, immediately not regretting the dulcet decision as you relished in the simple sweetness that came with it. Honestly, you missed this wonderful, mouth watering taste so much! Just like what you remembered, you shut your eyes in pure content, not being able to take in the sight of the boy in front of you who chuckled to himself.
Yeonjun heaved a breath of amusement from his chest, cheek laying down on his hand again as his eyes showed nothing but the sincere feeling of endearment towards you. He shifted comfortably on his side, grabbing one of the crimson, bright strawberries from his plate as he bit onto the juicy tip of it.
“You know, you’re always cute when you smile like that,” he whispered, not caring whether or not you heard it- which you obviously did.
You puffed your cheeks out at this.
“Shut up...! We’re here for a project, remember? Not to... flirt, silly.”
The mischievous yet saccharine grin on his face made you flustered and you glanced away from him, pretending to look at the tray of enclosed desserts that you saw when you first entered the bakery. You couldn’t allow yourself to become distracted like this! Not to mention that looking at him straight through doesn’t seem to help either!
“Oh, but when I look at you I can’t seem to focus on anything else. I’m being serious here; I just really can’t seem to take my eyes off you.”
The slamming yet gentle sound of you slamming the spoon you were holding on the table gave everything away and his eyes turned into euphoric crescents that only signaled delight.
“Yeonjun, I said shut your trap. All these cheesy compliments and I’ll... we have to do our project, so please cooperate and let’s put our work together to actually do something good.” You pulled your books together in a pile, acting as if you were really doing something in order to distract him from teasing you. The raging beat of your heart begged to differ, so you hoped he wouldn’t hear it or else that would give him another reason to make you flustered.
“As you wish, princess. We’ll work so well together that you’ll miss me once I drop you home!”
Princess...?
He’ll drop you home...?
You groaned in annoyance at the nickname and offer although you kind of enjoyed it, wanting to smack Yeonjun in the mouth for not listening to your request. He must’ve been deaf or something because the whole time he kept throwing coy phrases you’d never heard before or trying to whine about how much work it all was for the two of you.
You were only starting to understand how annoying he was whenever he got cranky and dozed off for thirty minutes, leaving you to search through all those books and gather information yourself which was luckily a lot of help. It was a nice silence for a while but once he got back to annoying you endlessly, you swore you could rip all your hair off from the frustration building up from inside of you.
How were you going to do a week of working with him when you couldn’t even look at him in the eye every time he made pouty, kissing lips? Or take him seriously whenever he called you a pet name for that matter? You wished future you the best luck, unfortunately not knowing what would arrive in the times to come.
...
“Hey, could you look at this for a second? I’m having trouble if I should or more exactly- how I should put this down when it makes no sense.”
You laughed at how clueless he was when it came to his favorite subject, shuffling right beside him to see what he was struggling with. It was too natural, too suspicious for the both of you not to know this. You contained the snickers of mock once you put it all together, silently calling him stupid in your head for not being able to jot down this simple effortless thing. You twisted your body towards the notes, enough for your shoulders to meet together.
Little did you know that Yeonjun only wanted you to come close to him, and it was more than suffice to say it worked out in his favor.
You were explaining everything to him but the only thing he could focus on was the little things about you. The bitty, endearing gestures of your hands while you connected two of the subjects, the way your chest heaved up and down when you took a tiny breath of air, and even how your lips opened and closed was enough for Yeonjun’s fluffy cheeks to heat up and bloom into a rosy red. The words droned off as it echoed between the two of you, easily becoming pointless since he wasn’t paying attention anyway.
A couple of seconds passed between the two of you when the bakery suddenly became silent, and he gripped the pencil he dropped earlier on the table as you shot him a shy smile. Yeonjun’s knuckles became white with every second his stare lingered on you. You were way too cute for your own good, and you didn’t even know it- so why was he surprised? He, too, was hoping you wouldn’t be able to notice the aggressive thumping in his chest.
“Yeonjun? You got all of that, right?” Your symphony-like voice snapped him from out of his trance.
“Okay, then I’ll put that down,” he breathed tiredly.” It looks like he was getting exhausted too, huh? You were about to say a few words of encouragement until he cut you off with his own.
“We’re almost done researching; just hang in there, alright? You’ve been doing so well, Y/N.”
The gentle, supporting words was enough to send ripples through your heart and you nodded your head, all the while checking through what you noted and what you forgot. You wanted to keep thinking about what he said and how it motivated you to keep going. You didn’t want to upset you and most definitely not him. However, the fatigue coating your eyes was too much and you slowly closed the heavy lids, head slowly turning to the side before you fell on something all too familiar.
A sudden yet light weight on his shoulder made him look up from what he was writing down, stunning him in his spot when he saw you had fallen asleep on his shoulder. He must’ve known that this much thinking wore you out after such a long while. A tender smile decorated his lips and he took in your every feature, hoping to draw out the face that made him feel alive.
“She’s so cute...” He grabbed his jacket from the side he’d taken off earlier, laying it gently upon you with his other hand as if it was something he’d done since the beginning of time. You nuzzled your cheek against his way too comfortable shoulder, becoming more snug with each minute that passed by. He couldn’t help the skip in his heartbeat when you muttered his favorite nickname in your sleep, this ‘Jjuniebug’ being much more different compared to the past because he knew you were dreaming of him.
When such a sight like this was to be treasured by anyone, he decided he didn’t want to work anymore. Like the gentleman he was, he gathered your books together, pushing your plate to the side before laying his head against yours. He intertwined your hands with his, grinning gently from ear to ear at the warmness he felt from inside.
He stole one more glance at you, fingers delicately dancing from your cheekbone all the way to your chin, tracing your jaw as gingerly as he could. This was what he was hoping for after such a long time of not receiving it. That itself was rightfully so, yet having you near meant the world and so much more to him.
Then he glanced out the window where rain was drizzling, creating a dreading gray atmosphere which was nothing but chaos. It could’ve been something that alerted him on such a dreary day, making him anxious at how he was going to get home in a mess. But to him, he wouldn’t trade this peaceful present. Always, he wanted to be close to you like this. It couldn’t have been too much to ask, honestly.
“Tell me,” he said to no one in particular, “how can you make a moment last forever?”

Tuesday passed as quickly as Monday did and you swiftly got prepared for five pm later. You were bouncing with excitement, ready to see the boy who’d been waiting for you over at the library, a place you decided together when he texted you during lunch break. To be true to yourself, you couldn’t wait to work with him. All day you were waiting for the horrid, slow hours to pass of lectures and countless assignments online, lingering silently through the minutes that seemed to go by forever in hopes that everything would go faster. The relief you felt when you were dismissed for the day and the joy that swelled in your heart when you went home, preparing yourself as best you could.
You didn’t understand why you were buzzing with energy over meeting someone like this, for wasn’t it true the two of you were exes? Two months ago you broke up; that was quite obvious. It didn’t help that and that number one: he was a jerk after a while of dating you, and number two: he was probably playing with your heart if you decided to be smart. But then again you always rewarded that guilty pleasure by saying the past was the past and he bought you your favorite delicacy. He may have hurt you before and because of that, you promised yourself you wouldn’t ever date him ever again.
With that thought in mind you threw your favorite outfit on that you planned just the night before, looking in the mirror twice just to make sure you looked okay. Deep down you knew it was a lie to say you weren’t doing these special things for him, trying to convince yourself that in doing so- this dressing up would do your ego a favor. Yeonjun didn’t have to see this, not at all! It was all because you wanted to look decent. Just that.
So sneakily, you crept out of the house while slipping your shoes on since nobody would notice you were gone. You checked your phone at least twice before opening the door, clearly not ready for the surprising sight your eyes landed upon as soon as you left home.
In front of you was the boy who had taken your mind captive all day, smiling from ear to ear as his fingers combed gently through his blue hair.
You gasped at how he actually came to your house after teasing yesterday that he would, but you never knew he’d carry out his plan. He would keep poking your cheek while saying something under his breath like how he’d visit you one day to pick you up. He would never do that, right? Well no, you were extremely wrong and just a day after your project date went well.
Nonetheless, you couldn’t stop the touched grin on your face to know he was waiting for you.
“Hey, Y/N,” he shyly giggled and that itself made your heart skip a beat, “let’s walk to the library together today, alright? Wait, let me take your books, please!”
Even with your protests and several no’s, he still took your books and placed it snugly against his left arm, teasing about how light they were together. You glared at him for a second before taking a few steps when he suddenly grabbed your hand.
You turned around, eyes wide in a daze.
“What is it?”
An overwhelming heat rose up to your cheeks and ears, making you feel hot in the face as you realized he was still holding on.
“If it isn’t too much to ask, can I hold your hand today? I really miss the warm feeling you gave me last summer.”
He held his hand out expectantly, waiting for you to take it on your own accord. You easily obliged- albeit a bit hesitantly- putting your hand against his and allowing him to guide you to wherever- whenever he wanted. The way his eyes lit up as he lead you to the place was precious, making you feel soft with endearment at how gentle he treated you.
Now this? This was bad. So, so bad.
On the day you left Yeonjun’s house in tears, you weren’t expecting any of this to happen. You weren’t sure how you could trust him so easily after everything he’s done- maybe it was the way you felt his sincerity in every smile he sent you or how tenderly he had grabbed your hand just now, but the happiness bottling up inside you did not lie. You felt pure jubilation whenever you saw him.

It was Wednesday.
Wednesday, the middle of the school days where you desperately wanted to claw your eyes out from how tedious everything was. Wednesday, a day where nothing significant happened but nothing too horrible happened either. Wednesday, a reminder that you only had two days left- counting today and Thursday- to work with Yeonjun. You hated the bitter taste of having to really say goodbye, but the future had to be on the brighter side then. After this, you swore you wouldn’t ever see him and his damn handsome face for another accidental time.
Just about reaching four in the afternoon, you decided to go with Soobin over to the Boulangerie where you’d been promising yourself to take him since Monday. It was luck on your side today that you actually went out for some fresh air, carrying out some of the awaiting plans you had on your checklist. Sometimes it was nice to have a breather in the middle of the week when everything else was distracting.
It started off as usual, and you realized you hadn’t seen him since that very day of hearing Yeonjun’s offer to be your partner. To be quite honest, you didn’t really think about telling him since it shouldn’t be that important, but the boy knew it was important just by from the hesitance in your expressions. His fingers placed the glass filled with chocolate milk on the table gently and curiously prodded.
“Y/N? You’ve been acting strange lately; is everything okay?”
You glanced up from the china plate, eyes widening with surprise. You weren’t sure what he was talking about. It couldn’t have been anything important, could it? Or were you being so obvious about your giant, giant problem?
“Yeah, everything is fine, Bin! Trust me, there isn’t anything going wrong but I guess you could say that... from your perspective.”
You made sure to look at the way he reacted and seeing how his head titled with wonder, you chose to give it a try.
“Well... I should’ve called you about this but I’m working with Yeonjun for a project. We have to turn it in by Friday, but we’ve been doing stuff on it since Monday. It doesn’t mean anything though, and we’re supposed to meet up at the park (Moonlight) today.” You intentionally left out the fact he asked you and those sweet moments since you were afraid of his reaction.
You knew he was one to be respectful and kind no matter the person, although because of all this tugging back and forth between his best friends- you couldn’t blame him for wanting to sock either one of you for being so stupid. And stupid were you and Yeonjun for not being able to get enough of each other, at least that’s how you viewed it. Soobin wouldn’t dare to hurt either one of you since the two of you were best friends; physically wouldn’t cut it. You hoped he would just remain patient like he’d always have- one thing you were grateful for, obviously, instead of freaking out at the recent moments you’ve experienced.
That being said, the look on Soobin’s face was absolutely priceless once you told him about your predicament.
“You two? On a project? TOGETHER?!”
Glumly you nodded your head, expecting him to say something but his mouth was filled with shock to the brim that he couldn’t even bring himself to say anything.
“Yup, that’s true. You didn’t know about it?” To say the least, you were surprised he didn’t know about it since Yeonjun was one to trust him about everything. Little things like this would count, yes, and you could very vividly remember how he blabbed to Soobin when you first started dating about how to keep a girl on her period happy.
In response, he shook his head, hand still glued covering his mouth. Your lips slightly turned upwards at his melodramatic feedback.
“No, he didn’t tell me anything at all about it! Why are you guys keeping secrets from me?”
Ouch, that stung. But at the same time, what were you expecting?
“That’s a surprise. I thought he couldn’t keep his mouth--”
The deafening, shuffling sound of the store bell rang throughout your ears, causing you to shudder at the intermittent sound. This was a popular Boulangerie so you didn’t need to be surprised whenever a new customer came in, but it stunned you at the worst times. You shrugged at Soobin’s suddenly ghost white reaction, thinking he was just kidding with you again and went back to the cup of a refreshing drink. Honestly, you couldn’t care less about it unless it was someone you knew.
You lifted the cup to pass through your lips until the familiar sight of messy radiant, blue hair caught the peripheral vision of your eye.
It had to be him. It couldn’t be anyone else.
“Y-Yeonjun...?”
As your heart dropped to your stomach, your voice broke out gently, making you the only person to hear it muffled with both distress and disbelief. There was no possible way you were witnessing what was happening in front of you. You didn’t want to believe it, squinting your eyes over and over again just to get a good look. It was still him no matter what you did, no matter what you changed.
Somehow, he didn’t notice you.
He sat down at a table, sending a sugary smile towards an alluring girl who sent him the same one back. Your back became rigid at the too close proximity of their faces. They chatted for a little bit about anything that could cross their minds, obviously flirting with the stares sent back and forth and back again until it turned into a full discussion- both of them laughing their hearts out. Happiness from the ideal ‘couple’ (as anyone could’ve mistaken them) spread around the Boulangerie contagiously, making everyone awe at the sight of them fully enjoying themselves. But you? You? Your heart shattered piece by piece while watching this play out.
Too many questions flooded in your mind at once as well as too many insecurities, paralyzing you in your spot as you couldn’t find the correct way to breathe again. It was getting too hard to find the air in, you realized. Soobin called your name out many times- to get you to listen, to get you out of your stupid trance, to get you to do anything else in the world but look because it’d hurt you just as much as it did for him!
To this, you were only sitting still, staring and staring like a dormant painting hanging in a museum just to find out that you wouldn’t ever be able to change anything, but only see the people in front of you. You didn’t want to look at the face of pain in front of you but... if you looked away then something else might happen.
You cradled yourself in your arms, trying to stop the icy cold breeze that whirled pass your rips and over to the tips of your toes. It didn’t make sense to you. Why even bother putting effort into winning him back? You wouldn’t be able to be as good enough. You shouldn’t have even tried in the first place.
You gulped down those insecurities again, trying to calm your shaking hands.
It wasn’t possible to be that perfect... not at all. She was such a stunning girl, the epitome of everything you weren’t and what you didn’t have. She had such sparkling eyes, such a gorgeous smile, and not to mention an impeccable complexion that had every single girl in the world jealous. Everything about her was simply perfect and that drowned your own specialties into the deepest ocean called hatred.
Once again you glanced at Yeonjun who seemed to be having fun with the deep chuckles and smiles he was freely giving up. Oh, how bad you wanted it to be you but this reminder was one that gave you a wake up call. You never really had a chance in the first place.
He then turned his head a little to the side, ultimately being able to see you sitting next to Soobin just like you had planned. His honeyed brown eyes changed from smug into something unreadable you couldn’t put your finger on before changing in a split second to look back at the girl.
The decision dawned on you, and you clenched your fists until you felt flashing, white pain run through your fingers.
He didn’t even care.
You were stupid enough to believe he actually liked you back again. You were stupid enough to think that with all these sweet interactions and words, he was warming up to you for another countless time. You were stupid to think he was being truthful that drunken night, saying he needed you clearly as much as you needed him. Finally, you were stupid enough to think he loved you. Now the proof was smack dab in your face, blinding you from your goal of hating him, and you were such a fool to be thinking he would really be yours after such a long while.
The glossy tears gathered in your eyes, angry, frustrated but pointless words with no explanation becoming more stuck in your throat when you glanced once more at the sight across from you. Time passed by through the regal clock, ringing in an ear and out the other. One way or another, you needed to get out of there and you needed it to be now.
You hastily slung your bag filled with papers over your shoulders, making sure you hid the flowing tears from everyone’s sight. Just one turn and he’d probably see you so pitiful at the wrong time. You certainly didn’t want to look pathetic, especially not in front of Yeonjun, whom you still loved with all your heart.
In a dash, you aggressively swiped the entrance of the door handle and into the day where you just wanted to disappear. Bell ringing haphazardly behind you, you weren’t able to perceive you were out of the bakery until another customer ignored your everblooming sadness, struggling behind you to get the door. Tears soon fell on the ground after holding them in for too long, signaling your vulnerability as you crouched down behind the bakery to let everything keeping your heart captive out. This time, for real, you really weren’t going to see him again even if it meant your grades being obliterated.
You hated him. You hated him so much for what he did back there.
And yet here you were, running away from your problems again.
«──── « ⋅ʚ♡ɞ⋅ » ────»
“Y/N?”
It was a mistake. It was all a mistake. You shouldn’t have pressed accept without looking at the contact name. You were just so stupid that it was funny. Just another one of the reasons why he wouldn’t ever want to date you again. How could you blame him for breaking up with you?
“Y/N, you there?”
He was seeing another girl, you should’ve known. Why didn’t you know? Why did you have to be such a fool to be used in the first place? And why the hell were you sad about it when you could be using this opportunity to be getting over him?!
“Y/N, you’re not responding and I’m getting worried. Is there something I can do? Please...?”
You were just exes. Exes, for crying out loud! Exes. That’s all.
“Y/N, if you’re there just-”
“yeah, I’m right here,” you murmured quietly, caring any less that he might have not heard you in the end. If he was able to really see how you accidentally looked at him earlier, then surely he would’ve known how the world crashed on your shoulders just by looking at you. Oh, but it was funny wasn’t it? It didn’t matter anyway. After all, he wouldn’t give a damn right? Not what he did back there he wouldn’t.
Because of that, you realized that this conversation with him was not needed. Whether it was because of the project or if it was for a favor, you wouldn’t be able to do it without looking weak in his eyes. Your finger hovered over the red button, tempted to press hang up until again, his act of using a concerned voice tugged painfully on your heart strings.
“Wait, are you okay? Do you need me to be there? Something’s wrong, I know you’re not okay,” he tried for another time, breathing through the call tiredly as if he was oblivious to what went on earlier. The hate for him smoldered in your chest, and your fingers tightened around the phone so arduously that they turned white, shaking hysterically.
“No, I...” you felt your voice break, and you covered the change in pitch by clearing your throat. With the lump so gigantic that you couldn’t even breathe, it hurt to tell him a lie, much less speak at that moment. You put on a tone to make it more believable. “Everything’s fine. Just busy right now.”
“You’re lying,” he whispered so softly into the receiver you were wondering yourself if you had heard him in the first place. You forced yourself to laugh at his statement, but it came naturally, knowing it was all too true.
“I’m not lying, I promise! I just took a nap, that’s all. No need to be so worked up over me.” You figured that teasing him would be the best way to cover up your sorrow, giggling alongside him because you were so bad at lying. Nonetheless, you hoped he would take this approach, waiting silently on the floor for his best answer.
On the other side he hummed hesitantly, mumbling a few words that you couldn’t quite comprehend because you knew he didn’t want to hear them. You barely noticed you were in the corner holding yourself, rocking back and forth as the anticipation of just hanging up crept up on you.
Before you could start, Yeonjun grumbled in concern.
“Well... okay then. But if you really want to convince me you’re fine then you’ll keep your promise and meet at Moonlight today. We still have a lot to do, so let’s meet up at the usual time. You’ll be there, right?”
“Um... I...”
What else could you say? It would be rude to decline and you weren’t in the mood to lie after all that. Well, he didn’t buy it all but at least he got off the topic. You were thankful to him for not budging, although this had to be one of the worst things he could ever suggest. Not only about how you feel in the end but about the project too. As far as you were concerned, you only a little left so you were able to work separately anyway. He didn’t have to go so far to do things his way, but this would show you he didn’t need you at all.
You spoke on impulse hastily after the long, deafening silence.
“Yeah, okay. S-see you then.”
Abruptly, you hung up before the tears could start again. Not even letting him throw in a sincere goodbye to your predicament.

Just like what you remembered, Moonlight was still a breathtaking place where the golden sun shone during the day and the moon peeked out from the dim curtains of nighttime. You sighed, staring longingly at the beautiful scenery before you and sat down under one of the trees. It’d been so long since you chose to come here, especially by yourself this time. There were happy memories that came along with this place and you didn’t want to think about the bad ones, of course. However everywhere you looked, it would only remind you of him and that was the least thing you wanted to have at the back of your mind right now.
Checking the time, you made sure you didn’t arrive too early or too late. It was a few minutes after five and true to your word, you actually came. You were surprised at yourself for showing up voluntarily with your mind in such a bad condition, acting as if you were okay just for a stupid project. If you’d done this earlier, you would’ve definitely said no. Perhaps it was the way he was worried about you- although, you thought it was fishy- that you wanted to come. Maybe then you would’ve gotten the attention you wanted after all this time, with this being the final time you’ll see him.
Eventually, you saw the familiar blue haired boy arrive just a quarter after your planned time. He was panting heavily and you swore you almost felt bad for him until the image of him catching eyes with you from earlier rearranged your thought process by miles. You stood up expectantly as he ran over to you, planting his hands on his knees in order to regain breath.
“So sorry for being late, Y/N,” he choked out restlessly, taking your hands into his as an apology. He held them tightly in place, squeezing in an attempt to excuse himself for why he was late. Instantly you gasped at the contact, slowly pulling away so that he wouldn’t realize that you more or less hated his affection. At times when you’d be melting at this, you failed to realize that your suspicions were true and he was playing you behind your back.
A tight lipped smile that screamed passive-aggressiveness became of your lips and you were eager to take a few steps away from him, shuffling to get under the spot you sat earlier. You backed away a little bit but weren’t able to get far because your shoes slipped from something shaped like a square underneath you. The breath was knocked off your lungs as you fell towards the ground and you plunged back, waiting to hit the ground. That is, until someone caught you by the waist.
You opened your eyes after a few seconds of waiting and as soon as you did... you felt all the blood rush up into your face.
“Y-Yeonjun...”
You weren’t expecting anything like this. Nothing sweet like this at all! Said boy was intently gazing at you, holding you by the waist as you were too shocked to say or hell- even do anything with him this close. Your head tilted away to the side this time, trying to think of anything else that would stop the intermittent pace of your heart beats. Gossiping with Soobin about what happened just now, the way you fell at school a few years earlier and embarrassed yourself and how he helped you up out of everyone else right after, the first moment you laid eyes on him and met the blue haired boy just like that... But no, all you could think of was him, him, and only him!
He seemed to be getting a kick out of this, teasing you with an adorable smile that had you awestruck.
“Were you scared...? Don’t worry about it anymore; I’ll always be here to catch you when you fall, I promise.”
It was then that he started to lean in after chuckling at your shyness, bringing your face closer to his as his eyes ran across yours. Your breath quickened just by looking back at him turn towards you- his gorgeous eyelashes that you felt the need to count each, his nose that was sculpted by the angels, his cherry blossom pink lips you so desperately needed- memorizing every valley on his face as you had done earlier when the two of you dated. Oh wait, dated...?
In a moment, you flung yourself off him. What were you doing with him?! Whatever this was and whatever he was doing- it wasn’t right! It just wasn’t right... It wasn’t right when he was choosing to see someone else, and that girl back there no matter how much you couldn’t help but despise her- did not deserve it. It wasn’t right.
Your legs felt like jelly, unable to stand by yourself as you carried out an attempt to get away from him. It didn’t seem so long ago that you couldn’t get enough of him but now you were itching to be left alone. You wanted to deal with this yourself, not reignite the fire of the hopes that he would return back. He lost that chance and you lost the chance of loving him again- even if yes, you still did love him. It was enough for you anyway- the love he gave you before only serving as a unreachable memory. You realized you needed to relinquish him.
Immediately you pushed him off you, watching the sweet expression on his face bend into something broken. The distance between you became even farther and farther with every breath your chest heaved. You gulped.
“I’m fine. Let’s just get to work so we can finish this,” you deadpanned, bringing your books that used to be laying dormant on the green grassland against your chest, moving under the tree where he broke up with you. This way you would be able to remind yourself that it wasn’t meant to be.
Surprised by your ill nature, Yeonjun nodded carefully, deciding to ponder in his head what was making you act this way instead of asking more questions. There was obviously something wrong, but he didn’t want to bother you more. To him he was unable to think of what he had done wrong and certainly hated the tense atmosphere when you refused to touch him, much less look at him. He just went along with it unknowingly like a fool that it was because of him the whole time.
«──── « ⋅ʚ♡ɞ⋅ » ────»
It was too hard to concentrate.
Your eyes searched despondently over the materials over and over and over again to write down something- anything that could possibly benefit the project, but it didn’t help at all that your mind was still on the boy sitting in front of you. Like a mantra, the memories of him smiling with that flawless girl kept replaying in your head as many more times as you bit by bit became insane with wrenching love.
Again, you couldn’t help but steal another glance at him before quickly ducking back down so he wouldn’t be able to catch you staring. He looked so peaceful while retracing his steps in the books, laying on his hand as a stand for his cheek. You hated how he could act so fine while you were left with nothing but hate towards him. Could you even call it hate anyway? It wasn’t true at all.
Yeonjun’s soothing voice snapped you out from your daze of pity, but it did the least to heal you and your pathetic attitude.
“Hey, do you think we could rest a second? I might fall asleep here if we have to keep reading about this nonsense stuff.”
You didn’t look up from your book, allowing him easy access to rest on your shoulder as silently as he could. His heart leaped with joy in his chest, but there was no chance he’d ever say it out loud. He graciously laid his head down upon it, becoming enamoured with your scent as he reached out to touch your hand. This need of affection easily leveled the desire which screamed out he needed you, but he wasn’t sure if he’d ever get an opportunity to be yours again.
You, on the other hand, was dying to tell him you loved him- but it wasn’t right when he simply had the same love as you for another girl.
But at the same time, you wanted to be strong. You had to be strong in order to convince him you were doing fine without him even if the truth was far from that. You had to put on a mask to hide the pain you were going through just because of him and his stupid, contagious smile that makes you grin every time you see it. You had to be strong, otherwise you’d never fool him that you needed him more than anything or anybody you’ve ever wanted. You had to be strong... but why were all your actions simply betrayed you no matter what you did?
“Get off me.”
Your shoulders started to shake aimlessly, shuddering when you felt his head bury more into the crook of your skin. He must’ve not heard anything, and you clenched your jaw until it twitched with pain.
“I said, get off me!”
As hard as you could, you pushed him off you- enough that you were just inches apart from him. It didn’t compare to the distance between you that you came to note before.
The tears were hot against your cheeks and you collapsed into your shaking hands, unable to hold it in anymore. In all your life, you’ve never felt so humiliated before just because a boy lied to you willingly. You felt pathetic.
To say the least, Yeonjun was taken aback, his eyes wide with shock as he hopelessly reached out his hand to you. All the love you bore just for him crashed into waves upon your chest, and you slapped his fingers away harshly before he could even say something.
Miserably you hid your face from him, not allowing him to see such a mess that he caused by his own hands.
“Who even are you? Are you the Choi Yeonjun who broke up with me or are you someone else?! I don’t understand how you can act like this after everything that happened... tell me, are you just playing with me or something?”
“Y/N, that’s not what I meant to do...” he tried tiredly, scooting closer to no avail as you turned your back away from him.
You laughed at his words, still not being able to look at him straight in the eye.
“Not what you meant to do? You’re telling me that it’s not what you meant to do?! Then who- who was she? Because it seemed to me that you were happier with her than you could’ve ever been with me!”
The silence that broke you apart was too deafening as you caught another look at him.
“Y/N, that’s not true... just listen, please,” Yeonjun begged, gazing at you desperately with unreadable but melancholy expression that had you on edge. He knew that you wouldn’t stay if he physically bound you in his embrace, but he had no clue what to do or what to say. He just wanted- no, needed you to really live.
Your heart broke all the more at the words he tried to pick up in order to explain- which you were sure he could hear even if he seemed very far. Easily you trashed his attempt away, getting up from your spot since you didn’t want to hear anything- anymore lies that would hurt the person you tried so hard to protect and shield away from the inevitable demise of love... that was you.
Yeonjun hurriedly got up along with you, leaving the pile of your books abandoned on the floor as he rushed out to match your pace. He ran with all his might to catch up with you but every time he reached your side- you would push him away like earlier and he didn’t have time to find his breath.
“Yeonjun, leave her alone. Haven’t you done enough, already?”
Seconds later upon hearing another voice, you rushed to someone else’s side, hoping that he would be able to protect you from the danger. It was pitiful with you standing right behind him as if that would help, but it did more than what you could ever be grateful for.
Yeonjun tensed up at his spot, stunned to see Soobin when he could’ve sworn nobody else was at Moonlight. In his mind, he could see the two of you right there apart from everything else- the two friends that looked so good together... it had to be much better than him after what he’d done. He came to a thought, letting his guard down while words of Soobin asking too many questions towards you occupied his head.
“I knew it. I knew you two were dating. I-I should’ve known,” he mumbled under his breath, his morals paralyzing him in place as he dropped his gaze towards at the ground instead.
Somehow Soobin heard this muttering and smugly smirked at this silly situation, taking a fresh opportunity that could probably boost destiny’s way before hiding it with a deep frown. He pulled you flush against his chest, holding you when you surprisingly really needed it from someone else.
“You finally figured this out? Leave us alone; you lost your chance the minute you broke up with her, pal.”
As Soobin dragged you along, you took one last look towards Yeonjun and gasped when you saw along with yours- two longing eyes flowing with tears that were nothing short of love. You wanted to reach out to help him not to cry like that even if he hurt you, but it would never work out and he’d leave you just like he’d done before. This only showed that you weren’t meant to be, never in a million years.
And with that you left with the help of Soobin, leaving Yeonjun alone at Moonlight. Time passed to the point where he gazed upon the stars- wishing that you would come back because he wanted to say he still loved you- by himself.
«──── « ⋅ʚ♡ɞ⋅ » ────»
It was Thursday, the final day where the two of you would ultimately finish this project. The death of having an obligation which ripped your heart out, for better or for worse. The demise of whatever love you shared. The end of seeing him because you really wanted- no, you needed to. Everything was over in a blink of an eye and you were left feeling bittersweet about the situation... more bitter compared to sweet because you wanted more time with him. You knew deep down inside it wasn’t too much to ask, but... ending this would be for the better. It must be.
You were on your usual pathway home from the library after trying to bribe the librarian to excuse you from losing your books (when you actually accidentally left it there with him) while along the way thinking about what to do to make a grand finish for the project. Since the two of you worked on it a lot for a few hours before you exploded on him- something you weren’t sorry for in the least bit because it got your feelings out- it was safe to say that he wouldn’t bother you about it anymore. He finished his side, you were assuming, so he didn’t have to see you for the time being unless he ever decided to talk it out with you. Other than the fact that you totally hurt him back there, it honestly served you a great victory on a silver platter as you waited for the dragged out day to be over.
It was petty, of course it was! But after what he did back there at the Boulangerie while not to mention, make eye contact with you- sweet revenge had to be one of the best tastes a connoisseur could ever call upon.
And the project? Oh yeah, that’s right. It was a good thing that it was the final day so you wouldn’t have to act civil with him, for better or for worse.
After a few more blocks finally, you made it home, causing you to sigh out in relief. Hurriedly you grabbed your keys from your purse, fumbling with several of them to find the one that fit perfectly. The familiar touch never came though, and you groaned loudly, cursing yourself in your head for forgetting it in the library. It was when you set it down next to the book you were reading before you confronted the librarian- poor old woman- and somehow, you forgot to pick it up the second you got up.
Great, now this.
You opted to stare at the horizon in front of you, letting the breeze freely cool down your body. The sight was nothing less than pretty. It was a windy, golden sunny day outside but you didn’t want anything to do with it. All day you were planning to mope around the house and watch your favorite shows, procrastinating ‘til the last minute until the due date of every assignment arrived. They hit differently whenever you grabbed a bag of chips downstairs to finish them along with the homework, and you giggled at every moment that flashed in your head.
There was nothing else better to do but call Soobin, right? Although you didn’t want to bother him because these months have definitely been annoying for him whether he said it or not.
Defeated, you then stared down into the white porch as if it was at fault, feeling fear rise up your throat. What were you going to do? There was no one else you had given the key to, except...
“Y/N? Can we talk?”
Oh, no. Oh, no... Oh no no no!
When you heard that voice you were instantly glued to that spot, feet affixed on the porch as your heart beat too fast for its own good. Your mind must’ve been hallucinating and playing tricks on you; clearly you weren’t ready to see him yet!
Swiftly you moved your head to the side, eyes widening with appall to see that he was actually right there. Expression nothing less than sorrow, hair messed up and fluffy right in front of his eyes, cherry blossom lips curved into a trembling frown: it was Yeonjun, alright, but yet it was someone you couldn’t recognize due to the complete change of attitude in him. He was tightly holding onto your books but seemingly refusing to hand them over as if that would do anything better and increase the need for conversation. Unlike his stiff posture, his eyes held firm intent though, and you quivered at the determination sewn in them.
“Do you need anything?”
Instead of acting childish like you played out in your head, you simply responded it a curt voice because it was better than saying nothing and benefiting the sworn silence. More than anything you wanted to get out of there and leave the awkward tension, but there was nothing else you could possibly do without embarrassing yourself due to the fact you lost your keys.
“I... I...” This time, he avoided your eyes, words caught in his throat as he couldn’t find the exact thing to say. It wouldn’t make things any better, you realized. It just wasn’t meant to be.
You pursed your lips, locking them into a line. Whatever he had to say- it didn’t matter. Plus, there was another thing. As your eyes were already tearing up, it would be hard to stay for long to listen to his words. There was no telling what you’d say if tears automatically streamed down your cheeks.
“If you don’t have anything to say, then I’ll l-leave. We can just work on the project separa-”
Clack!
Clack!
Clack!
Before you could even stay true to your words, Yeonjun took slow steps towards you that had you walking backwards... without you looking.
Soon enough your back hit the door, and you gasped at the close proximity between the two of you now as he leaned in. His hands reached out to cage you in between his arms, tilting his head to the side to study your reaction. The soft blue hair brushed against the top of your head- showing how dangerously close he was. His breath fanned across your lips and his heavenly cologne infiltrated your sense of smell. If he decided to torture you even more, then you’d be able to touch noses from how near he was.
Look, you weren’t sure how to describe it at that moment other than- he was pinning you to the damn wall?! Suddenly you felt all the blood rush in your face, and it was then that you couldn’t make eye contact with him anymore- especially because he’d see how embarrassed you were! He didn’t have to be that close!
“yes, I need something. Or more specifically, you.”
His voice was much more huskier than you remembered it to be, and his eyes fell upon yours, begging for you to look back if not for your anxiety that he was this close. You immediately shut your eyes, heart beating erratically in your chest even if you tried to stop it by focusing on something else. But Yeonjun... how could you not think of anything else but him?! He was nothing short of breathtaking but seeing him this close and personal... it didn’t do good things for your heart!
“M-me?”
It was obvious that the boy was amused even if he felt guilty about the problem, making a quick exhale through his nose to show entertainment. His chuckle that came heartily through his chest caused your ears to heat up with shame since it showed how weak you were- just for him.
“Yes you, you silly baby,” he cooed endearingly, “who else could it be?”
“You’re one to be calling me silly! Don’t pretend like you were the one the other day who asked if frogs have blood!”
In a split second, his face morphed into something nothing less than serious and his left arm dropped to his side. You couldn’t help but wonder at the duality he managed to have when the gravity of the situation hit him.
“I miss things like this. I miss it so much. I miss joking around with you and chasing you around the house just to tickle you. I miss how attached you were because little did you know, I was just as much attached to you as you were to me.
“I miss the sweet look you give me every time I ask you out on a date. I miss having you right beside me whenever we studied together because you were the only person who cheered me on even when it was two in the morning. I miss giving you random kisses out of nowhere because I can’t get enough of you and that adorable, surprised face whenever I did so.
“I miss slipping my hand into yours whenever we would walk home together, letting you cling onto me so that I could protect you from all dangers. I miss giving you victory every argument we had because I hate making you cry. I miss cuddling you on the couch as we watched our favorite shows together whenever we were too lazy to get up and how I couldn’t stop smiling every time you laughed.
“I miss kissing the top of your forehead and you never knew because you were asleep. I miss waking up with you by my side and seeing something so gorgeous it would stay in my head all day even if I studied the same materials over and over again. I miss looking up at the stars with you at Moonlight and resting my head on your lap as you ran your fingers through my hair and how we’d do it every single week.
“Can’t you see? I miss you and every little thing you do, simple or exquisite. I know why you acted that way yesterday and I hate myself so much for not realizing it until later. I owed her something after she told me a way to somehow get closer to you when I’d done such a horrible thing. You can love Soobin- I don’t care about myself anymore as long I get to see my favorite girl smile due to the fact that she’s in love.
“Y/N, you mean much more to me than anything and it’s okay if you’re happy not loving me again because at least I got to experience the full joy and sadness that visited along with the love of my life. This may be the last time you may ever want to see me, but please... let me tell you how much I need you one last time.”
His eyes were shining, full of sincerity that you were able to feel even if you weren’t him. Tears resembling glistening pearls streamed down with his cheeks as he finally told you the truth he’d been dying to tell you, allowing you to see his vulnerabilities inside out. And yet, he was genuinely smiling as he confessed this, happy enough he got the chance to tell you loved you one last time.
Gradually he extended his arms out wide, allowing you to have your personal space while he took a few steps backwards and towards the grass where you followed him. By the end of it all, you weren’t able to help the tears welling up in your eyes at how touched you were from the inside. It was him, the boy who promised to love you until the end of time.
“Y-Yeonjun, I...” he cut in through your words, closing his eyes in fear of the pain that would soon become of his body if you did in the end, choose to grant his wish. It simply wasn’t enough to level the agony of his heart, but he was willing to take all the pain instead of burdening it on you.
“I’ll let you push me. I’ll let you hit me. I’ll let you get back what you deserve. You can slap me, as long as you let everything out. I don’t want you to hurt anymore because of me, so just do it!”
...
...
...
Silence.
Oh, the euphoric relief coursing in your veins that really pushed you over the edge.
Immediately you threw yourself at him, wrapping your arms around him as tightly as you could because you never wanted to let go. You melted into his embrace upon contact, burying your head against his chest that was warm and overflowing with passion. Yeonjun hesitantly embraced you back, unsure of what happened just now.
You couldn’t help but giggle at his dumbfound expression.
“You silly baby,” you teased, repeating his playful words from earlier, “I’m not dating Soobin and I never have. Why would I date him when I’ll never love this way again?”
You booped his nose as quickly as you could, smiling when he finally reciprocated the same grin back.
“Choi Yeonjun, you were such a fool to lose me, but I’m even more of a fool to love you again. I’ve never stopped loving you, although I’m sure you already knew that, hEY-”
With happiness overflowing the boy, he picked you up and you were swept off your feet in a second. Wide smiles reflected back and forth from his face to yours as he spun you around him a few inches from the ground, pure bliss surrounding the two of you since you both were complete again. He let you laugh in his hands, tickling your sides unintentionally while you snickered at him to let you down. He only chuckled at this, stopping in place but still refusing to listen to your request.
“I love your very big brain that’s so smart it makes me frustrated with how dumb I am sometimes,” he brought you down a little bit to kiss your forehead. He then trailed down to your nose.
“I love how you ask me for opinions of perfume when you know deep down instead I adore your natural scent instead,” he kissed your nose and you laughed at the feeling it naturally gave you.
“But most importantly,” Yeonjun placed you down on the golden grasslands again and ceased right in front of your lips, letting his breath fall upon them, “I love you.”
Then he connected your lips together, bringing you closer towards him than he had ever done before.
At last, everything was finally perfect.

Casually scrolling through #roommate!dream weekend you know as one does at 1am and all I can think is
Dream heading to the library one afternoon to look for a book he needed for an assignment only sees you studying with a classmate he’s never seen or met. Obviously, he’s jealous offended upset confused because you have a life outside of just you two and your friend group??? No, that can’t happen.
Again obviously he pretends to not see you, making a beeline straight to the section where the book he needs checks out and heads home to do what he does best, overthink. How long has r known them, they seem pretty acquainted, have you talked about them before, has he ever seen you two and just not noticed? These were thoughts running through Dream's head, yet he knew he has no right to be upset. The world doesn’t revolve around you two, no matter how much he wished it did.
So once you get home you know this man is instantly asking about your day and what did you do to his relief you answer “good! I was helping a transfer student around. He’s nice, we ended up at the library earlier and chatted for a bit while I helped him catch up with notes, in the class we have together.” Slightly sighing in relief “Oh really? That’s nice of you.” R just nods “I could have sworn I saw you in the library though, you rushed out of there before I could say anything to you.” He chuckles “oh you were there? Yeah, I was hurrying to check out a book before anyone else got it.”
He’d cut the conversation short apologizing that he really need to go “finish” the work he never even started. But he was just embarrassed he let his emotions get the best of him.
i literally just cackled evilly because i love this so much HAHAHA omg
lord save the transfer student if dream ever sees them on their own ajbdsjdb mans would glare at them uncomfortably until they notice and advert their eyes immediately because why tf is this guy staring at me like he wants me dead?? 😳😳 (this definitely stems from mr. wastaken’s superiority/god complex 😩)
thank u for sending this in!! <33

Imagine being Sirius’s daughter (Part 5)
Part one
Part two
Part three
Part four
Tumblr media
-That afternoon after divination you walked down to the hut to show Hagrid the Martisor George got you from Romania. Not even bothering to knock you swung the door open to see Hagrid looked at a medium sized, dark forest green egg, covered in scales.
“What the bloody hell is that?” You replied, quickly shutting the door as Hagrid jumped slight, startled by your sudden presence. His eyes wide as you advanced towards the table, and gently ran a finger down the scaled egg.
“I won it, fellow said it was a genuine dragon egg.”
“I would hope so, this thing is huge.” You replied, “Hagrid, what are we gonna do with a dragon?”
“Well I’m gonna raise him as my...”
“Hagrid, not only is the ministry never going to allow you to have a dragon, but neither is Dumbledore, I mean this has to be some sort of violation of the safety...”
“So is Aragon.” He cut you off so matter of factly, as you looked over at him, “He is different, he doesn’t spit fire, or fly. Plus he is trained to stay in the Forest, where not only can he hunt for his own food, but you go out and feed him as well. A dragon would never be able to survive in the forest.”
“I thought out of everyone, you would be excited.” He sighed, almost defeated, cause he knew what you were saying was true, however the tone of his voice made your heart break.
“I am excited, I just don’t want to see you get fired and banished.” You smiled, “What if you let Charlie take care of it in Romania? I am sure he would let you come and visit all the time.”
-The rest of the visit you two just sipped tea and discussed the dragon egg that was sitting between you both on the table, and when you left you were under the impression that Hagrid was going to reach out to Charlie, and have him look after his little dragon. However when you left the hut, Hagrid turned around and spoke, “Don’t worry little fellow, I’m not gonna ship you off to Romania.”
-He hid the egg during the day, fearful that you would visit.
-The boys were always asking you if they could listen to your Walkman, which you happily shared with them. Lee really liked listening to Abba, and Elton John, George preferred AC/DC, The Eagles, and Journey, and Fred always wanted to listen to your David Bowie, Motley Crue, and Billy Joel. However you thought it was funny that they all loved Queen, and many nights you would find them putting a volume charm on your headphones so that everyone in the common room could listen to Freddie Mercury singing.
-On these nights, once everyone had left the common room in search of escape from the noise you and the boys would end up dancing around the common room to the melody, and screaming the lyrics as you did. This resulted in Percy coming to have multiple talks with you four about the noise at 1am. You would always look at him with a look of apology, but as soon as he would leave, you were all roaring with laughter.
-Sometimes late at night you would put the headphones on and listen to the Pink Floyd album, it was one of the few pieces of music you could remember your father playing, it made you feel like you were a toddler again running around your small flat, everyone who you loved back in your life. A single tear running down your face as you remembered.
-The twins were always fighting over who was going to be your partner for group assignments, which always made you chuckle as you looked at Lee, “They act like I won’t help them both.”
-Even though they would fight over it, Fred was your partner a majority of the time. Each time George and Lee hoped he would get the guts to try to ask you out on a date again, but he never did.
-When you went to Hagrid’s one afternoon you looked at him concerned, “What’s wrong Hagrid?”
“Nothing you can help with.” He replied as you sat down, arms crossed, “Try me?”
“It’s just.... something is killing unicorns in the forest. All the creatures are on edge, I mean everyone knows that the only reason anyone would want to murder such a majestic creature is...”
“For the blood.” You finished his sentence, “And the centaurs haven’t seen anything? They normally are good at knowing even the littlest things that happen in those woods.”
“I asked Firenze, but they haven’t heard anything other then that the Unicorns are getting hunted.”
- Later that night you asked, “Listen I know I’m not allowed to ask what he is guarding, but how’s Fluffy?”
“He’s good, real good. Trust me sweetheart, he’ll be home quicker then you know.”
-That night as you climbed the stairs to the Gryffindor common room you heard Fred and George’s singing voices, they were belting out the lyrics to The Time of Our Lives by Bill Medley, your smile growing to see the two boys standing behind you. You couldn’t help by join in with a laugh as the Fat Lady muttered, “You were all flat, and horribly off key.”
“Oh we couldn’t be that bad, however we will never be great artists like you.” George smiled as the Fat Lady blushed, and asked nicely for the password.
“Caput Draconis.” You replied as she swung open, causing you all to hurry to the corner table and start working on future pranks.
-While you were working you noticed Ron and Harry sitting on the love seat, struggling with their homework, Hermonie no where in sight. You quietly excused yourself from the Twins and knelt down in front of them, “Need a hand?”
-You sat in front of the two and helped them finish everything, and once they were done, you smeriked and asked, “So now that that’s done, want to sneak down to the kitchen and see if there’s anything left out.”
-They both said no, but Fred and George overheard your offer, and were quick to jump on it. Once the two first years disappeared to their dormitories, you three pulled out the map, and opened it to see the kitchen was empty. You three quickly headed to one of the multiple secret passages and snuck down there to find that there was a small cake left on the counter in the empty kitchen. You three all hopped up on the counter after retrieving forks and started to eat it. Once it was all gone, you took a bottle of pumpkin juice from the fridge and made your way back to the common room, each of you taking sips of the bottle you would later hid in your enchanted bag.
-The next morning during Dumbledore’s announcements he exclaimed, “All students are not premitted into the kitchens after 10pm, any student caught in there, or with items from the kitchen will be placed into detention.”
-The next day you looked at Harry, Hermonie, and Ron, “You all look like bloody shit.”
“Well since we were in detention, we didn’t get much sleep.”
“Why were you in detention? Did Flint catch you cheating?” George teased as Ron yawned, “No, Malfoy snitched to McGonagall that we were at Hagrid’s with Norbert, and then Flitch made us go into the forbidden forest to look for a unicorn.”
“Norbert?” You asked
“Yeah,”Ron yawned again, “His dragon.”
-Your eyes grew, and your head turned towards Hagrid, who was looking right at you, already knowing that the golden trio was probably going to tell you about their detention, and Norbert.
-After lunch, the boys all had quidditch practice, Lee of course was going to go watch, and practice his announcing, and you were planning on going to watch. Before the boys entered the pitch though you looked at Fred and George, “I’ll be in in a few, I just have to go see Hagrid first.”
“We get it, you would much rather watch us kick Slytherin’s ass then practice.” George replied as you chuckled, “Georgie, your first match is against Hufflepuff, not Slytherin.”
-When you got to the hut you didn’t bother knocking, and just walked in to see a mess of wavy reddish orange hair sitting in Hagrid’s armchair, as Hagrid sat on the couch, cradling the small dragon, the conversation between the two haulting as Hagrid spoke up, “Figured you would be here at some point to see the little fellow.”
“No, I came here to see Charlie, since I haven’t seen him since summer break.”you joked, as the second eldest Weasley turned around, a smile on his face as he replied, “Still keeping my younger brothers in check I hope?”
“Course I am, so well in fact I have been neglecting keeping our favorite staff member in check.” you joked as you walked over to Hagrid, and extended a hand towards the scaley beast hiding in his beard, his head slightly poking out before he nuzzled his head against your palm.
“I swear you have a knack for this Black.” Charlie praised as you whispered, “i mean I learned from the best.”
-Charlie was never going to tell you this, but you were his favorite of all of his brother’s friends, and found himself building a bond with you at the burrow before he moved whenever you were able to get away from the others. Seeing you with Norbert just reassured him that his brothers were in good hands, and that he didn’t have to worry as much about them.
-When he left with Norbert you looked at Hagrid, “No more surprise creatures please.”
“Course not.”
“So, did you find anything in the forest last night?” You asked, the screams of the gryffindor quidditch team could faintly be heard from the pitch as Hagrid replied, “Harry and Draco saw something, Harry said it was a tall, pale, hooded figure, almost like a man. He was gone though by the time we got to him.”
“Great, at least we have a lead.” You answered, before you heard a louder shout, this one was undeniably George, which caused you to slightly panic, Hagrid could see it in your face, “Go, I can catch ya up later over tea.”
-When you got to the pitch Lee looked at you, “You just missed it, George missed a Bludger, hit him in the arm. Oliver looked at it, nothings broke, but he is gonna have a nasty bruise in the morning.”
-Later that night while you all sat at the table working on your homework, you suggested, “What if we made a bruise remover, like a cream or something you can rub on a bruise or black eye that will make it disappear?”
“How would that help with pranks?” George asked, his sleeve rolled up revealing the enormous bruise that was consuming his arm.
“Well if we ever make a product that causes bruises, the user can remove it from the victim after having a good laugh. We could sell them as a set.” You replied as Fred looked at you, “You’re a genius Black.”
Tumblr media
-You spent one afternoon a week helping Hagrid make the photo album
-The first quidditch match of the spring season you found yourself surrounded by first years, since Hermonie had asked you to sit with her and Ron, who was quick to make fun of you for wearing his brother’s jersey, “Seriously, you two might as well be married.”
“We are, Freddie didn’t tell you we got eloped this past summer.” You teased back, as Ron looked at you, a look of disgust on his face as Hermonie piped up, “Don’t worry Ronald, it is illegal to elope before 18, without parent’s consent.”
-At the end of the game you ran straight past Harry, who had gotten the snitch before the Hufflepuff golden boy, Cedric Diggory, and jumped straight into Fred’s arms, giving him a congratulatory hug, as he spun you around.
-When he sat you down, you smiled at him, a slight blush on his face as you turned to Harry and George and quickly hugged them as well, however the hug was nothing compared to Fred’s.
-After that match Ron and Harry made a bet, Ron suspected You were going to be dating one of the twins by the end of the year, Harry thought you were going to be dating Fred before you graduated from Hogwarts. Whoever lost owed the winner a cauldron cake, and a butter beer.
-That night you were sitting with Fred and Lee on the couch, when George walked into the empty common room, “[Y/N], get the Walkman, we must celebrate our victory!”
-That night you were listening to the normal selection, until the Queens tape ended, and George picked the next one, the first song that played was I Can’t Tell You Why, as both George and Lee groaned, about to press the fast forward button in hopes that they stopped it before the next track, but George stopped Lee when he saw Fred grab your hand, and pull you towards him. A smile on your face as Fred dramatically mouthed the words, all while spinning you around in a dance, your giggles masked by the melody as he dipped you, pulling you up quickly into a spin. George and Lee just watching the pair of you, smiling ear to ear as the song ended.
-As soon as the song ended though Percy came to the base of the stairs, “Seriously, none of your other teammates are causing a ruckus like this, so I have no idea why you four feel the need to disrupt the entire tower at midnight.”
“Sorry Percy, we’ll head straight to bed now.” You answered, separating from Fred before grabbing the Walkman, and retreating to the girl’s dormitory, as Percy just glared at the other three, “Honestly I don’t know what she sees in you three holigens?”
“Trust us Percy, we don’t either.” George replied, before the older Weasley escorted the three to bed.
-The next morning you were waiting for the boys outside their dormitory, and smiled, “We are going to prank Percy.”
-You slipped a potion into his pumpkin juice, which caused him to lose his voice for 48 hours. Madam Pomfey had nothing to cure it, so for two days you didn’t have to listen to Percy. However Molly sent a howler to the Twins blaming them for the entire thing. You were quick to write an apology to her, telling her that the twins had nothing to do with it, and that you would never do it again. She replied with a sweetly worded letter, making the Twins slightly jealous, because she didn’t send you a howler.
“What can I say boys, I’m mom’s favorite.” You smiled as you elbowed Lee, the two gingers across from you scowling as you laughed.
- You were the top of the class, as usual. The boys joked that you were going to be the next head girl, and excitingly looked at each other as the realization set in, “Why are you looking at me like that?”
“If you were head girl, do you know how much stuff we could get away with?” George asked as you smiled, and shock your head.
“Honestly you two are probably going to be the reason I am not head girl.” You smiled.
-That night you all went to bed early, and when you woke up was when you learned Harry was in the hospital wing, everyday he was in there you went to visit him, occasionally someone else would join you, mostly Ron, but you never really left. Dumbledore allowed it, knowing how much Harry meant to you, even if Harry didn’t know.
-When he woke up, you leapt from the stool and hugged him, “Oh thank Merlin, I was starting to think you would never wake up.”
-Harry told you everything that happened in the chamber where the mirror of Erised was. Your worry building as he told you about Voldemort’s face in the back of Qurill’s head. When Dumbledore showed up and clearified several things for Harry, he placed a hand on your shoulder and stated, “Let the boy rest. We have many things to discuss.”
-On the way to the Chamber, you were freaking out at Dumbledore for ever letting Harry do something so dangerous, as though he knew Harry’s plans. The whole time he let you just aggressively whisper at him.
-He took you to the empty chamber, the mirror still in the middle of the floor as he looked at you, finally speaking, “I am sorry I didn’t tell you what happened.”
“You knew?”
“I had my suspicions on what happened when Harry wasn’t in attendance, Snape found him down here alone, I suspect Quirell parished. I have destroyed the stone, which we found in Harry’s pocket.”
“Did you know about Quirell?”
“No, but I suspect that the unicorn murders will also stop now, since I am sure Voldemort was the one using the blood.”
“Why though did the mirror give Harry the stone?” You asked as you slowly approached the glass, as Dumbledore looked past you, seeing his sister in the reflection instead of you.
“The mirror of Erised is a enchanted mirror, it is used to show us what it is we truly desire. When I had it placed here however I enchanted it to protect the stone, and give it to someone who was searching for the stone, but had no intention on using it.”
“It shows us our desires.” You questioned, looking into it, before you saw them slowly approaching, and finally after a few moments they stopped in front of you. On the far left was a younger Remus, his scars disappeared, as he smiled at you, his eyes sparkling as Peter stood beside him, he didn’t look as timid as normal, nor did he seem as though he was on edge, on the right stood Lily, her hair pulled up in a high ponytail, and wearing a summer dress, her right hand resting on Harry’s shoulder, his scar disappeared as he smiled at you. On his left stood James, his eyes gleaming behind his glasses as he smiled at you with such pride, before clapping his hand onto the shoulder of your father, who was right in front of you. He was cleaned up, the curls of his black hair wild as his eyes teared up, his hand slowly rising to the glass to match yours as you gently placed it onto the glass. His smile pained though when he realized he couldn’t touch you, as you drew in a quick breath. Your eyes watering as each of them, except Harry all stacked their hands on top of Sirius’s, each smiling at you as you whispered, “What happened to Voldemort?”
“I don’t know my dear.” Dumbledore whispered as you dropped your hand slowly, “But you have my word, I will never let him harm Harry. I will do everything in my power to protect him.”
“I know.” You whispered, before blinking back tears, and turning away from your family.
-When you returned from the Mirror, and went to the great hall for the final feast Fred saw the look on your face, and was quick to tap Lee on the shoulder to tell him to move, however you were already sliding next to George. When you slumped next to George, he wrapped an arm around your shoulder and whispered, “Why so down Black?”
“We lost the house cup, to Slytherien of all houses.” You lied, as Ron whispered, “Don’t worry there is always next year.”

-When you got on the train platform, you noticed Hagrid handing the rectangular package to Harry, a smile on your face as you imagined the excitement the photo album would bring him.
-You were sitting in a booth with your friend group, you were laughing at one of George’s jokes when you heard the knock on the glass. You turned to see Harry standing there looking shy, clutching the album, as he gestured for you to join him in the hall. When you got out there he sheepishly asked, “Can we go sit in an empty booth?”
“Course.” You replied as you both started towards the front which was normally empty, and slided into the first empty booth. As soon as the door shut Harry opened the album to a photo of James and You, he was spinning you around in the background, while Lily laid on the floor with a baby Harry, who was playing with blocks, your father behind the lens, taking the picture as he watched you laugh in James’s arms. Your smile wide as you remembered you had the exact copy of this picture at your cottage.
“This little girl looks just like you.” He whispered, as you met his eyes.
“That’s cause it is me.”
“You knew my parents?” He asked as you smiled, “Yeah, except I knew them as Uncle James, and Aunt Lily. My dad was best friends with your dad.”
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
“Honestly, I figured you would rather want to get to know me for me, and not as the girl who could connect you to your past.”
“Do you think they would let me live with you?” He asked, your heart breaking at the thought of him going back to those abusive muggles, a thought you had been repressing for the last month, “I’m afraid not Harry, as much as I would love to, your parents wanted you to live with them. But don’t worry, I will write you every day, and before you know it, we will be back on this train, going back home.”
-When you got off the train you immediately saw Remus, and ran to him, your head burying into his chest as he hugged you back, so happy to have his little girl back. He lifted his head though just in time to see Harry following the Weasleys towards Molly and Arthur, wanting nothing more than to go introduce himself to Harry, but he knew he couldn’t.
-On the ride home you looked at Remus, “He asked me if he could come live with us.”
“I figured that would happen once he saw the pictures.” Remus calmly responded, “What did you say?”
“That Uncle Prongs, and Aunt Lily wanted him to live with the Dursley’s.”
-the rest of the car ride was silent, as you both wished that you could take him home with you.
-You really did write Harry Every day
-You were at the cottage for about a week before you went to the Burrow. Remus was happy that he got to spend some time with you, and loved listening to your stories about your second term.
-One day while you were helping weed the garden outside of the cottage, you looked towards your Uncle, “Uncle Mooney?”
“Yes my love?” His head lifted, his hands still in the soft dirt as he dug out the tiny roots of the unwanted greenery.
“Why do you think my father stopped writing. I mean he used to be so consistent with it, and now I...”
“Perhaps they have taken his privileges away.” Remus replied, his heart breaking as he thought of the new pile of letters hidden under his bed, some addressed to you, but most of them were directed toward Mr. Remus Lupin, and were strong worded demands for answers to his questions. The biggest one being why he was withholding his letters to his daughter.
“You don’t think he...” you paused, not wanted to say the words you were thinking. The idea of your father’s death haunting your thoughts as Remus read your mind and quickly reassured, “No my love, I doubt he is dead.”
-Before you went you expressed to him that Molly had invited him to go school shopping again with them, however you then expressed, “I am sure Harry will be coming as well, and would love to meet you.”
“Unfortunately I can’t this year, the full moon and all.” He lied, and he knew you would know it was a lie as well, but he couldn’t bring himself to say that he wasn’t meant to be in Harry’s life.
-When you got to the Burrow, Fred was the first out of the door, his body colliding with yours as you fell into the grass, George toppling onto you both seconds later.
-Molly stood in the window and watched the three of you in the grass, before Arthur joined her side, “She really does bring out the best in them.”
“And to think, you almost didn’t let her be their friend.” Molly replied as Arthur smiled, “Well I see now it wasn’t fair of me to judge her.”
- When they rolled off of you, you all just laid in the grass, and watched the clouds, George to your left, Fred to your right. Your fingers lifting towards the shapes the clouds made as you imagined what they could be, as the boys added their two cents.
-When it started to get dark you sat up and looked at both the boys, their brown eyes looking at you as you spoke, “So what did Mum make for dinner?”
-When you walked in Percy rolled his eyes, mostly because that last term the three of you had gotten on his nerves so much, now he was scared you would have the same late night dance parties at the house, however as soon as you saw him you smiled, “Well hello there Perfect Percy.”
-At dinner you leaned over to him and whispered, “I left it at home.” Which brought a smile to his face.
-About half way through the week, the three of you actually went to Lee’s house, which Lee was over the moon when you three agreed to go to his house for a extended weekend. As soon as you arrived Lee showed you all over the city, and you couldn’t help but chuckle when you saw a local theater, which was playing A Leauge of Their Own. You joked to the three boys that you should all go, and were shocked when they all agreed.
-You laughed the whole movie, seated between the two twins, you couldn’t help but laugh as you joking threw popcorn in your mouth.
-The twins had never been to a movie theater before, and were quickly obsessed, so every night of your vacation you and Lee found different theaters in the area and took them to at least one showing a day.
-At the end of the mini vacation you went back to the cottage, and told Remus you wanted to drive into town to get something. While out you bought a small television, a VCR and several VHS tapes, which caused Remus to chuckle, knowing that next you were going to ask if he could drive you to the burrow, since Apperating with all that would be nearly impossible.
-When you got there Molly came out the front door, a surprised look on her face as you exited the car, “[Y/N], Lupin, what are you doing here?”
“I have a present for you all.” You smiled, “since you guys have always been so kind to us. Plus I think Arthur is really going to like this.”
-Remus helped you set up the TV, as Molly watched, a smile on her face as you all silently set it up, not wanting the twins to realize you were there, since all the Weasley children were in the garden playing Quidditch. When you had finished setting everything up you explained to Molly everything you knew about the TV, as Remus sat at the kitchen Table and sipped on the cup of tea she had offered you.
- When Arthur came home, you smiled ear to ear, “Arthur, I want to show you something!”
“[Y/N] my dear, we weren’t expecting you until the 14th.” Arthur stated with a smile as you took his hand and sat him in the armchair in front of the TV.
“I know, but I was too excited to show you this, the muggles call it a television. They use it to watch broadcasts, and for entertainment purposes. This is the remote, and you can control the whole box using it.” You instructed, showing him how to use it, his eyes growing in wonder, since he had only heard about them at work, but had never had the pleasure of operating one. And now he had his very own.
“She really is a good kid Remus, Sirius would be proud of how you have raised her.” Molly whispered, as Remus turned to watch the way your eyes glimmered with joy as you explained everything to Arthur, a smile never leaving your face. Even though you were not blood with Lily, it reminded him of how Lily would explain stuff to them when they were in Hogwarts.
“I hope everyday they would all be proud of how she turned out.” He replied, “I just wish I had the same opportunity with Harry that I did with her.”
“From what Ron says, he behaves just like her, both of them would do anything for their friends, are generous, compassionate, loyal, smart, and all around wonderful. He might not have been raised with her, or among the Potter’s chosen family, but he is just like James and Lily.”
-While you were showing Arthur the tv Ginny had come in through the back door, she was going to get an ice pack for Ron, who was taunting her while they were flying, so she took Fred’s bats and hit the bulgur right at him, and hit him square in the face. Percy, who was reffing the game, immediately ended the match, and declared Ron and George the winners. However when Ginny saw you, she couldn’t help but excitingly shout, “[Y/N]!”
-While she raced to give you a hug George, and Fred looked at one another, a bloody nosed Ron standing between them, “Did Ginny just shout [Y/N]?” George asked, before looking to their hurt brother, and then back at each other, before racing into the house, leaving Ron with Percy, and no ice pack.
-They both wrapped you into large hugs, Fred squeezing you a bit tighter then George did, which Molly noticed, and with a chuckle she whispered, “So when do you think those two are finally going to get together?”
“Honestly I haven’t the slightest idea, I thought they would have already been dating by now.” Remus joked as Fred and George gushed about the movies you had picked up.
-Once the sun started to set, Remus started to rise slowly, about to tell you it was time to go, but Fred cut him off, “Mr. Lupin, do you think it would be okay if she stays, I mean the 14th is right around the corner, and she can wear my jumpers, since she fits.”
“And she can wear my pants.” George added, “and I am sure Percy has some woman’s panties she can burrow.”
-He left that night alone, chuckling lightly as he pulled away from the burrow, as he looked into the rear view mirror he saw three figures climb out of a window and onto the roof, a smile overtaking his face as he appreciated the fact that you had found yourself a friend group just like the one he had in school.
-Ginny loved to gush to you about her crush on Harry Potter, and how she was so excited to meet him. You would always listen, and whenever any of the brothers would try to talk ill of her and her schoolgirl crush, you would give them a glare, and threaten to prank them harder then any of them have ever been pranked if they didn’t shut up.
-After you gifted them the TV, Arthur started asking you about all different kinds of Muggle inventions. You didn’t know the answer to some of them, but you were always willing to research the answer for him.
-When Molly invited Remus to join them again for back to school shopping, he asked if Harry was also going to come. “I mean I know he invited both Hermonie’s family, and Harry to join.”
“Then I am afraid I can’t this year Molly, I do hope you understand.” He painfully replied, as she looked at him with sorrow in her eyes.

-When Fred, George, and Ron took the Ford Angelina to rescue Harry you chuckled, “You really don’t think your mum is gonna notice you are gone?”
“Nope, and if she does come into the room, you’ll cover for us right?” George asked as you shook your head, “Sure.”
-That morning when you got up Molly was looking at the clock, “Where did they go?” She asked, her tone severe as she crossed her arms and looked at the three hands pointed towards Away.
“They went to go get Harry.” You replied, “I told them they were idiots if they thought you wouldn’t notice.”
“That they are.” Molly replied, however before you could reply you both heard the car park, causing Molly to look at you with a devilish smile, before hiding where the four wouldn’t see her, a slight smile on your face while you walked into the kitchen and started making six cups of tea.
-When the boys entered Harry looked at you, “[Y/N], you’re here too?”
“Course she is, the boys would die without her.” Ron replied as you handed him and Harry their cups. Fred and George looking at you for any sign that their mum knew, however you gave none as you handed them their tea.
-When Harry was looking at the clock, you looked at Fred and George with a smile, “Thank you by the way for saving him.”
“No problem deary, anything to please our princess.” George joked as you made a face, “Never call me princess again.”
-Neither You or George saw the way Fred’s face looked when George called you princess, or the sparkle of envy behind his irises.
-When Molly came out from behind the wall, her hands on her hips as she stated, “Where have you been? Empty beds, no note, car gone. You could’ve died, you could’ve been seen!” You couldn’t help but smile between the twins as their faces paled, you were sure Ron’s was also paling as they stuttered for the proper words to tell Molly.
“I thought you said...” George whispered as you smiled, “You really thought I was gonna snitch on your mum?”
“But you had no problem snitching on us?” Fred replied, a bit louder then he expected.
“Oh don’t you even try to blame this on [Y/N], she didn’t have to tell me a word.” Molly retorted, before Ron added, “We had to do it Mum, they had bars on his windows, you should’ve seen it.”
“Just be glad I don’t put bars on your boy’s window.” She snapped before advancing towards Harry, “Harry, It is wonderful to see you again darling, now tell me, how have you been?”
“Honestly you really didn’t think your mum was going to get up at the crack of dawn to start the chores, and notice that the flying car was gone, or hear you guys park?” You replied as her and the two younger boys went off towards the bathroom to wash up before breakfast.
- That morning at breakfast you all sat around the long table, most of the clan still in their pajamas as Molly set down two large stacks of flapjacks. You were plopped between the two ginger twins, who both leaned forward as soon as their mother set down the plates. The only one missing from Breakfast was Ginny, so as the boys served themselves you muttered, “You guys aren’t even going to wait for your sister?”
“You snooze, you lose.” George rebuttaled as you rolled your eyes, however as soon as you heard the footsteps on the stairs you just assumed she smelled breakfast, “Mummy have you seen my jumper?”
“Yes dear it was on the cat.” Molly replied as Harry gave a cheery, “Hello.” However Ginny didn’t reply, instead she looked mortified, and raced away, as all the boys, except Harry slightly smiled.
“Have I done something wrong?” Harry asked, confusion written on his face as Ron replied, “That’s Ginny, she been talking about you all summer, but annoying honestly.”
“Don’t worry Harry, [Y/N] used to look at me the same way, and now look at us.” Fred replied as you raised an eyebrow, George adding, “More like the other way around.”
-Before you could reply though Arthur was walking through the front door, “Morning Weasleys.”
“Morning Dad.” Echoed through the kitchen, as your, “Morning Arthur.” mixed into the blend.
-Arthur told you this years later, but he always considered you to be his second daughter, and he apologized for ever doubting your intentions due to your last name.
-When Molly told Arthur about the boys driving the enchanted car, you couldn’t help but smile as he replied with genuine excitement and curiosity, “How was it?”
-You silently chuckled when Molly lightly slapped him, and he awkwardly scolded the three, however you all knew he had no desire to.
-When Arthur asked Harry about the rubber duck you smiled, Molly saw that you smiled, and knew it was because you were just glad they were so excepting of him. She didn’t know it was also because you saw a sparkle of Lily’s kindness show through his answer as he tried to explain the function of a rubber duck on the spot.
-When Errol crashed into the glass, you turned to look out the window, making sure he was okay, when George whispered, “He’s fine [Y/N], he always is.”
“Blimey, sometimes I think she loves that owl more then us.” Fred added as Errol got back up, and flew the stack of letters to the table, dropping them with a thud before flying up to purch on the stair railing.
“Scabbers is more of my favorite, you both know that.” You joked, as Percy scoffed, “Well maybe he should be your pet then.”
“Sure.” You smiled, thinking it was a serious offer, as Molly replied, “Now Percy, you know you can’t give him away, he is technically supposed to be Fred and George’s this year.”
“You can have him.” George responded
-When they were handing out the letters and saw Harry’s they handed it straight to him, however your school supplies letter was not in the mix.
“They must’ve sent it to the cabin.” You answered, before taking another bite of your flapjack, “I can always just ask my uncle...”
“Nonsense, we are all in the same classes, you can just burrow our list.” Fred answered, scared to death that you might be implying you want to go home.
“I mean, except for maybe potions.” You smiled, before looking over Fred’s shoulder to see that Dumbledore had scribbled next to potions that he wanted to make it more geared towards creating harmless pranks. George’s list had the same thing beside it, meaning that once again, you and the Twins were going to be learning with Albus instead of Snape.
“Why is it that you three never have to take potions with Snape?” Percy asked, “I mean he is an...”
“Ass.” Fred replied.
“Frederick Gideon Weasley, that is no way to talk about one of your teachers.” Molly scolded.
“Sorry mum.” He muttered, as you leaned over and whispered, “You’re not wrong.”
-You were standing in the boys room getting ready when Fred and George walked into the room, your hands searching for your shirt and bra as you stood there in your unbuttoned overalls. Both boys unphased as they flopped onto George’s bed, and looked at you furrowing your brow. “Did you throw it in the wash by mistake.” George asked as you sighed.
“Must have.”
“Here.” Fred replied, getting up quickly and tossing you a shirt from the closet they shared, your hand raising to catch the fabric before throwing it over your head, and tucked it into the overalls before buttoning them. Looking into the mirror you smiled at how well you looked in the oversized, stripped shirt. With a chuckle George joked, “Careful Freddie, she’s got that look like she is gonna steal your whole wardrobe now.”
-when you were dressed, you and the boys met everyone downstairs, as Ron gave you a odd look, “Hey, [Y/N], isn’t that Fred’s shirt?”
“Yeah, and if you mention it again, we’ll slip a spider in your room while you sleep.” Fred rebuttaled as Harry looked towards the slightly frightened boy, the twins giggling as you rolled your eyes.
-When Harry mispronounced Diagon Alley, your anxiety heightened, you knew how sensitive the floo powder system was, I mean you had been using it since you were two, as though they could sense it, George and Fred both whispered in your ear, “I’m sure he’ll be fine, he didn’t pronounce it too poorly.”
-As soon as you arrived, you went off looking for him, the Twins not far behind as you ventured to each shop and asked if they had seen a chocolate haired boy, with thin, round wire glasses, and green eyes emerge from their fire places.
-After an hour you were ready to tell the duo you wanted to go into Knockturn Alley, however you were interrupted by Hagrid’s booming voice, “Hello boys, [Y/N].”
When you turned you saw a sooty Harry, his green eyes looking at you as you smiled in relief, “Hello Hagrid, where on earth did you find Harry?”
“Found him wandering around Knockturn Alley, says he was taking the floo powder system with you and the Weasleys.”
“Well thank you for finding him, maybe now he will learn the importance of pronunciation.” You looked at him with seriousness as he looked towards the ground. You turned to walk away, and were several steps ahead when Harry looked towards George and Fred, “She isn’t seriously mad is she?”
“Nah, if she was, she would have cut your head off. If anything I think she was more worried about you, but don’t worry, we kept her sane.” Fred replied, as George smiled, “Barely.”
-When you got to the book store you rolled your eyes, and leaned towards Fred, “Honestly I have the faintest idea why everyone is so bloody obsessed with him.”
“Perhaps it is the golden curls, most girls like blondes.”
“I prefer gingers if you ask me.” You replied, not thinking twice, as Fred sheepishly smiled.
-You noticed that Harry looked extremely uncomfortable around Lockheart, “You know, sometimes I wish Harry wasn’t famous.”
“Trust me, I am sure he is wishing the same thing.” George answered
-When Lucius saw you, his lips were pulled into a thin, forced smile. You always knew that the bloodline between the Malfoys and the Blacks were now connected by the marriage of Draco’s parents, and even though you never met any of your father’s bloodline, they certainly had their own opinions about your father, and of you.
-You hadn’t noticed that he slipped in the diary, but you did hear Fred’s mutter, “Asshole.”, when he insulted Arthur by calling him a disgrace, your own blood boiling as you watched him start to leave. Looking towards Arthur you muttered, “I apologize for my father’s cousin’s miserable husband.”
“No problem my dear, it isn’t your fault that his view is skewed.” Arthur forced a smile as Fred and George looked towards you, “Want to go to Gambol and Jape’s?”
“Of course.” You smiled, before the three of you separated from the others.
-When Molly and Arthur collected you from Gambol and Jape’s you walked out with a small bag filled with stink pellets, while both twins had a arm full of fireworks.
-You three let the fireworks off that night, a huge smile on your face as the colorful embers danced through the sky. You were so preoccupied with them you failed to noticed the way Fred watched the multiple colors light up your own face, his smile growing as you smiled like a little girl as each exploded, his heart racing while you just looked so relaxed sitting in the grass by the garden. When you went inside though you took a piece of parchment and started jotting down ideas on what kind of potion based pranks you could pull, and ask Dumbledore to teach you.
- The next morning when you woke up, you were sprawled out on the cot, the snores of the two fingers filling your ears as you stretched your arms high above your head. Slowly sitting up, you heard the mattress crack and groan under the weight of you, and looked to either side of the room, a smile on your face. George looked as though he hadn’t moved all night, his faded maroon sheet draped over his body, which was facing the wall, while his quilt was neatly folded at his feet. He was facing the wall, completely laying on his stomach, his left arm under his single, matching pillow, while his forehead rested on the wrist of his right arm. You couldn’t help but chuckle too at the fact that his light green pajama shirt looked slightly too small on his flexed arm, knowing fully well that the matching striped pants almost looked too large on him. When you looked to Fred’s side though, the faded, slightly bleach stained blue sheets were a tangled mess, showing how much the older twin tossed about, the quilt he slept under throw completely to the bottom of his bed. One of his three pillows had fallen to the floor, the other two supporting his head and left arm, which was bent above him. He was laying flat on his back, his head lolled towards you, his mouth slightly open, with a small trickle of crusted drool dripping down his cheek. You smiled well though when you saw that the small hippogrif plushie he had had since childhood was safely tucked under his right arm, close to his bare chest, as a single, striped pink panted leg hung out over the side of the bed, outside of the sheets.
-After making your cot, you grabbed the closest piece of discarded shirts and pulled it over your head, concealing the tank top that you had slept in. Your feet gracefully carried you out of the room and down the stairs. Upon reaching the bottom you yawned, your eyes squinting and reopening to reveal a giggling Ginny at the table, as Molly stood at the counter behind her.
“Morning [Y/N], or should I say Fred.” Ginny stated, causing you to look down and see you had blindly grabbed Fred’s sweater from your first year at Hogwarts, the dark blue knitted yarn reaching the mid thigh of your black pajama pants, while the light green F stood out on your chest. Looking at Ginny, you made a face and replied, “Well thank goodness I am the more attractive version of your brother.”
- That morning when Fred came down stair he couldn’t help but smile as he saw your dark blue back, of course you were helping his mother, who knew you would not accept her declining your assistance. However it was when you turned to put the plate filled with bacon on the table that Fred felt a slight heat rush to his cheeks, the large F staring at him before you turned back around, completely oblivious to the blushing ginger. Ginny however was not as oblivious, and as Fred sat himself in the seat across from her she leaned forward, “You better have a good reason for being the same shade as our hair, unless you want [Y/N] to figure out your in love with her.”
-When you were done prepping breakfast with Molly, you slipped into the spot next to Fred, your eyes glancing over to him as you took in the slightly fading blush that had taken over his face. “Freddie, are you okay?”
“Course, just didn’t realize how hot the kitchen was gonna be this morning.”
“Well maybe you should shrug that t shirt off and remind your siblings why you are the hottest Weasley.” You joked, not even realizing what you had said until it was too late. Your eyes grew to the size of the tea saucers on the table. Thankfully no one heard your joke but Fred, who was just staring at you with a similar.
-After that you both were wearing blushes, and were strangely quiet during the entire breakfast, however only one of the Weasleys seemed notice, the others and Harry just enjoyed the rare quiet that the adults of the house only enjoyed when their children were at school. However they were unaware how deafening it would be once all 7 children were out of the house.
-At the end of the meal while you were helping Ginny double check her luggage, George asked Fred about why you were both so quiet. As Fred zipped his own luggage, and collected yours in his other hand, he asked, “Do you think [Y/N] might have a crush on me?”
“Only one way to find out Mate.” George smirked, hoping that his brother will finally ask you out.
Tumblr media
-When you got to King’s Cross, you couldn’t help but smile slightly, “So Ron, did you remember Scabbers?”
“Unfortunately.”
“If you want I can hold him on the train.” You offered as he thrusted the rat towards you in excitement, relieved to be rid of the family pet got at least a little while.
-As you raced into the barrier you were greeted by the warm glow of the room, and soon you had your two favorite twins at your side. Your eyes scanning the room for the uncle who said a week ago it was fine that you went with the Weasleys and he would just met you there, but he was no where to be seen.
-What you didn’t know is the Remus was standing in Azkaban, his face dropping at sight of the man he once called brother, his heart shattering at the sight of Padfoot curled up on the cement blocked floor, on just a thin mat, a holey, dusty blue blanket barely covered him as the stentch of the place hit Remus’s over sensitive nose. But he had to tell himself this is what he deserved, and after 11 years of not seeing him, he regretted ever coming.
“Sirius.” He whispered, causing the man on the floor to jump with a start, his eyes wide with fear, as his bewildered face looked towards the bar, another crack forming in Remus’s heart as he looked not at a man, but at the face of the boy he met on the train at the age of 11.
“Remus.” Sirius whispered, “This isn’t real. You are just...”
“Sirius, it is really me.” His voice cracked with empathy he didn’t want to give, he could feel the tears slowly begin to build, but for the sake of you, he refused to let them fall. He refused to feel pity about the fact that he and Dumbledore were withholding his letters from you, in an effort to protect Harry, he knew hiding this from you, even after the promise of no secrets, was the right thing to do, and he refused to have Sirius’s hollowed, deep blue eyes, no longer filled with any life make him regret that choice.
“Why have you come? It’s been years my old friend, you could have...”
“I came to answer to answer your question, that is all Sirius. I figured you would want to hear it in person rather then read it through a letter. You need to stop writing her, and me. In my option you lost the right to even call her yours the day you betrayed our best friends, the day you got her aunt and uncle blown up.”
“Remus look in your heart, would I ever turn on a James and Lily?”
“You did, and then you killed Peter, and who knows maybe I was next on your...”
“I would never kill you, or James, or Lily, Peter was the secret keeper, you can even ask Dumbledore, he knew, he knew I convinced James and Lily to do it, because I was the obvious choice.” He sounded as though he was babbling like a broken man, each syllable made Remus want to unlock that door, but he couldn’t.
“Why not have me do it, too scared the Lunar calendar would fog my judgement?”
“No..... never. Remus you must understand, at the time, we thought it was you we could no longer trust. We were foolish...”
“No, Snuffles, we were foolish for ever trusting you.”
- Remus turned to leave, his message clear to him, but as he walked away he heard the broken voice call out again, “WORMTAIL IS ALIVE, HE IS A RAT WITH NINE FINGERS! REMUS!”
- “So I never asked,” you looked at George, Scabbers sitting on your lap, his face in a box of jellybeans, “Why is Scabbers missing a toe?”
-Don’t know, Dad just brought him home like that.” Fred replied, “He really seems to like you though, sure you don’t want him?”
“Your mother would have a cow if I took him.” You replied, running a hand over his wirey furred back.
“Did we ever tell you that there is a spell that will turn him...”
“Do I look as daft as Ron?” You replied, raising an eyebrow at the twins.
-When you got to Hogwarts, you looked around for the smaller male Weasley, but him and Harry were no where to be seen. “I am sure they are already inside the carriages, you can give Ronald back his vermon in the common room, besides I doubt Scabs here would have any fun just sitting in their stinky dorm, especially when you feed the ugly thing better than Ron or Percy ever have.” Fred replied, throwing an arm around your shoulder as you both started towards the carriages. His arm staying in that place until you were forced to step up into the carriages that pulled themselves. However once you were both settled next to each other you unconsciously found yourself leaning into Fred’s shoulder. George looked over you, and gave his twin a knowing look, as Fred just rolled his eyes, mentally preparing for his brother to give him many looks like that after asking him if she could ever have a crush on him.
-At dinner you kept looking around the gryffindor table, Ron and Harry still no where to be found. Hermione was seated across from you as you leaned forward and asked, “Hermione, have you seen Harry or Ron?”
“Not yet, neither of them were on the train.” She answered as your eyes grew in fear, “I am sure they will show though, they probably just snuck into the kitchen for a per feast snack.”
-When you went to stand and go look for them, Lee stopped you, just before the first years all filed in, “We can look for them later, if you leave now, everyone will notice.”
-When Ginny got sorted into Gryffindor you cheered louder than everyone at the table, even louder than the other three gingers. With a large smile she jogged down the aisle and took a seat beside you, before watching everyone else get sorted.
-Ginny chuckled when she saw Scabbers sitting on your lap, his small body curled up on your skirt as you sat with a hand over him. She could see that his eyes were closed, and that he was in a peaceful bliss, which she never saw him be around the Weasleys.

Can you explain your divorced Drarry AU a little more? I love Drarry and want to know why, when and how this happened
Ok, so here is my head canon.
Harry and Ginny dated for 2 years before Ginny got accidentally pregnant. It was a big surprise, but it was a happy surprise and they decided to get married.
After James was born Ginny got back to quidditch and Harry became the new DADA teacher, taking care of James with help of the elf's in the castle.
A year and so later during their anniversary they got pregnant again (Ginny was a little mad) but in the end they keep it and enjoy the whole process. When Albus was born , Harry and Ginny talked about plans and jobs.
Ginny cut her time in quidditch a bit (just local games) and take care of the kids while Harry had lesson.
When Albus turned 1 Ginny got asked for a position on the national quidditch team. A year later they got pregnant again....thing didn't go as good this time.
Ginny's career was picking up, and having a baby in that moment wasn't a good idea.
They fighted a lot because of that.
In the end Hermione solved the problem.
There was a new project to solve the problem that a lot of pure bloods had regarding their capacity to carry to term.
Some mediwizards created an artificial portable Womb (like a packpack but for the front) that allows any parent to carry the child to term safely.
Hermione was helping with the project, so she suggested that Harry carried the baby with him instead of Ginny. They agreed.
Lily Luna was born safely 8 months later.
But Ginny didn't come back, not really. She came home as much as she could, but the trainings where long and difficult so she often just came to say good night.
On Harry's 25 birthday things reach the point of no return.
The party was at the burrow, everyone came, everyone except Ginny.
She arrived around 1am, after everyone was gone and it was just Harry and Hermione cleaning everything.
And they talked. Things weren't working, they hadn't had a marriage, they where more like roommates.
They call it quits.
For the kids thing didn't change, they saw their mother every time she could and their dad was there all the time.
Things got better.
On Albus first day at Hogwarts,Harry saw Draco for the first time in years, the last time was when he returned his wand.
Draco was with a woman and a child. His family.
When he got to the selection ceremony he found out the name of the child. Scorpius.
The kid was really smart and very polite. He became best friends with Al after they got to Slytherin.
Three months after the year started Al and Scorpius got into trouble. They where outside after hours... They got detention, Harry got the visit of a very angry Draco
After explaining that it was actually Scorpius idea and not Albus, Malfoy went away.
The kids got into trouble again, and again and again.
And Draco came to scream every time, to the point where Harry had tea waiting for him.
On one of those time they started to talk about other things, about quidditch, their jobs...the past.
Since the kids got into trouble basically every week, it became kind of their ritual to get tea after visiting the headmistress office (kids grounded and everything)
Until one week where the kids didn't got into trouble, and Draco came anyway.
Christmas came and Harry found out that Astoria (Scorpius mother) wasn't joining them, so he invited them to dinner at Potter's
(Ginny had a big game that day and wouldn't come)
Draco accepted.
He got to meet the rest of the kids (Teddy, James and Lily) and Andromeda.
They spend a lovely evening until the kids manage to trap them on a Mistletoe.
It was a quick kiss, but Harry's lips got tingling for a few hours after.
No one said anything after that.
It wasn't until February when Draco came to Harry's office to find a pile of valentine's gifts that he decided that he didn't liked the idea of Harry dating anyone other than him. He invited Harry on a date for valentine's.
It was amazing. The kissing was the best part.
They keep dating after that. During the summer they visited all the time (Andromeda and Narcissa where fixing their relationship, Lucius had home arrest ,and for some incredible reason, spend a lot of his time talking with Lily and teaching her stuff )
Ginny and the Weasleys got to meet Draco (again). He apologized for everything, Ron challenged him to a chest game (Ron won) and George changed his hair colour to red.
Astoria meet Harry and the kids, she took them shopping (lily and Albus love it, the rest didn't)
On the second Christmas together (as in the second Christmas dinner they shared) Draco proposed because he said that it was that day, after their kiss, that he knew that he wouldn't want anyone else but Harry. Harry said yes. They got married on valentine's Day ( to everyones horror) .
They fought over every detail.
They still got married.
Draco still got jealous every time Harry got gifts from his students for Valentine's. Harry kissed him every time.

Hello. I am, as you know, an American. I turned eighteen in 2014, voted in my first presidential election in 2016, and voted in my second presidential election last week via early voting in the state of Texas.
I’m reflecting right now on the difference between those experiences. This is going to be a very self-indulgent essay.
The 2016 election was in my third and final year of undergrad at Texas A&M University. At the time, I was living with a roommate who grew up in a town of 2,000, all of them members of her church. I loved her very much, but she was the most sheltered person I’ve ever met.
I was only a few years ahead of her. My home growing up was deeply liberal about many of the things that counted, but deeply conservative on equally important things. For me, leaving for college was a radicalization speed-run.
I, a good Memphis girl, moved to Texas and encountered for the first time in my life white homogeny and everything that comes with it. I made most of my friends at A&M through a Christian orientation camp that I attended, then worked at. I went to school at a history department that was overwhelmingly male and war-obsessed.
My second semester, I was randomly sorted into a writing seminar on the American Civil War and Reconstruction. There were eight other students in that class, all of them Texans. By day two I had gotten into a open fight with one of my classmates after he used the phrases “one of the humane parts of slavery” and “the secession declarations are moving and beautiful appeals, if you read them,” and “well I’m not going to criticize my own state.”
We got into at least one yelling match per week from that point forward. It was a formative experience for me-- not just him but the seven other students that took his side every time because they just couldn’t conceptualize anything outside of their own experiences, and frankly, I couldn’t either.
It rocked my world to be surrounded by people who told me, among other things, that their high schools flew the Confederate battle flag or Lee was their all time role-model (because he actually didn’t want to secede! He didn’t believe in it, but Virginia did, so he put his own qualms aside and served his country, and that’s what we all have to do). I ran a survey once by knocking on every door in a dorm hall and asking the two people inside why the Civil War happened.
I feel like you can guess the most common answer I got. Only two said slavery. Six didn’t know what the Civil War was.
The last week of the semester, my class read a collection of recorded oral accounts of freed slaves during Reconstruction. My nemesis told me that he “didn’t realize black people actually had it bad.” At the same time, I was struggling with my sexuality, my relationship to my religion, my relationship with my parents, and a handful of newly-diagnosed but long-existing mental illnesses. I wasn’t having fun.
Over the next three years, I tried my hardest to humanize the people that said disgusting things about minorities, poverty, and me personally. I barely won on that one, and I’m actually really proud that I did, even if it took me a few years. I can trace the biggest change in me directly to my nemesis from the history department, the kid that made me so mad that I started arguing back. I was too scared to do that before.
By 2016, I was in full existential spin-out-- a very suddenly liberal kid fighting my whole family, all of my classmates, and most of my friends in an explosive political climate, the first I had ever participated in.
I voted by Tennessee absentee ballot in 2016. On election night, I ordered takeout for me and my roommate, who I knew had voted red. Confident, like pretty much everybody, that Clinton would win, I was trying to show her that I didn’t hate her. She went to bed after dinner, also so certain that Clinton would win that she didn’t bother to stay up.
I sat in front of my laptop sewing a birthday present for a friend (Kenza, actually), while the votes came in. I wasn’t super alarmed when the map turned red. I just figured the blue states hadn’t finished counting yet.
The map didn’t get any bluer. By 1am, I knew what was about to happen. They called it an hour later, while I was sobbing on my floor. I threw up in the bathroom out of pure anxiety. I got two anonymous messages telling me the asker was going to commit suicide. Neither of them responded to my replies. I don’t actually know what happened to them.
I remember riding the bus to class the next morning and distinctly seeing that most of the racial minorities there had swollen eyes from crying. The girl with the pride stickers all over her laptop didn’t show up that day, and I’m kind of glad she didn’t, considering the way some of our classmates in the back were loudly talking about “the gays.” Hope she’s okay.
My roommate came home completely unaware that Clinton lost. I was crying in my room when that happened. I remember showing her a demographic map of who voted which way. She got visibly upset when she figured out what races how. I think she really did feel guilty.
That Thanksgiving, one of my cousins tweeted, “I can’t wait to go argue with my liberal cousin today. The wins. Keep. Coming,” an hour before he walked into my house. Inauguration day was January 20, 2017. I decided to go to law school a week later, the day the president signed the Muslim ban. That’s when I figured out for the first time just how much power the courts have. The last three years have only enforced that.
I got angrier and angrier during law school, egged on by a few friends but more than anything just... finally conscious of exactly how the American system works and exactly who’s behind it. I still live in Texas, farther west now, and I’m working my first legal job. I’m going to be a licensed attorney next week.
I went back and forth for months about how this election was going to shake out. I knew there wasn’t going to be an overwhelming red majority this time, but my big fear was an election close enough that the Supreme Court could take it. That fear doubled last month, at RBG’s death.
I was hoping for a blue enough victory on election night that there wouldn’t be a week of uncertainty, but that was unlikely, and it didn’t happen. I obsessively refreshed my election map all of Wednesday and Thursday, aware that at least some states would flip after mail-in ballots came in, but unsure which would.
Again, my great fear was a blue victory held down by only one state. Given (I would say “any” chance here, but I don’t mean “any” chance because genuinely jurisdiction or facts or legal merit don’t matter to the Supreme Court) an opportunity to make one (1) decision that hands over a red election, please know that a conservative supermajority would take it. I cannot emphasize enough how true that is and how important it is for all of us to grasp that.
Watching Georgia flip was one of the best experiences of my life, and it’s a little hard for me to articulate why, but I’m going to give it a shot here. I’m southern. I’m from the South, and for this conversation it’s really important that I’m from Memphis, a black city and a center of black music and culture.
When people think about the South, they think of the white South, and on some level, they should. It is absolutely essential to understand the white South in order to understand American history. Let me be 100% clear here. That is not a good thing. American majority history is not good. We are not a good country.
It’s near-impossible to understand why that’s true without knowing exactly what happened in the white South and exactly what is still happening there now. With that, however, is another truth that most folks don’t get.
The SouthTM is white and needs to die. The South as it actually exists is partially white yes, but it is also everyone else that lives here, particularly black folks. Southern culture is black, not white. Georgia flipped because the people that have always, always been there finally got to crack apart the conservative machine holding the South hostage.
That’s amazing. It’s fucking mind-blowing. I watched it happen at 3:30 in the morning days after Election Day, and holy shit holy shit, Georgia flipped. Atlanta won. Holy fucking shit.
I would be terrified right now if only Georgia flipped, because SCOTUS would have found a way to throw out a few thousand votes. Inevitable. Absolutely certain on that one.
With a few states of buffer, I don’t think that’s going to happen. I really do think it’s over.
I came home after work on Friday and immediately went to sleep because I hadn’t really done that since Tuesday. I woke up at noon today, checked the map, checked my messages, and saw what happened while I was gone. After that, I went back to bed until 5:30pm. I’m really just getting up now, after most of 24 hours asleep.
I don’t know if I would say that I’m happy right now, but I am overwhelmingly relieved. I’m under no illusions that a Biden victory will solve everything, but I also do think this is a real thing to celebrate. I’ll take suggestions on how to celebrate right now, actually, since I’m finally awake.
I’ll be angry forever, I think, but this is a good thing, and I’d like to enjoy it. If you’re happy right now, hey, tell me about it. I’ll be thrilled with you. I want to hear it. Congrats to all of us. Love y’all.

Hi I hope you’re still doing prompts! Can I request #1 for a F reader with Suga? Thanks in advance if you can! ❤️❤️❤️
In love with Kiyoko’s best friend
pairings: sugawara x reader
prompt: 1) Oh my god! You’re in love with him/her
warnings: none
a/n: i’m very very slow on requests atm it’s 1am now fjdkskdsld. i also got two of my prompts mixed up and i had a story planned LMAO IM SO MESSED UP TODAY also as i’m writing this i realised i have school in four days
Being a third year student at Karasuno High and not having a little crush on Kiyoko was physically impossible. How could someone not have a crush on her? She was beautiful, perfect face, beautiful eyes, stunning features. She’s instantly the most beautiful girl according to all the boys in the school.
But that’s not how it is for Sugawara. Yes, he used to crush on Kiyoko, but that was until he met a girl, Y/n L/n, a girl he fell head over heals in love with.
Did she know he was in love with her? Of course not. She was Kiyoko’s best friend. According to Sugawara, she was the most beautiful female he had ever laid his eyes on. No one else thought so, mainly since everyone was so interested in Kiyoko that they didn’t have eyes for anyone else. So, if no one had their eyes on you, wouldn’t that mean Suga would have chance?
He started off with small hints. Whenever everyone was surrounded around Kiyoko he would slowly walk over to wherever you were, wanting to be close to you, trying to make it look like he just didn’t want to be part of the crowd. Secretly, he just wanted to be close to you.
Everyone wondered why he stopped hanging around Kiyoko. Tanaka and Nishinoya didn’t seem to care as much, “Less people hitting on Kiyoko” they would repeat while trying to wrap their arms around her.
“Please, those two are such airheads,” you laughed.
Suga blushed, causing you to instantly pick up the blush on his face. A small smile spread across yours.
One time at lunch, he was sitting with his two best friends, when Daichi decided to ask him what was going on,
“What’s going on? You used to be head over heals for Kiyoko like everyone else, and now you seem to not like her? Is something wrong?” Daichi asked.
“No, nothing’s wrong. I just found someone who I like more than Kiyoko,” he smiled.
“Really? That’s interesting, since everyone at the school literally simps for her,” Daichi added.
“So who’s the new girl?” Asahi questioned.
“Y/n L/n.”
“Wait, isn’t that Kiyoko’s best friend?” Asahi asked.
“Yeah.”
“Dude, you’re literally going for Kiyoko’s best friend.” Daichi laughed.
“Don’t laugh. Ever since I saw her, she just lit up the whole room. I know that everyone loves Kiyoko, but there’s something about Y/n that I like more. I know we’re not together, but I really want to be with her. She makes me happy. I want to grow old with her, I want to make her my girlfriend, I want to take her out on fancy dates and buy her cute presents. She makes me... happy. Really, really happy,” Suga explained.
“Oh my god! You’re in love with her!” Daichi exclaimed.
“I mean, I don’t think it’s love... maybe I just really, really like her.”
“Or maybe you’re in love with her. I overheard her and Kiyoko talking this morning. She’s coming to practice today. Asahi, c’mon, we gotta do something to get the two together.”
“No, no, I should be alright. I can do it myself.”
“We’ll come up with something to support you!” Asahi added.
And that’s exactly what they did. At practice, Daichi and Asahi dragged Kiyoko away, the rest of the volleyball team following them, leaving Sugawara and you alone together.
“They all seem to really like her,” you mentioned, trying to make conversation with the only boy left over, “Why aren’t you with them?”
“Let’s just say, I found a girl who I like better than Kiyoko,” he stated.
“Really? That seems impossible. C’mon Suga, spill the tea, who is it?”
“Well, uh... it’s kinda... you.”
“Me?”
“Yeah.”
“What do you see in me that’s better than Kiyoko?” you laughed.
“You’re just... I don’t know how to put it, but every time you walk into the room the whole world lights up and I feel like I’m in a dream, but i’m not,” he started to fiddle with his fingers, “I think you’re really pretty and I would love to be in a relationship with you, but I’m unsure if you feel the same way.”
“I would.”
“You would what?”
“Want to be in a relationship with you.”
“So, is that a yes?” he questioned, a little shocked on how easy his confession went.
“Yes, Suga. That’s a yes.”

The Protagonist - Hyunjin
❀ Slice of life
❀ Warning: mentions of death & covid-19
❀ Word count: 8k
❀ When your best friend Ryujin cheats on her boyfriend who you’re also friends with, you’re stuck to pick up the pieces of their relationship. When Ryujin starts pushing you away and Hyunjin starts keeping you close, you wonder who was a better friend to you in the first place and uncover new feelings you never knew you had.
❀ A/N: i know i haven’t written in like a year?? but i suddenly had inspiration to write. Honestly, I felt the inspiration after I didn’t get picked job opportunity I really wanted (and thought I was going to get). I was put on the waitlist, but it still hurt my ego. But, I had some other good news and you can read on my blog about it, but I still wanted to write. I didn’t really have anything in mind, but I just let my words take me where it needed to be. Also, don’t get used to me writing, I won’t be writing often or at all. I’m not that into skz anymore LOL
------
Do you ever feel like you’re not the protagonist of your own story?
Yeah, that’s how I feel everyday.
Especially today.
“Ok, on the count of three, we reveal our statuses ... one... two..”
“And three!”
I tore open the letter from my dream college, Seoul University, probably giving myself a paper cut in the process.
“OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD, I GOT IN! I got in y/n, holy shit!” I heard my friend’s words over the speaker, but I just couldn’t get the stupid envelope open.
“Fuck this.” I grabbed the scissors nearby and cut the damn thing open, revealing a thin piece of white paper.
I regret to inform you that you have been...
I felt tears well up in my eyes instantly at the words “regret” and “inform”, already knowing where the letter is taking me.
“Y/N?? What does it say?!”
I cleared my throat. “I didn’t get in...”
I cried harder, silently, when I heard her moans of agony. “No fucking way! You’re a WAY better student than I am! There’s something wrong.”
I shook my head. I was a good student, but I wasn’t the best personality. I was only in two clubs: acapella club and bagel club. Not good enough for the best university in our city.
“It’s ok. I have plenty more universities I applied to, I’ll be ok. I’m so, so happy for you though! I swear you’re gonna have so much fun!”
My stomach churned as I said those words. Did I really mean them? I didn’t feel happy in the moment.
“Ugh, I hate this... I really thought we would be roommates!”
I set the pristine piece of paper on my desk; I didn’t even want to look at it anymore.
“Don’t worry about it. This could even be a good thing! We’ll meet new people and just widen our group of friends. It’ll be awesome. Plus, I’m too weird for this clean cut college.” I joked.
That made her laugh. “You’re right, they couldn’t handle your personality. Anyways, I got to go to drama club right now, talk later? And again, I’m really sorry y/n.”
I pursed my lips. “Talk later, and don’t worry about me!” I ended the phone call and let the tears fall freely from my eyes.
I knew this would happen.
How could I compete with a chemistry major with a 4.0 GPA and the president of 2 clubs with a bombass personality? I was nothing compared to her.
I picked up the piece of paper and took one good look at it before crumpling it into a ball and throwing it. The soft thud barely made a sound which was anticlimactic. I was trying to have an angsty teen moment here??
Sometimes I felt like I was just a side character in a movie or a book. I was that girl who watched her best friend experience all these things in life and you just stand by them and cheer them on. They are the ones who have a mental breakdown and somehow end up with the love of their life at the end.
That was my best friend, Ryujin.
She was the one that every guy and girl fell for. Her charisma bounced off walls and even made me dizzy at times. And it wasn’t even like she was the “girly-girl” that we see in movies, no no no, tomboys are much trendier nowadays. She was confident around guys and wasn’t afraid to embarrass herself in front of anyone. I was insanely jealous of her sometimes which I would never admit.
She’s funny and adventurous, pretty and athletic: she is everything I ever wanted to be in a person.
She even had the hottest guy in the school as her boyfriend, Hwang Hyunjin.
I, on the other hand, was the opposite of her. I wasn’t overly awkward and uncomfortable to be around like the protagonists of some books. I wasn’t even cold and hostile like the mysterious girl in fanfiction.
No, I was just completely and utterly average.
I wasn’t “ugly” or whatever that means. You wouldn’t cringe away if you saw me, but the only guys I attract on the streets are the ones who might follow me home. I was friendly to people I met and was the queen of small talk. I was girlier than I wanted to be and try to put on makeup, but end up with botched eyebrows and nonexistent mascara-- that didn’t stop me from trying though.
I cringed at every horror movie, I hate sports, I love astrology, and the only close friends I have are girls.
Well, the only friend I truly have is Ryujin and all her friends became mine.
Any who, I was the girl that if a story was written about her, it’d be about 2 minutes long. I never had any big failures or big achievements. No family issues or tragic past. Nothing. I was a normal girl with a normal life.
And now one who wouldn’t even be going to college with her best friend who she depends on for her social life. Oh yeah, I was a burden too. Now she can’t even be fully happy because of me.
Great, just great.
I felt a buzz near the bottom of my foot. I sighed and kicked it towards me.
‘Ok i wasnt going to ask you this, but i just have to. did you know?’ -hyunjin
I squinted my eyes, re-reading the message to see if I got that correctly. What the heck is he talking about?
‘what are you talking about?’
‘are you being serious?’ -hyunjin
Ok, now this is just weird. I sat up in my bed, suddenly interested in this conversation.
‘im being serious. i have no clue what you’re talking about. care to inform me?’
I sent the text, realizing this is probably the longest conversation Hyunjin and I have had over text. We often hung out in person in groups, since he was Ryujin’s boyfriend and we did have the occasional deep conversation, but talking like this was new territory.
‘im 100% sure ryu would tell her best friend that she cheated’ -hyunjin
Wait. What did he just say?
Suddenly I was standing, pacing around the room.
‘ok, i’ve officially lost whatever ur talking about. what the hell are you saying? ryujin did not’ I typed in confidence, but realized I shouldn’t immediately attack the victim. I erased the message and called him.
He picked up almost instantly.
“What the hell did you just say?” I heard him shift around, probably in his bed.
“I said, I’m sure that Ryujin would tell you if she cheated-”
“Ok, that, stop right there. You’re saying Ryujin cheated on you?” I felt my head spin.
Ryujin can’t be a cheater. That’s impossible. And plus, she would’ve told me if something was wrong in her perfect relationship.
I heard a loud chuckle on his side. “Wow, you really don’t know do you.” I shook my head, but I realized he couldn’t see me.
“Um, I really don’t, so I would really love it if you explained.”
“What’s there to explain? She came to my house two days ago and told me she was cheating on me with Jeongin. Yang fucking Jeongin, who is, yes, a grade younger than us!”
I winced at his volume. Hyunjin was a lot of things, but he definitely wasn’t a liar. Neither was Ryujin which is why I had no idea what was going on.
“You have anything to say?” He asked. But I was in complete shock.
“Well, um... I’m gonna talk to her about this. Bye, Hyunjin.” I hung up the phone and tossed it on the side of my bed despite his muffled talking.
What the fuck is going on?
-------
“I’m asking you a simple question, did you or did you not cheat on Hyunjin?”
After Ryujin came home from drama club, I was already there waiting at her door. She gave me a weird look since we live a good 20 minute walk away from each other, but yes, this conversation was worth the exercise.
“Excuse me, what did you just say?” She asked with a sassy tone, but I had no time for this bullshit.
“Did you cheat on Hyunjin? God Ryu, just answer the question!” I felt my face turning red and I knew I was losing my temper. I had no idea why I was so upset, but I just was.
I saw her features contort, and I knew I was going to hear the truth.
“Ok, yeah, yeah I did.”
My heart dropped.
We didn’t say anything to each other for a couple of seconds. It was like we were both taunting each other, which she doesn’t have the right to do in this moment.
“Are you serious? Why?” I asked incredulously.
She didn’t say anything yet walked passed me and straight to her door.
“Hey, what the hell?”
“Y/N, I cheated on him, what else is there to say? It’s done, it happened!” I almost flinched at her tone. It was bitter and angry and it was a tone I was used to with her.
“What the fuck? Ryu, why wouldn’t you tell me? And this is breaking Hyunjin’s heart-”
“You know what? I don’t have to tell you everything about my relationship! It has nothing to do with you. It doesn’t even matter, ok? I just don’t wanna talk about it.”
I stood silently, wondering who was this person in front of me.
“Fine, I’ll leave then.”
As I walked back to my house, I couldn’t help but feel like I was stuck in the protagonist’s drama once again.
-----
It was almost 1am when I got back home. Thankfully, my parents were asleep and thought I was staying the night at Ryujin’s like I told them. I snuck in the house and collapsed on my bed. This was too much emotion for one day.
I peered down at my phone and saw the light illuminate the room.
‘So. is your world shattered like mine?’ -hyunjin
I bit my lip. Was it weird to text my best friend’s ex-boyfriend like this? Technically, we were somewhat of friends too. So I’m not breaking any rules.
‘this is fucked up. im rly sorry man, she really didn’t tell me.’ I brushed my hands through my hair and felt the sweat sticking to it. I had walked back in the spring heat, it was too much.
‘Damn, I didn’t think she would pull something like that and not even tell YOU. that’s cold.’
‘tell me about it. we were just fine earlier today, dont know whats goin on with her.’ I hesitated before typing the next part. ‘also, i know we arent the closest and ik im also ryu’s friend, but im here for you bro. this is a messed up situation’
‘Thanks, that means a lot... most of my friends are making fun of me for getting cheated on... with a JUNIOR. disgusting.’
I snorted. ‘technically, if ryujin didn’t skip a grade, she’d be a junior too.’
‘y/n, pls don’t ruin this moment’
‘fine, fine, disgusting, she cheated on u with a junior. plus ur friends are felix and jisung who are also complete insensitive dickheads sometimes’
‘Thank you.’
I laughed. Hyunjin was always an interesting guy to hang out with. Sure we never texted or talked much, but he was always a joy to have around. He was quiet in school, but he was animated around his friends. And of course, an awesome boyfriend to Ryujin.
Seeing them together made me more aware of my singleness. He would open doors for her, give her his jacket when she was cold, pay for her meals, he even knew how to braid hair, like what the fuck? He was perfect.
And then she cheated on him.
And didn’t even tell me.
I rubbed my forehead. I was always a fixer. I fixed other people’s problems, which made me quite involved in their issues even if I shouldn’t be.
‘but seriously though, im rly sorry this happened to you...’
‘yeah ... a year down the drain. and plus, i got accepted to Seoul University with her today.’ My heart sank, even when I knew it shouldn’t.
Hyunjin was a smart guy, maybe a little too studious for his own good. He had lots of fun in high school, but made sure to go home early to events and not drink if he had a test the next day. He spent hours at the library at times and read in his free time, like me. Ryujin always hated it and thought we were too similar at times. Which is untrue because Hyunjin was way cooler than me.
‘If it makes you feel any better, I didn’t get accepted’
‘That actually did not make me feel better and made me even sadder because what the fuck?? you’re an amazing student!’
That made me smile of course, the valedictorian was complimenting my intellect.
‘aha thanks, i’ll probably end up going to incheon uni which isn’t too far from here so i’ll be ok’
‘That’s good, maybe i should consider going since half the senior class is going to seoul lol’
I scoffed. “hyunjin, don’t give up your dream uni just because ryujin will be there. you probably wont see her as often as u think’
‘If I decided not to go there, it won’t be because of Ryujin. But seriously, I rarely try anything new and i feel like i’m confined to a small group of people. At least at Incheon, I’ll know less people.”
I sighed loudly. Oh Hyunjin, it must suck to get a mental breakdown right before going to college. It happens to the best of us though.
‘well ok, where ever you go, i’ll know you’ll thrive!!’
‘:) thanks y/n. also, ik we dont talk much, but i really do appreciate you.’
Well, that warmed my heart... and my cheeks.
The fact that I was texting my friend’s ex boyfriend snapped me back into reality. And the fact that she cheated on him.
I gulped.
‘aw thanks hyunjin, i appreciate you too. Now get some sleep! it’s almost 2am’
I didn’t get a response back, and I hoped he fell asleep. I changed into my pajamas and did my nightly routine and fell asleep to thoughts of my friend’s ex-boyfriend.
------
I woke up to several buzzes that tickled my side. I grunted and threw the blanket off of me. I found my phone that was flung somewhere and picked it up. I turned off the notifications to stop the constant moving.
“It’s too freaking early for this.” I moaned.
I rubbed my eyes and peered down at the message.
‘hey im sorrrryyy for lashing out yesterday. i just feel guilty about the whole thing and i was afraid to tell you... also i think im in love with jeongin’ -ryujin
My eyes naturally widened at this confession.
Love? Ryujin dated Hyunjin for a whole year! How could she fall in love with Jeongin so easily??
‘excuse me?? what the fuck did you just say cuz i think u just said u LOVE jeongin??’
‘stfu. just hear me out, he’s a great guy and he’s just... normal’ -ryujin
Ok, time to call this bitch.
“Define normal?” I heard her sigh and adjust in her bed. She’s always been an early riser.
“Just, when I was dating Hyunjin, it felt like it had to be this perfect relationship. We were all friends before and it just seemed right that we dated. He was super nice and perfect and not to mention, hot, but it just felt superficial. I don’t know.”
Well this was new. Ryujin never told me much about the problems in their relationship and I thought everything was going well. Well, until now.
“I mean, I get that, you shouldn’t have to date anyone you don’t like. But, you should’ve broken up with him before!”
“You think I don’t know that? I made a mistake, ok? Can you just get off my back about it?”
There’s that temper again.
“Are you serious? You’re the one who texted ME in the morning.”
“I’m just, whatever.” She paused in between her words. “You just wouldn’t understand ‘cause you’ve never been in a relationship! I just can’t describe it, ok?” And on that note, I just hung up the phone. I was in no mood to play these games with her emotional roller coasters.
I bit my lip, knowing she would probably call me more times for hanging up on her, but I wasn’t in the mood. I was caught in between two of my friends, and I knew who was in the right and who was treating me better.
I saw my phone light up a few more times, which made me curious as to what she was sending me.
‘Hey, do you wanna have breakfast with me this morning?’ -hyunjin
I raised a brow. This was not the message I was expecting.
‘only if you’re paying’
‘deal’
-----
Soft r&b played from the speakers as I sipped from my small cup of apple juice, yes, I still drink apple juice.
“So, how are you feeling?” I finally asked the boy.
He was wearing a black tshirt and jeans and his hair was messier than usual. I could tell he wasn’t getting lots of sleep.
“As good as I can be.” He shuffled around in his chair like he had more to say. “Just, it’s still crazy to me. Getting cheated on... it’s a whole new feeling.”
I nodded, but I couldn’t relate to it.
“Yeah...” I trailed off, not really knowing what to say or how to cheer him up.
We locked eyes suddenly and I grew shy. Hyunjin was always hot in my eyes, even though I pretended he wasn’t, for my friend’s sake. And for mine.
“What did she say when you talked to her?”
I laughed. “She totally flipped on me and told me to leave. I have no idea what’s going on with her right now. She’s lashing out for no reason.” I confessed.
“Yeah, she’s acting more temperamental lately. She always had a temper but this time... this time it’s out of control.”
I nodded, understanding what he was talking about. Ryujin was a feisty girl with lots of emotions. I respect her for being in tune with her emotions, but sometimes her actions go too far. Most guys thought it was hot though.
“Anyways, I don’t want to talk about her anymore. What about you? Any relationship problems?”
I forced a small smile. “Nope, all the guys that were ‘into me’ were trying to use me to get to her.”
Hyunjin took a bite out of his sandwich and shook his head. “Stone cold Slytherin.” I laughed at that one.
“Stone cold Slytherin indeed.”
“You know, Ryu has never watched any of the Harry Potter movies?? Which is crazy because I swear the first time we talked to each other it was about what Hogwarts house we would be in.”
I nodded slowly. “Yes, yes I do know that my best friend has never watched the movies. And it pains me everyday.” He rolled his eyes at my teasing tone. “Also, I think that’s because you guys met in Mrs. Park’s English class which I also happened to be in. Remember, we all were friends first?”
I thought back to those days, those simpler times. Hyunjin and Ryujin only dated for a year, but they’d known each other since our first year of high school. We were all somewhat of friends, more like acquaintances. But one day, their friendship just went to the next level.
Hyunjin nodded his head slowly. “Yeah, you’re right. Ryujin isn’t as nerdy as you.” I scoffed, knowing that was not true. I was the dumbest in the friend group.
“Alright, whatever you say.” I was out of witty banter.
We called for the check and walked slowly to his car. For a moment, we just seemed like two friends. Two kids from school who were eating breakfast together.
But we weren’t really. I was his ex-girlfriend’s best friend. And he was the guy my best friend cheated on.
And we were both losing a person who was ignoring us.
“This is me. See you sometime?” His expression was hard to read and I didn’t know if he was saying this just to be kind or if he actually meant it. Either way, I didn’t care.
“Sure. See you.” I waved at him awkwardly and he gave me a small wave back.
-------
A few weeks went by and soon, Ryujin and I were back to normal. I still texted Hyunjin quite often, but Ryujin didn’t know that. It’s not like I was lying to her, but I didn’t feel like she needed to know. It’s not like we were going behind her back and doing anything. He just needed a friend, and so did I.
The whole world was on lockdown and school got shut down early. Everyone was locked in their homes and told to keep a distance from each other in public. My electricity bill was off the charts and I was living off of Netflix for entertainment. Sometimes Ryujin came over, but she was the only one I really saw. She was an only child, so I pitied her.
“Ok, this one or this one?” She held up two outfits that were completely different. One was a dark green shirt that tied in the front and sparkly paired with black jeans that flared slightly at the bottom. The other was a pink blouse with flowers paired with a blue denim skirt.
I looked up from my phone and sat up on the ground.
“That dark green one, it compliments your skin tone and the jeans are cute.” She nodded and tossed the other on her bed.
“Great, Jeongin will love this.”
“Are you sure he understands fashion? He’s like 12.” I felt a pillow hit me face in an instant, but the comment was worth it. The age jokes never got old.
“Shut up! He’s the same age as me, only a grade younger. You know because I skipped a grade.” She bragged. I rolled my eyes and went back to playing on my phone.
“Okay~ Whatever you say. I’m just saying, your boobies hanging out might confuse him-”
She gave me a glare to shut me up from finishing. I shrugged and looked down at my phone.
“Should you even be hanging out with him? We aren’t supposed to hang out with people during this time.”
Ryujin snorted. “It’s my boyfriend, am I supposed to ignore him? I’d rather die.” I rolled my eyes are her insensitive statement. “Plus, aren’t we hanging out right now? You’re not my family.” Ouch, I’d always considered Ryujin family, but I guess she didn’t feel the same.
“That’s different. We’re best friends and I consider you my sister, since you don’t have one.” I spat. She narrowed her eyes at me and I saw the wheels turning in her head to clap back.
“Whatever, these rules are impossible."
I stayed quiet for a little bit, but I had so much to say.
“What? If you have something to say, spit it out.” Wow, was her aggressive tone always this annoying?
I threw up my hands in aggravation. “Fine, I just think you’re moving on too fast from Hyunjin. You just broke up with him-”
“I cheated on him.”
“Ok, you cheated on him. Shouldn’t you wait a little longer to get into a relationship? It’s ... It’s sort of cruel.”
She narrowed her eyes at me but her eyes softened.
“Look, what happened happened already. He knows I have feelings for someone else. I have to live for myself, ok? I’ll see you later.”
She left the room and I knew that was my queue to leave her house.
I picked up my phone and checked my messages before I left. I only had one, how popular of me.
‘what are you doing right now?’ -hyunjin
I furrowed my brows. His timing was impeccable.
‘um... nothing now. why?’
‘can you meet up rn?’
My eyebrows rose in surprise. Mr. Rule Follower wants to break the rules of quarantine? Interesting.
‘... we aren’t supposed to hang out unnecessarily right now.’ I reminded him, just in case he forgot.
I stood from Ryujin’s floor and started to look for my car keys. The perks of being the youngest sibling is that I was given my older brother’s car when he went off to college. Sadly, he’s back, but we share the car.
‘my mom is sick. shes getting tested today’
I froze.
You never expect those words to come out of your friend’s mouth.
‘where r u?’
------
I got in my car and booked it. It’s like I was moving faster than I could think.
Hyunjin’s parents were divorced and he lived with his father, so I knew he was safe to be around. But still, he saw his mom during the summers and occasionally throughout the year. They were close.
I drove up to his house and saw him sitting there with his head buried in his arms.
“Shit.”
I parked on the side of the road and ran out as soon as I could. He jolted up when he heard the slam of my car.
“y/n-”
I grabbed him and immediately pulled him into a hug. I wasn’t sure why I did it, but it felt right.
“It’s ok, it’s going to be ok.” I said before I could think. I wasn’t sure she was going to be ok, or if he was going to be ok, but he didn’t need to know that.
I felt him shake as tears he sobbed into my shoulder.
“She’s so old, y/n. I’m so scared. I hope she doesn’t have it. I fucking hope so bad.” I squeezed him tighter. Tears fell slowly from my eyes as I felt his pain.
“I’m sorry. We’ll be ok. It’ll be ok.” I rubbed his back soothingly and sat on the steps with him when he calmed down.
“I’m sorry for being such an emotional mess right now, I hope you weren’t anywhere important when I texted you. Honestly, I called Ryujin first but she didn’t pick up.” He mumbled the last part.
I frowned, but realized why she didn’t pick up.
“You look guilty, why?”
I thought about lying to him, but what was the use?
“I was actually at her house when you texted me... she was getting ready to go on a date with Jeongin.” I admit.
I saw his face contort and he let out a few strangled cries. I pulled him closer to me and felt his head on my shoulder.
“I’m sorry, I told her not to go.”
“Why? We broke up already. She made her choice.”
He took a small glance at him. His face was red and puffy; his sleep schedule was also not getting better. I knew that because we always texted at 1am.
“I know my opinion doesn’t matter, but I think she made the wrong one.”
He turned to face me and we locked eyes.
Usually with other guys, I’m skittish and sometimes awkward. I wanted to get away from them as soon as I could. But with Hyunjin, I felt at peace. I felt comfortable with him, safe even.
The boy gave me a small smile and patted me on the back. He rested his head on my shoulder again.
“Your opinion always matters, and thank you. For everything.”
“It’s not a problem.” I pet his head like I’ve seen in movies. I don’t think I’ve ever comforted a guy besides my brother. And my brother did not like to get his hair pet.
I guess Hyunjin didn’t either when he shot up. I gave him a startled look.
“What-”
“It is a problem. Why do you run to everyone who needs help, y/n?”
I froze in my spot, not knowing what to say.
“Um, I don’t know. I guess I’m just good at helping people. I like comforting people. I like making people happy.” I tried to cheer him up. I did not want him to feel like he was a burden.
Hyunjin moved out of my grasp and faced me.
“Doesn’t it get tiring though? I’ve never seen you get sad about something. And you got rejected from your dream college that we’ve been talking about for years. Still, nothing.”
I laughed and looked away. This conversation was getting too focused on me and I wanted to shift the topic immediately.
“Um, well of course I get sad. It’s just I deal with my emotions better when I’m alone. I don’t mind people seeing me sad I just want alone time when I’m upset.” That was a good answer.
He wasn’t buying it though.
A calming silence washed over us for a short moment. He kicked a small rock to the side and it trickled down the steps.
“Why do I feel like that’s a cop out answer?”
I was about to give him a snarky response, but I saw the pain in his eyes. He wanted to be distracted from his pain and wanted to focus on me.
“Do you ever feel like you’re just a side character of someone else’s story?” I blurt out. Immediately, I felt like I shared too much about myself, but I couldn’t take it back.
His silence made me anxious. So anxious.
I started to shake my leg, a nervous habit I had. Suddenly, he placed a gentle hand on my leg to stop it from shaking.
“Bad habit. Also, I guess I haven’t before. Because we are actually the protagonists of our own story. Even you.” He peered deeply into my eyes to get his point across. I gave him a weak smile because I knew he wanted to cheer me up. But I didn’t need cheering up, I accepted that I wasn’t protagonist material. I accepted it a long time ago.
But he didn’t need to know that.
“You’re right. I’m being silly.”
“Oh c’mon, y/n. You’re not being silly. You’re an amazing person. Total main character material!” I raised my brow but said nothing. He knocked gently on my head. “What’s going on in that head of yours?”
So many things were going through my head. Including the fact that if I were main character material, I wouldn’t be sitting here with him right now. I’d be on some date with a cute guy. And then the whole situation would blow up in my face. And I would learn from it. And everyone would forgive me except maybe one or two people, but I would be ok with that because I learned from my mistakes and am a better person.
But that’s not me. I don’t make mistakes. I pick up the pieces of those who make mistakes. I fix them. I heal them. I’m the one who makes the main character realize they’re a shitty person.
“Too many things, Hyunjin. Too many things.” I whispered.
We said nothing for a while until he wrapped his arms around me.
“I hope your mom is ok.” I quietly said as I rested my head on his shoulder.
“Yeah, I hope so too. And I hope you realize your worth one day.”
------
‘she’s not sick!! the tests came back negative!! WOOO! party at my house... ok virutal party lol’ -hyunjin
I cheered alone in my room. The test results came back pretty quickly yet it seemed like forever ago when Hyunjin cried in my arms. And we ended up spending the whole day together after I vented my feelings to him. But that’s besides the point.
‘that’s awesome bro!!!! im so happy !!!!!!’
‘:) Thanks for being the best friend i have right now lol’ -hyunjin
I paused at the words ‘best friend’. I knew he didn’t mean best friend, but it still made me smile.
Honestly, it was pretty cool being friends with Hyunjin and I wished that we were closer friends sooner. I guess I didn’t want to get too close in case him and Ryujin broke up. I didn’t know I’d be comforting him and not her.
‘ofc. u deserve happiness hyunjin’
He didn’t respond for a couple of minutes which concerned me. He would usually tell me if he was busy, but he just left suddenly.
I tried not to think much about it so I set my phone on my table. I kept peering down at my phone every few minutes, but still nothing.
I pulled out a good book and started to read a few pages.
“y/n! I think your friend is here.”
I furrowed my brows and closed my book with a pink bookmark keeping my page.
“Friend? Didn’t know Ryujin was coming over.” I whispered. “Ok dad, I’ll be there!” I threw off blanket and opened the door. I shuffled to the front door and opened it. I ignored my dad’s weird looks as he made his way back to his room.
Once I opened the door, I saw not Ryujin, but Hyunjin.
His face was bright and I couldn’t help but smile back. His happiness was contagious, which is why he was so well-liked.
He finally fixed his hair that was getting long due to the quarantine, but it suit him. He wore gray shorts with a sweater on top.
I was suddenly aware of the gray shorts I had on.
“Hey, we’re matching.” I said lamely. He laughed with his eye smile which was his best look. “What are you doing here?”
“Wow, I’m hurt, no hello Hyunjin, I hear you come bearing good news.”
I laughed. “You texted me said good news.”
“I know, but I was wondering if you wanted to hang out right now...?” I crossed my arms and leaned against the door.
“Hyunjin, we aren’t supposed-”
“I know, I know, but I’m bored! I’m an only child too you know and I only live with my dad who hasn’t gone anywhere. And neither have I unless to see you. I know you follow the rules, so you’ve probably only seen Ryujin besides your immediate family.”
I hesitated, wondering if it was the right thing to do. My heart was saying yes, but my brain wasn’t sure.
“Just go, honey. Just be safe.” My dad’s voice boomed. I looked back and saw him giving a thumbs up.
“Really dad?” He nodded.
“Yes, but sure not to come in contact with any other people.”
I held my pinky up, and I noticed Hyunjin was holding his up too.
“Promise.”
------
The roads were so empty.
“You make me! Feel like I’m living a, TEENAGE DREAM!”
Hyunjin and I bumped to Katy Perry bops as we drove through a deserted city.
“Don’t ever look back! Don’t ever look back~”
“My heart stops!! When you look at me!” I sang.
“Just one touch, now baby I believe~” He playfully poked me.
“This! Is! Real! So take a chance and don’t ever look back~” I finished.
He turned down the volume as we reached our destination.
An empty parking lot.
“Aw, how romantic.” I joked.
“Sorry, not much places were open.” He gave me a small smile as he parked the car and rolled down the windows. We didn’t get out in case other people were around.
I unbuckled my seat belt and turned to him. He was already staring at me.
“I’m really, really happy about your mom,” I said finally. He smiled, I had never seen him this happy for almost a month now, ever since Ryujin cheated on him.
“Thank you. Also, thank you for being there when I needed you.”
I thought back to a few days ago when he was sobbing in my arms. I felt my heart shatter for him. I loved his mom too, she was always around when we were at school and was just a ball of light.
“It’s no problem.”
"Right, because you’re ‘a side character’.” He used quotation marks with his fingers to get the point across.
I rolled my eyes and pushed him. “Stop! It’s true though.”
He looked at me again, his eyes saying “explain”.
“Stop giving me that look. It’s completely obvious.”
“Tell me again, how is this obvious? Because, I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but all of your thoughts are yours. You see things from YOUR eyes, your point of view, and whatever. Your life is your life; no one else is the main character y/n.”
I hated when he said my name so much. It reminded me too much of myself. I always made sure to use people’s names in sentences to show that I knew their name and to make them feel special. I knew what he was trying to do. I hated that it was working.
“Look, if I was the main character of my own story, then why would my only purpose right now to be helping yours and Ryujin’s?”
He flinched at my words.
“What?”
I sighed, feeling uncomfortable again when the topic was focused on me.
“You know what I mean. For months now, it feels like all I do is to help Ryujin’s character development. And maybe even yours. She’s the one who makes shitty decisions, I’m the one who fixes them for her. She says stupid things, and I’m the one who makes her apologize. She even gets accepted into Seoul University, leaving me behind. I just feel like everyone is accelerating and changing while I’m static! I’m the same as I was in freshman year, sophomore, junior and now senior. I’m the same person!”
Hyunjin stayed silent while I ranted. My chest rose and fell from my heavy breathing and my cheeks were dusted with pink.
“Also, if I wasn’t a side character, would I be here, hanging out with you, to help you get over my best friend cheating on you?”
He had no response for my words. And I knew he wouldn’t because he knew I was right. I was the push to get them back together. I was probably going to get a text or a call sometime by Ryujin while she begs for them to get back together. Or to ask me to fix this whole situation.
I was right.
“You really think I ask you to hang out so much because I want your help to get over Ryujin?”
His accusing tone shocked me, and it made me nervous.
I tried not to focus on the police cars passing by and calmed my nerves.
“Um... yeah, why...”
He wasn’t looking at me initially, like he was focusing on something outside of the car.
“Y/N, I ask you to hang out so much because I like hanging out with you.” He confessed.
At my lack of words, he kept going and ran his fingers through his hair.
“Just... this is hard to say... but I-I feel like I made a mistake dating Ryujin.” He blurted. This definitely got my attention.
“What??”
“Please let me finish.” The desperation in his eyes lulled me to listen.
“We were a good couple at first, but the chemistry wasn’t there. We never clicked. We didn’t talk about the same things and we could never have a deep conversation. Everything we talked about was so surface level or about her problems. She was fun to be with and a great girl while it lasted, but it wasn’t like when we hung out, even when I was still dating Ryu, we got along better.
We could talk about conspiracy theories and weird things in history like it was normal! You were always the first one I talked to when I read a new book or if I learned a cool fact. I could never do that with her and I hate that I just realized it after we broke up. And when I started to hang out with you.
It was always you all long, y/n. It was always you.”
What on earth was going on right now? This isn’t supposed to happen. I was supposed to fix this relationship-
“Ok, I see you’re kind of freaking out. And it’s freaking me out, please say something.”
My leg wasn’t even shaking, that’s how numb I was at this conversation.
“I-” my voice trailed off, like I couldn’t get the words out.
“I have a lot to think about. I’m sorry, I can’t... I-” Tears filled my eyes. I didn’t know what was going on. This stuff never happened to me. Am I supposed to give an answer right away? That’s impossible! I need to talk to Ryujin first and maybe my brother and then just ignore the whole situation.
“It’s fine, take as long as you need.”
The drive back was silent, contrary to what it was before. I regret not taking my own car. I regret even hanging out with him in the first place.
As soon as we got to my house, I got out.
“Thanks for the ride.” I mumbled, because I still had manners.
“Hey y/n.”
I paused and turned around, mortified of what he was to say next.
“I meant everything I said when I said it has always been you. I think.. I think if you think about our memories together, you’ll see that.
I just.. I just needed you to know that.”
I nodded slowly, unsure of what to say.
Then he was gone.
-------
My first reaction was to eat my pain away, but I couldn’t even finish my banana.
Ryujin would never forgive me for dating her ex boyfriend right? That’s girl code 101. Even if she did cheat on him. Or does that cancel out if she cheated?
I downed a cup of water in anger.
“Woah, slow down there, you don’t want to drown yourself.” I slammed the cup down and glared at my older brother.
“Chan, please. I’m not in the mood right now.” I tried stomping away from him, but he kept talking. Like always.
“Uh oh, is it because of your boy? I can beat him up if you want.” I felt my cheeks turn red.
“No! Don’t beat him up. And he’s not my boy. He’s Ryujin’s.” I muttered.
“Wooo what? That’s a plot twist! Dad said he was completely smitten with you though. And Dad’s usually never wrong about boys and their feelings. He’s a therapist you know-”
“I know who my father is, thank you very much! And, ugh, God, I can’t even.” I couldn’t even make it to my room before I collapsed on the floor.
In the blink of an eye, Chan was sitting next to me. “Woah there, okay, this is some teenage angst I don’t know how to deal with anymore.”
Anger rushed through my body at his words. And I’m not sure why.
“Shut up! I don’t have teen angst! I don’t have any problems, ok? Just Ryujin cheated on this guy. And now I don’t know what to do!”
Chan was silent for a moment, unusual for a person like him.
“What? What do you mean what do you do?”
“I mean, how do I fix it?”
Chan laughed. “Fix what?”
“Fix their problems, are you not understanding what is going on here?”
Chan stood up, then picked me up. I would usually struggle but he plopped my on the couch, so I was ok with him... for now.
“Y/n, it isn’t your job to fix other people’s problems. How about you focus on your own right now?”
I peered down at my hands, embarrass to tell him what was going on in my life. I felt like such a trader. I helped my friend her whole life and suddenly, I was catching feels for her ex-boyfriend.
I opened my mouth to speak, but I got cut off my a buzz in my pocket. Then I got like 10 more. I pulled my phone out and saw the texts from Ryujin.
‘i think i made a mistake’
‘i dont like jeongin that much anymore’
‘hes not a gentleman like hyunjin!! he doesnt even pull out my chair when i sit or open doors for me. plus jeongin is lowkey childish and he is always pulling pranks on me!’
‘tell me what 2 do?? how do i fix this?!!??!!?’
‘also my parents are fighting again and it’s sooooo irritating !!!!’
‘sos 911 aaahhhh’
“Who is it? What do they say?” Chan asked curiously. I shoved him away from reading my phone.
“They’re from Ryujin. She’s already regretting dating Jeongin. The guy she cheated with Hyunjin on.” I wasn’t sure the sentence made sense, but Chan would understand.
Chan’s eyes widened. “Damn, dick move.” I gritted my teeth.
“And now, she misses Hyunjin. She says Jeongin doesn’t compare to Hyunjin who is nice and a gentleman. And her parents are fighting again. I got to go help.” I stood up to grab my keys, but Chan stopped me.
“Tell me why you were upset earlier.”
His stern voice shook me.
“Y/n, tell me.”
Suddenly, my tears were unable to hide and fell freely onto my cheeks. Chan’s face didn’t soften, but he let go of my arm.
“Tell-”
“Fine! Hyunjin told me he liked me. And that he regretted ever dating Ryujin.”
I fell down on the couch while Chan held me close. He pet my head, like I did to Hyunjin earlier. I guess that was a good comforting tactic.
“And now, Ryujin wants him back. What am I supposed to do?” I whispered.
“Do you like him back?”
I paused.
Did I like him back? I wasn’t sure...
Chan patted my back and stood. “I’m gonna make us some lunch, sit here and think about it. And don’t you dare think about responding to those texts.”
Hwang Hyunjin.
We’ve been in school together since we were kids. We saw each other grow up. We were never close, but we wouldn’t be awkward if we were paired together in a project.
He was always nice to me. He would remember my name contrary to all the boys in our grade. I faded into the background, especially when I became friends with Ryujin in the sixth grade.
We were in acapella together and we were always in the same friend groups, especially when Ryujin and Hyunjin got closer.
Everyone would yell and shout at us if we started talking about a book we just read or conspiracy theory we saw online. Or when we were both contemplating being vegan when we saw a deer get hit by a truck.
He was the one who encouraged me to wear makeup even if Ryujin told me I was shit at it. He was the one who told me I could join acapella even if I was too shy to be on stage, because he was too. He was the one who dressed up as Harry Potter characters with me when no one else wanted to. He was the one I went to when I wanted to talk about the things I loved most.
He was the one... He was the one all along.
“Oh my god. It’s always been Hyunjin. Oh my god.”
Chan set down a crappy sandwich in front of me, but I was on a mission.
“You figure it out?”
“Yes, yes I did! But what do I tell Ryujin?”
Chan scoffed. “What do you tell Ryujin? She’s the one who cheated on him. And she’s always been a crappy friend to you.” I frowned. Ryujin wasn’t the best friend, but she was my best friend...
“If she’s truly your best friend, she’ll forgive you for this. So go, go get your manz.” I cringed at his language. He was not as young as he thought.
Then, I realized something.
I looked at Chan who was just sitting on the couch, cheering me on.
“Oh my god, you’re a side character in my story.”
The made him pause before he took a bit. “Uh, ok? Aren’t we all each other’s side characters? The protag will always be ourselves, dork. Now go!”
I ran out the door and checked my phone. Those can be dealt with later. Or right now. I’m not sure. Maybe at the same time.
I jumped in my car and called Ryujin and put her on speaker.
“Hello? Y/n?? Where have you been, I texted you like 20 minutes ago! I said SOS!”
“Am I your best friend?”
“W-what? Where is this coming from? Yes, of course you are-”
“Then you’ll forgive me for anything right?”
She paused.
“Maybe. I’m not sure, you’ve never really done anything wrong.”
I gulped. You can’t back down now.
“Is everything ok, y/n?”
“I have something to tell you. And you’re going to hate me for it.”
“What?”
There was silence.
“What, y/n, seriously-”
“I have feelings for Hyunjin!” I shouted.
Dead silence. I could hear the few cars driving in my neighborhood and kids laughing outside. The silence was terrifying.
“You what?”
“I have feelings for Hyunjin. Your ex-boyfriend.”
I heard shuffling on the other side.
“Y-you can’t. He’s my ex-boyfriend. That’s breaking girl code, and I am not over him. What the hell, y/n?”
I felt tears fall from my eyes. This is not how I wanted this to go. But this is what I expected.
“I’m sorry. But my whole life, I have been living for you. Ever since I met you. And this time, I have to do things for myself. I’m sorry but I- I want to be selfish and I want to make mistakes that you’re gonna have to decide if you forgive me for.
I want to be the main character of my story right now.”
“Y/n, wait-”
I hung up the phone. I couldn’t let her get in the way of me living for me. Even if it was selfish and bitchy. I need to make mistakes to grow. And I haven’t made many ground breaking mistakes in the past, but this one feels pretty good.
I parked outside of Hyunjin’s house and ran up the steps.
Before I could knock on my door, it opened revealing a disheveled Hyunjin.
“You came.”
I was shocked at his sudden appearance, but nodded.
“I did, um, how did you get to the door so quickly?”
“I was waiting.” A cute blush danced across his face.
How have I not seen him before? For how I truly feel about him?
For a minute, we didn’t know what to say.
“I-”
“I-”
We laughed.
“You first,” he said.
I cleared my throat.
“Hyunjin, um, I’m not very good at speeches to declare my feelings. Most likely because I’ve suppressed them over the years and haven’t shown them to anybody.
I’m dumb and stupid and now I’m selfish because I don’t care what anyone thinks right now because I realized that I am falling in love with you.”
His eyes grew to the size of his hand at my words.
“What?”
I laughed nervously.
“Um, I was .. I was talking to my brother. And I just realized that every moment in my life that I was insecure or unsure of something, you helped me through it. And when I just wanted to talk about something nerdy like a book or a poem that made me cry, I wanted to talk to you.
It really has been you all along.” I whispered the last sentence, but I knew he heard it.
He took my hands and wrapped them around his waist.
“I’m falling in love with you too. I think I always have been a little, which sounds fucking up since I dated Ryujin. But I think we both knew we weren’t right for each other.”
I nodded, feeling safe in his embrace.
Then, I felt him hold my face and bent down to kiss me. His lips were soft and it felt like he was hesitant. Before I lost the courage, I pulled him closer. I could feel his smile across my lips.
He made my heart flutter like I was reading a cute romance novel.
Except I was in the romance novel now.
And I was the protagonist.

OSRR: 2583
jesus mary and joseph today has been a million years long. got to sleep after 1am, woke up at 6am, got up, showered, got dressed, left for school, stopped at dunks so my stomach wouldn't be angy all day. realized on my way there i forgot to print my parking pass. so instead of parking in the commuter lot and going to get my ID and then waiting for class, i had to park in the visitor lot, get my ID, load it with cash, search around for a computer lab, print the pass, get it to my car, move my car, park in the commuter lot, and then go to class. because of how long it took me to find a computer lab and how much time it took me to drive down the street, i was late to class.
AND THEN I COULDN'T GO IN. on campus there's a new thing that guarantees students have a negative covid result that also requires a few forms and a pledge to be vigilant about keeping one another safe as well as a recent covid test. i didn't have any of those done when i got there, so i sat in the giant echoey common area filling out forms while the professor went over the syllabus. i did some research on where to get covid tests on the school website and found where they were getting distributed so i'd be prepared to go immediately after class. i did, however, manage to take notes for class this morning. which i'm proud of.
after class i went to the room in the MUB where they were distributing tests to discover they were actually distributing them at the arena. and it's also 80°F+ and 85%+ humidity outside, so it's been disgusting all fucking morning at this point. too many stairs, up down up down up down up down over and over again. back and forth and back and forth, more stairs and just. everything. my hips hurt. my shins hurt.
anyway, it's fucking disgusting outside and i get to the arena and i immediately calm down - it's air conditioned inside because it's a hockey rink.
the floor is fucking ice.
best part of my day.
picked up tests, took one, went to go back to my car. outside of the arena is a tiny restaurant and a train station, and on the other side of the tracks is the commuter lot. but there's a fence.
so i had to go UP the stairs, ACROSS the bridge again, BACK DOWN the stairs, and TWO THIRDS DOWN the lot to get back to my car after all of this. i was so fucking hot and disgusting that i was sick to my stomach for a solid ten minutes. finally got cool enough to function, headed out.
i sent a message to my afternoon professor that i wasn't going to be able to be in class because of the wildcat pass thing, so i was able to get zoom-ed in later. so i went home.
it also cost me almost forty bucks to fill my gas tank. not happy.
anyway, i get home, i pay for the rest of my tuition, i buy my books, and i go to take a nap. i wake up for my 3pm class and end up being late because the zoom link was buried in canvas and then i can't understand the man because he has a thick french accent, was wearing a mask and a face shield (good), and was moving a lot, so i couldn't hear him. so i've decided to be online mostly for astrophysics and then in-class for comp phys. and of course in-class for the lab on thursdays. so that'll be fine, going to campus twice a week instead of four times a week.
after all that fucking fiasco of a morning, i hung out and played animal crossing, we had dinner, and later i went with hannah to get ice cream, and we came back here to the house to eat it and talk.
turns out we're both fucking exhausted from listening to our mutual friend have breakdowns every five minutes. so. i tried to be as gentle as possible but she doesn't want to face the truth that she has, in fact, been broken up with, and that her now ex-boyfriend does not want to date her anymore. she also doesn't know what she's done wrong (the list includes, but is not limited to: gaslighting, shutting down for important conversations, and being overly clingy, suffocating, and codependent, among other things). so hannah and i complained to each other.
later the friend who's been the emotional sink for both of us called me and read me her script for her talk this friday with her ex, and while it's great, he doesn't want to get back together with you. she refuses to see that. and then she asked what hannah had said, so i told her a bunch of stuff and she got mad at me for being honest so she probably thinks i was attacking her personally when i was really just trying to be as gentle as possible while being entirely sick of her shit.
so i'm still upset. i'm just glad she's muted us at this point.
i told joel about what happened, and he's like "i don't wanna deal with this" and i was like "fuckin same bro" and i love how joel and i work together. god i'm so grateful for him. i'm grateful we're independent and work well individually but still work well together and don't rely on one another for either happiness or personal fulfillment. joel is the best and i love him so many. i ask for hugs and hand holds because it's fucking important, and i will never force him into something he doesn't want to do.
part of me realizes this friend who's having problems is barely an adult at all, but that doesn't excuse her from her absolute shitty and toxic behavior.
joel is so good to me. i'm grateful for his peanut butter-loving self. he leaves glasses of ice water for me to drink and makes sure i take my meds and that i get sleep. i in turn encourage him to spend time with his friends and find activities he enjoys and take the time to do those hobbies. i make sure we have food for him at meals because he's picky. i like to make sure he's in bed at a reasonable time. we look out for one another. we antagonize each other in the best way possible and i'm so happy i have him in my life. i'm glad we picked each other.
(when i woke up this morning, i saw on the discord that FF was online but on do not disturb and i wanted to tag them and wish them a happy afternoon but i was afraid it'd be out of line. so i didn't. i miss them.)

– Being Friends with Sugawara Koushi & Nishinoya Yuu (headcanons)
a/n: these two were my instant Karasuno faves when I first started so this post is for these two.
Sugawara Koushi:
Tumblr media
It starts with a random topic of discussion. Probably few students + him are talking during lunch and you insert yourself into the conversation when they reach a specific topic.
You two instantly hit it off. Bonus points if you’re also a gemini lol. You can talk about nothing in a serious matter or just sound very breezy when it’s actually a concerning topic. Sometimes, it’s flirty talk back and forth and other few times just speaking loud and rather dramatically as if you two are each other’s nemesis. People who dont know you gets confused all the time. And sometimes they ask if you two are dating or just really close. “Dating? Oh haven’t you heard? We got engaged last week!” If they were confused before, needless to say they are completely lost now.
Memes and jokes 24/7. You’ll annoy him with lame puns and he’ll get his revenge with shitty jokes.
He seems calm and collected at first so most of the time it looks like this serene demanour cools you down. But in reality you two just fuel each other to a nonstop. Daichi hates it when it turns into an explosion.
A cafe has a special menu for couples only? You two go there to try it, depending on the order, you two can feed each other too, to take the pretending further.
Studying together at ungodly hours/places:
You hear your phone ring at 1am. “Good night, who’s this?” “Oh good, you’re up. So have you checked out [insert subject] yet? I was getting some reading done and I’m a little confused at this part...” You two end up going over the subject on the phone for hours until either the sun rises or one of you falls asleep.
“Hey, I know we said we’d study but I’m a little hungry, how about we get something to eat first?” “Sure, we can go to the library after that.” The ramen place you two went to had to kick you out bc they were closing for the day and you two were just sitting there, with empty bowls at your sides, studying...
When one of you tries cooking or baking something, you always bring the other some of what you did for tasting. “I’ll be the trusting friend I am and hope you didn’t add some rat poison to it.” “Bold of you to assume I’d spend money on poisoning you when I can find better ways to get rid of you for free.” “Ouch!”
You join his volleyball practices once in a while. Seeing him and Daichi full on parent mode is fun. So being the good friend you are, you take on the role of Vodka Aunt. Encouraging Noya, Tanaka and Hinata to do whatever dumb idea they had? Done! Joining in on Tsukki with insults? Check! Daichi kicking you out of the gym? Been there, done that!
Though on some occasions, you’ll be a full on mama bird with Suga.  Asahi is thinking too much again? It’s time to kick some sense into him, with heavy scolding and shaking your finger at him a bit too much. When the beloved trouble kids cause a ruckus or Tsukki is being petty, you two will unleash on them together. They have second guesses about some of their actions after that... Once or twice you did the “Shia Lebauf Just Do It” speech for a morale boost for your adopted vbc kids but that’s a secret between them and you.
Nishinoya Yuu:
Tumblr media
one word: chaos
How did you two become friends? Honestly, you two have no idea. It just happened one day the same way birds fly and flowers bloom, it was meant to happen.
He received endless banter when the team saw the two of you walking as you talk. “Nishinoya?? Talking to someone without bouncing around??? What are the odds?”
“Nishinoya actually has a friend of the opposite sex? Are we sure he’s not paying some girl to fool us?” OR “That must be some volleyball player we haven’t heard of before or didn’t notice at the interhighs... Right? “He has friends besides this team? Not likely, must be a trick of the light” Tsukki says this probably.
Chances are you’re taller than him and always make sure he remembers that. Endless teasing and short people puns. In return he steals your
Being friends with Noya means meeting Tanaka and soon enough becoming friends with him too. With the three of you, there are two possibilities: You all hype each other up until Daichi steps in and ends this madness. OR you taking on the “responsible one” role and trying your best to stop them from causing a problem.
Pranks. Pranks on people or each other. It’s always a mess but worth going through every single time. It’s snowing? You’ll make lots of snowballs, find a good hiding place near a popular street and throw them at random people passing by. Kids usually throw snowballs back at you and soon after starts a ruthless snowball fight. When they leave or during the fight, you two may betray one another but it’s okay at the end of the day.
Every day is an exhausting day with Noya, physically. Your energy dies out by the end of the day but your emotional state? Always in high spirits. If you have something on your mind bothering you, he’ll bring in a much invited and needed distraction to help you feel better.
Hanging out without a plan. The most you decide on is the date and the hour, you plan the rest as time goes: First the where then the what to do. You visited an amusement park together and tried out as many rides as you could at some point. You two also try to win each other those giant stuffed animals.
Being friends with him is one thing but seeing him in game is a whole another experince. You decide to surprise him by going to one of his matches but seeing them play, seeing him play and lifting everyone’s spirits is truly mesmerizing. Once you’re back to your senses, you cheer as loudly as you can for him. There’s no need to say how happy he is to see you there cheering for him and the people he consider a family.
