#and then he's even more shocked when Yata shows up to save him knowing what Fushimi did

Note
Yata and Fushimi have been dating for a while, they're living together, they've talked about taking the next step but no plans have been made. Yata's been picking up more hours at work or working odd jobs where he can to save up money because he wants to buy Fushimi a really nice ring. Fushimi takes it the wrong way (Yata doesn't want to be around him) and argues with Yata the night Yata plans to propose. What happens from there?
Fushimi and fucking up his own life, name a more iconic duo. Imagine the two of them have been living together for a few months and dating for longer than that. Yata’s been thinking about proposing for a while now, which is actually why he suggested they move in together as like a way of ‘testing’ if he was ready to move to the next step. He’s definitely decided that he is too, he wants to propose to Fushimi as soon as possible. Except when he mentions it to the Homra guys and they all congratulate him they ask him what kind of ring he’s buying and Yata’s like ‘…shit.’
Intellectually Yata knows that Fushimi probably wouldn’t care much about jewelry but at the same time Yata wants to get him something, like not because you’re ‘supposed’ to buy engagement rings but because he wants something tangible that he can gift to Fushimi to show how much he wants Fushimi to marry him (and okay, maybe a little possessive, letting that creepy Blue King know that Saruhiko is taken thanks). Yata doesn’t have a lot of money though and maybe for the first time Yata is really aware that he’s never been rich while Fushimi is at least comfortable financially, that Fushimi grew up with rich parents and now has a cushy government job and how lame would it be if Yata gave him some cheap dinky ring. This is how Yata talks himself into getting Fushimi an expensive ring and to pay for it he starts taking extra hours at work, doing some extra errands for Kusanagi around the bar, maybe even adding on like a side hustle all so he can earn enough cash for a good ring.
Meanwhile Fushimi has obviously noticed that Yata isn’t around as much as normal. They probably have trouble finding free time to spend together as it is due to Fushimi’s work so now it’s even worse, some days Fushimi barely even sees Yata. When he asks about it Yata gets noticeably nervous and says he’s just doing some favors for people or that stuff came up at work, Yata probably thinks he’s being suave but he’s actually looking totally dodgy and suspicious. Fushimi being Fushimi he immediately starts suspecting the worst: they’ve only been living together a few months after all and Yata still complains about Fushimi’s diet and bad habits, complaining that he doesn’t do the laundry or that he could help with the cleaning and Fushimi’s suddenly like hyper aware of all his deficiencies, like maybe now that they’re living together Yata’s remembered what a mess Fushimi is and is trying to find a way to get out of this whole relationship.
With Yata being so busy and Fushimi’s own work schedule Yata doesn’t even notice that Fushimi’s been getting quieter and quieter, so focused on his goal that he completely forgets who he’s dating. Fushimi is just quietly going from self loathing spiral to self destructive and he’s started staying later at work to avoid Yata too, convincing himself that this was a stupid idea to begin with and why did he ever think Yata would love him. Finally Yata gets enough money to buy the ring and decides to go home early to surprise Fushimi, all ready to make a nice dinner and propose. Yata’s really nervous but excited, right until he steps into the apartment and sees Fushimi packing his bags.
Yata’s just shocked and also probably pretty hurt, thinking Fushimi was about to do like before and just disappear without telling Yata anything. Fushimi coldly says isn’t this what Yata wants, for Fushimi to leave him alone, and Yata starts to get angry because Fushimi’s just going to break things off without explaining again. Fushimi scoffs that Yata’s the one who was lying and playing pretend, going into full asshole mode to hide his own hurt and Yata starts to give in to his own anger and yell back…and then he puts a hand into his pocket and touches the ring and he stops, and takes a deep breath.
Yata’s been through this before, after all, and didn’t he promise he wasn’t going to let miscommunication get between them again. So Yata takes a moment to calm himself and he sits down on the bed and asks Fushimi why he thinks Yata doesn’t want to be with him anymore. Fushimi’s caught off guard by this Misaki who won’t rise to the bait and he looks away, Yata reaches over and touches Fushimi’s cheek, making Fushimi look at him. Yata says they’re not gonna do this again right and finally Fushimi sighs and says Yata’s the one who’s been avoiding him.
All of a sudden Yata realizes what this is about and he sighs and then says he’s sorry. Fushimi is just baffled by that one and Yata gives him a thin smile and says he forgot about how things affect Fushimi and he should know better than to keep stuff from Fushimi, even if it’s for a good reason, because Fushimi thinks too much and assumes the worst. Fushimi tries to act like he wasn’t assuming anything but Yata knows that’s exactly what Fushimi did and he says he’ll try to be better about that, if Fushimi can work on just telling Yata when something upsets him instead of immediately planning his escape. Fushimi shifts, obviously uncomfortable, and Yata says he’s serious, he thought maybe he’d done enough to help Fushimi realize that but there’s still stuff they need to work on, Fushimi can’t just plan to run at the first sign of trouble. Fushimi’s still tense but finally he sighs and mumbles out a ‘fine, I’ll try’ and imagine now he’s being clingy to hide the fact that he knows he did something wrong and doesn’t want to admit it. Yata laughs a little and says good, now do you want to see what I was doing all that time. Yata admits he’d planned something a little more romantic but this’ll have to do as he pulls out the ring, asking if Fushimi will marry him.

“SIX IDOLS”
CHAPTER 2: “YATA MISAKI’S BUILDING EXPLORATION! HAUNTED HOUSE EDITION” (Part 2)
* K - Six Idols (List of Chapters) * Projects & Chapters
Translation: Naru-kun Raws: Ridia
The director puts his hand to his jaw and thinks. Yata looked at his figure expectantly.
"It is true that this will hinder the schedule."
"Really?!"
"Then, let's go find the rabbit."
"Eh?"
The director and other members of the film crew rose to their feet one after another. From those who handle the light to the makeup, they try to go with the director. Yata instinctively tried to stop them.
"Wait a minute! Why is everyone going?"
"As we will be looking for him, it is better to have more manpower."
"That's right, oh, yeah, then I'll go with you."
"No, if we let the actor do these kinds of tasks, the name of the show will be frowned upon. Yata-san and Kamamoto-san, you should wait here."
Just with that, the other members except Yata and Kamamoto walked out of the reception room.
"……"
Yata stretched out his empty hand and sat back on the couch.
The reception room, where the current had already been introduced, felt even colder when the equipment left. Yata flailed his legs fiercely, staring into the dim lamplight. He cannot say anything and is calm.
He feels bad because he is worried about the normal path. As an important figure in the world of idols, Yata pays tribute to Kokujoji. He is concerned about the status of the great man, not because he is afraid of this eerie western-style building.
While repeating his trembling thoughts, Yata was confident that the team or the rabbit would return as soon as possible.
And 30 minutes passed, 1 hour passed.
It seems that the rain has stopped a bit. Instead, thunder was heard more frequently. The haunting and rumbling sky sometimes casts a light similar to a flare on the window. This time, Yata realized that his body was jumping.
"It's not too late?"
Unable to suppress the trembling voice, he talks to Kamamoto. Kamamoto keeps his camera on the table in front of him, arms crossed and silent.
Yata was driven by anxiety and shook his shoulder.
"Eh? Kamamoto?"
Kamamoto lowered his head in a low voice.
"Yes."
"Don't fall asleep, fat man!"
"Hmm!" When he touched his head, Kamamoto's sunglasses slid off.
Kamamoto makes a shocked voice, dressed like an idiot with sunglasses hooked to the edge of his ear.
"What is it? What is it?"
"Idiot! The others haven't come back yet!"
However, Yata's anger did not seem to be transmitted to Kamamoto at all. He stretched out humorously, grabbed the camera from the table, and stood up.
"I'm in trouble. Then I'll search a bit!"
"Oh, why?"
The voice was about to scream, but Yata no longer has the psychological margin to worry about such things. Kamamoto scratched his head like he was in trouble.
"No, it doesn't matter what you say. If they don't come back, it's only natural for me to go looking for them, right?"
"That said, the directors have not returned. If you go, the same thing will happen, right?"
Kamamoto bowed his head and pointed the camera at Yata. Yata's face is reflected in the black lens. Kamamoto had a ridiculous tone as he clearly reflected his scared face.
"Maybe Yata-san… Are you afraid of being alone?"
"Moron!"
Yata's low kick went through Kamamoto's right knee and the giant rolled on the ground.
"Hey, Yata-san, please stop hitting me!"
"Ah! Maybe it's because I don't like your comments?"
"Just kidding! Yata isn't scared at this level! I get it!"
"I go to search..."
Yata responds with a negative voice like a different person than until now. Kamamoto stood up while rubbing his knees and headed straight for the exit.
"Then, I'll go for a bit."
Kamamoto left the room. Yata was left alone in the reception room.
"……"
He cannot hear anything but the sound of rain, thunder, and the beat of his heart. He feels restless and walk around the table for no reason. Check the clock almost every minute. Every time, he repeats the idea of going round and round, why he hasn't come back yet.
At that moment, the roar of the guitar solo echoed through the hall.
"What?!"
Involuntarily, he raises a strange voice and jumps. The guitar solo echoed in Yata's bag that he had left on the couch. The fiery melody is a representative song of "Red King Idol" Suoh Mikoto, which Yata respects.
Yata took out his PDA while suppressing his heartbeat.
The incoming call was from Kamamoto. As soon as he answers the call, Yata yells at him.
"Hey, don't call suddenly!"
As he screamed, Yata felt relieved somewhere in his heart.
Kamamoto on the other end of the phone echoed the usual subtle voice without knowing such complicated psychology.
"No, I'm sorry, Yata-san. I thought it would be bad for Yata-san to be worried, so I'm sorry."
"Are you eating something?"
"Eh? No, no way..."
"You're eating! Where are you now?"
"Oh, no... it's like a kitchen."
"You're stupid! How do you eat in someone's kitchen when you visit their house? You can't do that, even if you're a visitor!"
Yata yells. At the same time, when he looks out the window, he notices that his expression has softened. Kamamoto's usual eating habits seemed to be irreplaceable and encouraging at this point.
Kamamoto says, while making a locking sound.
"Well, you often say that if I'm hungry, I can't do it, right? And I came here guessing."
"Eh?"
"I could see a figure here, so I thought it was a rabbit. It was wearing white clothes, so I'm sure it's correct."
A small shadow was born on Yata's slightly warmed chest.
A figure in white clothes.
"Hey, Kamamoto."
"Hmm? That? That, maybe..."
When he hears Kamamoto's voice as if noticing something, the shadow gets bigger as it swells.
"Wait a minute. Come back!"
"No, what are you talking about, there was a rabbit. Sorry! When can I start recording?"
There, Kamamoto's voice cut off.
The shadow fills Yata's heart. Yata clenches the sweat from his hands that slowly spreads onto his PDA.
"Hey! Kamamoto! Come back!"
"That? It's weird. Why?"
"Kamamoto!"
"Why was his neck looking away?"
Almost at the same time as those words, a wet sound echoed off his PDA.
It's like hitting a wet leather bag on the ground.
It's like squashing a rotten tomato.
A sound with an ominous premonition clung to Yata's ears.
"Kama-…!"
The calling voice was interrupted by a loud sound that pierced the tympanic membrane. Maybe that's why he dropped his PDA. He lets it go involuntarily, and Yata looks at his PDA. Notice the words "Rikio Kamamoto" floating just below the "Call" screen.
After a while of silence, the speaker began to pick up the sound of "something."
Tap. Tap. Yata notes that the sound that resonates regularly is footsteps. Facing Yata, who is stuck as if frozen, the speaker mercilessly continues to reproduce the sound of "something".
"Heh heh heh."
In the end, a sound like that of a laughing voice, and the call was cut off.
Seeing the words "End of call", Yata noticed the sweat on his back.
There is certainly "something" here.
Yata thinks about it while being driven into a panic. Can't imagine what it is. Is it related to that white figure? What happened to that rabbit and the members that went looking for him?
And Kamamoto...
"Ah!"
Clenching his fist and teeth, Yata stared at the living room door.
If Yata were alone, he would have screamed and stormed out of the reception room, rushing into mountains of thunderstorms. Not good in this situation, let's be clear. It is incredibly scary. Even now, his knees are shaking and he can't even stand.
However, Kamamoto is here. There are also directors and film crews that came with him.
If he abandons them and runs away alone, he will deny the human Misaki Yata.
"Damn!"
Yata slammed his hardened fist against his thigh. That doesn't stop the shaking of the knees, but it is something.
Thus, pain inspired Yata. He strides across the room and kicks the door open before crossing.
"Wait, Kamamoto! I'm going to help you now!"
Screaming to inspire himself, Yata stepped into the darkness in front of him.
++++++++++
Kamamoto said at the end that he was in the kitchen.
Of course, Yata does not know the layout of the building. Still, since it's a kitchen, he guesses it's somewhere on the first floor, and he walks down the hall in big surprise. The lamp, which should be from the lighting equipment, was not on, and Yata had to use the light from his PDA as a flashlight and advance terrifyingly.
Lightning and thunder roar. The entire view of the hallway was projected for a moment as if the camera's flash fired.
It's a long corridor with blood-colored ridges and bone-like walls. The portraits are evenly spaced on the wall.
As he slowly advances, Yata tries to keep the portrait out of his eyes. Because the line of sight can match. Because if he looks at them, they might laugh at him.
If he looks at a portrait, his heart may explode as if he is doing his best live. Yata still couldn't die. He couldn't die until he saved Kamamoto and the team members.
"……"
The blankness on his face means that fear outweighs courage. There is no colleague from the "Homura Performing Arts Office" who can laugh at him, they are not here at the moment. Yata has to fight both loneliness and fear.
Fold the corner twice.
Apparently it is a corridor. Maybe the kitchen is not on the first floor. If that happens, he will have to climb the stairs. That fact began to haunt Yata's thoughts.
Before entering the hall, a white figure reflected in the window for a moment flickered in Yata's mind.
Climbing the stairs means going to that figure. Yata wasn't sure he could get into such a situation even though he no longer had the courage to oppress it anymore.
When, suddenly, the door on his left moved with a piercing noise.
"Eh?"
Yata jumped to the ground in a squeaky voice.
The door opened slowly as if it had a will of its own.
The warm breeze that flowed from there caressed his taut cheeks.
He's sure it was moved by air flow or something, until he found out, it wouldn't move.
Thousands of words that are less than thoughts fill his mind. The instinct of "I want to get away from here" and the belief that "I can't abandon my friends" conflict with each other, and Yata's body tends to be rigid.
As it is, a minute has passed.
Nothing happens.
Realizing that, Yata began to move. The doorplate illuminated by the light of the PDA came into view.
The word "Dining Room" was written there.
"This is here?"
Muttering to be sure, swallowing hard, Yata opened the door.
The spacious dining room was filled with humid air. There is a long table as seen in the movie and several chairs around it. A three-pointed candelabrum on a pure white tablecloth receives the light and glows golden.
Yata scans the room while glancing at the scene. If there is a door that leads to the kitchen, that will be the goal.
The feelings of wanting to find them and not wanting to find them are in conflict in Yata. It was the manifestation of the two feelings that filled Yata's heart, the instinct of not wanting to face loyalty and the belief that he should help his companions.
Suddenly, Yata felt something crash against his toes.
It bounces and terrifyingly points the light to the ground.
It was a ham. A thick, boneless ham that appears to be around Yata's foot. There is evidence that the packaging has been broken and removed.
Kamamoto no doubt picked it up and ate it.
He had been here.
"Kamamoto?"
His voice echoed mysteriously. When he turned on the lights, the door that would lead to the kitchen was open. Yata went in there.
The kitchen floor was damp. When Yata's shoes hit the wet floor, he made a sticky noise and pulled a rope between his shoes and the floor.
The light from the PDA trembled as if Yata's discomfort was transmitted.
The previous light reflects the ground. Yata arrived when there was a trail of something crawling across the red-black wet ground.
At the same time, there is a watery sound in the kitchen.
Kucha, Juru, Picha, Nichi, Giri.
He doesn’t notice it from the sound of the rain. he could hear the sound all the time.
Jutsu, guchitsu, baki, zuru, gucha...
Maybe he didn't want to realize it. Because it was a realization of Yata's fear.
Baki, Bagi, Goritsu, Boritsu, Jururu.
However, Yata had to face realization. He thought that he had to record it in his own eyes no matter what result he was hoping for.
A trembling light crawls across the ground and follows the bloodline.
"It" was closer than he expected.
He was wearing white clothing, similar to a dress. The word "it" comes from the fact that it was so worn that it was hard to see. The hem ripped like a saw blade and dirt that has mixed in here and there has soaked it. It was probably the dirt that caused the thread to stick to the soles of Yata's shoes.
"It" seemed to turn away from him and crouch like a monkey, shaking his head vigorously. He shook his pure white hair, moving his face further and further, and moving his hands to break something.
Each time, the watery sound from before, resonates.
A familiar giant lay in front of "It"
Kamamoto's eyes, illuminated by the lights, were wide open and were no longer looking at anything.
Yata took a step back, it would be terrible to blame him for being shy. Yata's survival instinct demanded a distance from "it", just as a hunted animal would reflexively frighten. Holding his mouth with his hand, while pouring a fixed stare at "it", Yata tries to leave the room.
There was a dry sound under his feet.
"… ?!"
Yata hastily points the light at his feet.
There were Kamamoto's sunglasses. Stepped on by Yata, the lens of the sunglasses snapped in two.
He looked up from the sunglasses and saw "it", terrifyingly.
The movement stopped, as if it had frozen.
Even arms thin like dead trees and hair white like ceramic remain frozen.
The neck began to turn silently.
Slowly and precisely, like the gears of a machine. Turning sideways, diagonally back, and turning 180 degrees, it "saw" Yata.
Kamamoto's words revive in Yata's mind.
("Why is your neck there?")
Looking at Yata with only his face, with his body facing forward.
"It" moves just a little.
Random blood-soaked teeth were stained with a speckled pattern of yellow and red.
"Gaaaaaaaaaaah!"
When he noticed, Yata was sprinting down the hall of the building.
Screams of flight and senseless came from his mouth, the eyes had shed tears incessantly. He is not sure where he is going. However, he wanted to get away from that kitchen as soon as possible.
Yata slipped and fell, trying to turn the corner of the hall at full speed. He crashes into the wall and stops, reflectively looking at the darkness from which he ran.
He couldn't find the figure for "it."
However, only sound was heard.
Regularly echoing sounds and footsteps approached Yata from the other side of the darkness with a speed that shook fear.
Yata got to his feet and started running. His brain made a full rotation. Remembering the layout of the building, He try to find a way out.
As he ran down the hall, he saw a familiar sight.
This is the entrance hall he saw when he first entered the building. A ridiculously huge chandelier and a portrait of Daikaku Kokujoji on the wall of a huge staircase. Yata immediately took the door that led to the outside of the left door.
No matter how much he pushes or pull, it won't open. Even if he turned the key like crazy, kicked the door, or slammed it, the heavy door would not stubbornly move. Full of irritation and anger, Yata says, "Come on! What's this? Open up! Open up!"
However, the screaming, almost crying, stopped immediately. The footsteps were getting closer.
Hita, Hita, Hita, Hita.
Yata let go of all his emotions and ran like a ball. He refused to be there putting all his physical abilities that he refined as an idol.
Yata, who was running like the wind, soon found a bath.
When he enters, it was divided into several private rooms. He pushes open while checking with the PDA light and it slides inside.
When the lights went out, the bathroom filled with a darkness that seemed to crush him.
Yata supports his head as he shakes on the toilet seat.
("What is that, what is that, what is that?")
Did "it" eat Kamamoto?
Anger at his partner's murder swelled through his body, but much more than that, fear of the mysterious monster in front of him. The monster crawls out looking for him at this very moment. Just imagining it makes his skin rust.
After doing it for a while, Yata suddenly came up with something.
"I have to ask for help..."
Of course, the reason the idea that was taken for granted didn't come up until now is because his brain was engulfed in fear. Yata tapped his PDA with his shaking finger and first tried to contact his most trusted boss, Izumo Kusanagi.
At that moment, he heard a voice from the depths of the darkness of the hall.
"Yata-san, where are you? Please answer."
Yata stops his finger and raises his face as if flipped over. The cold, sweaty expression shone with wonder and joy.
"Kamamoto...?"
"Yata-san, please help me. I got hurt."
Without a doubt, it was Rikio Kamamoto's voice.
It has been delayed, but it cannot be wrong. Yata stood up in the bathroom of a private room and sharpened his ears.
Kamamoto's voice seems to come and go right outside the bathroom. Or maybe Kamamoto, who was lying at the time, was still alive. Perhaps he escaped from the monster and came to ask for help.
("Here! Kamamoto, I'm here! We will run away together!")
Yata hastily shut his mouth when he was about to scream.
Not out of self-protection, it was out of doubt.
Is that really Kamamoto's voice?
There is no reason. The questions equal to intuition, however, get louder and louder as he hears Kamamoto's voice.
"Yata-san, Yata-san, where are you? I'm hungry, I'm hungry, I don't care, I want to eat soon."
He had goose bumps.
No matter how much it is Kamamoto, in such a situation, he couldn't think of making such a loud voice and worrying about food.
Yata sat back on the toilet seat. He keeps his mouth closed with watery eyes to prevent any sound from escaping.
Still, Kamamoto's voice continues to call him by name. "Yata-san, where are you?"
Suddenly, Kamamoto's voice cut off.
"……"
Yata blinked. A tear drop was shed. He wondered if he was gone.
There is no way to confirm it. There is not an iota of courage to get out of there. Yata took out the PDA again and started the message app. He absolutely did not want to talk. First he would call Kusanagi, then Kusanagi would call the police.
Yata's PDA sounded with a roaring guitar solo.
"Eh?"
Suoh Mikoto's guitar solo, which he is more intoxicated with than anyone, now sounds like a devastating call from the devil. Yata hurries to look at the PDA. While cursing the idiot who made a call in such a situation, he looks at the screen regretting not having put the silent mode.
His spine froze.
The name "Rikio Kamamoto" was etched on the screen.
He hung up the call and turned off the PDA. As he did so, he thought.
He couldn't think optimistically that Kamamoto was alive. The voice from before was definitely not Kamamoto himself.
So the current call was... that "thing".
That "thing" took Kamamoto's PDA and called it, to find out where it turned on.
About the same time, he was convinced of that, there was a sound of footsteps.
Tap, Tap, Tap, Tap. He has regular intervals and gradually but surely approaches Yata.
Can't bear it. Yata decided to reject the reality in front of him.
He closed his eyes tightly. He covered his ears with both hands. Even if death falls from above one day, try not to look directly at it.
Yet in the dark, Yata thinks.
A feeling of strangeness.
A person can stop his movement of his own free will, but he cannot stop his will. The feeling of strangeness that was born in the dark grew in Yata's brain, because there was nothing else.
Why does he hear footsteps?
The floor of the building is completely strange. The kitchen was really different, but the hallways and bathrooms were filled with crimson delicacy.
The heavy boots would make steps. But that step is barefoot. No matter how fast he run barefoot, the sound should be absorbed by the relief and disappear.
So it's "it".
At that moment, there was something that shone like a revelation.
Can't stop thinking. The discovery cannot be ignored. In that sense, Yata must have been more human than anyone. Even if that means ruin, to confirm his own conscience, he opened his eyes and turned his face away.
On the bathroom ceiling, "it" was stuck.
His palm with dirty claws, every time it sticks to the ceiling, makes a "thump" sound. That was the true identity of the "steps". When he turned his head upside down, the ragged white hair was tousled. Stuck to the ceiling on all fours, "it" had bright red eyes that glowed negatively, exposing turbulent yellow and red teeth.
In the form of a predator who found Yata with no escape.
"No, aaaaaaaaaaah!"
Yata screamed with all his soul. At that moment, Yata's sight turned white.
++++++++++
"Hey! It was amazing!"
With such a voice, the door to the private room was opened.
Behind the door, the film crew, illuminated by electric lights, waited. Kamamoto Rikio holds up the camera, and a man in sunglasses and a red helmet holds a sign that says, "Don't miss it!" The man in the sunglasses looked a lot like Yata's trusted boss, Izumo Kusanagi.
"……"
Yata was watching the scene with all faces dead.
Kamamoto, who should have died, looks at a man who looks like Kusanagi while holding the camera.
"Kusanagi-san, this is…"
"I don't think there will be a reaction. So again."
He hit the sign in front of him.
"Yata-chan? Are you really okay?"
"……"
Yata cannot react.
When the man who looked like Kusanagi sighed, he left the sign to Kamamoto and entered the private room.
"Sure! The idol has a fluid face during the tea ceremony!"
Gently tap Yata's head.
"Ah! Eh, that? Kusanagi-san? Why?"
Kusanagi shakes his head at Yata, who drips confusion as is.
"That's why I told you about it for a while. It's a shocking show! The target is Yata-chan, and the tricks are us, 'Homura Performing Arts Office'."
At that moment, a figure fell from the ceiling. That monster with a shabby dress and white hair.
From "it", the horror was completely lost. She pulled her false teeth out of her mouth, tucked her white hair back, and turned her red eyes to Yata. "It" he breathed through her nose, giving a feeling of fullness to her young face.
"How was it? Was my performance terrifying?"
"Oh, you did it perfectly, Anna!"
"He was scared of you!"
Look at the friends who are raising their thumbs.
"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah?!"
Yata screamed as loud as he did before.
Ten minutes later.
Yata was angry at the entrance of the building, which was fully lit.
"What's that? It's terrible, Kusanagi-san! Please tell me in advance if you do this kind of thing!"
"Ahaha, Yata-chan, don't talk nonsense. If I told you, you wouldn't be surprised, right?"
"Kamamoto, you were an accessory too! I really thought you were dead!"
"Well, it doesn't matter how much food you eat there, doesn't it?"
Yata struck Kamamoto's head with all his might for the first time in a long time, gathering in his fist all the reaction of fear and anger that he had suffered.
With Kamamoto crouched on his back, Yata turns his resentful eyes on Anna.
"And Anna... even you..."
Anna suddenly looked away, perhaps uncomfortable.
"Because it was work.", Anna muttered.
So everything, it was something that had been organized from the beginning.
The place where the program will be broadcast is "Shirogin Deluxe" remains unchanged. However, it was not actually a visit to Kokujoji's house, but rather a project presented by the "Homura Performing Arts Office".
After seeing it, "Idol King" Isana Yashiro said, "This looks interesting!", And this project received the full backing of the "Tokijikuin Agency". Small dark vision cameras were installed around the building, rabbit costumes rented, and a recreational facility that was no longer in use. The words, actions and reactions Yata has done so far are said to be fully reflected.
Everything to give the Yata lens the greatest fear and obtain the best recordings.
Kusanagi happily explains.
"You know, Yata-chan has become popular lately? He's been featured in entertainment magazines and online, and some people call him 'The Red Prince'."
"Hey, what are you doing?"
"So, I wonder if that's a little different from Yata-chan's politics. I brought this project to highlight Yata-chan's original charm here."
"Eh..."
Honestly, he's not sure about politics or appeal. Yata entered this path longing for Suoh. He really hadn't been aware of how others saw him.
Such a production was the work of Kusanagi at the "Homura Performing Arts Office".
"Thanks to that, I got a good photo! Anna did a good job, and two birds with one stone."
Therefore, it would be nice if Kusanagi were satisfied with his work, although he is not yet convinced.
However, Yata looks at Anna with concern.
"Well Anna, how did you do that?"
Anna shook her head.
"Eh?"
"I see, that... was it glued to the ceiling?"
Anna turns to the side. Look at the hallway wall, put both hands on it, and climb the wall while making noise.
Yata opened his mouth.
Anna asks, glued to the ceiling and looking at Yata upside down.
"What about this?"
"No... that... how...?"
"Expert."
Anna said it with a calm face. Yata watches her like he's looking at something incredible. No, the idea occurred to him that it would be impossible to practice or that she was ignoring the laws of physics, but he felt that even doing it was unsophisticated.
"Well then, what about that? That way of turning the neck."
"This?"
When Anna's neck began to twist, Yata hastily stopped her.
"Wait! Stop! Stop! You don't have to show it!"
Anna returned her head to its original position. Looking at Yata upside down, with a smile.
"Special training."
"No, it's amazing, right?! Kusanagi-san, okay? What are you doing as an idol?"
"Yeah, well it's a subtle thing to say if it's an ant or a pear, but... Anna did her best, so ant!"
"Sweet! Are you really sweet to Anna?"
"Haha, okay, this is also an art style. Wasn't Anna's threatening role in the hallway quite realistic?"
"Yeah, well, I thought my heart would stop..."
Yata muttered that.
Of course, the rage at being cheated continues to smoke.
However, it was even stronger than that, and relief filled Yata's heart. He really thought that Kamamoto was dead, and he really thought they were going to kill him. Rather, he even remembered to praise the production team that created such high quality.
"Well I'm excited about this too. Yata-chan had a good reaction too!"
"Ah…"
When Kusanagi hit him on the back, Yata gave a dry laugh.
"The event has been completed! Please go ahead!"
A staff member who was in charge of the location car outside the building called him out. Kusanagi and other members of the "Homura Performing Arts Office" follow suit and get into the car one after another.
The rain had completely stopped and the light was shining through the clouds. Looking at him, Yata suddenly called to Anna in the seat next to him.
"Hey, Anna, you were on the second floor when we entered the building, right?"
"Eh?"
"No, you know. I saw you by the second floor window."
Anna looks at Yata saying, "I don't know what you're talking about."
Kusanagi, who had either heard or accosted him before, said with a bitter smile.
"Yata-chan, don't say weird things. No one went up the stairs."
"Ah…"
"I had no plans to use the second floor in the first place. No one should have gone."
The relief in his heart changes fast and cold.
So what did you see at the time?
Yata's neck was twisted back, as if it were a physical law. While he thought it was something he shouldn't see, he wanted to make his own discoveries, simple human curiosity.
The exterior of the desolate building. The windows on the second floor open in black at regular intervals. At one of the windows where sunlight enters after the rain, a girl dressed in white was smiling and showing her yellowish teeth.

A mikorei scenario for the people who wanted to cry (it’s not so bad, I swear)
 {♔}
Post ROK. In the exact moment the Slate is destroyed, Mikoto’s eyes snap open. He has just woken up in what seems a hospital room, but besides that there’s nothing in that place vaguely familiar. A young woman, with short dark hair and a cheerful smile, welcomes him, briefly explaining him that he is in one of the Gold clan’s facilities, that he had been in a coma for all this time, and that she and her team have been taking care of him for a while.
Lately, he meets the chief researcher, someone who was working with the Gold Clan since before the day of the Kagutsu incident, aiming to avoid any Damocles Down. Thanks to their studies they managed to save Mikoto’s life and treat his injuries; however, his connection with the Slate somehow prevented him from waking up.
The reasercher proceeds to explain what happened while he was in a coma: how Anna became the new Red King, what happened to Homra, the death of the Gold King and the following arising of the Green Clan, how the Slate was destroyed and why. And, more in important, that everyone believes that Mikoto died. The reasercher concludes that their job with him is done, and that now Mikoto can do whatever he wants.
For a while, Mikoto chooses to do nothing; he is too debilitated, both physically and mentally, to even think to “go back”.
He has to face Totsuka's death and the consequences of his actions, and at the top of it, he doesn't know if he wants to go back to that society who caged him. He knows, no matter how much his people love him, that he will never fit.
Meanwhile Munakata is struggling with his new condition of  “normal man” (assuming that the Kings, differently from their clansmen and Strains, lost almost completely their powers with the destruction of the Slate); as time passes, he can’t help but notice all his limits as a common person, all the things he can’t do anymore: his powers didn’t help him only during his fights, but also intellectually and mentally. He gets tired more easily, unfocused more easily; he simply can’t do anymore all what he used to do and how he used to. Which it kinda leads him to constantly overwork himself just to prove (to himself) that he can still pursue his path. That he is still has some unresolved feelings about what happened in the last two years, feelings and thoughts that he is not willing to openly express to anyone, doesn’t help either.
Months pass in the new era without the Slate, months in which everyone is adjusting to the new reality, without anything important happening. Until one day, Mikoto shows up before Munakata family’s house.
It’s a Sunday afternoon, and he knows (thanks to the information provided by the researcher who saved him) that Munakata Reisi is there, paying a visit to his family.
Of course Munakata Reisi is shocked when Mikoto walks in his house. So shocked that at first he doesn't even know how to feel. He even forgets to punch Suoh. Instead, keeping his natural decorum, he simply listens to Mikoto's explanation about what happened, how he survived, why he didn’t come back earlier and why “now and here”. On the other hand, not so surprisingly Mikoto doesn’t seem to be able to give a proper answer to all the questions Munakata has. In his mind, to show up there and basically say “look, I’m alive” should have been enough. He was obviously mistaken.
They talk a bit, and in Mikoto’s words is implied he believes to owe Munakata at least the knowledge to not have actually killed him.
He then apologies for what happened, this time directly to Munakata, but without regretting his past choices (if anything it almost seems he regrets to have survived). Munakata is not surprised about that, to which he responds with a sad half smile. He asks what Mikoto is going to do. Their talk ends here, due to Taishi’s interruption to invite Mikoto to stay over for dinner.
Next step for Mikoto is going back to Homra (other sad story), which probably is a little harder than facing Munakata to him.
Of course the reunion is very emotional (just think about Homra’s surprise, Anna’s happiness and Kusanagi’s shock. How the latter can’t even believe about who’s before his eyes. Think about how Yata could feel, now that he has the chance to understand Mikoto-san, and about all the alphabet boys’ reactions).
However Mikoto has already decided not to stay at Homra; instead he’s got a small apartment not so nearby, where he can stay for the time being. To him it’s a kind of “safe space”, where he can live without feeling outside pressures (yes, even from his own -ex?- clan), and which he needs to adjust to whatever kind of life he will decide to have. It doesn't take long for Munakata to show up at its door: and always at the weirdest hours, especially during night-time. Mikoto can’t really say to be exactly “happy” about the timing, but even complaining a lot he lets Munakata in every time, because he knows this is the other’s way to reach out, and that he is the only one Munakata can relate to. So he offers him the not-so-cozy couch in the small living room and a drink, and they spend the rest of the night awake drinking and chatting, pretending to be enough drunk so that their words seem a little less real, a little more forgivable.
Both of them are struggling in different ways, and somehow, they manage to help each other, by barely being there for the each other. Munakata does most of the talking, often on completely trivial events involving bonding activities and suspicious collective spreading of fever or stomachache in the blue clan, and Mikoto mostly replies with “uh”s, always forgetting who’s this Fuse that from time to time appears in Munakata’s talking (he’s got a rough idea about a certain Domyouji, and for some reasons he can’t stand a certain Aki-bunny).
But there are other times, when their shared bottle (or bottles) is almost empty, and the night has reached its darker hours, in which their talks become more serious.
It's during one of these nights that Munakata murmurs:
"I /still/ want to save you, Suoh"
and that hits Mikoto hard, he can almost feel it physically, in how his chest clenches, in his lack of breath; because if the first time he heard that sentence from Munakata he was run to his own death, now it's different, now he's struggling to stay alive. And deep inside Mikoto isn't even sure if he is worth to be the object of all... that consideration. Because he doesn't feel he deserves it. And he asks "why", why Munakata should care so much about someone like him. And Munakata just smiles sadly, knowing full well they both know *why*, and also knowing it would be too easy, too simple, somehow *wrong* saying those little words, because neither is ready and is in a good state of mind, because both are a little broken over past feelings and now it's enough being together, it really is. {♔}
... And eventually everything works out and they live happily being idiots! :D
I didn’t tell everything, and I left out a little of Munakata’s pov in this (but it was becoming so long! ;A;), but this is my favorite “alive!Mikoto AU”, the one I go mostly with when I am thinking about a scenario in which Mikoto survives. If you see a lot of similitarities with some of @ridiasfangirlings‘s scenarios, well, you’re right! I built most of this AU also thanks to her, so kudos to Ridia! <3 I hope you liked my... scenario, story? and that you had a good cry! :D

Summary: In which HOMRA is a bunch of college frat boys trying to get in your pants. Or: “Come back, I’m not done wasting your time.”
Warnings: Some might be a bit ooc since they’re all fuckboys in here (some more than others), y/n culture, angst, somewhat explicit ***, unrequited feelings, Chitose in his natural habitat, Fujishima is a furry, Yata still can’t talk to women, and Bandou still can’t get laid.
Word Count: 5.6k lol
Notes: OKAY, IT’S FINALLY HERE. I was working on my FwB piece with @mangoqueens when we were suddenly like, “Okay, but fuckboy!homra tho.” Also, not including the trio in this one cause I wanted to focus on the younger guys more. A quick shoutout to @anewmourning for helping me come up with ideas for fuckboy!fujishima. This is my first ever time doing something like this, so I apologize for any grammar mistakes or stale dialogue. Reblogs/replies are appreciated!
This is pretty self indulgent, so ignore it if it’s not your thing.
Yata
Obnoxious in a completely different way from the average fuckboy (as in he doesn’t break your heart. Well, not intentionally).
That one guy who always shows up to your Philosophy class late with loud rap music blasting from his headphones, with a skateboard under his arm.
But if he’s not coming to class late, he’s skipping. You don’t think you ever saw him come to class on time (seriously, why is he even in this class?).
If he’s not sleeping in class, he’s always arguing with someone, even the Professor. Usually, that random student happens to be you.
“What the fuck do you mean we don’t have free will?” “I mean that there’s something called fucking fate which means everything is destined to be, you asshat!” “The fuck did you call me?”
You happened to be the lucky student he fights with cause of the one time you ‘accidentally’ told him to shut the fuck up (but in a ‘kind’ way cause you can’t just go around cursing during class) and you’ve been on his radar ever since.
But not in that “damn, i wanna fuck her” way, more like “i hate her, i gotta ruin her life” type of way since you pretty much embarrassed him in class.
Doesn’t really hate you or wanna ruin your life though, just likes to start fights with you over petty shit (Bandou would be proud).
Intervenes whenever you’re flirting with another guy in class with the pretext of trying to “save” him from you.
And everyone definitely notices his behavior towards you cause no matter how obnoxious Yata is, he never picked any fights with girls (except for that one busty blonde who’s part of the student govt).
If he’s really feeling bold (and stupid), he would sometimes tug on your hair or jab you with his pen to get a reaction out of you in class.
Pretty much the embodiment of the whole “you know a boy likes you if he teases you a lot.”
Your philosophy class is practically a war zone at this point with how much you two bicker (which really pisses everyone off).
One day your prof assigns the class a group paper and partners you and Yata up (probably for some sadistic reason).
You refuse to have anything to do with Yata at first but then he just declares that you can write the whole paper then. So you bitterly suck it up and force him to contribute just out of spite (you know if you write it yourself, your grade will be higher. But you’re honestly willing to take the lower grade if it means Yata will suffer in the process).
He stands you up whenever you arrange to meet in cafes, the library, etc. You leave him really angry, nasty texts and tell him to go to hell.
You were over it one day and marched up to his dorm room, banging on the door, demanding that he let you in. He opens the door, irritated with you, and you push through and start going OFF on how much of an idiot and a dick he was.
And as cliche as it is, you guys were too busy yelling at each other to notice how the distance between you two was getting shorter and shorter until you had him backed against the wall. Yata looked at your lips, before looking up to glare at you, “I fucking hate you.” Before you can respond some equally nasty shit, he immediately slammed his lips against you.
What started off as a kiss, eventually turned into you getting fucked by Yata against the wall (God, you never knew a day like this would ever happen...and that he would actually be a good fuck despite his height and inability to talk to most women).
You both eventually fall into this pattern of sleeping with each other, since it’s an easier way to deal with anger and stress.
But other than sex, nothing changes between you two. You still treat each other like shit.
And in the end, your paper got a C+ so at least you passed.
You didn’t notice that you caught feelings for him until a friend pointed out that you seemed to have softened up on Yata (which you denied, of course).
But once you realized that his smile is probably one of the cutest things you’ve ever seen and how his usually obnoxious laugh suddenly became endearing to you, you noticed a change in his behavior.
He...he doesn’t pick a fight with you that much anymore? That’s a good thing, right?
But...he doesn’t really talk to you that much either, other than some half assed replies. And he stopped coming over for sex too.
Was fighting (and sex) really the only way you guys communicated with each other?
You try not to think much of it and decide to treat yourself to your favorite drink at the cafe nearby.
And it wasn’t until you were halfway across campus when you hear that familiar voice and your heart started beating like crazy when he came in your view.
But before you can call out to him, you notice the petite figure walking next to him. And then you really take a look at Yata this time.
For the first time ever, you see Yata unlike his usual, loud self. He’s patiently teaching the pretty girl how to use his skateboard, and when she holds onto him in fear of falling, you see how broad his smile gets, despite his awkward stammers and obvious blush. It was only when the girl leans over to kiss his cheek, when you decide to walk away.
It’s just in your fate for your first heartbreak to be like this.
Kamamoto
Ah yes, the king of ghosting™
So here’s the thing, you didn’t think much of him at first. But then you found out that he’s one of them and suddenly, he was just another annoying ass fuckboy to you.
So you were shocked to see him join the home economics club you were part of.
Didn’t take you long to change your opinion again cause despite his sketchy appearance and friend group, he was such a sweetheart??? He was always making sure all of the club members were appreciated and acknowledged for their efforts, would bring food for everyone, etc.
And you find yourself becoming friends with him, learning about how his parents owned a liquor store back home, how he spent his first couple of years in college undeclared cause he was following Yata around so that they can major in the same field, which obviously didn’t work out (fortunately, he was able to discover his passion for cooking).
It was during a rainy day when he was walking you back to your dorm when he leaned over to kiss you. And it was after a couple of dates, you decided to ride him in your dorm when your roommate was out.
And all was well till it was the end of the semester and it was time to go home for summer break. Despite promising to keep in touch over the summer, you notice the good morning texts becoming rare until it just stopped showing up. Replies to your texts would be vague or one worded (if it’s one of those lucky days where he finally decides to text back). It doesn’t take that long for you figure out what’s happening.
He’s ghosting you.
aka he’s breaking up with you without even letting you know.
He wants to play that game? Then fine, you’re not the type to beg someone to stay anyway. Out of sight, out of mind.
“Easier said than done,” you mused to yourself as you search for his Instagram later on.
You don’t know what you were expecting to see on his page, but you definitely were not expecting to see this thin, surfer looking guy pop up, donning the same name and username as Kamamoto.
You check his instagram and see his latest selfies and you can’t believe what you’re seeing???? Who is this guy and where is Rikio???
You thought that Kamamoto must have changed his @ until you realized that the names still there and that the other homra guys are following him (with jealous, bitter comments from Yata, Bandou, and Chitose).
He posts a lot of pics with so many pretty girls, his comment section is filled with girls, he’s out partying with so many girls.
And you can’t help but notice this petite girl named Ayumi, who keeps popping up in his comments (and the fact that he’s always replying to her).
You eventually give up. Maybe this is a sign from God that it wasn’t meant to be.
But when you come back to uni, you noticed that he’s back to his normal shape. How does he lose and gain that much weight in such a quick span of time??? And his hair????
Ironically, he suddenly remembers your existence and pretends as if he didn’t ignore you during the summer.
When he waits for you outside of your classroom with a boxed lunch for you two to share, you immediately turn around and walk away.
You loved yourself too much to let yourself be used like that.
Akagi
You know him cause everyone on campus knows him, judging by the large amount of followers he has on social media, and how he’s always seen hanging with all types of people on campus.
The type to constantly post shirtless pics and gym selfies, so that he can show off his abs and biceps (you may or may not have drooled at one or five pics). Posts videos of his crazy nights out, which always include girls and alcohol. Strangely enough though, with the amount of girls he’s seen with, you don’t hear any crazy rumors about him with any of the girls he’s seen with other than a casual hookup here and there.
He also happens to be in your consumer behavior class. And unlike the majority of the class, he’s one of the rare people who takes this class cause he actually majors in marketing. It fits him though, he’s an extremely social person who is good at persuading people, as proven during his presentation of why students should invest in the shitty gym near campus (y’know, the type ex convicts work out at), rather than the one provided by Uni.
It wasn’t until you worked with him in a group assignment that you realized that he’s a lot nicer than he looks. Suddenly, conversations about the group assignment transitioned from sitting next to each other in class to actually hanging outside of class and making plans.
It didn’t take a long time for you to realize that you were whipped for this full time student, part time delinquent with puppy dog eyes and a boyish grin.
Despite your sudden revelation, things were normal between you two. As much as you wanted your feelings to be reciprocated, you knew there was a line between your fantasies and reality. The way he interacted with you was pretty much how he interacted with everyone else and that is something you have come to understand. You guys were just friends, and nothing more.
Well, that’s what you thought until that one party homra threw a party in celebration for Bandou getting a C- in his Cultural Anthropology midterm that he thought he was going to fail (at this point, they were just desperate to throw a party).
Shouhei was a social butterfly with a lot of friends, so you weren’t surprised that he didn’t remain by your side after greeting you and your friends since he was busy rotating between different groups of people throughout the party.
But what you didn’t expect was him coming over to talk to you about the upcoming marketing exam while you were dancing along with one of your guy friends. But you realize that it’s just an excuse when he puts his hand on your lower back, inviting you to his room so that you guys can talk in private (but you didn’t care).
Next thing you know, you’re laid up on his bed with his face buried between your thighs.
Ever since that night, things have changed between you guys. Suddenly, study sessions in reserved study rooms would end up with you bent over the table while he thrusts into you. And if you didn’t know better, you would’ve thought this was his infamous friend, Chitose you were dealing with.
But you know it’s Shouhei when you find out that you guys are exclusive (which relieves you when you remember how many pretty girls he’s friends with) and how there are times where you guys would have sweet pillow talks where you both talk about general shit like future aspirations but also some deep shit like family issues.
But things get difficult cause you guys act like you’re in a relationship, even though you aren’t.
You want to be in a relationship with him, but he’s not sure if he wants to settle down yet.
But he also doesn’t want to let you go, preferring to have you as his girl, but w/o officially being his girl.
You deal with this clownery shit for a few more weeks (cause you’re weak) until you finally decided to put an end to w/e you two have going on, and blocking him on social media right before the semester ended.
You eventually link up with another guy from uni over the summer and things go great with him and you guys return to the new semester as a couple.
You forgot all about Shouhei until you come across him with Bandou and Chitose on the hallways while walking with your man.
Shit, you just made eye contact with him, time to pretend you don’t know this guy.
But he calls out your name anyway, and asks you how’ve you been since you’ve been pretty awol.
(Even though Shouhei stopped walking in order to talk to you, Chitose and Bandou continue to walk past you. You don’t know if you should be relieved or worried).
You tell him that you’ve been pretty busy (trying to pretend that you didn’t block him on ig) and introduce him to your boyfriend.
You couldn’t help but notice Shouhei sizing up your man while talking to you. “So you went off and got yourself a boyfriend, huh?” His tone was carefree and nonchalant, but you knew better.
“Well we had some pretty good times together last semester too. Did you tell him about me?” *Cue implications of sexual (and semi romantic) relationship you shared with him to make your bf jealous and to back off*
You grab your bf’s hand and walk away from him before things can get messy.
Pretty much resorts to sending you texts asking if he can see you, and that just cause you’re in a relationship, doesn’t mean you can’t hang with other guys. Leaves you drunk messages and voicemails, begging you to come back to him, and how he thinks he fell in love with you.
First one to wish you a happy birthday text (even before your own bf) at 12 a.m. despite you not talking to him for months.
You want to save his texts and messages for memories’ sake (and that somewhere deep inside of you, you still have some leftover feelings for him) but you end up deleting it just incase your bf comes across it.
To move on is to grow.
Bandou
That one weird, quiet kid who usually sits in the back of the classroom, all bundled up in a hoodie and a dark pair of sunglasses (yes, even inside the classroom).
You initially thought he was pretty harmless (despite his suspicious apparel) since he usually minded his own business and worked alone.
But you were wrong. so so wrong.
It happened to be one of those days where the professor randomly announces some assignment in class and everyones already paired up, leaving you no choice but to partner with little miss sunshine at the back.
And that is when you unfortunately get to know him. For someone who doesn’t talk much, he’s hella loud. If he’s not cursing at every error message he receives from entering a code, he’s ranting about the smallest (and dumbest) shit you can possibly think of. But it didn’t really bother you that much until it happened.
While working through the assignment, you would feel his gaze on you. But anytime you would look up to meet his gaze, he would quickly turn away with a small smirk on his face. This goes on for a while until you finally hiss at him to stop staring at you. He immediately goes on defense and sneers at you, “Well shit, I didn’t know it was a crime to look at people these days. You should probably seek therapy if people looking at you scares the shit out of you.”
And you swear you never wanted to smack someone this bad before.
You were hoping that the assignment would be finished asap, so that you wouldn’t have to deal with him any longer. But fortunately for you, the professor decided to extend the deadline for the assignment, so that means more quality time spent with your partner. You frown, while Bandou smirks.
If you thought he was bad in person, he’s even worse in social media (you refuse to give him your number). Always sends you a message, especially after you post a selfie.
Pretty much the embodiment of texting like a straight white boy.
“Oh so you’re alone in your room now?? What are you wearing now??” *gets no responses back*
As per tradition, sends you an unsolicited dick pic while messaging you about a class assignment.
You see him without his stupid get up for the first time in a party thrown for him by his friends. And wow, he’s actually really fucking cute??? Who knew fucking Bandou would be that good looking? But alas, his annoying personality remains the same.
He tries to pull a move on you while on the dancefloor, whether it’s to give you a kiss or to have you grind on him. He gets annoyed when you reject him (again) and tells you to leave the party since you’re not giving him any action, with a (cute) pout on his face.
“Y’know, this party was held for ME. It’S MY party so I can tell people to leave whenever I want to-wait you’re actually leaving????”
And maybe it’s because of the realization that Bandou is a lot cuter than you thought, or the fact that you have grown used to his company (and advances), you’re on your knees in an empty bathroom stall, giving him the best blowjob he’s possibly ever had.
Which you ended up regretting since the next day you were met with whistles and smug smirks when you walked passed some of the guys of homra, immediately knowing why when your eyes zeroed in on a smug Bandou, who threw you a kissy face.
You were planning to ignore them and go on with your day, since this type of behavior is expected from them, but once Bandou made that infuriating kissy face with his infuriating ass face, you went straight up to them and smacked him right across his face, leaving the others stunned.
You looked at them with a raised eyebrow, silently challenging them. Chitose stepped up, about to say something, but Kamamoto grabbed him back.
Once you were sure none of them did anything, you walked right past them. Your face was heated up. A part of you was shocked that you actually smacked Bandou, that too in front of his friends. Another part of you was super embarrassed that you ended up giving that fuckboy a blowjob, which gave him the opportunity to brag about it to his fuckass friends. You don’t even know why you’re so angry, you knew this was something to be expected. Maybe it’s cause you actually found Bandou cute that night, or maybe it’s cause you lowkey ended up having a soft spot for him. Cause as annoying as he was, there was something endearing about him, especially with the way how he would nag about you being a bitch to him, but then immediately helping you with a coding problem that you didn’t understand without you even asking.
But that doesn’t matter now, since what’s done and done. Bandou Saburouta is just as much as an asshole as his friends, and you don’t want anything to do with that.
Chitose
Before you had class with Chitose Yo, you knew exactly three things about him: 1. He’s pretty much the ringleader of all the fuckboys (it makes sense since he’s a finance major), 2. He briefly considered majoring in the liberal arts field just because it had more girls (you heard this one from one of your friends who hooked up with him last semester), and 3. He hooked up with the young T.A. of the required psychology class he had to take. Needless to say, that did not end pretty.
Being a part of the campus’ social scene, you’ve always heard about Chitose Yo and his womanizing ways. He was that one guy who was always surrounded by girls in parties, eventually leaving soon with his (victim) date.
But you’ve never actually interacted with him until your Business Policy class. You weren’t surprised when he comes to class late, giving the professor a sheepish grin and grabbing the empty seat next to you.
He didn’t notice your presence until the professor called out your name during attendance. You knew you were a goner once he turned to look at you, slowly checking you out with an infuriating (albeit, sexy) smirk on his face.
It took you approximately two classes to be charmed by him, and a party to sleep with him.
You guys become fuck buddies, and you become accustomed to the “you up?” texts he sends around 3 a.m. (obviously turns out to be full blown sexting between you two).
As much as you hate to admit it, you eventually catch feelings for him. Not only is he the best dick you ever had, he is a genuinely funny and charming person.
Unfortunately for you though, Chitose is strict on his “stay away from relationships” rule. You know that if he ever finds out about your change in feelings, he will lose interest and cut all contact with you (and you honestly don’t think you’ll be able to take that), so you bottle it up and pretend not to care when you hear of him sleeping with someone else (this asshole even asked you to join him and this other girl for a threesome), or when he always chooses party and alcohol over you.
In the bright side (well, as bright as it can be), he’s at least honest with where you guys stand and doesn’t string you along. But you know that’s just bare minimum at this point.
You thought you were able to endure it all. But then that happened.
You guys were having sex when your roommate went out. And for once, he was actually being super romantic and soft with you. For a moment, you couldn’t help but think that maybe he’s finally coming around. But that all changes once called out a name that definitely was not yours.
Oh. Oh.
Needless to say, it got awkward real quick and you guys didn’t finish.
He admits to you that he called out his ex girlfriend’s name...His ex girlfriend from high school... Someone who he never got over, and how their breakup affected him a lot more than you thought.
“I’m sorry to hear that, but I think you should leave.” You don’t think you can do this anymore. Fortunately, Chitose does not fight back and immediately leaves.
This guy needs a therapist, but that’s not your job.
Dewa
So heres how it goes: you know Dewa through Chitose (who you were so close to having sex with but the party you guys were hooking up in was crashed by the R.A. (it was one of those small, congested parties held in a dorm)). And you know that he’s not your biggest fan since he thinks you share one brain cell with Chitose and all of his other girlie friends (doesn’t help that you once threw up in his favorite hat during a party)
That’s fine with you cause you don’t like guys who act like there’s a stick up their ass anyway.
Dewa is a different type from his friends. Where his friends were loud, obnoxious, and brass, Dewa has a superior complex in which he thinks he’s better than everyone else (honestly with that attitude, he might as well be part of the student govt. rather than a frat house). To this day, no one knows how him and Chitose are best friends.
But you can’t deny that underneath his glasses and that ridiculous derpy hat, he’s hot. A different kind of hot from Chitose, but hot (and that you really wouldn’t mind riding him, but that’s a conversation for another day).
He’s one of the few students who actually knows what the fuck is going on in your accounting class, so you couldn’t help but swallow your pride and ask him to tutor you (unless you wanted to retake this class for the third time).
So you both agree to meet up in the campus’ library during the weekend when its more quiet than usual and there’s not that much people around, and you’re not sure how you feel about that (but it’s only an hour long tutoring session. You will be able to tolerate him for that long, right?).
So far, the tutoring session has been pretty surprisingly quiet, aside from a couple of snarky remarks from Dewa, which you chose to ignore (considering your temper and mouth, that is a feat and honestly, you deserve to treat yourself once the session ends).
You were just about to think that maybe getting tutored by Dewa wasn’t so bad until you felt a warm hand slide up your thigh (you just had to wear shorts too, dammit).
You looked up at him in shock, only to see that he’s not even paying attention to you. Instead, his gaze was locked on your exam paper, and if it wasn’t for the hand on your thigh, you wouldn’t think he was interested in you. “Wow, you’re stupid. You seriously don’t know the difference between a balance sheet and an income statement? That’s some basic elementary shit right there,” he remarks in a bland tone.
“Shut the fuck up, I already told you that I don’t fucking get this shit,” you snap back at him. But as you two were arguing, his hand keeps sliding higher and higher till you eventually reach over and stop his hand.
Only then does he look up from the paper to glance at you. “I can leave if you’re not interested.”
You take a good look at him, wondering what he’s playing at. You decide to play along, eventually loosening up and letting his hand continue its journey.
Throughout the session, he “rewards” you with a kiss on different parts of your body (from innocent places like the inside of your wrist to more dangerous places like your inner thigh), every time you get an answer right. It didn’t take that long for you both to end the session quick, immediately rushing over to his dorm.
(And boy, did he look cute moaning underneath you while you rode the fuck out of him).
Maybe it was stupid of you to think otherwise, but you made the mistake of asking him about the next tutoring session, and how you guys can grab lunch right after.
The look he gave you made you feel like utter shit. “You don’t really think I’d go on a date with a girl like you, right? I thought I made it obvious that I have higher standards than Chitose.”
Despite the angry tears threatening to drop (dammit, you promised yourself that you would never cry over a boy), you immediately slapped Dewa before quickly dressing up and getting the fuck out of his dorm.
He’s not a fuckboy like his friends, but you’re beginning to think that he’s a lot worse.
Fuck him (and this time, not literally).
Eric
Probably the more intimidating one out of his group since you don’t think you can ever recall him with a genuine smile on his face (and no, those sinister smirks don’t count). But that didn’t matter to a lot of girls, including you.
Despite his quiet and standoffish demeanor, Eric is noticed for his Eurocentric features, accent, and witty remarks.
In your eyes, he fit the look of a European prince who has come to take you far, far away from everyone else and live happily ever after (yes, you’re in college, not in middle school).
You genuinely had a crush on him when you first saw him, but never had the guts to talk to him, let alone confess, since you’ve seen him coldly reject other girls (as much as you hate to admit it, you’re not good at dealing with rejection).
But you’re pretty sure you got over him since you now share an English literature class with him (you’re not sure why he’s even in this class if all he does is sleep) and actually got to know him. Somewhat.
Whenever you would participate in class discussions, whether it would be to discuss the current book you’re reading or to speak in english, you would always hear a smartass remark or question from him, which usually ends up with you looking dumb in front of the whole class.
It especially doesn’t help that he stares you down while he calls you out on any mispronunciations you make. And you don’t think you’ve ever felt as self conscious as you do in this class because of him.
You do hate him for it but you don’t really stand up for yourself against him (he’s too intimidating and you like to pick your own battles).
And to be fair, he’s probably just being an asshole. He doesn’t really know who you are (or care).
That’s what you thought until you go to the party thrown by his friends one night.
And maybe it’s because of the alcohol in your system, but you immediately snap at him when he mocks your broken English accent.
So used to you not speaking back to him, Eric couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow before letting out a chuckle. “So she speaks!” he says in a sarcastic tone. But before you can reply, he immediately leans over and kisses you.
You won’t deny and claim that you never thought about kissing Eric, you’ve had way too many daydreams with him. But this kiss was nothing like the kiss you imagined in your daydreams.
For someone who appears quiet and somewhat soft-spoken, Eric kisses rough, and it’s nowhere near romantic as you wanted it to be. His hands grip on to your shoulders tightly, before sliding over to your hips to pull you closer. You pull back from the kiss, in favor of placing kisses on his neck and collarbone.
(You didn’t imagine getting with Eric like this, but you weren’t going to let go of this opportunity, either).
He eventually pulled you into a nearby room, making sure to kick out the half naked couple that was on the bed. It wasn’t too long before he pounded into you while you were on your hands and knees.
Once it’s over, you were left staring at the ceiling while he puts his clothes back on. Without a word, he leaves the bedroom.
So much for a prince charming, huh?
Fujishima
The Soft Boy™
Double majors in animal biology and zoology to become a vet for fuck’s sake.
You start talking to him cause he’s probably the softest and sweetest boy you’ve ever met, despite his appearance.
But boy were you wrong (x2).
He listens to you attentively, offering kind words and good (generic) advice, assuring you that he’s nothing like those other boys (he’s lying, look at his friend group).
Tells you that unlike those other guys who want to fuck and dump you, he wants to get to know you and make love to you.
And everything is all fine and dandy until holy shit, you realize that this sweetheart you’ve been talking to, has a dark secret.
He’s a furry.
A. Goddamn. Furry.
Legit has a fursona in the form of an Ethiopian wolf (hint: cause its red). But he also likes dabbling into mythology so sometimes he would take the form of a lycan.
You indulge his fantasies for a while, thinking that yeah it’s weird but at least he doesn’t have a foot fetish (but it is worse than a foot fetish) and how no one’s perfect.
You wear animal costumes to sex. At first, it starts out with pretty normal costumes like a playboy bunny. Then it starts to get weird and oddly specific with wolf costumes, roleplay scenarios as animals during mating session...
Once you were finally close to getting into a commitment with him, he starts acting funny.
When you let him know that you’re not super comfortable with your eccentric foreplay, he gets offended and starts sprouting bullshit about you being just like the other girls, which is so disappointing cause he thought you would be different and actually understand his rather…unconventional needs.
Needless to say, you ended up blocking him. You needed to preserve your sanity, after all.

k im gonna throw in my hot take on part 5 now i think the time has come where i’ve watched enough of the damn series i can make a coherent essay on whats what on what (putting it under a read more bc this shit is gonna be long and i dont want my followers to suffer too much)
I’ll do this character by character starting with the new ones
Ami: I’m having a hard time deciphering whether she’s being underutilized or over utilized because number 1) her character isn’t interesting enough to have her keep coming around, especially when her only connection to the group is Lupin. She hasn’t had any interaction with Goemon or Jigen that i know of and she hates Fujiko for ??? reasons. That being said, I would’ve preferred if she was fleshed out more because 2) literally having her be the distant girl that is quiet and doesn’t understand social norms is..... really boring. It’s almost as boring as having a female character whose only there as a set of boobs... (coughs). She isn’t interesting because they didn’t make her interesting, yeah? It’s hard to hate a character based on the fact alone they were clearly written by a man but I mean it very literally when I say she could’ve been something great. Having her confess her love to Lupin was straight up disgusting and I really expected more from tms in that vein. Putting romance where romance doesn’t need to be is bad enough let alone when you jack knife it in between a child and an adult. And for those of you saying ‘Oh hhhh she’s like nineteen’....look into your heart. Even if she is 1) she sure as hell doesn’t look it and 2) Lupin is like 40-50. In the wise words of me, children loving adults was a myth made up by pedophiles in support of the devil. Npot to mention pitting her against Fujiko because they both like Lupin?? I ain’t even gotta explain why that’s a pathetic excuse at writing. But I will. Fujiko is a grown ass woman so why the fuck would she care and Ami is a child who shouldn’t be in love with him anyway. She has truly been nothing in the series except a tool and even at that not a likable one.
Yata: Do I even have to say that I can’t write anything about a man who hasn’t had more than 4 minutes of screen time in the last 24 episodes? He was hyped up before the series started and he’s done nothing but be Zenigata’s personality in the place of Zenigata y’know. Actually speaking and having one for himself BUT WE’LL GET TO THAT LATER. He’s done nothing but yell and cry over literally nothing? Like he fights Zeni’s fights because for some reason Zenigata got super lazy this season (again, we’ll get into that later) and he’s just a pointless character.
Albert: Gay rep for life haha just kidding he was bad at that too. I think they literally introduced him as faux-gay rep because they know the fans wanted more sensitive interactions from their already existing male cast members and they were like ‘well that’s gay so we’ll give them this guy’. And speaking on behalf of myself - ‘I don’t want these’. So Albert shows up, supposedly having a HUGE connection to Lupin’s past and then............we never see him again. And they literally tell us nothing about him except he’s gay and works in the government. Apparently when we say ‘we want gay rep’ they hear ‘very minor gay character??’ and didn’t hear us say ‘no’ back. And every time I hear anyone say 1) ‘well, his connection to Lupin is supposed to be a mystery!’ I can feel hives growing on my skin because i’m allergic to bullshit like if they weren’t gonna tell us the connection, and whatever the connection is didn’t reveal anything new about the character outside of ‘Lupin knew somebody that wasn’t Jigen when he was younger’ then why?? mention it?? why make an entire arc dedicated to not telling us something if the end result was ‘it doesn’t matter who he is’? 2) ‘well they’re obviously cousins’ except they obviously aren’t. if they obviously were, they’d say that they were cousins. like if y’all are digging up bits of the manga from 40 years ago to say ‘there was a character who had the same last name’ but are also out here saying ‘Jigen doesnt have a sister bc they said that over 40 yers ago and haven’t mentioned it since’ then I ain’t got nothing to say to y’all, you’re just dodgy and ain’t worth the stress of talking to. 3) ‘they’re maybe gay’ well the cool thing about gay rep is that we don’t give honourary mentions out for series that were too cowardly to actually come right out and say it. So in conclusion, Albert was written by cowards who couldn’t decide what to do with him.
Enzo: Boring. That’s literally all I have to say. Trying to give him depth by making Ami his daughter was predictable and not at all interesting. To be honest I completely forgot she was looking for her dad anyway because she didn’t seem to care that much about finding him either (or seem to care about anythign really). He’s a shitty villain and every time he speaks I got my finger on the right-key because I don’t care what he has to say and so far I haven’t missed anything good so yeah. Just disappointing.
I think that’s it??? For new characters?? So I’ll move onto the main cast
Jigen: I 👏 WANT 👏 JIGEN 👏 TO 👏 DO 👏 SOMETHING like good fucking God the man hasn’t done anything this whole series up until 24 where he got  5 minute scene dedicated to him killin’ cops (direct action) but like?? As a character he hasn’t progressed he has BARELY spoken and we’ve learned one new thing about him the whole series in the episode where he meets the daughter of a woman he used to work with. And that one thing that we learned was: he used to work with the mother of this girl. That’s it. Episode 24 he got a little bit of dialog with Lupin that I guess was supposed to be like character development but it was so weird because it was kind of directed at the audience?? So it’s like is he talking to me or to Jigen because if I was Jigen I would not have one goddamn clue what he was talking about. Also, he’s so depressing this season?? Right up until now we’ve seen very little personality from him aside from Angry and Complains a Lot. He smiles sometimes sure but like he doesn’t exactly have a lot to smile about this season considering he’s not really in the limelight anymore and is only brought back to foreshadow how much he hates technology and wants to retire. Personally, Jigen is one of my favourite characters and the fact he hasn’t achieved much this series is a big let-down
Goemon: I can’t even imagine how let down Goemon fans feel because again, up until Episode 23 he did nothing. He had an episode where he fell in love?? With a girl?? Disguised as a woman?? For some reason?? It was in one of the throwbacks and I’ll admit that maybe the episode made sense and I probably missed something but to me I had no clue what was going on. ANYWAY like his big scene in the spotlight is 3 episodes before the end of the series (its not like he’s a main character or anything) and he cuts Lupin. Because he thinks that he isn’t really his friend. That’s it that’s the only reason he almost murders his friend. Just kidding the other reason was that it was a half ass attempt at shock value to make sure the audience was still paying attention. They can’t seem to decide this season whether they want Goemon to be edgy or stupid but I think we’ve gotten a greta big helping of both so thanks tms /sarcasm/. They’ve really just dragged his character through the mud this season because he used to be stoic, mysterious, traditionalist but lowkey clumsy guy and then now he’s. I don’t even know how to describe it he’s just become so cutesy and edgy at the same time so we get him cutting Lupin in half right in front of UwU i eat my fish skin first ! I’m quirky ! like what am I supposed to feel about this grown man? He’s really too back-and-forth for me this season
Fujiko: I’M GONNA GET HEATED ABOUT THIS ONE SO BUCKLE UP I’ve never seen Fujiko written this poorly since TWCFM (yes i’m outting that as a bad series too so don’t @ me about that lil tidbit). She’s there as a piece of eyecandy bUT SHE IS SO POORLY DRAWN IT MAKES ME WONDER IF ANYBODY AT TMS HAS EVER SEEN A WOMAN IN THEIR LIFE TIME. Seriously her proportions are so off and outwardly repulsive looking it makes it hard not to skip anything she says in the series on account of how half-ass her character looks. Not limiting herself to being visually repulsive, she also has a half-ass personality. Suddenly Fujiko isn’t the come-and-go as she pleases, mysterious woman that gives Lupin intel on very high security operations she’s just. There. At some point in the series she said ‘a woman’s body is just a tool to get something she needs’ and I wanted to puke this is NOT Fujiko’s character at all and I’m disgusted that they’re brushing her off as a pair of walking talking boobs. Also her absolute lack of empathy is just mind numbing because they’re somehow trying to convince the audience that Lupin broke her heart due to wedding related reasons that still haunt her but? Seeing him cut almost in half does nothing for her? And then she deadpan ‘This is just how it is’ like this is just putting her in such an evil light that I hate because I love Fujiko! In every other season she’s fighty and sarcastic and witty AND NOT JUST THERE FOR EYE CANDY. And going back to the wedding thing, why is this being made into such a big deal? There’s literal episodes in other seasons called ‘Fujiko Doesn’t Look Right in a Wedding Dress’ ‘Fujiko Doesn’t Want to Be Married’ ‘A Ring Is Like a Trap’ like she 👏 don’t 👏 want 👏 to 👏 be 👏 married 👏. And the preview for the next ep shows her in a wedding dress so I’m ultimately preparing myself for the big season finale being them getting married.
Tumblr media
hurray.
Final thought on Fujiko being, the episode where she picks up Lupin to save him from succumbing to his crossbow wound (easily the funniest thing thats happened all season) I mean. Yeah it’s kinda cool. I don’t really have any strong feelings about that like I’m not about to praise them for something like that when it was immediately followed by her and Ami slap fighting over him again.
Lupin: In my days of watching Lupin movies/specials my slogan was ‘if the ratio of screen time in the movie between characters is 10:0 in Lupin’s favour then it ain’t a good movie’ and it’s ringing true to this season where it’s all about Lupin. I understand obviously it’s a series called Lupin III like I’m not stupid but the amount of ass kissing to his character is something else like they’re putting him on this huge pedestal like he’s a do-no-wrong kind of guy to the point where he’s boring because he’s done nothing wrong. Ever. He doesn’t argue with anybody he doesn’t have any strong emotions really (outside of that episode where Zenigata loses his memory we see him outwardly angry for a minute). It just makes him such a dry character when they try to mold him into being absolutely flawless and admirable. Also the amount of faking his own death and ‘oh no is he gonna die’ moments are just not entertaining. Like I said earlier when he got shot with the crossbow that was the hardest I’ve laughed in a long long time. It played like an SNL skit (you know what one). And again we aren’t learning anything new. Whose Albert to him!? We never got to know, What’s his relationship to Fujiko!? We’re probably gonna find out they’re getting married last episode after all the touching moments they had together this season like.... like uh.... when they uh... oh right they’ve barely spoken to each other all season. And when they did they were arguing. Love is in the air huh?
Zenigata: AI’ll try to keep this brief but Yata’s taken over his character this season. He’s barely spoken, he has like, NO energy or determination. After the episode where Lupin faked his death (the first time, not the proceeding 90 times) Zenigata just stopped appearing and stopped doing anything productive. If anything his character became an excuse for an info dump. Like oh we see a war torn area whats going on? Zenigata is conveniently nearby to say ‘these people are at war!’ and then outside character will tell a 18 paragraph history on him of whose at war and their history and then Zenigata says ‘okay’ and doesn’t appear again for the next 2 episodes.
Now for the closing thoughts I guess
i don’t know why they’re looking at Lupin having plot as separate from Lupin being episodic. Like they’ve separated him from adventure so he’s just doing the same things over and over again. Not to mention like I said earlier, the fans wanted to see more sensitive interactions between the already existing characters, and if anything, they’re farther apart and just really confusing and contradictory. It’s hard to get through an episode when every week its another ‘great time for another plot arc they’re never gonna finish’. When I watched episodes of Part 1 and 2 and 4 (not so much 3 because i can’t find anywhere to watch it lol) I’m pretty attentive all the way through because the series drops tidbits of information about the characters and they make the episode enjoyable to watch. This season is so dreary and dry I can’t find anything to enjoy about it because it’s just one disappointment after another. I’m trying to to sound bitchy as I type all this out but I mean I’m speaking as a fan who is just really disappointed. I know I’ve said ‘disappointed’ a lot in this whole thing but there isn’t another word to describe it because that’s really the way that I feel about part 5. Seeing my favourite characters on screen is supposed to make me feel happy and excited to see where they’re gonna go and what they’re gonna do not make me think “I hope they don’t ruin this character for me’ in every. single. episode. This season has been underwhelming, unenjoyable, inconsistent and just really exhausting to me overall.
i gotta go eat now so peace out and if you read to the end of all this then hopefully i’m not the only one in this boat but if you don’t agree with me then i guess thats just how it is yeah?
EDIT: I forgot to mention that the callbacks were cool at first but now I just find they’re baiting me into thinking i’ll enjoy the episode because i’ll find something I liked from one of the better seasons in it. They’re just really overused at this point because these callbacks aren’t being used for anything. like ‘lupin is making his plan at the cagliostro castle!’ like. why. ‘detective melon is also angry at lupin!’ but if she isn’t like teaming up with zenigata or actually doing anything to find him why should i care.

3,255 words. CW for canon-typical violence, mentions of depression and other mental health issues. CW especially for anxiety attacks/PTSD in this chapter.
Apologies for the delay in updating - I was busy with Mikototsu week, and then busy over Christmas, and then January deadline season was kicking my ass.

It hadn’t been long since Anna’s birthday, but it felt like all of a sudden, the lull after the opposition to Homra reforming had shattered, and it seemed there was some new commotion every few hours. Rumours were that the Blue clan had it worse, but the change of pace had still been somewhat jarring. At the moment, though, there was a brief period of calm, and the Red clansmen had gathered to chill out in the bar as they had done so often before Homra had dissolved. Being busy was kind of nice, though - things almost felt like they were getting back to how they’d been before Homra dissolved.
“Hey, Yata-san… Looks like Anna and Tatara fell asleep,” Rikio pointed out. The two of were curled up together on one of the couches in the bar, with Anna’s head resting on Tatara’s arm.
“Guys, don’t just stand there, put a blanket on the little lady,” Yō interjected, picking one up to drape it over the sleeping pair.
“Yeah, it is getting pretty chilly these days,” Masaomi agreed.
“Chitose… I heard you and Dewa had a scuffle with the Blues last night,” Misaki asked.
Yō rested his arm on his friend’s shoulder, clasping a cigarette between his lips as Masaomi pulled out a lighter to ignite it for him.
“Oh, that was just a run-in with the pretty Lieutenant,” Yō explained.
“I guess they wanted to save face. But they were on our turf so we couldn’t back down. In the end, Kusanagi-san stepped in to bring things under control,” Masaomi added.
“I see.”
“Eric and I also came close to clashing with the Blues,” Kosuke interjected from the other side of the room. “At least it didn’t blow up into something bigger.”
“Those Blues had been on constant alert lately and keep poking around,” Eric said.
“You guys too?!” Misaki cried, exasperated.
Meanwhile, Shouhei turned to Saburouta, leaning over him and resting his hand on his shoulder to peer at the screen of the laptop he appeared to be concentrating intently on. “Hey, San-chan, what’re you up to?”
“Hmm? I’ve been noticing a lot of activity on the net…” Before he could elaborate on what exactly he meant, something appeared to catch Saburouta’s attention, and his brow furrowed. “Hey, what’s this?!”
Shouhei leaned forward, staring at the screen as he made a noise of apparent shock.
“What is it, Shouhei?” Misaki asked.
Whatever it was, it seemed to have him deeply perturbed. “Take a look…” he said, and the rest of the clan gathered around the screen of the laptop, muttering. They fell silent at the sight of the video on the screen, though.
Pixelated text reading “Homra is over” unravelled across the screen, then vanished, replaced by a Homra insignia, once again in a pixelated style, as though it was from some retro games console. It was accompanied by almost eerily cheerful-sounding chiptune music. Over the top, brightly coloured writing reading “the end of Homra” rose from the bottom of the screen, and then the screen turned briefly black once more. Immediately after, a short, video-game style animation played, showing the sprite of Tatara on the roof of a building, being shot by another sprite who was clearly supposed to be the Colourless King. Misaki glanced back over his shoulder at Tatara, who was blessedly still asleep.
“The weakest clansman really was the weakest…” the text appeared across the top of the video, and then the image changed once more to a sprite of Mikoto wearing a crown, approached once more by the Colourless King’s sprite. There was a flash and the Colourless King vanished, and Mikoto’s sprite flickered and got smaller like a character in a game who’d lost a life. The crown was gone from atop his head.
More text reading: “…But the foolish King became even weaker!”
The screen went black again, and large blue lettering reading: “KING HAS FALLEN, HOMRA IS DEAD” appeared, followed by the text: “GAME OVER.” The video finished on that screen.
There was a moment of quiet after the clip ended as the clan collectively seethed, almost too angry to speak.
Rikio was the first to break the silence, pulling out his phone and dialling Izumo. “Someone should go tell Mikoto-san,” he said as the phone rang.
When Izumo picked up, Rikio put him on speaker. “Kusanagi-san, we came across something…”
“Was it the video?” Izumo cut in.
“How did you know?”
“It was just broadcast across the city.”
“It was what?!” Misaki cried.
“Yata-san, you’ll wake…” Rikio started chiding, but as he turned to face the pair napping on the couch, he saw Tatara was already sitting up, and Anna’s eyes were open.
“Why does everyone have such serious expressions?” Tatara asked, still drowsy.
“Come see…” Rikio said gravely, and the two of them got to their feet and headed over to the screen of the laptop that Rikio was gesturing at. Saburouta hit play once more.
“I’m on my way back now, get Bandou on trying to track where the signal is being broadcast from,” Izumo said.
“On it,” Saburouta replied, waiting for Anna and Tatara to finish watching the video.
“Don’t do anything until I get back; we need to work out how to respond to this.”
The video’s end screen flashed up on the monitor as the clip finished its second playthrough, and Tatara sighed lightly, as though it was nothing more than a minor annoyance. “It seems like they’re just trying to get under our skin, like they want to provoke us. I agree, we should figure out how to deal with this in a measured way, otherwise we’re just playing into their hands. Does Mikoto know?”
As if on cue, the door that led upstairs to the apartment above the bar opened, and Mikoto stepped through. “Know what?” His hair was somewhat fluffy, like it’d just been blow dried, and it hadn’t yet been styled.
“Have you seen the video?” Tatara asked.
“It came on the TV.” There was a tension in his posture that betrayed his irritation with the situation.
Misaki, who appeared to have been stewing in his anger, finally reached bursting point and blurted: “We can’t just let them walk all over us! People have tried to make us mad before, and we’ve shown them that it’s a mistake, because when we get mad it ends badly for them, not for us!”
“It could be a trap,” Rikio pointed out.
“Our actions are up to Anna,” Tatara said gently.
She nodded, having remained in pensive silence since the video ended. “They want to provoke us, and we shouldn’t do what they want. We’ll pay them back for their disrespect, but we should wait for Izumo and decide what to do. We shouldn’t play into their hands.”
“I have the location,” Saburouta cut in. “It was really easy to find.”
“Isn’t that a bad sign? Do you think they’re trying to lure us into a trap?” Kosuke asked.
“It could be,” Akagi replied.
At that moment, Izumo opened the door, looking slightly harried, obviously having rushed to get there. “What’s the situation?”
“We’ve located the source of the feed, but it was suspiciously easy,” Tatara said.
“Depending on who it’s comin’ from, it’s either a trap or they’re just sloppy. My instinct’s the former,” Izumo said. “I doubt it’s from any o’ the smaller scale resistance we got when we first started reforming. They don’t have the resources for this kinda thing, and they’ve quietened down since we taught ‘em a lesson.”
“Who else could it be?” Eric asked.
“Jungle, maybe. Sceptre 4’s Lieutenant says they’ve been having issues with the Greens. If it’s them, it’s almost certainly a trap.”
“Well, it’s the only lead we have…” Tatara pointed out.
“Anna, what do you want to do?” Izumo asked.
“We can’t ignore the lead. We should send a scout ahead,” she said, looking at Misaki. “But the rest of us shouldn’t be far behind, so we have the manpower to fight if it is a trap. Show them we’re too strong to be messed with, and if they provoke us, it will only end up burning them.”
“I can do that,” Misaki replied enthusiastically.
Anna nodded her consent, and he rushed to grab his skateboard as Saburouta sent him the address, and then she glanced up at Mikoto, as though to ask if he approved of her actions. He gave her a small nod of endorsement, and the clan prepared to leave.
As they headed through the doors of the bar, Mikoto said quietly to Anna: “Ya don’t need my approval for everything. You’re your own King. Even if you do things differently, maybe that’s better.”
“Okay.”
“…You’re doin’ a good job,” he added.
Anna smiled faintly. “Thank you.” She paused, then added. “You aren’t weak.”
He lay his hand on her shoulder affectionately, and what could have been the ghost of a smile flickered over his lips.
When the clan arrived at the location, it seemed Saruhiko had also been sent ahead of Sceptre 4, and predictably, he and Misaki were already locked in a heated scuffle.
“Yata, that’s enough!” Izumo called as they entered the building, and at almost the same time, Seri’s voice rang from the opposite side of the foyer as Sceptre 4’s special forces squad arrived.
“Fushimi! Stand down!”
The two disengaged with discontented grumbles, and re-joined their respective clans. As they did so, Tatara noticed Mikoto looking around out of the corner of his eye.
“What?”
“We’ve been here before. While you were in hospital,” he explained.
“My my, you all seem quite upset, aren’t you, Homra?” Reisi said from the other side of the room, adjusting his glasses.
“Damn right!” Misaki shouted. “Mikoto-san and Totsuka-san were slandered. We’ll make ‘em pay!”
“Kusanagi Izumo, we want you to back down,” Seri said. “We will deal with the Green Clan.”
“Sorry, Lieutenant Awashima, but Yata’s right. Those idiots have to find out the hard way that messing with any of us means getting burned. And I mean literally,” he replied, pulling his lighter out of his pocket and toying with it between his fingers. “That’s the only way Homra will be satisfied.”
“If you put it that way, we’ve been taken for fools too,” Reisi reasoned. “This choice of place is no coincidence, don’t you think?”
Mikoto chuckled humourlessly.
Suddenly, Anna tensed. “They’re here!”
Reisi rested a hand on the hilt of his sword. “Don’t watch from behind the lines; show yourself.”
As he spoke dozens of figures stepped forward, looming from the balconies higher in the building – the upper floors were teeming with men in black and green masks, who seemed to outnumber Homra and Sceptre 4 put together 4 to 1. Most of them held PDAs in their hands.
“The bait was so obvious, and you took it!” an electronic-sounding voice called down to them.
The ambush began muttering excitedly amongst themselves, something about points, and the names of Red and Blue clansmen drifted down to them. The two clans in the foyer prickled with mistrust, anticipating a fight.
Another distorted voice broke through the mumbling with a gleeful shout: "So anyway, we have nothing against you guys, but it's all for the points! So die for us, will ya?"
The masked men were laughing, almost jubilant, as they pulled what looked like green parrot plushies from their pockets. It was eerie how eager they seemed to try to kill dozens of complete strangers, all for the sake of points on some phone game? The realisation of just how twisted Jungle's philosophy was settled uneasily over the two clans in the foyer as the Greens threw the parrot toys down onto them. As they hit the ground, they swelled as though they were about to burst, but before any harm could be done, the Blue aura swept outwards to envelop the members of both clans, knocking the toys away and forming a protective cocoon around the clansmen. Dozens of ear-splitting bangs echoed through the room as the toys exploded, seeming to shake the very air in the building, and clouds of thick, grey smoke obscured everything outside of the protective bubble of the Blue aura.
The smoke cleared with a rush of air, and the Greens looked down in shock to see the two groups of clansmen standing unharmed.
"What's going on?"
"Why aren't they dead?!"
"Such a vile and disgusting sedition," Reisi said gravely. "Our lock-up is not what you would call comfortable. I hope you're prepared."
"I can vouch for that," Mikoto added.
"You said Homra is dead? Don't you know? We have a new King. A strong King who rivals Mikoto," Izumo announced as Anna stepped forward, holding her head high.
"You disrespected and laughed at my family." As she spoke, her aura blazed around her, filling the room with crimson light. Her Sword of Damocles rose into the sky above the glass roof of the building, just as Mikoto's had all that time ago. "I won't forgive you."
The sight of her gave Tatara chills.
"Shall we begin then? For our cause is pure!" Reisi announced, and behind him, Seri cried out:
"Men, draw your swords!"
As each of the Blue clansmen raised their blades with a flourish and their aura sparked upwards from their feet, Izumo said: "Time for us too."
"Don't let those Blues get all the credit!" Misaki cried.
The rest of Homra didn't need telling twice. As the Red aura swirling around them burned hotter still, they raised their fists and stomped their feet against the tiles.
"No blood! No bone! No ash! No blood! No bone! No ash!" The chorus of shouts echoed preternaturally through the building.
Mikoto normally didn't take part in the chant as King, but Tatara noticed this time, he was joining in - he didn't stamp and punch the air like the others, but he murmured the words along with them. Something about the gesture was heartening.
"Do not let the Red clan outshine us!" Seri cried, directing her men forwards. The sound shook Tatara from his thoughts.
"Leave this to me!" Misaki shouted, running forwards to initiate the counterattack.
Meanwhile, the Greens had recovered from their initial shock and were preparing their plan B, pulling sub-machine guns from their backpacks and taking aim at the clans below.
Tatara had just enough time to freeze up at the sight of the weapons before the deafening chatter of gunfire began. After a second, he felt Mikoto’s arms wrap around him, pulling him in tightly against his chest, but the sensation was hazy, like Tatara had been out in the cold and his skin was beginning to go numb. He felt cold; the terror that the sound, so loud and so close, instilled in him was like ice water dumped over him, seeping into his veins. His legs crumpled beneath him, until Mikoto’s strength was all that was keeping him from slumping onto the floor. He was vaguely aware of an aura surrounding the two of them, but not whose or even what colour, and its presence brought him no comfort. The scar on his ribcage ached, and the fear was suffocating him, and he was hyperventilating and felt like he couldn’t breathe all at the same time. He was more afraid than he’d been that night on the rooftop when he thought he was dying, because then he’d been resigned to it, but now…
I don’t want to die I don’t want to leave them there’s so much I still want to do I don’t want to die I don’t want to die I don’t want to die
The panicked, half-coherent thoughts were almost drowned out by the gunfire.
Tatara only barely registered the fact that he was suddenly outside, evidently having been ushered out of the building by Mikoto. He was only alerted to the change of scenery by the way the wind made the tears on his cheeks feel cold.
“You’re safe. You’re safe,” he vaguely heard Mikoto reassuring him, but it didn’t quite register beneath the clatter of the bullets that Tatara barely even noticed subsiding as, one by one, the Greens abandoned their mission as a lost cause, spooked by the way the auras of the other clans rendered their weapons ineffective. It wasn’t until the echo of the shots ringing in his ears finally subsided completely that Tatara really understood what was being said to him.
“Breathe,” Mikoto said.
It took a while, but Tatara slowly forced his aching lungs to inhale and exhale in time with Mikoto.
“I’m… s-sorry…” was the first thing he managed to say.
“It’s okay.”
“I e-embarrassed… Anna…” Tatara’s voice hitched on his tears every other syllable. “They th-think Homra’s weak… I proved them r-right…”
“They’re running scared in there. They don’t think Homra’s weak.”
Tatara sniffled, wiping his eyes on his sleeve. His hands trembled as he did so.
“Do you want me to stop carrying a gun?” Mikoto asked softly.
“I can’t ask you to…”
“Yes you can.”
Reluctantly, Tatara nodded.
“I f-feel… stupid…”
“It’s not your fault.” As Mikoto spoke, he rubbed Tatara’s arm comfortingly. Somehow, the tenderness of his voice and his touch was helping to soothe Tatara’s racing heartbeat now that the gunfire had ceased. There was something about the way someone normally so gruff and frightening as Mikoto handled him with such gentleness that was deeply comforting. Still, Tatara didn’t know if he quite believed what Mikoto said about him not embarrassing his clan. He was embarrassed with himself, at least – it was rare the rest of Homra ever saw him upset. He was so careful to keep up appearances as a cheerful and carefree person, but it seemed like he’d broken down in front of everyone more times in the last few weeks than he had in all the years since the clan formed put together. It was endlessly frustrating, and Tatara didn’t know why he was struggling so much to keep it all in.
After a moment, the door opened and Izumo emerged.
“Totsuka, you okay?” To Tatara’s relief, Izumo only sounded concerned – there was no disappointment or anger in his voice.
Tatara managed a shaky nod.
“How did it go?” Mikoto asked.
“They turned tail ‘n’ ran as soon as they realised their weapons didn’t work against auras, didn’t even get a chance to fight ‘em. They disappeared with their tails between their legs before we could even get up to the higher floors of the building. Couple o’ the clansmen are giving chase to see if we can catch any of ‘em and interrogate them, and I think the Blues managed to round up a handful.” As Izumo spoke, he pulled a handkerchief from his pocket and handed it to Tatara. “No one blames you, ya know. I figure I’d’a reacted the same if I’d been through what you had.”
Tatara nodded slowly, wiping his eyes and blowing his nose. Somehow, hearing the confirmation come from someone other than Mikoto was more reassuring – after all, Mikoto was biased.
“Mikoto, there’s somethin’ else you should know,” Izumo continued.
“What?”
Izumo gestured upwards at the two Swords of Damocles circling above the building, and the debris slowly crumbling away from Reisi’s. Mikoto’s brow furrowed.
“I figure you should talk to him about that,” Izumo said.
Mikoto grunted in agreement, a troubled look on his face as he watched the dust float down from the cracks in the blue Sword.

The Road Trip
Fandoms:  K Priject Rating:  G Note:  This fic is the return back to a fandom I hadn’t been back to in a good while and with the “7 Stories” Movies coming up what better way to go back but to get started with the trip back home LET’S GO TO SHIZUME CITY!
Shizume City It was a very quiet day in the city and by quiet JUNGLE/Cathedral weren’t causing nearly the chaos they should have been and the HOMRA bar was getting lively with customers but nowhere near where they could be and Izumo Kusanagi ,The Bartender of HOMRA, knew that well.  He knew there was a spark that was missing and he silently hoped it would come back cos he knew himself that business ,while not down, wasn’t where he would have liked it. At Scepter 4 things were almost in that same vein While the strains were minding their business and not causing havoc the “Youngbloods” were trying to keep themselves occupied with their studies and the Captain and King in Reisi Munakata ,while messing around with his puzzle that he had sitting on his desk, was having a hard time focusing.  Even messing with Fushimi (which could be a fun pastime if done right) wasn’t one of those things that held its appeal when he knew that there was something ELSE that was missing and he needed to see it come back into the city...he and everyone at Scepter 4 knew EXACTLY what they were missing! And THEN there was that gentleman that roamed the city Yukari Mishakuji The former swordsman of JUNGLE ,after turning on them a good while ago, was now employed at a very successful flower shop in the city and for the most part didn’t have to deal with a lot of problems with JUNGLE.  Even after the events of years past now he was pretty much clear of their problems but there was a part of him that wishes he could get back to just erasing those people one by one by one. There was ANOTHER issue with him He missed HIM One common thread that Scepter 4 ,HOMRA and Yukari all had in common was their interactions with a young man that changed all of their lives and it would be a lie if any of them said they DIDN’T miss him because oh did they! The Youngbloods of Scepter 4 missed their mentor HOMRA missed their “secret weapon” on Fridays for the “Kids Day” they started holding when he was there And Yukari...well he missed his man and EVERYONE knew it!  Heck there were times when he would go bug Kuroh at Isana’s place because he missed his man that bad!  This of course annoyed Kuroh so bad that he just told him to leave him alone and “If Joshua loves you like we all know he’ll be back...give him time I hear he’s very busy with his other work as is” and Kuroh was right cos every time he turned on the TV Joshua was working with one of the idol groups he was affiliated with in Tokyo or he was working on his own concerts...but it didn’t mean he would never come back...right? This answer would come soon enough Tokyo in the QN Compound “So you see friends” Joshua started “We have an interesting schedule between now and around May.  We got appearances for HEAVENS coming up and I know QN has at least one concert so there’s that...anything else I’m forgetting?” Joshua asked and Camus was the one to speak up on everyone’s behalf “Curtis-San...when is the last time you went home?” Camus asked and this caught Joshua off guard and had to try to figure out how to answer the question “I-I am home boss.  I was just going over part of our schedule between now and May.” Joshua explained but Camus wasn’t going to give up on the question so he tried another way “Alright...when is the last time you were in the ‘City’?  Surely you miss those people don’t you?” Camus asked and this time Joshua was really caught off guard but he didn’t get angry and just answered as honestly as he could “First off I am going to assume by ‘City’ you mean ‘Shizume’ correct boss?” Joshua asked and Camus nodded before he continued “Very well...I want to say...its been a while.  Do I miss it a little?  Yeah I do but I also am happy to be here with you guys and help you all out you know?” Joshua asked and everyone in the room (the members of QN and HEAVENS collectively) all nodded in agreement.  Camus however knew what had to be done “You know its rare that I TELL you to go do something anymore.  You are pretty much programmed into my routine that I don’t have to tell you anything.  This time however Joshua I am GOING TO TELL YOU that I want you to take an extended vacation.  We have Nanami as a backup so we aren’t going to skip a beat here but I have a strange feeling that there are people back in Shizume that want you to go home to see them.  I also have a feeling one of them is a very talented swordsman that even I won’t mess with!” Camus explained and when Joshua heard this he looked at everyone in the room and decided to ask the question that needed to be asked “Is this how you all feel?” Joshua asked and when everyone nodded he knew what he had to do. “Very well...tomorrow I will go on a bit of a vacation into the City.  Might help with some boredom issues cos I admit wholeheartedly I had dealt with those so I will go cure them and return in time for the concert in May.  Is that a deal?” Joshua asked and everyone nodded but Camus wanted to make something clear so he had to step in. “I know you won’t miss that concert in May and we all look forward to it.  Just don’t go neglecting your friends over there after that.  We appreciate your loyalty here but you are also needed THERE!” Camus exclaimed with extra emphasis on “there” and Joshua knew what that meant.  He was OFF TO THE CITY! The Next Day To say that Joshua had a rough night sleeping after packing was an understatement but it was one of the worst nights he had in a while because he was going back to see a lot of good people and those people kind of felt needed him but he could never outright say it cos he didn’t want his friends there to feel like crap either you know?  As it was when he got up he went and got changed into something a little less formal...even if one of the places he was going to go visit WAS Scepter 4 he didn’t have to get into Uniform for today so he got on a t-shirt and some blue jeans and sneakers and after a breakfast that Kira prepared for him he was out the door to his car to head off to that famous bridge that he has crossed before and he was very happy to start the journey...even if it was a good 3 hours from the QN’s place! When Joshua walked out the door Eiji ran up to him to make sure he had his ID to get into the city and also to get into Scepter 4 when he stopped over.  He knew what security check was like so he made sure he had everything and Joshua showed him just like always that he was prepared for the big trip.  After that Eiji nodded and gave him a big hug before saying his goodbyes and Joshua got in the car and headed off Was the trip a quiet one?  Nah you know Joshua had to have tunes going in the car all the way over and as he was taking the familiar route to the City that he traveled times before his first thought went to Scepter 4 and the boys he helped mentor ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The Youngbloods Joshua still remembers the day the boys created those special armbands for their group.  At first Joshua thought it was a little silly but when Akiyama and Enomoto explained how important he was becoming as a teacher to them and they wanted to really become his students he couldn’t help but smile and take them on because of how important an impact he was becoming and he wanted to keep that bond with them.  Even with his absence Domyouji told him in messages that they were keeping with their studies and they were looking forward to if he were to ever come back to the group...boy were they going to be in for a shock! ------------------------------------------------------------- HOMRA After Mikoto’s death and Anna taking over the role of “King” in the Red Clan things started changing and she came up with ideas along with Kusanagi about how to make a bar that ,to be fair was more of a clubhouse, more accessible for the public and they started to redo their image after that.  It wasn’t until Joshua came in though that things really started changing for the better and the energetic gent started to help get a younger crowd to come in and he always enjoyed hanging out with the young ones.  While he always gave Anna the credit for the idea she always looked at Joshua as one that really could carry the idea out.  According to Anna it was JOSH that should have become the new King but Joshua always joked that “I don’t have that kind of power...you are far better than I could ever be” and she always left it alone after that. And THEN there is HIM --------------------------------------------------------- Yukari Mishakuji The incomparable swordsman formerly of JUNGLE.  The man that ,Joshua credited for saving his life and changing his outlook on a lot of things.  If it wasn’t for Yuari there was a chance that Joshua could have physically been fine but mentally been so screwed up that he couldn’t be repaired!  If it wasn’t for encountering each other there are those that think that they wouldn’t be the men they were now and for that they are both grateful and have said as much to people when they asked. --------------------------------------------------------- As Joshua closed in on the bridge he pulled over to the curb and got out of the car to walk up to the entrance of the bridge and after running his hand up and down one of the sides for a few minutes a noticeable smile appeared on his face and as walked back to the car and got in to start the engine he couldn’t help but blast some good jams as he crossed the bridge and made off to his first stop HOMRA When Joshua took the familiar streets and saw familiar faces walking up and down the sidewalks he smiled and waved at each of them before pulling into the alleyway that he always would use for his parking lot! Best part...no one saw him “I FRIGGIN’ TOLD YOU I CAN HIT A KICKFLIP OFF THIS CURB AND I’LL DO IT DANG IT!” Yata yelled at Rikio who just faceplamed “Bruh every time you do that you end up crying for 20 minutes cos you skinned your knee and then Anna has to go get the first aid spray” Rikio explained and Yata just pouted “He’s right you know” When Yata heard this he assumed that it was Kusanagi that was making the statement but he was just diddling on his phone so he looked at the other members who just shrugged and then the voice made another comment “You know...if Saru heard you say the thing about hitting a kickflip he’d thing it was ALL you were gonna hit...but that’s just my opinion” “WHY YOU I SHOULD BASH YOUR SKULL IN WITH THIS BASEBALL BAT!” Yata Screamed before rushing at the person but when the person calmly deflected the bat from him he smirked and turned to Yata whom looked like he had seen a ghost when he realized who it was “CURTIS-SAN...WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!” Misaki asked puzzled and Joshua just smiled before responding “Oh...Let’s just say I was given a vacation from an employer in Tokyo and he ordered me to ‘Return Home’.  Let’s just say I have a lot of those here so I figured this would be the first one I stop at cos I missed you guys and gals!” Joshua excitedly told Yata and Kusanagi was even more surprised when he heard this “Does this mean you will be coming back to help out on the ‘Kids Night’ that we do?  We could really use the help again.” Izumo explained and Joshua happily nodded “Of course my friend and its well known also that YOU my friend have a birthday coming up...we need to properly celebrate that so we shall in due course I promise!  Now listen I don’t like to cut these visits short but I need to go stop at two other places before heading home for the night.  Good to see you all again and we are back in business I promise you that!” Joshua excitedly proclaimed and with that he took his leave but not before nearly getting dogpiled by everyone...until Izumo told them to chill cos if they hurt him they wouldn’t have his help for the upcoming weekend jobs. Next stop:  Scepter 4 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This one was a bit more of a pain in the butt because he needed to make sure he had his Scepter 4 creds but that wasn’t a problem cos of Eiji reminding him to bring his other wallet and he did so he went up to the scanner and and they let his car into the parking lot which was ALWAYS a pain to get into...no seriously getting into the alley he used to park for HOMRA was always blasted easier! ANWAYS Joshua got into the parking lot and put his other wallet away and so that he didn’t get the creds he needed confused and when he walked into the building and saw the famous stairway he was to walk up if you ever wanted to know what a real GIDDY Joshua looked like imagine the Nintendo 64 kid on steroids 10x alright? As Joshua made his way up the stairs and hung that familiar right to the hallway where the HQ was he could hear the most comical argument ever “Come on Andy...we know that God’s S.T.A.R. is legitimately the more superior song of the 3 Triple S songs...the actual sales proved that!” Goto yelled and Andy had to cover his ears his friend was so loud “Okay that might be but there was something about Immortal Inferno that was just A MILLION TIMES BETTER and everyone with a sense of music knows thi!” Andy hollered back “We adding debate to the curriculum...I’m down” Andy and Ren snapped their heads in the direction of the voice they heard and the smile that came on their faces were INSTANT!  THEIR SENPAI WAS HOME! “CURTIS-SENPAI!” They both exclaimed and hugged their teacher and Awashima happened to peak her head out of the Captain’s office to see what all the racket was about and when she saw even she was uncharacteristically happy!  Like she could be happy but it was moments like seeing her “Son” return that made her quite happy “Its a pleasure to see you again Joshua.  I trust that your trip was an enjoyable one?” Awashima asked and Joshua nodded before replying “It was...even if getting into the parking lot is still as convoluted as ever.  I legit get into the HOMRA alleyway easier but I understand why also.” Joshua explained and Seri chuckled because she was remembering here issues with the parking in the area. “Oh its bad...I had to curse security one time cos of the issues with the scanner.  Do you have time to see the Captain or will you be leaving us today?” Seri asked and Joshua had to think for a second before he made his response “Since I am back for the foreseeable future I will come back in a day or two.  For now I have to go see one more party and then head to my home here.  Tell Our esteemed King I’ll be back in a few days or so alright?” Joshua asked and Seri nodded before heading back into the office and Joshua did as he said and made sure to say his goodbyes to his boys before he made his final stop ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yukari’s Flower Shop This place was one that Joshua had stopped at many times before and every time he goes in its always a more exotic place. Alright there is ONE correction we need to make The Flower Shop isn’t REALLY Yukari’s but because he is the one that grows a lot of the different flowers they sell there the owner practically calls the shop his and it helps to keep his mind off of what he had missing in his life.  The one person that could POSSIBLY make him whole! But he didn’t have much longer to wait As the car pulled in front of the shop near the outskirts of the city and Joshua got out all he had to do was stare straight to the back of the store and he saw the gent that saved his life from being mentally crippled! As Joshua walked in he made his way straight to the back and when the swordsman realized who it was the “Oh my God” look on his face appeared and then he ran up to Joshua and just gave him the biggest hug possible!  To say that he missed him bad would be foolishly understated and the sound of muffled sobs that came from Yukari were all that Joshua needed to know how bad he was missed by his boyfriend.  He knew he shouldn’t leave him for these long periods and but at the same time Yukari has been way more than understanding about his other job but he was glad to get to see him again and that was a fact! “C-Curtis-Chan?  Y-You’re back...YOU’RE BACK?!” Yukari yelled and Joshua smiled and nodded before speaking “Yes my dear Yukari.  I’m back and I don’t think I am leaving again for a good while.  I’m here for you and to go work with my boys in Scepter 4 and such.  I missed them and most importantly I definitely missed you and I would be lying if I said that I worried about you while I was gone.  I’ve just been so busy with work that...well you know I’m sure.” Joshua explained and Yukari nodded as he continued to wipe the tears from his eyes but he was so happy he couldn’t stop crying.  Joshua took him to the back to get him cleaned up and then after that the owner let Yukari off early because of “Special Circumstances”.  Yeah this was definitely one and Mishakuji was definitely very happy to hear the news! As Joshua and Yukari walked out of the shop arm and arm together there was one thing Joshua wanted to do: He got out his PDA and issued the following command in it “Road Trip Status:  COMPLETED!” For Joshua this “Road Trip” and the reunion with his friends and loved ones...was the greatest thing he ever pulled off and now he knew one thing Joshua was in fact...HOME!

Chapter 04 - Desperate
Misaki stared at his friend with wide eyes and a slackened jaw only for Kamamoto to nod in the direction of a nearby cafe.
"Let's go and sit there." he suggested, walking towards it. Misaki only nodded and followed silently behind him, his mind a whirlpool of jumbled thoughts and unasked questions. Saruhiko...odd as it seemed, had sacrificed himself for Kamamoto. Putting aside the fact that this definitely topped the ‘What the fuck’ charts of this reality, Misaki was confounded when it had happened. And how. When he was back to his rightful timeline, Misaki wasn't going to lose an opportunity like this to tease the younger into oblivion.
Not when, his mind traitorously whispered, If. If you go back.
His heart squeezed painfully but he pushed the feeling back, trying to focus on the matter at hand.
When they were both settled, a waiter came to take their order and since it would look really rude, they each ordered a glass of juice. A quick glance around showed that the café didn’t have much of a clientele, just an odds customer here and there. Misaki fidgeted in his seat and faced Kamamoto squarely only to have him sigh and slouch into his seat.
"Mi-Yata-san," a wave of relief and familiarity washed over him as he stared back at the taller man in front of him, listening intently "Do you remember the time...back in elementary school, when I was in the second grade - do you remember when we went all the way over to that rich ass neighborhood?" Misaki frowned, trying to comb through his jumbled mess of memories, sorting them out until his eyes brightened.
That day.
"Oh yeah!" he called out excitedly, "It's that day with the bus incident right?" Kamamoto gave him a small wry smile before his eyes focused on the glass of juice that had been set in front of him, all traces of that smile wiped from his face.
"Yeah," he said, slouching even lower, "It's the day you told me to go get a bus ride home because you were just gonna call your mom so she could pick you up along with your bike."
What?
Misaki stared at Kamamoto, puzzled.
"No, that's not what happened." he said slowly, trying to not sound accusing, "I did get onto that bus with you remember?" It was Kamamoto's turn to look baffled.
"No, you didn't." the other insisted, eyes narrowing slightly as he frowned, "I remember because-" the rest of his words trailed off as his eyes became a bit unfocused and his mouth curved downwards. "I will always remember..." Kamamoto said, whispering now - it's a good thing Misaki inherited his hearing powers from his mother. Misaki waited but the older boy said nothing more, his eyes staring at nothing at all.
Misaki was confused.
So he hadn't ever gotten on that bus with Kamamoto? Why? It wasn't anything special - nothing to do with this messed up world.
"The reason I joined HOMRA was so I could be as strong as Yata-san back then. You were so cool standing up to that gunman."
Right. So that's why Kamamoto wasn't a part of HOMRA. And Misaki had always thought Kamamoto was lying just to make him happy.  Of course, that didn't explain why Kamamoto had brought up the incident in the first place.
And why hadn't Misaki been on the bus? He should have been. His mother was right; he had been missing something. Something in his gut told him that he was close to the answer he was looking for - he just needed to probe in the right direction.
"Oh yeah, I forgot..." he lied, rubbing the back of his head, laughing nervously, eyes trained on the silent hunched figure before him, "So what happened then?" Kamamoto's gaze snapped back at his face and Misaki had to make a conscious effort not to reel back in shock.
Kamamoto's eyes were shining with unshed tears.
"I never told you...because I thought you'd feel guilty or something because of your stupid hero-complex," Kamamoto said, hands gripping the glass so tightly, Misaki feared it would break, "But that bus - that bus was hijacked."
No shit. Misaki thought, forcing himself not to roll his eyes. Externally, he widened his hazel orbs, pretending to be shocked.
"What, no way!" And if he sounded anything less than surprised than he was sort of glad Kamamoto was in no state to notice. The older man nodded.
"Yeah, sorry I never told you." Misaki waved his hand impatiently.
"Irrelevant. Get back to what happened next." He urged, wanting to know what happened.
"Yeah, so when I got onto the bus, this guy, he randomly grabbed me and this one silent brooding kid from the back. You know, to hold us hostage." Kamamoto's hands were shaking very badly now, his entire body sitting stiff, "He took us to the b-back of the bus."
In his mind, Misaki could still see that day clearly. The way that bastard had grabbed Kamamoto, when he had hauled him at the back, with a gun pressed against his temple. He remembered feeling cold and scared and angry at his helplessness.
"And then-then the other kid pulled out some fireworks from his bag and handed them to me."
That brave smart kid. Misaki didn't remember his face all that well, just that he had dark hair and wore spectacles.
"He barely managed to pass me the lighter when the gunman caught us."
Misaki remembered forgetting his fear and being consumed in a state of desperateness when he saw the man pick up the kid by his collar, pointing the gun at him. At that moment, nothing had mattered except getting him away from danger.
"And then-" Kamamoto's voice cracked, before he took a giant gulp of air, trying to steady himself. A single tear ran down his face. "Then he told me to light them up and throw them at the bastard."
And Kamamoto never got to do it. Because at that moment, Misaki had come barreling in, tackling the bad guy, freeing that kid so he could throw the fireworks himself.
Misaki had come...
But Misaki hadn't been on the bus.
Something began to coil up inside the redhead, dark and cold.
Misaki hadn't been on the bus.
He missed what Kamamoto said next, not entirely sure why his body was trembling.
Misaki hadn't saved that boy.
Black hair.
Spectacles.
Remember Misaki....
Black hair that swept across messily against his forehead.
Remember...
Blue eyes and a small hesitant smile.
Misaki...
"Saruhiko." the words sounded foreign in his mouth. Kamamoto was saying something but Misaki didn't care - didn't care because he remembered.
Misaki must be missing something important.
Tears filled his eyes and Misaki had to blink fervently to keep them from falling down his cheeks. No, he couldn't cry in front of Kamamoto. He had to stay strong. He had to.
"And that's how I found out his name was Fushimi Saruhiko." Kamamoto finished, looking pale and distraught, "I just wish- I just wish I had been strong enough to do something you know." He gulped and shot Misaki and teary grin, "I bet if Misaki had been there, he'd have been so cool and would have been able to save everyone. Even Saruhiko. And then we would have all been friends." No. This time, it was Misaki's body that shook with emotions. They wouldn't have been. Because they would both walk away, not knowing, not remembering.
A bitter taste had settled in his mouth.
He needed to get away.
"I need to go." he said thickly, getting to his feet, swaying a bit. Ignoring Kamamoto’s worried calls, he swiftly made his way out of the café, gritting his teeth tightly, hoping he wouldn’t cry. He didn’t even have a destination in mind but kept walking, not knowing how to handle the load of information that had been dumped on him.
Saruhiko was dead.
He was dead because Misaki hadn’t been there to save him.
He was dead because Misaki made a stupid wish.
Coming to halt, he stared at the building in front of him.
Broken, run down.
Definitely not where two middle schoolers should have been squatting. A small smile tugged at the corner of his lips as he fiddled with the handle a bit and entered the tiny place he had rented with Saruhiko all those years ago. Crossing the threshold, he looked around, suddenly lost in the thought that this place had never seen any of his and Saruhiko’s memories. These walls had never been covered in posters. The loft above had never been occupied by a sulky teen who shared his dreams of taking down the world. Tears pooled in his eyes once more as he collapsed to his knees, just staring at the place which held everything and nothing at the same time.
Sorry – I am so sorry.
Saruhiko – despite constantly believing that they didn’t exit – had died a hero. He had done what he himself had refused to believe in and helped someone while being genuinely concerned for someone else’s well-being.
The irony of it wanted to make Misaki laugh but the tears wouldn’t stop and the pain wouldn’t go away. Dragging himself to and upright position against the wall, he stared ahead blankly.
So what now.
He had the answers. Now what was he supposed to do with them?
Where are you Saruhiko, you bastard! I need your help!
Except, he knew exactly where Saruhiko was.
Buried six feet under the ground.
You should visit him.
He didn’t know who whispered that in his ear – or who’s voice it was he heard. But it made him slowly get to his feet and make his way to the outside world again. Casting one last look at his old – their old home, he closed the door firmly behind him.
For the second time in his life, their small world held inside shattered into a million pieces behind that closed door.
“I need to know where he’s buried.”
Standing before the Blue King, awkwardly shifting from one foot to another, he stared resolutely at the bespectacled man, who was watching him with unblinking eyes. Munakata Reisi tilted his head.
“You wish for me to disclose an information you shouldn’t be privy to?” Misaki gulped. He had known this was coming. For one he should have considered himself very lucky that the blue king had even granted him an audience – what was he, if not the HOMRA vanguard or Saruhiko’s best friend.
You are worth so much more Misaki.
And he believed that. He had a high school diploma. He had a stable job, was working to save up for a college. His family loved him, he had friends.
Mikoto san and Totsuka san were alive.
But –
“You…you probably have heard the story from Kusanagi san.” Misaki said, looking at the other man in the eyes, not balking under the scrutinizing gaze. Munakata nodded.
“I have indeed been in contact with the HOMRA bar tender. Though it confuses me why your story seems to have affected the outcome of a certain Red King.” Misaki looked away.
“I have a theory about that…”
“Oya?” Misaki blinked at the realization that the Blue King looked intrigued. “Do share.”
“Well, Totsuka san died because Kusanagi san wasn’t there to protect him. And that’s really because Kusanagi san believed no one would harm him because HOMRA had grown so much. But-“ he gulped, continuing on, trying to not show how his hands were shaking. “But with Kamamoto – without some of the founding members – without shit even me or Saruhiko, Kusanagi san would have never let down his defenses like that. He’d be on the constant look out. That’s – that’s what I believe.” Violet eyes studied him for a long while before sharply turning to look at the puzzle that was spread out before him.
“That is quite the deduction Yata Misaki kun.” He said finally, after what seemed like the longest pause recorded inhuman history. “Personally I believe that there might be some involvement from the Green clan as well, but we may never know.” Misaki nodded, not sure where the conversation was going. Mentally deciding to go to Fushimi’s old house and search for clues, he began to say good bye to the Blue King.
“Farewell Yata Misaki kun. And it might interest you to know, I cannot give out a private detail of someone else’s life.” Misaki nodded once more as the other continued on. “One of my subordinates almost died when I became the Blue King. I always thought that if he had, I would have buried him in the cemetery near the south side of the city.”
“What are you-“ All the pieces fell into place as he bowed low before rushing out of the doors, almost running into the blonde woman coming inside, startling her greatly.
“I won’t forget this you shitty four eyed bastard!”
“Fufufu~ Awashima kun, I think I like that boy.”
“Captain, please don’t say such absurd things.”
 Fushimi, Saruhiko.
Misaki blinked at the empty grave stone. No words of how he was a loved son. Nothing. The grave was unkempt and uncared for. The area around it was overgrown with weeds and it had been hard for him to locate the grave in the first place. Moments before giving up and angrily cursing the blue king in his head, Misaki had nearly walked off but a small hint of gray had caught his eye and he had followed it to the most miserable excuse for a grave ever.
If not for a single dead rose on it, Misaki would have assumed no one had visited for over a decade.
Saruhiko…
Rage Misaki hadn’t felt in ages against his best friend’s parents surfaced once more and he clenched his teeth together, tears once more blinding his vision, falling like rain over his cheeks.
Saruhiko…
Those bastards.
How dare they.
How dare they leave the greatest person on this planet leave as if he wasn’t loved.
Goddamit, Saru was loved!
Maybe not by his parents. But Saruhiko had proved a very long time ago he did not need the people who created him – he was quite capable of surviving – well not on his own, but without the, at the very least. And he had so many other people in his life now.
He had his clan and King! And Anna and Kusanagi san! And him!
Saruhiko always, always had him.
“I love you Saruhiko.”
The words slipped out of his lips with such ease that he started. Love. He didn’t really love Saruhiko did he? A small feeling began to grow in his chest as he stared at the grave stone in front of him, a heavy blush staining his cheeks. Before he could even try to talk himself out of it, the realization hit him with a force of a thousand ton of bricks. Oh God – this was just –
Tell the truth.
Is this what the strain was talking about? Was he supposed to confess? Getting redder and redder at the thought, he coughed. Here goes nothing…
“Saruhiko!” he said out loud, facing the gravestone, “I love you!”
“Who on earth are you?” Whirling around, his eyes widened at the figure standing there, eyebrow raised at him.
“Y-y-you!”
Aya Oogai frowned at him, holding up a bouquet of roses.

Inspired by the recent ask , can we have something about burden of killing a king on Fushimi in more details ? ( the one where he kills mikoto )
Continuing with this ask, I think Fushimi would just continue to be a mess about this one for a while. As far as the burden of the physical action he's mostly fine, both arms intact and since he's not a King himself there's no worry about a second Damocles Down like what happened with Munakata either. I do like to think that there would be some physical consequences though, especially since technically the King power is such that it should be able to turn back something as simple as a sword thrust even if the King himself was willing to be stabbed. Maybe Fushimi just ends up with a lot of physical scars from what happened (I went with this idea in that one fic I wrote where Fushimi had to kill Munakata, the idea that he has scars all over his arms afterward) and of course Fushimi being Fushimi he is constantly picking at each and every one of them, not allowing them to close or to heal because he figures this is the sort of thing he deserves, more scars that don't fade.
Obviously this would affect his mental state a lot too and I imagine Munakata in particular trying to do what he can to ease that burden, still feeling the sting of his own failure in that sense because he had to let his own clansman do the duty that should have fallen on him. Fushimi likely wouldn't be very open to Munakata's efforts though, I think he would just be very focused on taking all the blame for Suoh Mikoto's death even as he tries to convince himself that this is what he wanted, that he hated Mikoto anyway and that this was almost a good thing for him that he actually got to kill that guy. Really though I could see Fushimi just having nightmares about the whole thing, recalling again and again what it was like having to be the one who ran Mikoto through, and basically doing his level best to deal by refusing to let himself actually deal with any of the emotions that keep threatening to overwhelm him because that's how Fushimi basically handles anything that requires him to confront his own feelings.
From an outside standpoint it would be interesting to see how Fushimi's viewed too in that sense, like obviously characters like Yata, Kusanagi and Anna are going to have more complicated feelings about this but I wonder if Fushimi would even find himself targeted by the Homra rank and file afterward for being 'the man who killed Mikoto-san.' On the jungle end he probably would be worth even more points and when he later joins them Sukuna is quick to point out to Hisui that this is the guy who killed a King and can they really trust him. Fushimi just leans into that again though, grinning and saying that's right, he did kill a King, and Sukuna's even more distrustful towards him – especially knowing that Fushimi was once in Homra, like now not only has he betrayed two Kings but he's killed one too. Hisui would probably be more chill about it though, like if Fushimi wants to try and kill him he's welcome to try, that's part of the game too after all. (And then imagine at the end of ROK when Anna's summoning all her power it's Fushimi who sees that vision of Mikoto, smiling at him and telling him he's fine just the way he is, and Fushimi just looks away and mutters that he won't apologize for it, and Mikoto's not forgiven for it either).

To save Yata, Fushimi makes a deal with a demon; in order to bring out the demon's full power, one must indulge their every desire. The more desires indulged, the more powerful the demon is-- unfortunately, Fushimi's greatest desire is to keep Yata all to himself.
Hmm...Fushimi slow descent into yandere because all he wants to do is protect Misaki? Imagine this takes place like during ROK, like say Fushimi at one point while he's in jungle decides to just take a look at the Dresden Slate up close. In doing so though he like manages to briefly be affected by the Slate's power and it gives him a vision of the future, a future where Yata will try to infiltrate jungle's headquarters with Homra and end up dying when jungle's hideout crumbles. The force of the revelation drives Fushimi to his knees and he's just like digging his nails in his palms, breathing hard and refusing to believe that what he saw is true. That's when he hears a 'voice' from the Slate offering to help him and a 'demon' created from the Slate itself appears in front of him (think evil version of Slate-kun from Circle Vision).
The demon offers to use its power to save Yata but in return Fushimi has to allow it to like use his body as a host. The demon's power is based on desire though and by merging with it Fushimi is suddenly like overcome by his own desires to the point of physical pain. The demon tells him that the only way to protect Yata is to allow his desires to run wild, the more Fushimi indulges himself the more powerful the demon becomes, and the more likely that the demon will be able to save Yata. Fushimi tries to tell himself that fine, he'll just indulge his desire for betrayal and that will be enough but the demon won't allow him to lie to himself so easily – Fushimi must indulge his strongest desire, and that desire is Yata.
So then imagine in this AU Fushimi does run into Yata multiple times after he joins jungle, he's seeking Yata out because the only way he can indulge himself is to be near Yata. When they fight he becomes much more fierce too, like he's allowing Yata to beat him up more because every moment that Yata's eyes are on him it's like an even stronger feeling of pleasure than he's ever had before, the demon multiplying all the feelings Fushimi usually has a hundredfold. Finally at some point Yata gets Fushimi pinned and he's all pained, asking Fushimi how he could betray everyone, and Fushimi just leans up and violently kisses him. Yata's too shocked to move but this like unleashes all his hidden feelings and soon he's kissing back, he doesn't know what's gotten into Saruhiko all of a sudden but this is something he's always wanted and all his own feelings are just bursting out...and then Fushimi promptly knocks him out.
Yata wakes up later in this hotel room, having no idea how he got there. The door is locked though and he can't destroy it with his powers, it's like reinforced with blue power keeping it shut. Yata's trying to figure out how to escape when Fushimi shows up. Yata's initially angry at him but then Fushimi kisses him again, hands all over him and Yata's like what the hell is wrong with you. Fushimi admits that the 'betrayal' was a farce and he like spins it so it sounds like the reason he's keeping Yata here is part of a secret plan to defeat jungle, like he needs a trump card when he finally reveals the location of their hideout and that's why he's keeping Yata here. Yata isn't so sure about that but he's also kinda happy that Fushimi didn't really betray anyone and that Fushimi is trusting him this way, like maybe he's finally ready to be friends again – or more, every time Fushimi comes to see Yata he wants to kiss Yata and touch him and Yata's totally in love with him but also feels like something's wrong here, there's a desperation to Fushimi's movements that make him feel like he's missing something (and then maybe eventually he manages to spot Fushimi talking to the demon and realizes that Fushimi's been possessed, so now there's Fushimi trying to save Yata by making his deal with the demon and Yata's trying to save Fushimi from the demon itself).

Couldn’t get this out if my head - Brother AU where Yata and Munakata are half brothers. I just can’t get the reactions of everyone finding out. Like say during group missions with red and blue if it looks like Yata is about to be injured Munakata will jump in to be big brother and save Yata. Which in turn confuses some squad members to spark rumors of them dating. Cue Fushimi who has a freak out and doesn’t know how to ask if they are true or not. The stress gets amplified when Munakata tries to get lunch with his little brother cause that’s what a big brother does. And that since Munakata is the big brother he is allowed to call Yata “Misaki-kun” (Yata does not see it this way). Or that he’ll stop by HOMRA and Yata’s part time jobs to check up on him. It eventually comes to head when one member of the blues decided that enough is enough and that Yata should be more considerate other feelings and he should treat who he’s dating better. They rally the troops and go off to find Yata who’s walking around with the rest of the HOMRA crew and confront him. This leads to Yata having to scream at them that he is not dating their boss that would just be gross. Cue blue member asking back wants wrong with our captain anyone would want to date him. Yata feeling attacked bites back I’m not into incest that’s why before going red in the face embarrassed. Shocked and confused pikachu faces. Yata explains your captain’s my brother before leaving to go into hiding. The two squads part ways with everything making a little more since and when the blues get back they pass the information around that no the two are not dating and that they are brothers. Fushimi goes from relieved that Misaki is not dating he annoying captain to anxious that Misaki and the captain are related (Sarumi for the win...sorry). The blues now understand the relationship and the reds now have jokes like “you brother poached your boyfriend” or “hmm you better go say hi to your big brother” whenever they see Munakata out. Idk I just couldn’t get this idea and several others out of my head and was wondering your take on the different reactions of the two clans or how they all find out.
I am honestly very amused by the idea of the clans assuming Munakata and Yata are dating only to find out that they're related and probably thinking why does the idea of them dating suddenly feel like the more realistic one. Like say Munakata's always wanted to be a doting big brother to Yata but Yata's never liked him, like imagine by the time they are aware of the other's existence Munakata's already in high school preparing for college (oh maybe Munakata was the result of like Yata's dad having an affair before Yata was born too and he finally decided to leave Yata's mom for his mistress and so Yata also kinda dislikes Munakata for that even though he technically didn't have anything to do with it). Munakata never gets the chance initially to do much with his younger half brother, he only meets Yata like once before going to college and it's not until he becomes the Blue King and sees who the members of Homra are that he's very intrigued to discover his little brother has been busy in his absence.
Of course Munakata has always secretly wanted to be a big brother himself and now he's like determined to foster some brotherly affection between himself and his unruly younger sibling. Yata has no interest in this whatsoever and he also doesn't want anyone to know that he and Munakata are related because how uncool would it be for him as a member of Homra to be the younger half brother of the stupid Blue King. This does not stop Munakata from trying to be the best big brother he can be, which leads to moments such as Munakata noticeably stepping in to save Yata from being attacked by a Strain during some mission where Homra and Scepter 4 ran into each other, or giving Yata special attention whenever they run across each other (also he doesn't stop Fushimi from riling Yata up but maybe he keeps trying to encourage Fushimi in his own way to be more honest with his feelings, like a good big brother he wants to help his sibling find love too). He also refers to Yata within earshot of other clansmen as 'Misaki-kun' which is what really gets the rumor mill going, like did you hear the Blue King and Homra's Yata Misaki are on a first name basis with each other.
The Scepter 4 and Homra rank and file are soon all gossiping about it and of course Fushimi hears it eventually too. At first he blows it off as ridiculous but then imagine he hears Munakata call Yata 'Misaki' too and he's confused and irritated and doesn't know why the idea of this upsets him so much. Meanwhile imagine one day Yata runs across some Scepter 4 guys and he can't resist making some comment about their stupid King, the S4 alphabet are pissed that Yata could speak so cruelly of his supposed boyfriend. A few other members of Homra and Scepter 4 happen to be in earshot as the arguing progresses, the S4 boys thinking Yata needs to be ore grateful and is this how you treat someone in your type of relationship while Yata's mad thinking Munakata told everyone that they're brothers and that's the type of relationship they mean. He's like that guy's always smothering me and trying to act like we're close, the S4 boys are like so you don't even think you're close to the guy you're dating. Yata's immediately like what the fuck we're not dating we're brothers you sickos a moment before he realizes that no one actually knew and now he just told everybody his 'big secret.'
This of course opens a whole new can of worms for Yata, on the Homra side while no one questions his loyalty I'm sure the Homra guys can't resist teasing him sometimes about being 'the Blue King's baby brother.' The Scepter 4 guys like to use this to taunt Homra with too, like shouldn't you show respect to your vanguard's more successful brother. Fushimi is initially still a little bewildered by all this but I can totally see him using it as ammo to taunt Yata too, like noting Munakata got all the height in the family (and meanwhile Munakata's probably continuing to try and get the two of them to reconcile and finally admit their feelings, if only so he has an excuse to suggest that Fushimi also call him 'big brother'). Munakata only knows that Yata told everyone they're brothers so he assumes this must mean Yata has embraced the strength of their filial bonds at last and he's even more eager to bond as siblings should, poor Yata is like I should have just said we were dating.

Fushimi has always had a terrible life and his happy place is in his dreams where he would play with this kid named Misaki and where life is okay. He thinks Misaki is just an imaginary friend from his dreams so he does stuff he normally wouldn't do with him and even tell Misaki his problems. He find out in middle school that Misaki does exists but think it's a coincidence and keeps avoiding the other cause he's sorta embarrassed but truth is that they'd been sharing dreams this entire time.
That's called 'destiny,' Saru XD So imagine poor miserable little kid Fushimi, with no friends and terrible parents and he basically has no one he can confide in at all. He's pretty much resigned to always being miserable and then maybe one day shortly after Niki destroys his anthill Fushimi has this dream, that he's sitting in an empty playground on the swings all alone. He just sits there, swinging a little bit, when all of a sudden this small red haired kid comes flying over and just slams onto the swing next to him, laughing and smiling. Fushimi looks at him coldly, like what's wrong with you, but the kid just smiles back at him and introduces himself as 'Yata Misaki.' Fushimi calls him 'Misaki' and Yata gets mad, and somehow it's funny and makes Fushimi want to call him that more. Yata doesn't know how they got here but he's glad Fushimi is here too. Fushimi says this is his dream and Yata says he must have cool dreams then, like look how high we can go on the swings. They end up playing a game of who can swing higher and when Fushimi wakes up he actually feels this moment of happiness, like for a minute he was enjoying a game with a friend, before he remembers that it was just a dream and he's still all alone.
After that he dreams about Yata a lot, especially when something bad or painful has happened and he's feeling particularly lonely, he'll go to bed wishing Misaki was there to hold his hand and find himself in the park again and Misaki always comes running to see him. Since it's just a dream Fushimi's able to be more open and honest too, like he doesn't need to hide beyond the whole facade of being a cold jerk who doesn't want anyone near him because after all a dream can't reject him, it's his dream. Even though he's a dream sometimes Yata will act in ways Fushimi doesn't expect, zero or a hundred points, and that's another one of the things he likes about Yata, that almost makes Yata feel real. Fushimi tells Yata a lot about his terrible home life and Yata always says one day he'll find Fushimi and save him from all that and Fushimi knows it won't happen because this is just his mind wishing it could, but still sometimes when he's sick or alone he finds himself looking out his window and wishing Misaki was real and could come save him.
Then Fushimi starts middle school and he's sitting in his seat when a very familiar looking redhead walks in. Fushimi tells himself that it's just a coincidence but then when everyone's introducing themselves to the class he hears the name 'Yata Misaki' and Fushimi's just shocked, like Misaki really is real. Fushimi had been hoping for that all this time but now that it's true it's like the worst thing because if Misaki is real Misaki can reject him too and hasn't Fushimi been showing him the most embarrassing sides of himself all this time, all those secrets that Fushimi never wanted anyone to know that he confided in Yata. Fushimi thinks Yata probably pities him or thinks he's pathetic, a crybaby leaning on a person in a dream, and even though he's aware of Yata constantly staring at him through class Fushimi refuses to look at him.
Fushimi manages to successfully avoid Yata for a few days before Yata finally catches up to him after school. Fushimi acts all cold to him, like how do you know my name anyway and Yata's all nervous as he's like 'so, this probably sounds stupid okay, but I've been having these dreams for years...'. Fushimi clicks his tongue and tries to act like he has no idea what Yata's talking about but Yata won't give in that easily, like even if Fushimi doesn't remember any of those dreams Yata remembers them all, his best friend who he's never seen when he was awake...until now. And then Yata says that he meant every word he said in those dreams too and he knows it took a while but he's here now, and he's going to save Fushimi from every terrible thing that ever tries to hurt him, he's going to make sure Fushimi's never alone again, because now that he knows it's real he finally has a chance to help the most important person in the world to him.

Chitose creates a secret Tinder account for Yata without his knowledge. Partially to prank him, but also in hopes that it will finally get Yata laid. He's kind of shock by how much interest is expressed in Yata's profile (far more than his own), and tries to find a way to a way to trick Yata into attending these dates/hook-ups. But something always goes wrong before Yata can even meet up with any of these people. It's 'cause of Fushimi. If anyone is going to de-virginize Misaki its gonna be him.
Aka 'that time Fushimi found Yata's Tinder account and made it his mission to be sure Misaki never gets laid.' Maybe Chitose gets tired of Yata being such a virgin and figures they need to do something about this, like if we don't step in that guy's never going to get laid. Chitose then gets the 'genius' idea to make Yata a Tinder profile, Dewa's like there isn't much point to that if he doesn't use it. Chitose figures Yata doesn't need to use it though, Chitose will just like 'curate' the whole thing by running the profile himself and then tricking Yata into attending the dates without Yata ever knowing about the whole Tinder thing. Dewa feels like this is not going to end well but Chitose thinks it's genius (plus if there are any really cute girls Chitose can try to swipe them for himself). He's pretty surprised when Yata's profile starts getting a lot of attention right away, at first he figures maybe this is like newbie's luck but soon it's clear that Yata's even getting more hits than Chitose's profile does and he's kinda annoyed about that. This makes him more determined to get Yata laid though, like once the experiment is a success he can shut down this profile and then try to figure out what it is about Yata that's catching so much interest ('Is it the virginity?' he wonders, as Dewa throws a hat at him).
The next part of the plan involves having to actually get Yata to attend these dates and Chitose assumes that will be the easy part, just tell him he has to meet like a Homra informant at a bar and let things go from there. The weird thing is every time Yata goes to the designated location he comes back confused and asking if Chitose had the right place because there was no one matching the description he was given there. The first time it happens Chitose shrugs it off, like okay maybe it was a catfish thing and the description was wrong and they were too embarrassed to show themselves to Yata. The next couple times though it becomes clear that there's something wrong. In desperation Chitose schedules Yata to meet someone at like a street corner that he knows Yata passes every day on his way to Homra from his part time job, when Yata reaches the bar though he mentions that it's weird, like four streets he usually uses were suddenly closed for road work and he had to take this really wide detour. Chitose is really starting to get annoyed and he's wondering if there's something wrong with this app, like why is no one actually showing up when they're supposed to. Then Yata's profile gets mysteriously hacked and eventually deleted, Chitose doesn't get how this could have happened. Dewa listens to him complaining like gee I have no idea anyone we know who has genius hacking skills and would have a vested interest in making sure Yata doesn't score a date, Chitose's like yeah me neither it's so weird. (Fushimi meanwhile finally got tired of having to scare off Yata's dates and just decides next time he'll do the hacking part first and save himself the extra effort.)

AAA can we get a part 2 of that AU where Yata's rich and he meets Fushimi at one of the rich kid parties? Maybe the reconciliation of it, or the explanation as to how, even though Yata left, he kept looking for Fushimi?
So continuing on from this ask, Yata and Fushimi used to meet at parties until Yata runs away from home and then poor Fushimi feels super abandoned. After Yata leaves home and joins Homra he tries everything he can to find Fushimi, like even though he's happy to be part of Homra and he finally feels like he has somewhere to belong his greatest regret is that he couldn't save Saruhiko too. Knowing only Fushimi's name isn't as helpful as he'd hoped, maybe Kusanagi offers to help Yata out and uses some of his contacts to try and track Fushimi down but with no luck. Any letters sent to the actual correct address are initially destroyed by Niki, who naturally couldn't let his precious monkey play with anyone but him, and then once Niki dies Fushimi moves and is unreachable. Yata's always got this little bit of melancholy in the back of his mind, like sure he's safe and his life is cool but he's always wondering where Saruhiko might be and what he's doing now.
Obviously this then becomes something of a shock to Yata years later when he's hanging around with Homra and they run into a Scepter 4 patrol. Yata's been dealing with Scepter 4 regularly ever since he joined Homra and so he doesn't think anything of this, just more Blue dogs that he has to chase away. That's when a knife hits the ground in front of his skateboard, sending him flying, and Yata hears a voice that he only vaguely recognizes – it's twisted now, nothing like that hushed gloomy voice Yata remembers so well, but even so he would know it immediately. Yata looks up in just total shock as he says Fushimi's name, seeing this guy standing before him with a different haircut and blue clothes but still Yata knows right away that this is Saruhiko.
Yata's happiness at seeing Fushimi is immediately dampened by the way Fushimi treats him, Fushimi being all cold and mocking and just clearly painting himself as Yata's enemy. At some point Fushimi refers to himself as 'the person you left behind' and that just hits Yata hard where it hurts, because maybe he really did leave Fushimi behind and isn't this his own fault. They fight and Yata returns to Homra all miserable, like he was so happy knowing that he finally found Fushimi again but here they're on opposite sides and Fushimi hates him. Somehow the 'opposite sides' thing doesn't upset him as much as he thought it would though – Yata always hated Scepter 4 but now when he thinks about them he just thinks about Saruhiko being there and it's like even if Fushimi's a Blue Yata doesn't care, he just wants to be Fushimi's friend again.
He wonders if Fushimi ever even got any of his letters and maybe that's how he eventually starts breaking down the wall between them, the next time they meet Yata just throws this letter at Fushimi's feet. Fushimi wonders idly what this is and Yata says it's one of the letters he sent, that got returned because of a bad address. Yata has a lot of them and he's going to show Fushimi each and every one, because he needs Fushimi to know that even though Yata's found a place where he's happy, even though he managed to escape his miserable home and finally feel accepted, Yata still has been searching for Fushimi all this time (and then Yata, who hates the Blues most of all, actually ends up bowing his head to Munakata in thanks – because all Yata wanted to do was save Fushimi and he couldn't, but at least someone could and to Yata that's all that really matters in the end, is Saruhiko was able to be saved).

Yata can see ghosts. His best friend is Saru, whose spirit left his body since he's currently in a coma (caused by his father). Yata promises Fushimi that his father will face justice for hurting Saru. He is able to achieve this with the help of Homra, a group of paranormal investigators (Anna is the only person able to communicate with ghosts in Homra) and S4, a special division of police. After his father is arrested, Saru finally wakes up because he feels safe enough to return to his body.
I like this idea that Fushimi could technically return to his body at any time, he just chooses not to because it's like 'safer' being with Misaki as a ghost, as long as Niki's around. Like say Yata's always been able to see ghosts ever since he was a kid, he used to get really freaked out by them but by high school he's largely gotten over that and he usually tries to do whatever he can to help the ghosts move on and their spirits calmed and all that. He does pretty good, like he mostly runs into ghosts who just need some small thing done that's within Yata's power and it makes him feel like a secret superhero being able to help them.
One day when he's at school the teacher is taking attendance and makes a comment about how 'Fushimi's absent again, huh?'. Yata starts to say 'wait but Fushimi's right there' and he stops himself, realizing that the kid who's been sitting at that desk at the head of the class for the last week can't be seen by anyone but himself. Even as Yata watches Fushimi clicks his tongue and stands up, walking out of class and no one but Yata even notices. After class Yata decides to go find Fushimi, thinking that he can't believe one of his classmates died and no one noticed but him. He finds Fushimi hanging around outside the school and Yata calls to him, Fushimi ignores him and Yata's like hey I know you can hear me. Fushimi glances back like 'so you can see me, huh?' and Yata gives a friendly smile as he says that if there's something he can do for Fushimi to help him go peacefully Yata's there. Fushimi gives him a cold look and says that if Yata's looking to feel good and be praised he should look somewhere else.
Yata's kinda hurt about that but he also remains determined to help this 'wandering ghost.' He starts trying to talk to Fushimi at every opportunity, Fushimi initially ignores him but eventually starts giving small answers and such and Yata can kinda tell that Fushimi isn't enjoying being invisible to everyone as much as he's trying to pretend he is. Fushimi also starts hanging around Yata more, like instead of sitting in his old seat during class Fushimi will lean over Yata's shoulder and complain about how terribly Yata does his work. Yata soon figures out that Fushimi's kind of a genius and Yata starts to think that Fushimi's really amazing, like Yata's never found anyone so easy to talk to before. At some point once they've really become friends Yata says he wishes Fushimi was alive to be next to him and Fushimi gets really evasive, just shrugging and saying isn't this fine, he and Yata can talk to each other and that's all that matters.
One day when Fushimi's not around Yata decides to talk to the teacher about setting up like a memorial for Fushimi, which is how he finds out that Fushimi isn't dead, he's just in the hospital in a coma. Yata's shocked by that and decides to go visit him, wondering if there's a way he can get Fushimi back in his body and then they can finally touch and be together for real, without worrying that Fushimi's going to fade away. Yata manages to get into Fushimi's room by claiming to be a friend from school, he's staring at Fushimi's unconscious body when ghost Fushimi shows up and yells at him to leave. Yata doesn't understand why Fushimi didn't tell him the truth and Fushimi clicks his tongue and says it isn't important, 'that guy' is coming and Yata needs to hide. Yata's all 'that guy?' and suddenly the doorknob turns, not knowing what to do Yata dives under the bed. He's crouched down there hidden by the sheets and all he can see are a pair of tacky boots as he hears a man talking, wondering how long his 'little monkey' intends to sleep, he needs to wake up so they can 'play' again. The man laughs and it sends a shiver down Yata's spine, he lies there totally still until the guy walks away. As the man is leaving Yata can just make out his face, he looks almost exactly like Saruhiko.
Once Niki's gone Yata asks Fushimi who that was and Fushimi coldly says that was his father. Yata says that guy gave him a weird feeling and asks what he meant by 'playing.' Fushimi admits that he ended up in a coma after Niki set a trap that caused Fushimi to fall down the stairs. The way he says it Yata realizes that this isn't the first time Niki's done something like this to Fushimi, quietly asking if that's why Fushimi won't go back into his body. Fushimi doesn't reply and Yata says things are different now, Yata's here and can protect Fushimi. Fushimi becomes unexpectedly heated as he says Yata can't protect him and would only get hurt as well, telling Yata to stay away from Niki and that Fushimi isn't ever going back into his body, he's fine like this.
Yata isn't fine with that though, saying that he wants to hold Fushimi's hand and go do fun things together and just be together forever alive, he wants to cook Fushimi food and play video games with him and do all these things that they can't do together. Plus who knows what will happen to Fushimi if he doesn't go back, what if his body just deteriorates too much and he really does die. Fushimi's adamant though that he won't go back unless Niki's not around. Yata decides that they need to find a way to prove that Niki hurt Fushimi, so that he'll go to jail and Fushimi will be free. Fushimi doesn't see how they can do that, it's not like anyone will listen to the words of a ghost. Yata decides they need help from people who will listen and that's when he remembers one of his previous missions, where he heard about these guys called 'Homra' who are paranormal investigators.
Together Yata and Fushimi go to Homra, as soon as they walk in this young girl greets them both and Yata does a double take like wait you can see Saruhiko. Bartender Kusanagi appears and asks if Yata's being haunted, stating that Anna can see ghosts and helps them with their clients. If Yata needs an exorcism they can handle it, Yata's immediately like wait no definitely not we need help. Kusanagi calls the rest of Homra and Yata explains what's happened, while Fushimi perches on one of the seats and glares, trying to avoid Anna's quiet gaze. Homra agrees to help, Kusanagi noting that they may need help from the police this time, there's a special division that they have a tentative alliance with who assist with these kinds of ghost issues. Yata starts to feel really optimistic, like he's sure they can get Niki now and save Saruhiko (and then maybe Fushimi starts fading because his body really is weakening and now Yata's even more rushed, Fushimi's like resigned to his fate but Yata's not going to give up, he's going to take Niki down and then Fushimi can finally live again).

Slate War AU - everyone knows about the Dresden Slate, so there's constant war over owning it. Whatever country currently possesses it becomes the location where the fighting takes place. Adults are drafted into the war/students are recruited right out of high school. Yata is recruited to be a soldier, where Fushimi is taken to be a scientist to figure out how the Slate works. Yata goes MIA and Fushimi destroys the Slate in revenge for causing him to lose Yata. Yata is alive & Sarumi reunites.
I like the idea of Fushimi just going fuck it and betraying everybody in destroying the Slate just because without Yata around he has nothing to lose :3c So imagine the Slate as the great magical macguffin that everyone in the world wants, maybe in this AU it's a bit more compact though so it's easier to steal. The country who owns the Slate will receive great powers from it, say rather than Kings it's more like the unbound Slate that Hisui wanted, where the Slate just randomly grants powers to anyone within range and having it in your kingdom will cause more super powered people to be created. Those who have powers don't lose them though and even people outside the kingdom holding the Slate can gain powers too so it's like all the countries see this as if they don't own the Slate and have the most super powered soldiers than the other kingdoms will come and take them over. Whoever has the Slate will inevitably be attacked by all the other countries and so every country has a huge army, not just made up of people with superpowers but even kids right out of school are drafted to become soldiers.
Fushimi and Yata are a pair of high school friends who live in the current country that holds the Slate. Owning the Slate tends to be a double-edged sword, like the Slate triggers more prosperity among the people but it also means constant fighting on the border and those who can't afford to live in luxury have to join the army. Yata's super patriotic and ready to join the fighting, he wants to become a strong soldier who can fight to defend the country. Maybe when he was a kid the city where he and Fushimi lived was bombed by a rival country and they were saved by a young commander in the army, Suoh Mikoto. Yata's always looked up to Mikoto as a role model, the coolest person who saves those in need and fights for justice. Fushimi is more cynical, he thinks this whole war is stupid and doesn't get why having the Slate is supposed to be such a boon when all it leads to is fighting (and of course there's part of him that knows when it comes to fighting he isn't strong enough to protect Misaki, and he doesn't want Yata becoming an easily expendable cog in the war machine).
Right after high school though Fushimi meets up with a mysterious man named Munakata Reisi, who probably doesn't even ask Fushimi's permission before taking him away to become a scientist. Munakata's research department keeps an eye on all the students in the country's schools in order to pluck out the most promising, he's had his eye on Fushimi for a while and feels like Fushimi can become an extremely valuable member of their team doing research on the true nature of the Slate. Fushimi's belligerent at first, not wanting to help unless he gets to talk to Misaki. With Munakata's permission he's allowed to send Yata letters and they start doing the whole 'soldier and his sweetheart at home' thing, Yata sending Fushimi letters from the battlefield and Fushimi staying behind and learning all about the Slate and its properties.
Things are starting to get worse on the battlefield though, the country's leaders wanting to use the Slate's powers to destroy the other countries and pushing the researchers to find out more about the Slate. Fushimi notices that Munakata seems to disapprove but won't say anything, meanwhile his letters from Yata start getting fewer and further between. Eventually there's some big attack near where Yata was stationed and the letters stop, Fushimi's given Yata's belongings and told that Yata is MIA. Fushimi's hands tighten into fists, bitterly complaining about how useless this all is. He wants to get revenge somehow for Yata but there's no one he can fight, so instead he decides to use his research to destroy the Slate. He sneaks into the lab one night and just uses all the equipment set to a certain frequency and it causes the Slate to burst into hundreds of pieces.
This immediately causes an alarm to sound and soldiers show up, shocked to see what Fushimi's done. He's arrested and dragged to jail, where he's going to be put to death as a traitor. However before his trial there's like a coup and the country's rulers are overthrown by Munakata, who's secretly been plotting all this time to end the war. Fushimi is instead set free and as he steps out of the prison cell someone yells 'Saruhiko!' and tackle-hugs him. Fushimi's shocked to see that Yata's there and alive, he was being held prisoner by one of the opposing countries and has been set free now that all the countries have called a truce. Yata can't believe that Fushimi actually destroyed the Slate just to save him and Fushimi mumbles that he didn't do it for Yata, even as the way he's clinging tightly to Yata belies his words.
