HELLO ALL
TLDR
No reblogging from the blog this year - posting prompts tomorrow the 31st
For the past few years I've very much struggled with reblogging everyone's activity in the tag. So this year I will not be doing so.
(OR maybe I will? I just don't want to commit)
Even if I knew how to make a bot that reblogs - a lot of people still use the unique tag to tag outside challenges. So I've always had to hand submit. However it became too stressful for me and for the past few years I ended up avoiding it until later weeks or even months.
If you noticed I didn't finish reblogging last year so- I've just given up on that.
Honestly I've struggled a lot with depression for the last 7 years or so. It's been harder and harder to find my way back to tumblr. It doesn't help that my phone can barely handle the amount of apps it already has.
My main account @puff-pink hardly ever updates because of my big sad. And I don't know if I'll ever get back on the horse in the same way I did before.
Some of you know me as an artist, and tho I still churn out subpar art for my day-job I've struggled a lot to make art for myself during my depression. Partially because one year I overworked my hand - and still deal in continual wrist aches. Even the weeks I don't pick up a drawing tool.
I intended this challenge for myself and maybe the small fandoms I was in at the time. But it took off among writers and creators of all types across all fandoms.
One year I even tried to tally the most popular fandoms but there were honestly too many to keep track of- and I stopped after the first three pages of submissions.
I don't claim to have invented the concept of FemSlash February. Before I started the prompts I swear I had heard the phrase somewhere. Tho not sure where. Perhaps it had been amongst my friends on Skype. Back when I had online friends and Skype(I'm still not sold on Discord🤷‍♀️).
However that January I thought it would be fun to partake in a challenge of some kind. But scouring tumblr and the general internet. I could only find half hearted efforts on fanfiction sites from years past.
I'm so proud of all my Sapphic creators on here that have partaken every year. Even if I've never shown favoritism or awarded anyone. I do notice those that actually complete the challenge AND those that keep coming back each year(looking at you H20 writer(I don't remember your username but there's a mermaid writer that's a writing machine)). I truly am proud of you especially in my shriveled state of creativity. Thank you for your efforts. For your hype. And for your love of women of all kinds across all the universes.
Each year I'm surprised to find even more categories I never thought to include. From mood boards, to doll photography, to ofc the classic art and writing. May your pencils forever be in union with your sister mediums.
On that note. There is a strict NO AI GENERATED ART or writing this year.
Not that I could physically stop anyone who does use AI. But I do not want that sort of thing associated with this challenge. It's become scarily good in 2023 to the point it can't always be identified. So I simply ask for the honor system when it comes to AI generated creations.
That being said. If you've made it to the end of this post:
Prompts will be posted tomorrow.
I usually prefer to give yall more of a buffer, but I've been busy. Both with Big Sad, rescuing some feral cats, my own life, errands, chores and work.
If you're still here- here is a preview of the first three days.
FEB 1 - black
FEB 2 - spring
FEB 3 - cake
The 14th as usual will be some sort of Valentine romance type theme(haven't decided specifically yet) and as always there will be a Rest Day.
Expect some repeat prompts. In the past I tried to avoid them but idc anymore.
It's also a Leap Year this year so expect one extra prompt to throw off the symmetry of what's normally 28 days.
Thanks for coming back this year. And thank you to those that still check on this blog.
❤️🧡🤍💜🩷
Keep loving girls

Soooorrry for taking forever just to get this far lmao That's a wrap for Issue One!
I learned a lot in just these 40 pages, and I'm enjoying myself more than I honestly thought I would.
Again I will have to take a bit of a hiatus to get a good enough buffer for Issue Two, but when I return Emmet can finally take his spotlight as the central character this whole thing is for!

mes's webcomic recommendations
do YOU like webcomics or want to read some ? here are some i think are good NO im not gonna put my own here even if i think its good. -_-
starting with . i Think these ones are popular and well known..?
Paranatural - A story about paranormal ghosts and stuff. It's a real fun time, and the story is really good. The author's art progression is really impressive, truly skilled with paneling and such. It does eventually shift into a webnovel format with drawings as the author couldn't keep up with doing pages like before, and the quality of goodness of the story stays strong 👍👍
Tiger, Tiger - Story about the importance of sea sponges. Also a fun time, sea faring adventure about, again, sea sponges and how important they are nothing else OK? promise. (liar) PHENOMENAL artwork, very pretty to look at.... 👍👍
The Property of Hate - I need to reread it because i forgetted a lot but its such a cool looking comic and sooo interesting OK?! i swear. It's about a kid being a hero.
Vainglorious - a fun comic about a dragon facing Hubris Consequences. The main trio is real fun, the world is cool, all in all fun comic okie !!
Sakana - Slice-of-life comic about some folks working at a fish stall in a fish market. Real fun. Been on hiatus for four years, but is gonna make a comeback soon (author is working on building up buffer pages And then... ! ) But yeah! real fun.
Witchy - ... one i have to reread, it's been on hiatus since forever as the author was working on another comic (thatllbe out... in a while?), though i assume when that's done they'll come back to this...? Anyhow, I remember it being a very gripping story, and beautifully drawn... Also it's about witches. if. you . couldnt tell by the.. title...
NOW, onto ones that ... i dont Think are super well known ... ?
EcopportunityX - An interactive stick figure limited color palette comic about a facility where bad shit has happened ! uhoh! What the hell happened here! Follow the protagonist on their journey of learning what happened, and escaping the facility. Also, space pinball and ball pit beast is there. 👍👍👍
Eye in the Sky - And it only feels right to bring it up as well, but this is a fancomic of ecopportunityX ! ... Contains eox spoilers, so perhaps read the original first! This one features original characters and takes place a bit before eox, it's nice ok i like it :]
Gold Scissors - One of my all time favourites TBH. The art is nice, I love the story, the world is so cool i love it a lot... do yourself a favor and read it...
Midnight Connection - Finished! by the author of Gold Scissors, it's a short comic that takes place in the same universe, you can get through it in one sitting!! sniffles.
Brainchild - Comic about girl seeing weeeeeird stuff. Ghosts?! who knows. Tis a cool one OK read it...
Fairmeadow - "i hate being on the hippee comune they are always telling me Peace and Love on planet earth , orc lady, Peace and Love, and they do not leave me alone" - true real 100% words said. you can read it and youll see. Very pretty looking, ...
Holly & Macy and Everyone Else - comic about two teens learning about HOMOSEXUALITY and being a witch and its a very sweet .. i like it ok? it's also on tumblr @/ hollymacycomic
Falling to Far - i thiiink? its kinda just getting started, its about two star kids that just arrived to the planet of Far, and they are just checking how things are here rn. okie! its nice ITS ON TUMBLR! my fellow tumblr-hosted webcomicers lets gooooo
Daisy in DREAMLAND - ........ not a .. webcomic. Tis more a webnovel, i believe. It has pictures. Very cool looking guys, love the style, someone drench this cat in a bucket of water.
Needleminder - because fuck it we put webnovels here too I GUESS. it has pictures sometimes. haven't caught up with it recently tho BUT it's Very interesting and gets weird with it in cool ways...
Star Impact - comic about boxing! fighting! and people have gloves that give them a gimmick power tis pretty fuckin cool!
Kitty Corner - Comic about someone who sees ghosts. this ones kiiinda just getting started i think..? put its been promising so far, i like it ANOTHER TUMBLRHOSTED WEBCOMIC LETS GO BABY!

Update/Pinned Post
Welcome to my art archive. I've posted a lot about my OCs, TWEWY, Persona 5, Xenoblade X and in other fandoms.
Unfortunately due to recent-ish changes on Tumblr I no longer feel comfortable posting here much or at all. I'll keep my blog up for the foreseeable future or maybe even forever because of how Tumblr stores data. I'd rather have the link back to the source.
Or if the other sites explode in the meantime.
This has nothing to do with the date sadly. I'm just at my limit.
Here's where you can find me:
Pillowfort: gramophoneturtle. The most artist respected place and a decent long form blogging place.
Neocities: I'm currently developing an art archive on neocities over here. This will be THE archive place, one day! With RSS, one day!
Bluesky: gramophoneturtle. Twitter replacement. I don't trust it but it's meshing with me more than mastodon. Stream announcements are here b/c I ran out of energy for crossposting.
cohost: gramophoneturtle. I don't trust it'll stay but it has both a draft system & can save alt text on draft edits. Wild stuff to praise but when porting art out of Tumblr, it's helpful to have new drafts.
Twitch & YouTube: I stream weekly on Twitch and store VODs on both. Twitch has all my VODs and YouTube has VODs from Fall 2023 and onwards.
More details, pros and cons about each site below for those who are curious. Thanks for sticking around and reading.
Pillowfort
It's user funded and transparent about the breakdown of funds
They're against generative AI. Their reinforcement came out around the time Tumblr's not-really-against-it stance came out. This is huge to me.
They're working on a PWA of the site so it will have a way to function like a smartphone app
Image post options aren't great but you aren't limited to 4 (unlike cohost - kinda, and Bluesky)
Alt text gets eaten if you edit a post currently which is awful. (Tumblr used to do this.) Alt text isn't an option for picture type posts but is for text posts with pictures. But hey at least you can include alt text!
Communities are nice for fandoms and stuff. You can search by tags but you don't follow tags, you join/watch communities.
They have funding for the next 6 months past any month that was fully funded. So as of April 1, 2024, funding should last until (the end?) of October if they were to not get any more donations/subscriptions from now on. Basically, they have a 6 month buffer and so far for 2024 they've been keeping it and maintaining their monthly funding goals
Neocities
Home page URL should not change but artwork URLs might
The artwork section is inspired by Tumblr's archive page/system. I don't think I want it to be exactly like it (might be a limitation of static pages re: tag filtering) but I want to try and partially make it
Artwork on there have been nightshaded and glazed. I would like to reglaze some pieces that are too glazed for my liking, now that I have a better computer for it (so it doesn't take forever). That's why not a lot of art is on there yet
I might go into detail about how I automated some of the web dev stuff to make my life easier on my my main blog. In summary: I'm using 11ty (eleventy), generating pages from data and templates, using github for version control and github actions for updating the site automatically
Bluesky:
Feeds are cool. I've found and made (through SkyFeed) a lot of Feeds. Feeds can look for text in posts and alt text, and/or specific tags. Can filter out reblogs or replies. Can work off of user lists. Can include/exclude specific posts - like Twitter Moments. There's a lot of flexibility and filtering.
Feeds can lookback anywhere from 25 hours to 1 week when not looking at one user. So when pulling from many users, you could just get the latest updates. For one user (say your own gallery of whatever) you're allowed to go back to the beginning, it can be your art gallery. And then people can just follow that feed so you don't have to worry about your art getting buried if people just want to follow your art
There's a setting you can turn on to warn and prevent you from posting until you add alt text. I love this. Especially since, like Twitter, you can't go back and edit a post
Forcing ALT text has the added bonus of leaving it last so I can double check tags and text in case I accidentally hit the post button before I'm ready
Twitch
There is art. And VTuber stuff. And life updates. Art/project updates. Lots of OC talk. Like I wish I could post more about Null considering how much stuff I've spoken about them on stream but freaking time! And energy.
YouTube
Used to do more Timelapses but stopped because laptop was not having fun with it. Now that I have a new computer it might be better!
Also has Twitch VODs because I want another place to back up VODs since local recordings take up a lot of space. And I can mark Chapters(/Moments?) timestamps to find stuff again.
Special thank you to those that made it all the way down here!
So what is the blog for now? Archiving, mainly, as I said at the beginning. I might link to my neocities page in maybe art updates or to pillowfort. And I might need a place to fall back to if the other sites don't last. I know bluesky and cohost are not much better/probably not better in other ways so I know that posting on them probably won't be good long term.
But that's why I'm working on the art archive site on the side. I'll always have a safe and controlled place where I can have all my art and details and stuff. It's gonna take a while and it's challenging but it's what I feel like I gotta do now.
I'm just so tired.

✨💫Episode 6 of First Contact is LIVE!! 🪐🚀 This is the longest one to date clocking in at just under 30 strips/pages! This one's got alien food, our pilot bullying a robot tyrant, and a space chase… up on my patreon!!
Tiers $2 and above can access and download (ie keep forever) all episodes up to 6 and read as I build up my buffer for an eventual public release.

So was wondering I am working on a comic I'm trying to get going. I was wondering? How long on average do your pages take/how many do you have in advance. Cause I'm trying to get into a good flow (and not finishing the page at 4am the when it's supposed to go up in the morning) and just seeing kinda the work flow of another
i'll tell you up front that any questions of 'how long does it take you' applied to me are Not standard. i'm a freak of nature. ask anyone who knows me. i am just physically fast.
that said i typically split the work on any page across three days for pencil/ink/color, because trying to do everything start to finish is a misery and you'll feel like you're staring at the same thing forever. doing them in strict stages is a good way to enforce breaks, and you can actually get more done overall if you do them in batches in my experience.
my work on NS is right now relegated to a weekend whenever my buffer starts running low, but for the GN i'm working on i pencil 3 pages a day mon-thurs, starting at roughly 10:30 am and if i'm focused, i'm usually done by 2:30 pm with a few get-up-and-do-something-else breaks in between.

Ooooh I wanna hear about Fear Is Only The Beginning
Fear is Only the Beginning
i honestly don't know if/when i will ever go back to this sjgssdg my writing style and preferences have changed a lot since i started that story 😭
but i think i'll take this as an opportunity to share a lot of snippets i wrote for future scenes that may never see the light of day. look below the cut for more!
[ send a WIP title and i'll share something for it/about it ]
---
scene one:
Tom waits until they are alone in their dormitory to pass him the book. The cover has a charm placed on it to obscure the true title, but even that does little to mask the magic emanating from the pages.
“I bookmarked a page,” Tom says casually, but Harry can sense excitement beneath Tom’s usual veil of careful detachment.
Later, when he is finally alone, Harry flips to the marker and starts reading, unsure if he’ll be able to stomach the entire book from start to finish.
Horcrux. Just reading the word leaves Harry feeling awful. Reading the process behind it only worsens the feeling. His skin crawls when he thinks on it, even long after the book has been returned. Killing someone so that you can live forever.
But it is soul magic, and that is significant. Harry can’t say he agrees with everything that Tom does, or wants to do, but this is an opportunity to learn things that Tom won’t find suspicious. They can research this together, and if Harry can find a solution, find a way out—well, he’d be a fool not to try and take it.
Tom wants to live forever. He wants to tether himself to this world, to this life. He wants Harry by his side while he does it. Harry just wants to live knowing his soul is wholly his own.
If he can separate the piece of soul that doesn’t belong to him, maybe Tom won’t want him anymore. Harry’s not sure how he feels about that. He’s been linked to Tom for years now, the two of them drawn together by their strange magical connection. He still occasionally catches Tom glancing at his lightning scar, clearly deep in thought. Tom hates not knowing things, and Harry thinks it’s a wonder he never got dumped into Ravenclaw after rejecting Slytherin.
The mere thought of opposing Tom scares him. Not out of fear that Tom will hurt him, but rather what other consequences might make themselves known. Tom is volatile, mercurial. His desires and ambitions wage a constant war against the world as he strives to force reality to bend its knee to him.
It is breathtaking to witness Tom in those moments, even though it is Tom’s cruelty and pragmatism breaking the surface. There is fulfillment in being a part of something so powerful, the tiny cogs of Tom’s grand plans humming in unison as the large wheels of politics continue to turn.
Harry knows that he helps to buffer Tom’s sharper edges, that he provides Tom with something truly invaluable: an ally, an equal. He will always act in Tom’s best interests, for Tom’s own good. And Tom will never hurt him. It would be hard to leave Tom, knowing that.
---
scene two:
“You’re always someone to me, Tom. You always have been and you always will be.”
Harry is too close. His words are like fire against Tom’s skin, burning hot all over. His hand is touching Tom’s, holding it gently, threading their fingers together. Harry is all that is good in the world. He is the only thing that matters. He should be the only thing that matters.
“Tom?” asks Harry, concerned.
Tom forces his throat to clear itself. “Harry,” he says. Just that, nothing else.
“It’s you and me, Tom,” continues Harry, voice soft. “You have me. Isn’t that enough?”
Harry’s eyes—so green, like liquid emeralds—are swallowing Tom whole. Tom feels like he’s never been so alive as Harry watches him, sees him. Tom wants so much. He wants the world. Tom wants to fashion himself from diamond and silver, unbreakable and shining. But Harry sees through him, burns him, breaks him down into his constituent pieces with nothing more than a loaded glance.
Tom’s free hand rises to touch Harry’s face, to drag his fingers up Harry’s cheek, along the bone structure, across the brow, under the forehead, and just around the edge of the angry red scar. All this, all of Harry. All of it is his. Oh, it aches. A different kind of pain from the scorching fire in his lungs and his raw, parched throat.
“Harry,” Tom repeats. “I want you.” I need you.
They are centimeters apart, sharing the same air, chests almost pressed together. Tom can feel each breath that passes in and out of Harry’s lungs.
“Then have me.”
Tom obliges, closing the remaining distance. His mouth touches Harry's, hesitant. Everything is warm. Harry is warm. Their lips come together, moving, and Tom’s hand winds its way past the scar and into Harry’s hair. The kiss is careful, so careful, because Harry might pull away at any moment, might leave.
Harry’s hands come up to grasp Tom’s waist, to pull them closer together still. Tom feels dizzy as his head tilts back, his lips parting to inhale. His breaths are unsteady, he can hear the air passing into him in irregular bursts.
But Harry’s smile is familiar. Being with Harry screams safety and acceptance and care—all the things Tom had tried to find for himself in the world only to be disappointed time and time again. The rest of the world never mattered to him except when it came to his desire to conquer it. This world, his world, is Harry. The strange scar and the knobby knees and the snarky jokes at his expense. Always this, always Harry.
Without any conscious thought, Tom finds himself drawn back down, his lips against Harry’s. The kiss is messy and inexperienced, but every touch of Harry’s skin upon his leaves him hungry for more. If he can have this—if he can have this for every day for the rest of his life—
When they pull away, Tom has one hand curled against the nape of Harry’s neck. His other arm is wrapped around Harry in a tight grip, fingers grasping hard enough to bruise, but Harry doesn’t seem to mind. Harry’s hands are still gentle on Tom’s waist, their thumbs stroking slow patterns that Tom can feel through his shirt.
“I love you,” Harry says, breath hitching, words sincere.
The statement hurts somehow. Tom presses his forehead against Harry’s, careful to avoid contact with the scar. Tom can’t form the words in return. He’s not sure if he can. The concept of love seems very far away from where they are. Tom has always wanted to be more, to have more.
They are breathing together. Him and Harry. Two of the same, two souls bound for each other. That thought calms Tom, steadies him.
Tom brushes his lips against Harry’s cheek, feather soft. He hopes Harry understands.
Harry’s hand comes up to cup Tom’s face, to brush calloused fingertips along the upper part of Tom’s jaw. With Harry’s touch comes reassurance. Tom is not alone, and he never will be.
“Forever,” Tom says. It’s not quite the same, but the sentiment is there.
Harry gives him another quick kiss in return. It is enough.

Saturday Mind Soup + Random Fandom Ravings
Not a new music kinda day for me. Instead, I'm about to get ready to do sadly normal adult things instead of writing.
But!
I did write over the course of the week. Here's what I've been working on the past few days. I also have a question at the end that I'd love to hear your answer to, just out of sheer curiosity.
I can now just fucking call it Nightsongs lmao. I edited down two of the chapters (they were legitimately bloated) but also bulked up the second chapter a bit, so six of one half-dozen of the other.
Chapter [redacted+1] is still in the works, but I have enough buffer time to work on it that I'm not worried. It's just... a lot, emotionally.
Wrote some silly rat fluff that, of course, turned into a fic about comfort in its own way. I am far too obvious.
I'm writing a second chapter for Blades in the Night because I like the idea too much to let it sit. It's going to sit in a sorta... "complete, but open for more" status basically forever at this rate. Also, it's an excuse for smut.
Everything else has been kinda blahhhhh in my head. I have a couple ideas that I rattle around, but nothing sticks on the page. It all ends up being unreadable gunk. This annoys me because I want to write these ideas, but I get a strange block about them.
Since the rant got longer than I expected, my question was: If you read other Shadowheart/OC writers, who are your favorites? I could use the recs, because I feel like I know a handful and that's all.
I think the last bullet of my working on list is related to the "era" of fandom we're in. The fandom hype is slowing down, at least the non-Astarion fandom. Additionally, people's headcanons are starting to solidify and fanon is coalescing around... something? I really don't know what, and it's weird being completely in the dark about it.
Either way, I find myself in that space where I'm suddenly and weirdly discomfited by it all. I worry about my characterization more than usual and dedicate less time to writing than I want to because of it.
To add onto that surreal feeling, there's the realization that I don't really... know anyone in the Shadowheart/OC sphere. Is it even a corner of fandom that exists? Are there "big" Shadowheart/OC writers? There's a fair amount of fanart, but the "big" fanartists have chosen their corners which is going to cause a certain element to form around them that will be interesting to see in the future.
I could name a few writers in my general corner whose fics are very popular, but I never hear from them or see them around. I have to assume they're not very active elsewhere. IDK, it's all so bizarre and makes the fairly popular category of Shadowheart/OC feel empty. I forgot how hollow fandom spaces feel when you ignore the corner that overshadows everything else.
Every week or so, I try to find writers whose works aren't getting a ton of comments/reach and read them, commenting on the ones that I enjoy. I'm always hopeful that I'll find a rapport with those people, but it doesn't always work out that way. There's a couple people here that I know follow me from those sorts of comments, so feel free to say hello! This is mostly a weird rant.
The feelings will pass. They always do. In the moment, however, they cause blocks that don't need to be there.

how time-consuming would you say it is to create a webcomic, and how much does it/would it interfere with a full-time job
well i wouldnt exactly know since i dont have a full-time job but let me say this
making a webcomic is a BEAST of an undertaking.
it is rewarding, dont get me wrong, it is so rewarding, and hearing that people like it makes my damn day, but do not let anyone understate how much work it is. several hours every day, page after page, script, thumbnail, panel layout, sketch, lineart, shading, colors, all for anywhere between 5 and 10 panels, figure out a few funny things to say about it for when it goes up, do your own promotional work, pretend not to be affected by meaningless nitpicking, and after over a year of posting these pages, you know what stresses me out the most?
the end is not in sight. this one comic may last well over 10 years. as a 20 year old, that interval of time is basically impossible to put into perspective. in my mind, this comic might as well be infinite.
but i love it.
i love creating my comic. it is my favorite thing to do. it is so, so much work, and it can stress me the fuck out, but i care so much about this story, and i love creating it.
ive been doing this for over a year, and all that tells me is that i can work on this comic forever, and i will finish it. and when i finish it, i have every intention of making another one and spending even more time on that!
my buffer took a big hit over the summer, when i was doing an internship at a theater that basically took over my entire life for 3 months and i didnt have time to draw, so with that in mind, i can say working on a webcomic with a full-time job is not something to take lightly. i know there are webcomic artists out there juggling multiple jobs, sometimes multiple comics, so its certainly possible, but you need to understand the humongous task youre facing, and you need to love not just your story but the act of making it, because that comic is going to become a part of your life, and if you arent passionate about it - again, not just the comic itself, but the act of making it - you wont be happy. and thats not sustainable, not for the time it takes to make a comic.
it is a very big decision. and it can be the best choice youll ever make. but you need to understand the choice youre making first, and i cant tell you for sure what you should do, because im not you. you know your life better than anyone, so you have to figure out if its right for you.

Could i maybe get some hc's abouutttt JohnxAbigailxNonbinary Reader??? 👀 i love a good throuple!!!
Finally got this done! I wanted it finished before pride month ended, but I had work. : / It's 2 pages! If anyone likes it, please reblog! This took forever to write, but I was happy to do it! <3 So - boring logistics first - How you met!
I think it could go two ways; Abigail finally finds someone who understands her on a different level than John does and potentially feels guilty when feelings emerge - or John finds a lovely partner that makes him feel something powerful in its own way - and he finds that you have something that would spark something in Abigail. She'd suspect cheating until she heard John out about you. Abigail and John are so complex and sometimes messy. Lol You would need to be prepared for that, and occasionally, you may need to be a buffer between the two, but I can see Abigail and John working VERY diligently to make sure that their arguments do not spill onto you. Jack is informed at a young age, and he's totally fine with it. Kids, especially Jack, are more intelligent than they are credited with. Kids can be very open, and he's one of them! However, Abigail and John would make sure you both are comfortable with each other. (Depending on if Abigail was in the relationship with you first, that is even more important.) Now to the fun stuff! * Abigail needs help with cooking. Desperately. You could be the worst cook in the world, but you would still be better than her. If not, then your job is to ensure the house doesn't burn down and provide moral support. *You'd be a good influence on them having a bit more fun! With another adult and trying to make everyone happy, the occasional outing might become more than occasional, even better if you get to take Jack along. Abigail isn't sure about movies, so you and John tend to go to those. But Abigail loves plays! John tends to be a bit more bored by most of them and "doesn't get it." Even if they aren't your favorite, you tend to go to some of them with her to make her happy. * John is very timid about holding hands, but he will. He prefers gloves on with most things because "I feel naked," But you insist you like his hands and kiss the scars on his knuckles. Abigail is shy about it because open affection is just something she wasn't shown, but she's happy to do so with you! *Abigail leaves you sweet little gifts that you just happen to find unexpectedly. Sometimes it's a snack hidden or something she made herself, or even something special she bought at the store. She also writes notes with nothing but your name and a heart. It's not the neatest, and she's shy about it, but she tried. (Reminder that Abigail can't read or write, but likely knows her signature and later would have to know John and Jack's. She'd be sure to learn yours, too!) She wishes she could write you longer notes because she knows you'll be more receptive. She's shy to do so and worried John will tease her. (He won't, but she doesn't know that.) Sometimes, she whispers things in your ear when she thinks you're asleep at night. *John also tries to write for you. It's so sweet and earnest………but super dorky. He's not good with romance at all, but he tries. He has horrible flirty lines but also attempts at something that could be like poetry. His sloppy handwriting makes it even sweeter.
*You tend to ride Abigail's horse more often than John's since Abigail doesn't leave the house as much - but ever since being in a relationship with you - you sure as hell make sure she can have a bit more freedom to do as she pleases whether it's you accompanying / "driving" her to where she needs to go, or watching after Jack and shooing her out of the house. However, Jack starts giggling one day like crazy and bouncing excitedly. You can tell it's secret while Uncle pushes him. John and Abigail come home with a new horse for you of your own. You had been sighing dreamily going past the stables for weeks, and they always talked about one of your own, but Abigail would have killed you all if you or John stole one, and none of you could afford one. Jack had just had a few catalogs with him over the past months, and you talked animately about which ones you would have liked. Lo and behold, after months of saving, they called you to the barn, where a lovely new mare was tacked for you, ready to go. They were grins were magnificent and wide, and you knew yours matched theirs. NSFW :) * Bigger bed, obviously. ; ) IMO Abigail and John are both versatile. (I think both are too complex to be in one category. Sometimes John likes to watch, sometimes Abigail does and is something of a cock doula, but sometimes, you're the cock doula, and sometimes even John and Pegging are involved with at least one partner. You have to work to keep John quiet. He's a loud moaner and tries his damndest to keep his voice down. *You manage to scrounge up money for a ……….personal device. A massager, if you will….It changes your sex lives forever, even if it is louder than you all would like.

June Update
Big updates today! It’s taken a bit more time than I originally planned but I’m happy to report some of the changes I’ve been working on the last few weeks are now live!
That delay was due mostly to...well...I found out the fun way that user-made Tumblr pages have a maximum character limit for their HTML text of 500,000 characters (and that includes spaces and HTML tags) and I had to take like a week looking over everything to make sure it’d actually fit within those constraints.
New Aspect Page
GOOD NEWS: Our new-and-improved aspect catalog is live! Barring some eventual trimming and slight editing it should even be able to fit within the 500K character limit well into the future. BAD NEWS: Our new aspect catalog is up in only a partial state, because I didn’t want to have to make y’all wait forever for me to be done revising all the old text (it’d be Autumn by the time I’d be done if I did that).
I do intend to eventually get all of the original information back into the new page, just in the form of regular updates instead of pushing it all out at once (and for the preservationists out there, I’ve got the original text safe and sound in case I ever need it). My expectation with that is adding 2 aspects a month, possibly more depending on available time. I’ll be focusing on getting the aspects we already had in there back in there, after which I’ll be getting to work on filling the rest of the catalog out.
In the meantime, you’ll just have to pardon the dust and filler blocks.
Extended Zodiac
GOOD NEWS: Our Zodiac sideblog is now updated with the aspects of Craft and One, including the Omnisearch! BAD NEWS: The Omnisearch was too big for Tumblr, and I’ve had to split the main page into four smaller pages.
Trying to update the Omnisearch in preparation for the upcoming set of signs is how I actually found out about Tumblr’s page character limit in the first place. For those who weren’t around when the sideblog started, the Omnisearch used to exist as thirteen pages (one for each caste grouping) and I eventually compiled the whole thing into one page for convenience’s sake. It’s very disappointing that I have to split it up again but thankfully I’ve done the logistics to minimize the damage, and we should be able to get every single other sign updated into the system with just four pages (and if we can’t that’s not going to be a problem for a LONG time).
The Omnisearch link on the main page for the TTSEZ still works, it just brings you to the first of the four pages (rusts, bronzes, and golds) and you use the links in the header bar to move between the others.
Future Plans
For the immediate future my schedule is going to be looking a little hectic and I may need to put TTS work on the backburner. I still plan to get aspects updated, but the main focus for the next couple weeks is going to be getting the TTS Extended Zodiac back up and running (at whatever pace ends up working out the best).
For the Zodiac, I’m still working on building up a sizeable buffer so I won’t have to stress over uploads once the TTSEZ goes live again. That said, it’ll start posting again next month and, with luck, should be able to keep posting through the end of the year.
This hectic part of my schedule should hopefully wrap up by the time we get to August, and I’ll be able to give more concrete plans for the future at that point.

hi!! i'm a huge fan of all your works, and i was wondering if i could bother you for a little advice!
i've been trying to post my own writing, and while i'm decently confident in my work, i tend to overthink a Lot when it comes to actually posting on the internet. i usually get super anxious and delete it within a couple hours. have you ever dealt with nerves like that? do you have any advice on how to get through it?
you seem super nice and your work really inspired me so i thought i'd ask :3 ☀️🫶
Tumblr media
O wow! Thank you for the kind words!
I have 2 things that really helped me out with finally putting stuff out there on ye old internet
Perfection is IMPOSSIBLE
You can edit and edit and EDIT forever! And then you'll just edit your head out of ever accepting the story as it is. Heck you'll start to look at the words on the page and maybe even start hating your voice as a writer. A dangerous path of self destruction and sadness! For me - I know for a fact grammar is my weakness. Have always struggled with the rules/restrictions. So for me, I accept it! Just like if you played sports you might know, hmmm I might not be super fast but I sure can throw that ball SO FAR.
I understand my limit - and to some that might be a put off. And that's alright! For the stuff I put out there for funsies I shrug and let myself not care as much about the grammar stuff. Now for the work I eventually sell - I'll tag someone else in for grammar if I feel it's important for that project.
At the end of the day I write FOR FUN. I do this to not think about my day job stuff. So fun is the only goal I have! Perfection is a shiny thing far off in the distance that tbh is not real. And giving yourself something attainable as a motivator will do far more for your nerves. Do it for fun! Do it because you wanna talk to friends about it! Do it just to see how you grow!
Perfection can be holding a mirror up and saying "Well why am I not like x?" You're you - the story you have to tell is yours. Inspiration can come from many places but beware the itching thought in the back of the mind of someone else's work = perfection. Even that other artist is not perfect.
Follow your motivator and when perfection creeps up - go take a walk outside and come back when you're well rested and well fed.
Make an account just for writing
So if you take a glance around my ye old blog - I made this one entirely for the sake of writing. TBH this was the biggest thing to allow me freedom to just write and not worry too much.
It allows for a space where the people who want to engage with my writing can do so. Or if anything it keeps my easily distracted mind in my best attempt of a chaos containment zone haha.
I've always written a bunch of things just for me, but I've also always wanted to engage more with other people through writing. I want to talk about my little blorbos! I personally think of my pen name as akin to a drag name. If having a buffer between your personal identity and the writing helps - go for that! That certainly was the thing that let me finally let loose and not be as in my head.
At the end of the day making art can be an incredibly personal thing. Writing in particular - because it can feel like your voice on full display! If the fear stems from a place of being afraid of people not liking it, it can feel incredibly personal.
For me, following my motivator of fun and creating the buffer of my silly little skeleton was enough to finally let me relax and enjoy sharing with others. I've been writing 20ish years... but now I can finally say I'm having a blast with it in ways I never could have imagined before! I wish joy for you in your sharing process, and hope my little thoughts were helpful 💞✨

A manic-depressive guide to going on a run
Step one: wait until you’re manic.
I’m totally kidding. You’ve got to save that shit for your capitalist gig. It takes a certain kind of energy to send an email with an appropriate amount of exclamation points. (None makes you read overly-serious, more than two makes you look like an idiot. I don’t make the rules.)
Where was I? Oh yeah, running while depressed, the dynamic duo of never-gunna-happen. Oil and water, a dentist appointment after a music festival, anal sex and Indian food.
They should just exist separately.
After all, running of any kind is about effort. Even the relaxed gentle kind of run, the kind you can breathe during. It’s about warming up your body and pushing forward. Mentally and physically.
Depression is about staying put. Stuck flat on your back in a desolate emotional tundra and not caring if birds of prey peck your eyes out. One of my favorite tweets ever described it thus: “I want a Paranormal Activity movie with all depressed people. That way when furniture moves in the middle of the night, they just roll over and go “whatever”.”
I love that attitude, I’ve had that attitude. You can take my soul, satan, if you can even get anything from someone so dead inside. Just leave me the bed and the pillow I use to separate my knees.
Some say you need a good reason to run. Maybe that’s why you googled “running and depression” to begin with. But reasons only work when you’re already inspired. The have a markedly less persuasive effect when grief sits on your chest or anxiety sends sharp little pangs to your lower stomach.
Here’s how some decent rationale have gone over with bed-ridden me in the past.
You’ll feel better.
No I won’t. I’ll feel this way forever. Moods don’t exist and cycles don’t apply to me. I know I’ve said that before, but this time I’m sure.
You know you’ll feel better
I don’t want to feel better. I deserve this.
(Yup, a real response, I even used to withhold my medication from myself when I was hungover as ‘punishment’”)
Do it for Mom
Ugh, now I just feel lazy and guilty
Do it for Dad
The man who gave me these short shins? He’s done enough.
Do it to look good naked
For the sex drive I don’t have?
Run because…feminism?
Go fuck yourself.
Run because it’s good for you
I’m tired. Couldn’t I just go in to a coma, instead?
Run because you can
I can’t.
You can.
Fine. Then I won’t.
It goes on and on. Reason doesn’t work when you’re in a state that supersedes logic. Here’s the thing, the voice in your head isn’t the enemy. It’s trying to protect you in its own way. Shutting you down until you can turn on again, like a buffering web page or an iPhone you left in the sun too long.
It’s not about the benefits of running. You already know on some level you can do it. You already know it will improve your life and that you actually will feel better once you start.
It’s just so fucking impossible to start.
The end!
Kidding again. See how much fun we’re having?
So here’s my brutally honest experience with running when you’re burnt out and down. To keeping it up even when you almost shit yourself. (If you’re a runner this has never happened to, I do not believe you. Even if you’re telling the truth, I need to believe it’s universal, okay?).
So before I get in to everything else, inspiring or just morbidly funny, here’s the most horrible truth of all: it’s totally worth it and you’re absolutely capable. No-shut up. Seriously- shut up. Running is depression’s kryptonite, its natural predator. It isn’t about speed or distance or your shoes or the app or the size of your ass or the instagram of the 5 K. It isn’t about your ex or your future ex or your insurance premium. I know how easy it is not to care about that shit. Why that kind of thing has never been enough to get in the habit of running in the past.
For me, running is about getting out of bed. It’s about changing clothes and listening to music and going outside. It’s about keeping a simple promise to myself, “today, if you do nothing else, you will run for a little bit”. Then you can go back to happily rotting, I promise. It’s not about anything else other than getting a little sunlight and telling yourself that at least you fucking tried. That it’s a literal positive step.
The best source of energy is purpose. Purpose is what keeps you going when fatigue trumps reason. But that’s something I learned later.
For right now, it’s all just baby steps. Getting up, changing your clothing, and going outside. You don’t even have to wash your hair. All joggers are filthy anyways (another lesson for another day).
You already feel like shit. Doesn’t matter how you’re currently coping. Might as well feel like shit and get a little cardio. But that’s all I’m ever coaching because the rest is just my experiences. The things I’ve learned. Running doesn’t cure anything, but it's helping me become the person who can heal myself a little easier.
It’s a tool that’s there for you, if you want it.

Parasocial relationships.
I wanna talk about them.
What are they? Wikipedia says: "Parasocial interaction (PSI) refers to a kind of psychological relationship experienced by an audience in their mediated encounters with performers in the mass media, particularly on television and on online platforms."
While this did exist technically for decades it's really only recently become more of a mainstream term and that's primarily bc of social media platforms that continue to push the boundaries of what is personal and what is public.
With technology being where it is we are finding so many issues that are side effects of these advancements. People filming others in public spaces wasn't seen nearly as big an issue in the past as it has become now partially bc of how technology has advanced so you aren't carrying around a tape recording video camera like they did when video cameras were stil relatively newly publicly accessible tools (as opposed to tools of an industry). It is also impact by how we interact online. And this stems back to the dawn of the internet.
When the internet was first being birthed into people's homes it came with a lot of freedom. It also had a lot of holes. Internet safety became a huge topic in the 90s that for some reason faded almost entirely. Back when i was growing up you were told not to talk to strangers online on the same level as don't get in a car with a stranger. It was for good reason too, the internet was a much easier way for those who wished to do harm to find a way to do so. It's only gotten worse.
Nowadays there is two factor and secure passwords and encryption that can help protect people but that's bc the threats have gotten to a point where it's a danger to governments. No amount of passwords or authentication is going to eradicate the human error. And the human error is what people count on when they are trying to do something they shouldn't.
All that said i think it's clear how there are a lot of different factors that play into this: safety/security, technology, boundaries, etc. Parasocial relationships have grown with technology. Back when Hollywood was the end all be all, back before the internet, famous people could have more of a buffer. This isn't to say those parasocial relationships weren't happening. They were very different though.
Imagine if your favorite YouTuber or tiktoker or internet personality did nothing but movies and the occasional late night show interview that if you didn't have the tv on at the right time you missed it forever. That sort of division between creator and audience gives the audience room the breathe and recalibrate back to reality. Social media platforms thrive on interaction even if it isn't positive or good.
I think creators are going to need to incorporate some different techniques in order to communicate better with their audience. "Why not the audience just change their behavior?" Idk have you tried getting hundreds or thousands or millions of people on the same page as one another? Yeh it's a little cumbersome. Artists have had to adapt before and it's literally part of being an artist. Communication needs to be clearer.
This isn't just about people who don't log off. It's being aware of how many different people there are and how everyone is going to see something different at different lights of the day you know what i mean? Like even ONE person can view a video at one point of the day feel one way about it then view it again later with a completely different perspective on it.
Now if you as an artist want fo leave it open to interpretation (🙄) fine, but you then give up your right to dismiss complain or judge any of the interpretation.
However, if you communicate clearly what you are doing and why it will serve you in the end bc you will always be able to go back to that and say see this is what I'm doing what I've been doing this is my intention and you cannot take that from me.
Creators have got to really think about their intentions and the impact of those intentions on others. Your intentions can be harmless, but the side effects you didn't consider could be harmful to you or someone else.
On the other we do need to do work on the audience side OBVIOUSLY. We need to really start investing in educating YOUTH on psychology. I'm not saying like cognitive development theories or anything extreme. But having conversations about relating to one another is something long overdue in our public schools.
We also need to rethink what socializing means today. Let's not conflate internet friendship with parasocial relationships. Lots of kids cannot connect with others in their life and being able to connect with anyone even if they live half way across the globe can literally save their life. Let's nurture that while keeping in mind that though there are risks we can do what we can to lessen the risks without destroying the ecosystem that is being built. We can teach kids that a relationship is a two way street and that just because someone says that they love you doesn't mean they know you.
I think the region it may get really muddy is live streaming. Because there is typically a central figure, the streamer, and then the audience. While streamer may interact with the audience individually directly in ways we haven't seen in media typically before, it's still not the same as bonding with someone in real life. All it really is is a quieter live show like you would see on stage, except everyone in the audience has blinders and a gag on and can only applaud by spelling it out one letter at a time.
However, there are friendships and bonds made between streamers and some audience members. I haven't seen it cause issues necessarily, but i wouldn't be surprised if it does.
This is mostly a brain dump. Im nearing the end of my shift so I'm ending this also my mind is scattered so idk what else i had to say. I just need to go to bed ASAP
