forgot to screenshot this one to, but an anon suggested: Hu patching up Ace after he falls off of a horse. I feel like even if Hu and Ace don't get along, she'd try to come to his games to support him once in a while as the mom of the group! (even if Ace is her least favorite child.) In like 90 degree heat she'd pull up, with enough sunscreen and waterbottles to keep everyone in a 70 mile radius hydrated and safe from skin cancer. And she wouldn't hesitate to help Ace if he gets hurt, ofc!

audio commentary of potd pt 1:
the bullet train bit at the start initially was the idea for a new years episode but they couldnt get like the sets in time so they had to rethink. the scene we see in potd was basically like the climax of that would-have-been episode
jodie: the really handy thing about these is that the masks steamed up within seconds of putting them on. fgkjhgkjgh
it's the first time mandip is seeing the episode this is like a month before they aired it? chris asks if it's like she imagined and shes like no it's way quicker (thatd be because they cut out hALF THE LINES no im kidding im kidding fghkjhh)
this episode wasnt even gonna exist? they were gonna do six episodes of flux and two specials and then when they'd just started filming flux (start of 2021?) they got asked to do another one for the centennary/to give the next team a bit more time
calling up sophie and janet to ask them to come back they both said like "i think tegan would be big friends with ace" "i think ace would be massive friends with tegan" like separately <3
about ace's costume:

during that reunion scene with ace and tegan, chris talks about how in 70s 80s doctor who and unit and how he hadnt really realised while doing it that what theyve ended up with here is that like every leading character in unit is a woman now? he talks about how like the doctor becomes a woman and you can then sort of see the full effect of that in the reunion scene here where it's just like all women
jodie about the reunion scene: i always wanted to react as 13, but then only in this episode i was met with people who had interacted with other doctors. so do you try and react in a way appropriate for them and their doctor? but i always wanted to do 13. it was always a bit complicated especially later on with the ai.
chris asked who were their favourite guest stars to work with and the entire conversation derails into just listing everyone and saying how much fun they had
jodie obviously has seen the full episode before this and she keeps teasing mandip abt it like going "oh we talked over half that scene now you have no any idea of whats going on" and then at the scene where the master talks to ace and tegan from the unit jail she slaps her like "watch this watch this watch this this is a good bit watch this!" and they watch a bit in silence and then chris goes "you just shushed her in a commentary to go 'watch this this is a really good bit'"
it's specifically the bit where ashad grows and all the cybermen come out and mandip goes "oh that is good" and then she goes "you know like those russian dolls you get where they all fit inside each other" and jodie goes "thats what it is" and chris goes "thats the plot" im looosing it
jodie slapping mandip again about the rasputin scene "watch this" they watch a bit of the scene and then chris giggles and mandip goes "whens his bit coming on"

6-Cole would help morro getting used to human body again and would learn alot about morro(good things)

Summary: an unscheduled flight sends Geralt and Jaskier into a bitchfit... but maybe Jaskiers one is justified.

A/N: if i was a dragon i would o100% fuck with jaskier. And im not even sorry. I hope you get a little giggle out of this.
"For fuck sake morganna!!" Geralt swore, tumblingnoff of you as you landed heavily on the plateu of a grey slate mountain. Batti gnyour wings a few times clearing some of the sharper rubble from under your feet.
"I could have handle it!" You rolled your eyes at the pissy witcher. Honestly somtimes to 70 year old acted like a fucking child. Huffing and puffing in a hissy fit when you interrupted one of his battles.
You snorted at him, blowingnhhis hair about his face and smirked at him. He squinted and growled before pointing at you. You grinned him and hpgave a low chortle. Laughing at his display.
"Dont you look at me like that! I had everything under control" you grumbled and released a traumatised looking roach from your front talloned foot. You felt a little sorry for the mare as she wobbled away a few steps and then laid down wanting to be acs close to the ground as she could be.
"Geralt, leave her be. She got us out safely thats what matters" yennefer spoke slipping down from your shoulder landing with a light thump before turning helping ciri down.
"Shes scared the shit out of roach! Look shes lying down! They're not meant to do that!" Geralt cursed waving a hand towards the poor horse that looked very queasy.
"Geralt?" Ciri spo,e with a frown looking around the clearing and then toom a few steps back riseing to her tippy toes and scanned your back.
"Roach will be fine, its not the first time shes been air lifted" yennefer offered trying to placate the witchers bitch fit.
"Err geralt?" Ciri called againnto her soul father now sou dog a little panicked.
"Its not good for her, or us! Especially when shes not giving us warning! Morgannayou cant just shift and snatch us up like that!" Geralt bickered befor turning to you scolding you. It was quite funny. Geralt trying to chide a freakishly large black iridescent dragon.
"GERALT!" Everyone paused and turned to ciri as she shouted.
"Where jaskier?" Your eyes light up playfully as ciri asked for the bards where abouts.
"What? He right... err he was... fuck me did you forget to grab jaskier?!" You shook your head and smiled sheepishly under the witchers amber gaze before looking away, avoiding his eyes and tighened your lips.
"No? Then where? Oh you didnt" geralt stopped himself and shook his head at you half amused, half annoyed. He was trying so hard not the chuckle at you.
"Didnt what?" Yennefer asked teresly stepping beside geralt eyeing you curiously. She was not worried for the bard. No. She didnt worry abotu him, he was a big boy. She was? Concerned? Ciri loved her uncle jaskier and would be upset if anythig happened to him.
"Open." You grumbled and turned your head away from the stern witcher and whined.
"No, do not start with me. Show me" gerlat insisted clasping onto one of your smaller protuding horns and gave a tiny shake. Your head didnt even move, but hais point was clear.
"Open your mouth now" it was at this point yennefer and ciri shared a look before bursting out laughing. Geralt managed to curb his amusment and continued to order you to 'spit it out' li,e a pup that had caught a farm chicken, or toddler who had put bugs in its mouth.
"Spit him out. Spit it out now. Drop him. Drop my bard" geralts voice grew
"Im warning you, spjt my bard out now or you will not be be no huntig for an entire week!" That did it. The threat of not shifting and helping geralt hunt for a week was too much of a risk. Ou loved being able to stretch yourwings and prowl the skies before hunting down prey for your new weyr.
Finally you opened your mouth and spat out the bard that youd kept safely and sound pinned to the roof of your mouth with your tongue.
"Ugh thank god! I thought she was going to swallow!" Jasker screeched as he stumbled onto the ground and fell onto all fours.
"The hell is wrong with you! I could have died!" The bard squalling continued as he moved his hands over hi,self trying the get your spit off his pretty puffy clothes. You snorted at him. He was so dramatic.
"You were fine, she doesnt eat gristle. And youd taste like shit" yennerfer smirking as jaskier was cussing and whining.
"Huh? Excuse you! I am prime beef! tender and lean thank you very much!" You scoffed at jaskiers argument before transforming back into your human form and moved to the packs to grab your clothes.
"Ive seen more meat on a chicken leg" yennefers teasing words only made jaskier gasp. Clearly insulted.
"I promise i wouldnt have eaten you jaskier" you said stepping closer to the group relaxing jnto your human form. Running your fingers through your hair and tying it up in a large lose bun.
"See she appriciates how important i am to society. People need me!" You laughed out loud shaking your head at him as he shouted his victory whilst pointing to you.
"No. Its just human meat tastes like salty chicken. I dont like it" you shrugged befpre sitting on the ground dragging on your boots.
You didnt notice the silence that fell over the group as your words sank in. It was only after laceing your boots you looked up to see them all staring at you shocked and a little frightened.
"What?"
"Youve eaten people?" Ciri asked unsure what to think. It wasnt something she had really thought about before. And the way youd been so casual about mentioning it? It was a little creepy.
"Well a few?.... i mean once or twice.... you know curiosity and accidents" you shrugged not really seeing a big deal. Most dragons have eaten humans once or twice. Many had no choice humans tried hunting them as young drakes as a show of strenght and courage, you only had fire, talons and teeth at your disposal. It was quicker to bite.
"How do you eat someone accidentally?" She asked sarcastically
"It... happens. We get attacked young and bite. And then we dont spit it out. Its nature i am a carnivore"
"Im more concered about the curiosity bit? You ate someone out of curiosity?" Jaskier asked the same disbelieving sarcasm dripping from each word.
"Oh what because youve never munched on man meat out of curiosity?" You huffed feeling slightly attacked. But you told yourself they couldnt help it. Your kind was rare now, humans dont understand your nature as they once did.
"Probably not in the way you meant it" ciri snorted laughing trying toease the tension. She could see you were getting upset.
"Cirilla!" Geralt scolded quickly trying not to smile at the teens quick comment. But ciri rolled her eyes at the witcher and defended herself.
"What you were thinking it too"
"She's not wrong" yennefer hummed nodding in agreement.
"Why does everyone insist i've slept with men! Im straight! I like women!" Jaskier complained alittle too quickly to be believed.
"Your dreams would say otherwise" yennefer snipped back with a smirk on her face. You and ciri chuckled.
"My what? Have you been snooping again!?" The bard yelped horrified at the idea of yennefer peaking into his dreams again. He quickly stood up to face the mage.
"No, you talk in your sleep" you added deciding to get in 0n the fun. Thats all this was, fun. Jaskier was easy to set of. Wind him up and watch him go. It was one of your and yennefers favourite ways to pass the time.
You watched as they all seemed to relax and shh away from the subject. You were relieved , for a second there a small part of you had been worried theh would turn on you. But even so you wanted to reassure them all.
"Trust me id never eat any of you.... and if i did jaskier would be safe." You admitted before smirking and pokeingmmore fun at jaskier.
"Whats that supposed to mean?!" You rolled your eys and waved over his damp form. The once puffy sleeves no drooping acros his shoulders showing hos slim frame.
"Well? Your slim pickings.... Honestly? Geralt would be my first choice. Lots of muscle. Then yennefer, ciri and roach. Youd be my last option... i'd need to be really desperate" you summarised with a shrug.
"You'd eat a fucking horse before me?!" Of course thats what he focused on.
"I want to know why she'd eat me geralt and yennefer before roach?" Ciri chirpped foldjngnher arms across her chest almost insulted by your menu preferences.
"Have you seen him when someone fucks with his horse? No thanks. Horse isnt the worst meat in the world but i dont want it to be my last meal." You pointed to geralt who had wandered nesxt to roach and gpbegan petting her neck.
"Can we please stop talking about eating roach? She can hear you, you know" geralt sighed from beside the horse before muttering to the ,are under his breath. 'Let the dragon tag along they said, it'll be fun they said. Now look traumatised mare traumatised bard and im now on a snack menu'

1: when did you first watch/discover good omens, and how did you find out about it?
I heard about it when s1 came out, but didn't watch it. Only saw a gif of the tarmack scene before satan shows up and went "oh hey its david tennant."
at the beginning of august, right after s2 came out, my partner @novelcain said we should watch it (and mentioned it very causally cuz they knew i was neck deep in lego monkie kid brainrot). We watched it all in 2 days and I've never had a fixation grab me by the throat so fast 😂
(novel also saw spoilers for the kiss and a few other things but specifically kept it to themself and acted surprised so i would get the full effect <3)
3: have you created any fanart or fanfiction, or really any content for the fandom?
yep! I've made fanart and fics for the series and for au's. If im awake, theres a 70% chance I'm thinking of some kind of fic idea. no, thats not an exaggeration
11: what is (if you read) your favorite type of human au for good omens? (ex. coffee shop au, surgeons au, plant store au)
i honestly dont read many human au's cuz I like the angel demon stuff from canon, but all of @mrghostrat's human aus are my favs. If i had to pick one of his, I'd probably say streamer au :3 (bnf is a very very close second tho)

oh its be absolutely amazing here for me. I've heard about the discourse second hand, and have only seen a handful of bad things myself. everyone ive interacted with personally have been very kind <3

It was your first day at the coven. you had flew all the way from London to New Orleans after seeing Cordelia Goode at the television. You have always been the ‘weird’ and ‘different’ kid. It took you years to realize that your weirdness, was actually a great power inside of you. Your family didn’t always understand you, and that why you were happy to leave. As you got out of the taxi with your luggage’s and walked towards the big white house, you had second thought. ‘is this a good idea?’ ‘do i belong here?’ ‘what if they don’t like me?’ you pushed the thought aside and knocked on the door. The door opened slowly. A girl with light brown hair and black suit was standing behind the door, smiling at you.
“Im Zoe Benson, you must be y/n l/n?”
You nodded. You really liked her outfit but didn’t dare to say it. she opened the door a but more letting you in. She showed you your room and after that she led you to Cordelias office. Her office wasn’t anything big, just a room with table and chairs, and couple plants.
“Cordelia, this is y/n.”
Cordelia looked at you with a faint smile.
“nice to meet you, please take a seat.”
you say down and Zoe left the room, closing the door behind her.
“You must have seen us in the TV, what makes you think that you’re a witch?”
It took you a while to process the question but finally you answered.
“Uh, when i was around 6 years old, i realized I have the power of telekinesis. I accidentally lifted my friend up using my powers, without realizing. I had to move after that because eher mother got scared of me haha..”
Cordelia looked at you.
“can you show me?”
she took a book from under her desk and place dit on the desk in front of you. You focused on the book and your powers, used your hand. and the book started floating.
“Good, thats enough.”
Cordelia said and put the book back under the desk.
A while later you got to meet the other girls. You got some new friends, such as Mallory. you didn’t have a roommate, which meant you were going to spend most of your time alone studying.
You were getting closer to the last class of your first day, resurgence / nature class. as your teacher you had Misty Day. The class was outside, so you walked out together with Mallory. The second you saw Misty, her hair and her angelic smile, you felt safe. She smiled at you.
“You must be the new girl yeah?”
She had a faint Louisiana accent and a part ethereal beauty, part goth, all 70's bohemian aesthetic.
“Oh yes im y/n.”
you smiled softly.
“Alright everyone come here, lets get todays class started. We are going for a walk.”
Misty said. you could hear the groans and ‘No’s’ coming around the group, but you felt happy.
You felt calm and relaxed after the walk. You said bye to Mallory before you went back to your own room. you felt so happy and free. you had took your record player with you. you set it up before putting on some Stevie Nicks. You had her album as a vinyl called Bella Donna. You started studying at the same time as you listened to the music.
after a while you heard a knock at your door. you got up and opened it. it was Misty. you knew it from her beautiful wavy hair and her style.
“Oh hello miss, you need something?”
you asked. she started laughing.
“Oh no, i just heard Stevie Nicks? you like Stevie? I absolutely love her! Also you can just call me Misty.”
You admired her cute Louisiana accent, it made you feel so warm and welcome.
“Oh yes i love Stevie too!”
you said. She had clearly noticed how much you like her and how comfortable you felt around her.
“If you ever wanna hang out and listen to Stevie / Fleetwood mac together, just come to me.”
she said laughing. You felt so safe, so comfortable. You couldn’t even clearly explain the feeling.
“Of course!”
You said, sounding a bit excited.
“Well i must go now, come talk to me whenever you want!”
She gave you a small smile before leaving the room.
For the rest of the evening, the only thing you could think about was Misty. Her Louisiana accent, her style, her wavy blonde hair, her ‘smoky eye’ makeup and her Green-ish blue eyes. She was so pretty. So comforting.
You started spending more time
with misty. your birthday was getting closer and she had gifted you tickets to see Stevie, with her, during her concert. The concert was getting closer. You were daydreaming during Misty’s class.
“Now listen, this is important.”
she said to everyone. you finally started listening to her. you were all outside at the swamp this time during her class.
“Spells are much more than a series of arcane words. It's the power you bring to those words that makes the magic. What spells do you know?”
She asked. Multiple people had their hands up, you kept yours down this time.
“Divination, the power to acquire knowledge about an object, person, or location without the user's physical senses!”
“pyrokinesis, the ability to create, control and manipulate fire!”
“Telekinesis, The ability to manipulate objects with the power of your mind!”
“Transmutation, The ability to move instantaneously from one location to another without physically occupying the space in-between!”
“Resurgence, the ability to bring back the dead!”
You gave a long sigh, these were all the basic ones.
“Y/n do you know any spells?”
she asked you. you were surprised but answered anyways.
“Vitalium vitalis, reverse spell. Descensum, The ability to descend into the netherworlds of the afterlife. and just the basic seven wonders.”
She looked at you surprised, clearly not expecting for you to know these ones.
“excellent!”
She said smiling at you. You were clearly her favorite student.
The day of the concert you were getting ready in your room. You finally got ready and heard a knock on the door.
“Y/n we must go, we dont want to be late! i also habe a surprise for you after the show!”
You walked out of your room, fully ready to leave.
“Let’s go then!”
You arrived at the concert place, it was still pretty empty. Misty had got you seats from the front row. You bought some snacks and then sat down on your seats. the concert was about to start already. Stevie opened the concert with her song ‘Edge of seventeen.’ You really liked the song.
You and Misty had fun at the show, and after wards Misty told you to close your eyes. you closed your eyes and misty led you somewhere. as you finally opened your eyes, you were at the backstage, and there she was. Stevie Nicks was standing in front of you.
“Oh my- Misty is this real??”
You gasped.
“Yes y/n, me and Stevie are friends!”
You hugged misty as you felt some happy tears roll down your cheek.
“I really cant believe this!”
you said.
You and Misty spent time with Stveie before going back to the School. You had certainly had the best day of your life, with your comfort person.

June 2023 Brawl Talk
OH FUCK DANI IS IN THE BACKROOMS!!!!!!
more below the cut!
the new brawler this season is Cordelius, a, um..... mushroom, guy...? they say he was a gardener in starr park, but the toxicity of the place drove him mad; now he's stuck there. oh shit thats LORE!!!!!! nothing we didnt already know but wow!!!!
most of his kit isnt a whole lot; his main attack seems a little on the weaker end, but he is very fast to make up for that. on top of that, his super transports himself and whomever he hits to another dimension where they fight... TO THE DEATH!!! however, the odds are most definitely in his favor, as he gains a speed(!) and reload speed boost while his opponent can't use any gadgets or supers.
there's also spore mind cordelius, the tier 70 brawl pass skin, but frankly i dont care about it. blah blah blah another evil tier 70 brawl pass skin. this is like the third one we've gotten so far, right?
this skin (haunted house 8-bit) sucks dookey im not talking about it.
STONE TROLL LOU IS AWESOME THOUGH!!!! but its the power league skin *among us sound effect*
i actually quite like wood spirit chester. the face reminds me of el muneco from guacamelee 2 :) might not go out of my way to get it however.
finally...
ughhhh i could talk about my gripes with this skin now, but i'll save that for another post. tldr its a fun design but its also a big day for annoying people
there are more skins coming in The Summer of Pirates (keeping to the theme of summer of x) but i dont really care for any of them enough to cover here. which is funny considering griff and surge both got skins for this event.
its time for the best fucking part of this brawl talk though DOUG!!!!!!!!!!!! FUCK YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hes actually so awesome and looks so fun to play mechanically. plus i looooove hot dogs WAIT THATS WHY HES NAMED DOUG BECAUSE. BECAUSE THE THE THE HOT DOG!!!!!!!!!
mechanically he has a range similar to (maybe a little smaller than?) jacky, but with attacks like byron. that is, they both heal and hurt. there's also a bit of a point-blank mechanic in play where the closer everyone is to doug, the more health they gain/lose. i also noticed that the healing and damage arent 1:1, which actually makes me a little peeved since they refuse to do something similar for byron. but its whatever though (-:
moving on, he is the first brawler in the game that is able to revive others and himself! wait what about 8bit with extra life?? ...anyway, his super functions very similarly to gus, but replace the shield with a revive effect. of course, this revive effect doesnt last forever! i noticed that brawlers dont drop their gems if they get revived though, which sounds like he will be really good in gem grab. maybe. idk.
theres also the obligatory recolor skin draco doug. not much to talk about with that though <3
not to mention skin remodels! dark tide carl, iris tara (now stara), smuggler penny, and phoenix crow!!! wow!!! bonnie is also getting some 29 gem skins, unicorn bonnie and footbonnie (LIKE FOOTBALL. GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF THE GUTTER!!!)
finally, the moment some of you have been waiting for...! ARE! BOXES! RETURNING!!!

i audibly cheered when they said that. however the mechanics are coming back in their own unique way. its in a way that i feel is a lot less predatory, so im overall happy with this, er... rework...?
introducing starr drops! you earn drops through winning matches (any kind of match counts) that can range from rare to legendary, much like the brawlers. you also get four chances to upgrade these drops, but the chances seem very small. drops can give resources, brawlers, pins, sprays, icons, and even skins! small caveat, only skins purchasable with bling that are not limited can be rewarded.
they also go into some stuff about how this is an overall buff to resource gain. i'll take their word for it :)
some extra stuff! payload is back, but the payloads themselves have no collision (basically meaning you can walk/shoot through them now. like hotzone but the zones move). takedown my beloved and wipeout my despised are back in rotation. quests can now be completed with more than one (but not every) brawler. speaking of quests, premium quests can now be progressed, even if you havent purchased the premium brawl pass. this makes it all the more sweet when you purchase the brawl pass after the beginning of the season :D
finally, paula is going to be leaving the brawl stars team. i wish her all the best <3

could you describe us Douman's personality according to your own understanding? (i mean, with all this heels thing, he seems childish, but i love it)
oh man this is hard describing personalities is the one thing im worst at
(im taking "douman" as both his persona 1000 years ago and now)
the heels thing, I can totally understand, as a tall person whose only personality trait is being tall.
(and speaking of tall characters good god all the regularly appearing guys are so tall basically everyone is way above average height for asians)
i accidentally wrote an essay so im putting it under read more
In general
well, first of all, if i had to say in one sentence, he acts and tries to be serious but he's also not above participating in tomfoolery and being the butt of a joke (its a comedy manga after all)
like here from sports day
for all that he wears a mask, he's one of the easier characters to get a read on (aka know what hes thinking) whether he's being honest or lying or tsundere
funny enough, the one moment i couldn't get a read on him at all was right after he killed seimei
actually if you'll notice, that scene had douman's face super concealed most of the time, either by the blood or his hair, or just turning his head away from us.
which wasn't the case at all for ch89, where his face was totally visible the whole time, up until he killed seimei.
funny enough x2, the character thats most IMPOSSIBLE to read is seimei. this man is INSCRUTABLE
i think it'll be useful to break down the different faces the principal shows to different people (or, "who other people think he is")
on a scale of principal to douman, there's:
principal (public persona)
principal, in private (who he is to the teachers etc)
acchan (who he is to ranmaru)
douman (who he was 1000 years ago, and who byakko etc see him as)
The Principal
the first two can be differentiated by whether the mask is totally covering his face
how much of his face is shown is also correlated with how much personal investment he has in the situation
the "who other people think he is" definition is also important. for example, for most of chapter 1, when he's interacting with haruaki, his mask totally covers his face, reflecting how haruaki's scared, and also how us as readers don't know what to make of this guy yet. but at the end of the chapter, when he's giving an extremely personal description of haruaki in front of the other teachers who he's also more familiar with, he takes the mask off.
also importantly, check out the 3 whole versions of this one scene.
this is 3 whole versions of how he’s presenting himself, in one situation.
i’m inclined to believe ch1 is POV principal, ch92 is POV haruaki, and the one in yoseito what objectively happened.
he’s presenting himself as a professional, as the “principal”. to haruaki, he’s unfamiliar, and the mask is probably the most stand-out thing about him. objectively, he probably can’t help but have personal investment in all this.
also, let's look at these 3 pages from ch33
you can see his thought process going from "wait, like, me personally?" to "ok gotta be grown-up and mature about this"
(also sidenote, izuna's speech bubble on that 3rd page is a tl error, it's more like "he's treating us? is there going to be a typhoon next week or something?" that kind of tone)
also of note is his mask itself, which is an Okina mask from Noh theater. the Okina play is one of the oldest plays still considered Noh theater, originating around the Nara or Heian period, from Noh theater's predecessor sarugaku. the play itself is more like a ritual or ceremony, a prayer for peace. the mask itself is the soft smile of a deity symbolising peace, bountiful harvests, and long lives. of note is the fact that the performer dons the mask onstage as part of the performance, "becoming" the god.
im sure you can see how this is quite relevant to who he is as the principal of hyakki.
this exchange from ch 70 is also very interesting, because he’s showing his face this whole time. looking at it now, it’s because he’s entirely confident that haruaki would be able to pull it off from the outset. he is a gambler after all, as much as that’s played for jokes. he talks a whole lot, but it’s ultimately just to pressure haruaki into pulling it off properly. as such, his investment in this situation is entirely personal, instead of professional.
in that sense, i suppose him taking off his mask to threaten haruaki means the threat is coming from him personally, rather than him as the principal and his boss. i’m curious to know what other people’s read of this scene is, him taking off his mask is an interesting move, even if it was just for dramatics
i also wonder if the dramatic shading we see obscuring his face is also actually happening, obscuring his face from haruaki. in ch 88 little memory-aki says “that appearance, the principal?!”, the word used for appearance in japanese is almost always used for specifically clothes/figure, rather than face.
Acchan
the principal and ranmaru are especially complicated. theyre exes. theyre besties. theyre fighting. theyre kissing.
at least for a short while before the events of the main story, it seems like they didnt have much contact, considering principal had to ask ranmaru what name he was going by in ch61, when they’d already met twice (vol 4 kidnapping and ch33), he just never bothered to ask i guess.
at least in vol 4, ranmaru was actually pretty openly disdainful towards principal (probably bc he got ghosted for years)
in ranmaru’s eyes, “acchan” is probably somewhere in the middle of “principal” and “douman”, maybe even the 3rd corner of a triangle graph
on the principal’s part, it seems like he’s trying to keep ranmaru distant, at least at first. this is someone who knew him as douman, after all. every single interaction they have, he starts out with his guard totally up and as soon as he lets down his guard a little bit ranmaru gets under his skin and they fall into something like a routine. in terms of ability to get under his skin, ranmaru is basically second only to seimei.
there’s also the fact that they’re such similar people. they keep going to the same brothels/pachinko parlors, for example. this is probably also how ranmaru is so good at getting under his skin.
i think all this can be summarized by the way ranmaru calls him “acchan” and introducing himself as “ran-chan”, then principal going for the more distant “ranmaru-san” instead, because thats who ranmaru is to “the principal”, regardless of who ranmaru is to him as a person.
this all serves much the same purpose as his mask, I think. to distance himself from who he was as “douman”
Ashiya Douman
to be clear, it’s not like any of these faces are any more or less “real” or “fake”. they’re all the “real” principal
“douman” is.... complicated
even within the name “douman”, there’s a few versions:
who he is when his mask breaks
who byakko etc think he is
who he was 1000 years ago
though, it’s not like he turns into a whole different person when his mask gets broken, he just holds himself in a slightly different way, especially because he’s in front of byakko.
these two pages can really be picked apart.
he first appears with his face slightly showing, because that’s who the students see him as, and who he presents himself as to the students. a familiar, reassuring face.
then when he addresses byakko the mask is totally covering his face, distancing himself. he’s desperately trying to keep up the facade for as long as possible. i’m the principal, he says, look at my cute narration box! he wasn’t getting out of this with his secrets intact and he knows it.
he tries to keep up the facade, and for good reason. byakko and the other gods have stayed the same this past 1000 years, and as much as he’s changed, he’s also stayed the same in ways
his mask getting broken especially brings the point home. he can change the way he dresses, he can change the way he talks, but his face is not just the same as it was 1000 years ago, but specifically as it was the moment he killed seimei, and that’s all he is to byakko.
(and he does change the way he talks, by the way. you kinda have to hold yourself with some formality as a principal in the modern day, whereas 1000 years ago he talked in this kinda brash and vaguely disrespectful way about everything, and addressed seimei and suzaku without honorifics)
(though it could also be because of familiarity. in which case, “ranmaru-san” is like 10 steps down in familiarity from not using honorifics at all.)
as for who douman was 1000 years ago, it’s a bit hard to define because we really only get to see two scenes, and both are in relation to seimei.
i would try to define him by way of defining who seimei is to him, but because seimei is so inscrutable i don’t know how to do that.
what i do know, is that i don’t buy his spiel in ch90 at all
while i do think it’s not entirely a lie, it’s also not the entire truth.
as much as he acted tsundere about it, he clearly had some respect for seimei, otherwise he would not let him get under his skin that easily.
they were clearly friends to some degree, otherwise he wouldn’t be “always so obsessed with seimei”, as ranmaru puts it.
which, i am all the more curious, who haruaki is to the principal. did he see him as seimei at one point? does he still? i wonder if there’s an intentional parallel in who amaaki is to the students, to who haruaki is to the principal and ranmaru.
In Conclusion
uhhh TLDR, principal is my scrimblo, my blorbo, my meow meow, i care him a whole lot, i think hes a super fun character

started watching p5t consensus seems that's it's on par with other persona sidegames so alright but not good on its own. seems like its taking the worst of p5 aping on the language of revolution while not engaging with any sort of actual rebellion. with its like middleschool understanding of the french rebellion nobles evil rebels good. shame i like grid tactics games guess it'd time to watch a playthrough and see for myself.
lavenza looks older. like in p5 she was like half joker's height. but she also looked like a child because yald was messing with her power so maybe this is closer to her true appearance.
wtf. why does his chibi make him look older. his chibi looks like 45 but his full sprites make him look like he's in his 20s.
wedding ring as slave collar. huh.
...this is all an elaborate capture the flag game.
Toshiro acts like he's 45. but he's the youngest diet member so i think he's between 28-36.
Getting the impression toshiro is the main character of this game. Everything in the collective unconscious related back to him. The thing i cant figure out is how erina relates to him.
I do like how the war general is going around looking like buddha and talking like a love cult thats christianitys deal.
Been wondering the party treats the little hat dudes as normal so I've been wondering if they see them as humans and the generic sprites was for the audience or if they actually are little hat dudes and everyone is cool with that.
Hmm so erina is some version of toshiro's highschool classmate that explains why she's phantom thief age. But why was she in the first world?
Yeah this is all toshiro all the way down. Finished with the school and so far tactica hasn't really impressed me.
What is UP with makoto's characterization in this game. The others are mostly fine but for her the violence anger gag is like half her character here damn tactica writers hate makoto.
Oh eri lived thought she was dead dead for a minute. What with erina's whole deal.
And since eri isnt actually here to affect things this is all from how toshiro sees things. That means he forgot or couldn't accept what eri actually said (rude).
Huh this shadows eyes are white (inverted). Weird because in the first curscene they were yellow but every appearance afterwards has been white.
Oh i like that take for erina. Whats interesting is this is the only example i can think of where the user and persona are different genders. In most instances if the persona user is female the persona is feminine and if the user is male the persona is masculine, with a few more gender neutral persona designs in the mix.
Look im all for fighting gods but this feels a little forced.
P5T is meh. It's mid for persona side games which themselves are not as good as the main games. Tactica has fun interactions if someone already likes the p5 cast but beyond that it doesn't have much. Story is kinda weak i mean it's ok but there's also not really anything really engaging about it. I did like how it was essentially a toshiro vignette instead of trying to juggle multiple characters and stories, nice and focused.
It seems dlc is another entirely separate side story (a side story to a side story) but maingame didn't impress me with it's writing so i probably won't look into this. I kinda want to play tactica because i like tactics games but no way is this game worth $60? 70?, It's worth like 15$ maybe 20.
Hold up you telling me toshiro's persona is THE CHE GUEVARA. and they queered his gender and turned him into a woman.

a little night music
okay i dont know this one so im gonna make up a plot and if it doesnt go like this ill be pissed/hj
im just basing it on the album so i have an outline of the story (not cheating btw) all the paragraphs are like per song cuz thats logical
okay come with me to early 1900s, somewhere in europe, where there is a great party goin on and our two main characters are dancing, lets call them Daisy and Robin, theyre both young women (very important). its a ball and everyones having a jolly good time, dancing, drinking theyre all feeling very gay ;)
then they go to a private place, it feels like it could be a balcony, and they talk bout how they feel bout this relationship and how it would go now later and soon,
now that we know them we get the Glamorous life, we focus on daisy seemingly happily married ,now that its like 1913, oh life's wonderful and i love it all kinda song, while shes preparing for a dinner with an old friend she hasnt seen in a while
the first guest arrives, a handsome gentleman and they have a conversation about that ball and how Daisy must remember this old friend, she doesnt but after some more talking she relizes that its her old lover Robin.
alas the second guest arrives, Robins wife, Robin absolutely adores her and has a whole song bout her, yes the wife knows robins not a "man" but protects this secret with her life.
they talk about their relationships some more reminice about the past as the wife has gone off to bed, idk what happened to the husband maybe hes out, transition to a flashback scene done by dancers of the young Daisy and Robin.
more reminicing bout the gay old days of being in love with a woman, while the dancers portray scenes of the past, this all ends with a kiss thats first one on the cheek but then one on the mouth thats waaaay longer then it should be.
end of act one
a few weeks later and Daisy cant stop thinking bout the kiss, she initated, she relizes how much shes been suppresing herself and how much she dislikes the traditional live and that it makes her die a little everyday.
so she decides to invite Robin and her wife for a weekend out into the country where they talk about their feelings again and how maybe she wants to get away from her husband.
and cuz Robins rich they have a record player, or whatever they used in the day to play recorded music, and they have a nice little dance that is the same as in act one, this is all hapening at night while wondering what will happen when the day breakes and they need to go back to their partners
life goes on and on and eventualy we get to Daisy who is very old now that its like the 70s and the community is starting to come up of women who arent in the traditional life and she thinks how wonderful it would have been to live like that for her whole life.
then as she deteriorates health wise she waits in joyfull anticipation for a chance to be reunited with her lover in heaven, where they will be free of expectations of love
yeah thats prolly not it but it would be a good one

Realizes he's aromantic asexual in middle school. Everyone else was going on about romance and dating and all that other stuff, and all he cared about was science.
Was the one lecturing people in elementary school about why certain super powers can't be real and crushed the hopes and dreams of those wanting lazer vision
Would secretly leave Taiju money or other things he needed but pretended he had no idea where they came from
Since hes the definition of aroace, his gaydar is never wrong
Tried to figure out if he could turn himself into a robot as a kid, it did not work
Speaking of robots, he had robot pj's up until he was 11 in which he traded them for science ones
His experiments would make stay up late into the night, so naturally, he developed a taste for energy drinks.
At night he will sometimes think of Byakuya and remember all the memories he has with his dad, he might try to act like the man was embarrassing and all, but deep down hes a kid who never got to say goodbye to his dad
The only two people he can fully confide in are Taiju and Yuzuirha
While its common for kids who are adopted to want to know about their biological parents, he doesnt. He had Byakuya after all, and Byakuya is his dad, nothing else matters.

But whats wrong with noticing that certain characters in Dr.STONE are ASD coded? Like everyone accepts that Ryusui has ADHD but being autistic is something bad right? News Flash it isnt. Also show me where in the manga that Sai and Yuzuriha dont show traits of autism? i feel explaining to you would be a waste of energy but just know this is only going to make my post on it even longer cause holy fuck the beginning will now have a rant about people like you. Ok but i really need to know what people have against aroace characters? Like theres nothing wrong with any character being aroace but for some reason it just causes others to be so upset and for what? Ive seen it with mostly One Piece and The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. Luckily havent seen it as much with Dr.STONE or at least on tumblr. The number of people ive blocked on tiktok for getting upset about Senku being CANONICALLY aroace is ridiculous. But yeah can someone just explain this to me? Cause aroace exist and we do deserve to have our representation in media and not in the "oh im rude because im aroace and thats my only personality" way. But in a way where we ardnt dehumanized for not feeling romantic or sexual attraction.

I think the way I feel towards them and their boyfriends, is how they may as well. I will always hold a soft spot for their boys for as long as they care and love them. I trust that they're smart enough to choose good people, which means that even if I wasn't on good terms with them, I'd still believe they're a good person. Maybe that's how they approach it... Or they just like you because they can see your sincerity and can easily see how amazing you are... To say you're not worthy of something like this is ridiculous...
I understand it can be surprising to see them act this way and you're reasonable for not expecting them to fully accept you, in fact maybe we'll find that they won't mind you in the family but would prefer if you don't do dad duties (not that it's necessarily the case, just an example). as for the actual list i must preface it with an interesting fact that i have not, in fact, seen most of these films fully. THANKS TO SMOKTUN TO BEGIN WITH i simply do not watch full movies with my faves anymore and the tragic backstory to this does not hide in points 2 and 3 above. how do his roles there are your favorites then, you may ask? thats because get on my level actually.
for the incorrect reasons, uncle vanya the movie. incorrect because i dont actually like the movie, i hate chekhov, i dont understand the play because i couldnt care less, but the film in particular was just so well shot man. the colors were poppin sooo bad, and the smoktun aesthetics are simply the BEST. like this is my preferred smoktun look forever, the beard and the hair and the colorful tie and the blue eyes holy shit. the 70s were such a blossoming time for smoktun enjoyers, everyone saw the light with this look. plus yea, this movie came pretty late in my smoktun career so it was oh so refreshing to see some good fucking acting again. i dont like the movie yet i'd always watch it, thats the power of the simp.

4. the legend of till i think it's called? also havent seen this one fully but his introduction, the very first frame, consisted of him literally sucking on tits as he was told his wife gave birth to an heir. im only yet to be blasted with an intro just as powerful ever since. sure his 3 appearances there were charmin n shit but seeing him go to town there like that is when i knew this man is utterly fearless. just for tits alone it's here on this list
5. the princess on the pea, once again not seen this one fully, but him being bullied by freindlich who plays his wife, and just be a general L dad whomst everyone is rolling eyes at was just so fun to watch. just a leetle scrungly hasban helpin out his wife and son <3

⭒ haikyuu x exam season ⭒
Daichi- when i say he is the MOODIEST person when studying. It’s all fun and games until you interrupt him one too many times and he fucking explodes. Needs 2 chill
Suga- his goal in life is to be an aesthetic studyblr like this man will go and get iced coffee, order the prettiest stationary and then spend 20 minutes organising it for his instagram. As for ACTUALLY studying? He’s amazing at it. Literally the person we all aspire to be
Asahi- anxiety crams before tests. He does more than like 70% of his classmates but is always convinced he’s fallen behind on everything. Cries a LOT when he doesnt understand smth
Noya- another one who cries only he does it SO easily. Personally victimised by anything past question 1. Gets literally everyone to do his work for him
Tanaka- tries so hard he really really does. His handwriting is a mess and his notes look like something a 7 year old would do. Gets everything wrong but doesnt let it stop him
Ennoshita- did someone say pretentious straight A student??? Offers to help his friends just so he can flex his pretty notes and intelligence. Seems like he has everything under control but really? He cries like once a night in the lead up to exams
Kageyama- he doesnt have any room for anything in his head that isnt volleyball. Hes hopeless
Hinata- LACKS COMMON SENSE SO BAD. He’ll finally understand EVERYTHING but write the answer in the wrong place or leave out a decimal place in the exam. Stupidest mistakes
Tsukishima- he sticks to a study schedule like what? Who tf sticks to a schedule? Doesnt like to flaunt his grades around anyone who isnt hinata and kageyama, but akiteru and his mom are 100% the type to post his grades all over facebook like “so proud of my son !!!!!!”
Yamaguchi- the king of saying he hasn’t done much for exams, but then stays up every night til 2am studying. He HATES people having any expectations of him so keeps all his preparation secret lmao.
Kuroo- hes smart and he flaunts it so bad. 100% a teacher's pet, especially for science. Around exam season he lives in the library. Motivates kenma to study with him too tho hes so supportive
Kenma- hes naturally smart, which is like 70% of the reason his grades are good bc he does NOT study. Leaves it all to the night before/ when hes with his friends in the library but other than that nope he doesnt have energy
Lev- doesn't fully register he’s taking a test until he’s 3 questions in and hasn’t written a single word. Then he starts panicking.
Bokuto- he goes through the 5 stages of grief every single time he has to study. Gets frustrated as hell when he cant understand something, gets distracted by everything, a mess. Always leads to him slamming his textbook shut and sulking for an hour
Akaashi- the only one in fukurodani who actually spreads his studying out over the year so he doesnt have to cram. He has pretty notes and diagrams but still gets so stressed smh
Konoha- “yeah ill study in ten minutes” *cue him 6 hours later only starting* studies mostly at night and doesnt care about grades , yet still manages to score really good on every test
Oikawa- if this man is anything he’s dedicated. Actually finds balance between volleyball and studying when exam season’s in full swing, but that doesnt mean he still doesnt overwork himself. Surviving on 40 minutes of sleep and coffee lmao
Mattsun- doesn’t take school seriously at all. Hes like “who cares im gonna die one day” “if i dont know it now ill never know it”. So fucking chill
Makki- tries to be like issei so bad but it fails every time. He’s like “yeah who cares about biology anyway lmao”. He is a liar. He cried for 2 hours over biology last night smh. Biology is actually his number one care.
Iwa- naturally smart and follows a routine. The only healthy studier in seijoh tbh. Motivates his friends so much though hes the only reason mattsun and makki pass smh
Ushijima- sounds pretentious but he doesnt mean it. The worst person to study with because hes so naturally smart and makes everyone feel stupid. Hes like “how do you not understand this? Its easy?”
Tendou- hes so average when it comes to studying i cant even explain it. He goes home and studies, has dinner, watches some anime and studies a little more, then just goes to bed? Never overly concerned about it but hes the best for calming nerves. Makes you really believe things will be okay
Goshiki- CHRONIC WORRIER OH MY GOD. definitely gets the shakes before an exam and almost has a fuckin panic attack every single time, never feels prepared but he really is. Needs tendou for emotional support
Atsumu- too confident in his abilities lmao. He’s like “yeah ive got this i totally know it” then acts shocked and appalled when he fails. Thinks he’s the main character, therefore he HAS to pass. He’s not. And he never learns.
Osamu- the slightly smarter twin yet still not exceptional in any way. Doesnt really care about grades, he knows there’s more to life but still studies enough to pass
Kita- hello mr “whats a failing grade”. Never stresses and never fails. Actually the top of his class in basically everything. Manages to study and still find time for hobbies.
Aone- i am convinced a hug from him would get me through exam season every single year. Another person who just? Doesnt stress? Follows a routine and doesnt mind if he doesnt know something in the test. wow
Futakuchi- “i dont care about exams at all fuck them” *gets 53% and cries*. He doesnt have the patience to study and feels betrayed when all his friends actually do the work
Koganegawa- hes like hinata only he actually passes most of the time. Works SO hard and gets so happy when it pays off!! Always treats himself to mcdonalds after an exam thats self love babie
Terushima- you need to be cautious around this man. He’ll spend every night of exam season partying and ignoring any responsibility, yet still come out with 100% in everything. Where does he find the time? How does that work? What the fuck?
